Characters With An S/O Who Has OCD

mentioned: bo sinclair, lester sinclair, brahms heelshire, adam stanheight, lawrence gordon

warnings: implied contamination ocd, mentions of hand washing, mentions of injuries (cuts on hands), checking compulsions, counting compulsions, hurt/comfort

a/n: so this is probably one of the most personal things i'm gonna post on here since i actually do struggle with ocd but i hope you enjoy! also, lawrence and adam might not be 100% accurate because i'm only just starting out writing for them.

Bo Sinclair

Initially, you intended to keep the fact that you had OCD hidden from him, but you were eventually forced to tell him when he spotted the bloody cuts that covered your hands one day.

"The hell's wrong with your hands?" He asked, his face twisting in disgust as he pointed to the raw skin there.

"It's nothing." You said, shrugging him off.

But he wouldn't leave it alone. "Bullshit, ain't no way that's nothin'."

Eventually he wore you down and you tried to explain that it was from excessive hand-washing, to which he simply pulled a face, obviously confused.

There was no way he would sit down and listen to you explain in full though, so you opted to give him a brief explanation of your disorder before walking away, too scared to see his reaction.

Little did you know, he'd later show up to your room with what looked to be some sort of pharmacy bag.

"Look, I don't understand why the hell you'd do that to yourself, but it looks like it hurts." He said, awkwardly adjusting the hat on his head. "So I went out, got you some stuff."

He dumped the contents of the bag onto your bed, revealing an assortment of lotions and creams, and finally a roll of bandages, before stepping towards you slightly. "Didn't really know what you'd need, so I hope this is alright."

You couldn't help the smile forming on your lips as you looked up at him, his simple gesture making you feel less alone in your struggles. "Thank you."

He just shrugged it off before proceeding to silently take care of your injured hands.

Lester Sinclair

You told him pretty early in your relationship about your OCD and whilst he didn't fully understand it, he still supported you nonetheless.

He knew that you would often have bad days so he always made sure to ask how you were doing, sometimes offering to take you for a drive to help clear your head.

He could always tell when you were struggling because he'd notice how you would suddenly become reserved, quiet.

"You want some water?" He'd ask. "Or we could go into town for a little bit?"

He couldn't even begin to understand what you were going through but that didn't stop him from trying to help in any way that he could. And you definitely appreciated his kindness.

Brahms Heelshire

Honestly, when you first told Brahms you had OCD, he'd never even heard the term. But once you explained it to him, he immediately related to your need for control.

Obviously, not in the exact same way, but he understood how it could be distressing to go against certain routines, considering that was how he felt if he didn't stick to his own routines.

He didn't really understand what OCD was and he struggled to understand just how it affected you, but he understood that sometimes you would need space, time alone until you could get back on your feet.

He noticed how when you were having a bad day, you would be less physically affectionate with him, avoiding hugs and any close contact.

He wasn't a huge fan of the limited hugs or kisses and although his kiss goodnight had become an integral part of his nighttime routine, he tried to be okay with it not happening sometimes.

Brahms loved you and only wanted the best for you. He wanted to make sure you were okay and if giving you the space you needed was what helped, then he would definitely make himself scarce, probably retreating into the walls for a while until you were okay to spend time with him again.

And you would always assure him that he wasn't doing anything wrong and that you just weren't doing too good, and that you still loved him.

Adam Stanheight

For the first few months of your relationship, you decided to keep your disorder a secret from Adam, worried that he wouldn't understand and you would simply embarrass yourself.

But when you finally did tell him, well, he seemed pretty confused.

"So like what, you're a clean freak?"He asked, his brows still knitted together in confusion.

Your immediate thought was to get angry at him for saying such an insensitive thing, but Adam had seemed so kind during the months you'd been together so he surely didn't intend for it to be so insensitive.

You took a breath, proceeding to calmly explain to him that it was much more than just being a germophobe, which prompted him to begin asking a whole array of questions.

"Have you had this your whole life?" "If it hurts, why do you keep doing it?" "Have you talked to someone about it?" "Does that mean you don't like it when I hug you?"

And finally, "Are you okay?"

You couldn't control the smile on your face as you looked at him, the confusion still evident in his eyes even though he just spent the last ten minutes bombarding you with questions.

You told him that you were okay and that you had coping tools, but sometimes you would just have bad days.

He then joked that he was dating a superhero because it takes a strong person to live with something like that.

And then he ended with one final question. "Can I kiss you?"

Lawrence Gordon

There was never any hiding your disorder from Lawrence. He wasn't necessarily a psychiatrist, but he was still a doctor. The second he spotted all the repetitive behaviours he realised something was wrong.

He would often notice you checking the locks at night when he stayed over, or your countless trips to the bathroom, or the fact that it always took you exactly twenty seconds before you could walk away from the light switch.

He knew you were showing signs of OCD, he just didn't know if you knew.

One day whilst you were in the kitchen together, he brought it up. "I think you need to go and talk to someone."

You were slightly confused and a little taken aback at his sudden comment. "What?"

"I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to intrude, but I've seen your behaviour and I'm worried about you."

You just gave him a nervous laugh, knowing exactly what he was trying to say now. "What do you mean?"

He took a short breath before speaking again, as though he were giving a patient bad news. "I think you might have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder."

"Oh, I know." You answered. Now he was the one who was confused.

"What?"

"I didn't wanna say anything because I knew you'd probably just go into doctor mode and start treating me like a patient. And I didn't want that."

You both left the conversation like that, and you assumed that things would probably be awkward between you two now.

But the next morning, you walked into your kitchen to find Lawrence stumbling about as he attempted to plate up what looked like pancakes.

"I'm sorry about yesterday, I really need to learn not to bring my work home with me." He explained, an apologetic smile on his face. "I thought I'd make you breakfast, if you're up for it."

You offered him a small smile as you sat down with him, a warmth filling you at the sight of the misshapen pancake on the plate.

"Thank you for making breakfast." You told him. "And thank you for trying to diagnose me yesterday. I really do appreciate that you were just trying to help."

"If you ever need anything, you can come to me okay? I promise I won't treat you like a patient. I don't see you like that."

"Thank you."

What I think saw characters eat for breakfast

I'm not sure why but all these make perfect sense to me

John

I feel like John likes to keep it simple with egg and soldiers, not too much salt but a lot of pepper. If he wants to treat himself though, he'll make himself scrambled eggs on toast and a little salad. (He is my peepaw and I love him)

Amanda

She's an omelette girly <3 if she's got any vegetables knocking about she'll put them in, if not it's all just very plain. She prefers something more exciting, but can only really have something convenient and quick, considering how busy she is.

Lawrence

This man loves, and I mean LOVES, avocado on toast. He probably gets fancy bread from some market, and if he knew what the hell an Instagram was, he would post a picture of it with some corny caption like "what a way to start my day!🤗☀️🥑"

Adam

He doesn't eat breakfast most days, and when he does it's usually unbuttered toast. But in an ideal world, if he had the time and the money, he'd have pancakes with chocolate sauce every day. What can I say? I think he's got a sweet tooth.

Hoffman

I think Mark had a full English ONCE and never looked back. He doesn't have time to make one every day, but he'll be damned if he doesn't at least make himself a bacon sandwich with LOTS of brown sauce

Strahm

I think strahm is big fan of porridge with some jam in it. He makes a big deal of it being "healthy, yet tasty!"

Lynn

Lynn is a busy gal, her job means early mornings and a sporadic schedule, so there's no time to make a real breakfast. I think she's big into fruit smoothies for a quick breakfast that she can drink on her way to work.

ive been stuck in the airport for 8 hours and awake for 29 hours so i have deleriously begun thinking of domestic Mark Hoffman on a vacation.

To me he definitley screams airport dad, he’s holding everyones passports and boarding passes, he’s weighing everyones bags , quadruple checking everyone has everything they need and the whole kit and caboodle. but on the flip side the second yall are actually in the plane in the air he becomes normal cocky Mark Hoffman again, whispering in your ear about joining the mile high club and honestly probably doing it lolllll ,, his hand permanently gripping your thigh or having you sleep on his shoulder

anyway thats the end of my delusional rambles about my fav psycho bastard <33

ok this is so fucking funny and i haven't been able to stop thinking about it since this hit my inbox so have some headcanons (might make this into a full goofy fic at some point we'll see)

i have a headcanon that he dresses fairly darker on his days off (probably old band tshirts type of look) but on vacation this man would look like a stereotypical tourist

i'm just imagining you and Mark going on a vacation with all of the other apprentices (and Adam because i said so)

he's considered putting one of those kiddie leases on Adam because he always wanders off

the only person he doesn't yell at for walking too slow is John

he and Amanda are fighting because she tried to bring a knife through the metal detectors and now you're all stopped by security and he's worried you're going to miss your flight (it's four hours away)

the only people he doesn't get annoyed with are you and Lawrence (who he has put in charge of Adam)

"Amanda did you pack sunscreen for John? I don't want to listen to either of you complain if he gets burnt"

"babe i'm gonna kill them, someone is not making it on that plane."

he's internally screaming when Amanda and Adam start playing monkey in the middle with his wallet cause they're bored

"John control your children for fuck's sake"

"Lawrence would you control your boy toy my GOD"

you, John, and Lawrence are just sitting, patiently waiting to board the plane and watching Mark die a little inside

definitely said he would "turn this car around" at least once when you were on your way to the airport

once you're on the plane (and you've made sure he's not sitting next to Amanda or Adam) he's back to normal

absolutely makes a joke about you two joining the mile high club

(and you probably do if we're being honest)

will not stop whispering things in your ear just to entertain himself

Adam makes fun of you later after he saw you both sneaking out of the bathroom

you try and convince him to sleep on the plane ride but he refuses

it starts all over again once the plane lands

"babe someone is not going to make it to the hotel why didn't we just come by ourselves"

How often do you think Lawrence Gordon thinks about Adam? How often do you think the guilt of Lawrence leaving Adam in the bathroom overwhelms him to the point that he can’t breathe? How often do you think Lawrence dreams that he went back for Adam, only to wake up and realize that it was just a dream? How often do you think Lawrence believes that he should’ve been the one to die in that bathroom, because he failed his game and Adam won his? How often do you think about the fact that Lawrence, the man who tried to console Adam and told him that he would go back for him, that he wouldn’t lie to him, would have begged for John Kramer to save Adam? That by the time he was most likely better, that Adam was long dead?

Ever think about how the bathroom is most likely not known about? That Adam’s body will most likely stay there, trapped forever? Ever think about how a part of Lawrence is still trapped there, that a part of him will never move on because of the promise he broke, the promise that Adam probably clung to, even to his dying breath? I can’t even begin to imagine how Adam must’ve felt when Amanda arrived to kill him. Did he think it was Lawrence? Did he think it was a hallucination? Did Adam believe that Lawrence was dead, and that’s why Lawrence never came back? Do you think Adam hallucinated Lawrence’s voice, hallucinated Lawrence coming back to save him, Only to end up getting suffocated to death.

Lawrence Gordon and Adam Stanheight are so tragic to me, one alive, most likely suffocating in guilt as he is forced to march on, becoming a Jigsaw Apprentice, and the other, dead and trapped forever, his body most likely never seeing the light of day again.

Cooking HCs

A/N: assorted characters, GN!reader :) plz enjoy and feel free to send in requests!

-adam stanheight-

Bless his heart. I think he can cook simple things: box mac n cheese, a grilled cheese, a bowl of oatmeal. However, whenever he tries to cook anything that requires more than two cooking pans, it goes to shit really quick. If you're cooking with him, you manage to salvage it, but if he tries to cook it alone, it doesn't go so well. I can see him being able to learn how to cook more complicated meals, but nothing extravagant.

-amanda young-

I feel like Amanda is a good cook, but she doesn't have a lot of confidence when she first tries to cook for you. However, every time she cooks for you, you compliment her work, which gives her more confidence. She dabbles in baking, but she takes a reeeeaallly long time doing it because she makes sure every single aspect of it, down to the teaspoon, is precise. The results are always amazing, though.

This man can cook anything, basically, but he never fucking wants to. It's not a stubbornness thing, but a simplicity thing. He's fine with literally whatever, because by the end of the day, he usually exhausted. The plus side for him is no matter what the two of you have for dinner, you are still together, and he likes your company.

-lawrence gordon-

Like medicine, cooking is another one of Lawrence's passions. He loves cooking shows, cooking tutorials, cookbooks, cooking blogs, etc. He was quite a fast and efficient cook, which meant whenever he started cooking, you knew you wouldn't have to wait for forever to eat. However, he is very picky when it comes to cooking, so he prefers to cook alone, but enjoys sitting down to eat with you, of course.

SAW CHRISTMAS HEADCANONS!!!

Lawrence wants to get a real tree but Adam's apartment doesn't have room for that so he gets a fake one and makes Lawrence build it. Adam loves decorating the tree but all his ornaments are the wildest most random shit he's collected over the years. There's at least 3 penis shaped ornaments, which Lawrence shakes his head at every time he sees them.

Lawrence and Adam take Diana out to see the nutcracker but Adam is really bad at paying attention so he has to keep leaning over and asking Diana what's going on.

Perez decorates the station for Christmas, going a little bit overboard. Strahm rolls his eyes at her at first, but then she keeps catching him taking down the candy canes and eating them.

Lynn gets drunk at a Christmas party and makes Amanda do karaoke to Last Christmas. She hasn't been drinking but she reluctantly obliges to make her gf happy.

Lynn and Amanda have different ideas of Christmas decorating. Lynn likes tasteful decor with silver and red. Amanda puts big sparkly red and green bows on everything. She also puts reindeer antlers on the car, but like, the day after Thanksgiving.

Lawrence likes the classic Christmas songs, stuff from the 50s and 60s. Adam insists on putting on some god-awful metal Christmas covers from Wrath of the Gods.

A group of kids caroling come to the door of the station. Hoffman and Strahm try and ask them to leave, but Perez pushes them away and listens to all their songs, and gives them handfuls of candy before they leave. She then admonishes them for a 'lack of Christmas spirit'.

The tinsel around Lynn and Amanda's house keeps falling down because Lynn insists on putting it up herself, but also refuses to use anything other then tape to hold it up (too dangerous according to her).

Lawrence and Adam take Diana ice skating but Adam ends up holding both their hands. He can't remember the last time he's been ice skating but he's impressively good at it. He then gets too cocky and tries to show off by skating backwards but falls on his ass, and Lawrence is laughing so hard he falls over too.

Jill gets a lot of Christmas cards in the mail, and every year she gets a couple more from people who used to go to her clinic but recovered. Every time she gets any from former clinic patrons, she tears up and hangs them on the wall so she can see them and smile all the time.

whenever i see someone talking about adam waiting for lawrence to come back the entire time he was stuck in that bathroom i think about how Lawrence was absolutely not far enough away for adam to have not heard him scream when he cauterized his leg, directly after watching the dude he realized was the jigsaw killer lock the door and stalk off down the hallway where a lawrence minus one foot was crawling away (knowing that lawrence Technically failed his game too)

saw headcanons: music taste

peter strahm always struck me as an enjoyer of the oldies but goodies. frank sinatra, dean martin, eddy arnold, chet baker . . . jazz & swing. i like to think he used to play the saxophone at a jazz club in his youth, a side gig for cash.

it seems like everyone associates mark hoffman with nu metal and rock, which means it’s hard for me to envision anything different. three days grace, korn, system of a down, breaking benjamin, slipknot.

though i can’t find it now, i do seem to remember the mentions of posters and whatnot in adam faulkner-stanheight’s apartment practically confirming his love for things of the alt rock variety. bands like the ramones, the sex pistols, the clash, misfits, buzzcocks.

. . . but if you ask me, i’ve always thought adam faulkner-stanheight would also enjoy 80s new wave. oingo boingo, depeche mode, tears for fears, talking heads, joy division.

lawrence gordon falls into the same boat as peter strahm for me, oldies but goodies. i venture he’d go even older, more pretentious in his boasting for a love of tchaikovsky and alessandro moreschi. i imagine classical music and opera are highly ranked for him.

allison kerry strikes me as a lover of fleetwood mac & stevie nicks, i think most of her favorites come from the 60s-70s. other artists i see her liking: the shangri-las, tanya tucker, nico, nancy sinatra, lesley gore, kate bush, dolly parton, tammy wynette.

lindsey perez . . . a tough nut for me to crack. my gut instinct goes latin pop, or pop in general, and maybe R&B. las ketchup, blu cantrell, fugees (neither pop nor R&B, sure, but who confines their taste to just a genre), shakira, selena.

to me, adam couldve never been an apprentice

when zep's tape starts playing, to me, the shock on his face was always the realization that he just killed someone "innocent", that he beat someone to death who was just like him

hes not nearly as tough as amanda, he wouldnt give his own life for john, he isnt as smart (in this area) as hoffman or lawrence. hes scared of death and dying, he couldnt bear being around it, causing it. he wanted to be a vet, taking care of animals, helping those that cant help themselves. he'd probably cry if one of his patients didnt make it

i should add that i dont necessarily think he would judge amanda for being apprentice, he'd have a harder time accepting lawrence being one and he'd definitely hate hoffman for it.

he wouldnt support them (amanda/lawrence) in it, he wouldnt wanna be part of it, but i dont think he'd to anything about it either. i think he'd try to understand why, how they could do something like this while still being the people he knows. how much of that cruelty is really part of THEM, and how much is john. he wouldnt like it, hed try to reason with them, but he wouldnt do much more than that, i think.

if one of jigsaws victims was child murderer, for example, adam wouldnt care about them being killed, he wouldnt protest it (but he also wouldnt be able to look at it, plan it, do it). but johns victims are also innocent people, people who just had a bad year or do what they have to do. THAT adam wouldn't be able to bear
