I’m STOKED w my haul this month!!! I bagged some really good CDs which I'm SO happy ab like the “Helena” single by My Chemical Romance, I’ve been wanting it for AGES!!!! :D Since I'm currently on half term and will continue to be for the first week of April, I'm hoping to do loads of charity shopping and hopefully getting other cool CDs to showcase next month!
Any ska punk recs? Been getting into the genre lately and I'm on the hunt for some deep cuts
Sweet! Some deep cuts, huh? I'll recommend you a few albums than link some individual songs I enjoy as well.
Less than jake - Pezcore
Choking Victim- No Gods/No Managers [1999]
Who Is, This Is? - Album by Voodoo Glow Skulls
Operation Ivy - Energy (1991)
Losers, Kings, and Things We Don't Understand - Album by Less Than Jake (<- this is a compilation album of 4 of some of their first EPs ever, some of their best stuff in here imo).
if you’d like listening to some deep old cuts from a big-name musician in the scene:
Gimp - Smiles For Macavity
CATCH 22 - Rules of the Game (1997)
aaand then some individual songs I enjoy, all of these bands are great too!
Ska Sucks
Big D and the Kid's Table : Wailing Paddle
Tired Bones
Don Juan
Additionally, if you want stuff on the punkier, crustier side, I definitely recommend some "Crack Rock Steady" bands. They have a very unique ska fusion sound that I love, mainly prioritizing ska-style basslines over all else. Some bands off the top of my head would include:
Positive Junk, No Cash, The Stupid Stupid Henchmen, The Infested, Gang Control, Corrupt Vision, Atrocity Solution, and many more if you look around enough.
You'll definitely be seeing these guys around on this blog. Couldn't recommend them enough if that's your deal :)
Hey Korn and other Nu Metal fans, we just listed some new patches in our shop! Seeing how popular our normal Korn patch is, we messed around with some different variants :) As well as some new ska patches. Ska punk fans, pick it up!! 🏁
If you like these or are interested in our other patches (as well as hats, pouches, and more to come ;)), check out our Depop!
Less Than Jake, Strung Out, & The Raging Nathans in Cincinnati last night, stopping through on Less Than Jake's anniversary run for Hello Rock view (and all timer of a record of there ever was one). Photos by me. Thanks for looking.
I told my dad that my favorite Less Than Jake song is History Of A Boring Town and he said "hmm. That tells me a lot about you." I mean. Yeah but you don't have to say it. Come on dude.
