sorry im still thinking about how everybody in barbie (2023) is called barbie or ken (apart from midge and allen) and while its disappointing that barbie and ken's friends like christie, teresa, brad and steven haven't appeared i understand why they didn't do that. While we don't actually know if they'll still show up in the movie (doesn't seem likely), i think they did this to appeal to everybody not just people who are really into barbie. like most people/people that don't really pay attention to barbie don't know the names of their friends, they just refer to them as "[defining feature] barbie"

also i think its funny that everybody in that world is called barbera and kenneth. but there could still be hope that barbie's friends do show up if they bothered to put a spotlight on midge and allan (but i still think its all just for comedic purposes, because allan is a forgotten character and midge had controversy surrounding one of her dolls. plus midge and allan will probably have something going on in the movie because canonically allan got midge pregnant and you know, midge is pregnant in the movie)

Yes, but it would be so much more of a slow burn. I actually think Show!Marinette would have fallen for movie! chat noir before falling for Movie!Adrien.

The reason? Marinette fell in love with Adrien AFTER the umbrella scene, in which Adrien showed himself to her. She got to see the real him. Show!Marinette would not think twice about movie!Adrien aside from him being a friend of Nino. She wouldn’t hate him or anything, but show!Marinette is locked up tighter emotionally. It’s that scene in the movie when chat noir exposes his feelings in that duet. That would be show!Marinette’s/Ladybug’s umbrella scene

Aldo, I’ve been making such slow progress on this fic it’s ridiculous. I started writing it before Bridges was even a thought in my head, but I don’t like how the words are turning out at the moment so more editing it is.

Here is a small snippet, I shared with someone else a couple of days ago, though:

Alec startles awake, hand reaching for his bow and arrows only to find air. It only makes his panic grow, flashes of memories his mind can't parse hitting at once as he jumps out of his bed to put himself on equal footing with the unknown warlock. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" The warlock crosses his arms, leaning against the open doorframe to give him a bland stare. "Considering you appeared in my loft, I believe I should be asking you that question." Alec opens his mouth to counter that statement when his mind finally registers the unfamiliar room. "This - this isn't the institute." He looks at the crimson bedsheets on the large bed he just vacated. The thick drapes that cover part of the outside world where horses are pulling carriages and people are wearing clothes Alec has only ever seen in Jace's raunchy Victorian novels. "Where am I?" The warlock gives him an almost pitying look, "Given your attire and the magic lingering around you, I believe a more apt question would be 'When are you,.'" He then snaps his fingers, pulling the curtains wide open to show Alec hadn't been imagining the scene outside of the window, "Welcome to the 19th century, shadowhunter."

A quick note on the Boromir fic, while we're on the topic -- just to reassure folk // for my own peace of mind. Boromir has been a perfect unflawed hero in the story so far in the handful of chapters posted. I have every intention of ruining that. My love for him goes bone-deep but he’s definitely flawed (which is why we love him), so far he’s just had little reason to display those flaws to Sybil, because he had to do what he does best and be a saviour.

…but this is going to be a tenth walker fic, and I really really can’t imagine him ever being okay with the concept of a woman (especially one he feels protective towards) joining the Fellowship, especially with his history as a soldier. I also think he’d be a lot less willing than almost all of the others in the Fellowship to accept the logic behind her doing so.

So for now I’m just basking in the fluff before I plunge us all into the angst. Truly the best part of fic writing.
