The owner of this bullshit post was thankfully deactivated (i mean, too bad that s/he couldn't take responsability for the shits s/he says, i wanted to talk "face-to-face" with him/her but now it's impossible), and the reblogs "defending Erik" didn't help in anything. It frustastes me how much the phandom looks weaker when defending Erik. It's not about wishing death to antis (even though they are toxic and even dangerous to other people who "love their enemy"), but letting it CLEAR that the things they say are wrong and hilariously stupid.

The phandom (mostly) loves Erik because he's nothing like this anti described. He was possessive and jeaously? YES HE WAS, and i'm not saying his relantionship with Christine was healthy (at least not 100%). But this person, who by the way seem to have missed the grammar class, describes him as a cruel and manipulative murderer. I wrote a whole blog better than this one explaining how Erik was not a cold-bloody murderer like some antis (and honestly some "phans" too) say. So it's useless to write everything again.

But let's talk about the manipulative. One thing that always bothered me when i watched the Andrew Lloyd's adaptation was Erik being such a liar manipulator, like, he even pretended to be Christine's father. It's not only hilariously unbelievable that a full grown woman would fall into such stupid lies because of a VOICE, but it's also something the original Lerik would never do. Yes, he lied to her about being the angel, but he regrets it deeply, he revealed the truth himself (unlike the musical) because he knew it was wrong and he needed to be close to her as a man. Plus, of course, he would NEVER, in a million lifetimes, pretend to be CHRISTINE'S FREAKING FATHER.

...and Leroux!Christine wouldn't be that dumb to believe him either. Lerik is the one who is easy to manipulate, and Christine uses his feelings to keep him calm and happy when he was with her in the underground. She knew he loved her, she feed that feeling and pretended to respond so she could discover more about him (and because she didn't want to hurt him). Christine is NOT A BAD PERSON, she is kind, foolish, strong and intelligent, but a lot of her actions are questionable the same way Raoul's (mainly) and Erik's are.

So yes, i understand when people are bothered with Merik being much more manipulative than he should be. But let's not forget that neither Merik or Lerik intented to hurt Christine, both of them loved her and regreted the wrong they did to her. And what bothers me so much is when this anti called Erik a rapist and pointed to Love Never Dies as an evidence of this supposed cruelty.

I'm very curious to know which part of his ass s/he found this information. This anti has literally no idea of what a RAPIST is. Rape is when a person forces sex into someone else, and such an abusive, disgusting act of cruelty DESTROYS the victim's life - the fact that we have to explain to antis what rape is and how it affects victims is... tragically disturbing. This person has no idea the consequences of her/him actions, his acusations, his words, literally no idea. You don't need to have more than 2 living neurons to understand Erik IS NOT, NEVER WAS, and doesn't even come CLOSE to a rapist. Imagine calling a perfect victim of physical/emotional/psychological abuse, social phobia, loneliness and emotional disorders a rapist... all because this person was jeaously of her/his crush?

It's hilarious to think someone could be so unscrupulous, irresponsible and obssessed over purity police to an innocent person like that. But yeah, here we are, answering a deactivated garbage post! And really, i tried to watch this "dark and unique" version of Webber's Crap Fanfiction Love Never Dies where Erik rapes or hurts someone, and i didn't find anything. If someone find the treasure that our lord purity-police here is talking about, please, link me? Because it would make me hate LND even more.

What really frustrates me is that Erik phans/stans are afraid of defending him and end up almost agreeing with a disturbed blog like this. He is not a villain, a man beyond redemption, a former MURDERER, a serial kidnapper, an obssessive dangerous stalker... or a romantic hero. He isn't any of these things. He is an anti-hero. A flawed man, fulled of traumas and social frustration, victim of abuse, with absolute lack of love, affection and tenderness, grown up with hatred, humiliation and violence, all of this shit life that made him emotionally instable, afraid of the society and desperate to be loved and accepted.

He was an asshole with Christine many times, no one is trying to deny or justify it. But he's not a bad person for this. He wronged a lot, but he recieved the compassion he needed and deserved from Christine. His toxic behaviour doesn't make him a monster - it's the opposite, he is the one who needed compassion the most. He was a genius, a noble man with a strong heart, but the circunstances of his life "forced him" to be an akward, lonely man that doesn't know how to socializate or express his feelings.

He is NOT capable of doing horrible things like some "phans" said (yeah, phans, not antis), at least not on purpose. He was forced to do gruesome actions in Persia, FORCED, in the place he was tortured and faced terrible traumatic experiences, but this is not his nature. If his mentally/emotionally instability makes him "dangerous", then he needed professional help, and not being called an unredeemable monstrous rapist by some petty anti.

Not thinking about. Henry holding a newborn baby Amelie in his arms and just talking to himself how he’ll make sure that she has all the freedom in the world to do what she wants, and that he would fight tooth and nail to keep her away from his adopted family.

but also more importantly he says that he will do his best to be a genuinely responsible, involved and caring father - to make sure Amelie (and later Rhys) have a good childhood, to make sure they get the chance to grow up into independent human beings with their own dreams and aspirations, without having a hierarchical body leering over them.

It’s also, understandably and a slightly selfish way of him to twist the knife deeper into the heart of the Cooldown Family’s rigid patriarchal system and culture. Yes, it’s undeniably petty to some degree but it’s fucking cathartic for them. It allows him a way to proudly proclaim to a broken system that ‘you don’t own me anymore!' but doing so in a way that has allowed him to take back power and use it to stand up for himself (and those he cares about).

In addition to this, not long after Amelie is born Totally not thinking about Henry and Shallow having a moment where he hugs her and tells her how thankful and grateful he is to not just be a father, but just that he’s genuinely grateful for Shallow’s compassion, companionship and kindness. that's she's so patient with him even with his flaws, misjudgements etc. He is grateful of this chapter in his life where he gets to start afresh (after killing the past haha), a time where he can genuinely be himself and not be defined by a profession, labels, bloodlines etc.

In his moment of genuine actual resolved catharsis, he breaks down crying in Shallow's arms, and she just listens to him pour out his emotions. When he finally calms down she cups his face and just says "You are the most beautifully flawed human being I’ve ever met, and I am so proud of how far you’ve come. No matter what path you take, I will follow you..”

The people of Amity Park, marching across the US, absolutely fuckin livid and done with everything the GIW has ever put them through, from disturbing the peace to attempted genocide, and now they have no amity left, nothing but the people, hurt and dirty and pissed, because goddamn it, that was their home, and now the teenagers and the fentons are leading the charge, because the kids went through puberty in an ectoplasmic marinade, and while ALL of amity are liminal to some degree, the kids and young adults all have it the most, theyre the one's with uncanny perception and strength, talking to plants and tech and being far to flexible or durable, and the whole fenton family is very much liminal, it just too too long for the Drs to realize, but they did, and they listened, and its no excuse for everything that happened, so they're giving it their all, every ounce of energy is going into the facts, the real ones

People have signs, and megaphones, shouting that 'they are people too' and 'they deserve better' 'it's been years, metas have their rights, why dont we?', there are signs, calling for action, pleading for help, sharing stories, listing out the sins of the GIW and the US government, whether it was intentionally malicous or negligent and ignorant of something that 'wasnt real'

It's like everything developed overnight, the figurative internet black hole where amity was gone, the GIW firewalls torn apart, the town that was just another nothing name on a map is here and present and so so pissed

The alpha kids and their specific defiance of both homestucks gendered narrative AND real life societal expectations are so fun to think about to me!! but since we are talking about jake, his specific defiance of both homestucks models of masculinity and femininity in the context of his queerness is like the reason he is my fav character.

He props himself up that he wants to be the adventure "hero" in the homestuck sense (the hardheaded blue femme fatale) and the western media sense (the hardheaded action man) yet whenever pressed to actually act on what he says he always refuses or obfuscates. Because really what he wants is to just be himself! I really love the alpha kids because they all just want to be Themselves, not be restricted and defined by what is expected of them, (all the characters have this but the alphas particularly really hammer this home for me)

The heavy emphasis on their beta selves, the heteronormative archetypes they embodied and what went wrong in their lives that manifest as fears in their alpha selves... im always thinking about it. How differently society affects queer ppls choices in life and then the fact that they all get a second chance and getting to watch them live out that second chance and realize their queerness and them all caring so much abt eachother and wanting to aspire to be better FOR the ones they love!!!!!! it always tugs at my heart strings to ponder😢😢

IM SO GOOD AT GOING ON TANGENTS MY BAD but basically. The alpha kids explicit queerness and how despite the comic itself protesting, they are all shown to be deserving of love (of all kinds) And as a person who super heavily relates to jake, his experience with his own identity (and dirks unending adoration and love for him and likewise jakes belief and admiration of dirk) serves to me as a reminder that yknow! We are all worthy of love!! Even if we dont think ourselves to be (this is just the message of shrek.) and there is always hope to be found in things improving!!!!

But in a text thats explicitly queer and not shy about letting its queer characters do wrong in realistic ways i think this message is incredibly powerful and certainly one of the best things about the comic in my eyes. And i love embracing that in my art of the characters! Drawing queer (but here specifically trans) characters all getting to be proud of themselves and their appearances makes me feel proud of myself alongside them and I think its wonderful to be able appreciate other trans peoples experiences and looks through it too!!

I specifically in homestuck fandom dont really see anybody but twinks (usually dirk or eridan LMFAO) portrayed to be fem in any manner 😢 when jake is the most explicitly feminine man in the comic. (I think the transmisogyny thats kind of rampant in this fandom means people dont want to consider those outside conventional attractiveness being feminine or transfem identities outside binary transwomen if even that😭😭) I am being the change i wana see in the world 🙏 The amount of transfem fat gay bear jake in the world increases by one every time i post

Danny gets more animalistic and ghostly in ghost form over time:

I've always loved the joke "from the day we are born we are slowly dying" and since this guy is half dead, he slowly looks more like a ghost when in his ghost form.

As for the animalistic thing. I dont mean legit growling or purring. I mean him having painted ears that move around and pin back when mad. Maybe a tail (tails are fun for expressing emotions). Pupils that dilate and slit. Stuff like that. He just gets more funky with time.

Constantine and Danny actually get along:

They're both tired, magical, and have seen some shit. If they are both adults when meeting they can be drinking buddies or something idk.

If Constantine met Danny as a teen tho i imagine he wouldn't look down on Danny or get too annoyed with him. He would treat him as an equal. He recognises and magic users are different, and Danny has been dealing with the magical bullshit all alone. This kid deserves some respect damn it! Infact it would be funny if the JL interacted with them at the same time and realized they were actually both really similer. Similer facial expressions and exhausted attitudes.

Danny is just stupidly calm in the face of horrific things:

Danny is more conflicted about where he belongs:

Too alive to be dead, too dead to be alive. Poor guy is practicly the town punching bag and ghosts always target him for what he is. He feels like he never belongs. It should be expressed more often. Like maybe he feels free and happy as Phantom, but he also knows that as Danny he's who his family and friends love and care about. Make him conflicted.

In a dp x dc context. I feel like at first you think he would fit in amoungst the heros. But he's too young to interract with the adult heros, but too experienced and powerful to interact with the younger heros. He struggles to fit in and he has to work through that. That also circles back to the Constantine point. I dont know much about the magic users in dc, but i can image theres a very large veriety of them all ranging in species and age. Alright, I'm going to write my own thoughts down on the situation, sorry if this gets rambly

First of all, Shubble is so brave for speaking up, it's really hard for victims to speak up against there abusers in a public setting and she deserves all the respect in the world for it

That being said we do need to be mindful to give her space, this was a really traumatic thing for her and we all need to be mindful of that, give her room to breath.

On the same lines, don't go after other ccs for not ""releasing statements"", content creators aren't companies, there people. Don't get on at them for not publicly supporting Shubble, especially since there undoubtedly doing it in private, which is probably better than shoving it out there for millions of people to see. Let people support there friend in a way they and shubble are confortable with, if shubble wants them to say something or they think they need to say something themselves, they will say it.

It's like Pearl said, just because you don't see something happening publicly doesn't mean it isn't happening

Also, don't jump to call Tommy or Phil or Grian or anyone else enablers because they haven't said anything, they'll need time to process this too, it's hard to find out that your friend is a domestic abuser, let them process this in piece and don't try to cancel them over nothing like a fool. (People like Tommy will need time especially since Wilbur befriended them when they were young and by all accounts manipulated them too)

If anyone of these people have anything they feel they need to say they'll say it when there good and ready, good life tip folks:Don't Harass People. Also, some brain dead morons are saying that people calling out wilbur are doing it for clout and that they should have done it sooner, but most of the abuse happened in private, and wilbur manipulated others, many wouldn't have realised anything was wrong and if they did its still better and more respectful to come forward after shubble since its HER story to tell.

(This attack also doesn't work anymore because we have things like tubbos stream, where he actively discourages his chat from treating him like a hero for speaking out, but yeah sure they all don't give a shit about shubble and just want to make themselves look better, fuck outta here)

pjo episode four parts that made me scream

Them starting with sally trying teach percy how to swim and percy being scared is fantastic for two reasons: number one, its a normal kid thing and number two it ties into later in the books when we find out percy has a fear of drowning. Its like hoe thalia has a fear of heights and kind of ties into the idea that forbidden children are often afraid of some part of their parents element. I love that theyre bringing in elements of that idea so early!!!

percy’s “can i ask a stupid question” and annabeths “are you trying to make me make fun of you” akdbdkbaaksbdkjsbakks shes so funny

I LOVE THAT THEY BRING UP PAN AND SPECIFICALLY TIE HIM TO MANIFEST DESTINY AND AMERICAS HISTORY OF KILLING ITS INDIGENOUS PEOPLE!!!! ITS IMPORTANT FUCKING HISTORY AND IM SO GLAD THE SHOW ACKNOWLEDGED IT

percy and annabeths little banter, percys stupid accent and then him collapsing on her. That and the scene where theyre talking on the train is the percabeth we deserve!!!!!! God i love them so much

ALSO going back to the scene where theyre talking in bed on the train i love how annabeth knows that grovers grumpy in the morning and percy doesnt. Grover was her protector once too!! (Like they said last episode) and theyve traveled together before!! He was annabeths friend before he was percys

ok everyones already said this but the parallels between annabeth and medusa?!!??? With medusa saying “i was you” last episode and now annabeth getting punished for something percy did ghe same was medusa was punished for something Poseidon did????? Absolutely insane i love it

also the fact that it hurt athenas pride specifically, much like how medusa mentioned the “pride of athena” in reference to annabeth last episode, which all ties back to the fact that hubris is annabeths fatal flaw and she gets it from her mother

THE CUT TO PERCY IN THE FOUNTAIN AND THEM SPLASHING WATER ON HIM AHSKSBJAHAJSJSB theyre so funny for that

Percy just looks like a wet rag this episode and its so well done you can even tell the makeup on his face was done to make him appear paler and sicklier and it works so well

ok PERCY PULLING ANNABETH INTO THE STAIRWELL AND SHUTTING THE DOOR???? Because hes loyal to a fault!!!! And theyre becoming friends!!!!!!!!! And he cares about her more in like a week than athena ever has and its shown to us so clearly in this episode!!!!!!

ONCE AGAIN LUKES MOTIVATIONS ARE GOING TO MAKE SO MUCH SENSE BY THE TIME WE GET TO THE END OF THIS AND WE DONT EVEN HAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH HIM TO UNDERSTAND THEM god this series is so well done

Also the chimeras design looks so cool i love it so much

AND WE FINALLY GET AN ANSWER AS TO HOW PERCY GOT IN THE RIVER FROM THE TOP OF THE ARCH!! (At least in the tv world, in the book world the arch might very well just be in a different spot lol)

OK LAST THING is that they are continuing the theme sally brings up about monsters not always looking like monsters and heroes not always looking like heroes so well!!! Echidna bringing it up and saying that to her, demigods are more dangerous was fantastic i love how dedicated they are to this

OK ACTUALLY THE LAST THING i love the dichotomy of different mothers in this episode. We start with sally and percy and immediately see how much they love each other and care about each other!!!! Then we get to echidna who cares about her children too by teaching them to hunt!!! And then we get athena who ducking punishes annabeth for something she didnt even do. And its like. That was a little monstrous athena. Im understanding why someone might want to kill their godly parent
