the cold air nipped at the goosebumps on your bare arms as you stood in the dark. you'd finally decided to go out with your friends after weeks of stalling, only to have them leave with a set of boys, which left you all alone.

you didn't know where you were. they were your ride, so you simply followed them without question and ended up where you were. you were freezing, your feet hurt, you were hungry and just one minor inconvenience away from a meltdown.

your teeth sunk into your lip in an attempt to stop it from shaking. you didn't want to accept defeat but you had no other option, so you quickly dialed your dad's phone number.

"you've reached the voicemail box of—"

a frustrated sound left your mouth as you resorted to texting him instead. within a couple minutes, your phone rang.

"dad—"

"y/n, this better be important. i'm at an event," brendan cut you off before you could explain.

that was the minor inconvenience that led you to your meltdown.

you tried holding in the dam of tears, sucking in a sharp breath. you didn't know why you ever thought it would be a good idea to call him in the first place.

"i'm gonna hang up if you don't say anything—"

"i need you," you practically whimpered. "i-i'm stuck here, i don't know where and i don't know how to get home. please come get me."

he paused at the sound of your voice. "god, the things you get yourself into. this is important for hunter, y/n. you know i can't just leave."

"please," you begged. "i don't know where i am. its cold and dark and—"

"okay, okay, just hold on. i'll try to get out of this, give me some time and i'll be there. send me your location, alright?" he cut you off with a sigh, rubbing his forehead.

"mhm, i will. t-thank you dad, i'll see you soon," you replied, relieved and shocked that he agreed.

"see you," he hung up in an instant.

after sending him your location, you took a seat on the dirty curb in front of you, waiting for him to come. the orange street light flickered above you, on the verge of bursting, and an eerie feeling creeped up your spine.

you brought your knees up to your chest and ducked your head down, tears soaking the fabric of your dress. you heard small, frightening sounds as you waited, like the rustling of a bag behind you and footsteps. you wouldn't dare lift your head up for fear of what you'd see.

after nearly thirty minutes, you heard a car pull up. you immediately looked up with a small, fake smile on your face but upon the sight, a feeling of dread and disappointment filled your stomach.

you put your head back in your hands, sobs wracking through your body. you couldn't think straight, you didn't care who heard as the man who wasn't your father walked towards you.

the warmth of thomas' body radiated onto you as he stood by your feet, looking down at you with his arms crossed.

"what's wrong, mon chou?"

he held back a sigh and sorrow flooded through his body when he didn't get an answer from you, only hearing your cries. bending down at his waist, he cradled the back of your head in his hand and forced you to tilt your head up.

you looked heartbroken. your red, wet eyes almost made him angry. all he wanted to do was talk to whoever made you feel this way, but he already knew the culprit.

"you just wanted your dad, didn't you?" he asked softly.

your chest clenched at his words and you tried your hardest to hold back a sob as you nodded. your lip continued to tremble and he brought his hand to your cheek, the reason for your goosebumps now shifting.

"i'm sorry. i know i'm not your dad— god, that would be terrible. i'd never want to— i mean not because of you, you're amazing. i just mean like... you know, because—"

"i-i get it," you cut him off. you would have chuckled if you weren't feeling so miserable.

his eyes flickered around your surroundings before he crouched down to his knees. you sniffled, wiping the endless stream of tears with the back of your hands.

"c'mon, let's get outta here," he grabbed your hand and pulled you up with him. he began walking but you stayed frozen in place, causing him to turn back towards you.

"i don't wanna go home. please— please don't take me home," you shook your head.

you were making this hard for him. "i can't not take you home, y/n. bren'll be waiting for you."

"he won't even be home! he doesn't care, it doesn't even fucking matter!" you wept. "i don't matter."

"yes you do," he snapped back, almost angrily. "let's go, i'll take you somewhere else for now but you have to go back home later."

he spoke so sternly that you couldn't argue. he held the car door for you and waited until you buckled yourself up before heading into his own seat. no one said a word as he started the car and drove back home.

it was warm in his car but you still felt cold. you felt vulnerable and exposed. all you wanted was your dad and now, if he didn't already, thomas knew for sure that you never had him.

the silence wasn't awkward, but it wasn't comfortable either. you felt the need to speak up and say something. perhaps a thank you.

you opened your mouth to speak but he beat you to it.

"are you cold—"

"did you see my underwear?" you blurted out, a sniffle following.

his lips parted as his eyes glanced back and forth between you and the road. "i— what?"

"when i was sitting. 'cause.. 'cause i'm wearing a dress and i w-was sitting with my knees up."

"i mean i.. yeah," he confessed, looking away.

"i'm sorry," you apologized barely audibly as your face heated up.

"it's fine. not the way i thought i'd see you like that for the first time but," he stopped himself with a shrug. "cold?"

"huh?" you asked, eyebrows furrowing.

"nothing," he shook his head. "cold?"

for the first time tonight, a real smile danced upon your lips. "i know what you meant."

"i don't know what you're talking about," he kept his eyes on the road.

"sure," you played along while glancing at the tatooed arm on the wheel. his other arm rested by his side, his hand sitting comfortably on the gear.

you pushed away every sinful thought that rushed into your mind. "i'm sorry you had to come get me.. but thank you for coming."

"never apologize to me. i'd rather not have you stranded somewhere you don't recognize and i'm glad he asked me to come get you."

with a nod, you pursed your lips before asking the question that's been on your mind. "you weren't busy, were you?"

"hm?" he asked for clarification.

"like— like when dad called you, or texted, whatever. when he asked you to come get me.. were you doing anything important?"

you noticed something change in his eyes as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. he opened his mouth before shutting it and repeated the action two more times before confessing.

he didn't want to tell you what he was doing out of fear that he'd make you feel worse. you were just starting to feel better, he didn't want to take that away from you after your long night. but he also didn't want to lie. his voice got caught in his throat as he wondered how to answer the question. the answer was so straightforward that he couldn't think of any other way to say it.

"i was, um.. i was at the event."

his eyes continued to avoid yours, not wanting to see the way your jaw dropped in the slightest.

"you what?"

"i was at the event," he repeated. "with your dad."

"you were there? so you could leave and he couldn't?" your murmured.

his head finally turned to you. "i'm sorry."

his hand on the gear made a move towards your own, rubbing soft circles on your skin. the action and the way it made you feel was almost enough to make you forget about your dad. almost.

but even though it wasn't enough, your breath still got caught in your throat.

even though it wasn't enough, you still felt warmth in your chest when you looked down to see your hands intertwined.

WOW! What a way to return back here!

With lots of treats and possibly some asks answered in the upcoming days (no worries if this gets lost in the shuffle during all of this)

Just wanted you to know that it’s good to have you back here and that you’re back with a big update as well! Felt like receiving a bunch of presents when I read the new chapters!

I love the dynamic between Ingo and Phione and how much different the overall atmosphere feels and changes before and after Ingo finds out. And how each chapter emphasizes how frail, small and vulnerable Phione actually is. It’s only fitting that the Murkrow chapter being the last of the bunch!

Also Ingo's voice being worn out after all his searching really tells a lot. I kinda imagine it takes a lot to make him hoarse since he is rather loud so his voice being pretty worn out also shows how much he pushed his limits as well. It’s been obvious overall but this kind of makes the picture complete.

I could go on and on about how much I love all the little things that I‘d be here for days. But I want you to know how much I appreciate your updates and how grateful I am that you took your time and rested when you needed to.

I hope you’re doing also better overall. Try not to overdo things for now. Do take small steps. As you’ve planned right now actually sounds not too bad.

Thank you so much friend!! I'm very happy you've enjoyed all the fics; I have many more WIPs coming that I'm cleaning up right now as well, so more will be here soon!

And likewise, it's felt like a bunch of presents seeing all of the notes and comments you have left on my reblogs and works and all the encouragement you've given me; I still very much enjoy creating and sharing this content just because I have so much fun with it and will keep doing it regardless, but reading your thoughts and commentary have felt really rewarding and motivating ;w; (and I will respond to them as soon as I can too!)

I'm really happy you appreciate all of the details I've put into it, it's been fun picking different points where their dynamic is different based on what they do or don't know at that moment! And I really emphasize just how fragile a phione is because whenever I look the pokemon up for information, I just get SO MANY videos and posts about how terrible and useless and disliked phione is as a pokemon (viably, at least). It's kind of funny to me haha

And about Ingo losing his voice in one of the chapters - EXACTLY!! I did give it to him cause I was dealing with a sore throat myself at the time of writing it and was taking it out on him lol, but Ingo obviously has a very loud, strong voice. If he used it to the point of losing it, he used it A LOT. He's not maintaining himself, and I did think taking away something of his that is normally so strong would sell that well. I'm glad it did!

Overall, thank you so much for the supportive and genuine things you always say in my inbox and reblogs. It means SO MUCH to me and it makes me happy that I've seemingly been able to give you something back that you enjoy after you've given me so much patience and understanding when I couldn't!! I plan to still take it easy as I continue getting better, but I'm happy I'm at a point where things can actually move again ^^

Hi , i see you always posting news and stuff about every team amd i’m new to hockey and want to know more about the sport and the teams so do you know how could i do that or what should i watch?? ^^

Hi there anon!!! Nice to meet you :) I'd love to impart a little wisdom on you!

Unfortunately, you're going to have to be a little more specific here.

Are you primarily interested in the NHL? (Or do you want to follow minor leagues in the Americas such as the AHL, or the major junior leagues such as the CHL or USHL, or would you prefer European hockey leagues like the Swiss NL, German DEL, or Russian KHL?)

Do you want to follow one team extremely closely or have several favorites you track? (Like personally, I specialize in Devils hockey and can tell you way too much about it, but I track most of the teams of the NHL to some extent so I can analyze and discuss them if prompted to. Some people only really care about one team; others choose to enjoy one team from each division, for example, so as to always be rooting for someone.)

Do you prefer the analytical side of hockey or would you rather follow the narratives? (Cap structures, rulebooks, drafts, and all that can get quite complex but they're super rewarding - at least for me personally. Other fans choose not to worry too much about the analytics and prefer just to watch the games and enjoy the narratives of teams.)

Personally, I picked up a TON of knowledge from my Discord friend groups. TheBrattPack, noted Devils Twitter user, has a Discord server and it was a MAJOR reason I fell so in love with hockey. Great people, great atmosphere. Another Discord server I really like is the Reddit Panthers server - I don't know its invite status, but a Cats friend shot me the link because one of the people there livestreams the games a solid 90 seconds before my high seas sites. Really nice and welcoming community as well.

Another place to learn hockey is YouTube. Steve Dangle, who recently left SportsNet, is one of my personal favorites - his Dang-Its and Hat-Picks videos are really good to show you some of the things considered Really Bad and Really Good. He also has LFR (Leafs Fan Reaction) where he goes over every Leafs game and points out highlights and lowlights. There's also The Hockey Guy (Shannon) who talks about everything NHL - he is really strong breadthwise to learn about many teams and their strengths (and he does videos for every game), but depthwise you might want to look at other sources. If you want funny, try UrinatingTree's NHL videos - his commentary is hysterical.

Even here on Tumblr, though, there are a couple of super informative blogs. I'd like to think I'm one of them, and you can always drop in my inbox with questions! No question is "stupid", really; we all have to start somewhere. @nhlupdate is really good for general updates on the league and questions, and I recently discovered @reavenedges-lies as well - Ren has some great takes and analysis on the sport, and even taught me a thing or two about goaltender interference :).

But yeah, I think that's the basics of it. See what you're looking for in your hockey fandom and go from there. I can't answer what you should watch without knowing what you're interested in - what teams catch your eye? You might root for a local team, a team who has players you like, or even just pick a logo and go from there. Every team is unique and has its own strengths and challenges. You might find, for instance, that rooting for a team like the Flyers, who are entering a rebuild and won't be successful for a few years, is unrewarding. On the other hand, maybe you want to choose an underdog and avoid a team like the Oilers for that reason. It's all up to you. So let me know what team(s) you're interested in and we can go from there!

I know you write for yourself but do you ever ask your homies for feedback or advice on drafts or ideas?

oh yeah. that's just growing as a writer. i dont like, send drafts or anything, but i might ask for votes on an idea, or advice on something that's not working, or just talk through it with them to get there on my own. one of my friends has beta read for other people and another is a writer herself, so they can be a good resource when im having trouble, even if it's just sending a sentence and being like what is WRONG with the grammar here someone fix me LMAO. sometimes you get advice and then immediately realize what you actually want to do and it's not the advice you were given, but if it isn't what you were going to do before you asked someone, that's still helpful! it's not something i do that often because i like to just do my own thing, but it's definitely helpful when i do.

oh, thank you! it's something i have a lot of fun with. it's not something you can really do in any medium BUT fanfiction or like, a reboot, you know? so i really like to play around with it here. It's like, all my fanfictions are dozens of parallel universes revolving around the same characters and concepts, and i like seeing all the ways i can spin those out. i also just really like putting in references to canon. i always love when people pick up on a line i referenced or something.

lol you're welcome! it was a pretty different angle i've wanted to poke at before, but usually she's too emotionally constipated to even get that far lmao. in this case, she channeled that into a coping mechanism and it worked out.

it's so funny that this dumb little story is what has elicited so much, but i think it's mostly because the responses are centered in my inbox rather than the comments this time around. like, i can check my inbox and have five messages, and then there's only one new comment on the fic. and yeah, i can guess that's because it's so horny LMAO

unrelated, but im almost done with my first draft of the last chapter, so the next chapter should be coming along fairly soon even if im going to have a busy weekend. and now, more spoiler asks beneath the cut

you get it <3 ive loved how many people have gotten it because i was a little worried with this one people would be Unhappy with the direction so im glad i havent gotten any hate anons lmao. it has been so much fun to write and explore. on the sensory front, oh boyyyyy is this girl autistic. It's directly implied in chapter four, actually, though adora isn't formally diagnosed. and muscle tees are like. catnip on butches. it was made for them so like, good taste.

ohhhhh boy. what ISNT in the scene in LMR lol. I have never had a fic outlined like i did for this one. Like half the conversations came to me while i was lying in bed trying to fall asleep or wake up and i had all of that to work with (and tame) when i went to write.

I started working on it in late december and it's been my "bedtime story" for the most part since then, so a lot of the scenes played out there, which is where Scenes usually originate from. i had a really full outline from that. i had so many scenes that i had to cut and combine some that i really liked because they were just superfluous and would have dragged it down even if they were good on their own. or i had multiple versions of one conversation that i had to pick the best fit between, or when it came time to write it i had to buck the outline even though i liked what i already had because something else was a better match.

basically all of chapter 3 is A Scene. several scenes are in 4 and 5, too. i couldn't really pull just one thing but... god no i was trying to pick one and i cant. chapters 3-5 is my answer lmao. chapter 2 is the only thing i didnt have any Scenes for, that was basically just a hole labeled [insert smut here] while i was planning it, and chapter one was finished so early on that there's not really a Scene there, but nearly everything in chapter 3 onward is a contender for The Scene.

You, however, grew to love them.

"Y/N! Y/N!" Bokuto came rushing into your room one day, bursting open through the door and interrupting your not-so-productive study session. You were distracted, to say the least, by everything from your family to your friends, so you welcomed Bokuto into your room.

"Hm, Kou?"

"Boy, you're not ready for this one." His excitement made you smile. "What did snowflake-Bokuto say to Y/N? 'I must be a snowflake because I've fallen for you!'"

You scrunched your nose. "Does that even count as a joke?" He shrugged.

"How about this one," you started. "Depression isn't a joke but my will to live sure is."

He frowned. "That's- that's not a funny joke, Y/N." You laughed, almost sheepishly, not meeting his eyes. You knew the so-called joke had truth behind it.

Instead, you chose to stare at this oh-so-intriguing spot on your carpet. There was some sort of stain, perhaps from a coffee spill?

"You didn't mean that, did you?" Bokuto reached for your chin, forcing your gaze upwards. "Your will to live is definitely not a joke, okay? It's very important and I want to make sure you think that too."

"Mm," you turned away.

"I mean it. I don't think your life is a joke, and I think I know you better than anyone."

"I guess that's true, but-"

"No buts. It's not a joke, so don't say that ever again." A moment of silence passed as the two of you stared into each other's eyes, having a silent debate before you cracked. His cursed, beautiful amber eyes.

"Okay, fine. I won't." You sighed, and he smiled softly.

"Alright, then." He glanced at your desk, taking a look at what he had interrupted you from. His nose curled in disgust. "Were you doing math?" You nodded.

"Test tomorrow." Your face mirrored the annoyance in his: the mutual hatred of studying.

"Do you know why math books are always unhappy? They have a lot of problems." He smiled like a child, looking proud of himself for that one.

Lot of problems like me, you wanted to say, but you bit your tongue. Instead, you laughed.

Oh my, hey there! Welcome back and thank you for sending in this ask! ;D My, they are a lot, but I sure as hell will answer them all ^^

1. When did you start writing?

I think I always wrote somehow. I vividly remember already writing fanfiction about a horse PC-game I played when I was younger, then I stopped for some time during High School and started up again when I started university classes. I had to commute and that commute was like... 3h every day, and you can only do so much reading ^^'' I started to write again and haven't stopped ever since. I think that was now seven years ago :)

7. Favourite writing advice?

Take whatever you can in. Just literally everything. When you look out of the window, sit in class and drown out the voice of your teacher, when you are on a walk with friends and inspect your surroundings. Everything can give you an inspiration.

That and write at least ten minutes every day. The exercise makes writing overall easier.

8. Favourite fic from another author?

Ooof, there are so many. But I think one of my favorite ones which left a lasting impression on me was "A Stranger" and its companion pieces by @loekas . I can't stretch that enough, their writing and planning is incredible, their perspective on the characters and how everything seamlessly flows together is absolutely mind-boggling. Not even to talk about the hot, steamy smut ;D When I read that fic I have to say, I was jealous for a moment in the way of "damn, I wish I had that idea first and wrote it" but then I took a step back and realized that their unique experience allowed them to create this wonderful piece of art and that I wouldn't be able to replicate that. In a sense, they have given me a good new, healthier perspective on my writing and the writing of others :) (Not to talk about that they're a wonderful human being ;D)

9. Favourite fanfiction author?

Again, there are so many! I will list some here:

@loekas - yet again, as their other fics for some lesser known fandoms are a delight to read as well

@lemony-snickers - I don't have to say much here, even though they deserve a whole novel written about them. Wonderful ideas, the writing is impeccable and I'm in love with their characterization of Kakashi.

@kinksandkurlsss - Listen, if you haven't read all their Kinktober entries, drop everything and read them now. Incredibly hot and kinky, always unique and so well thought out that I find myself hanging onto every word.

@whatshernameis - when I need a fix of Obito content, absolutely my place to go. I still hate myself for not having left any comments (yet, I take this tag as a reminder to myself to get off my butt). Their grasp on Obito's character is immaculate, the plot is always interesting, and again, the smut... Holy hell, I'm getting hot and bothered just thinking about it >-<

Otherwise, I read more fics than I read authors (if that makes sense?), and currently I have fallen once more into a deep Kakashi/Iruka hole ^^''

33. Do you receive hate for what you write?

If someone sends some hate my way, tumblr at least has the mercy to delete the asks from my inbox. Seriously, I think I was extremely lucky up until now to not have received any hate thrown my way apart from the very, very rare unluckily worded comment on AO3. But I also haven't written something controversial yet? But then again, there are people who receive hate for the most normal things, which is again extremely weird af. Idk, I just don't get hate, sorry.

48. How do you deal with coming up with titles?

Hah, I don't deal, I make them up on the fly and hope they somehow fit. For example, for my fic "Build A Close Connection" I hust thought it was funny at first because of the phone connection pun. Or "End My Loneliness", was for me a play of words, as both the Reader and Kakashi are lonely in their own ways, even though it might be less visible for Kakashi in this fic. Mostly, I make up titles when I sit in front of AO3 and stare at the empty bar for a few moments, before I come up with something xD

49. How do you deal with coming up with summaries?

Same thing as titles, I don't think much about them until I'm faced with cruel reality of having to write them in AO3. In summaries, I try to capture some of the spirit of a fic and give an insight on what readers can expect. Sometimes that might be a small snippet of the fic, sometimes I write a little excerpt, like a blurb on the back of a book of some sort ^^

I have been really into the twisted wonderland fandom and its been bringing me akot of joy and happiness. I have also played other games, but mostly tome games. recent game have been ikemen prince, obey me, and bustafellows.

I recently realized I like cat themed characters: it was actually funny. Kiyo, Miya, kurama, Yurio, aktugawa, kenma, and im probably missing some.

my favorite characters has to be: Malleus, Lilia, Riddle, deuce, and Vil from the top of my head. I feel a connection to malleus a lot because like him, I always wanted to belong and have friends and I know what its like to be left out and the pain of it all. also I love dragons so there's that bonus too

Lilia I have such an inner connection to, I think its because of his love for family? or something that pulls me to him. I just love him.

riddle: I love him so much. he's another character that is precious to me because I know how it feels to have so many expectations, to follow the rules all the time, and bring to meet family pressure.

Vil: I love because his version of beauty is all inclusive and he's such a family person you can tell. as someone who struggle with the concept of beauty, it is honestly wonderful when you have a character basically say everyone is beautiful you know?

Deuce: is baby and I love his character development and how it makes him so relatable. must be protected at all times. he would make such a good husband

I have recently gotten in many anime, such as haikyuu, bingo stray dogs, SK8, and many more. It funs because then you get to join the fandom and get more x reader content lol

I'm actually looking forward to the future, more specifically after September is finished. I will finally will be done with school and I can finally relax and start the job hunt.

I had actually been in a pretty sad and bummed out mood because of recent bad news I have heard about my school. it really left me unmotivated and I cried many times. But I am picking myself up and pushing forward.

I have been wanting to join new fandom lately, and would love any reccommedations you have.

Reading stories has always been what brought me comfort. I have been into fanfics for almost two decades and it holds a special place in my heart. It brought be comfort in times of stress and it still does. honestly, I have been able to meet wonderful people like you because of it and I cant tell you enough how much joy it brings.

I have gotten into the habit of writing again, I haven't written fanfic in years but I learned recently its a nice way to deal with my stress and a great outlet. it is also a nice way to express my thoughts and not keep them constantly in my mind.
