I actually rly rly ADORE frankengrif but I don't have an in-show reason why he'd have extensive long-term allogeneic skingrafts on his face 😔

okay i don't know if the hyperfixation will hold long enough for me to actually write this but au where everything is the same but the waylon house is just a bit more structurally sound. max doesn't die and is like 'thanks for this guys, is that the whole party or?' and everyone just sort of looks at each other like. well we don't want to anger him so what can we say but yes. and so the nerds and max end up hanging out for a night in the waylon house and the worst thing that happens is grace chastity is tempted to have a beer for the first time (she doesn't though. but with max offering it's very hard for her to refuse. or focus lol) max keeps giving them weird backhanded compliments like 'wow you guys are way cooler than you look, how'd that happen' which is not the best but it's way better than being beat up for daring to be in his line of sight, so they'll take it.

so they all hang out for the night, max is like weirdly chill and friendly, eventually he leaves and they're left standing outside the waylon house like. ?? what the fuck??? did we just befriend max jagerman???? the nerds are still apprehensive considering pete still has a black eye, grace is still boiling with religious zeal and repressed lust, and steph still doesn't really like him, but they can't help but remember how he said that trying to prank him was the nicest thing someone's ever done for him. and that just can't be true, considering he's literally the star quarterback and the main character of hatchetfield high, but.... the fact that he felt like it enough says a lot, doesn't it?

so they decide to leave the prank footage to gather dust and figure this was probably the best outcome they could have hoped for. who knows what they'll walk into at school tomorrow? maybe max will become a friend.

What is Hackle you ask? Hackle is a ship name referring to Miss Ada Cackle (Headmistress and Spells Teacher of Cackle's Academy) and Miss Hecate Hardbroom (Deputy Headmistress and Potions Teacher of Cackle's Academy) from the show Worst Witch (2017). In other words it's dem lesbian witches I keep drawing over and over. They got it all, loyalty, tenderness, THE CLOSENESS!! Just watch the first episode and you'll understand!

Is it worth watching? If you enjoy silly shows, cute dynamics, and all things that are witchy, then yes! But if you're not a fan of occasional bad writing and character development that will undoubtedly be forgotten the very next episode, this show might not be for you. Lol

All that being said have a cute little hackle wip that may or may not be an available sticker in the future!! 🤗💕

by the way i've been going through rtd's non-doctor-who work and the first thing i watched was queer as folk and i have to say. there's a lot going on in that show but my main takeaway is "it's extremely obvious that the guy writing this really wants to write doctor who." there are ten episodes and of those i believe seven mention doctor who in some capacity. the theme starts playing in the middle of gay sex. k-9 is there. the character responsible for most of these references breaks up with his boyfriend because the boyfriend can't name all the doctors. at the end he has a couple lines where i was like "wow this sounds like something the doctor would say" and then the next lines out of his mouth were about doctor who. all of this is retroactively much funnier now that rtd kickstarted a 20+-year-long reboot for the show

#doctor who #like the show itself is not all that similar to doctor who beyond like. rtd having a pretty clear voice as a writer #like the characters aren't similar the plots aren't similar it's a totally different genre #and like. ostensibly doctor who comes up so much because one particular character is a fan #but like. you can *tell* that it's coming from a place of appreciation and knowledge on the writer's part #i don't know. if i'd been an adult in 2004 and i'd seen queer as folk and then heard that that guy was going to be writing doctor who.#well i simply would not have been surprised.#i would've been like. yeah good for that guy. proud of him.#(i also found an interview with rtd from like. 2000. where he was like 'yeah i was going to do doctor who but then someone new came in so #that's probably not happening anymore :/' and again. very funny to read in retrospect)#anyway. the funniest reference was the theme playing mid-gay-sex because for half a second i thought i was watching the wrong show #and it had gone to the opening credits #also i need to find out if they used the original k-9 prop because i think that would be EXTREMELY funny

If you don't like what a new show or series or comic is doing, you don't need to interact. You can stop watching a show. You can ignore what that book is doing. You can create your experience and if you're not having fun, you can always turn it off
