maladaptive/immersive daydreaming ask game! (*¯︶¯*).。o○O☁️
send in a number (or multiple) and if you feel like it, an accompanying paracosm/para!
(apologies for how wordy these are. i am not a man known for my brevity)
reblog and have fun with these! (and if you reblog this or send me an ask, i'll send you one too)
how long have you been daydreaming for? (bonus if you can remember: what was your first daydream scenario/paracosm?)
if your paracosm had a popular fandom, what do you think it'd be like?
do you have any paracosms that aren't huge, but that you fall back on when The Time Is Right™️?
WOULD YOU RATHER: have your daydreams projected onto a screen attached to your head at all times OR be entirely unable to daydream ever again for the rest of your life?
what para of yours is most like you? self inserts and paraselves don't count!
how did you come up with your paras' names? did they come to you randomly or did you spend hours researching name websites?
imagine your paras have at least a basic knowledge of driving (or even just like, cars). can they parallel park? (bonus points if you explain it like in this post)
do you do extensive worldbuilding for your paracosms? if you do, what are some of your favorite elements?
if your paras found out you were their creator, how would they react?
if you have a self insert/paraself, how similar are they to you?
is there any time of the day where you can't/don't daydream?
are your daydreams linear and structured, or do you jump all over the place?
what's a song you've been daydreaming to lately, and what's your favorite moment in said daydream?
do your paras age with you, or are their ages static? does it feel weird to be older than a para you were previously the same age as?
if you had the opportunity to leave this world and live in your paracosm forever, would you? why or why not?
(if you have multiple) which paracosm of yours is most grounded in reality? which is most fantastical?
make one of those "[blank] spoilers without context" memes for your paracosms. then explain it (or don't :))
who is your second favorite para, and why aren't they your favorite?
what would your paras' typing styles be like? do they use lots of emojis? sign off each text like a letter? type with lots of weird spaces and ellipses?
do you move a lot when daydreaming, and if so, in what ways?
have you ever wanted to make a piece of media of your paracosm (comic, animation, visual novel, novel, tv show, etc.)? what are elements that would be apart of it?
when you actively want to start daydreaming, what is your mind's process? do you tune back in like it's a tv show? flip through imaginary files? let it come naturally?
do you ever daydream about yourself (not a self insert, just you)?
do you have any two paras that are polar opposites to one another? (they don't even have to exist in the same universe, just in general)
what para would you absolutely hate in real life?
FREEBIE! drop some long-winded lore or some memes or whatever you want ^▽^
when you experience a daydream block or crash, what are things you do to try and fix it? (or ways you cope. lmao i get it)
for fictparacosms, do your daydreams affect how you perceive the media and/or the fandom?
if you ever write down things about your daydreams (truly anything at all — notes, dialogues, descriptions, etc), share a random snippet with no context.
if your paras had madd/daydreamed immersively, what would they daydream about?
for any pairings (romantic, platonic, familial, whatever), what is the dynamic between your paras like?
if you could make a bingo of common elements of your daydreams (paracosm-specific or not), what would be on some of the squares?
if you have tried to make your paras in character makers (picrew, meiker, etc), what is an aspect of your para that these makers never/rarely have?
are your daydreams clear in your mind's eye?
if you have multiple paracosms, what would it be like if they had a crossover?

“Divine, what the hell does any of this mean?”
Don’t worry, my child. I will happily explain some terms for you~ 😌
Maladaptive Daydreaming - the strong compulsion to daydream (usually as a coping mechanism)
Paracosm - A daydream “world” in the daydreamer's mind (usually held from childhood, but can be recently made, too)
Para - A daydream character in a given paracosm (can be based of a fictional character, based off of a real person, created by the daydreamer, or any combination of the three)
Veritbond - A para that the daydreamer has a strong emotional connection to (but this is a very broad term that has different meanings, depending on who you're talking to)
If you want more specific info (or better definitions) about maladaptive daydreaming and all that jazz, look at “THE ULTIMATE DAYDREAMER’S GUIDE”, which is very helpful and was put together by @acircusfullofdemons.

And thus, behold the comprehensive compilation of responses to the aforementioned inquiries.
REASONS WHY YOU WANT TO SURVIVE THIS PHASE
The reason why I strive to endure this phase is rooted in my unwavering determination to emerge stronger, wiser, and more resilient. With each challenge faced and obstacle overcome, I embrace the opportunity for growth, knowing that perseverance in this moment lays the foundation for a brighter future ahead.
REASONS WHY YOU SMILE TODAY
Numerous factors have contributed to my smiles today, including the comforting presence of my cat, the soothing melodies of music, and the cherished company of loved ones. However, in truth, today has proven quite exhausting for me.
THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY AND DISSAPOINTED
An array of joys fills my days, from indulging in the vibrant world of K-pop, immersing myself in captivating dramas, and losing myself in the melodies of music, to diving into the intricate narratives of manhwa and countless other pursuits. However, amidst these pleasures, recent disappointments have stemmed from witnessing individuals incapable of extending basic respect and appreciation towards others, a sentiment that I vehemently detest.
GIVE APPRECIATION TO YOUR MUSE
Hello Yunah, I'm thrilled to have crossed paths with you in my K-pop journey. Witnessing your debut alongside Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha fills me with immense joy. Despite the recent trials we've faced, I take pride in seeing you navigate this phase just like I do! Watching your debut, even though I didn't follow you since 'Survival R U Next,' has revealed your incredible strength in overcoming challenges to become an illustrious member of Illit. Despite the hate comments and doubts about your suitability for this debut concept, please ignore them! You shine brilliantly on stage with this concept, and I adore you, Yunah <3
WHATS YOUR GOALS AFTER YOU LEAVE THIS PHASE
My goals after transitioning from this phase encompass a spectrum of aspirations aimed at personal growth, professional advancement, and meaningful contributions to society. From honing my skills and pursuing further education to actively engaging in causes I'm passionate about and fostering deeper connections with loved ones, I envision a future defined by purpose, fulfillment, and continuous self-improvement.
3 FAVORITE SONGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY
PHASE YOU REMEMBER THE MOST
I will choose the first phase because it was there that I experienced euphoria when verified to become one of the Daydreams. While all phases were enjoyable, I will hold the first phase as the most memorable for me.
THINGS YOU WANT TO SAY TO PEACHES
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for this incredibly joyful month, Peaches! Thank you, Kak Adit and Kak Denis, for providing this vibrant home where I could meet such extraordinary Daydreams, and of course, for the sheer happiness of getting to know both of you. Though our time together was brief, these beautiful memories will remain among the happiest moments I'll cherish forever. With love, Rayana.
SAY THANKYOU TO YOURSELF
Dear myself, thank you for being born and becoming the person I am today, Rayana. I love and cherish you, and I am proud of you.
End of The Threads. Regards, 𝗬𝗱𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗵.

How I Overcame My Writers Block
Hey y’all! This is an original post, so make sure to tag me @thecomfywriter if you want to repost it anywhere or whatever lol. Hope this helps!
Writer’s Block sucks. It’s the bane of a writer’s existence and the enemy of creativity. When it comes, it’s draining and makes it near impossible to be productive with writing. So how do we overcome writer’s block to make sure we get our WIP’s done? FEAR NOT, for I am here with advice on what I personally did to overcome my writer’s block.
1. Change your medium
I’ve never seen this advice anywhere before, which is odd because it legit saves me every. single. time. I like to write on my laptop, typing away at a google doc. Sometimes, it becomes tiring and I get burnt out, especially with online school also being on docs. Instead, what I like to do is change up my creative medium. whether that means handwriting my WIP 94 switching my online school to notebooks so i ONLY use my computer whenever I want to type my book, separating my mediums helps associate one with creativity, and really does allow a switch up.
If you always type up your work, trying switching it up for a day or two, or however long you need! Take a notebook or a blank sheet of paper and just write a scene of your book. Maybe a random scene, maybe continue the scene you were already working on. Maybe write your poetry in a fancy calligraphy font by hand, with doodles on the side. Changing the medium has seriously cured my writer’s block in most cases, so I definetly recommend you give it a shot.
2. Change the font
So maybe you don’t wanna bust out a whole new notebook to write a scene. Maybe you hate the hand cramping. I feel you. Tip, if you’re continuing to type: change the font.
You can be drastic with this, or subtle. Drastic would be if you had Times New Roman before, go to Architect’s Daughter next. I prefer subtle, where I’d probably go to Bookman instead, or Arabic Typesetter. Its distinct enough that I can tell the difference, not enough to extinguish my desire to write because of how much it burns my eyes.
I think this helps because it changes things up a bit. Give us something new to look at, so it doesn’t feel like the same old page you’ve been staring at for weeks.
3. Other Creative Outlets
Okay, I have mixed reviews on this one. Normally, this one works for me, but as of recently, I’ve actually had to limit my other creative outlets instead of increase them in order to get back into writing. Let me explain what it is first.
What’s your favourite scene in your WIP? Has it happened yet? DOESN’T MATTER. Sketch it out! Doodle! Make a fan edit of it lol. Make a moodboard. Find or make a playlist dedicated to that ONE scene. Daydream about that scene! Re-enact it! Inspire your creativity again in another form.
I have fully drawn a scene from my book that doesn’t happen until two books later. It doesn’t have to be a coming scene, or something that already happened. It doesn’t even have to be a scene! Draw your characters! Make them moodboards and aesthetic pages, or bingo cards! Let yourself connect with your WIP in a way that doesn’t involve words. You’ll be surprised how passionate you can become when you take that break from the doc.
The only reason this didn’t work for me this time as opposed to others is because I was using my daydreaming as a method of procrastination. Instead, what I did is, everytime I started daydreaming about my writing, I shut the thought up and gave myself an ultimatum: you rather write it down right now or you forget about it in general.
Can’t tell you how flooded my notes app is now ;)
4. Reread Your Work
UNLESS YOU DO THIS TO PROCASTINATE (me calling myself out right now LOL) PLEASE, REREAD YOUR WORK.
If you lack inspiration, rereading what you’ve done so far kind of reminds you why you fell in love with your work to begin with. It reminds me why I started this project in the first place. And lowkey, it shames me into finishing lol. I reach the end and it’s abruptly ends and i’m like “NOOO i need i read more. Whelp, time to write.”
But yeah. When we write for so long, we disassociate ourselves from our work and become overwhelmed in the words. Reconnect with your writing in the perspective of a reader. Let yourself experience your world by immersing yourself into it. A lot of the time, I find I actually start to understand my world and characters better when I do that. It becomes easier to write because not only to I have inspiration, but it’s almost like the characters start to write themselves.
Think of how the readers/audience usually understand the text better than the writers sometimes. It’s because they’ve been observing the world and paying attention to the details by immersing themselves into it. Let yourself develop that connection. Seriously. Reread your work. Appreciate it. Let it motivate you.
5. Change the tense/perspective
This may not work for everyone, but it’s what got me out of my rut. I was writing in first person, present tense. I continued the scene in a different colour in third person past tense.
Holy shit the way I zoomed through that scene.
I’ll be honest— I have NO idea why that worked. Lol, thought I’d just share it anyways.
Anyways, that’s all I have for today! Hope this helps guys! Let me know if you want more writing tips or longer posts like this! 🥀 ✨
Happy Writing! ♥️
