AL-QUDS BRIGADES AMBUSH ISRAELI SPECIAL FORCES AND DETONATE MERKAVA TANKS
📹 Scenes from the Mujahideen of the Al-Quds Brigades, belonging to Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), target and ambush Zionist soldiers and armored vehicles invading the Gaza Strip in the Khan Yunis front.
In the first scenes, Al-Quds forces lay a trap for the expected arrival of enemy forces in the sector. An Israeli special forces unit shelters in a house while a Merkava tank guards the unit.
The fighters of the Al-Quds Brigades then fire an RPG into the house where the Israeli special forces unit is holed-up, then, moments later, detonate an improvised "lightning shock device," completely destroying the Merkava tank.
In the last scene, a fighter with Al-Quds fires an RPG shell into another enemy Merkava tank sitting at an intersection, disabling the armored vehicle.

More than two-thirds of the Russian tanks that Ukraine’s military has destroyed in recent months have been taken out using first-person-view (FPV) drones, a NATO official told Foreign Policy, an increasing sign of Kyiv’s reliance on the unpiloted aircraft as it awaits more artillery ammunition from the United States and other Western countries.
With much-needed funding and artillery rounds held up in Washington, the Ukrainian military has largely turned to FPV drones to carry out anti-tank attacks. Ukrainian troops operate the drones via a controller and are able to watch the machines’ “suicide” attacks on Russian vehicles through video feeds, which now play on a loop on Ukrainian social media channels on Telegram and other platforms.
In the third year of Russia’s full-scale invasion, FPV drones have become nearly ubiquitous on the Ukrainian battlefield. Many of them can carry 10 pounds of explosives or more, and after nearly 780 days of nonstop war, drone pilots on both sides have gotten plenty of practice.
“I used to shoot such ‘cinematic’ videos with the help of FPV-drones before the war,” Ukrainian documentary filmmaker Anton Ptushkin posted on X (formerly Twitter) last November. “Now we use FPV to defend our land.”
But for every success, there are nearly as many blooper reel-worthy incidents. These aren’t the $20 million-a-piece Predator drones that the United States uses to hunt terrorist targets in the Middle East. These are inexpensive off-the-shelf drones that go for $400. They have cheap cameras, making them more difficult to aim at night or in cloudy weather, and they often carry improvised munitions such as grenades or homebuilt bombs, which sometimes detonate midflight. Some are duds. In one video shared on Telegram, a Ukrainian FPV drone gets stuck in the front window of a Russian minivan and doesn’t explode. Others hit Russian quadcopters and tanks that have already been abandoned. “What we’re seeing probably is a fraction of what’s actually happening,” said Samuel Bendett, an advisor at CNA and a member of the think tank’s Russia studies program. “FPV drones have a short range. So even if the Ukrainians lack enough long-range artillery, they can only use a few drones up to 10 kilometers [about 6 miles] because that’s the normal range.”
Analysts tracking the Ukrainian military believe the attacks are having mixed results. Rob Lee, a senior fellow in the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Eurasia program who last traveled to Ukraine to embed last November, said the overall accuracy of FPV drones is less than 50 percent. It’s an experienced pilot who is going to score a “kill” of a tank—and the soldiers inside—with an FPV drone, not a newbie.
Even those drones that get through Russia’s increasingly sophisticated, if unchic, countermeasures—boxes of signals equipment strapped to tanks—might not deal a fatal blow. “You usually don’t kill a tank the first few times,” Lee said. “It can take 10 or more [FPV drones] to kill a tank.”
Still, Russia has a good reason to cover up its tanks with camouflage and jamming equipment, Lee said. It is running low on armored vehicles and tanks. If Ukraine keeps attriting at this rate and Russia keeps sending in more tanks to replace the destroyed ones at the rate it has been, the Kremlin could lose its numerical edge in tanks, which could make it more difficult for the Russians to carry out offensive operations in the future.
But Russia still has more troops. “The issue is that Russia’s getting a lot of manpower,” Lee added.
The all-out use of cheap drones indicates that the Ukrainians are turning to increasingly desperate measures to improvise weapons to fight back the Russian assault, which has moved farther west into the contested areas of Donetsk. Ukraine is using a network of microphones—similar to the one you might find on your iPhone—to sense incoming targets. The microphones are good enough to classify what type of munition is coming in, what direction it’s going, and what trajectory it’s on just by using acoustics.
And with limited air defense munitions, Ukrainian troops have rigged heavy machines with sensors to shoot down most of the Iranian-made Shahed suicide drones that are overflying their positions. The NATO official, speaking anonymously based on conditions set by the alliance, said Ukraine’s hit rate against Shahed drones with simple machine guns and small caliber weapons is about 80 percent. It’s not a complete fix, though: Ukrainian officials have spent recent days urging the United States to send more Patriot air defense systems.
And the FPV drones are not a match for artillery ammunition when it comes to keeping up a high rate of fire or for creating explosive effects. They can also be more expensive. “You cannot replace a 155 [mm] shell,” one Ukrainian official said. “It’s like replacing a Kalashnikov with a small gun.” And artillery is immune to electronic warfare. It’s just a bombshell that’s flying through the air.
The rapid pace of innovation for drones has made U.S. military leaders second-guess big, expensive drone programs. The future, officials think, will be cheap and attritable.
“I don’t think we could buy a drone and say it’s going to be in our formation for the next 20 years,” U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George said. “We can’t do that.”
It’s not clear how effective they will be in the long term. But like improvised explosive devices in the Iraq War, cheap drones have revolutionized the battlefield—for now.
“It’s possible that any vehicle, any system, any soldier that moves on the Ukrainian battlefield right now can be seen, observed, and ultimately hit with a [unmanned aerial vehicle],” said Bendett, the CNA advisor. “There’s no such thing as just moving around uncontested anymore.”

Halo Reloaded: Rogue II
Deep within the twisting labyrinth of Forerunner architecture that adorned Genesis Halo, the air hummed with ancient energy, an ever-present reminder of the galaxy's age-old mysteries. It was here, amidst the echoes of a long-forgotten past, that John found himself confronted by an all-too-familiar figure.
Fred, built like a tank but with the agility of a panther, stood resolute. "John, what are you doing, man? We've scrapped side by side against worse odds than this. Don't make me the bad guy here."
John's stance was unwavering, a rock amidst the surging tides of war. "Fred, you know I can't just stand down. Not with Cortana out there, somewhere, needing us."
Their exchange was terse, the air crackling not just with the energy of Forerunner tech but with the tension between two titans of the battlefield.
And then, as if on cue, hell broke loose.
Fred, known as the best hand-to-hand combatant among the Spartans, wasted no time. He charged at John with the force of a runaway train, his fists aimed with the precision of a sniper. John, anticipating the assault, sidestepped at the last second, sending a swift kick towards Fred’s side that would have sent a lesser opponent flying.
But Fred was no ordinary foe; he absorbed the hit, using the momentum to spin around and launch a counterattack that was a blur of motion.
The clash was titanic, echoes of their strikes resonating through the halls like thunder. Fred unleashed a barrage of punches, each one a masterpiece of combat artistry, aimed with lethal precision. John, ducking and weaving through the onslaught, countered with his own repertoire of moves, a mix of Spartan training and his unique improvisational style. He flipped over Fred’s head, landing a hit that would have floored an armored vehicle, but Fred merely staggered, a grin audible in his grunt of acknowledgment.
As the fight escalated, the environment became a weapon. John leaped off walls, using the Forerunner architecture to his advantage, raining down blows from above. Fred responded in kind, his strength allowing him to literally tear pieces from the structure to use as improvised projectiles, turning the ancient hall into a battlefield of flying debris and energy sparks.
Energy swords ignited, casting eerie shadows on the walls as John and Fred clashed with a fury that made their previous spars seem like friendly tussles. The sound of clashing energy blades sang a deadly duet, each strike aiming to end the battle. Fred managed a near-impossible feint, his blade inches from John’s neck, but John, in a display of superhuman agility, twisted away, his counterstrike leaving a scorch mark on Fred’s armor.
The battle reached its zenith as they locked arms, pushing against each other with the force of titans, their powered armor straining under the exertion. It was a stalemate, a testament to their near-equal strength and skill, a battle of wills as much as physical prowess.
Then, in a moment of sheer determination, John channeled every ounce of his strength into a final push, sending Fred tumbling back. Not missing a beat, John launched himself at Fred, delivering a series of rapid strikes that blurred the air, culminating in a powerful uppercut that sent Fred airborne.
As Fred landed, the structure around them momentarily silent, both Spartans stood, panting, their armor dented and energy shields flickering. John, for the first time ever, had bested Fred in combat, a feat that neither took joy in. John offered Fred a hand, pulling him to his feet.
Fred, ever the warrior, acknowledged John with a grunt. "Go. Save her if you can. But remember, John, we're soldiers. We don't get happy endings."
John released Fred, offering a hand to help him up—a gesture of respect between warriors. "I know, more than anyone." He replied, his voice carrying the weight of their shared burdens. "Thanks, Fred. For understanding."
Without another word, John turned away, stepping deeper into the bowels of the Forerunner structure, his mission clear but his heart heavy. This victory, if it could even be called that, was bittersweet. Fred was left behind, not just physically in the echoing halls of Genesis Halo, but metaphorically, as John pursued a path that could very well lead to salvation or ruin.

Sneak Peak (Colony battle route)
"Move up!" the forward officers ordered. One was crouched behind some toppled cargo boxes, their metal surfaces scarred by recent gunfire. He was calling in targets to the two TC3's positioned behind the marines, their engines humming a steady drone over the crackle of small arms fire.
The turrets on top swiveled with mechanical precision, instantly turning three rebels manning a freestanding recoilless rifle into a thin pink mist that drifted down onto the cracked concrete streets below, mixing with the debris and spilled fluids.
The marines had split into two groups. One advanced, taking positions on the bullet-pocked bottom floors of the buildings, their boots crunching over shattered glass and rubble. The other group stayed back in the shadow of an abandoned vehicle, allowing their sharpshooters with marksman rifles to systematically pick off rooftop shooters, the muffled thumps of their rifles echoing through the air.
The fighting was surprisingly drawn out, the main challenge being small holdouts—rebels fortified in rooms connected to underground tunnels, utilizing the colony's mining equipment. These rebels used improvised barricades and the dimly lit tunnels to their tactical advantage, popping out to harass the advancing marines.
The marines' Kimlec Armor varied widely. The oldest model, the Kimlec A3, was bulkier with a slower movement but had an impressive kinetic dampening effect, visible as a subtle shimmer around the marines when incoming rounds were deflected. The B2, on the other hand, was much slimmer, allowing troops to move as quickly as they physically could with the armor’s assistance, their movements almost a blur to the unaided eye.
Veterans in their A3s moved confidently through the buildings, several of them charging through some of the weaker dividing walls to catch rebels on the other side off guard. Their sudden appearance caused a panic, with rebels scrambling for their weapons in disarray.
The buildings shook with explosions from ordnance larger than small arms—likely artillery from somewhere beyond the immediate battlefield. Windows blew out, sending showers of glass onto the streets, while the ground vibrated beneath your feet, a constant reminder of the heavy ordnance being deployed.
A modified loader, repurposed for combat, burst out from around a corner. Its mounted welding tools emitted a deadly arc of plasma, instantly incinerating one unlucky marine before you could step in. With a swift kick, you knocked the legs out from under the mechanical beast, letting it slam to the ground with a thunderous crash, trapping the operator underneath in a twisted heap of metal.
One marine stepped up, tossing a grenade under the fallen loader. There was a muffled scream, abruptly cut short by the ensuing blast, which sent a shockwave rippling through the nearby air.
"Move the TC3s back; these streets are too tight for them to be effective," Jacob's voice crackled over the comm. Looking back, you saw the two hovervehicles adjust their course. Their massive forms slowly backed up, the squads covering them shifting to cover on the sides, their movements synchronized and precise.
"Monster!" a voice called out to you from the chaos. Turning, you watched as the Hawk stepped out from behind a shattered storefront, staring at you from behind his angular mask. "I challenge you to combat!"
Your marines moved forward, some raising their rifles.
Surveying the scene, you could see the townspeople huddled against the remnants of a crumbled wall, with nowhere to run from the relentless fighting. Their faces were etched with fear and uncertainty. Beyond them, the few remaining rebels stood up, rallying around their leader as he boldly, perhaps foolishly, sentenced himself to certain death.

Class Feature Friday: Bounty Hunter Theme (Starfinder Character Theme)
Tumblr media
(art by Jeff Chen on Artstation)
The profession of bounty hunter perhaps one of the most iconic of space opera/western sci-fi, and for good reason. Bounty Hunters as protagonists have the perfect excuse to travel the stars and see new and wondrous things, while as antagonists they make for interesting and varied combatants and antagonists with iconic designs and only tangential, if any, connection to the main baddy and conflict.
Bounty hunters come in all shapes and sizes, and not just because they may be any species or class. Indeed, some bounty hunters may have codes of ethics and morality that essentially make them a supplementary law enforcers. (And sometimes this makes them actually better to deal with, depending on the nature of the local law enforcement).
Others may not have such a code, and take jobs purely based on the potential profit. These characters end up working with crime lords, faceless corporations, and other unscrupulous folk that put out bounties on others for decidedly criminal or amoral reasons. Capturing those who owe debts, or are considered company property, and the like.
Regardless of what jobs they take, the bounty hunter theme needs no special consideration to figure out why they became adventurers. After all, its baked right into the concept. They might still be in that career, or they may have retired or semi-retired to pursue other adventurous work, but the life of an adventurer perfectly suits those that travel far and wide to find those that don’t want to be found.
Bounty hunting is tough work, and pursuing a mark means many sleepless nights and tireless chases. Thus these figures either have exceptional toughness and endurance, or they develop it early on.
True to their profession, bounty hunters specialize in information about their current mark, studying them meticulously while they track them, learning about them and any known aliases. Once they find their mark, they can take the time to study up on another target, though they can also abandon a mark to pursue another, though the frustration of not seeing a target through does get to them for a while. Additionally, they are quite adept at tracking prey and reading the environment.
The right question in the right place can yield all sorts of good information, and so these hunters can halve the time it takes to gather information by asking around. Additionally they can look for where a physical trail may be laid with ease, letting them move swiftly and still track prey.
Pushing their bodies to the limit, these hunters may seem to their marks to be more akin to relentless ghosts or undead in how tirelessly they pursue them, following for much longer without rest.
The most skilled can renew their resolve simply by reviewing what they know of their mark.
While biohacker doesn’t immediately lend itself to this lifestyle, the idea of a bounty hunter using injectable toxins to weaken their marks, as well as bolster their own bodies does have merit.
Envoy bounty hunters, on the other hand, can use their social skills to help find targets, and their ability to improvise on the fly to adapt to whatever tricks their target throws their way.
Achieving the perfect self is often expensive, and bounty hunting is a useful way to test one’s changes. As such, evolutionists easily find themselves going down the road of bounty hunter.
Mechanic bounty hunters pack the latest and best gear to overpower and outmatch their marks, and pretty much every specialization works well with it, from the advanced tracking of an exocortex, to the support of the drone, the mobility of a personal pursuit vehicle, advanced weaponry or armor, and so on.
Mystics, Precogs, and Witchwarpers benefit heavily from using their magic to predict the moves of their mark and incapacitate them in various ways.
Nanocytes can appear unarmed while secretly sporting powerful weapons and support, making them surprisingly effective solo hunters.
Stealth and observation are the forte of many an operative, making them a solid career path as well.
Solarians and Soldiers pack muscle, skill, and in the former case supernatural powers to help them overpower and overwhelm foes between them and their mark.
The technomancer class combines the utility of spellcasting with the saavy of the technologically-inclined, making them very hard to run from when they take the role of bounty hunter.
Finally, vanguards are all about endurance and unstoppability, making them, more so than any other, the very essence of an unrelenting bounty hunter.
Bounty hunters are a ubiquitous part of most any sci-fi setting, so this is likely a very common pick for most games, though of course not every character concept utilizes one. Also remember that not every storyline works well with the concept, as not every party is going to have the time or desire to hunt others for credits. Still, it’s a good excuse for having a character that packs nonlethal attack options.
In any case, that will do for today. Tune in next week for another special, this one in particular diving into an iconic action-RPG from a very old franchise!

Race Car Ya-Yas
Hordak stared at the massive ship.
“It was here all this time,” he mused. “A riddle of the sands.”
“More like a big fat goldmine,” Catra said, holding her communicator lazily. She had Hordak up on viewscreen, showing off the progress she’d made capturing the ancient First Ones ship. Adora, she thought with a sly grin, would be furious.
“Provided we can get it back in one piece. Am I to assume you are responsible for the… local muscle?”
Alongside the bulky Horde crawler doing most of the work, a swarm of smaller vehicles also helped tow the creaking ship. The cars were put together from dozens of mismatched parts, heavily modified and riddled with custom flair. Their drivers were dressed in leather jackets and improvised armor, road warriors who jostled for rank even as they worked toward a common goal.
Catra attempted indifference. “Yeah, they still do what I say. What about it? You know a faster way to get this hunk of junk to the Valley of the Lost?”
Hordak smirked. “I merely wished to compliment your resourcefulness, Force Captain. You seem quite at home among these ruffians. Keep up the good work.”
“I — ” Catra started, but the screen went dark. She scowled. She didn’t even know why Hordak’s comment bothered her, which made it worse.
She looked back to the engine-revving mob. All the drivers were hooting and howling with abandon. Horns blared. Through the closest windscreen she could see a pair of large fuzzy dice hanging proudly like testicles from the rear-view mirror. Surely it was insulting to suggest these were her people.
Then she remembered learning what a party was, and what it felt like to laugh for real. She remembered the crowd cheering for her. She remembered Scorpia saying she could stay, if she wanted.
Catra shook her head. And what if she had stayed? She’d be queen of an awful desert. Scorpia would be there all the time. The war would stagnate. And Hordak would still be tinkering endlessly in his lab with Entr— with her, the two mad scientists just getting closer and cuter and mushier until…
Yuck. What an awful future that would have been. Catra spat. She’d made her choice.
She was going to live with it.
