If you want to support Justice for LaVena but do not want to be triggered, just know the Military covered up a lot in her case and refuse to reopen it regardless of evidence. This is the Petition for Reopening her Case. Sign it if you can!

I want her and her family to finally find Justice, and I feel like if we spread the information on here, we may be able to do some good.

In short, LaVena Johnson was raped during her time in the Military and was murdered after reporting it to the Military. The Military tried to cover it up as a Suicide.

I cannot tell you guys just how awful this case is, and I can only imagine how many other cases were/are like this still happening in the Military today.

Please please please just sign this petition to Reopen her case. This needs to be investigated, LaVena and her family deserve Justice, and the people who ignored this needs to be punished accordingly.

This should not be happening, especially with the people who are supposed to be the protectors. They should be the safety, not the hidden monster.

#Repost @chakabars with @get_repost ・・・ #memorialday this will probably get taken down but hey, remember #lavenajohnson was a mid-west girl who was active in her community prior to joining the armed forces and being deployed to Iraq in 2005. She only weeks shy of her 20th birthday. Unfortunately, Johnson would have the distinction of being the first woman soldier to die in Iraq – but the circumstances behind her death have many crying cover up. The official version from the military is that Johnson’s boyfriend had ended things with her via email, which prompted her to print the emails out, burn them, then shoot herself in the mouth with a M-16. When her family got her body back home, her father noticed some unusual abnormalities such as bruises on his daughter’s face, evidence of a broken nose that had been concealed through plastic surgery, scratches on her neck, a busted lip and cracked teeth. The family began a private investigation and far more disturbing details soon came out. The crime scene photos showed a blood trail suggesting Johnson had been dragged into her tent, teeth marks were evident on LeVena’s torso, the bullet wound in her head was consistent with a much smaller caliber gun than the army had claimed and the bullet trajectory seemed to hint at an execution style shot from the top of the head – not through the mouth, her hands were covered by gloves that had been super glued to her skin, her hands had serious third-degree burns on them, and her vagina had acid burns on it – probably to help conceal a rape. The army refused to aid the family in their investigation, forcing the Johnson’s to use the Freedom of Information Act to acquire details of the crime. Officially the investigation remains open. There are graphic images online of the crime scene and body.

Hi everyone! Posting this because we need some HELP! Swipe right to see more progress pics and the gofundme page. As you can see, we’re nowhere near the goal and we’ve been supplementing with our own supplies and paint to be able to complete this 2 story mural, and with just one lift and a couple of ladders that barely make it half way, it’s been a tough job. To top it off weather has not been the best and it’s limited the time we can paint. At the moment we have an unveiling ceremony (scheduled along with Vanessa’s family) for October 3rd in which multiple families will be attending in remembrance of their fallen family members. Some people have flights planned, others will be driving down, and media has picked up on this and will be attending as well. We are donating all the time we can to complete this by the deadline, but without the proper tools we’re only moving inches along.
