is the day i will never shut up EVER AGAIN!!!!

I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!! cause I KNOW its implied that Adam moving away caused a rift and that they’ve always argued, but not like THIS it just feels different!! I need to know I NEED TO KNOW!

My headcanon is something along the lines of: Cherry had feelings for Adam, and Joe had feelings for Cherry. Adam leaving broke Cherrys heart, and Joe felt abandoned by his friends. He never got the man he cares SO MUCH ABOUT and Cherry never got that compensation about why Adam left them.

So that leads to Joe and Cherry growing that bickering habit and cold-ness for each other, but they’ve known each other for SO LONG that the fondness for each other they grew in high school never left. Joe still loves Cherry, but Cherry is focused on himself and making Adam explain himself/pay for what happened now instead. I love their dynamic and theorizing about them so much

BUT I WANT ANSWERS. a confession gone wrong, a bad argument. I want to see what happened.

a break from ur regularly scheduled doginahat posts for CHERRY JOE AND MIYA HEADCANONS. they are the sweetest happiest family and they make my heart so soft. please enjoy

- joe is papa and cherry is dad argue with the wall

- miya has frequent nightmares / insomnia & cherry and joe are so patient with getting him back to sleep. cherry brings back his old lullabies, joe reads to him, they make tea for him and make time to cuddle and love on miya so he’ll fall asleep feeling safe

- cherry and joe have been calling miya “mimi” ever since they got close with him and it is a CHERRY AND JOE ONLY THING. a dad & papa only nickname. shadow overheard once tho and now he never lets miya live it down

- miya is obv a moody teenager with an attitude.. so ofc he yells at them sometimes and will slam doors and says shit he doesn’t mean. but he always gives them each a hug and a tearful apology. at the end of the day, miya loves his dads more than anything

- around S hes a bit more distant from cherry and joe.. probably causing mayhem with reki langa & shadow or doing tricks to show off. at home tho miya never gets tired of the affection & kisses & hugs from his parents he’s such a baby

- miya has super thick hair and had no fuckin clue how to handle it until cherry stepped in to help him brush it out & dry it after miya washed it (pushing my cherry can style hair very well agenda)

- cherry’s homescreen is a photo of joe sleeping on the couch on his back w/ his arms cradling miya who is sleeping against his chest

Rating: What’s below teen? It’s fine for whatever age…

Summary: Cherry and Joe are planning the wedding. Kaoru is going overboard and Joe is trying to be supportive. It's...not going well.

I wrote this for the Sk8 the Infinity wedding zine, Hear the Bells Ring. I was surprised to get in the zine, as I had no Sk8 content out in the universe…just a WIP that was in rough draft form. Thankfully, since it was a fairly new fandom, the mods were alright with applicants submitting non-Sk8 stuff. To know that I got in on the strength of my writing was very humbling. Not only that, I found out that I was one of four writers chosen. Humbling times one hundred.

It was set up rather cleverly, I thought. Each writer was to take one of four ships (Renga, MatchaBlossom, ShadOka, and TadAi)…and also one of four wedding stages (engagement, planning, ceremony, and reception). I hoped to get Renga, as that is my ship. I was writing a Renga piece for another zine, and the WIP mentioned above is Renga. Alas, the guest writer for the zine was a Renga writer and they had first choice. I hoped, then, to get MatchaBlossom. I thought their dynamic would be perfect for a funny story with wedding planning. I did get MatchaBlossom and planning…and now you get to enjoy Joe and Cherry insulting the heck out of each other while trying to plan a wedding.

Shadow makes a brief appearance, but the others are only mentioned. I also use Joe and Cherry’s real names, instead of their “S” names. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this!
