rambling about fengqing
something about mu qing and feng xin seeing hua cheng and xie lian happy together and feeling as if they’re seeing their failure personified because they were never devoted enough in the end
something about mu qing’s lasting regret being not so much about the wrongs he’s done to xie lian (leaving him, not standing up for him, etc) so much as about the way he’s spent his whole life pushing everyone away
something about mu qing realizing that he has spent 800 years with so little to show for it beyond his achievements as a god…but personally, all was lost with the death of his mother…until xie lian ascends again, but well, though they can be friends now, xie lian has a life separate from him now
and then something about how feng xin begins to give mu qing the benefit of the doubt. at first for xie lian’s sake, he’ll try to be his friend. but this person actually isn’t so bad. in fact, isn’t this the person that can understand him best in this world.
feng xin showing mu qing kindness, allowing mq to realize that maybe he hasn’t ruined everything for himself. realizing that feng xin isn’t actually so much of an idiot. letting his defenses fall away bit by bit.
the realization that even after 800 years, people are capable of change. feng xin is capable of considering mu qing in a totally different light. mu qing is capable of forgiving himself and letting himself be vulnerable.
mu qing finding one day that he’s in love and it’s terrifying because feng xin hates him still, right? he’s just being nice for xie lian’s sake.
feng xin not having any qualms about loving mu qing. at first, he’s surprised himself, but he considers how happy he is these days with him.
feng xin and mu qing understanding each other better than anyone else and falling in love because of it!! growing independently and together at the same time!!
not instant love, not 800 years of pining, but slow, patient changes that lead to a deep trust and affection and understanding between the two that they both thought was impossible just a few years ago.

can we please get more context on könig and his cock cage, i’m going feral at the thought of maus putting him in one
Ahem.
So first of all this is well into their relationship. I talked last night about how Maus is the one to introduce König to some naughtier stuff, and I think König being the switch he is would be fascinated by the idea of a cock cage.
He and Maus would probably start is slow, just for an evening while she teases him and then rewards him by unlocking it. He gets off on it later, the idea his little Maus holds such power over him, and he shows her exactly how excited he is in bed later.
They start doing it on longer periods, always careful to only do it on base and with precautions, but as König gets more comfortable he keeps asking for more, and soon it ends up with him being caged on a mission.
Maus jokes about how she's muzzling him, but you can tell she's nervous. Tells him again and again where the backup key is in her room, that she somehow she gets left behind and he needs to return without her-
He hushes her, reaffirms he'll never let anything happen to her, and it's enough to settle them both.
Then when they do get back König is splattered in red, wild eyes, primal, feral, and Maus can't get the cage off fast enough.
"Unmuzzle me." He tells her, voice grinding deep in his chest even though it's meant to be a joke, his veins singing with the aftermath of violence. "Unmuzzle your beast, Maus."

what do you think the resulting chapter 2 would be like if you kill the princess without the knife? Like you just strangle her or snap her neck. Will she be small and scared? will she be bitter and mad?
Ooh, this is interesting. I think there are a few options, but two main one's I can come up with
Something like 'The Maiden' a delicate princess like the Damsel except in this route you're the monster, not the hero.
This would probably come about if you just attacked her out of the gate, killed her brutally but easily (like how one would get the spectre) and then find out about the narrators idea of a 'reward' and come to the conclusion you just slaughtered an innocent princess, not a world ending threat.
She'd probably be harmless a la the Damsel but without any of the blind devotion. Scared and Helpless and really hard to save because she doesn't want you near her. It isn't often you really have the upper hand against her, but here she's weak, and probably wouldn't be able to kill you unless you let her. A nice, sweet innocent princess scared of the horrible monster here to kill her. You'd try and make it up to her, wouldn't you?
She'd be very small and maybe fragile? Like she's made of glass. If you try and get her hand out of the cuff it just snaps right off. There might be a key to her cuff hidden somewhere in the room if you look hard enough. Her room could be claustrophobic, but with some little hidy holes that only she is small enough to crawl into, which she will if you frighten her (very very easy to do)
I think the routes ending would either be getting her out of there by regaining her trust, ending up trapped in the basement like in the Witch because you're a monster and you can't be trusted, or killing her again and getting some sort of chapter 3, maybe where she's hiding from you in a now very dark basement with an even smaller princess. If you did let her kill you she might trust you a little more, maybe an alternate route to the Thorn, or some weird Chapter 3 Damsel esq character.
The voice you'd get would probably feel really super bad about this whole thing. Maybe something like The Guilty or maybe The Naive (god I am bad at names, why am I giving them names) if you go down the 'we were too trusting of the Narrator' route. She would make for a gentle heart.
The other main option I have would be something like 'The Avenger'
This option would be if you scrapped with her. Maybe you spoke with her for a while before deciding to kill her, but instead of grabbing the knife you just go for the throat. She fights back, but you had the element of surprise (she was not expecting you to try to rip out her throat, you barbarian) and get her down. She probably gets in a few good hits, goes all Beast on you, maybe even gets you too, but she's dead now.
This stops you from thinking she's entirely helpless, she can hold her own, but she only went after you after you attacked her. She's not going to let you get her again, you beast. She's out to get revenge for what you did and she isn't going to be fooled by any of your pretty lies this time. She's hurt and angry and more than willing to kill you.
She's more human than most of the other actively out to kill you because honestly she's kind of right to. She's probably very ruffled, maybe with a bloodied bandage or something around her neck from where you tore it out, and a few bruises or self defence wounds. Her basement would be horrible, more like a torture chamber than a prison cell, maybe with a few weapons for the two of you to go at each other with if you can grab them (sword fight with a princess but it's a hacksaw against a giant pare of shears?).
You'd probably have to trick her into leaving the basement because she doesn't care about leaving in that moment she cares about getting you back. If you killed her again, you'd probably getting the Cold and a very gorey route where you get trapped in a cycle of killing her, and her, the Hero hates this please help him. Her killing you starts one of the cycles potentially. Whatever voice you have says that she doesn't do that. You're the one who hurts her, and kind of forces you into killing each other over and over in a decidedly less sexy and fun way than the Stubborn and Advesary. You're kind of the worst here, not gonna lie.
I think the Voice for the one would be something like the Domineering or the Sadist, playing into the fact you did that with your bare hands, you did not have to do that with your bare hands. You'd probably have to commit to doing it, too. If you let her kill you without killing her or if you ran to get the knife you would have gotten the Witch or the Beast.
Those are only a few ideas tho (:

!slight spoilers for Hilda S3!
so some ideas of what the main trio's jobs/major would be when their older i guess
hilda:
biologist, would take a monster biology class in collage and re - write the entire curriculum after the professor started out the troll unit with basically: don't go near them, they dangerous af
after collage, she becomes an adventure and people call her to be the halfway point when dealing with creatures
wherever she's in at the moment she goes into classrooms to teach the kids about the creatures of the world she's seen?
frida:
continues her witch studies, becomes a writer (works with hilda to re - write books on trolls?)
or teaches 8th grade/year 9
david:
entomologist. seeing how he now reacts to bugs in S3, I think it might be fun for him to do that
alternatively, he's ether a producer for light rock bands, or he plays light rock. side job for studying bugs?

sans swears he saw another version of himself in the woods. papyrus takes him to new home to 'see undernet friends' but it turns out to be a therapy consultation. they're all convinced that he's seeing things and might have developed schizophrenia somehow.
sans keeps insisting there's nothing wrong with him but is unable to do anything. eventually he is tired of being treated like someone dangerous and teleports out.
the local guard are put on alert including other sectors for the runaway skeleton
he tries to hide with alphys. she agrees to let him stay in the lab with the amalgamates.
but then he sees more versions of himself again and confronts them.

Actually, I am not done talking about Kid and Killer yet, so here is my headcanon for their backstory. Basically, in my mind Killer originally came from a relatively wealthy family, at least wealthy for their island - he didn't have the best home life, so he spent a lot of his days out and about, avoiding going home at all costs. It was during one of these trips where he met Kid for the first time.
Kid mistook Killer for another street boy and they sooner or later became friends [at one point Kid proudly showed Killer his "home" that he had found for himself on the scrap yard he grew up in. And Killer tried really hard, not to think about his own bed at home]
Kid, also, made it very clear that he did not care for wealthy people and Killer, therefore, wasn't sure if he could and should tell Kid that he was a member of a relatively wealthy family.
A while later Kid got hurt while they were in town and Killer, not sure what to do, made sure that the coast was clear and took him to his house [another scene I can't help but think of is Kid sitting on a kitchen worktop, swinging his legs, more or less unbothered, while Killer is trying to apply band-aids to some cuts and scrapes etc.]
After a while, Kid asked Killer how he got them in here, and Killer claimed that he was the cook's son... there is a lot that happens later that I haven't thought about in detail yet. But basically it goes:
At one point, Kid spots Killer with his parents in town and refuses to talk to him for a while. They reconcile.
Killers parents have the Jiki Jiki no Mi in a display case - it is later eaten by Kid in an attempt to safe Killer from his own father [the man ends up dying and is may or may not the first person Kid kills]
After that Killer runs away and truly starts living with Kid and it goes on like that.

So here's a Star Wars idea I'd love to see:
A book following Bastila Shan from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. There's so much to touch on. Flesh out her personality. Show us a bit of her mom giving her up to the Jedi at a young age- her point of view on it since she didn't want to go. Her life with the Jedi as they mold her into their star student, especially while Revan is leading the Republic during the Mandalorian Wars. Her point of view listening to the Jedi telling others that Revan is wrong, but also the Jedi going to join Revan's cause. Bastila seeing the Jedi being split yet too young to join.
Then her gaining her Battle Meditation skills, and being prepped to join the Jedi strike team going to take down their fallen hero Darth Revan. Her sudden choice to preserve the flicker of life within Revan. Did she hesitate? What was her point of view seeing him rescue her on Taris? What was it like having to travel in close quarters with him to find the Star Maps? Was she feeling the darkness through their connection more over time? Did it eat away at her? Show us her warming up Revan. Losing her father. How often does she look at Revan and see flashes of him as a Jedi? As a Sith? How was her relationship with the crew? What inspired her to jump in and take on Darth Malak alone, letting Revan and Carth escape? What was it like when she finally turned to the Dark Side and had had enough of the Jedi's hypocrisy? Give us more on the point of view from Dark Side Bastila. That final battle on the Star Forge, with the Star Forge re-energizing her. Do her eyes ever go Sith-yellow? How far into the Dark Side was she really? How did the Ebon Hawk crew receive her after she was redeemed? What did she do after Revan left? (We can always un-do the events of the Revan book).

Honestly if there is a FNAF movie sequel I hope they don’t focus too much on FNAF 2.
Don't get me wrong I like FNAF 2. It's just if we only get 3 movies (since Matthew Lillard signed for 3 movies according to the director AMA) I would prefer that they cover as much as possible from FNAF 1 through Pizzeria Sim. And I'm not sure they could do that if they focus a whole movie on FNAF 2.

There are models for the proposed terraforming of Mars which involve the use of lichens and similar organisms to transform the soil and atmosphere. There's something fascinating about entire strains of living things reproducing and dying for the sake of humanity's own propagation. This is the reduction of entire species of life to a sort of instrumentalism, and there is a horror to that.
There is a (primarily but not exclusively american) cultural cohort who I will call for the purposes of this list the astro-futurists. They are strong proponents of space colonization, frequently for the purposes of building humanity's resilience against supposed "x-risks", such as asteroid strikes or sapient computers that we are unable to control. Even if Earth dies, humanity will live on on martian soil and around the stars of Alpha Centauri!
There is a certain type of high school 'nihilist' who has no philosophical groundings for his works, but has a primitive understanding of Darwinism, and so concludes that the purpose of all life is to reproduce. In the most base sense, he is correct; all extant life is shaped by the need to pass on its genetic material. Most people would say this is reductive, however, and they are correct too.
The lichen would not be the first thing humanity has bent to specific purposes like that. Billions of chickens are kept in factory farms for the sake of meat and egg production, and so their lives are similarly reduced to a singular purpose in the service of humanity. In the reductive eyes of the high schooler, who views procreation as the highest virtue of life, humanity has done these chickens a great favour! While disease and predators might threaten populations of junglefowl in the wild, the structure of the farm protects the chickens from predators, and judicious cullings ensure that some part of the population will always be resilient against disease. Even as humanity kills the chickens for their meat, we ensure that there will always be another chicken.
The chicken is, therefore, the immortal junglefowl. Bar a vast reorganization of human civilization, the domestic chicken will last as long as humanity does. The genes which distinguish them from their wild relatives will propagate forever, just as the lichens humanity plants in the martian soil will have a monopoly on that soil, free of the rival strains of lichen which populate the earth. No one, however, looks at a factory farm and says "How charitable of humanity to make these birds immortal!" Why is this?
The most existentially concerned of the astro-futurists might consider the cultural and social development of space travel, like their more idealistic peers, but ultimately their prerogative is the survival of humanity against any threat which might render Earth uninhabitable. Some have criticized these efforts as a new form of colonialism to further enrich the global north, and note that the countries most capable of creating space colonies are those mostly strongly integrated into the capitalist system. The first flag on Mars will in all likelihood be that of the United States, or that of whichever ascendant capitalist power who succeeds them.
There are two problems with the existential programme of the astro-futurists, beyond the ways in which it unduly advantages the global north. The first is that Mars, and indeed much of space, is a terrible home for humans. Those who live there will suffer from radiation, and poisonous dust, and will likely reside in cramped underground dwellings. The lower gravity will cause their bones and flesh to atrophy, and should they have children on Mars, there is a good chance their young will never return to the home of their parents, lest Earth's gravity crush their feeble lungs and hearts. These lives will be bold and novel, entirely distinct from those of all humans before them, but they may not be enviable.
The second problem is that, even assuming that Mars somehow becomes wholly self-sufficient of Earth, in the event that Earth is destroyed, Mars will not save humanity. A narrow slice of the cultures of the global north will be salvaged by the Martians, perhaps. English will still be spoken, but the hundreds of languages of Africa will likely perish. Recorded music will survive, but the little regional songs no one thought to record will not. This is the survival of humans, not of humanity.
The notion of 'memes' is sometimes attributed to Richard Dawkins, a man with a complicated legacy not worth discussing. I have heard rumour that the idea originates from somewhere else, however. If one takes the traditional formation of memes to be true, then astro-futurism can be considered a sort of meme or collection there, as can its more existentially-concerned strains. If we settle Mars to survive the loss of Earth, then perhaps humanity will die and this meme will continue to propagate. What remains will become another example of the instrumentalization of life, with a vast complexity of experiences reduced, ultimately, to the ability to serve the propagation of others.

Ideas for an A Song of Ice and Fire game
This would be hard to pull off as its own thing and theres already some good mods for other games that can do this well. But I do think that a game about this series would be amazing. My first idea is to cut down on scope, limit players to Westeros mostly. Let them play as ANY of the houses in Westeros. Even the most minor. Stuff like Essos can be added on later as to make the game not take even longer to make, like a 40$ DLC pack or something? So then, you start the game by deciding an Era of Westerosi history to pick, from the Start all the way up to where the Books currently are. You then look at the map and find which house you want to chose, everything will be present. This means you can play as extinct houses if you so choose. This would then put you into the position of the Lord of that house. And then the gameplay would go like this: You, as the Lord will try and keep your people happy, while dealing with all the other lords around you. You can start wars and alliances with whoever you want. You can change the course of History like this. Imagine House Reyne wasnt wiped out? Things like that. The game would change as you played it, and the goal is to either say alive till modern day or claim the Iron Throne for your house. Theres a lot more you can add to this and if I think of more I will add onto this. If you do use my ideas, do credit me.

There really should be a scene with Wyll after saving Mirkon and Arabella. We meet him helping tieflings in the battle!! He's there teaching the kids how to defent themselves!! He cares for the people there, so saving both kids would definitely a big bonus in his books.
After saving Arabella Wyll could mention how glad he is that the kid is save, how terrible it would be a parent to lose their kid, who only wanted to help. Y'know some subtle hints why Wyll took Mizora's deal. Wanting to help.
Over at Mirkon he could also reminisc one time jumping in the river, wanting to find mermaids. (I think Ulder wrote about this in his journal or smth?) and offhandedly mentio his father but suddenly turn quieter and only saying that he is glad Mirkon is safe.

I was going to tag this as part of the Astorvember, but I did kind of branch off from the malice topic, so I decided not to (aight I've read that I can ^-^ ) It's not a backstory, but more of a rambling about that DLC cult scene, involving malice. It's a bit long wall of text of ideas/ramblings that I could be way off and overthinking about, but I still thought I would share.
In the story description, it says the rest of the cult were “unable to withstand the power of malice”.. Unable? Eh? You mean Ganon didn’t intentionally mean to kill them (except maybe the last one/two)? Somehow Astor was the only one able to, and either he was evil enough to not die from it immediately, if malice responds to internal intentions (like being evil)  instead of external factors (like physically controlling it), or he was just built different. Maybe he forced himself to withstand it, Idk.
And I say Ganon maaaybeeee didn’t mean to kill them because he kind of took his time with the last two seers. And he was just killing all them one by one. If I were Ganon, and I only intended on taking one person out of a group, I would’ve just killed the rest on the spot, at the same time. Not sure what’s the point of doing it one by one- unless that was just what the storyboard went or if Ganon was just that much of a bitch. And it seemed it was going to spare the very last seer, until he attempted to destroy it with the rock.
… Wait-
What if Ganon WAS going to take the other two? Once he realized giving the previous seers malice was killing them (note that Astor was being maliced before anyone else was, right before the first seer fell on his ass, so that might’ve made Ganon think he could continue on with the others. Or, wait.. Unless he sensed Astor as the most “evil” and went with him first, and then went down whoever was the second most evil, and so forth..), Ganon decided to stop when he was killing his potential servants. He was going to spare the last two, but one started running off, and Ganon decided nevermind and killed him, then the other one.. He just watched him. Didn’t kill him right away, just watched him. Then when he was literally seconds away from breaking the harbinger, Ganon kills him too.
Somehow only Astor was able to handle the malice. And honestly I can’t think of how really, it’s either just fate, him messing around with malice beforehand and had built a resistance (?) to it, or he was evil enough to handle it.
Now.. my question is, are the others dead dead? And not just knocked tf out? Put into a coma?
In my AU story, I can't decide if they all could "withstand" it either by just pure luck or if Ganon revives them.. Or if something else revives them.
