While looking through some older art, I found some stuff I originally did for Insectember last year. I didn’t end up finishing the challenge because of needing to keep up with school, so now I’m revisiting the prompt list I came up with for myself to do some stuff over the summer. (I couldn’t find an official list so I made my own)

So day 1 was ‘Tarantula Hawk’, which I chose so I could draw Beryl! Even though this picture’s a bit out of date (I tend to make his wings more rounded now), it’s still a good reference for the character and I’m quite happy with it!

A tall tarantula hawk wasp with blue chitin and orange wings. He is waving with his right arm and has a friendly expression. He has three eyes; two main ones with a smaller one above them in the center; he also has a pair of long, thin antennae. His head, chest, and abdomen are light blue, while his neck and the part connecting the chest to the abdomen are a darker shade. His wings are a gradient, with a red-orange at the base fading into a yellow-orange at the tips. To the left near the center of his legs are the words ‘Day 1’.

Huevember/Insectober Day 1 - Sawfly

Decided to try Huevember this year and I thought why not combine it with @saturniidays‘s Insectober (or...Insectember, I guess xD)

Here, we have a sawfly! Specifically, a bottlebrush sawfly! I like them cus they look like bees :3
