(Lú's first memory was from when she was a little elfling. She had woken up from a terrible nightmare - Beren instantly took her into his arms, while Lúthien attended Dior who had woken up from his twin's cries. Her family was the only ones loved them - she has yet to meet someone who loved her eyes like they did. Her powers - they are the one thing stopping her from sailing west and giving up her immortality , times when she feels alone and lost after the ruin of Doriath she wishes she didn't have these powers and can freely sail west.

Tumblr media
PARENTS (Beren and Lúthien):
Lúthriel and her parents have a great relationship. They both encourage her to take her powers to the fullest but also be careful how she wishes to use them. Luthien and Beren always gave a talk with Dior and her — considering their future and gifted them small necklace that can be connected together to make a whole star Lúthriel and Dior always had it with them and they never took it off — even after Dior's death she always keeps it as her most prized treasure. Beren would always tell Lúthriel to use her powers for good — and try to help those in need — like how Luthien saved him. Luthien would always encourage not her to be never dishearted because her parents and brother are mortal and tell her she was made to be immortal for a reason and she must fulfill it.
DIOR (Twin):
Dior and her are very close — they have each other's backs. She trusts him with almost anything. He's always the one protecting her if seome ever said anything bad about her 2 different colored eyes. She spend countless nights crying to him about it. She feared no one would ever love her because she's so different from others. He's actually the first she told and she thinks she's bi. Their relationship however strained a little — when the silmaril came into Dior's hands.
Since she's immortal because of her inherited powers — most of the time Dior and her, try not to argue and cause strain on their relationship. Instead encourage each other to the fullest.
She stays with her parents for a few years — then travels to Doriath to stay with him afterwards. She's really hates separating with anyone — especially family. But Beren, especially — tells her to stay with her twin because one day she will regret not having all the time spent with him. Both their parents know how much the twins mean to each other — so they rather them be together than separates. I like to describe Dior and Lúthriel as like two bright stars on each side (north and south) shining as much as the other — providing so much light.
Herself and Dior shares a special bond like that — and either of them can tell if the other is feeling upset or unwell. They can't hide anything from each other.
NIMLOTH (SISTER-IN-LAW):
Lúthriel didn't know how to feel about her at first — but then she saw Nimloth was kind and loved Dior. So she wished them a bright future and was happy for her brother. She only wishes she can find a love like theirs too
ELWING, ELURÉD, ELURÍN (NIECE AND NEPHEWS):
She's a great aunt— always up to mischief with her nephews and niece. She's the type of a aunt that gives them goodies even if they are grounded — so you can imagine how much they love her. She always showed them her powers ,— little things like growing flowers or strengthening trees.
THINGOL (Grandfather):
Her relationship with Thingol is very strained because of the silmaril. From an young age Lúthriel could always tell the silmaril was bad news. She always could get a strong dark vibe from it. She never understood what good it brought. She had multiple arguments with Thingol as she grew up — but knowing he was still her grandfather matter what she still respected to him to an extend.
MELIAN (Grandmother):
She definitely closer with Melian. Melian understood her views — she was always the one that helped Lúthriel calm down after than argument with Thingol.
CANON LOVE INTEREST:
Erestor — Chief Councilor and Librarian of Imladris - former warrior in Eregion
MCU AU LOVE INTEREST: Loki — god of mischief and lies.
ROLEPLAY LOVE INTERESTS (in different AUs):
@vanifinwe-feanorian — 8th Fëanorian and Daughter of Fëanor
Tumblr media
Wielding her Magic:
She can wield magic — she can command the forest to her will and she can read into the pattern of the stars — to tell if any danger is incoming.
Melian and Luthien both tried helping her hone in her powers— but soon they and her learnt it was better if she was self-taught as her powers has almost a mind of its own — and she needed to harness them on it on her own. They were still on the sidelines encouraging and giving her advice. It's through their encouragement she developed.
However, there was a lot of mishaps along the way — Dior sometimes still tease her about it. - She almost hit Thingol in the head with a branch once and another time she accidentally hung her father downside on a tree.
During the time Dior was in possession of the silmaril - their relationship was strained and she did not spot the oncoming danger. She felt at fault for the death of her twin and sister-in-law, she hugged his lifeless body - crying her heart out. She connected their half necklaces one last time and set out to find her nephews - because her niece thankfully escaped - the pattern of the stars told her, Elured and Elurin was in greater danger. Due to the heartache of her twin brother's death - it was hard for her to locate her nephews - she was exhausted and tired. She crashed in woods and cried out to the forest to save them - in canon tradition among the Nandor of Ossiriand held that they were led to the safety of the woodlands by birds and beasts and thereby survived - for my oc this was caused by her powers - she knew they survived but never found them again.

How would you say fandom culture has changed over the years? What are some differences you notice between older and younger fandom folks?
I’ve been thinking for a while about how to answer this, and I’m not sure I have a really good answer, but I’m going to try.
I’ve been in fandom since approximately 1995. Maybe 1994. At that point, the world wide web was a relatively new part of the internet, and the fandoms I was in had most of their activity on privately-hosted mailing lists (predating eGroups/OneList/Yahoo Groups) and on Usenet newsgroups, with fiction beginning to be available on websites as part of either fandom-specific or pairing-specific archives as well as authors’ individual pages. Fanfiction.net did not yet exist. LiveJournal did not exist. AO3 definitely did not exist. If you wanted real-time chat, there was IRC. I was coming in basically at the tail end of zine fandom; zines were no longer the only way of distributing fanfiction, as fandom started to move online. So I have a selection of zines from 90s-era Western media fandoms but even by then zines weren’t where I was doing most of my reading.
I think in terms of generally “what it was like to be in fandom,” the big-picture stuff hasn’t changed. Fandom still produces creative fanwork and likes to, y’know, get together and talk about fandom. Also, almost every fight or complaint that fandom has about something is a thing that has been going on for actual years. People complain that, say, the kudos button is ruining comment culture because back in the LJ days the only way you could comment on a story was, well, by leaving an actual comment, or sending an email on a mailing list, and this might mean that people who would have otherwise commented have left a kudos instead. But back in the LJ and mailing list days, people were complaining that commenting was going downhill since the days of zines, when in order to comment on a story you had to write a real paper letter and mail it and because you had to do that, the quality of feedback was so much better than you got nowadays because people could just dash off a quick email or comment. You get the idea. Top/bottom wars are not new either. Pairing wars are not new. If you’ve been in fandom a while, you will pretty much have seen all the fights already. I think one thing that is new, though, is the fandom awareness of things like privilege and intersectionality and various -isms, as well as things like “providing warnings might be nice” (do you know how much unwarned deathfic I have read? a lot!) and I sure won’t say we’re perfect at any of this now, but I think fandom is trying way way more about all that stuff than it used to.
There are some fights we actually don’t have anymore, as far as I can tell. I feel like it’s been years since I’ve seen the “real person fiction is wrong” battle, but also I don’t hang out in a whole lot of RPF fandoms, so it’s possible that’s still going and I just don’t see it.
There also used to be a recurring debate about whether gay relationships that were canonical were slash or not. When slash started, obviously this wasn’t a question because there weren’t canonical gay relationships in fandoms, period. But as gay characters began to appear in media, people started to wonder “does slash mean all same-sex relationships, or does slash mean only non-canonical same-sex relationships?” Now, you may be reading this and think that sounds like an incredibly weird thing to get hung up on, but that’s because what appears to have happened is that the term “ship” (originally from X-Files Mulder/Scully fandom) has, as far as I can tell, come up and eaten most of the rest of the terminology. Now people will just say, “oh, I ship that.” For any pairing, gay or not, canonical or not. Fandom seems to have decided that for the most part it no longer actually needs a term specific to same-sex relationships as a genre.
Similarly, there are a few genres of fic that we used to have also pretty much don’t exist anymore. There are also plenty of genres that are well-entrenched now that are also extremely recent -- A/B/O comes to mind. But there are some kinds of fic we don’t write a lot of now. Like, I haven’t seen smarm in years! I also haven’t seen We’re Not Gay We Just Love Each Other in a while. There was also a particular style of slash writing where you’d basically have to explain, in detail, what made you think that these particular characters could be anything other than straight. You’d have to motivate this decision. You’d have to look at their canonical heterosexual relationships and come up with a way to explain why all those had happened in order to reconcile how this one guy could have romantic feelings for another guy. When had he figured out he wasn’t straight? Who might he have been with before? How does he interact with people in ways that make you think he’s not straight? That kind of thing. You had to, essentially, show your work. And these days a lot of fanfic is just like, “Okay, Captain America is bisexual, let’s go!” It’s... different.
Fandom also used to skew older, is my sense. A lot older. I don’t know, actually, if it really was older, but I get the sense now that there are some younger people who are surprised that adults are still in fandom. I have seen people saying these days that they think they’re too old for fanfiction because they are not in middle school anymore. And I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that the barriers to access fandom are a lot lower than they used to be. You used to basically have to be an adult with disposable income (or know an adult with disposable income who was willing to help you out; but even then if you were reading explicit fiction you also had to swear you were 18+, usually by sending in an age statement to whoever you were buying the zine from or to the mods of the list you wanted to join, so a lot of fandom was very much age-gated). Internet access was not widely available. Even if you had internet access, you maybe didn’t have your own email address, so you couldn’t sign up for mailing lists; free email providers didn’t exist. If you wanted to buy zines, you had to have money to buy them. If you wanted to go to cons, you had to be able to afford the cost of the con, travel to the con, et cetera. If you wanted to have a website you had to know HTML. Social media did not exist. You want to draw art? Guess what, you’re probably drawing it on paper! You might be able to upload a picture to your website if you have a digital camera or a scanner, but both of those things are expensive, and also a lot of people don’t have the capability or the money to download pictures from the internet (some people have data caps with overage charges, and some people have text-only connections!), so they won’t get to see it. Maybe you can sell your piece at a con! You want to make a fanvid? We called them songvids, but, anyway, you know how you’re doing that? You’re going to hook two VCRs together and smash the play and record buttons very fast! If you want anyone else to watch them, you are either making them a tape personally and mailing it to them or bringing your vids to a convention. Maybe you can digitize them and upload them, but it’s going to take people hours to download them!
(Every three hours my ISP would kick me off the internet and I’d have to dial in again. If it was a busy time of day, it might take me 20 or 30 minutes to get a connection again. And that was assuming no one else in the house needed to use the phone line. Imagine if your modem went out every three hours now.)
And now, for the cost of my internet connection, I can read pretty much whatever fanfiction I want, whenever I want it. I can see all the fanart I want! I can watch vids! Podfic exists now! Fanmixes exist! Gifsets and moodboards exist! If I want to write fic I can write it with programs that are completely free, and as soon as I post it everyone in the entire world can read it. If I want to draw or make vids that may require some additional investment, but I may also be able to do it with things I already have. Do you have any idea how good we all have it?
There are a couple of kinds of fan activity that don’t seem to exist anymore, though, and I miss them. I know that roleplaying still goes on, but I feel like these days most people who do real-time text roleplay have switched to things like Discord. I know that in the LJ days, RP communities were popular. But I really miss MU*s (MUDs, MUSHes, MOOs, MUXes..), which were servers for real-time text-based RP with a bunch of... hmm... features to aid RP. There were virtual rooms with text descriptions, and objects in virtual rooms with descriptions, and your character had a description, and they could interact with the objects as well as with other characters, and you could program things to change descriptions or emit various kinds of text or take you to different rooms, and so on. Just to, y’know, enhance the atmosphere. It was fun and it was where I learned to RP and I’m sad they’re pretty much gone now.
I also don’t think I see a lot of fanfiction awards in fandoms. Wonder where they went.
Going back to the previous point, the barriers to actually consuming the canon you are fannish about are way, way, way lower now. You can pretty much take it for granted that if right now someone tells you about a shiny new fandom, there will be a way to read that book or watch that show or movie right now. Possibly for free! Of course you can watch it! Why wouldn’t you be able to?
This was absolutely, absolutely not the case before. I’m currently in Marvel Comics fandom. If there is a comic I want to read, I can read it right now on the internet. I have subscribed to Marvel Unlimited and I can read pretty much every comic that is older than three months old; the newer ones cost extra money. But I can do it all from the comfort of my own home right now. I was also, actually, in Marvel Comics fandom in the nineties. If I wanted to read a comic, I had to go to a comic book store and hope they had it in stock; if they didn’t, I had to try another store. Not a lot of comics were available in trade paperback and they definitely weren’t readable on the internet. I used to read a lot of Gambit h/c fic set after Uncanny X-Men #350. I never found a copy of UXM #350. I still haven’t! But I did eventually read it on Unlimited.
Being in TV show fandoms also had similar challenges. Was the show you were watching still on the air? No? Then you’d better hope you could find it in reruns, or know someone who had tapes of it that they could copy for you, otherwise you weren’t watching that show. It was, I think, pretty common for people to be in fandoms for shows they hadn’t seen, because they had no way to see the show, but they loved all the fanfic. The Sentinel had a whole lot of fans like that, both because I think it took a while for it to end up in reruns and because overseas distribution was probably poor. So you’d get people who read the fic and wrote fic based on the other fic they’d read, which meant that you got massive, massive amounts of fanon appearing that people just assumed was in the show because it was a weirdly specific detail that appeared in someone’s fic once. Like “Jim and Blair’s apartment has a small water heater” (not actually canonical) or “Blair is a vegetarian” (there’s an episode where his mother visits and IIRC cooks him one of his favorite meals, which is beef tongue).
Like, I was in The Professionals fandom for years. I read all the fic. I hadn’t seen the show. As far as I know, it never aired in the US, and it certainly never had any kind of US VHS or DVD release. I’d seen a couple songvids. I eventually saw a couple episodes in maybe 2003, and that was because my dad special-ordered a commercial VHS tape from the UK and paid someone to convert it from PAL to NTSC. I didn’t get to see the whole show until several years later when I got a region-free DVD player someone in fandom sent me burned copies of the UK DVD releases and then I special-ordered the commercial release of the DVDs from the UK myself. But if I were a new fan and wanted to watch Pros right now? It is on YouTube! For free!
I think also one of the things about fandom that’s not immediately evident to new fans is the way in which it is permanent and/or impermanent. There are probably people whose first fannish experience is on Tumblr or who only read fanfic on FFN and who have no idea what they would do if either site, say, just shut down. But if you’ve been in fandom a while, you’ve been through, say, Discord, Tumblr, Twitter, Pillowfort, Imzy, DW, JournalFen, LJ, GeoCities, IRC, mailing lists. And sure, if Tumblr closed, it would be inconvenient. But fandom would pack up and move somewhere else. You would find it again. It would, eventually, be okay. Similarly, if you’ve been in a lot of fandoms, if you’ve made a lot of friends, drifting through fandoms is like that. You’ll make a friend in 1998 because you were in the same fandom, and then you might go your own ways, and ten years later you might be in another fandom with them again! It happens.
But the flip side of that is that I think a lot of older fans have learned not to trust in the permanence of any particular site. If you like a story, you save it as soon as you read it. If you like a piece of art, you save it. If you like a vid, you save it. Because you don’t know when the site it’s on will be gone for good. I have, like, twenty years of lovingly-curated fanfic. And I feel like people who have only been in fandom since AO3 existed might not understand how much AO3 is a game-changer compared to what we had before. It’s a site where you can put your fic up and you don’t have to worry that the webhost is going out of business, or that the site might delete your work because they don’t allow gay fiction or explicit fiction or fiction written in second person or fiction for fandoms where the creator doesn’t like fanfiction, or whatever. Because all of those things have absolutely happened. But, I mean, I still save pretty much everything I like, even on AO3, just in case.
So, basically, yeah, fandom is a whole lot more accessible than it used to be. I think fandom is pretty much still fandom, but it’s a lot easier to get into, and that has made it way more open to people who wouldn’t have been able to be in fandom before. There is so, so much more now than there ever was before, and I think that’s great.

Rev. Moon, President Nixon and a Green Card
Tumblr media
iF Magazine    *   May-June 1998
Rev. Moon, President Nixon and a Green Card
Rev. Sun Myung Moon received his status as a U.S. “lawful permanent resident” – his valuable “green card” 25 years ago, during President Nixon’s administration, according to a Justice Department document released under a Freedom of Information Act request.
In a letter dated April 7, 1975, James F. Greene, then deputy commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, INS, listed the date when Moon obtained his “green card” as April 30, 1973. But it was unclear from the letter whether Moon received any preferential treatment from the Nixon administration.
By 1973, Moon already was drawing public criticism for engaging in alleged brainwashing of impressionable young Americans. Moon was causing concerns, too, within the INS by bringing hundreds of foreign followers to the United States on tourist visas and then assigning them to mobile fund-raising teams.
But Moon also was making himself useful to the Nixon administration by organizing support for the Vietnam War and later for Nixon’s defense against the Watergate scandal. Moon’s pro-Nixon activities led to a Face-to-face White House meeting between the South Korean theocrat and the besieged U.S. president on Feb. 1, 1974.
According to a 1978 congressional investigative report on the so-called Koreagate influence-buying scandal, “Moon had laid the foundation for political work in this country prior to 1973 [though] his followers became more openly involved in political activities in that and subsequent years.” The report added that Moon’s organization used his followers’ international travels to smuggle large sums of money into the United States in violation of federal currency laws.
That flow of money helped make Moon possibly the U.S. conservative movement’s most important source of financial support. Since the 1970s, Moon has poured billions of dollars into conservative causes, including an estimated $100 million a year to subsidize the daily Washington Times newspaper. Moon’s organization also funnelled money to many conservative political figures, from the Rev. Jerry Falwell to former President George Bush. [For details, see iF Magazine, Sept.-Oct., Nov.-Dec. 1997 and Jan.-Feb. 1998]
According to other Justice Department records recently released under FOIA. requests. Moon’s legal alien status has protected him and his movement from government investigations into their sources of money and other legal questions. But Moon never became a U.S. citizen.
Two years ago, Moon denounced the United States as “Satan’s harvest” and moved his base of operation to South America. Still, according to U.S. officials, Moon has not renounced his “green card.”

United States Congressional investigation of Moon’s organization ___________________________________
Because of complaints about the Unification Church’s interest in politics, and its emphasis on fund raising, various Federal, state and local government agencies have begun questioning its claims as a religious movement. The Internal Revenue Service has not taken action against it—on complaints about its $10 million income-tax exemption—but the U.S. Immigration Service has—ordering the deportation of 600 Moonies, mostly from Japan, for illegal soliciting. Their visas had been granted for “religious education and training.” But the Immigration official in charge of the case subsequently found little evidence of formal religious education: “As nearly as we can determine, their ‘training’ consists of soliciting funds and selling some items.”

Did you make any money today? Nope. What was the highest place you've ever jumped from? Idk. Have you ever gone swimming in a river? Yes, but it wasn't in a fast-flowing area of it. Is there something you really want to buy at the moment? I mention Venus' terrarium enough, so besides that, I'd really like to buy a plane ticket to see Sara, as well as new glasses. Would you ever consider culinary school? No. What was the last souvenir someone got you? uhhhhhhhh Do you have a favorite remix of a song? BOI I couldn't begin. Has the power gone out recently? No. Do you like driving at night? NOOOOOOO. What do you think is the most saddest sounding instrument? Either a violin or piano. Do you really pay attention to the ratings on movies? Nope. Have you ever snuck in to a theater/dance/bar etc? No. If given the chance, would you go to Ireland? Yeah! I'd love to go on a photography journey there. Are you afraid of standing on the edge of hills/skyscrapers/cliffs etc? Yeah, heights scare me and I have a serious case of "what if I jumped off?". I'm not suicidal or anything, but there's an actual term for that urge that is somewhat normal. I just can't remember what it is. Do you have a favorite species of wild cat (tiger/lion/cougar etc)? Probably the clouded leopard. But I LOVE wild cats. I think lions are the most interesting. Do you have an absolute favorite name (boy or girl)? Alessandra, 120%. It is so beautiful-sounding, plus I love that you can use "Alessa" as a nickname. My Silent Hill obsession is quite thrilled by that, ha ha. Are you good at pronouncing foreign words? I'm decent with German. When listening to music, do you usually tap your foot etc to the beat? It's weird, I actually have a habit of swaying my leg back and forth. Not even to the beat, I just do it. Have you ever literally cried on a friend's shoulder? Yes. Would you ever consider being a DJ at a party if you were paid? No. Do strapless bras work for you? Look man my boobs are too big for those lmao. Has anyone told you that they wanted to marry you/were planning on it/etc? Many times. Guess who's not around anymore. Do you feel comfortable enough to wear short shorts? HELL no. Have a favorite actor/actress from Old Hollywood? (Marilyn Munroe, etc) Not really. What's your opinion on people who stretch their ears? You do you, boo. Do you think tattoos are expressive art or unattractive? A R T ! ! ! What is your school mascot? I'm not in school. Have you ever seen a bear in the wild? No. What's the book you're currently reading? Wings of Fire: Moon Rising. Can you recall the most disturbing movie you've ever seen? Paranormal Entity. Has anyone you know gotten mono? My older sister did when she was I think in high school. Have you ever picked an apple off the tree and eaten it? Yes, actually! It was one of the best apples I'd ever tasted. Can you say yes/no in different languages? In German, ja. (See what I did there lololol I'm clever.) Out of the traditional superheroes, which one is your favorite? Spider-Man. Ever peed in your pants after the age of 10? Maybe TMI, but a few years ago, I had a very strange episode of premature incontinence. It stopped, but it was very weird and embarrassing. Had any surgeries? What kind? I had tubes put in my ears as a two-year-old, and I wanna say at the end of 2016 is when I had my cyst removal surgery. Ever told your parents you hated them? My dad, yes. Very vehemently. I will always regret the letter I sent him. Do you let your pets on your furniture? Of course. This is their house, too. How do you feel about kettle cooked chips? Ew. How strong do you like your coffee? I don't like coffee, period. Would you rather see someone of the opposite sex naked or nicely dressed? Uhhhh I dunno. I guess it depends on the mood. Would you ever consider visiting Texas? I have friends there I'd love to meet, but I don't think so. Too hot. If you could make a movie, what would it be about? Some of the less-upsetting/disturbing RP stories I've taken part in writing. If you were kicked out of your current residence whom would you call? My dad. Do you want a boyfriend or girlfriend? I mean I do, but I don't think now is the time. I need to set shit straight about myself first. Do you prefer broccoli or asparagus? Broccoli. Asparagus is repulsive. Was the last person you kissed attractive? She's gorgeous. Are you racist at all? Not at all. Do you read creepypasta? If not, you should. Nah. Have you ever vandalized? Nope. Would you ever scuba dive in shark-infested waters if you had the chance? Most likely not. And by the way, they do not "infest" waters. That's their home. I hate that phrase so much. Have you ever been drunk at work? No. Have you ever hit a parked car with your car? No. Have you ever slept on the floor with someone you like? Yes. I remember Jason and I made a palette on the living room floor at least one night. It was SO uncomfortable. I don't even remember why we did it. Which do you prefer: french toast, bagels, or cereal? French toast. *_* Do you prefer light or dark haired? I prefer colorful hair. Have you ever read any of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books? No. I remember we had at least one, though. Would you be prepared to do a job that you didn’t like, if it paid well? No. That would affect my depression so badly. Do you think age is needed for maturity? Absolutely not. Do you believe the future is predetermined? No. What the hell would even be the point if it was? Like you'd have no free will; you'd just be a character in a story a higher power wrote. What words are most comforting to you? "I love you," "I'm here for you," "you're strong enough to get through this," stuff like that. How important is money to you? I have a stressful relationship with money. I've never in my life had a stable income because the three jobs I've had were so incredibly short-lived, so the money I DO get, I cherish the shit outta it.. I make sure I REALLY want something, and I mean it modestly, but I'm also honestly pretty selfless with money, too. I'm very willing to leave considerable tips, I don't mind buying pricey gifts for people if I think they would really, really like it, stuff like that. Going my whole life being poor, I just understand the situation so well and want to help people where I can. Is there anything you want to last forever? Love. By that I mean I hope even beyond death, the relationships we built in life stretch into what afterlife there may be. List three of your passions: Animals and their conservation, LGBTQ+ rights, and the pro-choice movement. How old do you want to live to? As old as I can before the point of being totally dependent on others to do things like clean me and stuff. I do NOT want to be get to the point of essentially being a rotting corpse. What kind of love do you value the most? Romantic, honestly. There's just something so special about it. If you could control one element, what would it be? Water I suppose, because it would be the most helpful. Do you prefer foxes or wolves? Man, that's hard, but I guess foxes. Could you ever deliver a baby? I don't think I could. I handle stomach pain VERY poorly, and I know I would screech loud enough to crack the damn sky before it would be time to perform the epidural. Do you think suits are sexy? Yeah. Ever been called babe? Yeah. How old is your youngest sibling? She's 23. Who in your phone has a heart after their name? Sara. Favorite boy’s name? Probably Severin. Are your parents together, separated, divorced, never married, what? Divorced. Do you go online every day? Yep. What is the best quality in the last guy you kissed? The last guy I kissed, maybe his loyalty. He has ALWAYS been there for me. He's also funny as hell. What do you usually do during a kiss? Depends on how passionate it is? Do you have an older brother? I do. You’re offered free tickets to a Justin Bieber concert. What do you do? Sell those bad boys. What’s the genre of the current song you’re listening to? Pop. Can you believe it?? Would you ever keep your favorite animal as a pet? ABSOLUTELY not. I could write an actual essay on why meerkats should NOT be kept as pets. Would you ever sell your soul? Noooo thanks.

Phantom thief of Kugane An priceless jewel necklace disappeared in the middle of tea ceremony you held for your important business partners, with only a calling card and a cherry blossom left on its wake? Or maybe an old heirloom katana catched your eye, but the current owner is less willing to part with it? Aya’s main income comes from stealing (liberating) valuables, and selling them on to be sold on black markets. Maybe something got stolen from you? Maybe you need something stolen? Or maybe you are running a black market, and happen to be in need of her services.
A teahouse regular Aya loves to spend her time in high-class teahouses and theatres. Maybe you catched a glimpse of an elegently dressed, pale auri woman, when visiting such events.
The princess of lost Sasaki family The Sasaki family used to run a bathhouse in Kugane. While being one of wealthiest families in the city, the source of the wealth was not as much the bathhouse, but ties to local yakuza. To strenghten these bonds, young Ayame was to be wed with the son of said yakuza family. Not long after the date for bonding ceremony was decided, an anonymous letter to sekiseigumi shed light on several crimes, supposedly committed by the Sasaki family. After trials, the leaders of Sasaki family were executed, while the others lost their wealth and standing in the city, being expelled from Kugane. Everyone except young Ayame, who as orphaned minor, was not seen responsible for the crimes of her parents. A local monster slayer, Asagi Homura adopted young Ayame just some time after. Maybe you are someone with a link to late Sasaki family? Maybe one of the yakuza family, she was supposed to be married into.
What I do and what I won’t ––– –– –
Darker themes (violence, gore, torture, abuse, drugs etc.) are totally okay, as long as the partner is 20+, and we have a mutual agreement about things!
Even though I like darker themes, Im very much up for just some light, slice of life-RP too! So dont let that stop you from reaching out! :3
No plots that will end up killing my character. Events that will leave scars or permanent injuries (physical or mental) are okay, as long as you talk to me first! 🖤
No ERP for the sake of it. Im married, and have no interest in ERP altogether. Some exceptions may be made, if its important for the plot, but overall, I prefer “fade to black”.
Any racism, nazism, homo- transphobia etc. wont be tolerated! Ever.
Please, keep the IC and OOC thingies separate!!!

BASE CHILD SUPPORT
In Canada child support is comprised of more than one component. The courts will address the issue of base support first. This is also known as section 3 support (from its origin section in the Federal and Provincial child support guidelines see https://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-97-175/page-1.html), or the “table amount’, since it is derived from a set of provincial tables.  https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-97-175/page-14.html#docCont.
Base child support is generally the least complex amount to compute since it can be calculated by referencing the appropriate provincial table. The amount is actually determined from a formula and the tables are the banded results of applying that formula. You can also use the Child Support lookup tool provided on the Justice Canada Website. https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/fl-df/child-enfant/cst-orpe.html. You will note the tables will only provide guidance for incomes up to $150,000, whereas the look-up tool will apply the formula to any income level.
The formula is based on only three inputs, the resident province of the payor, the number of dependent children, and the income of the payor.
Even though the formula is simple, this issue continues to be highly contentious, and the number of cases brought every year to order this amount is enormous. There are different reasons for this. Even though separated couples can easily access the calculation and can easily agree on the resulting amount, a court order is usually sought (many times on consent), in order to make the agreement official. Also, a court order can be sent for registration with the government’s Maintenance Enforcement Program (MEP) LINK in the event the agreement is broken or sporadically complied with. MEP is the only body with the authority to enforce payment. Private collection agencies cannot collect child support.
Again, though the tables are readily available, disagreement can arise over either of the three inputs. The correct provincial table is not generally litigated, though at times a payor parent may move across a provincial border and then a change is required. The number of children is generally not in dispute, but sometimes the status of step-children may need clarification, and at times the issue of parentage may need to be determined. Generally, someone who acted as a parent (i.e. stood in loco parentis) to a child or is found to be the biological parent, will be responsible for support. The determination of the payor’s income (aka Guideline income) is usually the persons line 150 on his Canadian tax return. But, the court will set the amount based on the most recent information available (see section    ), which may be someone’s last three paystubs, a letter from an employer, on an extrapolated calculation of the current years total income, just to mention a few. In the case of a self-employed person, or a shareholder in a corporation, someone who works outside of Canada, or other non-traditional cases, some alternative methods of calculation (including pure imputation) may be employed. See sections 16-20.
Litigation is also caused by misinformation. I have encountered a number of persons who believe that shared parenting will negate the obligation to pay support. This is not true. It may cause a reduction, but the obligation will not negate. Shared parenting is the term used to describe the situation when separated parents each parent the children for roughly equal amounts of time. A special section of the Guidelines states that any person who has custody of or access to a child for more than 40% of the time is entitled to receive child support for that child. So, if both parents have the child for 50% of the time, they are both entitled to receive child support from the other. This is handled by calculating the amount owed to either parent and the offset amount is then awarded payable. The result is that the parent with the higher income will have to pay some support to the other parent based on the difference between their incomes.
Another common misconception I see is the assumption that base child support is calculated using a parents take-home income. This is false. Line 150 is your gross income before taxes or other payroll deductions are removed. And it includes all income including overtime, employee contributions to RRSP’s, etc. Some employee allowances such as travel allowances, truck allowances, etc., may not be included, but only to the extent that they reimburse the employee for actual out-of-pocket expenses of the employee. There are defences to the application for base child support, but they are few and far between. They usually result in small discretionary reductions only. The only absolute bar to an application is that the child is not yours (paternity testing required), or to bring successful evidence to prove you did not stand in place of a parent to the child. If you were married, both of these are presumed in law.
There are adjustments allowed if your income is over 150,000, if you took on a large proportion of the matrimonial debt upon separation, if you are making indirect support (the mortgage, maybe), if you are paying all of the costs of travel required to access the children ( but not always), but keep in mind each of these are at the discretion of the judge.
There is one claim referred to “undue hardship” which will be successful if the payor can successfully prove that his household income is actually less than that of the recipient, and that the payment of support would cause a hardship upon the payor. This calculation is found in the guidelines, and a worksheet is available to assist persons through the calculation. https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/fl-lf/child-enfant/guide/step8-etap8.html.
Persons often ask: “what if my income changes? Or What happens if I get laid off?” Unfortunately, in Alberta this has become a common scenario. Generally, if you have an existing court order, and you cannot get your ex’s agreement to reduce your support, a court application to vary the order will be required. The test for reducing child support based on income changes is whether or not that change is temporary. If you are laid off, you will have to show the court that this is not a temporary situation otherwise you will not be successful.
If your order is being enforced by MEP and you are an employee, your support can be automatically adjusted each year by MEP if your court order says you agree to have the amount subject to the MEP’s recalculation program. This program is useful for smaller, or seasonal adjustments to your income. But the recalculation program is an annual recalculation. Situations that involve catastrophic changes should be handled by court application.
People often ask if court orders must be registered with MEP. The answer is no, but either party has the right to choose to do so, and if they do there is no defense to the registration.
Some of the above issues will be more fully explored in further blog postings.

hey dudes... it’s ya girl... rani. it’s been a hot ass minute since i tumblr rped so here i am because i heard good things about the rp and the admin team :-) this is my baby nadia, local overachiever and tired bitch. this is a little rough but i will have her bio up soon (i currently only have her stats up), but LIKE this and i’ll hit you up for plots!
Tumblr media
( alice t, cisfemale ) did you hear how NADIA MENON is applying to columbia university as a COMPUTER SCIENCE & PSYCHOLOGY major ?! the TWENTY-TWO year old is living in the CARLTON ARMS. i heard that they got in because they are +STAUNCH and +AFFECTIONATE, but honestly i think SHE can be -ENIGMATIC and -FINICKY. they’re a real NIGHT OWL. oh well, only time will tell if the SENIOR will make it til the end.   + BLACK COFFEE, CORNERS IN COFFEE SHOPS, DANCING ALONE IN YOUR ROOM AT MIDNIGHT, NEVER SEEMS TO SLEEP, WORN PAPERBACK BOOKS, SUNRISES, GOLD NECKLACES AND RINGS, BLUSHED CHEEKS, A SOFT BREEZE, SCENTED CANDLES, HOUSEPLANTS, DARK CIRCLES COVERED WITH LAYERS OF CONCEALER, LAZY MORNINGS IN BED, UNSENT LOVE LETTERS.
name's NADIA, don’t call her nads unless you’re her bff
born in manchester, england, the only child of her software developer father, sachin menon, and her bakery manager mother, min “carrie” menon.
due to her parents’ long hours and her lack of siblings or extended family around her, she often times found herself alone, forcing herself to fill in the gaps with imaginary friends, books, and a cat named ‘floof’ by her and her neighbour.
the menon family lived a comfortable lifestyle in the city, getting to send nadia to a better than average school, where nadia flourished in sciences and maths. summers were spent in between malaysia, india and china, where nadia would spend her time with extended family
fast forward to the age of fourteen, things are going well, nadia is well liked among her classmates, her parents have advanced in their jobs and everything is going well... until her father gets a promotion - and the menons’ get to move across the ocean and to san francisco, california. nadia, obviously, is furious. going from moderately popular to the new girl in town was not her idea of a good time.
and so the menons finally reach san francisco, where nadia is miserable and carrie is a bit more than annoyed at sachin. nadia eventually settles in to her high school, launching herself back into popularity as she makes the dance team, and by some stroke of luck, the cheer team. tensions start to brew between carrie and sachin, which nadia starts to notice. she envelopes herself in schoolwork and clubs, joining a record number for the school.
the breaking point comes at the end of her senior year, where her parents announce that they’d be getting a divorce, even noting that they’d only stayed together because she was still under their care. nadia, furious, went off on both of them, vowing to never return to the home. her parents have attempted to sway her opinion, with her father paying for her entire undergraduate studies and her mother sending her checks for rent (and a little extra) every month. these obviously don’t work, but nadia works this to her advantage, and gets to use her tutoring/barista income to pay for luxuries like makeup and clothing
oh yeah she’s a barista and an on campus tutor - you need help with writing, any of your computer science courses, math, or science? she’s your gal. she’s (almost) at the top of her class.
she’s a COMPUTER SCIENCE & PSYCHOLOGY major - queue late nights trying to understand her coursework and banging her head on her desk because her code is coming out with too many errors. she loves it though, really.
P E R S O N A L I T Y - kind but quiet - has a different personality for everyone she meets, therefore making it hard to actually figure it out. she’s vague about her past and family, even her closest of friends don’t know what’s going on with her. behind all the mystery, nadia is eager to please and desperate to be liked, a nod to her high school popularity. she’s somewhat of a hopeless romantic, though the notion is hardened because of her parents’ divorce. exudes big brain energy - homegirl is a computer science AND psychology major, you think she parties? no. she studies and studies only. will indulge in a glass of wine once in a while.
wanted plots !!
tutorship !!! give her someone with absolutely zero brain cells for her to tutor. give her a student athlete who needs to pass but absolutely does not like class. give her a rich kid who could care less but needs to stay in school to make sure daddy pays for their degree!!!
exes - someone who hated the fact that she was always studying and never wanted to go out, someone she dumped because they cheated, someone who hooked up with her on a bet and she found out !!! anyone !! bonus: hateships !!!!!
enemies - academic rivals !!!!! coworkers who are trying to sell the most lattes this week. the person who always sits in her unassigned lecture seat.
coworkers/customers - she’s a tutor and a barista at an overpriced hipster cafe - let the possibilities flow
friends - friends who force her to get out of the house, friends who are a tornado in her perfectly organized life, friends who fell out because of her stubbornness, friends who are awful influences, friends who can count on nadia to get them at the end of the night.

Hello~ Hello~ dear Victor!! Such a bright smile on your face, I would assume that you feel much better now after what happened, hahaha~
If that the case then GOOD!!! Because a sad and crying face does not suit you my dear friend~ but if ya still have troubles just tell me and I shall put such a lovely show that would make you laugh and smile your heart out!!
{ @idv-ask-the-showman }
Tumblr media
Thank you for your concern and offer. I wouldn't want to trouble you too much for a single show but if it's for everyone else, I wouldn't have too much qualms about attending a marvelous event.
A bright smile? Well, the recent matches I have been in were quite something with a few funny moments inbetween. A good portion have been with the newest survivor Ms. Qi Shiyi - she's very skillful don't you think? I do feel bad for the aftermath of her hits on all of you on the hunters' side. Should I make it a priority to deliver ointment when she's scheduled?

Some good news happening here!
Almost a month and a half ago, I applied for a fiction editor position at Scarsdale Publishing. The editing manager liked my resume and cover letter, and she asked me to complete some editing samples. Those steps were done within a week. Ever since, it has been a waiting game as they look over the samples of their candidates.
They emailed me again on Friday, asking to complete a phone interview, the last step of the interview process. Tonight, I had my phone interview with them.
I was offered the position. I will be joining the Scarsdale team!
I am extremely excited, as this is a job that’s in my field and reading genres that I enjoy reading.
I will be keeping my part-time job in retail for the foreseeable future, as royalties take a while to get sent out, and I need income to sustain me until I get my first royalties.
But, because this is a remote position, I will be able to be very flexible in my hours that I spend editing and spend on here.
My days off will vary each week, and I will spend a good chunk of my am hours doing editing, as I am more productive in the mornings, but once I have settled in, I will be here to rp on those days off.
Expect more activity, as I am extremely pumped about all of this, and I think it will rejuvenate the muse!

Incoming transmission: Space Adventure RP Penpal Wanted
Hi there! My name is Commander Ten, I’ve been orbiting star 396-2 for about a week now. If you want to be my intergalactic penpal, let me know!
{Hey there! I’m Ten, an aspiring author and space geek! I love writing sci-fi and I thought that this would be a fun way to connect and share the stories that I love to make. You can be a relative, partner ;) friend, space base personnel, or whatever you’d like! I’ll write the letters (story) real time, so day 7 will be the first message, and the next letter will probably be about a week later, on day 14. I’ll tell you about my wacky crew, the supernatural encounters, as well as let you know a bit about myself as a space Commander. If you want to also do regular pen-pal exchanges of drawings, recipes, gifts, treats or letters, let me know, but this will be majorly a space RP where I’m reporting back to earth.
Email me at [email protected] if you’re interested, and I’ll send you my address so we can start corresponding! Any age or gender is fine, as long as you enjoy a good story and are willing to write at least twice a month.
Thanks!}

Survey #289
“life by life / waste to waste / i’m the harbinger, the master of decay”
How often do you watch the news? Never. Would you rather read the news online? Yeah. Speaking of being online, what website do you visit the most? YouTube. Have you ever held a snake? Plenty. Ever caught a turtle? What about a crawfish? Turtles, yes, as a kid. Please do not take animals out of the wild for no good reason, people. I never touched crawfish because they looked scary lmao. Have you ever eaten gumbo? Idk what that is. Or do you not like spicy food? I enjoy spicy food, but not nearly as much as when I was a teen. Back then, I loved the adrenaline rush, now I just wanna enjoy my food like a normal person, lol. Do you own a bottle of hand sanitizer? Do you like how it smells? Does anyone NOT at this time? Or even before, really? But anyway, no, I don't like the smell. Do you own a pool table? What about an air hockey table? Or a foosball table? Okay so one of the coolest things we had when I was younger was this table that had different "tops" to change out to turn it into various games like these. Like, it was all in one. I don't THINK we still have it? Do you live with your parents? Are you cool with that? I live with my mom, and right now, it's the better idea for many reasons. I feel like shit about it, though. I'm nearly 25. Even if I was financially independent though, I would not be able to handle living all alone with my depression and all. When did/when do you want to move out? Hopefully when I have a stable job and long-term relationship. Have you ever been on a cruise? No. Are you better at catching or throwing? Probably throwing. I can't catch for shit. Do you ever play computer games? Just WoW nowadays. Did you used to have a lunchbox? Yeah, I went through a few. How often do you/did you bring your lunch to school? Whenever I didn't like what was on the menu. And mind you, I was and still am very picky. What was/is your favorite school lunch? I think the chicken sandwiches. When was the last time you wore a hat? What kind of hat was it? Oh yikes, who on Earth knows. It has to have been years. Maybe a Carolina Hurricanes one to a hockey game I went to with Dad. I don't really wear hats. Have you ever tried to ghost hunt? If so, did you catch anything? No. Do you prefer gold or silver? What about diamonds or pearls? Earrings or bracelets? Necklace or rings? Or are you not a jewelry person? Gold; diamonds; earrings; rings (I think). I don't care all that much about jewelry, though. Have you ever made jewelry? Not really, just kiddy crafts stuff. Do you have any unique hobbies? Meerkat RP. Have you ever broken a window? If so, what with? I don't believe so, no. Have you ever had surgery? If so, what on? Yeah. I had tubes put in my ears as a kid, and I had a cyst removed from... directly above my ass lmaoooo. Pilonidal cysts are awesome. Do you know any boys named Ashley or Lesley or Lynn? I don't believe so. Do you prefer coffee or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate, for sure. Do you like green tea? Tea is gross. Do you like to play Freecell? What about Hearts? Or Mahjong? I only know Mahjong, and I've never played that. I used to watch Mom play it on the computer as a kid, though. Idr the rules. Does your family own guns? No. Have you ever been given flowers? Were they from a relative or someone special? Both. Have you ever ridden on a motorcycle? No, and I doubt I will. I'm not like... really scared of them, as a matter of fact they seem really fun, they're just too risky for my liking. Have you ever seen a dead body? At an open-casket wake, yes. What does your umbrella look like? It's just an ordinary black one. Is anyone you know pregnant? HOLY FUCK, I think 90% of my Facebook friends are preggo. It seems like EVERYONE is expecting. Ha, one of my closest friends is legit pregnant with triplets after JUST having a son... She's in for a ride. Does your family do reunion gatherings? No, we're too spread out. What would you order to drink if you were in a bar right now? A strawberry sangria sounds pretty great. When was the last time you had a first kiss? I'm guessing you mean like, my first kiss with the last person I was with? A few summers ago when we were out on the porch making s'mores and dancing like some cheesy fucks lmao. How many homes have you ever lived in? If you don't count the apartment I wasn't an official resident of or staying with a friend for a month due to homelessness, we just moved into our fifth. Or sixth. It's too early when I'm taking this for math. Have you ever donated money to charity? Yeah. What’s your favourite type of exercise? Swimming. How many jobs have you had? Three or four... I'm not even sure because they were so incredibly short because fuck me and my anxiety, right? Who do you stalk the most through Facebook? Nobody. Have you ever deleted your Facebook, then brought it back? No. Write the first song that pops into your head: Well, I'm listening to "Freak On a Leash" right now. Has anything interesting come for you in the mail lately, besides bills? Nah. What is your main responsibility each day? Making sure my cat has food, water, and a clean litterbox. Do you feel like you fulfill those responsibilities? Yeah. I've slacked on the box before on bad mental health days where I can barely force myself to do anything, but I'm usually on top of it. Were you in the wrong during your last argument with someone? I don't recall what my last argument was. I think something w/ Mom. What bands did you used to love, that you don’t listen to much anymore? Hm. It's pretty rare I leave behind bands I've LOVED, so. Are you counting down to anything? tomorrow crihmus When was the last time you used spray paint? Oh, I have no idea. Maybe for an art project in HS? What color are the chairs at your kitchen table? Brown. Have you ever or do you plan on donating to any charities? Which ones? I've donated to some you would like pass by in the store if I had some spare coins or dollars on me, and when I cut my hair to as short as it is now, I donated it all to Children With Hair Loss. One of my most cherished memories is getting the certificate that it was used. I'm sure there's more, especially for school, but idr them. I 110% want to donate to charity streams when I have my own income source. Do you believe that life only gets harder or easier? I mean, this depends on your unique life. Do you know the middle name of the last person you kissed? Hm. I don't think Girt has a middle name, and I don't think Tyler ever told me because he was embarrassed by it. I know Sara's. Have you ever had sex with 2 different people in the same week? No. Who is the friendliest person you know? Probably my friend Girt. Last song you listened to? "Milk and Cookies" by Melanie Martinez is on rn. Something that annoys you about summer: Just ONE thing???? Just about everything does. The only thing I enjoy is all the flowers. Well hell, that's even mostly a spring thing. It's mostly just... plain green in the summer. At least here. Too hot for damn flowers to survive. Something that annoys you about winter: The fact that if it snows here, we get barely anything at all. e_e Are the doors of your fridge side by side or on top of one another? Side by side. When was the last time you burned a body part other than your hands/fingers? I actually just burned the roof of my mouth yesterday. If you’ve moved out of the house you were born in, do you know the people who live in that house now? Nope. What’s one food that you eat more than twice a week? Definitely some form of bread. Do you like zombie movies? No opinion, really. What's the grossest/worst thing you’ve ever seen in a public restroom? UGH. This one time I was in the bathroom with Colleen (it's a girl thing lmao) at a gas station, she did what she normally does and checks under the seat, aND IT WAS COVERED IN BLOOD. It was fucking disgusting. What’s the most wasteful thing you regularly do? Ugh... use plastic bags when disposing of Roman's "business" in the litterbox. I feel absolutely awful using one every other day. If I wait any longer than that, Mom gets mad. What’s the most difficult apology you’ve ever had to give? Probably to Jason via that letter. That honestly wasn't that difficult after having fully accepted I fucked up too, though. I don't generally find it hard to apologize when I know I was wrong. Have you ever volunteered in a hospital? If not, would you ever want to? Fuck no. They depress the hell out of me. What was your worst Halloween costume? Idk, I don't remember almost any of mine. When was the first time you can remember feeling mature? When I checked into the doctor by myself. Yes, I know how sad that is at nearly 25. Have you ever had a disappointing Christmas, or any disappointing holiday if you don’t celebrate Christmas? As a kid, there was just one where I was disappointed in what I got. SO fucking ungrateful looking back on that shit. I can't even imagine feeling anything like that now. I cherish Christmas deeply, especially now with nieces and a nephew who experience such joy at Christmastime, and I get to see my dad and his wife and stepson, too. At this age, it truly is about family to me. Do you have any character bandaids in your house right now, or just plain ones? I think we may have some princess ones and some "boy" kind for if the kids are ever over. AKA never because their dad is far more concerned about only including his family in their lives. I don't think Ryder's ever even visited our house, and he's like, four years old. My sister's husband's parents live directly down their road, but still. It hurts Mom and I a lot that we don't seem to matter when it comes to visiting *us*. Have you ever had to give a pet away? Yeah, plenty of times with our old cat nest. What's the junkiest junk food you’ve ever eaten? I dunno, probably something at Disney as a kid. Did you play pretend a lot as a child? Were there any recurring plots or themes? Yeah. I had my "good guys" - a family of alligators, deer (um they were married and had kids don't ask me, man), and some Pokemon figurines - and three big dinos that were the "bad guys." How do you feel about runny egg yolks? Egg yolk is fucking repulsive. The one and only way it's going down my throat is in scrambled eggs. Has a teacher ever tried to teach you something that was undeniably wrong? Not that I remember. If for some reason you had to give up one of your hobbies, which would you choose? I dunno, I have so few already... Maybe World of Warcraft? I almost quit it recently anyway because I was bored and yet it took up so much of my time, but it'd be hard now with a new expansion having just come out with soooo much to do. Man... I dunno. Have you ever hidden a relationship from your family? No. How much do you know about first aid? No more than the average joe, really. Which of your relatives do you know the least about? Sadly, probably my dad's oldest daughter. I know only two things about her with certainty. Have you ever meditated? If so, did it do anything for you? Yes, and all it does is make me fidgety and lets me think too much. When was the last time you got ice cream from a truck? Hm... maybe when I was at a beach when I was on vacation with a friend? I was like, a pre-teen then though, so it's been forever. Do you know any sex workers? If so, how do they feel about their job? Not that I'm aware of. And honestly, I have mixed feelings, but I think I lean more towards it being just fine so long as boundaries are set and there are very clear understandings with each other. And you ABSOLUTELY need to be safe about it. I'd far rather people get off with a consenting individual than in... y'know, other ways. It's not my business, anyway. What’s the biggest art project you’ve ever attempted? How did it go? In high school, I did a huge acrylic painting on burlap of meerkats grooming. I am to this day still so proud of it; I worked so hard on it. I love how the fur came out, especially. I do wish I could do over the background, though. What kind of wild animals do you see most frequently where you live? Excluding the obvious birds, there are tons of squirrels, and you see opossum and racoon roadkill a lot, tragically... Every now and then, you'll see deer in fields in the morning or dusk. Have you ever cooked anything other than s’mores over a fire? Yeah, hot dog.s Are there any items in your house that you use for something other than its intended purpose? I'm positive there's something. Probably everyone has an example. OH! Looking in just my room, Venus' terrarium has saran wrap covering the top to help keep humidity in. What do you hope the afterlife is like? Really, I go back and forth between hoping it's like... this state of nirvana and where you reunite with loved ones and experience infinite peace if deserved, or just the entire lack of existence anymore. I wonder sometimes if I'd want to be sentient forever. But, with me believing in a spirit realm, I don't think the latter is the case. What’s the worst behavior you’ve ever seen from a child? I think I once saw a kid smack their parent's arm or something? I don't really know. Have you ever planned an act of revenge? "No, but i daydream about it." <<<< Ha, yeah, I have. Do you and your parents share any of the same hobbies? Yeah. Mom surprised me when she told me she likes writing (even though I never see her do it), and Dad likes video games. Do you have any physical photo albums? Yes. Would you feel comfortable working at a sex shop? NOPE. Who was the worst friend you ever had? It's funny, Colleen did incredible things for me, but she also fits this description, too... Have you ever campaigned for a political candidate, or otherwise played an active role in an election? I mean, I voted, does that count? What’s the coolest hand-me-down you’ve ever gotten? What about the best one you’ve ever given? I have no idea. Do your parents and grandparents get along with each other? Dad got along perfectly fine with his parents, but my mom and her mother had a rocky history. Grammy treated her awfully sometimes. They'd been fine for many, many years, but Mom could never forget some things and always felt like she wasn't "good enough" in her eyes. I'm pretty sure Mom got along just fine with her dad. Do you have any framed photos of your pet(s)? Yes. Do you share photos of your pet(s) on social media? Um, duh. In 3 words, describe the last male you talked to. Who WAS the last guy I talked to... Do you own any of your favorite films on DVD? Which one(s)? No. Have you watched anything on Netflix lately? No. The last thing I did on Netflix was watch the first episode of The Witcher, and even though I liked it, I didn't continue. I just... don't enjoy watching TV, especially if it really requires you to pay attention. Have you ever heard someone snoring and thought it sounded cute? Besides animals, no. Are you particular about what you eat? In what way(s)? Yeah, I'm VERY picky, especially with textures. Is anyone close to you particular about what they eat? In what way(s)? Yes, my niece. She's autistic and has the symptom of being incredibly picky with things like textures, too. She is the one child I have ever known that doesn't really like eating. Is there someone in your life who can always make you smile? Always, no. Have you worn lipstick at any time recently? What color? No. I last wore black forever ago just to take pictures. Do you like wearing eyeshadow to match the color of your clothes? No; in the very rare instance I put on makeup, the eyeshadow is always black. What song reminds you of your childhood? Jesse McCartney songs, for sure. And Backstreet Boys. What’s your least favorite month? Maybe August. I'm sick and beyond tired of summer by that point. Nothing exciting going on. What do you do when you’re bored in class and not paying attention to the teacher? When I was in school, I honestly always paid attention because I wanted to pass. Have you ever baked a pie? No. Last person you shared food with? Mom. Do you know any mechanical stuff about cars? Definitely not. Were you smiling in the last picture taken of you? I don't think so, if that witchy photoshoot was the last time I had a pic taken of me. Do you answer the phones at your job? I did at two old jobs. Were you a hyper or mellow kid? I was kinda hyper. What are you drinking? Would you believe me if I answered "water"????? Did you get any compliments today? No. What last made you laugh? I think a moment in a WoW stream I was watching last night. Which of your friends is the easiest to talk to? Sara. What was your best summer ever? /shrug Do you have a favourite sibling? No. What color is the blanket/quilt on your bed? Navy and black. Favorite milkshake flavour? Just chocolate. Sometimes I'm in the mood for vanilla, though. Best year of your life? 2017. It's funny how that year started with a suicide attempt but wound up being the best year of my life. NEVER hestitate to reach out for help when you need it. How loud do you like your music in the car? Too loud lmao. Prefer to write or read? Write. Favourite apps? Pokemon GO, haha. What is a fruit you refuse to eat? Absolutely refuse? Maybe like, cantaloupe. Would you rather gain weight or lose weight? It'd to fuckin fantastic if I could lose 100 pounds. :^) I gained like thirty since moving... Would you rather gain height or lose height? Gain a tiny bit, I guess? But I'm fine with where I'm at. Are both your eyes the same color? Yes. Do you like glittery things? Yes, but not touching them and getting glitter everywhere. Ever watched a play in the theatre? Yes, at Disney World and also for school field trips. How many followers do you have on instagram? A depressing amount for someone desperately trying to be a photographer lmaooo. I mean I don't post on it a lot, so that doesn't help, but yeah. My secondary photography account (for roadkill/vulture culture stuff) has more than my main one. How about twitter? Don't use it. How much would I have to pay you to get you to do karaoke? I don't know, I'd be terrified of embarrassing myself. Last time you went ice skating? Never. Painting or drawing? Drawing, by far. Art or science? Now that's tough, but art. Dancing or singing? Dancing. History or geography? Geography is interesting. Favourite season? Autumn. Do you watch Supernatural? I did up to the end of Season 6. I loved it, I just was losing interest in TV, and also Jason and I broke up (we always watched it together) so I didn't want to watch something triggering memories. If you could change your eye color would you? Yes, to either a pure sapphire blue or emerald green. Are both your ears pierced? Yes. Are you lying down? Yes. Is there a tv in your room? No. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? Yeah. Do you like fortune cookies? Yeah, they're oddly tasty. Do you have anxiety? You fuckin bet I do. Favorite clothing shop? RebelsMarket. How do you feel about peeing in a cup at the hospital? Is it embarrassing? No? It's too normal to be embarrassing. I mean I wrap toilet paper around it so you don't actually see, y'know, but I'm not embarrassed carrying that. Do you prefer fruit or vegetables? Fruit, by a long shot. What do you hate being called? "Bee." An old best friend who did nothing but lie about her entire life called me that. What color is the last car you were in? White. Ever studied abroad? No. Ever pulled out a tooth? Yeah, when I was a kid. Three celebrity crushes? Mark Fischbach, Link Neal, Hannah Hart. Ever been married? No. Are you proud of yourself? In most ways, no. Do you like grapes? Yep. How often do you cook for your family? Never. Is anyone in your family a lawyer? My cousin is, actually. Is anyone in your family an architect? Don't think so. Own any crystals? No. Favourite thing to write with? (pen, pencil, highlighter) Pencil. Top 5 favourite alcoholic drinks? I don't know, I haven't tried enough that I actually enjoy. Would you date someone bald? Yeah. Would you date someone who doesn’t want kids? I don't want kids either, so that's the only kind of person I'd date. That's something you can't really disagree on if you plan on lasting. Do you like candles? Sure. Favorite memory with a sibling? I dunno, probably something from when we were little kids playing together.

Kazmir “Kaz” Vietteleva: 86, a genderqueer siren and really just an old grandpa (the only gendered term they will accept). Xe/Xim/Xis or Xir pronouns. The youngest member of a family of sirens from Eastern Europe, having immigrated to the US. Xe made xis living as a trombonist in a swing band, though the war though WW2 tore xis family apart and took decades for them all to reconnect. Kaz left home for good, travelling around and settled down in a small town along the coast, becoming the DJ for a local cryptid-hunting radio program and trying to figure out modern technology. Jade Hassoune or Gaspard Ulliel fc, not sure yet. A old group rp character, full bio below.
December 30, 1920, saw the birth of Kazmir Vietteleva, the third child of shoemaker and his wife, both sirens just about to turn 40, and recently immigrated from Prage. As a child, they dressed Kaz up in dresses and long curls, but it quickly became apparent that Kaz was not the girl they thought. Nor was Kaz a boy. When asked to describe it, Kaz explained that, if boys were red and girls were blue, Kaz was sort of…purple. A mix of both, in a sense, but something else entirely.
Xe grew up not-quite-understood, but completely supported by xir family, and became a trombonist in a local swing band at fifteen, earning twenty dollars a week to contribute to xis community, teaching xir younger siblings to swing dance, and sneaking out to take the train from Queens to Coney Island and play games that xe always ended up losing. But that wasn’t the important part – having fun with other people was. Kaz was sociable and amicable, and people loved xim. Life was easy, time was easy. Comic books and cinema, music, and dancing – dancing above all.
World War Two broke out, and tore Kaz’s family apart. Xis father was drafted, and the only thing keeping xim from enlisting in xir father’s name was the male-only law in the American army. Kaz immediately did everything xe could to aid in the war effort, stopping just short of going abroad as a nurse. Xir mother would not allow anyone else to be sent abroad, so Kaz raised money for the war efforts, bought war bonds with every cent xe could, and sent letters to soldiers without family.
Kaz’s father never returned from the war. The funeral was not enough, and Kaz moved again to escape the grief. For a few years, Xe travelled, sleeping in motels and on couches, calling home every week or so to say that xe was doing okay. In the seventies, Kaz wound up back in America, this time in San Francisco, and stayed until the nineties, collecting vinyls and attending concerts, becoming more and more open about xis identity and pride. Xe earned a good living as a street performer – both a trombonist and a living statue.
Come the nineties, however, xe packed up and moved again, heading back north, and winding up in a small town along the coast. Xe can’t exactly remember, but oh well. Xe’s never been one to pass up a new opportunity. And so xe set up shop in a small apartment, living off xis savings from San Francisco, and starting up a local radio show that, after about five years, ended up with enough listeners to let Kaz support xirself on that income alone. Though the show was originally called Finding Monsters and Cool Music, it’s been shortened to the (somewhat awkward) acronym FMCM, despite being broadcasted on AM channels.
Xe lives in a one-bedroom apartment, with antiques and new technology alike, though xe would never be able to figure it out on xir own. All xir neighbors have stories about helping xim with the modern world, teaching xim about computers, cellular telephones, DVRs, and more, with varying levels of success.
Xe still calls home nearly every week, and goes out to play trombone often, but Kaz’s true passion has become DJing for FMCM. It’s evolved from a simple radio show to a show where Kaz does quite literally anything xe wants. Most often, this is a mix of swing music and a talk show where xe discusses the cryptids and potential monsters around his home town without ever mentioning the supernatural by name. For example, “Today, I found wolf hairs on the jacket I wore last night. I don’t own a pet, and it was the new moon. I’m not saying something is up here, but I can confirm that there are dogs in this town on the full moon.”
(More than a few supernatural beings wonder why xe keeps up the charade of ignorance when Kaz xirself is a siren. Kaz’s answer is simple: “It’s fun to do.” And isn’t that xis life motto?)
