Pictured: Meyer with glamazonian starlet Edy Williams, best remembered for her performance as the predatory, sexually insatiable Ashley St Ives in Meyer’s Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970). The two were stormily married between 1970 and 1975. “We were an extraordinary couple,” Meyer would recall. “A sex bomb with an old pornographer.”The 2005 book Big Bosoms and Square Jaws: The Biography of Russ Meyer by Jimmy McDonough is compulsory reading.
