so i’ve been Thinking™️ about rdr2 and rdr1 recently and i keep thinking about Jack in the rdr1 epilogue

rdr1 && rdr2 spoilers below 🔽🔽

I always see people talking about how lonely Arthur was, or how lonely John was. And while I agree with these, both Arthur and John had someone to go back to in the end.

Before Arthur’s death and before the gang fell apart, he could go back to the gang - to people who loved and cared for him.

The same goes for John, but it also goes with John in the rdr2 epilogue - he was able to go back to his family.

While Jack, in the rdr1 epilogue, had no one to go back to. unless he wanted to talk to graves ( which isn’t too likely ), he didn’t have really anyone to fall back on.

As I said to my friend, Uncle and John died in 1911 while Abigail died in 1914.

But this also makes me wonder of some ‘what if’s’

What if John never went back to enact revenge on Micah in the rdr2 epilogue and Edgar Ross, in return, found Micah’s body and tracked John back to Beecher‘s hope?

What if the gang fell apart naturally instead of by Micah’s(?) own doing?

Would everything that happened to John, Abigail, and Jack never happened or would it still happen eventually?
