I find it completely hilarious to think after Simon was freed from the crown and got to be himself in Ooo that he and Finn have a close relationship that neither of them understand.

Finn views Simon as a fellow human, someone he saw at their lowest point and now is on the upswing and now they can be buddies and go on adventures together. He also wants to do sleepovers all the time, what a bro. Simon sure is fussy with him, like Jake sometimes is, must be because they're such good friends.

So a lot of text again I suppose haha!

Was thinking about how they would get to know each other. And how M&S are getting ahold of the situation oh-god-we-got-a-kid-here. So, Steven will be more accepting&understanding about it, but Marc would be more initiative. And I’ll explain that now:)

We see how terrified Marc is when he says ‘we blacked out’ in ep6. It could be because he afraid that he ‘made to suffer’ someone else. He already feels guilty that Steven “appeared” in the first place, and is just devasted when Steven found out about Wendy.

Marc is a very deeply loving and very deeply feeling person. Incredibly sensitive, and so closed up because of it. He’s not ready for another guilt trip of his mind.

So I think that he would completely deny Jake till the ‘oh he’s only a kid’ moment. Then all the brother love would burst out of him. He would buy albums, paints, brushes, colour pencils, watercolours, canvases etc just for him. The ‘proud corner’ is basically his idea. He had made something similar as a kid for Roro. So. Yes.

He’s not really good at communicating with him, but he loves him very, very deeply, and adores him in every way possible:) he’s always eager to do smt for Jake, with time they will learn how to be real brothers:3

Therefore all M&J&S communication falls on Steven’s shoulders.

He is better in understanding Jake, what he wants, what to tell him. It was his idea to make some personal space for Jake, his own table with lots of shelves for his car models, instruments, interesting things he found on the street, his drawings, things he did out of clay(so, all his stuff basically). Steven choose and assembled both table and shelves himself. (I think he himself did the interior of histheir home, Marc bought an empty apartment and just let Steven do whatever he wants lmao. So he quite experienced in all that furniture stuff) And it was hell of a process I might add AHHA He wanted it to be perfect, so he was pretty anxious while preparing all that, and when they finally introduced Jake his new space and oh it is the thing I actually planning to draw soon so nope I’m stopping my self right here:D

To sum up, they’re doing their best to live a happy simple normal life and they are damn good at it:3

For me when Lo'ak calls Jake telling him what and who they found Neteyam doesn't wait a single moment.

They arrive, he jumps off his ikran, and he founds the others in no time, his parents behind him.

"Tuk you ok?" He asks first and Tuk who is shaken nods and she hugs him tightly.

That how the family finds out, them returning to the others and hearing Neteyam say 'mate' to Spider.

Neteyam getting kidnapped with Spider because there is no way he leaves his mate behind.

I'm so sorry, I have many things to say about this.

FIRST OF ALL, killing myself at Spider calling Neteyam "dude" only for Neteyam to respond with "my dear mate." Like, the audacity. Neteyam's not even worried anymore he's simply like, doubling down on nicknames to combat DUDE. His family find out because he was pissed about being called dude. Now I simply have to headcanon that Spider is calling Neteyam the most platonic, dudebro names possible while Neteyam tries to call him sappier and grosser pet names.

Spider: Hey man, what's up?

Neteyam: Seriously? Hey gorgeous, how are you, BELOVED?

Spider: I'm doing great, thanks, my guy.

Neteyam: Great to hear, sweetness.

Spider: How about you...

Neteyam: Don't say it.

Secondly, I still am of the hardcore nocorro mindset where Spider is Neteyam's place to be vulnerable and voice all of his fears and inadequacies. I don't vibe super hard with the idea of any of Spider's relationships being the na'vi character protecting him all the time, I don't think he would accept that. He can handle himself and he would hate being babied. Plus, the Sully's especially are so important to him because they treat him like an equal. So I guess I'm fighting you on this road?

That being said, I do find the idea of Neteyam hiding the fact that he's trying to protect Spider from him, so he's just secretly threatening Lo'ak all the time, whispered fights behind Spider's back or as soon as he leaves, like "that is my mate now not just your dumbass idiot best friend, stop trying to get him killed along with you." And Lo'ak's just threatening to tell Spider about it all the time.

Neteyam: don't bring Spider to that.

Lo'ak: oOH, I'M TELLING HIM YOU SAID THAT.

Neteym: WAIT-

Finally, I can see Spider getting kidnapped while they are secretly mated, just because Neteyam trusts his parents. The drama would be this might be the incident to break that unfailing trust. They are kids, and despite growing up in a battle, their parents are legends. I think it would be a big deal for Neteyam to have them not bring his mate back, even unintentionally. They're supposed to be the perfect people he's living up to, what the fuck is he doing if they can fail? Mental crisis.

I think in the universe where the Cullens aren't in Forks, Bella Swan takes a while to come out of her shell, but when she does, she's witty and passionate and smart as a whip, even if she's still quiet and reserved. She sits with Jessica Stanley, who demands the best of everyone, and tells her friends about her boyfriend down on the rez, who is sweet and caring and funny and good with his hands, who works for everything he's ever had.

After class, during a sleepover, Bella whispers to tell Angie and Jess about the night after prom, even though her father, loving and careless, worries about her only a normal amount and loves Jacob Black like his own. When she gets into Dartmouth--all by herself, through study sessions in garages and with Jessica and in Angela's house--she chooses to go to Stanford instead. She misses the heat and light on her skin, even after falling in love with the rain. Jessica comes with her; Angela and Eric go to U of Washington in Seattle instead, for education and journalism respectively.

Bella makes sure to call every week and then one day she drives down to Seattle and her boyfriend, warm like the sun she loves and at least twice as reliable, becomes her fiancé. The ring isn't especially big or ornate or pricey, but the way she smiles could trick anyone into thinking that it was. All of her friends, new and old, are waiting at the small party afterwards, and Bella laughs the entire time. The engagement cake--chocolate, her favourite--is sweet and moist against her tongue.

She moves back to Forks once she gets her masters in information sciences and becomes the town's librarian. She gets married a month before the move, barefoot in the surf and her old prom dress, both her parents weeping with joy and Billy Black beaming damn near as bright as his son, Sue Clearwater holding his hand.

She raises her kids --both beautiful children, blessed with Jake's thick, long hair--with Angela and Eric's and takes them down to Los Angeles to visit their auntie Jess and her husband Quil, who lavishes them with gifts from her career as a top surgeon. She jokes about having to support Quil's career as an environmental lawyer and displays each and every one of his wins alongside her diplomas. When William Black II decides he wants to be a doctor too, she writes him a shining letter of recommendation to her alma mater. Sarah, who has always been the spitting image of her father, joins and eventually takes over Jacob's mechanic shop.

On occasion, Bella fights with Jacob, even though he's the love of her life. Despite this, she is never afraid of him, and he never stops her from doing what she wants. Instead, he goes out and works on his cars and comes back in an hour later with slightly greasy hands and a bouquet of flowers from Emily Young's little garden, planted to celebrate her cousin Leah Uley's wedding. Bella makes him muffins, recipe courtesy of Sue and missing bites courtesy of Seth, Colin, Sarah, Will, and Claire, with raspberries, not blueberries, just how Jake likes them. They make up, and they make changes, and they go on.

Eventually, both slower and quicker than she realizes, Bella gets old. She lives in fear of losing herself, of losing her husband and her children, like her grandmother had. But she remembers her grandkids to the very end, even gets to meet her first great-grandchild a week before it happens. Her heart gives out before her brain does, too weak and too slow.

It was too full of love, the letter from Jacob says. Sarah reads it. Her father passed a day after his wife--simply too heartbroken to live without her. Much of the town of Forks and hordes of family attend their funeral, remembering a life well lived.

It is an unremarkable life, in the grand scheme of things. She does not live to be a thousand; she is no great beast, with speed like the wind and strength; she does not discover her powers or lead a great defiance. Bella Black, happy and human and surrounded by love, could never imagine wanting anything else.

You never would have guessed that Jake "Hangman" Seresin was into guys (too?). However, his surprisingly light flirting with the guy next to you tells a different story.

You try not to eavesdrop, you really do, but you can't help it.

It comes as quite a shock to both you and the guy he's been talking to when Hangman says that he likes him but has a confession to make. He is, in fact, not into guys. BUT if he likes Jake, then he will love Javy, his bestie who is just right up there at the pool tables.

Your reply earns a comically raised eyebrow that has you smiling even wider as you feel compelled to say what's on your mind. "That was really sweet of you. Totally weird, but sweet."

He humms at that, sitting down next to you and the glint in eyes tells you that you are about to witness when he not only half-heartedly flirts.

I wanna slap a lil' disclaimer on here: I'm not involved in the military in any branch; my father was, but he retired out before I was even born, and due to some things I don't feel like putting on here, I no longer have him in my life. That being said- thank you to the wonderful writers & folks on here who've given me more information that I didn't have/didn't previously know of! I've only recently really been digging into my own family's military history (specifically with the Seabees), so what I know primarily comes from word of mouth or what I've been able to look into during my free time.

Also please do not take what I write on here as word of a god, per say. I'm just a writer who has found these two movies to be a massive comfort. But I'll be adjusting what I have written in here with information I've received, as well as shove this neat little piece of information about the Chest Candy that the Dagger Squad has thanks to @wombtotombx !!

I rewatched Top Gun: Maverick today and I noticed so many more little details that I hadn't before, so here you go. My thoughts. My rambles. Some theories.

First thing I noticed in the beginning is Maverick's patches on his flight jacket. He has it filled up with so many- but he also has a Seabee patch. The Seabees are a branch of the Navy that are sent in ahead of everyone else to literally build shelters for the soldiers and roads- and sometimes, embassies. (My dad was a Seabee in the 80s and 90s; he helped build the US Embassy in Cairo.) Which means that Maverick, at some point, maybe was not an aviator and instead worked on the GROUND. This isn't confirmed, he could have just been friends with a Seabee and they traded patches!

Whether this was BEFORE the events of TG or during the blank period, I don't know, but I genuinely loved that little detail. I just like that they included a little nod to them.

As we know from the first movie, Mav was never able to go into the Academy; chances are, he enlisted at 18 and went in starting at an E-0 rate, went through OCS (Officer Candidate School), or was able to be in ROTC during his high school/college years.

Also, Admiral Simpson is a 3 Star Admiral; Admiral Kazansky was a 4 Star Admiral.

Admiral Simpson was in the Academy the year Pete graduated, entering in 86 and graduating in 88 (the Academy takes 4 years to go through according to the current curriculum and rules). He would have just entered when the Accident occurred. He knows of Maverick, knows who he is and what he's capable of. He doesn't hate him. He just doesn't trust him, not completely, because of how reckless he is. [PLS NOTE THE ACADEMY IS USNA, NOT TOPGUN. I genuinely forgot to slap this in here but thank you to @indynerdgirl for this]

But Maverick has 6 rows of ribbons on his dress whites. How neat.

Warlock has 6.5 rows of ribbons!

I'm causally nabbing this from the replies to this post but @wombtotombx explained ribbons better than I've been able to understand: "More ribbons does absolutely not equal higher esteem! For example, you could have two ribbons because you received two individual meritorious awards (a Joint Achievement for being at a joint command, and a Navy/MC (Marine Corps, bc they're sister branches) Achievement at a Navy Command). But if you received these individual meritorious awards at Navy commands, you'd only get one ribbon (Navy/MC Achievement, with two stars). You can also have different ribbons for campaigns, which does not mean "esteem" but just means you were in the right place at the right time. For example, East Coast carriers that deployed to the Middle East and ended up with the Afghanistan & Inherent Resolve ribbons, plus GWOT-E. West Coast carriers did not have equivalent campaign ribbons. You could have done just as many sorties/strikes in the Pacific, but not have those "ribbons" because they don't exist."

But this also made me realize that Rueben Fitch/Payback doesn't have any ribbons at all on his uniform. Just his Wings of Gold.

Hondo is still amazing and is the literal backbone when he's on the carriers. He's the one who reads everything on the screens and without his guidance, no one would know what the fuck to do.

Natasha and Bradley have HISTORY- what that is, I don't know, but enough that she genuinely trusts his flying more than Jake's- meaning they have flown together in the past. Possibly all three have flown together.

Also, Coyote's "Hey" to her- HOO those two have HISTORY, TOO.

Natasha trusted Robert the MOMENT she realized he was her backseat. Any man who can just sneak up and no one notice? Thats a damn good pilot.

Jake was closer to Coyote, Halo, Omaha, Yale, and Harvard than the others. B Team vs A Team.

Omaha was Yale's backseat; Harvard flew alone. Halo was someone's RIO, but I can't remember who. [ EDIT: Rooster, Hangman, Coyote, and Fritz are single-seaters; Halo is Omaha's WSO and Harvard is Yale's WSO! ]

Iceman telling Pete that it's time to let go- not just of Goose (which he still doesn't), but of him, too. Tom knew that he was dying. He knew it. And he wanted Pete to be prepared. And how sad Tom looked when Pete started crying- his heart broke.

P e n n y. PENNY. The opening scene when Bradley starts singing Great Balls of Fire- how she looks so happy until she sees Maverick and sees that thousand yard stare- how she realizes that oh, holy shit, this is GOOSE'S son, and Pete is having a whole ass PTSD flashback. And how Pete's face crumbled- genuinely paled and looked ready to cry.

And then seeing how broken Pete was at Tom's funeral. How he was trying so fucking hard to hold those tears back because god, he's alone now. Rooster's words are true: no wife, no children, no one to mourn.

He's alone. Tom was the last piece. And he's gone.

Pete still talking to Goose gives me chills. He'll always talk to him. That's his wingman. But hearing him talk to Bradley immediately after he whispered 'Talk to me, dad.' God DAMN.

Also Bradley has a fear of open water. Its obvious. How he looks at the water while they fly over? Holy shit, that boy is scared out of his mind. All he can think of is this is how dad died in open water.

Jake Seresin. Jake, cocky bastard that he is, deserves to be a little cocky because he has three whole rows of ribbons. But he learned to care for his team, here. I don't think he had this connection to a team prior to this. And how terrified he looked while on standby when he heard that Rooster went down. He looked genuinely terrified. But was so, so fucking proud of his team when they got through it originally, before shit went BAD.

Also, whatever history he has with Natasha? And Rooster? I need to know. I loved hearing the Texan drawl.

But I think he tries to psych out his fellow pilots to make sure they're prepared for their mission. He wants to know who he can trust and who'll fuck it all up. And Rooster was the genuine wildcard, here.

Also, out of the 12 of them, Natasha and Jake have the most ribbons. They both have 3 full rows. From that I could see, I think Mickey (Fanboy) has the least, but I think that's because he may be the youngest? I'm not 100% sure on that, though.
