F1 drivers as hockey players
Max : center — my first instinct for Max was wing but it’s hard not to compare him with either McDavid or Matthews, except he gets way more PIM than the two of them (less and less as time goes)
Checo : defense - this one writes itself, mister minestry of defense, def always has a place on PK1, will block a ton of shots just like my beloved EJ
Charles : center — I will take no criticism for that one, the bossy vibes from Jonny Toews (Jonny has been getting fucked by Chicago’s management for years, same as Charles with the Ferrari strategists) but Charles gets the Calder
Carlos : wing — you’ve seen this man play football, he’s crafty and talented, dishes assists but can also finish, thinking Pasta or Mitchy Marner or love of my life Mikko Rantanen
George : defense — I swear I’m not going to put every tall guy in D but listen : Cale Makar trajectory, quarterback of PP1, Calder and Norris and Conn Smythe trophy winner
Lewis : center — tell me Lewis is not the Sidney Crosby of F1, that’s it, that’s my full reasonning here
Esteban : center — two-way forward, good at both ends of the ice, I’ll give you Patrice Bergeron as reference (will also accept D as an option here)
Fernando : goalie — look, I know he’s small and would swim in his goalie pads but he’s sturdy and crazy enough to be a goalie, because he’s been here forever, Tukka Rask will be our point of reference
Lando : wing — talented winger who was overviewed in the first round of the draft because of his size but he proves everybody wrong with a 30+ goals season in his 3rd year, think Alex Debrincat
Daniel : wing — I struggled with Daniel because I think he could play any position but the idea of him on Max’s wing really appealed to me, would definitely pull moves in shootouts, let’s go TJ Oshie, he fits the vibes
Valterri : goalie — listen, I just vibe with the idea of it, think maybe Pekka Rinne, also Finnish, I will find Valterri a twink who will call him daddy, that’s not an issue (please tell me who do you think our Juuse Saros could be)
Zhou : wing — crafty winger, speedy with the funny moves, he would try the Michigan against everyone and you know it, a Trevor Zegras (in spirit, although Z did play wing too in the past)
Kevin : defense — steady sturdy d-man, gives me Duncan Keith in his prime
Mick : wing — look, I know Michael would be Gretzky but I bring to you : the Schumacher/Tkachuk comparison and Mick as Matthew, don’t tell me Mick in his villain era wouldn’t get hella PIM while scoring hella points
Pierre : center — Pierre screams forward to me and I’ll have him at center, the idea of him and Charles centering the first two lines of a team and being on the PP together is pretty to me, I think bitchy Pierre could challenge bitchy Geno but in terms of style he’s probably more of a Nico Hischier
Yuki : defense — Sam Girard, just imagine Yuki doing the tornade, yes, perfect, that’ll be it
Sebastian : center — I could see current Sebastian as a goalie but Red Bull/villain Seb was definitely a forward who would win the Art Ross/Hart/Ted Lindsay in one year and play on a broken ankle in the playoffs like one fellow countryman Leon Draisaitl (which means I also accept winger as a position)
Lance : wing — I do not know what to do with Lance so I put him at wing, maybe he can be like a 3rd liner or a 4th liner grinder, he gets Garnet Hathaway
Alex : defense — Alex/George d-pair!!! they would be so good, Heddy would never die his hair red but think of Alex as Victor Hedman kind of solid
Nicky : center — the fact that I struggled with the Canadians of the grid is terrible, sorry hockey, but he can grind with Lance, Nic Dowd it is

My ranking of all the husbands from The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo from best to worst, excluding Celia because it’s obvious that she was the true love of Evelyn’s life.
1.) Harry: Self explanatory. Great guy. Great dad. Great friend. 10/10
2.) Rex: He was a pretty good guy too. Maybe not as close of a friend to Evelyn as Harry was, but still a nice guy. I would love to know more about him and Joy Nathan though. They sound cute together. 10/10
3.) Robert: Nice guy and we love a good ally. I thought it was nice that he helped Connor find her passion for Wall Street and finance. Pretty chill but also nothing too special at the same time. 9/10
4.) Ernie: Also not too special. Boring dude. Also generally creeped me out for marrying someone who was a child (and before everyone comes at me about Evelyn lying about her age, she said she was sixteen and he still went “cool”). I’m happy he found love with Betty and had his eight kids though. 7/10
5.) Max: This is the point on my list where the husbands get shittier and shittier and my rankings are going to get meaner. Max was simply a dick. Nothing else. As Evelyn said, he only married her for something to brag about instead of seeing her as a valuable person, or just a person in general. Also, trying to put her? Yeah, severely dislike him. 5/10
6.) Don: What. A. Fucking. Shithead. He was for abusing Evelyn and then Ruby. But I will say, as someone who’s passionate about psychology and an advocate for breaking the stigma of people who struggle with addiction and alcoholism, his somewhat redemption and sobriety near the end made me feel sorry for him and I was glad to see him better. Sure, I said he used to be a shithead and there’s no excuse for that, but I also wouldn’t kill him if I knew him in real life. 3/10
7.) Mick: I cannot express my hatred for this dude. Shitty husband, shitty friend, shitty father. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo only gives a glimpse of his jackassery, but Malibu Rising paints a better picture of what a shithead he is. —♾/10

"they are just husbands. i am evelyn hugo."
a blog by chloe denise nunag of bs psy 2a.
taylor jenkins reid is an american author, well known for her works like daisy jones & the six, malibu rising, after i do, and most notably, the seven husbands of evelyn hugo.
the seven husbands of evelyn hugo is one of the most treasured pieces of literature in the book community. but what is it about, really?
Tumblr media
this is a peek into tshoeh, an unbiased and non-spoiling review to get you to read it as well.
for a short background, the seven husbands of evelyn hugo is centered on hollywood movie icon, evelyn hugo. decades have passed since her peak and golden days, and now, she is finally ready to let the public in on the truth about her rather scandalous (love) life.
scandalous, how? well, as the title indicates, hugo married seven times in her life, and this has been a hot topic among the people for years and counting.
with this, monique grant, a journalist for a prestigious magazine, is contacted for a sit-down with hugo. now, hugo has never done exclusive interviews throughout her career, especially not about her private life. so for grant, this could be the scoop that will boost her position in the company and change her career forever.
hugo tells grant about each of her marriages in detail from the first to the last, and grant listens and takes careful note of each one. however, as the book progresses, one would realize that it is not simply a coincidence that hugo personally chooses grant to write her biography.
why?
well, that's reason number one for you to pick up a copy and start diving into hugo's vibrant life.
the story in itself is captivating, but the characters you will definitely fall in love with; evelyn hugo is complex and sometimes morally gray, not often by choice as she was only ever navigating her way through the messy hollywood scene. she is the personification of the idea that is beauty and brains: beautiful, sexy, smart, sensual and ambitious. but she is also mean and calculating, having used people to get what she wanted.
and i'd talk about her seven husbands in detail, but as this review is spoiler-free, i will describe them the way hugo did; poor ernie diaz, goddamn don adler, gullible mick riva, clever rex north, brilliant, kindhearted, tortured harry cameron, disappointing max girard, and agreeable robert jamison.
then, there is also celia st. james, another one of the most famous actresses of hollywood's golden age alongside hugo. being "america's sweetheart", st. james intimidates hugo with her talent in acting, which sparks a rivalry between the two.
of course, there is monique grant. she is charismatic, driven, and like hugo, ambitious. she is a commendable black woman in journalism, consistently standing out for her works, notably for her piece on the right to die.
and that's reason number two for you to grab a copy, physical or virtual.
lastly, aside from the story and the characters, taylor jenkins reid has a way with words that will engulf you in hollywood's golden age and the present time. she stripped bare the movie industry, and she will make you question the truth about the celebrities we know and the lives they present to the public.
she will also make feel a (crazy) range of emotions. one second, you love evelyn hugo, then you hate her the next. reid will make you laugh, then cry. you will be filled with fury with the actions and words hugo leaves, then feel for her and the things she has to go through.
then, there are also the newspaper articles and letters from the past, as well as the features of the present.
more importantly, it is real and raw in a sense that it shows the reality of life and love—how it's never easy, how it's not as glamorous as presented in other forms of media; life is full of twists we never expect, and love will consume you alive.
ultimately, the book was structured and written in a manner that will leave you wondering about what comes next until you are just incapable of putting it down.
yes, that's reason number three of why you need to get into tshoeh as soon as you can.
overall, i can say that the seven husbands of evelyn hugo left me with no words. but at the same time, i have a million things to say. when i first read it, i completed it in one sitting. it was 4 in the morning when i bawled as quietly as i could as to not wake up and alarm the other people in the house.
it's that good.
so, it's your move now. (cmon, put tshoeh in your shopping cart, and check it out Right Now.)

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo-- starring Neymar as Evelyn Hugo and Leo Messi as Celia St. James. Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos as Harry Cameron and John Braverman respectively. Ik Ney/Luka is hardly a ship, but the characters fit well. Ernie Diaz can be Ganso, and Ronaldinho can be Don Adler. Richarlison as Mick Riva. Zlatan can be Rex North, and Gerard Pique can be the mistress, Joy, because of that one Zlatan x Gerard photo that made waves in the media. Kylian Mbappe is Max Girard, because of the Paris connection. Kun Aguero or Luis Suarez can be Robert Jamieson. Ivan Rakitic can be Luka/Harry's lover, James Grant, and Monique can be one of the younger players like Gavi or Pedri or Camavinga
i looooove the seven husbands of evelyn hugo i can't believe it's netflix who got the rights to make a MOVIE instead of a series with an episode for each spouse that would've been sm better
