#jon walker mention
Text
warning brendon mention + also excessive usage of brackets and like no punctuation/formatting except for paragraph breaks iM SORRY
sick and tired of ppl saying panic went to shit after ryan and jon left like yes it downgraded (compared to afycso my fave album from them) B U T ian (even tho he was only there for a few years) and dallon (who stayed on til 2017 oh how he put up with a lot of bs over the years) rlly kept it from tanking in those key years imo
like dallon is credited w writing most of v&v (with the exception of "nearly witches" - ryan wrote that) and all of twtltytd (is that even the album name idk i dont rlly listen to post ryan panic sorry not sorry) and he played bass not only for the end of pretty odd touring but also as part of the band til 2015 and then continued touring til 2017 (plus apparently brendon stopped him from releasing a song w 21 pilots which is actually why im writing this lmfao) like
dallons writing was on a similar level to ryans and it feels mean/unfair to reduce those albums that he did write to "shit" bc ryan wasnt there
and yes doab has a couple of bops (crazy = genius and also la devotee imo) but overall they dont cancel out what is mostly a shit album (ok yes dont threaten me w a good time is okay too but he did NOT make those high heels work good lord) esp cause there were literally none of the ogs except brendon on that)
and ofc pftw is ass if i ever hear high hopes or hey look ma i made it i actively try and leave wherever i am (they fucking played high hopes at a skate night i went to WHEN I WAS COSPLAYING RYAN ROSE VEST)
also side note fuck u brendon for continuing to play camisado after ryan left even tho it was like the one song he asked you to stop performing it cause it was rlly personal to him AND YOU DIDNT LISTEN (ofc all the songs were personal to him but camisado was one of the ones that he specifically drew on his experiences w/ his father to write)
also side note 2 imo panic died when spencer left (2013) but was temporarily revived til dallon left (2017) and brendons been dragging its corpse around for the last 6 years. and idc what anyone says the touring artists he played with do not count as panic cause no offence but like their title says theyre TOURING ARTISTS (like how dallon didnt consider himself a part of panic when he was touring w em til they asked him officially and then when he "stopped contributing creatively" - his words) like i rlly doubt ppl can name them off the top of their heads (altho theyre underappreciated for dealing w brendon)
if you've read this far PLEASE feel free to comment (? is taht what its called here) and/or reblog w ur additions/opinions im fairly open-minded abt others ideas!

do you guys ever listen to a band so much that you end up making fake merch for it?
(reblogs greatly appreciated!!!!)
close ups and commentary under the cut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
about the poster itself: do you guys know how hard it is to make art for a band that hasn’t been active in 13 years? the answer is HARD (yes, i probably could done research and looked for old interviews for inspiration but who has time for that)
—> the icons related to “take a vacation!” are inspired by lyrics from the song “take a vacation!” (haha, did you see what I did there?) specifically, the lines “we’ll leave the waves at the ocean” and “we’ll leave the sand in a suitcase”
—> the Jon Walker and Ryan Ross icons are taken directly from the album cover (it took ten years off my life trying to figure out how to get them on here w/ the color palette—graphic design may be my passion but I never said i was GOOD at it)
—> the heart imagery comes from the fact that the band’s called “the young VEINS”—although it annoys me IMMENSELY that i technically drew more arteries than veins in the icons (my anatomy teacher would be so disappointed, but alas, anatomical accuracy had to be sacrificed to make it. yknow. look nice)
—> i did hand-lettering for all the text except for everything that’s in Helvetica (i did THAT in canva). the art program i use has a basically unusable text tool so I was forced to draw all of it, so I choose to believe that the reason why it doesn’t look. the best. is because of the caffeine shakes
some extra commentary: am I the only one who’s genuinely REALLY bad at listening to music? i don’t really get into bands as much as i just find songs that sound nice—to illustrate the extent of this issue: i did NOT know that Brendon Urie was a part of Panic! At the Disco. I’m not even kidding, I thought the artist who made Death of a Bachelor and the artist who made A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out were completely different and just. didn’t bother to check if I was right.
also, I’m not the type of person to be interested in band lore???? I rarely know the names of band members if even I’ve listened to the band for years (I really couldn’t care less in most situations)
case in point, i did not know who the FUCK Ryan Ross was!!! i knew he was in p!atd but that’s literally about it—before a couple of days ago if you asked to me pick out either Ryan Ross or Jon Walker from a line up I would not be able to get even CLOSE
anyway, my friend/manager is really into band lore, so I basically got a crash-course in all things “early to late 2000s emo band” and subsequently found out about the Young Veins (i was also extremely disappointed when I found out they only had one album and hadn’t been active in over a decade) THEN I realized that decade old, inactive bands don’t usually have merch, so I made my own! “merch” used lightly—i don’t think this is actually fit to sell lol
anyway that’s all k thanks byeee :D!! (and go stream the young veins!!)

controversial take (maybe?) but if you think ryan should "taylor's version" afycso and pretty. odd. and/or you listen to those shitty ai covers with his voice then i know you're not a real one because what do you mean?? afycso and pretty. odd. is his version he was the creative director behind them. panic! at the disco was a collaborative effort and ryan + spencer led the main ideas/themes/aesthetics on fever. for pretty. odd. jon was there so it slayed even more - that's why everything sucked ass after 2013 when brendon was the only one because he's not that smart or creative so didn't have ryan, spencer, jon, pete (he wrote a lot on vices) or dallon (thank you for the good songs on too weird) to lean on

Finally been able to sit down and reply to ao3 comments after getting back from holiday and someone commented on castling the king regarding an oversight I had in regards to Jon's story and it's driving me bonkers because the more I think about it the more it annoys me that this didn't occur to me.

Paring: Jon Snow x f!Reader
Summary: You arrive in Winterfell lending aid to House Stark but seeing Jon brings back lost feelings you both share.
Warnings: mentions of drinking, kissing, fluff.
Word count: 1.4k
Your heart pounded in your chest as you rode through the gates of Winterfell the familiarity of the high stone walls and the sight of Stark banners bringing back the memories of your childhood. You had, in the past, spent many years in Winterfell growing up with the Stark children. Your father became a good friend of Ned Stark; while fighting alongside each other during Robert's rebellion. Leading to many years spent in the castle.
You arrived in the courtyard of Winterfell, the cloak you’re wearing doing surprisingly little to suppress the cold winds of the North. You had been called as a bannerman of house Stark to lend aid and fight the white walkers beyond the wall. You look around, all the people of Winterfell seem to have solemn faces ‘it’s quieter than I remember’ you think to yourself while dismounting your horse stirrups rattling, the stable boy rushes over to take the reins from your gloved hands leading your horse away. Your men follow you, dismounting their horses, gathering their things and moving supplies, all of a sudden the yard is buzzing with movement.
“Y/n!” you turn at the sound of your name to see Sansa walking towards you, “lady Stark” you bow slightly she lets out a small laugh as she embraces you, “you mustn't call me that y/n” she smiles “well you are lady of the North are you not” you ask “that I am yes, but to you it will always be just Sansa” she states “very well than Sansa” you smile “take me to Lord Snow.”
The castle is darker than you remember, as Sansa leads you through the doors of the great hall, you catch sight of Jon, the young man you once remembered as a solemn and brooding child.
Walking past the large tables in the middle of the hall you pull off your gloves, you look up to see Jon sitting at the high table reading a letter “Jon” Sansa says he looks up, his face breaking into a warm smile when his eyes land on you. You can’t help but smile back. You haven’t seen Jon in a long time, not since before he left to join the Night’s Watch. “My lord,” you take a slight bow, he stands and begins to walk towards you not saying a word, his gaze lingering.
Finally he speaks “My lady”. He lets out a small laugh before wrapping his arms around you, you can feel the warmth radiating off of him even with the layers of fur between you, he lets go resting his hands on your shoulders before they move to cup your face.
“Look at you” he mutters, eyes raking across you he pulls away “I didn’t think you’d come.”
“I’m sworn to House Stark my lord” you reply “it is an honor to fight for your family.”
“My lord” Jon repeated “since when were you one to be so formal”? He teased.
You can’t help but smirk, while walking past him with your hands clasped behind your back making your way to the table running your fingers along the edge, the teasing tone in Jon’s voice luring out your own wit. “And here I thought that being declared King of the North automatically earned you the title of ‘my lord’.”
Jon chucked, a low rumble escaping his throat, “yes it does except, we grew up together there is no need for formality between us.”
“I suppose you're right” you agree, your voice lightening. “However don’t let that get to your head, a little formality never hurt anyone.”
Jon raises an eyebrow playfully. “Is that so? Then perhaps I should start using ‘my lady’ whenever I address you.”
You laugh “you can certainly try but, I can’t promise I won’t retaliate”
Jon shakes his head, a smile dancing on his lips.
A fortnight had passed since you'd first arrived back in Winterfell, and tonight you were dining with the Starks and their men in the great hall, enjoying the loud conversations and laughter ringing throughout the room. It had been a long while since you’d allowed yourself a good time. You spent the night laughing and socializing with the others. Not noticing the way Jon was looking at you.
As the talking and laughter slowly began to die, people began to retire to their chambers, you being one of them as the fatigue from the day's ride was finally wearing on you. Standing up making your way out to a long hallway lined with sconces providing a small amount of light as you pass various chambers while walking to your own.
Opening the door you’re greeted with warmth radiating from the fireplace, you walk to a small table in the corner of the room picking up a few letters that you had yet to open, before dropping them back down rubbing your temples knowing that the night would be full of endless reading.
Jon hadn’t put much thought into what he was about to do, maybe it was the wine or maybe it was just pure ignorance he thought to himself, as he was making his way through the dimly lit corridors. When he arrived at the door, his heart was pounding in his chest taking a deep breath before he raised his fist to leave a soft knock.
While on your 3rd letter of the night you hear a light knock at your door, getting up from your seat at the table curious as to who it could be. Unlatching the door expecting it to be Sansa you were startled to see Jon standing on the other side.
“Jon” you said surprised “it’s late”
For a moment he didn’t say anything, his gaze lingering on your face.
“Evening” he said “I hope I haven’t disturbed you”
“No, it’s alright” your eyes scanning his face for any indicator of what he was there for. Tilting your head slightly to one side. “Has something happened?” you asked
“No, no, may I come in?”
“Yes of course. Please come in.”
Moving aside Jon steps through, making his way to stand in front of the fireplace. He looks nervous, still thinking something had happened you ask once again.
“Jon” you pause, he looks up, his eyes finally meeting yours. The look on his face starting to worry you.
The silence hung like smoke in the air as you awaited his response.
He mumbles, moving one of his hands to run through his hair, turning back to face the fire watching the flames dance. You cautiously walk up behind him reaching to put a hand on his shoulder, he turns to face you leaning into your touch.
Long forgotten feelings wash over you.
“Jon, please tell me” you insist, your hand now resting at his jaw he leans further into your touch before covering your hand with his. You stayed like this for a short time relishing in the moment, the unspoken understanding filling the space between you. Removing his hand from yours to cup your jaw as he draws himself closer, his eyes searching yours for permission.
You quickly nod, before he closes the gap between you, lips brushing together. Your lips part slightly, letting his tongue slip inside. His hand glides to the nape of your neck, then moving to your waist, pressing your bodies together. You moan into the kiss, hands running through his hair while he trails gentle kisses leading from your jaw to your collarbone, small breaths escaping your lips.
Pulling away, his gaze meeting your own.
“You have no idea what you do to me” he whispers.
The look in his eyes was evidence enough revealing what he felt without uttering a word. Yet he continues to speak. Hands coming back to hold your face.
“I-” he pauses for a brief moment gathering his thoughts. “You are my every thought” He breathes. “The only person able to ground me, make me feel whole. Not a day goes by where I don’t think of you. How I wasted all those years believing I had no chance, only to be standing here right now. With you.”
Tears begin to swell in your eyes threatening to fall.
“You consume every part of me, body and soul.” He gently wipes away the tears that begin to fall. “You are everything to me.”
You smile at him, leaning into his touch.
“I love you.”
The words feel heavy.
He starts to speak afraid of your rejection, you cut him off colliding your lips together for a brief kiss before pulling away resting your forehead against his, shallow breathing filling the room.
“And I you.”
The words so lightly spoken, Jon wasn’t sure he heard them.
Leaning in to kiss you softly once more, running a hand through your hair, his eyes full of nothing but affection. “My lady.”

its my personal opinion that it will be arya that ends up killing dany and jon killing the king of the white walkers. a lot of reasons towards this idea is that d&d fliped around the ending that grrm showed them and the fact that arya has more plot and relevance with slavery and jon has more relevance with white walkers. also i believe jon will uploaded neds beliefs of sparing dany leaving it up to arya to actually killing her to protect her family and the north
The theory definitely has merit! Arya training with the Faceless Men and then assassinating Dxny when she sits the Iron Throne a-la-Maegor style is very compelling. Dxny apparently being killed by a blade of the same Iron Throne she had been running after her whole life is such smooth storytelling. It is something that we have foreshadowing and compelling evidence for as well. Not to mention Robert thinks of sending one of the Faceless Men as assassins to slay her in the first book. A Faceless Man ending the act to its true satisfaction is a well written storyline if I know one. Moreover, it would be such a rich conclusion to the story arc that Dxny has slowly started on since the end of AGoT and is more apparent since ASoS & ADWD.
However, I have been recently thinking that Dxny dying in a fire would also be interesting. It would form a parallel with the first book wherein she emerged from a fire, literally rebirthed with her dragons. She might trigger the wildfire in KL and die in it as a crazy twist to the adage “fire cannot hurt a Targaryen” which we all know is untrue. It also aligns well with her tragic antagonist status. She is someone who tries her best to solve a situation only to find herself in a sticky situation of the same making, or worse. So I believe that if she (accidentally, unknowingly, not knowing better, thinks is for the good) sets off the KL wildfire, that would be very in-character for her. Not only will the wildfire take down the Iron Throne with it (which will 100% not exist by the end of the series), it will also burn down Kings Landing, which also is foreshadowed to not survive the ending by way of getting burned down.
I don’t believe that Jon will leave it to Arya to kill Dxny in any capacity simply because he doesn’t have that authority over her. More than that, I don’t think Jon & Dxny’s arcs will intertwine as much as they did in the show or even enough that Jon will think it a personal duty to eradicate Dxny. Although, I do think that the show very obviously exchanged Arya and Jon and Bran’s endgame. It definitely makes more sense for Bran and Jon to be ones to defeat the Others - the Ice Threat- finally (though there is no Night King in the books, which is sad because I miss my frosty man :,( sigh anyway) and Arya to defeat the Fire Threat given her training and motivations. Idk what d&d were thinking, seriously.
But what can I say, some of my opinions are still crystalizing and shaping as I reread the books and interact with other meta.

Most anti lc!Jon people cite him being naturally suspicious/isolating to a fault as a leadership flaw which seems to hold up for marsh and the officers, however I'm on a reread of his dance arc and he's like...
Weirdly open about certain plans? In the scene where he sends Val to look for tormund, it mentions that Ed and Mully are both close enough to hear everything they talk about, as well as multiple unnamed sentries straight up watching them leave.
Val also mentions the baby switch THAT NO ONE COMMENTS ON implying that Ed and Mully already knew????
yes both great points, iirc it’s implied that melisandre knows about the baby switch too and i don’t think the men of the nw have any reason to suspect they’re switched and therefore don’t need an explantation. i don’t get that criticism either sometimes. i understand it in Feast for Crows when his friends are ragging on him for not spending time with them anymore and they’re right jon could communicate better with the people who have saved his life and been there for him when he felt more depressed than he ever had. but that’s more an emotional flaw rather than a political one.
"Once the free folk are settled in the Gift, they will become part of the realm," Jon pointed out. "These are desperate days, and like to grow more desperate. We have seen the face of our real foe, a dead white face with bright blue eyes. The free folk have seen that face as well. Stannis is not wrong in this. We must make common cause with the wildlings." - A Dance with Dragons - Jon III
he’s speaking to bowen marsh here and tho bowen goes on to disagree with him it’s no secret that jon is going to do it anyway and he just told him why. there are some things he keeps to himself, mance rayder chief among them, but what would have been gained from people knowing that? surely it just would have caused more chaos. and the loan from the iron bank, well iirc he didn’t have much time to share that info before all hell broke loose and even if he did, he is lord commander and is allowed and expected to make many decisions on his own especially regarding food and financing.
most importantly he’s more than clear about what the Real threat is.
"Winter is coming," Jon said at last, breaking the awkward silence, "and with it the white walkers. The Wall is where we stop them. The Wall was made to stop them … but the Wall must be manned. This discussion is at an end. We have much to do before the gate is opened. Tormund and his people will need to be fed and clothed and housed. Some are sick and will need nursing.” - A Dance with Dragons - Jon XI
this is the quote i chose but it’s not an isolated one. he’s never shutting up about these walkers of his. Old Nan would be so proud.
so does jon have trouble communicating? emotionally yeah. politically? not really, he could do a much better job of selling his point but he’s kind of a dickhead (affectionate) so he’s crisp and to the point but no, the night’s watch knows his reasons for wanting the wildings there, they just don’t like it. some of them for valid reasons might i add, they’re concerned about infighting and starvation, i understand them and am sympathetic but so is jon and that’s why he desperately wanted stannis’ men gone and a loan from braavos.

d. do you want to tell us about the history of panic at the disco. i feel like you want to do that.
YES I DO (small unreality cw for a few of the jokes i make in this)
so back in like 2005. this emo boy from suburban nevada named ryan ross and his childhood friend slash the only drummer he knew (spencer smith) decided to start a band together called pet salamander. they also got this other guy named brent wilson to play keyboard but brent is a bitch and they kicked him out after the first album so this is the first and last time you will hear me mention him. ryan was singing, playing guitar, and writing music, which was a lot of work for a depressed teenager in his first band ever, so they ended up trying to find someone else to either play guitar or sing, and end up putting out an ad in some newspaper or something. up turns this kid named brendon urie! he can do both. they end up just having him sing though, because ryan still wants to play guitar. it was also some time around this that they realized pet salamander was a stupid ass band name, so they changed it to panic! at the disco. and thus the most band of all time was born.
ryan, pretty much by himself, writes an album called a fever you can't sweat out, which takes heavy inspiration from chuck palahnuik (im totally spelling his name wrong but idc), moulin rouge, and ryan's own childhood living just outside las vegas. it toes the line between pop punk and cabaret goth, or more accurately pirouettes along the tightrope between them. it is a picturesque score of scandals, sins (not tragedies), classic literature, dark circus couture, and a troubled childhood. it still genuinely astounds me that this album was made by a bunch of teenagers. it is an absolute fucking masterpiece. panic! records a few demos, and then gets the bright idea that "hey, ryan's a huge fan of fall out boy, right? that pop punk band from chicago that's really popular right now? like, he's super obsessed with pete wentz's writing. and pete is really active on social media. what if we shot him a few demos?"
and what does peter lewis kingston wentz the motherfucking third, known lacker of common sense, do?
he makes an entire fucking record label just to sign panic!.
ma'am what.
pete decides to start decaydance records, a sublabel of fueled by ramen, and signs a bunch of his friends' bands, along with these random kids from nevada, because he thinks they have potential or whatever. panic! fully records afycso, and releases it on september 27th, 2005. it becomes a smash hit near immediately, and i write sins not tragedies remains to this day a staple of 2000's emo hits. and what, logically, do they do after this? well, first, they go on the nothing rhymes with circus tour, which i would have absolutely killed to get tickets to had i been, like, alive at the time. but after that they, of course, get this guy named jon walker to join the band as a bassist, take the exclamation point out of their name and retreat into the mountains to hotbox a cabin and write a classic rock album. of course. perfectly logical next move. ...look, they swore to shake it up and we swore to listen. this is on us.
some time in mid to late 2006, panic emerges from the mountains with an album called cricket and clover. after recording demos for pretty much the whole album, they realize, oh, we totally cannot release this. so they rework it into an album called pretty. odd., which is an absolute masterpiece. i don't understand why people don't like it. it's so fucking good. if pretty. odd. has 10000 fans i am one of them if pretty. odd. has 10 fans i am one of them if pretty. odd. has 1 fan it is me if pretty. odd. has no fans i am dead. i don't have as much eloquent stuff to say about p.o. as i do with afycso. i just really like it.
[bad wilbur soot impression] it was at this point that brendon decided to become a problem.
so ryan was struggling with a lot of mental health issues right? you would expect your bandmates, especially the one you trusted to sing the lyrics you expressed and processed a lot of those mental health issues with, to not make fun of you for that, right? you would think? brendon did not think. ever. that man has not had a thought in his life and i mean that as an insult. things get so bad eventually that panic splits in half, with ryan and jon splitting off to form a band called the young veins that released one album in 2010 and then broke up, and spencer and brendon being left with the record deal but being explicitly told by ryan to not use the name panic at the disco. which, technically, they didn't. they went back to panic! at the disco. but still. dick move, man.
panic! is still touring pretty. odd. at this point (late 2009), so they need some touring musicians, because they no longer have a bassist or a guitarist. so they hire. i believe ian crawford? but don't quote me on that. as a guitarist, and, more importantly, dallon weekes as a bassist. dallon becomes a full member of the band soon after, because they flat out don't have a bassist anymore, nor a songwriter, but dallon just so happens to have written music for a (very good) band called the brobecks since before panic! at the disco was even a twinkle in poor ryan's eye. justice for ryan ross. but dallon writes an album called vices & virtues, featuring a couple of songs (mostly bonus tracks) from our good friend pwentz, a song brendon wrote about his wife (the worst song on the album honestly), and like half a song left over that ryan wrote when he was still in panic!. which makes vices & virtues the only panic! album that has had every official panic! songwriter on it. four of them. what is wrong with this band. v&v is a fucking amazing album though. i love it so much.
after that, dallon gets to work on panic!'s fourth album, too weird to live, too rare to die!. his original draft is a fucking masterpiece, but unfortunately most of it never sees the light of day (as in, basically nothing minus all the boys, a demo of far too young to die, and the original lyrics to vegas lights) because brendon comes in and ruins the whole thing and turns it into a marketable alt pop album. as he does. justice for dallon weekes. justice for anyone who has ever interacted with brendon ever actually. twtltrtd is still an amazing album, don't get me wrong. just not as good as it would have been without brendon's meddling. i may be a little bitter.
dallon, inevitably, leaves the band, because not only has brendon been fucking up his writing, he's been harassing him, harassing his wife, and on top of it all, paying him so little he had to get a second job to support his family. spencer also leaves, for unclear reasons. so brendon's got three albums left on a record deal for a band that no longer exists. what does he decide to do? pretend the band still exists and is more than just him, of course. this band and its associates have a history of logical decision making and everything they have ever done was a good idea. of course. he releases an album called death of a bachelor in 2016, which was actually pretty good. you will come to see this is a fluke.
two years later, in 2018, brendon! at the disco releases their sixth album, pray for the wicked, which had like four good songs on it total. however, something much more important happened that year. see, something had been happening in the shadows of salt lake city. someone had been plotting. playing shows. a band that didn't exist had been popping up around, with a disturbingly long name. were they here from the past? were they, perhaps, back from the future? we'll never know. all we know is that the band consisted of dallon weekes, a man* who definitely had no connection to panic! at the disco, and ryan seaman, a man who definitely had no connection to falling in reverse. both of whom had dubious connections to the brobecks. and in 2018, they released their first single, a song called modern day cain.
THATS RIGHT THIS POST IS ABOUT I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME NOW BBY
iDKHOW ended up also releasing their first EP in 2018, called 1981 extended play. it is an absolute masterpiece. i did not care that it was 6 songs, i listened to those 6 songs on loop for months on end. they did not release a full album until 2020. so clearly those months turned into years at some point. i lost track. their first album, called RAZZMATAZZ, came out in october of 2020, after making everyone wait way too fucking long for a full album. you may recognize that album name. that is because it's my name. i am way too obsessed with this band. they haven't been around for very long, so they don't have much history for me to infodump yet, but i am very proud to say i was one of their first fans, and i'll be a fan until the day i die.
nowadays, jon's still releasing solo music (also we are tiktok mutuals), ryan is a hermit, dallon was never in panic! at the disco at all why am i mentioning him, and brendon released an album called viva las vengeance that bombed so hard he announced the formal disbandment of panic! at the disco last month. the evil is defeated. thanks for coming to the circus, everyone. you can go home now.

GRRM said “if a 12 year old has to conquer the world so be it”. And I say “if 13 year old Arya has to wield Dark Sister, so be it”. At 14 Lyanna was knocking men out of their horses. Now there’s this magical sword made for women and light weighted whose name perfectly fits Arya and people want to convince me she’ll be stuck in Winterfell during the Great War while Nymeria does all the fighting or that she’ll wield Needle which is no more than a toy and has more symbolic meaning than any usefulness. Nah, she’s gonna be out there and will wield Dark Sister. Jon already has his big bastard sword, he doesn’t need Visenya’s. Other than that it would only make sense for Dany to wield it but I think she’ll be fighting on top of her dragons.
I would like to have your certainty, but I have reasons to doubt what you say.
Arya has only a few months of sword training. And it's in a combat style that seems more suited for duels than melees.
Dark sister was never mentioned in the main books and we don't know where it is, so it's not mandatory for it to come up in the future.
I can't picture a scene where Arya convinces Jon that
deploying his 13-year-old sister alongside wildlings and men-at-arms is a good idea.
Finally Arya is an important character so I tend to expect the climax of her story to be more than killing off a couple of nameless white walkers.
And I would like that whatever her role will be it will make use of all the knowledge she learned and not just that of the first chapters. Of course this is just speculation but my best theory at the moment is this. Then obv I'm a fan of the character so if she ends up wielding a legendary sword I'd be the first to cheer.

If I had to read 1 book about every President from Nixon to Trump (or even Biden), which should I read?
•RICHARD NIXON
Nixon is a really tough one because there are so many great biographies about Nixon, as well as books that either focus specifically on his Presidency -- like President Nixon: Alone in the White House by Richard Reeves (BOOK | KINDLE) -- or on the overall political climate of his era, like Rick Perlstein's books, particularly Nixonland: The Rise of a President and the Fracturing of America (BOOK | KINDLE) and The Invisible Bridge: The Fall of Nixon and the Rise of Reagan (BOOK | KINDLE).
But I'm going to cheat and pick the three-volume series by Stephen Ambrose: •Nixon: The Education of a Politician, 1913-1962 (BOOK | KINDLE) •Nixon: The Triumph of a Politician, 1962-1972 (BOOK | KINDLE) •Nixon: Ruin and Recovery, 1973-1990 (BOOK | KINDLE)
•GERALD FORD
It hasn't been released yet, but you'll have to take my word that nothing comes close to Richard Norton Smith's forthcoming book, An Ordinary Man: The Surprising Life and Historic Presidency of Gerald R. Ford (BOOK | KINDLE). If you can't wait until April, I'd suggest checking out Barry Werth's 31 Days: Gerald Ford, the Nixon Pardon and a Government in Crisis (BOOK | KINDLE). It's not a full-fledged biography, but it's a captivating look at Ford' first month in the White House following the resignation of President Nixon. Donald Rumsfeld's When the Center Held: Gerald Ford and the Rescue of the American Presidency (BOOK | KINDLE) also deserves an honorable mention.
•JIMMY CARTER
His Very Best: Jimmy Carter, A Life by Jonathan Alter (BOOK | KINDLE)
•RONALD REAGAN
Edmund Morris’s Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan (BOOK | KINDLE) is very divisive because of the controversial storytelling technique that Morris used to structure the biography, but I think the extent of his research and depth of detail overpowers any criticism about his writing choices. For those who would prefer a more traditional single-volume biography, you can’t go wrong with Reagan: The Life by H.W. Brands (BOOK | KINDLE).
•GEORGE H.W. BUSH
I can say, without any hesitation, that Jon Meacham’s Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush (BOOK | KINDLE) is the best, single-volume biography ever written about any American President. In fact, in my opinion, it might be the best, single-volume biography ever written about anybody anywhere at any time.
•BILL CLINTON
I don’t think that anyone has written what I would consider the definitive overall biography of Bill Clinton’s life and Presidency yet. The Survivor: Bill Clinton in the White House by John F. Harris (BOOK | KINDLE) is excellent but focused, obviously, just on Clinton’s Presidency. I look forward to someone eventually writing THE biography of Bill Clinton.
•GEORGE W. BUSH
Much like President #42, I think we’re still waiting for the definitive, all-encompassing biography of 43. There are two excellent books about his years in the White House that I strongly recommend: Robert Draper’s Dead Certain: The Presidency of George W. Bush (BOOK | KINDLE), and Days of Fire: Bush and Cheney in the White House (BOOK | KINDLE) by Peter Baker, who has long been one of my favorite reporters about the modern Presidency.
•BARACK OBAMA
Like his two immediate predecessors, we’re still waiting for a complete biography about Obama’s entire life and political career. But David J. Garrow’s Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama (BOOK | KINDLE) comes closest. It is meticulously researched and incredibly detailed -- the book is nearly 1,500 pages long and only takes us up through Obama’s election as President in 2008. But it is undoubtedly the definitive book about Obama’s early life and political rise -- there’s nothing else that comes even close.
•DONALD TRUMP
Unlike Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama, there is a full-fledged biography of Donald Trump that encompasses his life as well as his Presidency. Maggie Haberman worked on Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America (BOOK | KINDLE) during her years of reporting on Trump and published her biography of him last fall. Haberman has long been one of the best informed and most relentless reporters about Trump for much of the last decade, so her book is as close to definitive as one can get about a recent President.
•JOE BIDEN
It’s definitely too early for any complete biography about Biden so far. If you’re looking for something about him, I’d suggest Chris Whipple’s brand-new book, The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House (BOOK | KINDLE). And Gabriel Debenedetti’s The Long Alliance: The Imperfect Union of Joe Biden and Barack Obama (BOOK | KINDLE) is a revealing look at their relationship from their brief time serving together in the Senate to the 2008 campaign where they started as opponents and then running mates, through their partnership in the Obama Administration and up to Biden’s 2020 victory and early days in the White House.

The last scene of Jon going to Wall is shown somewhat similar to Waymar going to Wall in first season. Were the makers trying to make parallels between Jon and Waymar? Books has already mention about the similarities between both.
Hello!
I'm assuming you're referring to this image (post):
Tumblr media
I understand seeing a post like that, and getting a bit worked up because of the circular nature of it, but if you take a second to think about it, you'll realize it doesn't adhere to established canon at all.
We meet Waymar, Will, and Gared nine days into their ranging. They stumble upon an abandoned wildling camp, only to become encircled by the Others. Waymar heroically fights a White Walker, but tragically loses an eye, dies, and is resurrected as a wight. Presumably, he's still out there fighting alongside the army of the dead.
Apart from both of them joining the Night's Watch, sharing similar physical traits, losing their eyes, and dying, there aren't any further notable parallels that can be drawn between Jon and Waymar. What happens after their deaths takes their stories in completely different directions.
The Waymar scene above doesn't exist in the books. It's not telling us anything about Jon's future.
They did these stupid callbacks to earlier scenes all the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First season, last season.
Small problem, there is no mention of the Others creating patterns with dead bodies in the books. That is a creation of the show that went absolutely nowhere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First season, last season.
Obviously what I'm about to say is speculative, but there are reasonable conclusions we can draw from the books.
We know the previous Long Night ended without dragons or Targaryens. We know the extreme climate renders her dragons and Dothraki army useless. We know the logistical challenges, resource demands, and time needed to transport her army to Winterfell in winter are staggering. We know it defies logic to have one existential threat to Westeros pitted against another existential threat to the realm. We know Bran and the children of the forest are at the heart of this conflict.
All of these factors indicate that the scene above is not real.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Earlier season, last season.
You're going to have to trust me when I say that Jon and Daenerys embarking on a romantic dragon ride to a secluded waterfall, all while the threat of the Others looms over Winterfell, was purely fictional and a creation of the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Earlier season, last season.
Here's the thing: when Ygritte was dying, Jon never embraced her like this. He remained remarkably composed and restrained during her passing. The above isn't real.
They genuinely believed that incorporating callbacks to earlier scenes qualified as logical, coherent, pre-planned storytelling, but in reality, it didn't.
Personally, I love seeing images from the show like the one above featuring Waymer and Jon. It's more evidence that ending was David & Dan.

quotes from a fan's review of the young veins' show in michigan (8 april 2010)
At one point before Dangerous Blues was played Ryan mentioned how its a good song for waltzing to and he suggested everyone go and hold the hand of the girl they've been looking at all night and Jon was kinda like lol wut and then he was like "It's called a waltz".
JON SMELLS AMAZINGLY GOOD, LIKE REALLY. IDC HOW CREEPY THAT SOUNDS.
I got hugs from Jon and he gives the best hugs and he's just so nice. He couldn't hear me well because Foxy was playing so he kept leaning close and his hair was brushing my face and then he'd lean close to me to talk and really I was *_______* on the inside most the time.
I asked Jon if he hung out with Tom at SXSW and he said he did and that he also got to see Tom in New York and I told him I was glad and he was like "I'm glad too :D".
Tom here is Tom Conrad, who was in 504 Plan with Jon and also played guitar in The Academy Is... from 2004-2006. Here is a link for a prettyoddfever post that goes more in depth!
And at one point I had asked him where Ryan was and he was like :O "I thought he already came down." and I told him to text him and he was like "You should text him." Offer me the # next time Jon and I will! also I think he had said that Ryan ignores his texts.
And emmy126 had a pack of starbursts and she was holding them and Jon was taking them and then he was like "oh were you offering?" and he kept eating them and was like "Keep these away from me. I have a sweet-tooth and I haven't had dinner yet."
We had to take my picture with him a bunch of times because my camera was fail and he didn't like his eyes in one and he was like "well you can just photoshop my eyes right, you know?" No, I am not that skilled Jon Walker. He also asked me what was wrong with my camera because the pictures kept file erroring.
I had asked him how often he gets asked about Brendon and Spencer and he was like "five or six times every show." and I said something along the lines of none of it mattering because everyone was happier and as long as they're happy we should be and that's all that matters and he said that he does miss it. he said. "I miss it. I miss it everyday."
Basically Jon Walker is nothing short of amazing perfection, he gives good hugs and he smells fantastic.
Ryan didn't come around for a long, long time. Right before the venue started kicking everyone out. Ryan was strange imo (possibly drunk) but he was still a sweetheart.
We took a picture together and [Ryan] was like "I blinked. I think I blinked." and we looked and sure enough his eyes were closed so we took another and he made some kind of weird face and like some girl had told him to make a game face and he didn't know what it was. And then he went to pull away from me and he got his sharpie stuck in my hair and he was like "ooh I caught you" and he was trying to unhook it and was like "we're messes."

Ch 33 - The North Remembers
Tumblr media
Part 34
Fire OF A Stark
@dragonixfrye
Joanna flapped her large wings with me riding onto her back. My hair was completely loose except for a few strands clipped back with a golden hair clip that used to belong to Jaime’s mother. The wind blows through my hair soaring over the north grounds. Today Sansa and Jon were calling the Wildings Vale and the Northern houses. Since the North men didn't come to our call we wanted to know why. Looking down at the snowfall ground below I tugged her reins sending my dragon to land in the open courtyard seeing Jaime was waiting for me to come back. He had his arms tightly wrapped around himself trying to keep warm. Dismounting my dragon she sent him a low noise when I walked up. "Are you adjusting any better to this climate, Jaime?”
“I would like to say yes. But unfortunately no…the North still hates me.” He shivered, gripping his black fur cloak tightly around him. There was fallen snow sticking in his short cut blonde hair and his beard was growing thicker that I was still getting used to.
Resting my hands on his chest tugging him inside the horse stables so the wind wasn’t as harsh on him. Even though I had moved from the South so suddenly then we went back to the North. I was still used to the climate and how the weather worked. “Well I am sorry about that. I will say thought that I am grateful that you chose me and Rhaenyra over your sister. I know how much you loved her.”
“I did until I met you. Now I can’t see my life without you and our daughter.” He explained leaning down, kissing me softly. Moving my hands up onto his shoulders I leaned up on my toes until he bent down since I was shorter. “Sansa is watching Rhae before the lords arrive do maybe we should do something with our time alone together hmm."
I smirked knowing where he was going with this. Wrapping my arms around his neck I deepened the kiss we had moments ago. "Oh is that right, Lion."
“It is my little dragon.” He hummed tugging me closer to his chest kissing me passionately. His left hand moved up into my hair twisting my locks between his fingers, getting me to moan into the kiss. Wrapping my arms around his neck once more I leaned closer not hearing footsteps approaching.
“Cadence. Jaime, the lords are here. And I need to speak with my sister for a moment alone.” Jon’s voice caused us to break apart seeing him avoiding to meet our gaze and instead looking at his snow covered boots.
Breaking away from my husband I cleared my throat walking up to my brother. “Uh sure. We can talk Jon.”
“I’ll go check on Rhae.” Jaime nodded his head leaving towards one of the castle entrances leaving us alone to talk. Jon and I headed into one of the empty hallways of the castle.
Running my hands over my tunic I slumped my shoulders looking in my brother’s eyes that were black. Some of his hair was falling out of his bun. “So I got to thinking about what the lords might say about not fighting alongside us. And you mentioned to Sansa in one of your letters that you have the crown of a past dragon queen.”
“Yes I do. But I don’t understand what that has to do with this conversation Jon.” I point out shrugging my shoulders at my brother.
Jon gestures with his hands making his sword sway when he takes a step closer. “Years ago the realm loved the Targaryens. You are the last known living one. They will back you without question and we will need everyone when the army of the dead comes for us all.”
“I’m sorry did you just say army of the dead. Jon, what are you talking about and how do you think me telling who I am will accomplish anything?” I questioned thinking that he was starting to lose it. I didn’t know the things that he saw when he was at the wall but even I had limits to the things I would believe.
He gently grabbed my shoulders making me finally look him in the eye deeply. “I saw an entire army. The white walkers are real, Cadence. I know it sounds crazy but they are. And they don’t tire. They can only be killed in two ways. They will come for us now that the wall has been destroyed.”
“Jon…I…how does mean being a Targaryen help against something like that?” I shook my head still not understanding where his head was at.
He sighed heavily. “Because they loved the dragon family. If anyone can bring the houses together to fight an enemy together I have hope that it is you. Please Cadence. Please try for me.”
Nodding my head I sucked in a sharp breath leaving him to go into my chambers before we were supposed to meet with the lords. Slipping on some new clothes I shrugged my fur cloak on that had Lannister and Stark colors. Glancing over my shoulder I sighed slowly picking up the golden dragon crown and holding it in my hands. “I hope you're right about this Jon.” Sitting it gently on my head looking myself over in the mirror I had to admit that it looked rather good on my head like it was always supposed to be there,
Walking into the room with the large fireplace seeing Jon and Sans with the wildling leader all standing in front of the table. Jaime glanced in my direction parting his lips he was holding little Rhaenyra in his arms. Slowly walking forward I took our daughter from his arms feeling all eyes on me from the North men. “That’s the Lannister wife…how does she have a dragon grown….she has a child.” Each of them muttered under their breaths.
Sitting down with Jaime standing beside me he leans down whispering in my ear with a slight smirk in his tone. “The crown looks rather good on you, Lynesse.”
I sent him a smile before one of the Northern lords scoffed towards the wilding. “You can't expect Knights of the Vale to side with wildling invaders.”
The wildling leader scoffs back. “We didn't invade. We were invited.”
“The free folk, the northerners, and the Knights of the Vale fought bravely, fought together, and we won. My father used to say we find our true friends on the battlefield. The Boltons are defeated. The war is over.” Jon declared, trying to make them all understand.
But the lords of the North are too stubborn to give in. “Winter has come. If the maesters are right, it'll be the coldest one in a thousand years. We should ride home and wait out the coming storms.”
“The war is not over. And I promise you, friend, the true enemy won't wait out the storm. He brings the storm.” Jon pleaded, hearing them all muttering under their breaths.
Suddenly there was a little girl named Lyanna that stood up for house Mormont. She could only be the age of teen or maybe Arya’s age from the looks of it. But she spoke with a fiery spirit reminding me a lot of myself. “Your son was butchered at the Red Wedding, Lord Manderly, but you refused the call. You swore allegiance to House Stark, Lord Glover, but in their hour of greatest need, you refused the call. And you, Lord Cerwyn, your father was skinned alive by Ramsay Bolton. Still you refused the call.” She turned to each of the lords and declared them unfaithful to the cause and vow that they had sworn. “But House Mormont remembers The North remembers. We know no king but the King in the North whose name is Stark. I don't care if he's a bastard. Ned Stark's blood runs through his veins. He's my king from this day until his last day.”
“Lady Mormont speaks harshly and truly. My son died for Robb Stark, the Young Wolf. I didn't think we'd find another king in my lifetime. I didn't commit my men to your cause 'cause I didn't want more Manderlys dying for nothing. But I was wrong. Jon Snow avenged the Red Wedding. He is the white wolf. The King in the North.” One of the lords who first spoke about the wilding admitted defeat.
“There's nothing to forgive, my lord. There will be more fights to come. “ Jon replied, seeing that Sansa was staring at him.
Another lord drew his sword in the air. “House Glover will stand behind House Stark as we have for a thousand years. And I will stand behind Jon Snow... the King in the North!“
Lord Manderly looked in my direction where I knew he remembered what my brother Robb once said. “I did not fight beside you on the field and I will regret that until my dying day. A man can only admit when he was wrong and ask forgiveness….” He paused drawing his sword from his hip pointing it directly at me. “Your brother Robb said that you would always be a Stark no matter what happens. Do you believe that there is a good reason we should fight alongside him and a Lannister?”
“Sansa, would you mind?” I asked handing her niece over to her so I could get to my feet and not worry about dropping her. Clearing my throat the crown felt much heavier than the moment I put it on my head. “I know that the North and South have never been allies in the past. But in my experience the Lannister’s and the Stark’s rather I should say Taragaryen’s can work together.”
“How do we know that you aren’t just lying because that is what the lion wanted you to say. If I remember right he used to be a prisoner in your brother’s camp-“ I cut the lord off.
“Until I set him free in order to try and protect my sisters. But that was in the past. The truth is now what matters in the future.” Clutching my hands into fists at my sides I sighed, shifting my gaze around the room at all the different lords. “The truth here is that I am half Stark and half Taragayrn. I am the daughter of Rhaegar Taragaryn and Elia Martell. So you can trust my word when I say that Jaime of House Lannister is loyal to me and in the name of our daughter Rhaenyra Lannister.”
Lady Mormont straightened her back sending me a proud smile while she spoke towards me. “I know what we should call you than , Lady Cadence. If we declare Jon Snow as the King in the North than we have no choice but to declare you the Dragon Queen of the North!”
“Thank you, Lady Mormont. Although I will reveal that my true born name is Lynesse Targaryen.” Shortly after I said that the entire room of lords drew their sword declaring the titles they had just given me and Jon. Jaime came to stand beside me intertwining his hand with mine, smiling down at me. Lifting my head up I had to admit that for once it felt good to not have such a weighted secret on my shoulders anymore.
Comments really appreciated ❤️

Way I see it Bran will be the only one forgiving of Sansa when her snitching becomes known, he is a huge sweetheart. Can't see Jon or Arya being very understanding. Rickon is impossible to predict since he is so young and who knows how he has changed.
And if the rest of the North finds out Sansa will be "persona non-grata" for the rest of her life.
Honestly, the only character who I can see having issues with Sansa for her snitching to Cersei from a narrative/plot point, story telling aspect is Arya, because it personally affected her. Arya's entire trajectory changes once Sansa tattles about Ned's plans to get the girls out of KL to Cersei.
[There's also Jeyne Poole of course, however, GRRM treats her as a tertiary character, there to prop up and advance the stories of other main/secondary characters. Once she gets to Braavos and possibly meets Arya, I doubt we will be seeing much more of her. Hopefully she manages to have a happier life in Essos/Braavos, far away from all the pain and trauma Westeros has inflicted on her young life]
Just my opinion of course, but I don't see there being any major interaction with Jon/Bran/Dany - the characters with most connection to the threat of the Others from beyond the Wall - and Sansa in the books.
Sansa was mainly created as a foil to Arya, to build up Arya's character and that's where we are going to get the resolution of what happened in book one, just as getting Robb's decree is going to resolve all the conflict and angst Jon Snow has peppered all over his arc about being a bastard while Robb gets to be King and Lord of Winterfell.
I think Arya Stark will lead her people to safety beyond the neck as the North gets overwhelmed by the White Walkers/Others/Army of the Dead (hints/foreshadowing being her direwolf being named after Queen Nymeria). By which time Sansa has hopefully wrestled control of the Vale in some manner from Littlefinger. The sisters then meet when the refugees desperately need food and Arya goes to parlay with the Lady of the Vale.
It would be interesting to see them duke it out and resolve those 'deep issues' that GRRM mentioned, possibly including Sansa's betrayal of her family to the Lannisters. Would be certainly interesting to see a more confident, older Arya interact with what is hopefully a more mature Sansa who is able to see beyond skin deep appearances to the person beneath.
