I have to admit I never even imagined witches to be evil until I came here on tumblr and read some of y'alls analysis of literature and other media. The whole evil laugh and brewing potions did not connect to being evil in my mind ever. I was just raised with everyone around me thinking witches were cool as hell.

#my grandmother used to tell me that she was a witch and that her daughters and also me were ones too #and tbh i believed that bc she used to take the pain away with her magic #which was just her hovering her hand above the painful place #and istg it worked every time be it placebo or the #im not going to explain the neural pathways that make thermal and tactile sensations lessen the pain #but its a thing #and all my aunts liked witchy stuff #they made runes on pebbles by painting the sigil with a nailpolish on them #my grandmother also told the future by regular playing cards #i was taught the thing where you hold a necklace and ask a question and if it swings one way its yes the other - no #both my mom and grandmother have had at some point protective spells in their wallets #my grandmother always made a protective spell on us when we were leaving #i was taught to always greet and thank the mother of forest when going mushroompicking/collecting berries #me and my younger aunts (i had 5 year difference with the youngest) were always up to some weird stuff #like you know lighting a candle by the window and repearing a phrase to see how your fated one will look like #a lot of things in midsummer with flower crowns were done for luck or once again to predict the future #oh and the whole holding a metal object that started turning in your hand when you went above underground water junction #there were. a lot of things. #oh and we even collaborated with ghosts #and we had two completely black cats when i was little #and i remember i once found a part of an animal skull on the ground and i felt overjoyed #so yeah thats how i never even imagined witches could be evil #until late teens

If the ROs could get a (new) tattoo, would they? What would they get and where?

Merry: she would get a new tattoo just for fun. i like to think she has a few funky stick and poke tattoos that her and Mal have done on each other, and other crew mates, too. otherwise Merry tends towards more traditional tattoos that are symbolic of her favored gods as well as old seafaring superstitions & traditions. a few tattoos for her that i always envision (but haven't drawn bc i'm lazy) are an anchor, a noose, a sparrow, a few mermaids/sirens, a ship's wheel, a couple of runes and sigils here and there, a few dates that are significant to her, & a wolf representing one of the wolfmother's children.

Lea: i've actually gone back and given Lea some alchemical tattoos though I have yet to edit some of the scenes in game where they would come up... but Lea has a few, mainly on their hands and arms specifically for transmuting and potion-making. Lea doesn't really do a lot of transmuting but it's mostly for working with specific ingredients and conjuring the potions themselves. they would not get any kind of "fun" tattoo, their tattoos are only for their work.

Clementine: they would love to get more floral tattoos. the wings they have on their back & arms was a huge piece that took them a few years to finish, but they would get a few smaller flowers here and there. they have a few already on their hips and a bundle of wildflowers on their thigh.

Noel: the only one that doesn't have any tattoos!! xe would love to come along with you but xe would be nervous getting one xemself. i do think xe would go for it though, and get something really small and in a place where only xe would see it (like inner forearm or inner calf kind of place) but i also think xe would still want something really vibrant. maybe xir favorite fruit, or favorite flower, or a butterfly with wings that are all xir favorite colors.

#merry's sigils and runes are for show/tradition (think like prayers) whereas lea's are for function #but clem and noel don't have any of those kinds of tattoos #clem doesn't really have a connection with the gods and noel actively avoids it lmfao #and neither of them have functional use for them like lea does #but runes and sigils like that are a pretty common tattoo subject #along with flora and fauna and wildlife #and other imagery associated with the gods #like wolves and sea lions and jackals and crows etc #tho crows can also be bad luck depending where you are and ppl with tattoos of them could be considered cursed.... #anyways. bye #merry harlowe #lea chen #clementine #noel lykaon #ask #anonymous #wow i messed up noel's pronouns so bad if you saw that no you didn't

#⇢₊˚⊹ 🩷∥ruby∥yo，ide yo !! #i have almost 2 million mora just off exploration #all the better to fund my journey to triple crowned lyney #also i'm sitting at tree of dreams level 30 right now #since i'm not getting any dream solvent from weeklies #i figured i should just farm dendro sigils and get 1 dream solvent plus a bow billet for a guaranteed r1 #also also #since i got sayu on main while trying to pull for freminet #(yeah risky move i know. but i have no self-control okay. plus i'm still at like 20-ish pity and i'm on a 50/50) #(anyways.) #i've been using her in my exploration team obviously. and i've been leveling her so she can be an actual healer at the same time #so once again i need maguu kenki drops. which i was dreading #but i took my lyney team to fight it #and oh boy #it was almost /easy/ #i think it took less than a minute to beat. which is a first for me #and this is with 5/4/4 talents and 2pc 2pc berserker/glad and a level 80 ibis piercer #(granted his supports are actually fairly well-built which helps a ton but still) #(also jsyk im just using the ibis piercer while i grind to get midlander bow billets okay. i obviously know its not a great weapon for him) #(and i don't have to say anything about my marechaussee luck i hope) #tangent，but i tested out teams in the sumeru weapon mats domain because i honestly forgot what was in there #and turns out that just benny and kazu are enough to clear it. yeah. just the two of them. lyney didn't even have a chance to deal damage #on the one hand，that's great for friendship farming. on the other hand，bruh.

Luck & Prosperity Spell Jar

I made this spell to help my roommate and I find new jobs, and it's helped out more of my friends since then, so I figured I should share it here!

Ingredients

A small jar

The sigil below, on a small piece of paper

A green candle

Rice (any kind should do, I used white rice)

Sandalwood powder

Bloodstone chips

Garnet chips

A coin (I used a quarter)

The Sigil

The Process

Place all the ingredients, except for the coin and candle, inside the jar. The sigil should be included here, rolled up or folded if you prefer. I'm not including measurements here, mostly because I didn't measure things out.

Once all the ingredients are in the jar, cap it and use the green candle to seal it with wax.

After sealing the jar, use the wax to attach it to the coin.

I charged my jar in the sunlight before my roommate's and my job interviews, so I recommend charging under the sun as well.

Here's how mine looks:

My hands were a bit shaky, so it's not the prettiest, but it's been working wonders for my friends and me. If you try it, I wish you the best!

Sorry for taking time to anwer your question. I don't know how easy you want so I'm ging to give you a few option, alright? To mak a luck spell, I'd have a few different approaches:

The first, "easiest" one, would also be the one that would last the shortest without a more "complicated" build around it. It would be a sigil. If you're not familiar with the concept of sigils, you grab a word, sentence or general intent, pull certain letters out, and make a symbol with the remaining ones. This sigil can be charged and activated with different methods, but let me link you a post about it: The (witch) dump — Ways To Use Sigils Masterpost (tumblr.com)

Now, second option would be to make a spelljar/spellbottle, and fill it with items you identify with luck. Personnally, I associate luck to green for example (for the four-leaves clover) and to things found at random on the way somewere etc, so I'd use maybe a rock found on the sid of the road, beach sand and clovers etc, but that's up to you and what you personally identify with luck. Of course, to each their way of making their spelljar, but I like to ennunciate my intent and prepare my space when I'm making one.

Now the third option would be to make yourself a amulet. For that, I'd use a combination of symbols and sigils that would be engraved or drawn on an aobject that I would carry on myself whenever I needed the extra luck. For the sigils, you can use your luck-drawing one, but also one that would bind the luck to your object, and potentially a "charger" sigil if like me you're forgetful and can't be assed to charge you own spells yourself most of the time. To make it, you could use the sentence "the energy I spend (while wearing this) goes into charging the sigils on this amulet" for example.

I hope it helps, and of course, remember this is only a series of methods I'd use to draw luck to myself, and that there are many other ways to perform luck spells. I hope you're having a good ay or night, and take care of yourself!

#inscryption #kaycee's mod #skull storm daily #high cost deck #think i'm obsessed with these high cost runs but like. really the only ones i'm winning are these ones where i get a good elk totem early on #this one i got an elk-searcher totem- a BLAST to play #major highlights included goobert blessing me not once but TWICE giving me not only a buffed dire wolf but also fercundity black goat #as in replaced the annoying sigil with fercundity #honestly really startled that goobert has changed a sigil on an annoying card it's been the annoying sigil changed literally every time #i don't know if that's wild luck or what but that's been a godsend i would give goobert's bottle a kissy if i could #also i gave that original dire wolf that goobert buffed a copy of to my grizzly so i had a double strike grizzly. even buffed it to 5 power #picked that card every time i wanted to win early #also bonus advice for high cost deck: you probably don't have to get rid of your mole so long as you sac a magpie onto it or something #that's what i've done both the runs i won #just search for the black goat you need #hmm what else what else #oh yeah i got a REALLY nice elk from a trial that had touch of death AND bi-strike #literally guaranteed wins for all the bosses even without items #because. yknow. elk-searcher totem #another trial gave me morsel field rat with something else i don't remember which was funny; even showed up in my final boss attack #ooooooh and i racked up enough teeth thanks to my grizzly to get a myco'd child 13 just before the end- which i gave 3-blood sigil onto #child 13 also just so happens to be in the elk tribe ;) #literally became a better black goat which was fun #blew past map 3 boss and final boss Easily thanks to that little guy #oh- i actually remembered to take a pic of my deck just before the end that i could show somewhere if you like #nothing really notable outside the cards i mentioned but it's here #fun times anyway
