Here’s a bit from a fic I’m working on for Star Trek Voyager, between Kathryn & Chakotay where she proposes to him! <3

“Chakotay eventually was pulled away by some of his ex-Maquis members, and as soon as Kathryn wasn’t surrounded by adoring crewmates, Seven appeared and wrapped her (?) arms around Kathryn, who was so lovingly shocked.

“Seven, this is a surprise,” she said softy, hesitant to give the woman the hug back. Though, she couldn’t be happier. Seven eventually pulled away. “It is my understanding that physical affection is a common display of support and appreciation. Also, to show congratulations…” Seven paused, clearly lost for the correct words. “So… Congratulations,” she said quickly. Kathryn couldn’t describe how proud she was of her in that moment. She was proud of all of her crew but seeing Seven’s progress (something something.) She quickly wandered off. In between hugs and supportive affirmations, Kathryn followed Tuvok who stood in the back of the crowd. Tuvok greeted her with a respectful nod. “Congratulations are in order, Captain,” he said while he still faced the crowd. Kathryn stood at his side. “Thank you, Tuvok. I can’t think of a better man to stand at my side at the aisle.” “Perhaps you are forgetting the groom,” he said dryly, which earned a chuckled from Kathryn. She placed a hand on his shoulder. “As my best man,” she explained with a smile. “Which I will expect from you or I’ll have you demoted.” She pointed a finger at him. Tuvok turned to face her, as she did in return. “On that subject, it is customary that, should the Captain and the First Officer be unavailable, the Second Officer has full authority to officiate the union.” Kathryn gaped at him then smiled warmly. “Tuvok,” she said as she placed a hand on her shoulder, “Nothing would make me happier.””
