you know it’s interesting how the undertone of everyone’s judgement on this show is always some kind of internal misoginy, as emma d’arcy stated, i keep coming back to it because it’s just so true. rhaenyra herself says so to daemon, that they tried with laenor, several times, that she did everything in her power to have real heirs with her husband who couldn’t perform because of his sexual preferences. but then in everyone’s mind, it is rhaenyra’s fault if her children are bastards. it’s rhaenyra’s fault for not bringing laenor “to the good side” of this marriage. it is rhaenyra’s failing if laenor isn’t there to support her. and in alicent’s mind, rhaenyra just went fucking around men and taking pleasure as she wanted it, not thinking about her duty, all that because she did it ONCE when she was 18 years old with crispin.
