Outlaws of Thunder Junction Side Story Review
No Tells: I knew there had to be some indigenous species, and cactus people certainly count. Also, narrator dude, you ran away before the first sign of danger, that makes you a coward. There are ways of leaving without disappearing with money.
On the bright side, this story confirms it's been more than a year since the Phyrexian Invasion. That doesn't really explain how all the infrastructure of Thunder Junction got built, but I guess having magic makes building trains easier.
Blood Is Thicker Than Venom: Ms. Annie Flash, you couldn't even kill a couple rattlewurms without feeling guilty. You are NOT an outlaw. Glad to see your nephew is doing well; I was worried we were gonna have a morphine addiction subplot going there for a second. Also, I hope we get to meet your people someday.
A Long Way From Home: Nashi is the best boy. He's trying his best and we love him for that. The revelation that story magic is basically watching someone do something, then doing that yourself is kinda hilarious. I hope we see more of Nashi (and Obeka) in the future.
A Pleasant Family Outing: Gisa & Geralf VS

Tried out a Lime Against Humanity deck on Brawl today... first match was against a completely different Lime Against Humanity deck. I won, but in some way we both lost

There's a bunch of people on Magic Arena that are playing decks of nothing but removal and annoyance cards and when they're obviously in a no-win situation they just stop playing and let the timer run down (I'm assuming to make their opponent get annoyed and concede) and honestly. Do you people enjoy not having fun??

god not to rant about a random youtube video but i saw someone claim that every single mtg alchemy card could be printed in paper and like, what the fuck, you absolutely cannot.
like okay there's maybe a couple that you feasibly could print, but just conjure/perpetual/seek (and variations thereof) already cover a full 80% of current alchemy cards. those three mechanics are all completely undoable in paper, which should be obvious to anyone who's thought about it for more than a minute.
and even among the remaining 20%, the grand majority of those cards have serious problems with hidden information, memory issues, and just plain inconvenience/tedium. like, these cards are digital-only for a reason. (and yeah, sure, you could theoretically errata some of the cards or mechanics to a version that works in paper — but then what's even the point?)
