Please|| Jace Herondale x reader
Tumblr media
Summary: you’ve been teasing jace all day until he can’t take it anymore
Warnings: smut
“Love, please!” You we’re teasing jace the whole day, starting this morning when you both woke up and gave jace head but then pulled away right when he was about to cum and just continued with the day.
Then at lunch when you ran your hand over jace's visible bulge and pushed your hand into his pants teasing the tip of his cock with your tumb- as you again pulled away when you felt that he was close.
Now, late afternoon jace has been following you through the whole institute, begging for you touch as you would just ignore him and he slowly gave up the hope that he would get to cum today as you just laughed to yourself- knowing the power you had over this desperate man.
———
When jace stopped following you around, you decided to go shower before you went to bed.
You took of your clothes before you stepped into the shower and turned on the water, waiting for it to become warm.
You closed your eyes as you felt the warm water running down your body.
When you were wet enough you turned around to grab the shampoo bottle as you felt a pair of arms wrapping around your waist, pulling your back against a chest.
“Jace…” you tried not to let out a moan as you felt his hard cock pressed against your ass.
“Why are you doing this to me y/n” you turned to face him as you pressed your lips against his and put one hand up to his neck, pulling him closer, as the other one slowly slides down his chest to his hard length, wrapping your hands around it as you slowly pump his cock, as jace moans into the kiss when you felt him thrusting into your hand.
“That’s right, fuck my hand baby. C’mon tell me what you want, you’ll get it”his head felt down onto your shoulder as he uncontrollably moans into your ear- struggling to speak.
“I wanna feel you… please..” he whispers as the pleasure became a little too much when he felt your tumb on the tip- just like you did at lunch
“You are feeling me”you said as your pace quickens and you felt him getting closer again.
“Wann-wanna feel your mouth around me, please angel…”you heard him whine as he bucks his hips into your hand again when he felt you pulling away from him as he signed before his head was thrown back.
It wasn’t long until you pushed jace on the wall, bringing his attention back to you as you dropped on your knees, becoming on eye level with his cock as your hands wrapped around him again when you took the tip into your mouth, running your tongue over it as jace’s head was thrown back and he had a strong grip on your hair.
You slowly took all of him into your mouth- licking up his length, until you felt him on the back of your throat.
“Fuck, just like that..” you began to suck on his cock as you thrust him in and out of your throat-pumping the rest that didn’t fit in your mouth with your hand.
You hear jace letting out moans which are followed with your name- telling you how good you’re taking him.
“Don’t stop angel, please”you feel him twitch inside you as you feel his cum spilling out of him, down your throat as you swallowed it all.
After jace stopped filling your mouth you get up on your feet as you pulled him into a kiss- giving him a taste of himself.
“Thank you”he mumbled against your lips.
“We should get out of the shower” you said as jace grabbed towels for you both before walking back to you room.

Jace in COB, where instead of Clary being able to take the cup out of the card it’s actually the reader, and when Valentine tries to hurt her or threaten her to get her to give him the cup Jace just gets super protective,
And/or
Reader and Jace are already in a relationship; Valentine needs Jace to do something for him, Jace refuses. Valentine responds by threatening to hurt the reader if Jace doesn’t do what Valentine wants him to, and Jace loses it, grabbing every weapon he can find trying to get his ‘father’ away from the reader while Valentine is just taunting him.
I know they’re kind of strange asks, I’m sorry. Your writing is wonderful!

Jace Wayland Being Protective
headcanons
Tumblr media
summary: what it’s like when jace wayland is protective over you
pairing: jace wayland x reader
warnings: mentions of canon typical violence
note: jace wayland the loml this isn’t going to do well because i’m pretty sure the mortal instruments fandom is dead but i hope you love this !!
Tumblr media
Jace is already extremely protective over you on a normal day.
He knows that you can take care of yourself for the most part, but protecting people is quite literally his job.
When Valentine is around, Jace’s protectiveness goes up like six notches. He’s always by your side, making sure you stay a safe distance away from any conflict that may be arising.
When Valentine grabs you, threatening your life if Clary didn’t hand over the cup, Jace loses his mind. He has to be physically restrained from attacking Valentine.
Jace isn’t one to show emotion very often, instead choosing to bottle his feelings. However, when your life is on the line, he can’t help but get visibly frustrated and angry.
Jace grabs any weapon he can, shouting threats at Valentine and practically begging him to let you go.
When you’re finally a safe enough distance away from Valentine, Jace loses it. He almost kills Valentine before he escapes.
Jace is incredibly protective of you. He’ll kill anyone who ever threatens your life.
No matter how strong and capable you may be, Jace always pushes you behind him when you’re around any visible danger. He would never forgive himself if he let you get hurt.
While he may not always express it, Jace loves you so much and would quite literally die before he let anything bad happen to you.

you turn another page in your book, daydreaming as your eyes stare at the words on the pages.
jace. jace, jace, jace, jace.
it was all jace, the only thing that clouded your mind. you found it hard to tear yourself away from the thought of him when you imagined what his lips would feel like. would taste like.
it’s been some time now, the amount of time you’ve been in love with jace. i mean, how couldn’t you? he is an angel—and lord you hate to remember how that was actually literal—but he’s kind behind all of his sarcasm.
he’s really attractive. hot. handsome. pretty, even.
scratch that, he’s more than pretty. he is gorgeous.
when you think about rain, you think about jace. you’ve always loved rain, so the two correlate.
reading, too. reading is always a fun and calming thing to do, even if you’re teased for it.
it’s not very common for shadowhunters or demon hunters to be so soft, at least that’s what jace thought.
until he met you. he likes your softness. he liked a little too much, even. he likes that you don’t wear an overly amount of makeup like izzy does.
he likes that you’re comfortable with your own beauty. sure, he knows you aren’t confident, which he doesn’t understand.
he loved all of things before clary came. to you, he was okay with those things. he didn’t care about the reading or the makeup, that’s why he didn’t tease you for it.
but when clary came, things changed. you noticed jace didn’t care much to defend you against alec’s smart comments about reading, and he didn’t even protest when izzy suggested giving you a makeover when it was time to go to magnus’ party.
yesterday, you blinked harshly as izzy’s hair curler left a section in your hair. you were deep in thought as izzy styles your hair, smiling as she brushed some hair out of your face.
“what’s gotten you so worked up?” she said in a tone one talks in after laughing. anyone else would suppose she was being sarcastic, teasing you, even. clary probably would. but you knew izzy for your entire life to know how to read in between the lines.
“i just wish i wasn’t here.” you mumbled, looking to the side.
“with me?” she scrunched your hair a little bit, giving it volume.
“no, i’d love to be in here talking to you about the party and if there would be any cute boys there or even the fucking escape route we’ll have to use once we crash the whole thing.” your voice was getting louder by the moment and izzy knew something was up.
“if you’re worried about miss googly eyed carrie or whatever her name is, i assure you she’ll only be here for a little bit.”
“i’m worried about her, yeah, but not in the way you assume i am.” you mumbled.
“i don’t know why you’d be worried, she’s not going to take your spot in hodge’s eyes.”
as izzy reached for the brush, you crack a smile. you were always hodge’s favorite, so, no, you’d never be worried about it.
“what do you mean ‘googly eyed’?” you asked curiously, pinching yourself in the wrist as you asked the question in regret.
“you didn’t see it? she’s like, totally in love with jace,” izzy smiled and grabbed the curler.
your heart drops to your feet.
“jace seems to like her, too. he’s worried about her all the time, he’s the one who brought her here… it’s love at first sight if you ask me. dontcha think?”
you swallowed. you wanted to cover your ears and scream until izzy shut up, but you couldn’t. “yeah, i do.” you tried to hide the shakiness in your voice.
“they’d be cute together. especially with the height difference. i don’t know if you got a good look at her, but she’s your height. short-”
you tried not to roll your eyes.
izzy sighed before continuing. “and it’s a power couple. she seems innocent. not much like a badass. but we both know jace, on the other hand.”
you forced a laugh. “yeah.”
“now that i think about it, you and clary are similar. really similar, actually. you guys would get along.”
you bit your lip. in this moment, you wanted to tell izzy all about your love for jace, but it wasn’t worth it. there was no point. you swallowed. “maybe, yeah.”
izzy finished with your hair and moved on to makeup. later, you found yourself wearing an extremely short dress and thigh high boots. you had to walk to the party and you walked alongside jace, it was the one time he wasn’t all over clary that day and you just wanted to hear his laugh and to laugh at his jokes.
but now, today, the pages of your favorite book tickles at your fingertips as you stare at the worlds sputtered along them, your brain not registering a simple thing.
“that book must not be very interesting.” you hear from behind you, scaring you out of your daydream.
“jace!” you exclaim.
“really? is that me?” he jokes sarcastically.
you giggle and playfully slap him in the shoulder. “shut up.”
“what book is it?”
“never mind the book, what are you doing in here?”
the blonde lets out a breath, flopping onto your bed. “boredddd.”
you’re taken aback at this. calmly as you can, you say your response carefully so it’s not sarcastic. “where’s clary?”
“what does clary have to do with my boredom?”
you almost laugh at this. “nothing, you’ve just been all over her yesterday and this morning, i thought you guys would be in a closet making out or something.”
jace’s expression drops as he feels his heart stop. his breath hitched. “why are you being like that?”
you close your book. “like what?”
“look, just because i have a heart-”
you immediately lunge forward and feel his chest area where his heart is. you try to pretend that it isn’t beating crazily fast at the distance between the two of your faces.
“not there.”
jace can’t hide his laugh. “yeah, okay. well, just because i have a heart and want to help someone out, doesn’t mean i’m in love with them! and anyway, why is it such a big deal if i were in love with her?”
“is that you admitting that you do?”
“no! answer my fucking question!” he demands.
you swallow, feeling defeated. “it’s not that. she’s taking up all of your time and i literally don’t get to see you anymore.”
you walk to your bookshelf and put your book in. keeping your cool was getting harder and harder by the moment.
“well i’m offering now?” he says, but it sounds like he’s questioning it.
“and then? what about tomorrow?” you put your hair behind your ear, reaching for a gold ring.
“what’s that?” jace gets off of your bed and points to the ring.
“remember when we were kids and you gave me a promise ring that one day we’d get married?” your voice cracks as you place the ring on your finger. “it was sweet at first, but…”
as you pull the ring off your finger, jace is quick to push it back on.
you feel the heat in your cheeks rising, going crazy. you swallow and look into his eyes.
he sighs, removing his hands from yours. “get ready, we’ll leave in a bit. and if you’re so obsessed with clary, i’ll ask her to come. you guys will get along.”
he walks out of the room leaving you blushing and confused.
~ clary is all over you, she thinks you’re the coolest person to ever exist.
“your hair looks really pretty, too.” she says, brushing her fingers through it.
“thanks, izzy curled it last night.” you try to hide the annoyance in your voice.
the cab car was extremely hot. the driver had a passenger in the front seat, so the three of you—jace, clary, you— had undid your appearance runes and you were basically hitch hiking without the driver or the passenger knowing.
jace to the left of you and clary to the right.
if you were being honest, you didn’t want to be sitting next to him after what happened earlier. was he trying to say that he still wanted to marry you after all the years?
“oh, please, stop fighting over me, girls!” jace jokes sarcastically. clary cracks up, but for once, you don’t laugh at his joke. he notices this and raises an eyebrow.
“so, clary, where’s your mundane friend?” you ask curiously, starting to think you were wrong about her at first.
“oh, he’s with izzy. she said she’ll take care of him while we go out.” clary looks out the window, admiring the city.
“right.” you turn to your left to find that jace was already staring at you, his gaze low at the hem of your dress.
you’d be lying if you said that you didn’t like the way you looked and felt in the dress and makeup you wore yesterday. you decided that before you headed back to the institute, you and izzy could go shopping. you found a ton of short dresses you bought without even trying on, of course.
“what’s up?” you say, staring at jace, his eyes dancing along the hem.
he shoot’s his head up, caught in the act. you smile to yourself. “you’re wearing makeup, aren’t you?”
you bite back a grin. “izzy gave me a bit, she said it looked pretty on me.”
jace doesn’t seem amused. “i think you look better without it.”
you don’t know if that’s a compliment, but you find yourself with a stupid grin plastered on your face as you watch the scenery outside of clary’s window.
“where are we going, by the way?” clary whispers.
“shit.” jace gasps as he grabs your hand, making you instinctively grab clary’s. he opens the door on his side and the driver stops the car, going to see why the door opened and you start running.
you and clary are cracking up at how concentrated jace is as he turns the corner.
“where are we going?!?” you repeat clary’s question from earlier as you start going down a hill.
“hodge used to take us there,” he turns to face you, who has no clue where he plans on going. you raise an eyebrow with crossed arms. “don’t start with the ‘oh, he used to take us everywhere!’ shit, we went a few times every week.”
you smile. you never realized how much of a father hodge acted as, your parents had died in a battle against vampires, and jace’s parents— no one really knew much about.
“i don’t know!” you squeal.
jace squeezes your hand a little tighter and angrily pushes past a crowd of people who jump at the feeling of being pushed but nothing to be pushed by. after blushing over this, you turn to clary who shrugs at jace’s random anger.
“are we going to see dorothea?” you gasp when you realize and jace giggles.
“dorothea?” clary asks, a little alarmed. “that’s my neighbor!”
“you live next to dorothea?” jace asks after turning around to face clary.
you see tension. you can practically feel it. it makes you sick to your stomach. clary’s going to take this moment to bond with jace, when you and him have been coming here since you were little.
“s-she’s— yes.” clary struggles, looking down at her feet.
“she’s yes?” jace laughs at her own joke. you force a laugh to get out of the rearview.
“i knew i recognized this street,” clary whispers to you as you turn the corner.
“okay.” you don’t even want to talk to her anymore. sure, it wasn’t her fault that she lives next to dorothea, but it was almost completely obvious she got nervous when jace got a little too close to her. you clear your throat. “jace, we’re here.”
jace was staring at the ground and he picks his head up without saying anything and turns back to you and clary.
“have you got a key?” he asks clary.
clary is still bright red as she nods, but she puts her hand under the mat on the porch and puts it through the keyhole.
“after you.” jace smiles brightly as he opens the door for you and clary.
you go in before her, jace takes notice to how you cut her off to get in front.
once the three of you are inside, you start to look around. it’s like a regular apartment building, budget was probably sixty thousand on the minimum interior decorating.
jace walks over to the first door on the first floor and knocks.
“shoo, put my mail at the door of my door!” you hear from inside. you look at jace and smile, who smiles back. this gives you major butterflies.
jace knocks again.
“disobeying bastards!” you hear dorothea yell from inside before the door opens and you get a clear view of her. she didn’t age, she was already really old. she looked the same.
“oh my lord!” she exclaims before extending her arms to jace and pulling him in a hug. jace doesn’t really appreciate physical touch that isn’t formed by him, but he accepts it because it’s dorothea. “jace, boy, you’ve gotten so big!”
she turns to you and extends her arms. “and hello, y/n… you’re still small and fragile…”
she chuckles to herself, but you can’t help but feel a little offended.
jace knows how you feel about this, so he rubs your back comfortingly.
“and clary…” she looks at her unamused and then opens the door completely so you all can walk in.
her place has remained the same over the years. not a single book, even, has moved.
you linger closer to jace as you tour her one-bedroom which seems to make him uncomfortable. like you’re following him.
dorothea smiles as she takes a seat at her table. “jace, y/n, come sit.”
you and jace look at each other. then you follow him to the table she’s sitting at as clary explores the room.
“oh, i can’t believe how long it’s been…” she says, looking teary eyed.
“twelve years.” you say, trying not to make it obvious you’re uncomfortable. the situation is awkward.
dorothea stares at you blankly. “you look so beautiful, dear.”
“uh, thanks… izzy let me borrow some makeup.”
if you were being honest, jace looked pissed. it was stupid he thought he could control how you lived.
“she still looks beautiful without it.” he says, facing dorothea. he doesn’t even shoot a second glance towards you.
your cheeks grow red rapidly, and you try not to smile. “thanks.”
jace crosses his arms.
dorothea smiles wildly at the two of you. “you two still plan on getting married? you’re together, right?”
you and jace look at each other and clary stops. she wants to see what he says.
then jace’s gaze moves to your ring and you feel like you’re about to explode.
jace then turns to dorothea. “maybe. i don’t know.”
you look to the side and jace doesn’t shoot a second glance to you.
is that why he gave you the ring? he still wants to marry you? like he did as a little boy?
“that’s wonderful, your babies would be beautiful you know?” dorothea clasps her hands and stands up. “well unfortunately you came at a bad time. i was just getting ready for bed, but don’t let that stop you. feel free to loiter, i suppose. i really did miss you children. and it was nice to see you, clary.”
she really doesn’t care about clary though, which makes you feel happy for some reason. like you won.
“y/n, you sure you don’t want to go home and go to bed?” jace asks with a smirk.
“shut up, jace. you never used to tease me about that. you always defended me for it.” you don’t know why you said it, but once it was out of your mouth, you felt you spoke the truth. you just wish it wasn’t in front of dorothea.
“i’m just joking,” jace laughs and clary is cracking up from beside you.
you have to finish what you started. “joking? but isn’t that what alec and izzy did? hell, even magnus!”
dorothea realized she wasn’t welcome in this argument and had made her way to the other room for bed. you shoot a glance at jace that says ‘bring this outside’ but not in a friendly manner.
jace grabs your hand and rushes you outside, leaving clary standing there, confused.
“you NEED to stop, okay?” jace spits, holding you by the shoulders.
“i’m sorry, are you angry i’m finally standing up to you and your obsession with clary?” as you said this, you kept getting up in his face. this didn’t please him in the slightest. he didn’t want to want to kiss you ask you SCREAMED at him.
“stand up for yourself some other fucking time! right now, we just came to see dorothea— i just BROUGHT you to see dorothea and you’re being an ungrateful fucking brat, you know that?”
you shouldn’t. you shouldn’t be blushing at his words. they’re not coming out in the sense you would blush at them, so why are you?
“jace..” you feel every wall within you fall. every hope and dream is shattered. “i’m done waiting for you.”
“waiting for me? waiting for me to do what?” his tone immediately dropped asks he felt his heart shatter.
your gaze is followed by jace’s when you look down at your hand and slowly slip the promise ring off of your finger. “i’m done waiting.”
you try to walk away, so he doesn’t see you cry, but he grabs you. he pulls you back in front of him and immediately attaches his lips to yours. you melt into the kiss as soon as he does it, your hands going around his neck while his travel to your waist. it was perfect. this was perfect.
after a good long moment, you come up for air, the first to pull away. you entangle your fingers in his hair and push your forehead onto his. “jace… you can’t.”
another part in jace shatters, but he doesn’t know what it is. “i can’t? i can’t what?”
you can’t help but look at his lips. pink already, and you’d only kissed for a good twenty seconds. you wonder if yours are like that. “we can’t do this. us.”
“what? why not?”
“because you love her.” you look towards the house, to dorothea’s room where clary was watching you through the window.
he chuckles and kisses you on the lips again, this time for longer. when he pulls away, he cups your face with his hand. “just you. only you. always you.”
which makes your heart explode. that was something you said to each other all the time as kids, and you can’t believe he remembered it.
“i’ve always loved you, y/n. did you think my promise ring was some kind of joke?”

Jace Wayland X Y/N
He looks you up and down with his sarcastic smile. You really really feel like hitting him but you wont because you like him. But you cant stand the fact that you do so you do hit him because ur stubborn and refuse to let a gorgeous man like THE Jace Wayland call your name as his friends laugh at you. You decide to stand up and take him somewhere more private. “You know I trusted you. Then you go and tell them those things.” You say in pain. “I did it for you, for us, for our love.” He says, “Well, us, our love, is no longer a thing.” You walk away and he pushes you down and I step on your face because I love him and we were secretly dating.

Lost and Found - Jace Herondale x female reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You find out you're pregnant after what you thought was a one night stand
Words: 1.6k
Warnings: hurt/comfort
Notes: This was meant to be part of a series of them finding out you're pregnant but it works as a stand alone
Y/N's POV
The clang of seraph blades echoes through the training room as Jace and Clary engage in an intense sparring session. Their movements are fluid, synchronised, a testament to their years of training together. I just watch from the sidelines, a knot of guilt and fear tightening in my chest with each clash of Stella.
Clary’s fiery red hair trails behind her as she darts across the training room, her emerald eyes ablaze with determination. She’s a whirlwind of energy and passion, her slender frame moving with a fluidity that belies her strength. Despite the intensity of their training, their’s a playful glint in her eyes as she flirts shamelessly with Jace, her words carrying a hint of mischief.
“Come on Jace, you’re not going easy on me, are you?” She teases, a sly grin playing at the corners of her lips as she parries his attacks with ease.
As Jace's golden hair catches the harsh light of the training room, his smirk seems to glow, accentuating the lines of his chiseled features. His azure eyes, filled with amusement, lock onto Clary's with an intensity that sends a pang of jealousy coursing through me. Each fluid movement he makes is like a knife twisting in my chest, reminding me of what I can never have.
“You know me, Clary," he replies, his voice laced with amusement. "I never go easy on anyone, especially not you.”
Clary, with her fiery red hair framing her determined expression, flirts shamelessly with Jace even more, her laughter ringing out like a melody that I can't bear to hear. It's as if they exist in a world of their own, where I'm nothing more than a distant observer, a ghost haunting the edges of their happiness.
The pain of watching them together is like a weight pressing down on my chest, squeezing the air from my lungs until I can barely breathe. Knowing that I carry a child — a child that probably isn’t wanted by the man I love— only adds to the suffocating sense of despair that threatens to consume me.
I have to sit there, head in my hands, as the realisation sinks in: I’m trapped in a situation that has no happy ending. I'm carrying a child that will never know the love of its father, condemned to a life of loneliness and uncertainty. And as I watch Jace and Clary spar, their laughter echoing off the walls of the training room, I can't help but feel like a pawn in a cruel game, destined to lose no matter which way I turn.
Tears prickle at the corners of my eyes as I struggle to come to terms with the harsh reality of my situation. I want to scream, to lash out at the unfairness of it all, but instead, I sit there in silence, the weight of my despair bearing down on me like a heavy burden that I can never hope to shake.
As tears continue to blur my vision, a gentle but familiar hand lands on my shoulder, its touch a lifeline in the sea of darkness that threatens to engulf me. Startled, I glance up and find Jace crouching in front of me, his eyes filled with concern and a hint of something else—something that sends a flutter through my chest.
“Hey,” he says softly, his voice a soothing melody in the midst of chaos, “What’s going on?”
I swallow hard, struggling to find the words to express the turmoil raging inside me. But Jace’s presence is like a beacon of light in the darkness, urging me to open up and share my burden.
“I…” My voice breaks, and I shake my head, unable to form the words that threaten to spill from my lips. I can't ruin this for them—not when Clary stands nearby, her empathetic gaze silently urging me to speak. But Jace's touch on my cheek is gentle yet insistent, his warm palm cupping my face, forcing me to meet his gaze once more.
A choked sound escapes my lips, and I let my head fall forward, my forehead pressing against Jace’s His breath catches in his throat, but instead of pulling away or getting angry, he waits, his arms a silent invitation for me to share my burden.
And so, with a trembling breath, I whisper the truth—the truth that I’ve been hiding for almost three weeks now, expecting the worst but hoping for the best, “I’m pregnant Jace.” And to my surprise, Jace doesn’t pull away or recoil in anger. Instead, he pulls me from the chair and into his strong, safe arms holding me against his chest as if he never wants to let me go.
I bury my face in his chest, my tears soaking the fabric of already his sweat-stained shirt, but I could’t care less about the mess of sweat and grime clinging to his skin. All that matters is that he’s here, holding me close, offering me the comfort and support I so desperately need.
“I’m so sorry,” I whisper, my voice muffled against his chest, “I didn’t mean to ruin everything for you and Clary. I know you don’t want a kid.”
But Jace’s response is not what I anticipated. With surprising gentleness, he hooks a finger under my chin, tilting my head up to meet his gaze. Pain flickers behind his heterochromatic eyes, mirroring the turmoil in my own heart.
“Hey,” He murmurs, his voice tinged with sadness, “Clary and I… we’re just friends now. Things have changed between us.” His words strike me like a bolt of lightning, piercing through the fog of my despair. I search his eyes for any hint of deception or regret, but all I find is sincerity and unwavering determination, “Just because we didn’t plan this,” He continues, his voice steady despite the raw emotion simmering beneath the surface, “Doesn’t mean I don’t want to be a part of this child’s life. I may not ave expected it, but that doesn’t change how I feel.”
Tears blur my vision as his words wash over me, a wave of relief and gratitude flooding my senses. In that moment, I realise that maybe—just maybe—there's hope for us yet. Hope for me, for him, and for the little life growing within me.
Then, Jace surprises me even more, drawing my face up to his so he can ghost a kiss over my lips. My breath catches in my throat, a gasp escaping me at the unexpected touch of his lips against mine. It's tender, fleeting, but it sends a jolt of electricity coursing through my veins, igniting a fire that burns brighter than any fear or doubt.
Before I can even register what's happening, my hands find his hair, pulling him closer as I deepen the kiss with a hunger born of longing and desperation. His lips meet mine with equal fervour, a silent affirmation of the emotions that swirl between us—a whirlwind of passion, love, and unspoken promises.
And then, just when I think my heart couldn't possibly beat any faster, I feel his hand—solid and warm—resting on my currently still flat belly. It's a silent promise, a gesture of love and commitment that takes my breath away.
Just when I think my heart couldn't possibly beat any faster, I feel his hand—solid and warm—resting on my currently still flat belly. It's a silent promise, a gesture of love and commitment that takes my breath away, filling me with a sense of wonder and awe at the life growing within me. But, before we can lose ourselves completely in the moment, a clearing of the throat interrupts us. We look up to see Alec standing there, his eyebrows raised in silent inquiry as he gazes down at us.
Reality comes crashing back, and I suddenly remember where we are—the bustling training room filled with Shadowhunters going about their duties, oblivious to the personal drama unfolding before them. Heat floods my cheeks as I pull away from Jace, my hands falling away from his hair as I straighten up, attempting to compose myself.
"Uh, hi Alec," I stammer, my voice sounding small and unsure in the sudden awkwardness of the situation.
Alec's expression softens as he takes in our flushed faces and tangled limbs, a knowing glint in his eyes. "Hey, guys," he says, his tone light but tinged with amusement. "Everything okay here?”
I nod, my cheeks still burning with embarrassment. "Yeah, we're fine," I reply, my voice barely above a whisper. "We were just…talking."
Alec's lips twitch in a faint smile, but he doesn't press us for details. Instead, he nods in understanding. “Seemed a lot more than talking,” he says with a smirk before turning to leave.
As he disappears back down the hallways probably to his office, I let out a shaky breath, feeling a mixture of relief and trepidation wash over me. "We should go to the infirmary," I murmur, turning to Jace with a hesitant smile. "Just to make sure everything's okay before we tell everyone.”
Jace nods, his expression filled with determination and love. "Of course," he says, squeezing my hand reassuringly. "Let's go make sure our little one is doing alright.”
And with that, we link hands and make our way out of the training room, ready to face whatever challenges may lie ahead, together.

Eyes of the Soul:
Part two |
Jace X fem/reader
Tumblr media
Summary: After y/n had that moment with Jace she felt on edge while around him. She wanted to talk to him but he was avoiding her. Y/n comes to find herself taking care of a very intoxicated Jace.
Warnings: no readers under 16 please, smut, fluff, tension, fighting, blood, cursing, not proofread, strong language, long story, drunk, the use of y/n, none of these characters are mine except for y/n.
A/N: I’m sorry the last one did not have any title, i wrote it all during classes and was so not focused. This one will be done more detailed and a lot longer. This is also a part two from my first fanfic post(should be pinned if not it has a gif of Jace shirtless in a door way).
______________________________
After we got home Jace went right back to being a ghost. I couldn’t get his eyes out of my head, and how his hands felt on my waist. “Asshole.” I whispered under my breath alone in my room of the institute. I looked up at the ceiling and closed my eyes but everytime i did I kept seeing that look that I’ve never seen before.
I got up and changed into my training out fit. My black tank top, black spandex shorts, and my black boots. While walking to the training room I took my stele out and started to draw on my wrist the flexibility rune. Walking into the training room I sighed then set my stele down. I put in some ear plugs and set my playlist to shuffle. As I tuned out the world around me, I focused on hitting the punching bag. Swing, “y/n.” Kick, “y/n.” I went to swing again at the bag but felt someone grab my wrist.
I took my ear plugs out and turned to see Jace. “Y/n, thats enough. If you’re gonna train at least do it the right way.” He pulled my shirt up just a bit and brushed his stele over my healing rune. I scoffed and turned away from him. ‘Asshole.’ I thought, ‘You don’t have any right to act like this after being so distant.’ But thats what I’ve always had to take with Jace. Him being completely distant to me but then completely fine with everyone. As if I had done something towards him.
“Could say thank you, you know? Its only polite when someone helps you.” He said sending a steam of anger and frustration through me. I scoffed, “Oh thank you so much. Oh and also thank you so much for actually talking to me for once Jace.”
He crossed his arms at me and starred at me with hurt expression almost. I didn’t mean to be so distasteful toward him but thats all his is to me. He only plays with my head for fun. “What are you talking about?” He stayed where he was as to not be mistaken for the punching bag.
I turned around facing him and stepped closer to him. “Don’t play dumb now. You act as if I don’t exist then play your stupid ‘play with peoples heart’ games. I’m not some girl, I have lived with you here in the institute for five years now. We where like best friends, you, Alec, Izzy, and me where all so close. Then one day you just act as if I did something to make you hate me.”
He stepped toward me while uncrossing his harms. He brushed his hair back with one hand then cleared his throat. “I don’t hate you. I never have.“ “Then why do you act like it?” He went to say something but stopped and tightened his jaw as if he was holding back some truth to his statement. “I understand if you dislike me or hate me but could you at least treat me with respect and not just mess with me when your bored?” I didn’t give him the chance to finish, I picked up my stele and walked back to my room in frustration.
______________________________
A knock at my door made me let out a light grown as I was just about to fall asleep. I got up, wearing grey short shorts and a light (your favourite color) sports bra. I opened the door to see Alec holding a what seemed to be a very intoxicated Jace.
“I’m sorry, I know its late but me and Izzy need to run out on a mission on short notice. I was wondering if you could just watch him a bit while we are gone?” Alec seemed in a hurry, even though the last thing I wanted was to baby sit Jace but I owed Alec for the other day. I nodded, Alec helped Jace to my bed and laid him down. “Thanks y/n, if he acts up don’t fee bad for beating him up.” Alec smirked then left closing the door after him.
“Mmm. Why is my bed smell so good.” Jace slurred his speech while turning over and barring his face into my blanket. I sighed walking over to him, “Come on, lets get you at least semi dressed for bed.” I said pulling him over. His eyes met mine and a smile I hadn’t seen in a while came over his face. He grabbed my hands and pulled me onto him. I fell onto his chest with his arms hugging me tightly as to keep me from leaving.
“I know your mad at me but at least I can do this in my dreams.” He mumbled to himself while nuzzling his head into the side of my neck and shoulder. “Jace, this isn’t a dream. Come one lets get these shoes off and get you to bed.” I said while trying to get up. Even though I missed this side of Jace, all soft and nice. He put his arms around my waist and looked up at me as I leaned back.
His eyes had that same look in them as they did the night at the club on top of the car. He leaned up and kissed neck then slowly kissed up my chin to my cheek while tightening his grip on my waist.
My face heated up and turned a light red as he stopped to look into my eyes. He placed on hand on my cheek and smiled. “I hate not being able to tell you the truth y/n. But you’ll want nothing to do with me if you new how I felt.” His speech slurred but I heard every word as if he wasn’t drunk and didn’t think this was a dream.
His face came closer to mine and lightly met his lips to mine. He closed his eyes and kissed me deeper making the melting feeing run through my body. I slowly kissed back before realising he was drunk and not fully conscious. I forced myself to pushed him back. His eyes looked into mine with a begging look as if he wanted more. “Jace, this isn’t a dream you’re just drunk. You don’t mean any of thi-.” Before I could finish he flipped himself and me over.
He pinned me down and started kissing me more forcefully with a feeling of hunger for more. I grabbed onto his shoulder but felt him grab my arms and put them over my head. He broke the kiss panting a bit while looking down at me. I could feel something pressing against my leg. I blushed more as my body was more honest then my words where. “Jace, no, you ca-.” He bit my neck causing me to let out a light wince and gasp. His grip tightened on my wrist while he kissed over where he bit.
“I mean all of this. But am to much of a coward to… tell.. yo-.” He fell beside of me completely out cold. I panted for a second trying to catch my breath. I looked at the ceiling trying to comprehend what just happened. I felt my neck where he but me and got up. I took his shoes and shirt off then put a blanket over him. ‘You asshole.’ I turned off my light and got into bed with him. I got underneath the blanket trying not to wake him. I closed my eyes trying to forget what just happened as I was sure he wouldn’t remember anything he just did in the morning. I exhaled deeply then turned over trying to go to bed.
______________________________
“Y/n. You don’t know me, but you will soon. These people will try to take you from me cause they are scared of what is real. Soon you will come to know the true you. I will see you soon, my daughter.” I gasped and sat up fast. I panted a bit while looking around my room. ‘Just a dream.’ I felt something warm beside me and something holding onto my waist. I looked over to see Jace still asleep.
I moved his hand and got up. I put on a jacket and went to the kitchen. I brushed my hands through my hair while remembering everything from last night. If only I would be as lucky as Jace to completely forget it all. Especially since it meant nothing.
I waited for the coffee to finish, I was lost in thought. ‘Why do I feel like this. It’s Jace, of course he’s gorgeous but he doesn’t think of you like that. So why do you think of him like..’ My thoughts where interrupted by Simon shaking me. “Y/n!” I turned to see Simon and smiled. I hugged him and laughed, “Oh my angel! Hey!”
He laughed with me and backed up. “How have you been? Sorry I haven’t been around lately. Me and Clary have been trying to find a rime to visit.” I shook my head and smiled, “No no you guys are fine. Its just good to see you. Is Clary here too?”
He shook his head while grabbing two mugs, “No she went to see her mom in Idris.” My eyes looked over to a tired and hungover Jace. My heart started to beat a bit fast as I then heard Simon shout, “Did someone bite you?!” I felt my heart stop and heard Jace start choking on the orange juice he had started to swallow before hearing such a question.
Simon went to touch my neck but I stepped back and laughed nervously, “What? No, heh, I was just messing around and got bit.” “By a vampire?!?!” I shook my head fast at Simons response, “No no no, I was, uhh.. I was with someone last night.” ‘What did I just say.’
Simons eyes sparkled and smiled teasingly, “Oh? Y/n found herself someone? He’s definitely not a vampire though, right?…” I laughed and poured coffee into my mug and took a sip. “Yeah no, not a vampire. More like a little puppy.” “Oh my god!! A werewo-.” Simon went to shout again from excitement but Jace had slammed the fridge. “Y/n, can I talk to you real quick?”
I followed Jace to the hall and back into my room. I leaned against the wall as he had his back to me. “Why was I in your bed when I woke up.” He said but instead of a question it was more of a demand for an answer. “Alec dropped you off at my room because he needed to leave with Izzy and wanted someone to watch you. I took your shirt off incase you puked on it. Then you fell asleep.” I bit my tongue as I thought of what happened before that all. He turned to me and slowly walked toward me. He tapped his neck, “Then whats that?” I put my hand over the bite mark as I completely forgot I could have just used my healing tune.
“It’s really no big deal Jace. You where just a bit drun-.” He turned around, “Fuck. So it was not a dream.” I hugged myself as I looked away a bit embarrassed for some reason. Scared of what his reaction would be. ‘I was probably just mistook you for another girl.’ ‘Oh ew. God your like a sister.’
“I’m sorry.” Jace said in a low tone. A sentence I had only ever heard him say once. I felt my stomach flutter as hearing him show sympathy instead of anger or discussed made me have, hope?
“No its fine, it was a mista-.” “No. No y/n. It wasn’t.” I was stuck by the wall like a statue from all the sudden truth Jace was saying to me. He turned around and looked at me with those eyes. Those beautiful, mesmerising blue eyes. He slowly stepped closer. I stood still as I looked up at him. “It wasn’t a mistake. Do you know how insane you drive me?” He lost me. Insane I make him? I went to argue but I felt his hand slowly touch my face just like last night. And those eyes look into mine, as if he was looking for a reason to walk away.
He slowly got closer to my lips, “I have never felt something like this for anyone in my life. I have never had such a instinct to take something.” He placed his forehead gently against mine. “I look at you and see what I should be to you, a big brother that watches over you and picks on you. But then something inside me just wants to hid you from every man in this world.”
I couldn’t speak, Jace Wayland, the man who had any women fall to his feet. Is telling me I, y/n, drive him crazy? “No fast come backs?” He teased with a light smirk, ‘theres that cockiness.’ “I never saw you that way. Till that night at the club. Its like you corrupted my mind and you where all I could think about.” I leaned up a bit with my lips just inches from his. “Then, last night, having you kiss me and have you begging for me. I can never see you any other way but as someone that I want.”
Jace took no more time and finally connected our lips. He kissed me gently at first but then started to kiss deeper. I grabbed his hair lightly as I kissed back. I then felt his tongue slip into my mouth and explore my mouth. My legs where starting to give out from under me as they trembled.
Jace slowly picked me up wrapping my legs around his waist. Pressing my back to the wall, not breaking the kiss once. I pulled his hair lightly making him let out a low grunt in between the kiss. He slowly trailed his lips down to my neck and started to kiss and suck all over it.
“Haa.. J-Jace..” I let out light moans, I felt something familiar press against my thigh just like last night. “Shhh, I know. Are you sure you want this?” He said panting lightly while not breaking eye contact.
I nodded my head, “Say it. Or I won’t do anymore.” He said which sent my stomach into butterflies. I then leaned forward and whispered into his ear. “Please fuck me Jace.”

Jace leads Clary to Hodge, but hesitates when he sees an open door. He finds himself pausing to admire the scene, leaning on the door frame with a crooked smile. Clary moves to get a better view and is confused.
A girl sits in a windowsill, her pencil hitting the paper lightly as she sketches out the scenery outside the window. The light appears to angle just right, giving her an almost angelic presence. Black runes cover her skin, some disappearing to hide under her clothes.
Clary leans over to Alec and whispers. "Who is that?"
Alec simply nods a little. "Y/N. Jace has a thing for her, but he's never acted on it." Clary feels her heart break a little. "Shame, really. She likes him too, but they're both too stubborn to be the one to confess."
"Oh..."
"My advice," Alec looks between her and the room, "stay away from Jace."
He moves on before she can ask much else, walking along the halls and calling to Jace quietly. Jace is brought back to reality as he gives one last look into the room before venturing on.
"So, Y/N..." Clary tries.
She doesn't miss when Jace blushes slightly, "another Shadowhunter. She's been here a long time, however she really only talks to me."
"Why's that?"
He chuckles a little but shakes his head. "That's none of my business to tell. She's a great person when you get to know her though." That's all the information he gives before they reach their destination. He opens the door and gestures inside with a nod.
His expression stays neutral, stoic as he explains, "You may find Hodge a little eccentric, but he's one of the greatest Shadowhunters that's ever lived." He looks down at the cloth in her hand and his brows furrow. "Here, give me that."
She walks inside of the giant room, her body and eyes exploring. The two boys walk in after her. They watch her carefully. Despite her distance, Clary can still hear Jace and Alec by the door.
"Don't lead this one on while you pursue your little loner. You'll get her hopes up, and if she decides to stay...the rune to fix a broken heart is the most painful one." She could practically feel Jace roll his eyes.
"I'm not leading her on."
"Oh? Is that so? Because I don't normally go around flirting and being handsy with random people, Jace." Alec warned. "It's obvious, the way Clary looks at you. I'd tone down your 'lack of leading her on' before she gets the wrong idea."
The doors shut suddenly, causing Clary to flinch, and Alec storms off down the hall, leaving Jace to think over his words. The more he thought about it, the more he tried to deny it.
Tumblr media
Jace opens the door, "The Silent Brothers are ready for her."
When Clary and Jace set off for their next location, she noticed a new companion had replaced Alec. It was the girl from before. The girl that Jace liked.
"I didn't expect you to be joining us..." She tries to make conversation, but Y/N barely acknowledges her.
"I admire your attempt, but she won't talk. Not unless she's comfortable with you." Jace smiles at the girl in question, who smiles to herself but stays quiet.
"How long would that take?"
"Patience is a virtue, Clary." Jokes Jace. "I suppose I was the first person who ever really tried, so there's not much to go off of. She's coming with us because I asked her too."
The redheaded girl can't help but glance between the two every now and then. She isn't sure whether she feels jealous or wants them to be together, but she can say one thing for sure; The tension was nauseatingly strong.
"Why didn't Hodge come with us?"
"He hasn't left the institute in years." Jace shrugs as he continues walking. "Some say it's a spell."
"He's agoraphobic." Y/N giggles at Clary's bluntness, leading to the ginger giving her a small smile. One she returned. They stop and turn, Jace crossing his arms while he waits.
"Is that him?" Clary asks.
Jace follows her gaze and shakes his head. "No, that's Harold, the groundskeeper." He tilts his head, leaning in a bit, "that's him."
She looks up a little and feels a small shiver of unease crawl up her spine. A comforting hand is felt on her shoulder, and she's met with Y/N's smile when she turns her head. The action leaves her wondering how obvious her discomfort was, but she still is thankful.
"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Clary looks to the two as though asking for help, but nods regardless. "We will help you to remember."
The trio follow the tall robed man, Clary a little more hesitant. Y/N turns, kind smile still standing, and lifts a finger to the middle of her lips. Clary nods and follows behind.
Along the way she trips, "Ow!"
Jace turns his head instantly, shushing her. "You'll wake the dead."
Clary rolls her eyes. She catches Y/N giving her an apologetic shrug, the girl nodding with her head to continue.
"I can't believe this place is just outside of the city..."
She follows the duo to the window like ledge they looked through. Jace's voice catches her off guard, "Welcome to the City of Bones." His breath is right next to her ear, sending her hairs to stand on their ends.
"This is where the Silent Brothers draw their power, from the bones and ashes of Shadowhunters."
"All of them are buried here?"
"Yes." Jace looks to the wall, "One day," he taps a skull, making Y/N giggle, the sound eliciting a smile to slide upon his pink lips, "that's gonna be me."
Clary stops to look at the skeleton. Sensing her unease, Y/N urges her forward with a light touch. Clary stops a few steps forward, inspecting the room from entryway.
"This is as far as we go." She looks at Jace, and he assures her, "You'll be fine."
"So you've done this before?"
Y/N and Jace exchange a glance. She dawns an apologetic look as shakes her head and Jace replies, "No."
Tumblr media
Clary decides to continue to try and talk to Y/N, "Have you ever met Magnus Bane?"
The girl only shakes her head.
"You know... I'm quite jealous of you." Clary admits with a laugh. Y/N tilts her head in confusion, prompting Clary to continue. "I thought Jace was into me, and if I'm being honest, I'm really into him but... I'd be stupid to stand in your guys' way."
Her brows furrow, even more confused than before. Clary's hopes range from high to doubtful, there's a chance Alec was wrong, that she didn't have feelings for him, but she saw the way the two looked at each other. She might've been naïve and clouded in her conflicting feelings, but she wasn't blind.
"Jace likes you too. And honestly...you should go for it." She looks away, ashamed of her own assistance in helping the guy she liked be with someone else. However, she doesn't have time to mope, when a voice she hasn't heard before causes her to snap her eyes back to Y/N's face.
"Is it that obvious?" A shy expression, laced with a little embarrassment, greets her.
"You-"
"I talk, yes." She chuckles. "Jace wasn't lying. I mostly talk to him, but after I realized my feelings for him, I started to confide in Alec. My only problem was that I didn't realize Alec also had feelings for Jace... But, Alec saw how much I love Jace, and told me that he had found interest in someone else. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but, my feelings for Jace have always been around since then. I'm just...not too sure what to do about it."
Clary nods understandingly, and places her hand atop Y/N's. "Talk to him."
Y/N thinks about it for moment, and then nods. "Thank you."
Tumblr media
"Hey. Can we talk?" Jace turns, nodding when he realizes it's Y/N. The blond looks around the infirmary, making sure Simon and Clary are accounted for one more time before he returns to facing her. He follows her to the study, sitting beside her on the piano seat.
"What's wrong?"
Her fingers press into the keys, a slow recollection of a piece by Bach. "It's nothing... I spoke to Clary-'
"You talked to Clary?" Y/N giggles at his dumbfounded expression. "M'sorry, that just caught me a little off-guard, you don't normally talk to anyone else."
"That's fair. Basically, she gave me some advice to a problem I have, not that I asked her for it- she actually noticed it- anyways, after Simon and the vampires and everything- I guess- my point is, Jace..."
"Yes?" His eyes were laced with concern, no longer amused by her sudden socializing.
"I like you. Like, really really like like you." She bit her lip. "Like...I'm in love with you."
Y/N stared at Jace, waiting for his answer. She grew nervous as time started to feel slower. The seconds felt like they were snail's paced, so close yet so far away. Sweat dripped down her forehead and her heartbeat rang in her ears. It was all so overwhelming until-
"I'm in love with you too."
"You what?"
Jace smiled shyly. "I'm in love with you too. I've been for a long time now." His eyes trace over her lips, the distance between them closing gradually. He hovers above her lips when his eyes meet hers again.
It's all in slow motion and superspeed at the same time. She lets go of control and lets her instincts take the reigns. Her lips crash into his and he lets out a surprised groan. Their eyes both close as they kiss one another, their lips partaking in a dance they somehow know. By the time they pull apart, they're out of breath and their eyes are blown.
"How long?"
She blinks. "Pardon?"
"How long have you been waiting to do that?"
"If I'm being honest, a month or so after we met. What about you?" Y/N giggles.
"Since we first met."
Tumblr media
Clary leans against the door, heart half broken and half full, yet content with herself. Maybe she should look into what Simon's benefits are.

It's a bad idea, right?
Series: The Mortal Instruments
Pairing: Jace Wayland x Fem!Reader
Genre: Angst to Fluff, Friends to Lovers
Warnings: Possibly OOC Jace, slight description of Reader (mainly that Jace is taller than her), use of Y/N. All characters are aged 18+.
Summary:
Y/N has a Warlock ex that seems to have her under his spell, metaphorically speaking, and every time he calls, she answers.
Jace has had enough of watching her go back to him repeatedly. Because they're friends, definitely not because he's in love with her or anything.
A/N: Guys, I have finally caved into my desires and am diving deep into the world of The Mortal Instruments. I watched most of the show a few years ago and saw the movie a few days ago, which led me to buy a box set of the 6 Mortal Instruments books. I am just about halfway through The City of Bones, so I still have a lot of learning to do. Forgive me if I need to correct something.
Also, I love all the show characters, but Movie Jace feels closer to Book Jace than Show Jace, so I am committed to Movie Jace for visual representation and Movie Jace only.
Does that make sense to you? Yes? Cool.
Tumblr media
"You were where last night?" Izzy asked her a bit too loudly as she and Y/N walked into the weapons room where Alec and Jace were working on cleaning their weapons used from the previous mission.
Y/N shushed her as the two boys looked over, "Seriously, whatever happened to private girl talk?"
Izzy rolled her eyes, speaking lower than before so the guys wouldn't hear, "What ever happened to cutting him out of your life? Finding a new guy to get in your bed to get over him, that's why we went to Pandemonium last night, remember?"
Y/N huffed in response. Of course, she knew that's why Izzy and Clary dragged her to Pandemonium. It was a plan that she had yet to be very keen on. Izzy had gone to powder her nose, and Clary went to dance when Demetrius Black approached her on the dance floor, convincing her to leave with him.
It never took much convincing. He never went to Pandemonium, so she thought it was safe, but alas, she woke up in his bed again with her favorite tea made just the way she liked it on the nightstand next to her. He was nowhere to be seen.
Izzy rolled her eyes at the lack of response, "I need to put a tracker on you, like an outdoor cat." She turned on her heels and walked away.
Y/N sighed, running a hand through her hair before leaving the weapons room. She needed to punch something, so she soon found her way to the training room, where a punching bag sat calmly in the middle.
Then she beat the shit out of it.
"Stupid Demetrius and his stupidly charming attitude."
One Two.
"Stupid me for falling for it, again."
One Two Three.
"And stupid Mundane girl who couldn't keep her grimy hands to herself!"
With enough force of one last punch, the bag flew backward, hitting the wall as she let out a long groan of anger.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Jace's voice appeared behind her making her jump out of her skin.
"Jesus Christ,"
"Not exactly." He smirked, but she ignored his comment.
"Do you feel the need to scare everyone or just me? Am I that special?" Sarcasm dripped from her lips as she began walking over to the punching bag so she could put it back in its usual location.
"Stop dodging my question. Do you want to talk about why you punched the bag across the room?"
She signed, letting the bag stand back up, "Will you try not to make fun of me for at least ten minutes if I tell you."
He chuckled, leaning against a pillar with his signature smug look, "I'll try my very best."
She couldn't look him in the eye, but she told him everything. From Izzy's plan to it failing when she left her alone for not even five minutes to waking up in her ex's bed again.
His expression was stoic throughout the entire time she was speaking; all of Jace's smugness and ego quickly flushed away as envy flooded his veins.
She didn't notice his change in expression because she refused to look at him.
"I know it's stupid, but it's like he put a spell on me."
"You have a permanent ruin to block any Warlock from using that magic on you."
She groaned, "I meant metaphorically." She plopped down on the bench and ran a hand through her hair.
"Well, I don't even know what you see in the Warlock-"
"Alec is with Mangus, and you never have anything to say about that, but when I date a Downworlder who has helped us just as much as Mangus has, you suddenly have an issue?"
He didn't have a chance to think before he spoke, blurting out, "I can't stand to see you hurting yourself with someone who doesn't deserve you."
Her head snaps to finally make eye contact; she lets her emotions talk without knowing what to think, "You don't get to decide who deserves me, Jace. You're not my father, and you're not my brother. Don't act like it."
He stepped closer to where she was sitting, "He cheated on you. Remember that? You cried to Clary and Izzy for days about it, then you cried yourself to sleep after all that," He saw the shocked look on her face, "We share a wall, remember? The same wall both of our beds are up against. I heard it all and witnessed you tear yourself apart from all the insecurities he gave you. So yes, I may not be in a position to say it, but I can say for certain that he doesn't deserve you."
The tension between the two shadow hunters was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. Neither of them said anything else, just stared at each other until she stood up and brushed past him.
"Thanks for the reminder."
Jace only watched as she left the room, wanting to walk after her but feeling paralyzed where he stood. He cursed under his breath and looked down at his feet.
It was his turn to send the punching bag flying across the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That night, the group went on a mission to track down a Vampire, killing humans left and right. Clary had poked around through the different nests in the city with Alec and Izzy, but none of them seemed to be acquainted with the rouge Vampire.
Jace and Y/N were tasked with searching Pandemonium for the Vampire or any information retaining it.
Things between them were still tense, and the others could see it, but Jace had been the one to wordlessly follow her to Pandemonium. The music was loud and beating through her head, making the memories from the night prior resurface, but she shook it off as she looked around for any suspicious Downworld behavior.
She and Jace had split up in the crowd, which meant she was alone when she felt her phone buzz in her back pocket. She pulled it out seeing a text from Demetrius:
Demetrius: I can tell you're working from how you dress tonight, but meet me at the bar. I might have the information you are searching for. ;)
Tensing up, she looks over at the bar seeing Demetrius leaning against it in all his glory, smirking knowingly at her. She pushed her hurt deep down and walked over to him.
"Well, you look lovely tonight, darling." He said, reaching out to touch her hair when she stopped about two feet away, but she smacked his hand away quickly.
"No time for pleasantries, Demetrius. Do you know anything about a Rouge Vampire, or are you wasting my time?"
"Playing hard to get tonight? Let me buy you a drink." He said as he waved to the bartender to get his attention.
She scoffed, shaking her head, "I knew this was a waste of time--" She stopped speaking when she backed into someone's chest; she didn't even need to look up to know it was Jace. She didn't realize he found them.
Jace didn't move at the contact; he only stared at Demetrius, who noticed he was standing there because she had stopped speaking.
"Oh look," he commented, bored, "It's the guard dog. Don't you have anything better to do than following her around like a lost puppy?"
"We're working, Demetrius." She spoke as Jace opened his mouth, cutting him off before a fight could break out, "Since you don't actually have any information for me, I am going to leave."
She brushed past Jace, leaving the two boys at the bar and disappearing into the crowd.
Jace followed her with his eyes until he knew she was out of earshot. Looking back at Demetrius with a glare that could kill a thousand men, he said, "If you come near her again, I will not hesitate to track you down and kill you myself."
Demetrius smirked, taking a sip from his drink, "And break The Clave's precious rules? From what she told me, you are one of those who respect the Covenant more than anything."
Jace took two steps forward, standing toe to toe with the Warlock, a look of pure hatred in his eyes, "I would break a thousand rules if it made her happy. I would break a thousand rules to make sure she is safe. Don't test me, Warlock."
Demetrius took another sip of his drink, "I always knew, from the moment I had the displeasure of meeting you, that you were in love with her. I watched as you protected her like a lovesick puppy even though she was head over heels in love with me. Now that she is single, why haven't you swept her off her feet to prevent her from falling into my bed?"
He leaned close to his ear, saying just above a whisper, "Maybe it's because you know she will never love you back."
Jace shoved him away, stalking off to get back to work. Only to watch as she left the storage room and in his direction; as she passed him, she said, "Threat has been neutralized, let's get out of here."
She was annoyed. Mostly at herself for thinking he wouldn't come back to her favorite club to antagonize her, but also at the fact that she had to take on a Vampire by herself because Jace decided to have a little chat with her ex.
At the same time, she was proud of herself for finally avoiding Demetrius' charm like the plague. Progress is Progress.
As she exited Pandemonium, she pulled out her phone and started texting Clary to let them know the Vampire was found and taken care of, but Jace pulled her phone out of her hands.
"I'll take that." He said as he went to her contacts lists.
Her jaw dropped, "Jace! Give that back!" She snapped, watching him smirk at her phone as he tapped the screen a few times before giving it back to her.
"First step, blocking your ex's number."
She rolled her eyes and brushed passed him. Raising her hand, a cab drove up to her almost immediately.
"How do you always get cabs so quickly?" He muttered loud enough for her to hear as he stood behind her protectively.
"It's a gift," she said flatly, getting into the cab and scooting over so Jace could get in, even though she wanted him to get his own taxi.
"You cant just avoid me forever." He said into her ear once she got comfortable after telling the driver where to drop them off.
She crossed her arms, staring straight ahead, "Watch me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jace, let you fight the Vampire by yourself?" Izzy asked her in the kitchen of the Institute, snacking on popcorn with Clary on the opposite side of her as the three girls usually did after a hunt.
"He didn't let me; he was at the bar talking with Demetrius. I thought he followed me into the crowd when I left the bar, but he wasn't behind me when I found the Vampire and pointed it out to him." She ran a hand through her hair and looked down, "I didn't want to lose him, so I followed the Vampire into the storage room, scared off the mundane that was with him, and killed the bloodsucker."
Clary laughed, "And you did it by yourself."
Y/N shrugged, "It was easy because he was a new Vampire who didn't have anyone to guide him."
"What did Jace say when you told him you took care of it?" Izzy tossed another piece of Popcorn into Clary's mouth, and she caught it successfully.
"He didn't react, just followed me out and got rid of Demetrius' contact on my phone."
Clary nearly choked on her popcorn before swallowing it, "He did what?"
Sighing, she nodded, "Yeah, talk about quitting cold turkey."
Izzy giggled, elbowing Clary lightly. "Maybe Jace will finally start courting her."
Y/N raised an eyebrow; Jace was into someone? That was new information, "Courting who? We don't come into contact with many shadow hunters unless he has a secret Mundane lover."
Blinking, Izzy looked from Clary to Y/N and back to Clary, "Is she serious?"
"I think she is."
"Okay, what are you two going on about?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest, blinking at the two of them.
"How do we put this nicely-" Clary began speaking, but Izzy cut her off, "Jace has been in love with you since we were thirteen."
Taken aback, all Y/N could do was laugh, "What? No! You guys are crazy. The only person Jace loves is himself." She rolled her eyes, grabbing a few pieces of popcorn.
Clary spoke up, "When I first learned I was a Shadow Hunter and Jace brought me to the institute, I thought he was cute, but then I saw the way he looked at you, and I thought you two were a thing for a whole month until I saw you making out with a mundane near Pandemonium."
"I remember that!" Izzy giggled, turning to Y/N, "Clary freaked out and came running to me saying that you cheated on Jace and that we needed to tell him. It was so funny trying to explain to her that the two of you weren't a thing."
"My point is," Clary interjected, looking at Y/N, "Jace Wayland has been pining over you for so long. He's extra protective of you. When you came home crying a few months ago because the dirtbag cheated on you, Alec had to stop him from hunting him down and killing him without a second thought."
Y/N sank in her chair, blinking, "I had no idea."
"You're just a little oblivious; it's okay," Izzy said, patting her head.
She shook her head, "It's late. I'm going to bed."
She exited the chair and said goodnight to the two girls before leaving the kitchen.
She was going to bed, but then her feet decided to take her to where she knew Jace would be at this time of night.
The garden.
She opened the door quietly, searching for the blond among the flowers and plants, when she spotted him sitting on a bench. He was reading a book that she couldn't read the title of because of how old it was. She walked over to him and placed her hands in her sweater pockets, "You know how to read?"
He looked up at her from his book, "Sneaking up on people is supposed to be my thing."
"You'll have to learn how to share. May I sit?"
He nodded, closing the book with a bookmark between the pages, and moved to one side of the bench to make room for her to sit, "Are you okay?"
She nodded, "I will be. Thank you for being there for me back at Pandemonium and in the training room earlier today. I needed to hear the truth. Even though my stance on the fact you need to work on your comforting skills stays intact." She teased him lightly, making him chuckle.
"I'm sorry you had to deal with the Vampire alone while I was defending your honor; it won't ever happen again."
"It better not." She chuckled, leaning back and relaxing on the bench, stifling a yawn, "Because I might just have to kill you myself, then."
"As if you would dare lay a mark on my greatest asset." He gestured to his face making Y/N roll her eyes and slapped his hand away.
"That ego of yours is going to be the death of me one day. Do I have to worry about you falling in love with your own reflection and drowning because of it like Narcissus?"
Letting out a laugh, Jace shook his head, looking up at the time on his watch, the very one she had gotten him for his last birthday, "It's getting late. You need rest."
"So do you," she fired back, standing up and glaring at him, "We need you at the top of your game, come on."
He chuckled, standing up and holding the book against his hip as they left the garden together and walked through the Institute.
"Do you need some tea to help you relax?" She asked, tilting her head up at him.
He smiled down at her, "No, I can manage."
They approached their rooms silently, he walked her to her door, and she nodded, "Goodnight, Jace."
He watched as she disappeared into her room, closing the door behind her, but he didn't move to his room next door, even though he should have.
No, he thought about how he realized Demetrius' words were true. He loved her and didn't know what to do with this information.
He raised his hand to knock on her door again, wanting to get the rejection over with, but just before his fist could make contact with the wood, the door opened, followed by her voice saying, "Jace, wait." before getting cut off by realizing he was standing there still.
The two stood there wordlessly, staring at each other. No one knew who made the first move that night, but soon Y/N felt his hands cupping her face as their lips touched.
It felt right, kissing Jace; he was gentle yet passionate, as if he were making up for the lost time, which he was. As it turned out, so was she.
When they broke apart for air, nothing could stop their mutual smiles from appearing on their faces as Jace rested his forehead on hers.
"Sleep in my room tonight? We can talk about this in the morning."
He nodded, picking her up over his left shoulder, causing a light squeal to leave her lips as he walked into the room, closing the door with his foot.

He’s mine||jace wayland x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Warnings: jace being the perfect boyfriend, swearing, jealousy, use of y/n, slight smut
Summary: you and jace are inseparable but now clary comes to the institute and gets interests in jace
Extra: this is placed in 2009 instead of 2007 so jace’s 18 and reader too
“It’s a demon bite!”
After jace had brought this girl into the institute cause he thinks she isn’t a mundane because she saw him killing a demon with Alec and Isabelle made you quit angry.
If you could you would just throw her out of the institute, by just the way she looks at jace. Your boyfriend.
“Look she’s awake” the glass boy said while this girl slowly wakes up.
Jace arms was wrapped around your waist from behind and his chin resting on your head.
“Ah, shit what is that?” Red-head said as she touched the protection rune which cause her pain.
Jace wanted to say something as he got interrupted by glass-boy.
“That’s a rune, you can use them for anything, healing, protection, can yourself visible and invisible which Is so cool! And when you’re hung-“who was not getting cut off by jace.
“No! We weren’t sure but when I draw the rune on you and you didn’t die, we definitely knew you had shadowhunter blood in you” jace explained.
“Ok so here are clothes you Could wear. It’s not everyday we get girls here” Isabelle came in and put the clothes on the table next to red-head.
Jace knew you didn’t liked when other girls would come here so he said.“Alec, could you take clary to hodge? Me and y/n are going to our room”
“Yeah I guess”
———
“You don’t have to be jealous of here love, you know I love you” jace said as he could literally feel your death stares towards clary.
“I’m not, jealous” you tried to hide the fact that, if looks could kill clary would be dead the second you saw her with jace.
“Hmm, my love’s jealous over some girl I don’t know” he teased you with a smirked you absolutely adored.
“Fine. I was. So what I’m not the one giving you the look as she wants to marry you right now”
“But you do”he whispered in you ear.
“Some day”you closed the space between you, as you lips met where he immediately kissed you back.
His hands found you waist as he pushed you against the wall as you make out.
———
“So, this y/n and jace. They seem close” clary said as hodge told her about her mother being in the clave.
“Y/n and jace? Yeah, couple of 6 years, never thought they would truly love each other” clary’s body was filled with jealousy as she listen to hodge.
“And do they fight often?”
“No, at least I never knew or saw a fight between them, they’re always together. Inseparable”
“Hmm, okay..”
———
“Did you lock the door?” You moaned between the sentence as jace’s hands went to unbuckle your belt.
“No, but who cares?”His lips on your neck again, and as Jace was about to pull your pants down you hear a knock from your door.
“NOT NOW” jace yelled as the door opened anyway which revealed clary.
You rolled your eyes as you pulled up your pants.” Hodge said that these silent brothers are ready”
“Yeah uhm, wait downstairs ok?” Jace said as he put on his shirt again.
Clary whispered a “ok” as she closed the door.
“One person gets here and now we don’t even have privacy anymore?”
“I know love but I’ll be back as soon as I am ok? I love you” he quickly kissed you ok the lips before going downstairs.
———
“I can’t believe we’re going to Magnus just because of that stupid girl” You said annoyed as Isabelle did your hair.
“What did we say about being nicer to people?”you rolled your eyes as you and Isabelle went out the door downstairs to the Main door where alec, jace and clary were already standing.
“You look beautiful as always” jace said as kissed you head.
“Thank You” You smiled even wider when you could see clary staring at you two, eyes filled with jealousy.
———
“Well. I haven’t seen you in years shadowhunters” mag is appeared from behind.
“Though,I do kinda need to talk with clary”
“Wait how do you know her?-“simon- the glass boy was cut off by Magnus.
“Come with me”
“I still don’t get why we’re here”You mumbled.
———
You were even more pissed when Simon was kidnapped and you had to safe him because of clary.
That’s why You’re always told “don’t do anything with mundanes” .
But now you’re back and You’re in the library since jace is in the shower anyway.
“What is your problem with me?” You heard a voice behind you.
You turned around and saw clary.
“What do you mean?”You said innocently.
“You always give me these looks”
“Well, then stop staring at my boyfriend”now clary’s face got darker as she stepped infront of you.
“We both know this relationship won’t last forever. People come and go you know tha-“ you cut off clary by pushing her against the wall coming closer to her face.
“If you, ever say that again I will kill you clary fray. And you know why? Because he’s mine” you whispered the last sentence.

Hello! ✨
It’s me again! Hehe would you be able to do a Jace one where reader is living at the institution and has known the group since they were little and reader is dating a guy who laid hands on her then one night she comes back to the institution sneaking in at night and Jace finds her with bruises and is mad ready to go look for the guy to where Jace and reader get into a spat about it but she’s only been dating other people to distract herself from loving Jace all these years because he doesn’t do love but in the end loves her.
Hope all is well! Xoxo 🤍
hi my love!!! ahhh jace is one of my favourite characters to write for and especially soft jace <3 he has my whole heart!!!
Tumblr media
Just Pretend- Jace Wayland/Herondale x Reader
summary: you've liked jace for years, but you never wanted to accept it, so you would date other people to take your mind off of him. however, one night you come home late, and jace finds out everything.
warnings: mentions of a violent relationship, but nothing too graphic
notes: yes, the title is supposed to be a bad omens reference :) also, i was thinking of writing a part 2 to this, but i'm currently working on 2 other fics right now AND part 2's to three other stories!! but that won't stop me <3
Two years, six months and four days. That is how long you have been lying to yourself. That is how long you’ve been dating Jack, a guy you met at the bar. You found it easy in the first year, projecting your feelings towards Jace onto him, but lately things have been changing. Jack’s been getting suspicious about you and Jace, and when he feels this way he is easily angered and will throw things around, taking his anger out around his apartment- until tonight, where he laid his hands on you.
The reason for it was because you were just over five minutes late to your date that evening, and he believed you were spending your time with Jace instead. But that was silly, Jace hated you. You felt as if he hated you from the moment you walked into the Institute, with nowhere else to go, nowhere else to call home.
Jace would ignore you, give you looks from across the room, it was as if your presence bothered him. But you still had feelings for him.
Jace is stunningly attractive, it’s not a lie. But that isn’t why you felt this way for him. One night, only months after moving into the Institute, you had a nightmare. With nowhere else to go, you went to the greenhouse, and Jace was the only other person there as it was late. You hadn’t talked to him much before, but you sat by him that night and he asked if you were okay, seeing the tears stain your cheeks. You told him about your nightmare, and he comforted you, telling you he often has nightmares too. That night was the only time in all the years that you’ve known Jace, that you’ve had a proper conversation. He opened up about himself that night, and was vulnerable with you, and so you guessed that’s the reason why he avoids you now. Or at least that’s what you hoped was the reason.
It was late by the time you got back to the Institute, and you moved around quietly to ensure you wouldn’t wake anybody up. However, when you got to the top of the stairs, there was a shadow at the other end of the hallway. A shadow you easily recognised.
“Jace?” You whisper-yelled, and he came into your sight.
“Do you know what time it is?” He asked, seeming quite pissed off.
“I don’t know… 11?”
“It’s 2am, y/n. You know the rules. Home by 10.” He says, as he walks closer to you.
You watch his face as his eyes scan you. From the mascara running down your cheeks, your hair- wet and tangled from the rain- and then…
“What the fuck is that on your arm?” He asked, panic lacing his voice as he grasped your forearm, making you wince, “are these bruises?”
“Yeah, uh-” you cleared your throat, wracking your brain for a coverup story, “I got in a fight… at the bar… with um, a girl.” Your voice smaller and smaller as you lied to his face.
“Bullshit. He did this to you, didn’t he?”
“No! I-”
“Stop fucking lying to me, y/n!” He raised his voice, his eyes glossy with tears, but also filled with anger.
You couldn’t hold the tears back any longer. Tears you’ve been holding back for weeks now. As they spill from your eyes, you wrap your arms around Jace involuntarily, expecting him to pull away.
But he doesn’t.
He comforts you, gently stroking your back as he rests his chin on the top of your head.
“How long has this been going on?” He asks softly, pulling back from you slowly.
“Can we sit down… it’s a long story.”
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
You explain to Jace that Jack believed you were cheating on him, but where he was wrong in one aspect, he was right in believing you had feelings for Jace. You told him the truth, and didn’t hold anything back from him. You told him exactly how you felt, and by the way his face softened, his body language changed and his attitude switched, you could tell he had something to tell you too.
“I’m sorry,” he says, leaning towards you to place his hand on your knee, to which you flinch away from, “I’m really sorry. I’ve acted like such a dick towards you, and it’s not your fault, okay? I just… didn’t want to accept the way I felt. I love you too, more than you think. I’m just scared, I find it difficult opening up to people, and when I met you I felt so… comfortable around you. I felt like such an idiot for it, and I hate myself for treating you this way. If only I told you then-”
“It’s okay, Jace.” You said, placing your hand on his, “you couldn’t have known.”
You hugged him once more, and as you pulled away he noticed blood running down your leg. You explained to him that Jack had pushed you, and you tripped over. Jace rose to his feet and took your hand, leading you to his bathroom where he pulled out a first aid box.
He took his time cleaning the wound as you sat on his bed. He was ever so gentle as he wiped the alcohol pad over your skin, holding your hand with his unoccupied one. You squeezed his hand tightly as the pain ran through your veins.
“You’re doing such a good job, sweetheart,” he told you, “it’s almost done.”
He bandaged up the wound with care, and placed a tender kiss over the bandage on your thigh, his eyes meeting yours as his lips met the material. You felt butterflies swarm your stomach, and blushed as he stood back up.
“How does it feel?” He asks as you stand back up.
“As good as it can.” You tell him, putting on a smile.
“Good.” He smiles, placing his hand on your back, “let’s get you to bed, now. We can talk more in the morning.”
As Jace walked you to your room you couldn’t help but worry that he would turn back into his old ways in the morning. Sure, he said you could talk about it more in the morning, but would he be feeling the same way in the morning? Or would he change his mind?
As you reached out your hand to open the door to your room, Jace got there first. You felt your cheeks redden again as your hand lingered over his. You couldn’t help but notice how soft his hands felt, despite the marks, scars and wounds they held.
He opened the door for you and gestured for you to step inside. You switched on the light as you entered, expecting Jace to follow behind you, but he didn’t. He stayed at the door.
“Goodnight, y/n.” He said, a soft smile on his lips, “you know where my room is if you need me, if you can’t sleep or…” He trailed off as he slowly stepped closer to you, eyelids falling shut as he placed a kiss on your forehead.
He looked down at you through half-lidded eyes, his fingers running through your damp hair.
“Sweet dreams.” Was the last thing he said before leaving, returning to his own room. You were so caught up in the moment that you hadn’t processed his departure. You wished you could’ve asked him to stay longer, to perhaps even stay in your room tonight. But it was too late. We can talk tomorrow, he said. You held onto the hope that he meant what he said, and that he would go through with it. You really hoped.

(I READ CITY OF BONES.)
Tumblr media
CITY OF BONES. —part one.
jace wayland x fem reader
summary: this will be the city of bones book storyline, movie characters. (a series)
warnings: hint at prior 💋💋🍆🍆 , knives and daggers, mentions of fighting.
———————————————————————
jace rolled over, his nose hitting your shoulder. he smelt like the cologne he sprayed last night before bed, when he got home from the pandemonium.
he was snoring lightly with no nose, just the little whistle of his nose. normally, anyone would think it was annoying. but it was jace; the boy who was fierce and strong and talented at fighting. the boy who was hardly soft, hardly having emotions. he was at peace in his ignorance, and this, this you appreciated.
you stared at jace’s ceiling, the tall rail of the bed creating a square in it. before you’d thought to wake jace up, to leave his room and go into yours then, the door knob rattled.
jace remained sleeping as the door opened, and on the other side stood a surprised izzy.
her jaw dropped. “oh, my—”
“isabelle.” you hissed, sitting up. “we will talk about this later.”
“but you—”
“please izzy,” you looked at her with doe eyes and she stared, remaining with eyes wide.
“i suppose once you two are…” he looked at your collarbone, your naked chest covered with the blanket you’d held up. “dressed— that we can talk about you and jace.”
izzy seemed contained. her voice didn’t seem as surprised as her face.
“thank you,” you sighed, leaning back into bed a bit. “he’s sleeping, can i take your message?”
“well actually,” she pointed behind her with her thumb, still a little red-faced. “i went to wake you up, too, but you weren’t in there. i assumed you were eating breakfast already, you early bird, so i decided to wake jace up… but you’re… not eating breakfast, that’s for sure.”
“why were you gonna wake me up?”
izzy was starting to calm down by now. she shrugged. “hodge wanted me to.”
“what does hodge want me up for?” you asked, feeling a little anxious.
“he didn’t tell me.”
you nodded.
“mess with jace and i’ll mess with your throat,” izzy said suddenly, then spun on her heels and stalked out of the room.
you were appalled. it was random, but it made sense. izzy is basically his sister. but you were her best friend.
you rolled over gently, hitting the tip of your nose on have’s bicep. he groaned for a second, but then his eyes fluttered open.
“morning,” he said in his morning-raspy-voice. you smiled.
“morning, love. i have to—” he cut you off by kissing you on the lips.
you groaned as you pulled away. “jace, i—”
“no,” he said, and he started kissing your neck.
“okay, jace, seriously.” he pulled away from your neck, looking at you with hurt eyes.
“listen,” you hissed, sort of climbing onto his chest, your body half on his and half off. “it’s important.”
jace pretended to consider it, then tilted his head at you. “go on.”
“izzy, she, she came in to wake you up.” you said. jace didn’t say anything.
“i don’t see the problem.”
“jace, this isn’t funny!” you felt helpless.
“i’m really not laughing,” he whispered, touched by your anger.
“jace, she saw me.” you said finally.
“oh,” he looked away.
“yeah.” you sat up, wrapping yourself in the blanket.
“well,” he started, reaching for a dagger on his bedside table and spinning it on his finger. “she should be happy. she was the one who thought we’d be just adorable together.”
“she said i can’t mess with you,” you whispered. “not— not in the way we already did, but i mean, break your heart. she said she’d ‘mess with my throat’ if i did.”
jace chuckles a laugh, seemingly teasing. “she’s just being the overprotective sister she thinks she is. she thinks she’s superior. which, obviously, is a funny joke to me.”
as you stood up, you shot him a sideways look. you’d brought extra clothes into his room the night before, so you had them on your side of the bed.
“jace,” you called. “you don’t think she’s mad, do you?”
your head turned and resting on your shoulder, you saw jace consider this. “not necessarily,” he answered, “i think she must have always expected this would happen. haven’t we?”
jace was always the one to chase you, and you hadn’t started liking him until a year back. so in a way, you did kind of see it happen. “sort of.”
“what do you mean, sort of?” jace asked, sliding a shirt on. you put your black jeans on, then looked at him. he looked hurt.
“we grew up the way alec and izzy did together,” you said slowly.
“not true. they’re siblings; blood.”
you nodded. “we considered ourselves as siblings for the longest time, because we loved each other so much. now we see it was in a different way, i suppose. i never saw this coming until about last year.”
jace’s eyes relaxed, and he turned back to his clothes. you smiled, slipping a shirt on.
“okay, but what would hodge think?” you turned around, as did jace, but he did more slowly.
“oh…” he whispered. “i didn’t— i didn’t think about that.”
you bit your lip. “we work well together, we fight well together. we’ll most likely work together better now.”
jace sighed, not saying anything and slid a hood on.
“done?” he asked, walking over to you and grabbing your hands.
“yeah, i just need to brush my hair.” you told him. he nodded and let go, grabbing a brush from his dresser. you muttered things about it being knotty under your breath, curating as it hurt your hairline.
“careful,” jace said, coming close to your ear. “i did that. watch your mouth.”
you stopped brushing to understand what he was saying, and your eyes widened as you noticed what he meant.
“come on,” he said impatiently as usual. he grabbed your arm and pushed you out of the now open door, not forgetting to stick his stele into his pocket.
he grabbed your hand once he shut the door, grabbing your hand and leading you down a winding set of steps.
“you know where he is?” he asked. he looked around, probably to see if anyone saw you and him holding hands.
you considered it for a second. “the library, probably.”
he nodded. “the usual.”
you giggled as you reached the bottom of the stairs, heading to the library.
you let go of jace’s hand, starting to feel like it was sweaty.
you walked into the library as hodge stood up. he eyes you too suspiciously.
“good morning, dear lovebirds.”

Your room was dark when you stared out into space. Totally zoned out with your blade on your lap. You had been sharpening it but a rude awakening inside your head made you stop. A thought that had been stressing you out for weeks now. Barely catching any sleep. It started to show on your body. Thin dark circles underneath your eyes. Less concentrated or willing to put up a fight. You couldn’t help it, but it had a grip on you. Living your life for you.
With these darker times at the academy, came your darker thoughts. What if you weren’t strong enough to face Valentine. What if all your work was for nothing. What if the world turned to darkness. What is humanity lost. You couldn’t stop the worrying in your head that kept winding up. Every time you thought of something bad, an even worser thought appeared. Valentine laughing loud as he mocks you. Torments you in your nightmares so much you didn’t dream anymore. Just nightmares.
“She’s at it again.” – Alex said to Jace, walking side by side in the hallway. – “I can’t get a single reaction out of her.” – Jace hummed soft, acknowledging his words. Alec leaded Jace up to your room, opening the door. He stepped aside, leaving Jace to see it for himself. Jace entered your room, seeing you sit on the edge of your bed. – “Y/n?” – he softly said. When no reaction came out of you, turned he to look at Alec. – “I told you.” – he said, scratching his chin. Jace entered your room more, coming to kneel before you.
“Y/n.” – he repeated, laying his hand carefully on your knee. – “Y/n, love.” – he squeezed your leg, seeing no sparkle in your eyes. You widened your eyes, picking the blade up from your lap. In seconds held Jace his hands up, the blade against his throat. – “It’s me Y/n. Jace. It’s just Jace.” – he said calmly, not keeping his eyes off you. Alec inhaled sharply, wanting to interfere.
Jace moved his hand to Alec, telling him to not intrude. You were breathing heavy, looking at Jace, but also not looking at him. It was like you didn’t recognize who was before you. – “Y/n. listen to my voice. It’s alright.” – you fluttered with your eyelashes, slowly returning. – “Jace…” – you breathed out. Jace nodded, waiting for you to remove the blade from against his throat.
You gasped at what you were doing. You removed the blade from him, throwing it away somewhere behind you. – “I’m so sorry…” – you called out, letting your face fall in your palms. Jace shushed you, bringing his hands to your shoulders. – “It’s alright Y/n.” – He said reassuring. – “How is it alright? Jace I could’ve killed you!” – you called out, lifting your head up. – “But you didn’t.” – joked he out. You punched him against his shoulder for ever being so optimistic.
“Look Y/n for what it is worth, I just know you can’t kill me.” – He took both your hands. You quirked an eyebrow up. – “Your not strong enough to do so.” – he chuckled out. You were about to punch him again when he grabbed your wrist. – “I’m sorry.” – you sighed out, lowering your hand. – “I can’t get Valentine out of my head, and I haven’t been sleeping properly.” – you complained. Jace brushed his thumb against your cheek, sending a flutter up your cheek.
“What you need my love is peace.” – You laughed loud, finding his answer a tat ridiculous. Jace tsked loud with a shake of his head. – “You break my heart.” – he dramatically said, pretending to be stabbed in the heart. You started to laugh, Jace quirking his eyebrow at his achievement. – “I’ve missed that smile.” – he breathed out, staring lovingly at you.
“So do I.” – you confessed, staring at your hands on your lap. Jace plucked your hand from your lap, taking it in his. – “Allow me to cure you milady?” – he got up, still holding your hand. You nodded, wanting to get back to your old self. The one that wasn’t always doomsday thinking. You let Jace pull you up. – “That’s my girl.” – he whispered in your ear before leaving a soft kiss against your cheek. Alec stepped aside for you to pass.
Jace nodded at Alec that he had this covered. That he would make sure everything will be alright. Alec thanked him, taking his leave. Alec went to the left as Jace guided you to the right. – “Where are we going?” – you questioned, following him blindly. – “My favorite place.” – Jace replied, pulling you closer to him. He lead you towards the gardens as it had been such a long time since you’ve been there. You always told yourself to stop by more often, but busy life schedules had other plans.
You inhaled deep at all the exotic plants and flowers. It smelled fresh. Jace shifted his other hand to yours, resting his right hand on your hip. – “Allow me to guide you, my love.” – he breathed down your neck. You nodded when he told you to close your eyes. You did, taking in the darkness on your eyelids. Jace started to walk with you as it felt a bit awkward at first.
You didn’t want to bump into anything or look like a fool wandering around the garden blind. – “No one is here.” – Jace chuckled, seeing that you held yourself back. You exhaled deep, letting go of the worries that anyone was watching you. The further you went, the more at ease you felt. – “Take a deep breath.” – Jace whispered, just behind your ear. You did as you were told, taking in a deep breath. The smell of the outdoors filling your nostrils.
You hummed pleased at how well it smelled. – “Let in your mind.” – Jace said. You focused your mind on the smells. It didn’t took you long to imagine things before you. Jace let his lips trail down your neck. It send a rush up your spine, intensifying your senses. – “Tell me what you see.” – he asked, leaving a gentle kiss on your skin. – “Green.” – you answered, trees popping up in your mind. – “Flowers that smell like lavender.” – you added, seeing them in your mind.
“What else.” – Jace asked curious, letting his hands slide up your collarbone. His head resting against your back. You breathed shakily at what Jace made you feel. – “I see fireflies in the air. They surround me.” – you smiled at the thought. – “They leave and circle another person.”
“Who is it?” – Jace wanted to know, listening to the beating of your heart. You breathed in deep, another shot of wildflowers hitting you up like a drug. The picture in your mind became clearer. A person who you could only see the silhouette of. He extends his hand out to you. You want to take it as it feels save. Once you place your hand in his, his face becomes clear.
“It’s you.” – you whisper, so hungover from your dream it almost feels real. – “How do you feel?” – He asked, lifting his head up from your back. – “Peaceful, calm, balanced.” – you told him. – “Now open your eyes, love.” – You opened your eyes on his instructions. You slowly turned around, seeing him smile. You smiled back at him, sensing a kind of peace in your mind. – “Hold on to that feeling, Y/n.” – you nodded, intertwining your fingers with his.
Jace started to walk backwards, away from the exotic flowers. He leaded you to a part in the grass where he sat down. You sat down with him. He exhaled deep, laying down. You laid down beside him, your head laying on his chest. Jace kissed the top of your head, moving his arms around you. – “Thank you.” – you said, drawing circles on his chest with your finger. – “What for?” – chuckled he out, stroking your forehead, brushing some hair aside.
“For bringing back peace inside of me.” – you specified, lifting your head up. – “I mean it. I wouldn’t know what to do without you.” – Jace smiled up to you. You leaned down, kissing him. His lips explored every inch of yours as his hands found a way to your hair. Massaging your scalp it felt like heaven. – “I love you Y/n.” – he expressed, his lips inches away from yours.
You blinked surprised as he rarely said it out of the blue. It surprised you that he dared to lay his feelings out like this. You kissed him slowly to show him how much you loved him as well. Jace exhaled deep when your head rested on his chest again. He kept brushing his fingers against your arm. He hummed confused, lifting his head a bit up at the sound of your heartbeat slowing down. He chuckled silently seeing that you had fallen asleep on him. He kissed the top of your head, wrapping his arms better around you. He then closed his eyes, hoping you’d visit him in his dreams.

Telling
Summary: Jace Wayland x lightwood!ftm reader; Reader is pregnant and struggles with how to tell Jace
You’re pretty sure Jace asking you to marry him was the hardest thing he’d ever done; you joked he always did the hard work and you were a little embarrassed how proud you were when you’d watched him walk down the aisle; playfully turning traditions on its head. Being a Lightwood meant you were always going to be a hunter; it was in your blood as much as it was in everyone else’s at the institute; so no one was surprised that despite the usual wedding ceremony, and marriage runes you both carved into each other’s shoulders there was still room to improve of the stereotypes of the bride walking down the aisle since you were his husband as much as he was yours.
That was two years ago and you wouldn’t change anything that had happened since then; or give anything up. You stare down at a positive pregnancy test; apparently the birth control rune wasn’t as effective as Clary had promised. You know no one in the institute cared that you had transitioned; they didn’t know the details and they didn’t need to; all they cared about were that you could still hunt. Looking back down you realize this might be something they care about; if only for the fact they’re losing out on you being a hunter for at least a year. If not longer depending on how everyone feels about babysitting. You chuckle a little at the idea of your brother and sister becoming an aunt and uncle; or them babysitting.
You don’t know how you managed to keep it a secret for so long. You really do think it probably helps there’s been a rise in demon attacks. You try not to be too conscious of avoiding hunts; of trying to make ti obvious something was wrong. Isabelle and Alec already knew; and you knew they were trying to keep you out as much of the actual fighting as possible.
At least the excuse they were coming up with was your anniversary with Jace was coming up and they didn’t want you getting banged up to ruin whatever he had planned. Which is how you find yourself sitting with Alec struggling to try and explain why you need him at the next doctor's appointment; the one confirming you’re actually pregnant. You’d been going to a doctor that Alec had found; one who was aware of the Shadow hunters; aware of you, of what having children would mean for you; who wouldn’t flinch at any runes you had on you. He’d even added a few of his own; health and protection he’d said. They were small; easily hidden by your regular clothes; not that jace even seemed to notice them.
“Did you figure out how to tell him?” Isabelle nods and you grin at her.
“Yeah I’m just going to come out and say it.”
“Really you’re hitting him with the double whammy of ‘i’m pregnant and it’s twins’ You sure that's… Simon no! It’s Y/N… he’s… Do not say a word; why are you here..”
“There’s a higher demon; well signature of one; we all have to go… Sorry Y/N can’t give you paperwork today.” Simon grins; clearly already having accepted he’s going to be an uncle. He looks a little relieved and you wonder if he and Isabelle have ever talked about kids; Jace and you had, but it had been a quick conversation; a nice thought for when the threats were taken care of. Not now, not when there was a risk of a higher demon being around.
“Is everyone ready?” Jace shouts; making sure everyone has their weapons out. You’re towards the middle; you know Simon and Alec had collaborated to make that happen; you also knew Jace had no idea; so when you all run in to jump into the main fight you try your best not to be too nervous at the demons that seem to have no end.
“What the fuck were you thinking!!???! Why the fuck would you try to…” Simon grimaces as Jace snarls at him; clearly annoyed he’d jumped in front of the blast.
“Y/N can take care of himself; you know you can’t handle something like that..”
“Yeah but like I’m going to take the blame for all three of them getting hurt.” Simon snaps and his eyes widen. “Oh fuck Y/N I’m so sorry; I didn’t…”
“No it’s fine; pretty sure you finally got your wish; he’s shut up for once; might even be speechless.”
“You’re pregnant?”
“Mhm, with twins.”
