KaiShin scene fic idea: Kyoto arc
I dunno if it'll just be a part of a fic or a fic itself based on the idea of Kaito being there in Kyoto too simply to keep his reckless Tantei-kun safe but I just want Kaito to be there in Kyoto
Shinichi doesn't want to admit it, but he's happy and excited to have KID around not unlike when he mistakenly thought Vermouth was Kaito
It could be a willing favour he takes up when Haibara and Hakase told him about the school field trip (in this fic idea, they've come to a truce after the Bell Tree Express). While they dont know his identity yet, they do know Kaito hangs out at Blue Parrot since Jii is a friend of Hakase's
Anyways, since I headcanon that Kaito is a year older than Shinichi, Shinichi has a habit of calling Kaito 'senpai' or 'Kai' in private moments. While he has all the clues for KID's identity, Shinichi keeps it to himself as a sign of trust until KID himself does the reveal
Which Kaito does when he waits by his motorcycle at the hotel's entrance, phone in hand
---------
"Hello?" Shinichi answers, standing with the rest of his class as they wait for their teacher's instruction and feeling a little confused at the unknown number
A familiar voice chuckles, dark and smooth with dangerous mischief. "A little Ojou-chan told me that you're doin' something reckless without me. Which, unfair, so I'd thought of joining you."
"...hah?"
"What's wrong, Shinichi?" Ran asks
But Shinichi can't hear anything besides the thumping of his heart, anticipation and excitement coursing through him. "Are you--?"
"Look up, Tantei-kun."
And he does, eyes finding KID on instinct across from him and without realizing it, a beaming smile blooms across his face not unlike the sunflowers KID likes to give him
"Senpai!" a breathy laugh tumbles out, disbelief and excitement mixing as Shinichi jogs up to KID
KID pushes away from his bike, wearing his preferred style of clothing that he rarely wears around Ekoda to avoid questions about his more powerful physique because of his life as a phantom thief
Noting this, Shinichi takes in KID under the sunlight for the first time. The pitch black hair. The gold eyes that darkens into indigo-violet when they reach his pupils. The blue jeans and black leather jacket over a white v-neck that hides absolutely nothing of the powerful body underneath
But its the familiar roguish grin on a dangerously handsome face, the dark glint dancing in those summer night eyes that will always gives KID away
Shinichi reaches out, hand on cool leather above a beating heart and chuckles when it doesn't fade away into an illusion. "You're here. Under the sunlight."
"Thought it was about time that Kuroba Kaito gets to spend time with you too, Tantei-kun." Kaito smiles, soft and private when shocked blue eyes snap up at him as he tucks a sunflower behind Shinichi's ear. "Not like you didn't already know who I am though, hm, Meitantei?"
Shinichi blinks before returning the smile and lightly punches a sturdy shoulder. "Wanted you to tell me when you were ready, barou."
Kaito snickers
They break apart when a teacher calls out. "Would you be Kuroba-kun by any chance? The volunteer for the tour?"
"That's me." Giving a showman's bow, Kaito smiles with cool politeness and offers a rose to the woman. "At your service."
Amused at the flustered teacher, Shinichi raises a brow at the magician. "Volunteer?"
"I spend a lot of my time here because of a family friend." Kaito grins, sneaking an arm around Shinichi's waist to pull the detective close. His grin widens when Shinichi merely rolls his eyes before settling into his side, used to his antics by now. "So who better than me to offer a tour for this ancient capital?"
Shinichi huffs. "A local?"
"Ah, but knowing me, does that answer still stand?"
Knowing by now that KI- Kaito can most likely impersonate a local from decades past, Shinichi shakes his head. "Fine, fine."
They share a laugh, making their way to where the rest of Teitan are
-----
That's all I've got for now. If you've read this up until the end, thank you so much! I hope you enjoyed it

Then 17 and 44 for kaishin? I know you’ve already done kaishin but :(
It's okay, I don't mind doing a ship twice ;)
17. “I can’t sleep, can I stay here?”
44. “You’ve always felt like home.”
--
Shinichi was beyond exhausted when he got home. He'd been on a case for the last two days. Or three days. He wasn't sure. The only thing he knew was that he hadn't slept since this serial killer case started and three murders in, he solved the case and they caught the murderer. All he wanted right now was his bed. Perhaps a sandwich first? No, too much work, never mind.
He paused when he walked into the mansion and noticed the light in the kitchen was on. Walking in to check it, he found a plate with a sandwich on it, a post-it note on the rim of the plate – Don't forget to eat, Great Detective [KID doodle]. Shinichi rolled his eyes fondly. Ever since he'd gotten his body back, he had started receiving visits from KID. Sometimes just to talk, other times to make sure Shinichi slept or ate. With a smile did he grab the sandwich off the plate and stuff half of a half into his mouth in one go. He'd been starving, he hadn't noticed just how hungry he was. A relieved sigh escaped him as he made his way toward his bedroom, loosening his tie with one hand.
The next surprise waited for him in his bedroom, where he found a curled-together phantom thief on his bed. Blinking repeatedly, Shinichi approached his bed and then sat down on the edge.
“Oi, Goldilocks, the three bears are back home, wondering why you're in their bed.”
“I can't sleep,” replied the thief, sounding tired. “Can I stay here?”
It was impossible to deny KID anything when he looked so... vulnerable. Curled together, cocooned into his own cape. Shinichi took another bite from his sandwich, noting the lack of top-hat and monocle. Thankfully enough, he'd also taken off his shoes before laying in Shinichi's bed.
“At least make some room. That's my bed and I'd like to sleep too,” said Shinichi with a grunt. “And get out of the costume. That can't be comfortable for sleeping. You can borrow some pajamas.”
A blinding smile was aimed his way as the thief scooted aside to make room. In a puff of smoke did KID change them both, leaving Shinichi in Kaitou KID pajamas that he definitely did not own, while KID was wearing Shinichi's favorite pajamas. So the thief had brought his own pjs. Honestly, Shinichi was too tired to complain about it and the pajamas were quite comfortable.
“You had a heist today?” asked Shinichi. “Bit... lost on what day it is, honestly. Had a case.”
“I noticed,” whispered KID. “Hence the sandwich. Yeah. Had a heist. Didn't... go so well.”
Shinichi's eyes fell onto the costume, noting a hole in the arm and blood on it. “Do you need help?”
“No. It just graced me. I used your first-aid kit, I'll be fine,” assured KID with a small smile.
“Then... why did you come here and didn't go home?” asked Shinichi confused.
“You've always felt like home,” replied KID softly before they both dozed off in each other's arms.

Something Like Moving On
The sound of his anger resurfaces in memory. It echoes so loudly in Shin's head that it reaches his ears and plays back as though the sound is fresh.
It was a voice so different from Kai's. Condescendingly suave, especially against Kai's smooth deep from which had only ever come good things.
Sometimes endearingly odd things. Sometimes aloof, or ambiguous. But never any "I'm still expecting an apology." or "What makes you think you can talk to me like that?" or "You're really crying over that? Ahaha, it's so cute when you cry, Shin. It's so funny, you're always so pathetic."
Always that smile, and that laugh. Shin swears he hears it echo in his own voice, at times. At those times, he wants to rip out his voice box. When he catches a glimpse of his smile in a window, it falters. He wonders if he looks like him. Aside from Sou Hiyori himself, nothing terrifies him more.
He has a little sister who deserves the world. He has a boyfriend, miraculously, who needs his support. So many good friends he doesn't deserve.
He can't be like him, if only for them.
...
Shin exhales shakily, laying his head down onto his keyboard.
"Have you been sleeping well, Shin?" His boyfriend's steady voice follows the sound of a door opening.
"As well as ever." Shin lifts his head to look at Kai. His eyebags feel particularly heavy at the moment, but Kai looks as put together as ever, even though he was just doing chores around the house.
"Shall I carry you to bed?"
Shin still can't discern whether or not this is a joke at this point in their relationship. It likely reflects poorly on him as a boyfriend, but a smile creeps onto his face anyway. A weary smile, but a smile nonetheless. He thinks he can make out the beginnings of a smile on the corners of Kai's lips too.
"I won't stop you," He shrugs.
"Bridal style, then," Was all Kai said before he picks up Shin like a feather. His eyes widen as he's lifted from his chair– Is Kai just stronger than he initially thought, or is he just that easy to carry?
As Kai promised, it was bridal style. Shin feels odd, being pressed against Kai's chest, but his arms are admirably secure and this is more than Sou would've ever done for him. More than Sou could've ever made him feel.
Kai places him down onto their bed, pressing a small kiss to his forehead. The warmth that spreads throughout his body soothes him like nothing else. It was as if Kai had literally kissed the worries from his mind.
'No, I won't think about him anymore tonight. I've got better things to think about.'
He exhales something reminiscent of relief. Or maybe, it's something more like moving on.

Anyone remember that fic where Kaito (in full KID regalia) and Shinichi (still stuck as Conan) are making out in Inspector Nakamouri's office and he, of course, inevitably ends up walking in on them and they have to explain to him that no, KIDs not a pedophile, Conan's actually 16, because I'm slowly becoming convinced I just made that one up

Getting them together it is! Basically 900 words of talking between lil bro!Conan and Kaitou Kid, but I’ll take it.
Kuroba Kaito is not in a good mood. His cape is dirty, he has the pentagonal imprints of a soccer ball on his face, and not only that, that Edogawa brat had stolen the jewel back before he could even check it against the light of the moon. And if Kaito didn’t still have to find the Pandora gem, he’d retire then and there out of shame.
“Tantei-kun,” he calls out over the roof. “Meitantei wouldn’t want you angering a thief,” he says. “Criminals are dangerous, you know. You shouldn’t be playing around with them.” It was only luck that Snake hadn’t shown up with them here yet.
“Shinichi-nii-chan is the reason I’m here!” calls a young voice from behind the stairwell.
“Got you!” Kaito says as he pounces behind it, but it’s only a tiny speaker attached to a Kid doll with no characters for eyes and a he for a mouth. Kaito picks it up and chokes it.
The kid has the audacity to blow a raspberry at him. It means he's somewhere where he can see him.
“All right, where are you?” Kaito says, whirling. He’d thought dealing with Kudō junior alone would be easier, but much to his chagrin, even on his own the little brat is a demon and just as clever as his older counterpart, if not more so.
“If you’re having trouble finding a elementary schooler, no wonder you can't find the jewel you're looking for,” he says from behind him.
Kaito whirls again  to find him standing behind him on the stairwell leading to roof access, dart watch aimed at him.
“Isn't it past your bedtime?” Kaito asks, pulling out his card gun.
“That's funny, coming from you. I deduced you were a high schooler a long time ago and Shinichi-nii-chan agrees with me,” Edogawa Conan says.
Kaito frowns internally, but keeps his face blank.  “And why isn't Meitantei here tonight? Shouldn't he be keeping an eye on you?” Kaito says, ignoring the watch, holstering his gun, and putting his hands on his hips.
“He thinks I'm at the professor's. Besides, he says he worries, but he doesn't really worry when it's you.” He drops his watch and reaches into his pocket and pulls out the gem, but he deliberately keeps it out of the moonlight. “Anyway, if you want it, I'll give it to you instead of the police on one condition.”
“What's stopping me from taking it right now, boy?” Kaito asks.
“You could, but you wouldn't be a gentleman if you did, and a gentleman has to be kind and gracious and play by the rules. That's what Shinichi-nii-chan says anyway.”
“Gentlemen thief.”
Edogawa rolls his eyes. “Yeah, sure, but you still have rules of engagement and you won’t steal it if you think you can trick me out of it.”
What kind of grade schooler knows the word engagement? But Kaito wrinkles his nose, because he’s right.  Ugh. Well, he's still angry about the soccer ball to the face, but he doesn't want to hurt the brat. He might if they struggle.
“Okay, I'll play your game. What's your condition?”
“You take Shinichi-nii-chan on a date!”
“Seriously?” Kaito says. “ I don’t need this jewel that much.”
Edogawa sighs. “Okay, your loss,” he says, and his hand falls to his dart watch.
“Wait a minute, Tantei-kun, what’s to say that he’s even interested? This isn't like smooshing the faces of your dolls together.”
Edogawa ignores the taunt and grins. “The way you phrased that means you are. Great! Then it will work out just fine!”
“What?”
“You were the only part I wasn’t sure about. Shinichi-nii-chan was never going to go for it because he thinks you flirt like that with everyone. For someone so smart, he can be really dumb sometimes. That’s why I had to get involved. So will you?”
Kaito wasn’t that obvious about it...was he?
“Is he really interested?” Kaito asks, curious despite himself.
“I’m sick and tired of listening to him pine for you,” Edogawa says irritably. “‘Conan, what tricks do you think he’ll have at next week’s heist? I can’t wait!’” he says, pitching his voice deeper, “and ‘That midair thing was really clever, he’s always outdoing himself,’ and ‘Conan, have you listened to him mimic voices, his range is amazing!’ it’s annoying. Then he tries to hide it around other people and pretend like he’s not and that makes it even worse. He pretends you’re rivals but he really wants you.”
Kaito blinks. Where they talking about the same detective?  “I’m not so sure you understand—” he begins.
Edogawa cuts him off. “I know what that looks like,” he says with a huff. “I’m young, not stupid, and even if I wasn’t the both of you are annoyingly obvious about it. Now are you going to do it, or not?”
“Fine. But if this blows up in my face, I'm going to put glitter in your everything and permanently affix a kick me sign to your back.”
“Copying me, huh?”
“If it works.”
“I'm not wrong. I know I'm not.”
“Sure,” Kaito says, dragging out the word. “We'll see.”
“Here you go!” Edogawa chirps in his syrupy sweet “smarter than all the adults and aware of it” voice. “Oh, by the way, I already checked it against the moon. It didn't do anything special.”
Kaito ignores him and double checks. The damn brat was right and had played him like a song. Kaito tosses the gem back to him. “Get out of here!” Kaito says as the kid laughs and scampers away.
Hmph. Brat. He'd outplayed him again. But Kaito can't even bring himself to be mad about it because it probably means he is right about Meitantei.
Kaito wonders if it's really true. Well, only one way to find out.

For the prompts, kaishin angst or breakup fic
Hey, is a zombie AU angst enough for you? I hope this is alright anon!
Shinichi pulls him forwards, giving him a frown. Thisis… KID - Kaito, his Kaito, except, it’s nothing like him at all. There’s achain around his neck, usually keeping him tied to the wall, just anotherzombie at the shooting range.
How dare Hattori not tell him.
“Kaito-”
He blinks. This isn’t fair - this entire… fuckingapocalypse is too much. To think that first the planet’s population had droppedso drastically because of a man-made parasite, the organisation’s poisonfinally completed. So many infected, turned into mindless zombie-likecreatures, because of such a thing…
Kaito blinks. Red, shining eyes stare across at him,and he moves his face forwards, as if to try and take a bite. Of course hewould, the parasite consumes all of the frontal lobe in the brain, targetingthe prefrontal cortex and overriding any sense of conscience. All of that gone, because the parasite was eating away at that, causing the medulla oblongata toswell instead.
Primal urges intensified, increasing everything.Violence. Lust. Hunger.
Shinichi shudders. What will Kaito be like now?
Should he shoot him before he hurts anyone? That wouldbe the most humane thing, right? Shinichi leans back, pulls out his serviceweapon, a pistol, and checks the safety. Shooting out loud will cause a lot ofnoise, will probably bring the undead to their camp, but he can’t bring himselfto do anything… quiet.
Probably because quiet means violent. And bloodier.
“Kaito…” he whispers, clicking the safetyoff and raising the gun so it’s level with his lover’s forehead. “I’msorry.”
Kaito blinks. And then, looking up, his best imitationof a smile - bloody, and with sharpened teeth dedicated to ripping flesh frombone - dances across his face.
“Shin… ni…. chi….”

“I assume Kuroba-kun will be staying the night, so there’s extra breakfast in the fridge. Please, please don’t work out anything weird for the sake of ‘creativity’ tonight. I really don’t want to be reminding you that the Professor and I are just next door.”
Kaito grins at the last sentence, purposely yanks Shinichi by the waist closer to him and Shiho rolls her eyes in response as she slips her flats on.
A post for the DCMK Kaishin Secret Santa Event!
Merry early Christmas @n3rdlif343va! I’m your Santa hehe I hope you’d like this gift of kaishin just cuddling and being fluffy. There’s a short drabble to accompany this under the cut below! Please stay safe and healthy wherever you are~
Thank you @dcmkkaishinevents for hosting this exchange!
“Got it, Ai-ch- “
“-and it’s Miyano to you, Kuroba-kun,” Shiho says and for a second it’s ice cold, and another she is already out of the door, leaving only Kaito and Shinichi in the space that now feels too large for two people. Really, Shinichi should already be used to the quiet corridors and halls four times the span of his arms spread but maybe it is just the fact that everyone was bustling in his living space minutes ago that is getting to him. Ran had done the favour of sending the children back to their houses with the help of Sonoko.
“Hey,” Kaito says, pulling Shinichi closer, “-I’m still here you know.”
Shinichi smiles and leads Kaito to a bean bag right by the Christmas tree. Courtesy of his parents who are currently in New York, that one. Though the one who selected the tree was no other than his boyfriend who is currently giggling and holding their hands up together.
“You just had to pick the ugliest tree and decorations don’t you?” Shinichi asks, hugging a pillow and making himself comfortable in Kaito’s lap. For a moment Kaito wanted to mention how touchy Shinichi is behaving tonight but decides to keep it to himself lest Shinichi turns unbearably red and decides to distance himself at least a meter away.
“Simplicity is the best, I think,” he hums into the crown of Shinichi’s hair instead. Shinichi smells like the cake the Professor baked earlier.
“Yeah, but you knew the kids would come! Ayumi and Genta must've wanted to hang some wishes on the tree.”
“Then aren’t we lucky that Professor Agase bought another one in his house!” Kaito laughs, bringing Shinichi’s head to rest on his chest. They stay like that for a few minutes and Shinichi considers saying something embarrassing (that in his defence, is long overdue) until distant fireworks rang outside the window. He conceals a sigh but his face turns red all the same yet it is all okay when he looks up and sees Kaito gently looking at him through patient eyes.
‘Maybe next time. Definitely next time,’ Shinichi promises himself.
“Merry Christmas, Kaito,” he says instead.

E for the fandom meme!
Thank you for asking! ;u;
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what
Hmm... I guess this one depends of the person, as everyone sense of humor is different, but I just answered another ask with a slightly crack idea, also wrote a KaiShin fic that for my questionable sense of humor is hilarious (do not trust my sense of humor, I watch animes with weird plots because I find them hilarious as well).
I also have a list with 50+ incorrect quotes that I made for me to draw... That I’m not drawing. But as of the moment I answered this ask, I did two (2)! So that’s a thing. You can find them on my incorrect quotes tag!
I don’t know if it counts, as I never shared them outside of the KaiShin discord, but I have a few crack/slightly crack ideas (because I either go angst or humor, no in-between), Kaito The Game Character is one of my favorites. I even have a silly drabble about it. More about the idea under read more! :D
Ask me things? :D (I’m still bored and can’t draw. Hope my new PC arrive soon ;w;)
Being a self-aware player character in a video game has its perks. Kaito doesn't need to think too hard about the consequences of his actions because ultimately everything would work out and if he is almost dying, he knows he will respawn later.
Kaito only wishes his player was less of an idiot.
Shinichi is a romanceable Knight NPC, but originally only for female characters. The player used a mod to make him romanceable, but the voice lines can’t change, so he keeps calling Kaito a princess and overall acting like Kaito was a girl.
The game has a really generic romance route.
The player spends a lot of time modding the game to add romantic events for Kaito/Shinichi
Kaito is well aware of what the player does and facepalm all the time. He just wants to save the kingdom and finish the game for good, but the player keeps doing sidequests and adding events.
He is programmed to fall in love with whoever the player chooses to romance and he can’t help it, but couldn't he at least be treated like the warrior he is instead of a delicate princess? Who are the creators of the game to write female playable character romances like that? He wants to have a conversation.
Kaito hates how much he loves NPC Shinichi anyway
Lots of shenanigans with classics like pressing A too many times to talk and repeating NPC dialogue, saving over and over again, jumping for nor reason or running and circles and walking straight to the walls (and not a single NPC acknowledging it)
And for the silly drabble... I just wanna say that I wrote this in one go just before sleeping and I never polished it up (and probably never will, unless brain decides for me to flash this scene more, which for now seems unlikely).
It was based on a memorable Dragon Age 2 fight of mine.
Kaito is the chosen hero, destined to save the world from calamity. He's invincible, unstoppable and incredibly handsome, able to woo anyone he desires. A true force of nature.
When the king's court was being attacked by the demon pirates and their leader, Kaito and his party showed up on time to save the day, as it's their duty as saviors of the realm.
To avoid needless bloodshed, the leader of the demon pirates proposed an one-on-one duel with a chosen champion. If the king's champion wins, they would leave without causing anymore destruction, if the pirates win, their leader would be the new king.
With Kaito on their side, they didn't hesitate to accept the proposal. How could they not, with the chosen hero at their side?
That's why Kaito now is about to fight the leader. They get ready to fight and… Kaito starts running desperately through the arena, running away from the leader while casting fireballs from the distance?
Kaito would facepalm if he was physically capable to. How could he forget his player's tendency to panic in fights and just run away from everything? Especially from such a heavy hitter like this demon going against Kaito's poor defenses as a mage. If the player tries to fight with the minimum shade of honor, Kaito would be destroyed and they would have to start the fight all over again, his player is that bad at dodging.
Thinking more about it, isn't he basically a blood mage, a practice frowned upon and chased down by the church? How is he the glorified hero again…?
Humiliating twenty in real life minutes of Kaito running away like a scared chicken passed when the leader's HP finally drops to zero. The crowd goes wild cheering, congratulating him for winning the fight and saving the kingdom.
"You won a fair fight." the leader says. "It was an honour to duel with someone as admirable as you. As promised, me and my crew will retire and never bother this land again. You have my word."
That's nice and all that, but please don't tell Kaito that this was any sort of honorable duel, he's already dying inside as it is.
"As expected of the champion!"
"Long live the hero!"
"Hurraaaay!"
A familiar figure approaches Kaito and takes his hand to press a kiss on it.
"I knew that my princess would be capable of taking care of the pirate leader alone." Shinichi says.
Oh? Not treating Kaito like a breakable figure for once? Now that's an improvement. Maybe the romance route isn't that bad, after all?
Without any kind of prompt, Shinichi holds Kaito and carries him bridal style."You must be tired after all this fighting, let me carry you to the room the king is giving is for tonight, you should rest."
Kaito tries to fight the blush appearing on his face. First that pathetic excuse of a fight, now he is being carried out of the arena, this is just getting more and more humiliating.
Then again, from here he has an excellent vision of Shinichi's face, the way he looks at Kaito like he's the most precious person in the world…
Oh well, Kaito supposes he can live with that.

KAISHIN DRABBLE #3: SCORCHED WINGS
A drabble inspired by that rooftop scene in movie 23: fist of the blue sapphire
-------
Shinichi doesn't know what compelled him, but leaving KID struggling to wrap the bandage around himself really doesn't sit well with him.
So before he can think better of it, Shinichi reaches out to take over. "Let me."
"Wha-"
Grumbling, he slaps away the hand trying to steal back the bandage roll. "It won't hold when you're in pain to do it properly, barou."
KID huffs as he relents, reluctantly staying still for Shinichi to do his work. "Bossy brat- ow! Hey!"
He bites back a smirk, easing the bandage from its knot. "You were saying?"
"...you are so not cute."
Shinichi ignores that in favour of sweeping a critical eye on his work, his mind distantly noting and cataloguing the various aged old scars littering KID's broad back. Most are likely from bullets with occasional deeper cuts from knives.
A morbid sort of tapestry.
Shaking his head, Shinichi was about to step away before he spies burnt skin peeking out of stark white bandages. Brows furrowing in concern, Shinichi reaches up, fingers grazing old leathery skin--
A hand snaps around his wrist, firm and unyielding.
"Don't." Moonlight spills from behind, casting them both in shadow in a hushed whisper between them. "Please."
And as Shinichi stares up into those luminous eyes of deep indigo, he can only give a shaky nod as his heart thunders in his ears.
Wings, his mind whispers. It looked like a pair of wings.
It was brief but when KID turned around, the moonlight threw his scarred back into sharp relief and he saw the way that burnt scar seems to expand across broad shoulders like a pair of macabre wings. As if it was burnt right off from KID's back.
Or seared right onto him.
Shinichi averts his eyes and notes the almost grateful pressure around his wrist as the wind whips around them. Swallowing down his questions has always been remarkably easy when it comes to KID and this time is no different.
Shinichi ignores what that says about him.
In the future, once the war against the Black Organisation is won and over with, he'll lay intertwined with his beloved thief, body finally regained. He'll trace each scar with hands and lips on that broad back and lingers on a pair of wings, heart stuttering in his chest as he listens to a memory of a desperate, wailing boy trying to drag his father's dead body out of the burning stage. Of how the fire never left that boy even afer searing scorched wings upon a small back.
He'll weep.
In grief and relief, both for the boy of the past and the man he'll spend the rest of his life loving.
But that's a time for the future.
Instead in the here and now, he'll watch in almost fond exasperation as KID stands before him in full regalia and flies off into the night.
Scorched wings ablaze in the moonlight.

Wait wait are you still open for the writing one? If you do, 1 and kaishin?
Yes, I am still open for prompts! And yes, I can! This drabble is brought to you by the goat post you and Hiro just put on my dash. xDDD
1. “I love you, please don't go.”
--
“I love you, please don't go,” there was a whine to Kaito's voice.
Shinichi glared deeply and crossed his arms in front of his chest. He was fully aware of who he was dating, who he was living with. Kaitou KID. There was a lot of nonsense to be expected when dating the elusive prankster phantom thief. So he let a lot slide. A lot. But this one? Could he?
“You say you love me. But your actions seem to contradict that,” replied Shinichi.
Again did Kaito whine. “No, no, no. This is! This is a romantic gesture!”
Shinichi's eyebrow twitched and he reached out for the table, picking up the torn-apart book. “This. How is this a romantic gesture, Kaito? This was my favorite copy of A Study in Scarlet.”
The way Kaito winced told Shinichi that at the very least did the thief take him and his offense to the matter seriously. Kaito was down on his knees in front of Shinichi, begging and pleading for forgiveness. It was pretty hard for Shinichi to stay mad at Kaito usually. But this? This was too much, this time no amount of cute thief pouting would get him out of trouble.
“In my defense, that was not my intend!” argued Kaito weakly.
“Not your intend,” parroted Shinichi in utter disbelief. “Might I quote a certain phantom thief who gave me grievance when I took him to Paris? Complaining that I could not take a 'poor, little phantom thief to the Louvre and not expect him to steal something'?”
“I don't see how that-” started Kaito with a defiant pout.
Shinichi slapped the book back down onto the table with a loud thud and motioned with both hands left to himself. “You bought a goat and let it roam free in the house! You didn't even look the bloody library up! How did you not expect the goat to eat the books, Kuroba?!”
Kaito winced at that. He hated when Shinichi used his last name because it meant Shinichi was seriously mad with him. The goat, unhelpfully, bleated at that and moved dangerously close to a bookshelf once more. Shinichi watched her with a twitching eye, daring her to bite another book.
“A goat, for heaven's sake! A goat!” exclaimed Shinichi and threw his hands up in the air.
“It's...” Kaito blushed a little and pouted. “It's the goat we met a year ago, you know, when you got thrown out of an airship by terrorists. When I last visited her, her owners said they wanted to sell her and I just could not let her go like that... That was like our first big bonding, that case.”
Despite himself, Shinichi flushed just the slightest bit and his eyes softened. He knew Kaito had bonded with the animal back then and kept going back to the beach. Sometimes the two of them.
“You still should have thought that through,” argued Shinichi sternly as he straightened up. “And I am sleeping at Ran and Sera's tonight. While you clean up your goat's mess.”

Vielleicht
„Rede keinen Unsinn, Haibara!
„Was machst du hier, Kaito-san?“, wollte Mitsuhiko schließlich wissen.

Anonymous said: drabble: the day jōryokuju was put into shin's care
[drabble prompt.]
Nervousness unlike anything he has ever felt before courses through his system, plaguing him with trembling hands and his heart beating quickly enough to almost hurt.
He shouldn't do this. He can't do this. He can't be a caretaker to an innocent child when he can barely keep his universe running.
They don't deserve to be thrown to the hands of a failure, weak and terrified of things far beyond what most will ever see. (But for better or worse, the choice to care for the infant is not his to make.)
His unsteady grip remains on one of many books he has poured over in the past few weeks in his efforts to prepare as best as he can, indentations -- however slight they may be -- left on its cover.
Jōryokuju. All I know is their name. How am I going to do this? When it feels as if anyone I dare get attached to dies?
“Enough,” he tells himself, even as he keeps pacing under the tree he was told to wait by. “Whether or not I think I can, I will. I will do my best to raise this child properly.” (He doesn’t say that he’ll love them, because he isn’t sure it will be possible.)
But it’s then that he feels a voice, distant until he allows it to enter his mind, the apathetic voice of the caretaker from Kaishin that had first informed him of this task now telling him that they’d be there momentarily.
It doesn’t feel real. Is it? Is fate really so cruel that it would sentence a child to suffer under the inadequacy that is him and his ability to care?
He takes in a deep breath and closes his eyes, thinking of all of the supplies he has prepared and the knowledge he has done his best to gather.
And when he opens them, company has arrived in the form of some adult Kai he barely knows or cares about -- and a pudgy little baby, whose wide-eyed, curious gaze captures his heart in an instant.

howdy!
i’ve been living in japan for six months and things have been going great! i was asked to recontract and i decided to go for it, so now i’ll be here until at least july 2020. because of that, i decided it’s time to buy basic comforts, like a couch (i’ve been living here without a place to sit lol). i also need to maintain my bike as it’s my only mode of transportation, and i really need to make an appointment with an international clinic to renew some prescriptions i brought with me from home.
my needs aren’t urgent, but if anyone wants to buy me a coffee to help out, i’d really appreciate it! in return, if you message me with a pairing and a prompt, i’ll try to write a 100-300 word drabble for you! viktuuri, kaishin, miyusawa, and kurasawa requests only please!
thank you!
