Not to talk about the watcher thing again as I’ve already kind of said my piece, but one of the most batshit insane parts of this whole unbelievable situation is that for some reason they decided that for some fucking reason the BEST time to announce this highly controversial decision was literally DAYS before they would be going on an international tour and having to face irate fans IN PERSON. Guys. What the hell. At least have the sensibility to announce a move that you HAD to have known would make people upset AFTER one of the few times you actually interact in person with your fanbase.

I hope you’re ready to investigate the Tower of London for ghosts, because I have a feeling the Londoners will be more than happy to acquaint you with the building later this week.

here are all the recs I posted for femslash february 2024...! each individual rec post can be found in my femslash feb recs tag. I actually thought I wasn't going to be able to do this because work got super chaotic, but in the end I couldn't bear to skip out on a leap year. that's a whole extra day for yuri.

last year I focused on official releases, so this year I wanted to focus on series that aren't technically officially available (plus a french-japanese film). fan translations are always a dicey for artists/translators/publishers/etc because obviously they need to get paid... but yuri's already such an overlooked genre that—in an official capacity—we end up with a couple drops from what's already a pretty small pool. I read hana to hoshi about a decade ago, and I keep submitting it to the seven seas survey for licensure! and yet!! no dice. and even when there are official releases, sometimes they just... disappear!? wish you were gone was licensed and then taken down, so for a while the only way to read it (if you missed out on buying it) was the fan translation. I think it's important to support artists and official releases, and also, to appreciate the thankless endeavor(/crime) of scanlation.

They can carry more weight and cargo, they’re comfortable over long distances, and they don’t require you to wear sporty bike gear because you don’t even need to sweat while riding one if you don’t want to.

That’s the market every bike company is missing when they make and market e-bikes. People who are looking for a practical, comfortable, and useful vehicle.

The gray bars are the percentage of time bitcoin spent trading in each price range.  The price distribution is fairly normally distributed.  Most of the time at or near trend.  A little bit of time super-cheap and a little bit way above trend.

The gold bars show the percentage of inflows in each valuation bucket.  The inflows are very skewed – massively pro-cyclical.  Very little inflows when bitcoin is extremely weak.  Very few investors wanted to buy when bitcoin was trading at or below 37 cents on the trend dollar.

On the flipside, there have been very large inflows when it’s trading well above its trend.  The majority of the money has come in well into the rallies.

If a stock does not pay a dividend (cash flow) then why would the value go up? Is this the same way that we are going to value multifamily assets going forward. With no cash flow? Is this a new paradigm shift in the multifamily space or are we facing a future market decline in prices?

My point here is that if cap rates continue to compress, then multifamily will stop cash flowing and we will need to value these assets the same way that we value stocks that do not pay dividends. What will this method of valuing real estate look like? I don’t know but it won’t have anything to do with cash flow as a metric. People will pay more for the assets…just because?

Does the fact that coyote numbers resurgence so quickly make them a good fur to use? For ecological reasons, it seems like you could harvest many of them without causing any damage to their numbers if you know what I mean? Or does it make it worse since they make up their numbers so fast

The issue is more the attitudes people have towards coyotes which leads to indiscriminately killing them without any concern on how it effects the population. Coyotes are an abundant species, but many of the people killing them do it without the intent to use the remains. If trade of coyote fur was more regulated then yes, I think it would be a good wild fur option, but unfortunately many of the usable hides are wasted because coyotes are considered "pests".

#the amount killed every year combined with the fact people are unwilling to use thier fur is what makes it unsustainable #the anti-fur agenda hurts them a lot as well #like coyotes are not highly regarded in thr fur market #so the first hides thrown away are coyotes because their not valued as much as other species #which gives people less incentive to use thier fur #and the cycle continues of them being killed and not used #ask
