There were so many good ones, but this tiny little tidbit was my very fave of the whole book, and it was even worse because it was such a small but beautiful thing in the midst of a terrible and chaotic moment.

And then I had a legit opportunity literally the next day to quote it, when someone was trying to express the exact same sentiment about someone in real life and was struggling to find the right words. It was a small thing but a crazy coincidence and blew my mind but made me so happy lol.

You know this thing about Alex Claremont-Diaz in RWRB?:

Well not only bc of the “-Diaz” overlap, but also bc it just fits them so well, Buddie and Christopher on 911 make me think of that.

Like I hc that Buck and Eddie get together and then get married, Buck adopts Chris, and they all three change their last names to “Buckley-Diaz.”

(with Buck and Eddie just keeping their OG names on their turnout jackets and Bobby just calling them those out in the field for clarity/efficiency)

And then I’d like to think that they do that same thing. Like in a situation like this:

okay so as always, i haven’t really had time to browse the tags, so sorry if someone already posted about this, but:

what if we get Eddie vs. Buck’s parents?

like since they’re in town for a visit and then Buck gets hurt, what if they try to visit him in the hospital

and Eddie’s there because of course he is, and he gives them a piece of his mind and tells them exactly what he thinks of them

and acts like a guard dog (in the best way lol) and tells them they’re not allowed to visit Buck because they don’t deserve to and wouldn’t have made the trip and visited him, like wouldn’t have come see him if they didn’t happen to already be in town

and that even if Buck’s in a coma, he might hear them talking/sense their presence and know they’re there and it might stress him out and keep him from waking up, so no, they’re not allowed

and they’re “like well who are YOU to tell US we can’t see our SON?” and he’s like “i’m his REAL family”

So I finally saw “Sister Act” (I know, I’m super late to the party lol) and the fact that she was hiding out in the convent as part of Witness Protection but then got the choir famous enough that they were garnering attention and on TV and stuff very much reminded me of Neil trying to hide from all his shit but joining a college sports team that he knew was gonna be on TV and stuff in AFTG 😂😂😂

I mean at least she actually joined Witness Protection and didn’t know she was gonna be on TV, unlike Neil 😂😂😂

But like when they were on TV and she was trying to hide but not really succeeding and the cop almost spit out his coffee when he saw it and called her and was like “WHY AM I SEEING YOU ON TV?!” That felt very “Mary from beyond the grave”-coded 😂😂😂

So I got an email from my high school marching band inviting me as an alum to the grand opening of a new tower they apparently built at the practice field. And some of the wording sounded a bit familiar:

They’re calling it the Nest! The Raptor Nest! Not the Ravens’ Nest, so it’s not exactly like AFTG. And that’s because we’re the Raptors, because the school’s name is Ravenwood, so they thought the Ravenwood Ravens would sound too dumb, and apparently our local NFL team has a rivalry with the NFL team (ironically, as far as AFTG goes) the Baltimore Ravens.

And it’s a tower, and the Ravens’ Nest in AFTG has towers! Now I’m sure this is just an observation tower, so the band director and staff can see them on the field from above in a more stable structure than the shitty scaffolding we had back in my day (lol), not like those towers that have dorms and whatnot (and are part of a huge stadium that houses a team that’s really a cult, etc.)… but still! I saw that email and was like wHAT?! and immediately had to come post here about it 😂

my roommates and i are rewatching Ted Lasso before the new season comes out, and we were talking about how good Roy is with kids

and i was like “it’s always the ones you’d least expect - the ones who are (seemingly) scary/grumpy/quiet/too cool for it, etc. - and it’s because they treat them like adults”

(I only just read this story/got into this fandom, so I don’t know if someone’s already done something like this, so please let me know if that’s the case!)

After reading “A Charmed Christmas” (right after reading “The Charm Offensive,” of course lol), this little bit popped into my head and just wouldn’t leave. This would be immediately following that:

After they get home, they’re tangled up in each other on the couch, just basking in the glow of their engagement for a little bit before they tell everyone.

And they both can’t stop looking at their own rings, and at each other’s rings.

Charlie voices that he’s already worrying about how he wants to keep the Red Vine ring forever, because realistically he knows he can’t, but he just loves it so much.

Dev sits quietly for a minute, clearly in thought, and then: “Well, what about one of those silicone rings that have become kind of a big thing more recently? Like, usually for people whose jobs are more physical or who lose their rings all the time? The silicone is reminiscent of the texture of the Red Vine, and they come in all sorts of colors, so you could definitely get a red one! So it would be like a permanent version of the Red Vine. Plus, that might honestly be better for you than a metal ring anyway, because you’re so active.”

And Charlie’s both thrilled to have a solution and in awe of Dev’s creativity and how quick he is with it: “That’s perfect! I love it. And I love you.” Either that or, as a less mushy and more funny version, this lol:

(i could’ve sworn i’ve seen a post already about this, but i can’t for the life of me find it, so here goes)

Buck’s desperate, panicked run though, with his limbs flailing every which way

in 2x13, i, for one, thought it was just the uneven/slippery terrain he was dealing with that made him run like that, like he was trying to find his balance as he was running:

and he kind of does it in 3x2, but he’s on the pier, which, if you’ve ever been on one of those, or even a boardwalk or dock, you know it can be quite uneven, and also he’s carrying chris which will add to that and is also why he’s not quite doing it full-out:

MINOR SPOILER ALERT FOR “YOUNG ROYALS” SEASON 2 (since it only just came out):

Wille at the 1st therapy session: Neil at his one mandatory session per semester with Bee, at least before he started filling the silence with Exy chatter / Aaron at his before he started going with Andrew

Wille at the last therapy session we saw, where he was pacing and not just talking but couldn’t get the words out fast enough: Andrew while still medicated, animatedly talking Bee’s ear off about his Neil problems like we just KNOW he did lol

EDIT: i also just remembered that in that last therapy session, Wille made?/poured his therapist and himself what looked like some kind of hot beverage (coffee, tea hot chocolate?), which is also like Andrew and Bee drinking hot chocolate in his sessions… so the similarities just keep going lol

(side note: can we talk about Wille serving his therapist as well as and even BEFORE himself? yes it’s the polite thing to do, but as a prince, he was probably raised to BE served instead of serving others - i just started watching “The Crown” [yes i know i’m so behind lol] so it had me thinking of when right after becoming the queen, Elizabeth offers Churchill refreshments and to take a seat and he’s like THE QUEEN DOES NOT DO THAT - so i just loved seeing that little moment of him being a good/sweet/polite person overruling that!)
