Third Person POV
Athena has been with Benny for four months, and yet all they did to this day was hold hands, share kisses, and cuddle. Now, Benny wasn't a pushy guy. She didn't want to get intimate or whatever, that was fine! He wasn't needy like that. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable, so he went at her pace. It's just...sometimes, he was confused. She seemed so fine one second, and then someone would snap, or yell or say something, and she'd go all tense and quiet, and he would wonder, not for the first time, if she was possibly hiding some dark secret. He wanted her to trust him. And she did, but...not with whatever was hurting her. He understood, but...it hurt.
Lately, he's been asking the vampires about Athena. Had they noticed anything different? Was she acting weird, or was it just him? "Don't push her," Jesse told Benny one day at lunch as Athena stood in line with Ethan and Sarah. "She'll tell you when she's ready. One of my biggest mistakes was pushing Sarah." He added. "That's why I lost her." "Oh. Okay." Benny said as the other three approached.
He spent the next few days sort of...analyzing Athena. If someone yelled, he watched her body language. He didn't mean to treat her like a science experiment, she was just worrying him.
One day, two jocks got in a fight. They were arguing pretty loudly when Jesse, Erica, Benny, and Athena left Math, right there in the hall, and were throwing insults back and forth. Now, usually, nobody would bother, but everyone in the hall felt that it would get violent in under ten seconds, so a girl ran to get the staff, and the taller one suddenly shoved the shorter one into the locker, and he tripped into the metal, slamming into Athena, knocking her to the ground with a slam that echoed painfully in Benny's ears.
At that point, Jesse snarled, shoving the two struggling humans apart as Athena scrambled to her feet and bolted, shoving past the crowd and nearly knocking another girl into the lockers. Benny, though he wanted to go after her, knew he had to let her breathe, and started helping Jesse separate the jocks, still shouting at one another, until teachers swarmed the hallway, pulling them apart. "Where's Athena?" Sarah gasped, eyes wide. "This way!" Erica called, running down the hall at human speed. The others shared glances and followed her into the closest closet.
She was in the corner, knees to her face, crying. "Athena!" Benny pushed past a startled Erica. No one had seen her cry, not like this. "Hey, hey, what--" He flinched as her hands flew up, pushing at him, and she whimpered, "Don't--don't touch me."
"Hey, it's me!" Benny blinked, hurt. She glanced up, and Benny's heart twisted. Her eyes were red and puffy, and she had claw marks on her cheeks, flushed pink, from her nails. "What happened?" Sarah asked. Jesse grabbed Sarah's arm. "Let's give them a minute, okay?" He asked, eyes checking Athena over. As the girls left the closet, he asked, "You okay, Thena?" She nodded. "Thank you," She whispered. Jesse smiled softly and told Benny, "We'll be right outside." He left, shutting the door carefully so it didn't slam.
"I'm sorry." Athena whispered, rubbing her sweaty hands on her jeans. "It's okay. What...what happened, why'd you freak so bad?" He asked. "Does it scare you when that happens?" He wondered. "Sort of?" She hedged. At his curious look, she sighed. "I had an ex. Remember me telling you about Jay?" She wondered, and he nodded. "Yeah, you said you broke up with him because it didn't work out." He recalled. "It didn't, because...he used to hurt me. He would...hit me a lot, and he'd call me names. He was really abusive and controlling, and now, because of him, if something happens--a fight too close, too much yelling, something resembling anger--I freak and have a panic attack." She said softly. Benny's eyes widened. "What?" He asked in a voice that made Athena wish she'd never opened her mouth. "Who...who'd hurt you, you're an awesome person!" He nearly yelled. She flinched. "I'm sorry, please..." She whispered.
"No, no, no, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He whispered, reaching forwards, and stopped. "Can I hug you?" "Of course!" She said, wrapping her arms around Benny. She sunk into his arms. For every time she remembered Jay's harsh words or fists, Benny was there to chase it all away.
Outside the closet, Erica's eyes watered. "I never knew." She whispered, leaning against the wall. Sarah blinked, and a tear traced her cheek. "I don't think any of us did." She whispered, eyes flicking to Jesse's. The older vampire was glaring down the hall. "I'm gonna kill him." "No." The voice said, and the door opened. "Please, don't." Athena whispered, rubbing her still-pink cheeks dry of tears. "He hurt you, so let me kill him." Erica promised. "Guys, no. Just...stay with me. I need you guys here with me." Athena whispered, eyes watering again. "Okay. We can stay." Jesse sighed. Athena smiled. "Thank you." She turned to Benny, hiding her face in his striped hoodie. For a moment, Benny looked a little scary. His face was cold and flat, and his eyes were almost black. "You, uh...look a little...different," Sarah hedged. He glanced at her. "I...I'm taking her home." He grabbed Athena's hand and led her down the hall. Once they were gone, Sarah smiled. "I know where he lives." Erica and Jesse looked at her. "We're going hunting. Tonight." She snarled, stalking down the hall. Erica grinned, and Jesse laughed.

Blackened Angel - Part 2
Summary: After realizing that Rory and Erica are in danger, Alyssa goes to her Uncle V and asks him to help her, and he gives her something more valuable than a gun. After she manages to save a couple of her new friends, Alyssa gets into some trouble and is punished for her reckless actions. The next day, JJ convinces her to go to a screening of Dusk, and the two of them get involved in a much more serious matter.
Warnings: Near death experiences, swearing, violence
Alyssa practically kicked in the door to the house as she walked in and looked around in a fit of rage.
"Vitale!" she yelled, scanning the living room and study before hearing the familiar metal on wood. She turned around to face the tattooed summoner who was standing behind her, looking very irritated and tired.
"Do you have any idea what time it is?" he asked irritably, but she waved her hand in a dismissive manner. She walked over to him and showed him the photo on her cell phone, and he scowled. "It's a photo of a girl all on her own. This concerns me…why?"
"She's at a vampire party." she said bluntly, which actually got his attention.
"I see you've also awakened your powers." he commented with a glance at her hair, but she growled in frustration.
"Not the point! I have to go over there and help her and my friend Rory get out of here. I can't do it on my own." she said before he sighed and nodded as he led her back into the study.
"Very well." he put his cane down on the desk before grabbing his spell book. "You may be in need of a loyal companion to assist you in this… a spell I haven't used in years…" he admitted as her expression softened.
"What do you mean? All of your familiars died at the hands of my father." she said firmly, but he held up a hand. As he used his magic to clean her, she moved closer to him and took off her jacket. She scowled as a smirk came to his face and he gently grabbed her arm before he quietly recited something. Alyssa watched as ink slowly began to form on her skin and she felt something extremely powerful cling to her. As V pulled his hand away, her eyes widened as she watched the ink move up her arm, stopping at her chest.
"You are now bound to the Shadow," he said with a smile as she stared at him. "This one is sworn to your protection alone, bound by your soul and blood. If anything happens to it, you'll suffer the consequences. So be very careful." he explained before Alyssa raised her arm and summoned the jaguar, which materialized out of what seemed to be sand and landed on the ground with a loud roar.
"Holy…" she started, but V glared at her before she could curse. "I was gonna say cow."
"Of course you were." he rolled his eyes at her before he shook his head and grabbed his cane. "Get the Deluded Rune. You'll need more power than you currently have… you're still in 'awakening', so you're not strong enough to use any powers yet."
"Right." she muttered, frowning. "Do you know where dad went?"
"He's on a mission a few towns over." he called as he left the study. "And stop kicking my door open."

"Why are you stealin' your daddy's bike again?" Nico asked, throwing the keys to Alyssa as she got on the bike and started it up.
"I'm not 'stealing' it, Nico. I'm borrowing it." she explained as she rolled her eyes. "My new stupid friends have gotten themselves into a hell of a mess."
"You called them your friends!" Nico exclaimed triumphantly. "Lady owes me 10 bucks."
"You did not bet on my private life…" Lyss muttered, glaring at the gunsmith. "You know what? Whatever. I just have to get to a party, save a friend, and hopefully kill some damn vampires." she shrugged her shoulders before Nico nodded in agreement.
"Never thought you'd end up killin' vampires." she smiled as Alyssa shrugged and pulled out of the garage.
She kept her eyes on the road and grimaced a little as she felt her powers begin to show themselves. As she drove towards where she thought the house was, she managed to keep them at bay. Rory said that it was a big mansion, and she could only think of a handful of them up there in the hills. She had a pretty good idea where it was because they overlooked the office. She checked her watch and swore under her breath when she realized that it was almost midnight, she sped up to get there in time.
Lyss got off the bike and made her way to the gates, growling angrily before kicking the metal several times, forcing it open. She drew her sword and started towards the house. She paused at the front door, realizing it was locked as midnight approached. Shooting the doorknob, she kicked in, summoning The Shadow as the vampires stared at her in shock. Rage began to bubble up inside her as she realized that Erica and Rory were already on the floor.
"Daughter of Dante." Jesse said as he stared at the girl with what almost seemed to be a look of astonishment.
"Drink it up, baby. Because this is the last fucking face you'll ever see." she snapped, shooting several vampires as they shrieked and began to disintegrate. As the boys panicked and moved away from her, Shadow roared and attacked a few others, tearing them to pieces.
"Wes told me you were weak." Jesse snapped in anger as Lyss turned her gun on him.
"The delivery boy? Yeah. He's dead." she snapped before pulling Sarah behind her, turning to look at the boys. "Let's go." she said before more of the vampires tried to stop them. Shadow growled and jumped in front of Lyss, startling them at the sight of the demon. She forced the group out of the house, calling out for Shadow as the jaguar ran after her. They ran out of the house and made a beeline for the gate.
"What happened?" Ethan asked, looking at the twisted and nearly broken gate as Shadow ran in front of them and bit another vampire, causing him to scream in pain as she used him as a chew toy.
"I got mad and kicked the gate in." Lyss admitted, running as more vampires appeared. Alyssa stabbed one in the chest and threw him aside. She yelled at the others as they backed away from her. The boys turned on their makeshift lightsabers and continued to scare the vampires away as Lyss led them to the car, head-butting one of them that got too close. She grimaced at the pain, and with a grunt she returned Shadow to the ink as she ran to her bike. "Just go!" she yelled at the others before steering in front of the group to keep the vampires at bay as they sped away.
Alyssa turned around and raced back to her home as a couple of vampires chased after her, frustrating her in the process. She turned into the woods and took a detour to throw them off her trail, jumping back onto the road as she flipped off the vampires that stopped. She drove down the road with a laugh and a smile on her face. It was a great feeling to finally let herself go and act a little bit crazy. When she saw Trish waiting for her in front of the office, she felt the happiness fade. She was afraid of her father's punishments, but he had always been a little more lenient with her, because he wanted to give her freedom, but Trish wasn't the same. Lyss stopped the motorcycle as the demon stared at her with a deep frown on her face.
"Put the bike in the garage and come inside. We need to talk." she said as Alyssa swore softly and dismounted the bike, taking the key from the ignition before rolling it over to the garage. She put it back in the exact same position that it had been in when she had borrowed it and hung the keys on the hook. She quickly made her way into the office to see that Trish was already sitting on the desk, obviously waiting for her.
"Before you start yelling at me, I have a very good reason for this." Alyssa said, which caused Trish to raise her eyebrows in response, as if to tell her to go on. "I went out with some friends and we got tangled up with a vampire. Then I found out that some of my friends were at a party where vampires were going to turn them, so I went to help them." she explained, but the blonde didn't look very impressed.
"I understand protecting your friends, but going to V for a demon attachment and stealing your dad's bike is not okay." she said calmly while Alyssa scoffed.
"In my defense," she shrugged, looking at the demon, "I only expected V to give me a weapon, not a familiar. And I didn't steal the bike. I borrowed it."
"You've got to take this seriously, Alyssa." Trish snapped as she got to her feet. "Just because you've unleashed powers doesn't mean you can't die."
"I know that!" Lyss shouted, glaring at her in anger. "It was either let my friends die or put my life on the line!"
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me." Trish hissed and walked over to Alyssa as she stood her ground and glared up at her.
"You are not my fucking mother." she said coldly and Trish was in a huff.
"Leave your weapons on the desk." she said in a calm voice and Alyssa shook her head.
"No way. Only dad can take them."
"Your father told me that I can confiscate them when he's not around. Put them on the desk and go to your room." the demon said harshly, glaring down at her. "Now." she snapped, making Alyssa jump a bit. She took her sword and gun off her person and slammed them on the desk, muttering under her breath.
"I hate you!" Lyss screamed and ran upstairs.
"I know you do." Trish yelled back and let out a sigh when Alyssa was out of sight. She rubbed her face and leaned against the desk, silently staring at the weapons as Alyssa's door slammed.

Alyssa sighed as she took her school books out of her locker, awkwardly fixing her hair in the mirror before she closed the door behind her. She screamed as JJ came into view and slapped him on the chest as he laughed and smiled at her.
"So are you still in trouble?" he asked as she glared at him.
"Yes. And Trish isn't letting up either." she admitted, shaking her head as they made their way down the hall. "She confiscated my weapons so she and dad can talk about it when he gets back." she sighed, hugging her books and JJ frowned.
"Tough." he murmured before looking down at her. "Well, hey. At least you're not on house arrest. That means we could totally go see a film tonight."
"Why can't you take someone else with you, James?" she asked and he shrugged his shoulders. "I have to try out for the cheer squad later because Lady managed to convince the coach to give me an early tryout. I really don't want to have to worry about that stupid movie Dawn as well."
"Dusk." JJ corrected and she rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. You can just ask Jasmine."
"Jas has a date tonight." JJ corrected before Alyssa frowned.
"I thought you and Jas were going out."
"Well… we were," he smiled at Alyssa as they stopped at her class. "But we realized that maybe we're better off just being friends… so please? Come on, Lyss. I'll buy you all the candy you want. Even your very own popcorn." Alyssa let out a sigh and rolled her eyes.
"Fine. But you better get me one of all the candies or so help me." she growled before seeing Ethan approaching. Her anger melted away at the sight of him and she gave him a small smile. JJ looked between them and raised a brow and chuckled.
"See you later, girl." he said before leaving, giving Ethan a gentle pat on the shoulder. He gave a little wave before he and Alyssa made their way into the classroom.
"Are you doing all right? James told me you got into trouble…" he said softly as they sat down.
"I'm fine… not like there's anything I can do," she shrugged as she put down her books and looked at the Seer. "At the very least, it gives me a better reason to join the cheer squad."
"You're going to join the cheer squad?" Ethan asked and she nodded her head and leaned back in her seat. "I'm sure you'll get in."
"I am too, but cheer captain Stephanie seems to have a thing for me." she admitted, smiling a little at the teenager sitting next to her. He laughed a bit and looked down, too embarrassed to look at her. "So, what are you up to tonight?"
"Benny, Sarah and I are going to the premiere of Dusk." he admitted with some embarrassment.
"Small world." she murmured before the bell rang.
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
As the car approached the Westdale Theater, Alyssa groaned in irritation and threw her head back. JJ laughed and looked over, rolling his eyes as she turned to stare at the theater.
"This sucks…" she murmured quietly.
"More than when you sit at home and sulk because your second mommy took away your boomstick?" he teased her before she punched him in the arm. With a laugh, he opened his door and stepped out, while Lyss did the same. She thought about making a run for it, but JJ had spent a lot of money on these tickets and she refused to let him waste it out of her own selfish pride. They were on their way into the theater after their tickets were confirmed, and they stopped short at the sight of Benny there.
"I thought Ethan was joking." Lyss admitted with a small grin as the taller teenager turned to face them, a little bit in a panic.
"No! No, no, no! This is NOT what it looks like!" he said in a desperate tone before Alyssa rolled her eyes.
"Please. Sarah's a Dusker, so she clearly brought you along. There is no shame in it." she assured him, patting his arm as he shook his head.
"You really shouldn't go in there." he sounded almost desperate as JJ looked over and chuckled.
"Please, we all know it sucks." he shrugged his shoulders and took the snacks, quietly thanking the girl who worked there. He handed Lyss her popcorn and the influx of candy before Benny gave her a gentle nudge and held something out to her, just out of sight of the blonde who was working there. Alyssa's eyes widened at the sight of it and she took it.
"What are you doing with something like that…?!" she asked quietly, but he shushed her.
"Just…trust me." he whispered before she rolled her eyes and followed JJ inside.
"What did he give you?" the redhead beside her asked.
"A sacrificial knife. V's got a few, so I don't know where geek 2 got it…" she muttered before they both paused. "This must be a damn joke."
She felt the anger bubble up inside of her as she stared at the vampires on the stage in front of the screen. JJ put a hand on her shoulder to keep her grounded as they sat down, her eyes fixed on Jesse as he seemed to notice her by nothing more than her scent. His eyes turned back to her as they stared back at each other.
"He just wants to get to you. In a public place like this, I doubt they'll do anything." J.J. whispered, but Lyss didn't feel quite so safe with that thought. She folded her arms over her chest and kept her eyes on the vampires on the stage, just waiting for them to do something stupid. She could feel Shadow's eagerness to get out of the ink. She clearly had the same sense of danger as she did, and it was only making her more anxious. She regretted having blown up at Trish and having said what she hadn't meant, because now more people were endangered than ever.
"Welcome," Erica started as everyone in the audience started to clap. "To the special screening of Dusk 3: Unbitten. When you see what's in store for you tonight, well… you'll just die." she finished and Alyssa started to shift nervously in her seat. This was bad. This was very, very bad. JJ, however, didn't have the look of worry on his face. If anything, he seemed to be almost amused.
"We should leave." Lyss whispered, wanting to get JJ out of there more than anything else.
"Come on, it's a vampire flick." JJ said quietly with a smile on his face, but she shook her head.
"JJ, Benny and Ethan obviously hate this film. What the hell are they doing here?" she said while JJ frowned a little bit. "There's got to be another reason."
"Well, Benny gave you that knife, didn't he? Why not use it if something happens?" he shrugged, but she sighed and shook her head.
"I'm calling V." she muttered and grabbed her phone. JJ tried to stop her but she got up as Erica and her vampire gang started calling numbers. As the phone rang, Alyssa's worry grew more and more with the fear that he wasn't going to answer. She didn't have anyone else to call except for Nero, and she knew that he wouldn't want to drop everything he was doing to help, since he had a family of his own now and still lived in Fortuna.
"Hello?" V said, and Lyss felt the worry melt away, a small sigh leaving her just as Ethan walked into the theater, and she grabbed his arm instinctively for some sort of comfort.
"We have a serious problem, V. Westdale Theater," she said before Jesse bit the girl and her panic came back. "Please hurry." she added quickly before hanging up.
"Wow. All they did at the screening of Dusk 2 was hand out T-shirts." a blonde Dusker said as Lyss narrowed her eyes at her.
"You know… I heard that the lead actor might be coming to the screening." she whispered, trying to get the attention of the girls.
"Dirk is going to be here? Oh, I have to see this!" she exclaimed as she and her friend hurried out of the cinema. Ethan looked at her as she nodded a little, then looked back at JJ and motioned for him to leave the theater.
"Get home safely, James." Lyss whispered as he patted her on the shoulder and quickly slipped out of the theater.
"Fire!" Ethan shouted, startling a few fans who were nearby. Jesse was in a panic, trying to save face before Lyss let go of Ethan.
"There's a fire in the screening room!" she yelled, causing a mass hysteria to erupt. "Everybody out, fire!" she added as people started to run out. As a vampire tried to grab her, Lyss pulled the knife from her pocket. She sliced him clean across the throat and stabbed another vampire while Ethan took a shot at another vampire. Lyss led a group of people out, headbutting and stabbing a vampire who tried to attack her.
"Alyssa." Vitale called out as he pushed his way past the humans and vampires as if he hadn't been affected by the mass hysteria around them. He stabbed a vampire in the chest with his cane when she got too close for comfort. He shoved her away as she burst into flames and ashes and died a presumably painful death. The summoner looked back at Alyssa and threw her the Ultimatum, which she caught with no problem.
"I'm not supposed to have this!" she hissed as she stabbed a vampire without even looking at him.
"I've had a talk with your father, and he's of the opinion that you shouldn't be punished." V said as he knocked out another creature of the night with his cane and stabbed it through the back of its throat. "With which I agree. So have fun with your freedom." Lyss smiled and shot some vampires with perfect precision, scaring more people. Lyss grabbed a girl who was under attack by a vampire and shoved the barrel of her gun into his mouth, causing his eyes to widen as she glared at him.
"Bite this." she whispered. She pulled the trigger and he was reduced to ashes. The girl clung to Alyssa's arm, sobbing helplessly. She was trembling with fear as Lyss looked down at her. She had already been bitten, it seemed, which meant that she was going to be stuck with the curse of vampirism. Alyssa put her hand on the girl's back as she clung to her waist and sobbed even harder.
"I'm so scared…" she whimpered while Alyssa nodded her head.
"I'm going to get you out of here." she assured her and led her to the exit while V helped Ethan fight off the vampires. Lyss got the girl out of the theater, and the girl crumpled to the ground. Lyss knelt down next to her as JJ honked the horn, startling the two of them. "She's been bitten." Lyss called out and the redhead practically fell out of the car to join them and check on the girl, who appeared to be the same age as them.
"Sweetie, are you okay?" JJ asked softly, kneeling beside her as she shook her head with a sniffle.
"The guy grabbed me and…" she whimpered, but Lyss put a hand on her head.
"Hey, it's okay." she assured her. "Jamison is going to take you somewhere safe, okay? Somewhere where you're not going to get hurt." she added before the girl finally looked at her.
"Thank you so much for helping me…" she mumbled and wiped her face. Lyss gave her a small smile and a pat on the shoulder.
"It's no trouble at all. It's just what I do." she said with a shrug as JJ helped the girl to her feet and helped her to the car before Alyssa headed back into the building. Lyss quickly ran into the cinema and shot some more vampires before meeting up with V and Ethan.
"This is becoming boring." V muttered, raising his free hand and casting a spell that incinerated the small group of vampires around them.
"You could have done that the whole time?!" Ethan shouted as V gave him a smirk.
"I could have. But it's not quite as much fun, is it?" he joked as Alyssa giggled and smiled at the brunette.
"You'll have to forgive Uncle V," she said softly as V walked over to Sarah. "He's a great guy, but… well, he still has a fighting spirit."
"Obviously… it felt more like he was protecting me than the other way around." Ethan admitted as they ran to Sarah and caught up with V. Benny tried to tackle the man in front of her but was taken down.
"A brave geek is still just a geek." he taunted before Alyssa leapt onto his back. He screamed with surprise as Ethan and V stepped up to Sarah, protecting her from the vampires. "Get the hell off of me!"
"What? Are you afraid of getting beat up by a girl?" She scoffed as the vampire tried to get her down. She yelped as he bit her arm, and she retaliated by biting his shoulder, making him yelp. "Doesn't feel good, does it?" she yelled, screaming as he threw her off. She stumbled over a row of seats, groaning in a dazed state. When she came to, she saw a woman standing over her with the Ultimatum pointed at her forehead. As she smiled, Lyss began to panic.
"You'd die if I shoot you with your own gun… right?" she asked as Lyss narrowed her eyes.
"If you did," she warned, slowly inching closer to the blade. "You'd have a lot more than just hunters after you."
"What? Daddy Dante's going to come and kill me?" she taunted, smiling at the hybrid below her before stomping on Lyss' wrist, causing her to cry out in pain. "Isn't he about… 78?"
"49." Lyss corrected in pain, making a grimace as the blonde dug the heel of her stiletto into her wrist.
"Not exactly in the prime of life, huh?" she chuckled as Lyss screamed louder and got the attention of both Ethan and V.
"Alyssa!" V shouted as he ran over to her. The vampire hissed and pointed the gun at him, shooting him in the abdomen before Alyssa jumped to her feet, screaming in rage as she knocked the gun out of her hands and stomped on her throat. She shot her several times, dropped the gun and ran to V as the sprinklers went off. Lyss knelt beside him, pressing a hand to his wound as he clung to her arm.
"I'm so sorry… I'm so, so sorry…" she whispered, looking back at Ethan as Sarah ran out with his jacket shielding her from the holy water. The Seer ran over to her and looked down at the summoner.
"We have to get him to the car." he said, but V shook his head.
"No time…go stop Jesse…" he put a hand over Alyssa's as her head shook.
"I nearly lost you once! I can't do it again!" she cried as she picked him up. He grunted as Ethan grabbed Benny and took off with the others. They ran out to the car as Lyss was getting V into the car, taking off her jacket and pressing the fabric against V's wound. Lyss frowned at Ethan as he got into the car. "Where's Sarah?!"
"She's not coming. We're on our own." he admitted before V held out his book of spells to Alyssa.
"There is a spell that can slow the bleeding." he said weakly as Lyss had a look at the book.
"Which one…?" she asked before he guided her through it. After she had found the spell, she recited it carefully and it seemed that some of V's pain went away as the bleeding slowed down and he was able to relax even more. The car stopped at Ethan's house and Lyss pushed open the door, looking back at V. "Just… hang on. I'm going to get you to a hospital as soon as I can." she assured him as she got out of the car. As Ethan caught up to her, Alyssa drew her gun and headed for the tree.
"I always liked that tree…" he admitted quietly as Lyss looked over at him.
"Funny how they name streets after the things they tore down to build them." Jesse shouted as he stepped out of the shadows, while Alyssa pointed the gun at him and narrowed her eyes. "This used to be an orchard. Before your idiot ancestors burned my flock alive."
"Yeah? Well… I say their only mistake was not finishing the job!" Ethan snapped back, causing the vampire to snicker.
"You made me miss my target, but that's fine," he glared at them as Lyss took the gun off the safety and placed her finger directly over the trigger, ready to fire. "I still have enough Dusker souls to resurrect a few dozen of the strongest vampires that ever lived, and you get to be their midnight snack." he finished before using his powers to lift Alyssa off the ground. She screamed and struggled as best she could before he let go and she slammed into the ground. She groaned and rolled onto her back, coughing as Ethan ran to her side and pulled out the sacrificial dagger, ready to attack when Jesse forced him to his knees. Lyss slowly pushed herself to her feet and glared at the vampire as she wiped some of the blood from her mouth.
"I…will watch you suffer…" she murmured as he chuckled and smiled at her.
"You're weak, Alyssa." he taunted before Benny ran at them, falling to the ground and landing next to Ethan. Lyss cracked her neck and grabbed her gun, pointing it at him.
"I may be weak, but at least I don't cling to my past." she sneered as she squeezed the trigger. Jesse raised his hand to push her back down and groaned in pain as the bullet hit his shoulder. She made a grimace at the pain and tried to fight it off.
"Just give it up!" Jesse yelled before Lyss screamed as she began to transform. Jesse's power began to falter as they all watched as she began to transform into something new and almost angelic, her screams growing louder and louder as she fully transformed into a different form. Large white wings adorned her back, while her hair grew longer and looked almost whiter than before. She was now taller than she'd been before. Her eyes had become pure white, and there were golden angelic sigils all over her body, giving her skin a soft glow. Lyss' eyes once again focused on Jesse as the dust settled around them. Sarah lunged at Jesse, sending the Cubile Animus flying through the air and landing in Ethan's hands as Jesse held Sarah against the tree.
"I have your friends in a box!" Ethan yelled as Jesse turned toward him.
"And I have your babysitter!" he said in retaliation as he tightened his grip around Sarah's throat. "Give me the Cubile Animus or she dies!" Alyssa narrowed her eyes at him and was about to shoot him again when Grandma Weir and Jane cast a spell that forced Jesse to let Sarah go. The fledgling ran to the group and Alyssa pulled her behind her to protect her from the seething vampire before them. Ethan opened the box and the trapped souls began attacking Jesse, who screamed in pain as Alyssa approached. Everything came to a halt and Jesse stared at her as she raised a hand and a large claymore sword materialized in her hand, her eyes remaining fixed on the man in front of her.
"I'll see you in hell." she whispered, stabbing the sword through his chest as he grabbed her arm, desperately trying to stop her. She twisted the sword and pulled it up, a blood curdling scream coming from him as the last soul dragged him below. Alyssa returned to her human form as soon as he was gone, and collapsed to the ground as the others ran to her side to check on her.
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
The motorcycle roared as Alyssa pulled into the parking lot behind the school. Lyss pulled into one of the student parking spots and took the key out of the ignition and put it in her bag. Hearing a whistle behind her, Lyss turned and saw JJ, Ethan, Benny and Sarah approaching.
"Daddy's motorcycle?" JJ teased before Alyssa gave a little triumphant smile.
"Nope. He bought it with money from his last job." she admitted, raising JJ's eyebrows in surprise.
"Wow, he got enough money for bills and a new bike?"
"Right?" Lyss chuckled, patting him. She looked at the others and let out a soft sigh, the smile still on her face.
"You look happy." Sarah said with a laugh, causing the hybrid to nod her head and giggle.
"I guess you could say that I am." She admitted, looking at the group before wrapping an arm around Ethan's shoulders and pulling him along while the others followed. Ethan laughed nervously as he walked next to her, while JJ smiled and looked at Sarah and Benny.
"How long do you think it will take for those two to get together?" he asked quietly as the others laughed.
"Dude, Ethan would never be able to tell her how he feels." Benny said bluntly as he looked at the redhead. "He's way too awkward for that."
"My guess is she'll tell him." Sarah cut in, looking at the boys. JJ snorted and looked down at her, raising his eyebrows with a goofy smile.
"You've got way too much faith in her."
"We hear you." Alyssa shouted, sneering at the group. "If you're going to gossip, do it when we're not literally standing in front of you." she flipped them off as Ethan quickly lowered her hand and quietly begged her not to, only for her to raise the other hand to flip them off again. She laughed as Ethan grabbed her by both of her wrists and pulled her into the school.

It's Halloween Time, You Know What That Means: My Obligatory MBAV Post!
So this is actually gonna be an outline for a fanfic I had an idea for a few years ago. I would work on it on and off, but I never had the motivation to fully write it out. I did however write out an outline of how I would do season 1 of the fic, so here it goes. I might still write this at sometime in the future, but I doubt it. Enjoy!
So this fic was going to be Benny x OC where the OC is Cali. Cali is secretly Calliope: the Greek muse of writing. She wanted to learn more about human and supernatural relations for a story, so she moved to Whitechapel. Also the episodes aren't in proper order because I was going off of Netflix and what made sense in my head.
Season 1 Outline
Lawn of the Dead - Cali moves to Whitechapel on the same day that the demonic animals start attacking. She bounds with Rory over writing fanfiction, and she meets the rest of the gang through him. Cali starts off hiding her true nature from the fang gang and vice versa.
Three Cheers for Evil - Cali would have been roped into the spying on the cheerleaders plot and magicked into a Stephanie's drone. Honestly might have skipped this one because the episode itself would not have changed much. At some point she runs into Grandma Weir and Grandma senses something off about her.
Friday Night Frights - Cali can see the ghost coach and remembers how he used to mistreat the nerd of Whitechapel. She misses out on the wrestling match because she is meets up with Hades in the Underworld and convinces him to unleash the Gym Locker of the Nigh.
Blue Moon - Rory and Cali find themselves hanging out more and feeling rejected by the rest of the group. Cali because she still isn't in on the vampire secret and Rory because of the whole werewolf thing. Rory accidentally lets slip that he is a vampire, and after the Werewolf!Ethan situation, the whole group. Cali does not reveal herself yet because she's worried that it will spoil her research.
Blood Drive - Cali is helping Sarah deal with cravings. When they go after the vampire nurses, the gang wants to leave Cali behind because she is "human", but that is short lived after she kicks the vampire nurses butts.
Doug the Vampire Hunter - Cali is starting to feel guilty about not telling her friends what she really is. She plans to tell them, but those plans are put on hold when Doug shows up in town. After he goes on the hunt for Sarah, she comes up with the LARPing plan and uses her powers to make it more believable.
Guys and Dolls - Cali is actively trying to tell her friends the truth, but everytime she tries to seems like something else comes up. When the doll comes to life, it drains Cali of some of her lifeforce and makes a comment about being stronger. Afterwards, the group confronts her and she tells them the truth.
Double Negative - Cali is getting used not having to hide her muse abilities in front of the group. When Evil!Benny comes around, he tries to persuade Cali to run away with him. She considers for a moment (before she realizes that it's an evil doppleganger) but is unsure why.
Smells Like Trouble - Cali walks into school is a horrible cold. The body that she came down in is prone to mortal needs and weaknesses like disease and hunger if she is on Earth long enough. Her nose is so clogged that she can't smell anything, so she is not affected by the love potion. She starts feeling jealous about all the attention Benny is now getting, but is not willing to admit it to herself yet. She goes over to Grandma Weir's house for a cold remedy, and they have a heart to heart. When she finds out that Benny made a love potion, she blows up and separates herself from the group.
Die Pod - Cali is still ignoring Benny. She puts in her earbuds to listen to music and becomes the girl infected by the plant. Most of the chapter is in Benny's perspective while he, Ethan, and Sarah work to save Cali. Afterword, Benny and Cali have a long talk and are back to being friends.
The Brewed - Cali, Benny, and Ethan are fighting against the zombies. Cali gets bit instead of Benny. She doesn't mention it because she assumes that she can't be zombified due to her being a Muse. She doesn't realize she's wrong until she's too late. As she's turning, she uses her last breaths to kiss Benny. The kiss slowly turns into a bite as her transformation completes. Afterward, Cali insists that she only did it because she thought she was dying and that they should just be friends.
Three Geeks and a Demon - Tensions are high between Benny and Cali as every time Benny tries to bring up the kiss, Cali shuts it down. When he suggests the seance, they get into an argument, and Cali leaves. Cali finds herself hanging with Erica for the night. Erica doesn't get Cali's crush on Benny, but she suggests Cali give a shot just to stop all her moping.
Jesse's Girl - With the dance coming up, Benny and Cali decide to try going to the dance together. They're plans are interrupted by Jesse coming back. During the fight, Cali gives Jesse a run for his money, but she isn't fast enough to stop Ethan from getting bit. The season ends with Cali and Benny deciding to try being an actual couple.
I didn't fully outline season 2, but there was going to be a throughline of the longer that Cali was on Earth, the more mortal she would become. After the Hottie Ho-Tep episode, she would go back to Olympus to recharge only to make a dramatic re-entrance at the talent show with her sisters to take down Serena. The end of season 2 was going to have Cali defeat Stern and the Lucifractor but have her lose her immortality in the process.
I hope you enjoyed! If enough people like this idea I might do drabbles or one-shots in this world here or there, but I probably won't do a full story. I'm working on three WIPs already as it is.

Benny x OC
My Babysitter’s a Vampire
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You’re Special
Prompt: This is based on the episode Independence Daze. My OC Liz is thrown into her own alternate fear pocket universe along with Benny, Ethan, and Sarah. While the others deal with more Supernatural fears Liz has some more realistic problems to deal with. This leads her to find out a lot more about herself as a person and what she is capable of.
Warnings: Abusive father, panic attack
A/N: I wrote this as an OC because I feel like it’s too specific to write as a reader insert. Also during part of the story it will switch to 3rd person point of view, but it will be labeled. I really enjoyed writing this one. It could turn into a multi-chapter. Tell me what you guys think!
I was sitting in Ethan’s kitchen eating cookies with Sarah and Benny. Benny started making cookie sandwiches while Sarah called him out for being disgusting. Although he’s making a mess honestly I think it’s kinda cute when he’s being childish. Let’s face it. I just think everything Benny does is cute. He’s my best friend, but I’ve had a crush on him for years. “Hello!” “Oh hi Evelyn come on in!” I turn around to see Ethan’s mom invite Benny’s Grandma into the house. I love her. She’s honestly such an incredible woman. She’s a badass even for her age. I constantly wish she was my Grandma. “What brings you here?” Ethan’s mom asks. “Well I just wanted to make sure Benny isn’t making a mess” She says as she magically flips his glass of milk over and onto the floor. My jaw drops. Then she sends Ethan’s mom on a mission for napkins. “Grandma!” Benny yells in a hushed tone. I start to giggle a little. I just can’t keep from laughing. Benny turns his head to give me a death glare. Benny’s Grandma then goes on to lecture Benny because this idiot tried to conjure a troll a couple hours ago. He did it because Sarah didn’t believe in trolls and Ethan bet him that he couldn’t do it. I was just kinda in it to see the chaos unfold so this was pretty entertaining. This would have probably ended badly if it had even gone to plan, but instead he conjured a toll in the middle of his living room and his Grandma had to pay to get to Ethan’s house. “Here we go…” Ethan’s mom says approaching with paper towels. That’s when the cookie plate hits the floor. “Benny!” His Grandma exclaims. Benny gives another defensive look as Ethan’s mom runs to get the vacuum. “Well at least I conjured a toll booth. Can one of you three do that?” Benny asked us. “No, all I do is fight everything while you hide” Sarah responds. Then Ethan had to put in his two cents about how he’s the most important because his genius plans are always so perfect and suddenly everyone was fighting. I decided to stay out out of this one. I know I’m not the most important. I’m the only one without powers. I’m just kind of along for the ride. I was friends with the boys before all of this happened and I’m friends with them after. Sometimes I just wish I was special. I just wish they could see that they all matter. “Could you guys just stop fighting?!” I beg. “Liz, is right! You four are a team!” Benny’s Grandma reminds us. “I sense a coming darkness. A force so powerful, so evil that none of you stand a chance alone. You have to work together-“ She pauses. I look around to see everyone else is on their phones. “You have to work together” She says again. “Yeah…” Benny says half listening. I know they’re all annoyed with each other after the fight, but this is important.
Just like that as quickly as she had come, Benny’s Grandma was out the door again. I followed her out. “Wait!” I say trying to catch her attention. “I gave you kids a chance. If you’re not going to listen then there isn’t much more I can do” She tells me. “I’m sorry if they weren’t listening, but I was, I care. I just wish I could do something to stop it” I tell her. “Oh, but you can!” She tells me. “How? I don’t have magic like Benny or visions like Ethan or super human abilities like Sarah. I’m just me. I’m not special” I tell her. “Oh, Liz, you are capable of so much more than you think” She says climbing the stairs to her front porch. “What that’s supposed to mean?” I ask. “You’ll find out in due time, My Dear. Let’s just hope it’s not too late” She says before closing the door. “Okay…thanks…” I say to a closed door. I love that woman, but she is always so cryptic. I looked down at my phone to check the time. It was getting pretty late and it was a school night so I decided to head home before my parents killed me for breaking curfew.
I woke up the next day to nothing feeling right. My stomach felt uneasy so I decided it would be best to stay home from school. “Mom?!” I call throughout the house. She’s nowhere to be found. I try to call her, but she doesn’t pick up. She probably already left for work. I know my dad is already gone. Against my better judgement I decide to stay home. I probably shouldn’t skip, but I feel like I’m about to vomit any second. I shoot my mom a text to tell her. Then I pick up my phone to try to call Benny, but he doesn’t pick up. That’s weird. He usually always answers me. He’s probably running late for school. I decide to shoot him a text too saying I’m not going to school and asking him to get my homework and come over after school to drop it off.
A couple hours pass and Benny still hasn’t answered my text. That’s weird. Usually Benny responds right away. On top of that, my mom hasn’t answered me either. Where is everybody? I’m standing in my kitchen making lunch when I hear the door open and slam shut. In walks my father. His booming voice starts to scream as I feel my hands begin to shake a little bit. “You skipped school?!” He screams. This is not going to be good.
3RD PERSON POV
While Liz was trapped in her own personal fear dimension Sarah was running from the evil version of herself, Benny was running from a robot dentist, and Ethan was figuring out how to communicate with Benny and Sarah through objects they had emotional connections to. That’s when Ethan saw the cloaked man throwing fireballs. Ethan was able to use Benny’s gym shorts and Sarah’s makeup compact to pull them into Ethan’s universe. Now they just had to find Liz. “Where’s Liz?” Benny asks. “I couldn’t get into her locker” Ethan tells them. “Good thing I know her combination!” He says as they race to her locker. Benny quickly puts in the combination and opens the locker. Sarah reaches in immediately knowing which object is the most important to Liz. “It’s obviously her necklace. She wears it everyday” Sarah tells the boys. The necklace was small and had a pendant of a TARDIS on it. It was from Liz’s favorite show. Benny grabs the necklace and he can barley hear Liz. “I got this for her for her birthday last year…I guess she liked it…” Benny says with a small smile. He could barley hear Liz’s crying from the other end. “Liz? Can you hear me?” He asks while holding the necklace. There’s no response. “The connection isn’t very strong. I don’t think she can hear me” He tells Sarah and Ethan. “Why was the connection stronger with you?” Ethan asks Benny. “Well we weren’t that far apart“ Benny reminds him. “That’s it! The connection is weak with Liz because she isn’t by the school” Ethan figures it out. “She could be anywhere!” Sarah exclaims. “I know exactly where she is” Benny tells her as he starts to walk out of the school. Sarah and Ethan follow quickly behind. “Where are we going?” Ethan asks. “Liz’s can’t be at school because her worst fear wouldn’t be at the school” He tells them. “Well your stupid robot dentist wouldn’t be at the school either!” Sarah exclaims. “First of all, Cyberdontist isn’t stupid. He’s terrifying. Second of all, you have to trust me. Liz’s fear is definitely at her house” He tells her. As they get closer to Liz’s house the connection through the necklace grows stronger.
When they finally get to her house they walk in to see her ghost like form pressed against the wall shaking in fear. She was crying quietly as tears streamed down her face. Her dad was standing in front of her screaming at her. She was stuttering out different variations of “No, Sir” and “Yes, Sir” and “I’m sorry”. She looked terrified. “Who is that?” Sarah asks. “That’s her dad” Ethan explains. “I’ve never even met him...” Sarah trails off. “That’s because she didn’t want you to meet him” Benny says. “She hates her dad” He adds. He was uncomfortable to see Liz in so much pain. “I have to get her out of here” Benny says taking a step closer.
LIZ’S POV
I was finding it harder and harder to breathe as my dad kept screaming at me. “Are you kidding me?! You are such a joke! Way to go Ace! You really messed that on up didn’t you?! Didn’t you?!” He screams. “Yes, Sir” I say quietly. I back up only to hit the wall. “Liz! Can you hear me? It’s Benny” I hear a voice say. I can’t look away from my dad. “Liz! I need you to look at me!” I hear his voice again. “Liz, we’re stuck in our own fear dimensions. If you want to get out of here you need to listen to me” I look past my dad to see Benny, Ethan, and Sarah. They look like ghosts. Benny reaches out his hands. He’s holding my necklace. I’m a little confused because I’m wearing my necklace. “Liz, I can get you out of this, but you need to take my hands” Benny tells me. “Look at me when I’m talking to you!” My dad screams. I look back to him quickly. Benny comes closer. “Liz, everything is going to be okay if you just take my hands” Benny promises. “I-I can’t” I say as I let out a sob. “Are you even listening to me?!” My dad screams. He gets more in my face. Benny gets closer. “Liz, I know your scared. I promise I can get you out of here. Just take my hands” Benny reaches out again. I take his hands. He squeezes mine tight and I feel a little bit of relief. My dad grabs my arm. “You aren’t going anywhere!” He yells at me. The entire house starts to shake. I start to hyperventilate. I can’t breathe. “Benny, you need to hurry!” Sarah begs. “Liz, you can do this. Just hold on tight, okay?” He says. I nod. He pulls me through into his arms and my dad disappears.
The house won’t stop shaking. I still can’t breathe. I start to sob uncontrollably. Nothing feels right. My entire body is shaking and I’m covered in sweat. Benny sits me down on the couch. “Liz, everything is going to be just fine” Benny says to me calmly. I don’t answer him. I keep my eyes focused on the floor. Sarah and Ethan approach with worried looks on their faces. Benny tells them to back up and give me some space. I gasp for air between sobs. “Sarah, can you go get Liz a glass of water?” Benny asks. “Yeah I’ve got it” Sarah says before rushing to the kitchen. “Liz, listen to me, you’re having a panic attack” Benny tells me. I nod because it’s all I can do. “Hey, look at me, okay?” Benny starts. Suddenly my dad’s words pop into my head ‘Look at me when I’m talking to you!” I hear him scream. The house shakes violently. “What’s happening?” Sarah asks when she gets back with the water. She places it down on the table. “I think Liz’s emotions are somehow connected to the shaking” Ethan tells her as he sits down in a chair so he doesn’t fall. Things start to fall off the shelves so Ethan and Sarah take shelter in the doorway. Benny stays on the couch with Liz. “Liz, it’s okay. I’m here. Your dad can’t hurt you right now. You’re safe with me” He promises. I still can’t breathe. He picks up my hand and puts it on his chest so I can feel his heartbeat. I look at him. “That’s a little better. Can you breathe with me?” He asks. I give him a small nod. We lock eyes and we take a big over exaggerated breath together. In and out. In and out. “You’re doing so good” He tells me. In and out. “I’m so proud of you” He says. In and out. “I know this is scary, but you’re strong” He tells me. In and out. “I’m here. You’re safe” He promises. In and out. Slowly the house stops shaking. Benny pulls me into his arms and I lay my head against his chest listening to his heartbeat. “You did so good, Liz. I’m so proud of you” He tells me. I don’t respond. I just sit there listening to his calming heartbeat. He holds me tightly and places a kiss to the top of my head. I can’t respond. He doesn’t need a response. He knows how grateful I am. He offers me the water and I gladly take it. “How did Benny know how to do that?” Sarah asks. “This isn’t the first time Liz has had a panic attack. It’s just been a while. It’s never made the house shake before though” Ethan responds. I suddenly realize that the house shaking wasn’t all in my mind. “Benny?” I get his attention. “Yeah?” He looks down at me and asks. “C-can we get out of here? Please?” I ask. My voice almost feels foreign to me. “Of course” He tells me. He stands up and takes my hands in his, helping me up. My body is still a little shaken. My legs almost give out, but Benny holds me up. “Got it?” He asks. “Y-Yeah. I’m just a little tired” I tell him. I stand up and try to walk on my own, but after his protests I take Benny’s arm for support. If I’m being honest I don’t mind.
We walk out the door with Sarah and Ethan behind us and start down the street. We head towards the school. Our answer is probably there. “Do any of you guys know what’s happening?” I ask. “We all woke up in our separate dimensions where we were alone with our worst fears. I was able to pull Benny and Sarah into my dimension using emotionally charged objects and then Benny pulled you into my dimension” Ethan explains. “I saw a guy in a cloak throwing fireballs” He says. “I saw Cyberdontist” Benny adds. “And I saw myself- Well the evil version of myself” Sarah finishes. “And I saw my dad...” I trail off. “I’m really sorry, Liz. I didn’t know-“ I cut Sarah off. “Yeah. Can’t pick your family I guess” I say sadly. Benny looks down at me and squeezes my hand. We exchange sad smiles. At least I’ll always have my friends. “Anyway, how did we get here and how do we get out?” I ask. “I have no idea” Ethan confesses. “Great...” I say quietly. “We’re going to get out of this” Benny promises.
Once we get to the school we try to figure out the best solution. “There has to be someway to get out of here” I start. Then I look up to see Cyberdontist, Evil Sarah, and Cloak Guy in the doorway. “Guys...” I start. A figure comes up behind them. It’s my dad. “Holy crap....” I trail off as Benny grabs my hand and pulls me into the hall. We run into a random classroom and shove the door shut. I can see Cyberdontist through the window as he tries to open the door. We stay pressed against the wall and Ethan keeps his hand on the door knob keeping it shut. I can feel Benny’s breathing get heavier. I hold his hand. Although Sarah keeps cracking jokes about Cyberdontist that isn’t gonna make Benny any less afraid of him. I start rubbing circles on the back of his hand with my thumb. “It’s okay” I whisper. “You promised me. We’re gonna get out of here” I smile. He smiles back down at me and takes a deep breath. “So we’re just gonna stand here and wait?” Sarah asks. “We’re not waiting. We’re hiding. That’s a much better plan” Benny answers her. “I should just go out there and-“ Benny cuts Sarah off. “And do what? Get roughed up by yourself?” He asks. “Hey, you can’t even magic yourself out of a dentist appointment” She says in defense. Benny gives her a look. “Guys this isn’t helping” Ethan interjects. “Well why don’t you go out there and touch Hoody McFire Hands and get a vision!” Benny exclaims. “Spoiler alert: he’ll cook me!” Ethan responds. The room shakes a little again, but I’m so annoyed I barely notice. “Listen, everybody is afraid of something and everybody’s fears are valid. You guys need to stop fighting. I’m sick and tired of your fighting. You guys are my best friends and I don’t wanna be in the middle of it anymore!” I confess. They all apologize to me. “We didn’t realize it bothered you so much” Ethan confesses. “Of course it bothers me” I tell them. “You guys are always arguing over who’s better and who’s more important when I feel like I’m the least important of us all” I say. “Don’t say that” Benny interjects. “It’s true. All of you guys are important to me and I’m just lucky to be friends with you, but it breaks my heart when you guys fight like this” I tell them. “You will always be important to me” Benny tells me. I smile. “I’m not special” I tell him. “Not like you guys” I add. “Never think for one second that you aren’t special” He tells me. “We care about you, Liz” Ethan adds. “Yeah Liz, you’re one of my best friends” Sarah adds. I smile. “You know, I always felt like I didn’t have very much of a family because of my dad. I was wrong. You guys are my family” I say before Benny pulls me into a hug. Ethan and Sarah join. We almost forget about our worst fears behind the classroom door.
After a few minutes of brainstorming Ethan realizes the only way to get out of this is to confront our fears together. We decide to go after Evil Sarah first. Benny and Ethan decide to be bait for Evil Sarah. “I ran so much track today...My blood is pumping like crazy...” Benny says pretty unconvincingly. I have to hold back a laugh. Benny and Ethan collapse to the floor and unconvincingly beg Evil Sarah not to eat them. Then the real Sarah comes up behind her and drives a steak through her heart. It was pretty badass.
Next was Benny’s fear. Cyberdontist. Since magic doesn’t work on robots we decided logic was the best approach, or rather breaking logic. We cornered Cyberdontist while Sarah held him back and Ethan yelled illogical things at him. I grabbed Benny’s hand. He squeezes it tightly. He would never ask, but I know he needs me right now. “Why do you drive in a parkway and park in a driveway?” Ethan asks. “Your mission is not to accept this mission. Do you accept?” He adds. Cyberdontist starts to short out and I can see a small smile appear on Benny’s lips. “Why do you have to put coffee inside a coffee maker? Doesn’t it make the coffee?” Ethan asks. “You can do it, Benny” I tell him. “Once I ate a whole half a pizza” He says. I smile. “A whole half!” He repeats. Cyberdontist now has smoke coming out his ears. He collapses when Sarah finds the off button. Sarah and Ethan race off while Benny and I stay behind for a second. “I wonder if I could play videos games on this thing” He says. I laugh. He starts to touch the robot and it jolts for a second. He jumps away. “Never mind...” he trails off. “Come on” I smile. He smiles back and we meet up at the classroom again with Sarah and Ethan. “So what’s next?” I ask. I am so ready to fry Fire Guy’s butt. “Liz...” Ethan starts. Then I realize. My heart sinks. “No...” I feel my legs starting to give out again. The building shakes a little. Benny helps me to a chair. “No, I can’t do this. I can’t-“ Benny cuts me off. “It’s okay. We’ll find a way around him” Benny says. I start to cry a little. “You guys don’t understand!” I start. “When I leave here I have to go home to him and I-“ I start to sob again. The room shakes harder. “What is going on?!” Sarah asks as she gets under a table with Ethan. “Shhhhh it’s okay. We’ll find a way out of here. I won’t let him hurt you” Benny promises. He pulls me into his arms. I breathe with him. In and out. I’m okay. He stops me from having another panic attack. The room stops shaking and I wipe my tears.
We can’t defeat my dad and we can’t defeat Fire Guy so we decide the best way to get out of this is to find an emotionally charged object from Rory so he can pull us through into our dimension. We get to his locker and Sarah breaks off the lock. We grab his Vampire Sasquatch and sure enough, that’s it. It takes a minute for him to figure it out, but eventually Rory understands the situation. That’s when we see Fire Guy approaching with my dad closely behind him. I quickly grab onto Benny. Benny grabs Vampire Sasquatch. “We are being chased by Liz’s dad and a walking flame thrower! You have to get us out of here!” He yells into the doll. The room starts to shake again. “I’ll only help you if Sarah agrees to sign my council application” Erica says. “Wasn’t that due like a month I ago?!” Sarah questions. I feel like the room is closing in on me as they get closer. I close my eyes tightly as I try to keep the panic down and I cling to Benny. He holds me tightly. “I have been hanging out with Rory and his stupid doll all day for nothing?!” Erica yells. I don’t know what that’s all about and I don’t care. “Just meet us in front of the school right now!” Ethan tells them as we start to run. I can barley open my eyes. My dad and the cloak dude are getting closer.
When we get to the front of the school we see Rory and Erica approaching in their weird ghost looking form. I don’t pay much attention as I stare down the hall at my dad. “Elizabeth look at me when I’m talking to you!” He yells. Benny grabs my arm and puts a hand on my back. “Come on. It’s time to go” He tells me. “Elizabeth!” My dad yells. The whole school shakes violently. Ethan almost loses his balance and falls to the ground. Benny pulls me to Erica and Rory. “Hold on to me tightly, okay?” He says. I nod and grab onto Benny. Sarah and Ethan grab his shoulders while I wrap my arms around his waist. Rory and Erica pull us through. Once we get to our dimension I immediately collapse on the ground. The room won’t stop shaking. “Shouldn’t this have stopped when we left?!” Ethan exclaims. “What’s going on?!” Erica yells. “Benny, do something!” Sarah cries. Principal Hicks gets on the loud speaker and announces that all students must take cover because we’re having an earthquake. Why won’t the shaking stop?! “Liz, it’s okay. He’s gone now” Benny tells me. He kneels in front of me and takes my hands in his. “Why won’t it stop?!” I ask. “I don’t know, but you have to calm down” He tells me. He puts his hands on my shoulders. “You can stop this. You’re safe. You just need to breathe with me okay?” He reminds me. “I can’t control it!” I cry. “You’re strong. You can do this” He reminds me. He takes a big breath with me. In and out. “You’re special” He tells me. In and out. “You’re important” He says. In and out. “You’re doing so good. I’m so proud of you” He says. In and out. Finally the room stops shaking. He pulls me into a hug as I let out a few tears. “I’m so proud of you. I love you” He tells me. I blush a little as he places a kiss on the top of my head.
After school we sat in Benny’s kitchen drinking tea and explained the whole day to his Grandma. “Well I’m glad you learned your lesson. Even if it took flinging you into three private dimensions” Benny’s Grandma said. “What?!” We all say in unison. Suddenly my cup on the kitchen counter starts to boil and it shatters out of nowhere. “Oh, relax. You were never in any real danger...Although that is knew...” She walks over to me with a towel. “So you’re telling me that you trapped me in a room with that monster at his angriest, gave me panic attacks, and now all of this is happening just to learn a lesson?!” I ask. The teapot starts to whistle. It isn’t even on the stove. “Believe me, I couldn’t be sure that this would happen” She says. “But you knew it could...and the chances of it going away are pretty slim?” I question her. “I’m afraid once you’ve unlocked it, it can’t be undone” She tells me. The house starts to shake again. It isn’t much this time, but enough to notice. Benny grabs my hand and it stops. “I didn’t want to say anything unless I could be sure. I’m afraid putting you in that situation was the only way to find out. But you don’t have to be afraid if your powers. They come from the Earth! They’re good!” She promises. “They don’t feel very good” I admit. “Your powers are connected to your emotions. In time you’ll learn to control them” She tells me. “What exactly are my powers?” I ask. “You can manipulate the four elements; earth, water, fire, and air. That’s why you and Benny have always been so connected. Your powers are drawn to each other because they both come from the Earth” She explains. I look down at our hands and I blush a little. “I have something for you” She remembers. She leaves the room and quickly comes back with a bracelet. “I was hoping I would be able to give this to you someday. It’s like a set of training wheels. It will keep every little emotion you have from setting off your powers. It won’t keep out every emotion, but it will help” She explains. “Thank you” I say before taking it and putting it on my wrist.
A couple hours pass by and I don’t want to leave Benny’s house. Sarah and Ethan have already gone home, but I can’t bring myself to go there. Not right now. I know I have to. Benny and I stand at the front door as I put on my shoes. “I don’t want to go home” I tell him. He pulls me into his arms. “I know, but he’ll be angrier if you break curfew” Benny reminds me. Benny and I share a long goodbye hug. “I’m really scared of him” I say. “I know, but it’s okay. You can call me as soon as you get home. I’ll stay up with you all night if I have to” He promises. He holds on a little longer and then I open the door to leave. The door is magically pushed closed again. “Did you really think I’d let you go home, My Dear?” Benny’s Grandma asks who had been eavesdropping at the top of the stairs. “My parents are expecting me” I tell her. “I called your mother and told her that you and Benny were cramming to finish a science project and that you might need all night” She smiles. “Benny get the guest room ready” She instructs him. I jump back into Benny’s arms in relief and run to the top of the stairs to hug his Grandma. “Thank you” I say as I hug her tightly. “Anytime” She smiles.
I turn onto my side and look at the clock. It’s late and I can’t sleep so I decide to get a glass of water and go back to bed. When I sneak downstairs I see Benny on the couch watching TV. “You couldn’t sleep either?” I ask. “I just keep thinking about that stupid drill” He admits as he makes a drilling motion with his hands. I sit down next to him on the couch and curl up into him. He wraps his arm around me. “Thank you” I say. “For what?” He asks. “For everything” I start. “You held me together today. You kept me grounded and comforted me. You didn’t have to do that. You had your own fear to deal with” I tell him. “Liz, caring about you is easy” He tells me. I smile. “I would do anything for you” He continues. “Liz, when I said I loved you earlier I meant it” He finishes. I start to blush. Things grow quiet. “I love you too” I respond. There is silence again, but it’s a comfortable silence. Next thing I know his lips are on mine. My heart skips a beat and I can feel a million butterflies in my stomach. Then I hear the pipes in the sink explode. Water goes everywhere. “Oh my God!” I say looking at the sink. “Benny!” I hear Benny’s Grandma yell. She comes down stairs as quickly as she can. “Actually that was me...I’m so sorry!” I say feeling terrible. “Remember...not every emotion is blocked by that bracelet. The strongest emotions can still break through” She reminds me. With the wave of her hand the sink is fixed. “Now get some sleep you two” She orders us. “Thank you” I tell her. “Anytime, My Dear” She says before heading up the stairs again. As soon as we hear her door shut Benny and I start to laugh. We kiss again and then we turn back to the TV. He lays a blanket over me before hitting play on the next episode of Doctor Who. I fall asleep in his arms to the sound of the TARDIS. I’m finally safe.

Blackened Angel - Part 1
Summary: Alyssa is starting her freshmen year of high school with low spirits and even lower expectations of herself. When she goes on her first mission, she's attacked by more than just demons. Getting mixed up with vampires, nerds, and even a strange cult, Alyssa realizes that being normal may be the least of her problems.
Warnings: Near death experience, swearing, violence, cringe writing
A/N: This is the first part of the first chapter of Blackened Angel. This is a fic mixing Devil May Cry (as well as my oc Alyssa) and My Babysitter's a Vampire. This fic has been in the works for the past month or so, so I hope it's at least up to par with what I want from it. This is by far my largest project, spanning over 73 (maybe even more) chapters so updates will be slow as the story continues, but I will try to make them as frequent as humanly possible.
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
As the start of the new school year approached, Alyssa found herself still feeling incredibly pessimistic about everything. She had spent her whole life trying to live up to the title of the Legendary Devil Hunter's daughter, but she knew deep down that she just wasn't ready. Life would go on as it always had, without Alyssa.
Alyssa lay in bed, staring up at the canopy above her, hiding her from the rest of the world as if it were a cocoon for her protection. Lyss pursed her lips as she thought of all the bad things that could happen this year, the fear starting to creep up on her before she was alerted by someone knocking at the door. Alyssa sat up slowly, running her fingers through her hair as Dante entered with that smile that always meant he was up to something.
"What would you say if I told you I had a very special gift for you?" He asked as the teen scowled and straightened up, pushing the canopy curtains out of the way so she could see her father better. She could see how proud he was of what he had done this time with the curtains moved.
"I'd say it's ridiculous," she admitted before he entered fully with a scabbarded sword. It had the wings of an angel on the hilt and a magnificent gem in between them that shone a beautiful shade of blue. Amazed that he even had a sword like that, Alyssa climbed out of bed and stared at it in bewilderment. She'd never seen it before; it looked different from her father's other weapons. Elegant and feminine.
"This was your mother's sword, I thought it was time you owned her most prized possession," he explained as the teenager looked up in surprise. Before she had a chance to say anything, he had placed the sword in her hands. "She always wanted you to have it someday, and I know you'll be able to make your mother proud." he said as the young teen looked at the sword, slowly unsheathing it to reveal the beautiful silver blade underneath, with a delicate design running up it. It had a powerful feel to it even without her use of it, something was hidden deep within it that gave the blade its intense power.
"I… I don't know what I should say…" she murmured, looking up towards dad. "Are you sure I…deserve this…?" she asked, frowning slightly. "Last time I tried to fight a devil alone, I almost died…" she admitted, but he chuckled and crossed his arms.
"I know you deserve it." he assured her. "This is your first mission. You've been in training for a long time and you're getting stronger." while he spoke, Alyssa's attention was back on the sword. She lowered it and nodded to her father in awe at the chance to finally prove herself.
"I'll take anything you got, dad."
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
Alyssa had been nervous about the motorcycle ride at first, not wanting to have an accident, but Dante was sure she would be fine. Since he didn't have to worry about getting hurt, it was easy for him to say. Nevertheless, Alyssa rode through the streets of the city. She was careful not to take any of the main roads, for fear that the authorities would find her and accuse her of being a thief. She was known to be a bit forgetful, so she kept her eyes on the road, trying to keep the demon's last location fresh in her mind. This was not how she had expected a mission on her own to be, she usually went on missions with Trish or V. Was it always so nerve-wracking? How could the others handle it so well?
A man stepping into the street of the sleepy suburb interrupted her thoughts. Lyss screamed, trying to swerve but instead skidding across the ground, dragging the man by his legs. He fell over the top of the motorcycle as it continued to slide, leaving her behind in pain. She was slowly pulling herself to her feet with a groan of pain. Her wounds didn't heal as quickly as her father's or Nero's had, instead they took a long time to heal completely. She ran her fingers through her black hair, trying to get it out of her face. The man suddenly appeared in front of her.
She screamed in surprise and instinctively drew her gun, aiming it at the man smiling at her. Her icy blue eyes widened as she saw the fangs. She realized what this… thing in front of her was. He lunged at her and she pulled the trigger, shooting him in the chest before she jumped away, looking around for a place where she could lead him. It wasn't safe to fight here, she knew that, and she didn't want to risk any innocent bystanders being caught in the middle.
"You think that's going to stop me?" the man asked with a mocking grin before lunging at her again, this time biting her. Alyssa screamed in pain, managing to push him away while holding the bleeding wrist wound. She could feel the venom trying to do its work. But her demonic blood fought back, protecting her from whatever fate awaited her.
"You… motherfucker! That hurt!" she yelled, glaring at him and groaning as the venom slowly took hold. Sometimes there were some advantages to being what she was, but God did she wish that her demonic potential would show itself to her sooner rather than later. As the bite wound began to heal, the vampire seemed extremely unhappy with the fact that the venom was not affecting her.
"So you're Dante's kid." he scowled at the girl in front of him as she looked back at him, finally relaxing as her body began to return to a mostly normal state.
"What the hell is it to you? Are you in love with my dad or something?" she scoffed with a roll of her eyes. "You and every other woman in town, buddy." he gripped her jaw as she yelped, staring at him anxiously. As she struggled to pull away, he pulled her closer, flashing his fangs and golden eyes. It made her feel even more pathetic that she was nowhere near as strong as he was. All that demon in her and she was still a weakling. It was shameful.
"That's big talk for a brat who has yet to awaken her inner demon," he smiled at her before they heard screams. Lyss and the vampire looked over to see two teenage boys from her school who were watching the scene in fear. Alyssa kicked the man who was holding her before she shot him in the knee, knocking him to the ground.
"Don't just stand there! Run!" she shouted as she ran to the boys and pushed them away from her just as she was being grabbed once again. She gasped in pain as he bit down on her neck, but it was enough to allow her to shoot him in the skull. Stumbling as she held her neck, screaming in pain, she pulled the sword from her back and swung at the man. He grabbed the blade with his hands before screaming in pain and pulling back. He looked at his burned palms. Alyssa stared in shock as she realized the true power of the sword in her hands, and she panicked as he kicked her in the stomach. As her body crashed to the ground, rolling back about a yard, the sword fell from her hands.
She pushed herself to her feet and watched as the vampire picked up the sword and threw it somewhere away from her so that she wouldn't be able to use it again. She tried to beg him to stop, but her ribs felt as if they were broken and she was too badly hurt to get a single word out. She let out a weak sob as the vampire approached her. He grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her head up as she struggled pitifully.
"So this is the daughter of the great Dante?" he taunted as he glared at her with a menacing smile. As she coughed up blood and struggled to get to her feet, he laughed and threw her to the ground. He kicked her in the stomach again before walking away, "He must be so disappointed in you…" Desperately trying to get to her feet, she watched him go. She let out another sob when she couldn't. But then she heard footsteps approaching quickly. The same boys came into view as they stopped on either side of her and struggled to get her to her feet.
"This is a really bad idea!" the taller teen snapped, while the shorter one just ignored him. They helped her back to the house. They took her inside and helped her onto the couch. She collapsed on it, moaning in pain and making a grimace as the shorter one ran off to get someone to help her. Gasping a little as her ribs slowly adjusted, Lyss tried to focus on something. Once they were back in place, Alyssa pushed herself to her feet and weakly wiped the blood from her mouth. The kid on the couch stared at her in a mixture of fear and shock.
"Not. A. Word." she whispered, glaring at him before slowly making for the door. She was stopped by an older woman who placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. Instinctively, the hybrid pulled away. She tried to speak to her, but Alyssa ignored her and walked out of the house, leaving the blonde in as much confusion and shock as the boys. Lyss made her way out to the motorcycle and propped it up so that she could pick up her gun and her sword.
She didn't bother to look back at the house. She didn't even acknowledge the woman's voice calling out to her as she rode toward the office. She couldn't even handle a vampire, she wouldn't be able to handle a devil on her own. Alyssa knew when to stop. This was one of those times. She knew her father would be disappointed, but any kind of punishment was better than being in the face of a demon she knew she couldn't fight. She had gotten too proud and nearly endangered two teenagers from her school.
Alyssa stumbled into the office and Dante stood, looking at the young teenager holding her arm. As he watched her head for the stairs to the house above the office, his eyebrows furrowed. She couldn't bring herself to look at him. She was too embarrassed to face the fact that she had really failed him this time. Her failure the last time was understandable; she was only ten years old. She was just a kid, too young to even be able to comprehend the fact that her uncle was trying to take over the world. Now she was 14 years old and she should have known better… to be beaten by a vampire was embarrassing and shameful.
"Hold on, hotshot." Dante announced, causing the teen to stop and take a shaky breath. She was too scared to look at him, too afraid to see the look of disappointment on his face. She knew he loved her, but she also knew that everyone had such high standards for her to live up to. Both of her parents were remarkable in their own way.
"Sorry…" she murmured softly before the demon hunter came around the desk. She slowly looked up at him as he tossed the magazine aside and crossed his arms. She looked like she was going to cry, so broken up about failing, but he didn't seem to care. He sighed and pulled her into a hug that caused her to tense up, her arms falling to her side as the sword slipped from her grasp and clattered on the wooden floor. She had expected him to be angry at her for failing at a mission, but he didn't care about that at the moment.
"You don't have to be sorry, kiddo." He assured her as he patted her back. "It was your first real mission, after all. You don't always have to get it right." his words should have comforted her, but instead she started to sob into his chest. She couldn't tell him the real reason for her beating… he would probably send Nero to take care of the mess so it wouldn't be her problem anymore, but the thought didn't give her any comfort. "Why don't you get some rest?"
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
She had not expected the first day of freshman year. She had expected the people to be a lot meaner, even angrier, but instead most of them were dismissive or even asked her if she was all right. She still had a few cuts and bruises, mostly a long gash on her forehead where her head had hit the ground in the crash. She attributed it to her bad luck fighting that damn vampire. She appreciated the concern, but she wasn't really the type of person to talk, at least not to strangers. She had learned that trusting people was a recipe for disaster.
"Daddy dearest finally sent you on a mission?" a familiar voice asked from behind the hunter, making Lyss turn as if to attack until she realized it was none other than her best friend, Jamison Joey Richards. She sighed as the teenager's brow furrowed, and moved closer to brush her fingers lightly over the wound on Alyssa's brow. "I know you've got all this… regeneration stuff going on, but you need to be cautious."
"It was an accident." Lyss spoke softly before JJ grabbed her arm and started to walk away with her. Alyssa went to her locker, opened it and put her things inside. "I was supposed to deal with a demon but a vampire attacked me." she whispered while JJ raised an eyebrow.
"Have you been eating those decorative soaps again because they look like candy?" he asked, causing the hunter to bump her hip against his. "I mean, you have to admit it. It does sound kind of crazy, Lyss."
"Do you really think I'm that creative to come up with something like that?" the hunter scowled at the teenager standing beside her before nodding and agreeing. "Listen, we can discuss it later. I just want to get to the cafeteria for some food," she closed her locker just as JJ smiled and grabbed her arm, pulling her toward the cafeteria. Alyssa stumbled a little as they made their way through the crowd of kids, but managed to keep up with the taller teen.
"So I was thinking…" JJ started to say as they walked into the cafeteria. "How do you feel about cheerleading?"
"I don't think my father will be sending me on any assignments anytime soon, so what the hell?" As the line slowly moved forward, Lyss shrugged and crossed her arms.
"Woah, you must be feeling really down in the dumps to agree to this…" the teen muttered before a blonde boy with glasses walked up to them.
"I had no idea we had angels in this school," he gave Alyssa a big goofy smile. JJ chuckled at the comment but Alyssa stared at him with a blank expression before grabbing two trays and passing one to the ginger next to her.
"Isn't he sweet?" JJ said, nudging Alyssa in an attempt to get her to play along, but she waved her hand dismissively. JJ and the boy talked as they slowly moved through the line for lunch. Alyssa scowled at the food on her tray, paying as JJ did the same. Alyssa's attention was caught when the blonde noticed two boys and started calling out to them. She looked over, her eyes widening as she saw the familiar faces of the boys who had rescued her days before.
"You two should totally come sit with us!" the geek said and JJ nodded and smiled at him.
"Sounds like a plan! Lyss and I could use more friends." he glanced at Alyssa, but she shook her head and stepped away, stumbling slightly as the cheer captain tripped her. Lyss toppled over and landed in her food, screaming in anger as she looked up at the blonde. For a moment, something bubbled deep inside, but it quickly disappeared as JJ and Rory helped her up.
"I can share with you." Rory offered, shaking her head and trying to get the spaghetti off her shirt.
"No, no… you need food more than I do." she assured him before JJ handed her a couple of napkins. She walked with them to a table. Alyssa tried desperately to get the food off her shirt, whining a little when there was still a stain.
"That was brutal." the strange tall nerd said as he and his buddy sat down with them. Lyss glared at him and he immediately shut up.
"I'm sorry about her… she's not very personable." JJ said to the boys as he took off the sweater he was wearing and handed it to Lyss. The hunter thanked him quietly and put it on, fixing her hair as she rested her chin in the palm of her hand. She scowled disgustedly at the cheerleader sitting with the other popular kids. Perfect, pretty, popular… and yet nothing could hide what Alyssa could sense about her. She was familiar with magic, since Vitale had taken up magic after he had lost some of his demonic abilities through the acquisition of his own physical form, but she was even more familiar with black magic.
"She's just a bully, Alyssa." JJ said quietly, but Lyss scoffed at the idea, eyes fixed on the boy before her. He tensed up as they made eye contact and looked away from her so that he didn't have to look into her icy blue eyes.
"James, Alyssa. This is Benny and Ethan." Rory said, pointing to each boy as Lyss hummed softly.
"I know… we've met before." she murmured, drawing a puzzled look out of JJ. "The crash a few days ago."
"Right. The crash…" Benny said nervously. Alyssa rolled her eyes and got up from the table, flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"I'm going to the convenience store." she announced, but Ethan looked up and fidgeted nervously before speaking.
"Freshmen aren't supposed to leave the school grounds…" he said, while Lyss raised an eyebrow at him and crossed her arms.
"Like that's gonna stop me." she murmured, pushing past a group of kids. Looking at the boys, JJ sighed and shook his head.
"I'm so sorry…" he said quietly, looking at Alyssa as she left. "She's not usually this bad, but the accident really shook her up."
"It was pretty bad." Ethan commented, looking in the direction of Alyssa as she left the cafeteria. "Should someone go after her?"
"What? Do you feel some heroic need to protect her?" Benny teased before the smaller teenager scowled.
"She might get into trouble."
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
Lyss pushed open the door and entered the store, finding other teenagers already in the aisles. She made her way over to the candy aisle and picked up a couple of chocolate mini-cakes and a strawberry pie. She made her way to the checkout and pulled out her wallet before the door opened and she saw a familiar figure walk in. A heavy sigh left her as she looked at the nerd who walked up to her, clearly not very pleased to see him.
"I don't need a babysitter like you." she said bluntly, and he cringed a little at the insult.
"I just don't want you to get into trouble on your own." Ethan admitted as he stood next to her in the line while she shook her head. As they approached the front of the line, she grabbed a handful of candy and placed the candy and sweets on the counter while Ethan frowned at her. "Don't you think you need something better to eat?" he asked and she glared at him.
"Mind your business." she muttered, paying before putting the candy in her bag. She grabbed Ethan's arm to tell him to leave, but he froze and his eyes went white while her eyes went wide. She'd only seen one seer in all her life and she was a complete madwoman. When he broke out of the vision, he panicked a bit and looked at Alyssa before she pushed him to get on his way. He staggered out of the shop and Alyssa followed closely.
"Did… did you…?" he asked nervously, but she stifled him angrily and put an arm around his shoulders, forcing him to keep his head down as they went.
"The best thing you can do is to keep your mouth shut about this," she said firmly, and he looked at her in confusion. "I didn't see what you saw, but let's not announce to everyone what you can do." she snapped and turned into an alley. Having made sure no one was nearby, she let go of him and narrowed her eyes. "What did you see?"
"I… I don't know…" he mumbled, fidgeting before she grabbed his hands.
"Ethan. I know it was about me," she assured him as she pulled him closer to her. "You've got to talk to me. If it was something bad, we can stop it."
"I…" he made a face at the thought of the vision. "You… you were… protecting someone… you were attacked… and it looked like your throat was…" he trailed off, lowering his head before Alyssa's usually hardened eyes softened. She sighed and pulled him closer to her, giving him a gentle hug as he nervously wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm so sorry that was your first vision…" she murmured with remorse as she patted his back. "But I'll make sure it won't happen. You're kind of stuck with me now." she pulled away and looked up at him as he smiled a little and laughed.
"I thought so." he admitted before nervously pulling his hands away from her waist and apologizing softly. She just shrugged her shoulders and reached into her bag to offer him one of her mini cakes, which drew a confused look from the brunette in front of her.
"I don't like sharing my sweets…but you probably need it more than I do." she smiled faintly and he took the package gently, thanking her quietly.
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
Alyssa couldn't stop thinking about the vision Ethan had… she didn't know how or why something like that would happen. She wasn't going to go out on a mission anytime soon after she screwed up the last one. She'd been concentrating a lot more on her school work than on anything else. She hadn't even been given any real school work to do, but she had always been an overachiever because she was expected to be more than she was. She was so focused on poring over the textbooks her new teachers had given her. At first, she didn't even notice her phone ringing. As soon as it registered, Lyss reached over and picked it up. A frown creased her face as she read the name, and with a small sigh, she answered the call.
"This had better be something important, Morgan." she said as she glanced back at her textbook. Her frown deepened as she listened to him talk, realizing that for whatever reason, he sounded like he was worried about… something. It seemed that there was something wrong with his babysitter. "Stop by the office." she hung up and pushed herself away from the desk, standing up to get another outfit. She put on what she usually wore when she went on a mission, because whatever this one was, it might require something more suitable for movement and maybe even combat.
She picked up the amulet that was hanging on her wall and studied the rhodochrosite gemstone that was forged in pure silver. It had been given to her as a gift and had belonged to her mother, one of the few gifts she had been able to receive from her. Slipping the amulet over her head, Alyssa grabbed a hair tie and pulled her hair into a low ponytail before grabbing her long red coat and leaving her room just as Lady came up the stairs. The woman smiled at Alyssa while she headed to the door.
"You have friends waiting for you." she said before Alyssa nodded and thanked her quietly as she walked past her. She sighed softly when she noticed that her father was gone. Since he always took the hardest and longest missions of everyone in the team, that meant he'd be gone for a week. She would be lying if she said that she wished that he would be around more often. He was a wonderful father, but there were times when he forgot that he still had a family to take care of. Lyss went to the door and pushed it open to find Ethan and Benny standing outside.
"Where did you get the coat?" Benny asked, watching her as she walked past them and closed the door.
"It was my dad's." she explained before heading for the garage. The trio stopped in front of it and Lyss lifted it up to see that Nico was at work on the van. The boys looked at the hunter confusedly as she walked over and kicked the van, startling the gunsmith as she slid out from underneath the vehicle.
"Don't kick my van!" she snapped while Alyssa sighed, scowling. "What do you need?" the older woman asked as she stood up and wiped the oil off of her hands and onto her shirt.
"You got something new for me?" she asked before the gunsmith smiled.
"That I do!" she exclaimed, ignoring the boys for now as she walked over to the workbench and grabbed a surprisingly beautiful weapon. "I'm calling it the 'Ultimatum'. Pretty cool, huh? Your daddy paid for it in full, so it's yours." she said as Alyssa admired the gun, making a little hum before she put it in the hidden holster under her coat.
"Who's this…?" Benny asked and Nico smiled at the boys.
"Nicoletta Goldstein. I work with Alyssa and her dad at Devil May Cry as a gunsmith, though I'm sure you already gathered that." she put her hands on her hips, smiling broadly as Ethan smiled awkwardly.
"So…" he started, looking at Alyssa, "you're really a devil hunter? And your father is…"
"Dante. Son of the demon knight Sparda." Lyss finished before she waved to Nico and turned to leave. "I don't like to advertise it because then people make a big deal out of it and… act like I'm supposed to be this awesome hunter just like my father." she explained, closing the door. She and the boys made their way to town. The quiet road felt more eerie than ever after everything that had happened.
"Sounds like a good way to get street cred." Benny commented before Alyssa raised a fist in his direction, taking him by surprise. "I'm just saying!"
"I don't care about that, unlike you geeks. People will hate you no matter how popular you are," she said with a shake of her head and a lowering of her hand. "It's safer for me to be on the sidelines. Fewer people get hurt that way."
Alyssa kept an eye out for vampires as they entered the town. She hadn't been paying attention to them as the darkness had grown and it had begun to feel colder. The walk through the town was getting tiring and Lyss sighed a bit and looked back at the boys.
"Maybe we should just head back…" she suggested as the boys looked at her.
"She's out here. I can feel it." Ethan said, while Lyss and Benny shared a confused look with each other. Alyssa suddenly looked in front of her as they heard the sound of something being knocked over in an alley. With a frown on her face, Alyssa walked over to the boys. She carefully grabbed her gun and pulled it out of its holster and stalked over to it as the boys quickly caught up to her. She held her gun at the ready, her eyebrows furrowed as she realized that she couldn't see a damn thing, and was about to turn on the flashlight on her gun, but Ethan stopped her.
"Night vision engaged." Benny said as he lifted his camera up to take a look at whatever was in the alley. He froze when he saw what was there and stared at it in fear as Alyssa started to make her way towards it, but Benny stopped her in her tracks.
"What is it?" Ethan asked, but Benny shook his head with a gulp.
"We should go…" he muttered before Ethan took the camera. Alyssa rolled her eyes and turned on the flashlight, hesitating when she saw a girl from their school who was about to take a bite out of a rat. She and the boys let out a scream as the teenager hissed at them, and Ethan made a run for it while Alyssa grabbed the taller geek and dragged him along with her as they began to run after him.
"Holy shit, go!" Alyssa yelled as she pushed the boys to go faster as she turned off the light and managed to run faster than they could. She tripped over a piece of concrete and moaned as she fell to the ground, trying to get up when Ethan grabbed her arm and helped her up.
"We're so dead!" he shouted, catching up to Benny with Alyssa close behind. Unlike them, she wasn't getting winded, but she was starting to get sore from where she'd fallen.
"Speak for yourself!" Benny yelled back as they ran across the street, further from the pursuing vampire. "Remember Halo? Level three?" he shouted as the three of them ran.
"Now is not the time for video games!" Alyssa snapped, checking behind her that no one followed her.
"The battle plan!" Benny shouted, before he tried to do some kind of technique only to fall over a plant pot. Alyssa ran over with a groan, vaulting over it and landing next to him.
"How the hell did I ever get mixed up with you two idiots?" she muttered, leaning against the planter as Ethan caught up with them, using the planter to keep from falling over.
"Sometimes… I just skim through your emails…" he admitted, before helping the taller teen up to his feet. Alyssa was startled by footsteps and turned quickly, pointing the gun as Sarah glared back at the hunter.
"What's your problem?!" she asked as Lyss looked at the boys who hid behind the shorter girl in a panic.
"Hang on!" Ethan shouted nervously as he held up a hand. "If you eat us… that would be so not cool…" the vampire laughed, rolling her eyes.
"If I wanted to eat you, I would have done it by now," she said as the boys started to panic again.
"See?! She's going to eat us! We're doomed!" Benny shouted, while Ethan grabbed a pair of sticks and held them up as if they were a cross. Alyssa rolled her eyes and sighed, lowering the gun.
"No! I just want to talk to you!"
"Then explain yourself. And put the goddamn thing down!" Lyss snapped, taking the sticks from Ethan. She looked at Sarah expectantly and holstered her gun.
"Whatever you saw, it's not what it looks like." she defended while Alyssa scowled.
"You're a freaking vampire! You eat animals and drink their blood!" Ethan shouted while Benny nodded his head in agreement.
"Okay… so it's kind of what it looks like…" she murmured before Alyssa perked up.
"You're… not a full vampire, are you?" she asked before Sarah looked at her.
"Right. I'm still technically a fledgling until I drink human blood… which I really don't want to do…" she admitted, which helped Alyssa relax more. "I have to stop this thing before my mortal body dies or… at least stop it happening to people like Erica."
"So you're not a threat?" Lyss asked as Sarah nodded in agreement. "Then why did you hiss at us like you were going to attack?"
"Because I was upset to have two geeks and a random girl with a gun staring at me," she said as she crossed her arms and Lyss nodded as she rubbed the back of her neck. "Look, we should get out of here. I'm not the only one feeding tonight. I'll take you home."
•¨•.¸¸☆・゚・☆¸¸.•¨•
Alyssa walked into the house with the gang. She finally took off her jacket and tossed it aside.
"Don't you have to go home?" Ethan asked and Lyss shook her head.
"Nah… Dad's on a mission. Looks like he took Trish and my… stepmother Lady doesn't really care if I stay out late as long as I come home alive." she admitted while the boys nodded. She walked with them to the living room and stopped when she saw Jane approaching, trying to hide the holsters on her back so she wouldn't see the gun she carried.
"It's about time." she said as Alyssa rolled her eyes and looked over at Ethan.
"Do you guys have any sweets…? Like… cake? Or cookies?" she asked while the brunette frowned.
"What is it with you and sweets?"
"I got it from my dad." she admitted before he pointed towards the kitchen. She patted him lightly on the arm and made her way to the kitchen, rummaging through the cupboards and the refrigerator. Smiling when she found a hidden box of cookies, she jumped on the counter and opened it to eat. When Sarah walked by, Alyssa gave her a little wave and continued to eat the cookies. She dropped the box and tumbled off the counter when she heard screams.
She ran into the entryway and stopped in her tracks when she saw the vampire she had encountered earlier standing there. She drew her gun and fired at him without hesitation, startling the others as she felt her anger rise again and something begin to surface.
"You mother…!" she shouted, charging at the vampire and tackling him as he laughed at her.
"You've gained some courage since the last time we met." he taunted before she hit him as hard as she could. He yelled angrily and threw her off, but she got up just as he did.
"Don't worry! They're just playing a game!" Ethan told his little sister while the man laughed.
"Yeah, a game called 'whoever tells me where Sarah is first spends the least time screaming'." he said, smiling at the group. Alyssa snarled and prepared to pounce when Sarah came between them and the vampire.
"Can I play too?" she asked before Alyssa quickly joined the boys, grabbing a hold of Jane and pulling her safely behind her as the group slowly retreated.
"Jesse got tired of waiting. So he sent me to find you." he said as Sarah scoffed.
"I guess you really are just the delivery boy." she scoffed as Benny looked at the pizza.
"Look, I'm really hungry… can I just get a slice while you do your whole… vampire trash-talking thing?" he asked before Ethan and Alyssa snapped at him. Showing Ethan the pizza, he reluctantly agreed as the teen opened the box and ran at the vampire, shoving it in before Alyssa quickly led Jane and Ethan upstairs. She urged the girls upstairs before Benny followed, accidentally knocking her down before she kicked the vampire who tried to follow.
"Over my dead body!" she yelled, shooting him in the shoulder and making him scream in pain. Realizing that the bullet had actually done some damage, her eyes widened.
"You bitch!" he yelled as he tried to grab her, but Sarah pushed him away and fought back against him.
"Shoot him again!" Sarah yelled and Lyss took aim and shot him in the thigh as the fledgling managed to get him to the kitchen. Lyss was quickly after them, tripping over the pizza on the floor in her attempt to catch up. "Help!" Sarah yelled as Alyssa grabbed the man and slammed his head into the counter several times, stunning him momentarily while she and Sarah tried to find something to take him out with. Lyss grabbed a cookie from the counter, put it in her mouth and shot him, causing him to stumble in his attempt to get to her.
"I don't know what Nico put in that thing, but DAMN does it work!" she yelled before Sarah yelled her name. Lyss spun right as the vampire slashed her throat, the gun slipping from her grip and clattering to the floor. Alyssa raised her hands to her throat and tried to stop the bleeding as she began to collapse and Sarah ran to her side. She panicked to see Lyss struggling, choking on her own blood as the man laughed.
"Not so tough now." he taunted before the teen attacked him. Alyssa coughed before she could feel her body begin to go cold and numb, the pain slowly fading away as her eyes drifted closed and she went completely limp.
For what felt like hours, she was in a dark void of nothing. Not entirely dead, but not entirely alive. She swore she could hear someone calling her name… but it wasn't a voice she was familiar with. She heard an affectionate, almost maternal voice. She felt everything start to heat up before she shot up, her eyes opening wide as she took a deep breath, coughing out more blood as her wounds began to heal at a rapid pace. She looked down at her body, seeing her own blood across her front and even on her hands, but feeling no pain. She noticed her hair; once pitch black with small white streaks, but now it was completely white, just like her father's. She pushed up and groaned. S She had no idea how long she'd been out, but it had been long enough for her blood to be in the process of drying.
She made her way to the stairs, pausing at the sight of the vampire on the ground with a fork in his skull. He opened his eyes and began to sit up, but she stomped on his throat a few times in a fury that forced him back down before grabbing her gun and shooting him a few more times.
"How do you like that, fucker?!" she screamed, shooting him one last time just to rub it in when he woke up. She ran up the staircase and knocked on the door before it opened to find Sarah staring at her.
"Oh my God, how did you survive that?" she asked before she pulled Alyssa inside. Jane started to scream when she saw Alyssa covered in blood, but Lyss silenced her.
"It's all right!" she assured her before she looked at the teenagers. "Looks like I finally unleashed my potential." She muttered before pressing her back against the door to help them keep it shut. She screamed as the vampire on the other side pounded on the door and shouted at them. She grunted when the door started to open a little, but she pressed her back against the door even harder and slammed it shut as Ethan and Sarah talked to his mother on the phone. Lyss screamed as the vampire's hand burst through the door and grabbed her by the throat, choking her before Sarah could stab him with the trophy.
Alyssa stumbled and rushed to help Jane off the bed as Sarah opened the window. She helped Benny and Ethan out of the room while Alyssa carefully picked Jane up and jumped out of the building, landing on the grass before going after the boys. She set the girl down and held on to her hand as they ran off, stopping only when the man appeared. Lyss shot him in the head and Sarah stabbed him in the chest with a wooden spike, Ethan covering Jane's eyes. Alyssa sighed and carefully put down her gun, then walked over to Sarah and helped her to her feet.
"Are you all right?" she asked as the vampire nodded and sighed.
"Are you?" she asked, but Lyss just shrugged her shoulders and laughed a little.
"Not the greatest experience… at least I'm alive." smiling slightly before looking back at the guys.
The group made their way into the house while Alyssa grabbed her jacket and put it on. She gave Grandma Weir a quick wave as she left the house with a heavy sigh. How would she explain this back home? "Hey! I was attacked by a vampire, and now I'm ready to really live up to my potential!" just didn't sound good. With a shake of her head and a shrug of her shoulders, she pulled out her cell phone and checked the time with a small grimace. Dialing Lady's number, she held the phone to her ear, frowning at no answer.
"The one time that I need her to answer…" she muttered and shook her head. She was just about to dial Trish's number when she received a conference call from Rory and Benny. She rolled her eyes and sighed as she answered the call.
"Alyssa! Wassup!" Rory yelled as Lyss scowled.
"I'm not doing that, you weirdo," she muttered while Benny and Ethan laughed on the other line. "What do you want, blondie?"
"You won't believe this! I am at the hottest party in town!" he exclaimed as Lyss chuckled.
"Okay, who the hell would invite you to a party?" she asked, checking the street before crossing.
"Some seniors invited me! Pretty cool, huh?" he laughed. "Oh, and Benny! Your Dusker babe is here, and she is looking good!" he exclaimed before sending them a photo of her. Alyssa stopped and frowned, staring at the photo.
"Gotta go." she said before hanging up, studying the photo. There was no way she could have seen what she saw… or rather, not seen.

Benny X OC
My Babysitter’s a Vampire
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You’re Special: Part 2
Prompt: This is another Benny x OC fic. In this fic my OC Liz battles her newfound powers and a siren alongside her boyfriend Benny and her best friends. This isn’t based on any specific episode, but is sort of a continuation of part 1.
Warnings: I don’t think there are any
A/N: I’m back at it again with the OC fics. Again there is a part when it briefly switches to 3rd person point of view, but it will be clearly labeled. Tell me if you want me to keep these going.
BEEP BEEP I woke to the sound of my screeching alarm clock. It’s Thursday morning. I got out my clothes for the day and waited and listened for the front door to close down stairs. As soon as I knew my dad was gone to work for the day I sprinted to the bathroom and turned the shower on. I slipped off my bracelet and put it on the sink. Part of me was afraid that I would ruin it if I wore it in the shower. It was a beautiful old leather bracelet with magical symbols carved into it. I got it from my boyfriend’s Grandma to help control my powers. I smiled to myself. Saying my boyfriend was still new and it was a nice feeling. Benny and I had only been dating for about a week now. Being as impatient as I am I hopped in while the water was still cold and bounced around waiting for the water to warm up. The water felt nice splashing against my skin. I felt safe. I had always felt a strong connection to water, but now knowing that I had powers that come from the earth everything was a little bit different.
After my shower I threw my clothes and my bracelet on and rushed to put a little makeup on. I don’t usually wear makeup to school. It’s a little bit annoying to wake up early just to put on makeup. These people see me everyday and we all know that nobody wants to be there anyway. I don’t need makeup for school. I’m just going to sit in front of a white board and projector for about 6 hours. I knew Benny wouldn’t care. He’s seen me without makeup a million times, but today was different. I wanted to look good and feel confident. Today was auditions for the drama club’s annual cabaret. Every year our school has a cabaret to raise money for the drama club. I love drama club. Although I don’t talk about it in front of the boys very much acting really is my passion. Benny knows how much I love it. He loves to do lights for the shows. Although Ethan and Rory always make fun of him he is such a techie. It’s really cute. I love seeing him get excited about all of the special effects that go into theatre. Even before we were dating when we were just best friends we always looked forward to drama club. It was always a good way for us to bond. We would never admit it to Ethan and Rory, but it was special to us.
I quickly ran downstairs, packed my backpack, grabbed a bagel for the go, and headed out the door. I met Benny and Ethan in front of the school with a smile on my face ready to face the day. When I got there they were arguing about the Mandela Effect and wether it was real or not. Typical. They were so into the argument they didn’t even notice me. “Benny, it’s not real. It’s not scientifically possible” Ethan argued. “Okay, Ethan, but you get visions and I have magic!” Benny responds. “And when they run out of fries in the cafeteria I throw a 6.2 on the Richter Scale...I gotta go with Benny on this one” I smile stopping in front of them. The boys look at me. “You’re just saying that because he’s your boyfriend now” Ethan says. “That’s right. She’s my girlfriend. I have a girlfriend” Benny says putting his arm around me. I blush. “Will you just shut up?” I beg him. I can’t help, but smile and giggle. He’s so stupid, but it’s the really cute kind of stupid. Thank God my bracelet is on or the school pipes would explode. Benny looked down at me and smiled. “Why do I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world?” He asks me. I blush like crazy. Usually I’m pretty cool and I’m never speechless, but Benny just puts me at a loss for words. “Guys I’m still here” Ethan breaks me out of my bliss. “Now if only we could get Ethan a girlfriend” Benny pouts at him. “Hey, there’s still hope for Sarah yet. She never actually rejected him” I remind Benny. “I’ll ask her when I’m ready” Ethan defends himself. “You better” I tell him. RING The bell goes off and we head into the school.
By the time I had made it to lunch I was already pretty nervous. The day was halfway over and my audition for the cabaret would be soon. I sat next to Benny while I stared across the cafeteria. Ethan and Rory sat across from me. Sarah and Erica were nowhere to be found because the seniors were on a field trip. I was spacing out big time as I tried to make sure I knew the lyrics to the song I was supposed to sing. “Uh...Earth to Liz” Benny said breaking me out of my thoughts. I shook my head and snapped back to reality “Yes?” I asked. “Does that sound good?” He asked. I looked at him with confusion. “Have you been listening to any of this conversation?” Ethan asked. “Sorry...I just zoned out” I apologize. I feel bad, but I’m nervous about the audition. I feel my leg shake under the table. Benny puts his hand on my knee and looks at me. I stop. “Sorry” I say quietly. “What’s up with you?” Rory asks. I shrug my shoulders. “Aren’t the auditions for that drama club thing today?” Ethan asks. I nod. “I guess I’m just a little nervous” I confess. “You’re gonna do great” Benny promises me. “Yeah! You’re Awesome!” Rory chimes in. “Besides didn’t you get like the lead last year?” Ethan asks. “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I’ll get it every time. Theatre is hard. It’s really competitive” I tell him. I don’t want to talk about it anymore. “Anyway, what’s up?” I ask. “Movie night tomorrow at Ethan’s?” Benny asks. “You know I’m there” I tell the boys. I smile as they start another debate over Star Wars: Episode III and I zone out again. This time I find myself staring at a girl I never really noticed before. I don’t know everyone at our school, but at the same time we don’t go to the biggest school. I feel like I would have at least seen her in passing. She’s probably new. She’s dressed in mostly shades of purple and black and she’s sporting a pretty cool leather jacket. She looks like she radiates so much anger; like she just wants to scream at the world.
RING The last Bell of the day went off and I made my way to the auditorium. I was scheduled to be one of the first auditions. Then I could leave with Benny and Ethan who were waiting for me outside the school. I walked through the door and put my name on the sign in sheet. I’m supposed to go second. At least I’m not first. I looked down to see a name after mine that I didn’t recognize. Who’s going third? I questioned everything when I looked at the name Emily Sirven. I looked around the room and saw the mysterious new girl. It has to be her. The drama club isn’t that big and for the most part I know everyone. I wonder if she’s any good. I walk up to her and try to strike up a conversation. “Hi. I’m Liz. I feel like I’ve never seen you around before. What’s your name?” I ask. “I’m Emily and I’m going to make you feel in a minute” She snaps. I’m not quite sure how to take the oddly vague threat. Is it even a threat? “Liz?” Ms. LOL breaks me out of my thoughts. I turn to her. “You’re up!” She tells me. I hardly noticed the boy before me had even started let alone finished. I took a deep breath as I held onto the pendant on my TARDIS necklace. I rushed up to the stage and got ready to sing one of my favorite musical theatre songs. I belted out As We Stumble Along from the Drowsy Chaperone. The song was funny and powerful. As soon as I started singing I immediately started feeling better. I always feel at home in my singing. As soon as the song ended I left the stage. I pass Emily on my way out and decide to be nice. “Break a leg” I smile at her. “Oh I’m sure you’ll break something” She tells me. What is her problem? I knew I had to stay to see her sing now. I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I stood with my back leaning against the wall and waited for Little Miss Ego to start. “I’m going to be singing an original song” She informs the drama club. Is that even allowed? This a theatre cabaret not an open mic. She started the song and I completely blacked out.
3RD PERSON POV
Benny and Ethan were waiting outside the school for Liz when the entire building started to shake. “What’s going on?!” Ethan shouted over the nicely sized earthquake. Ethan lost his balance and fell to the ground. “We have to find Liz!” Benny responded. He knew his girlfriend was responsible. He grabbed Ethan’s hand and pulled him up, running inside the building. The boys ran to the auditorium, but as soon as they got to the doors the earthquake stopped. They took a quick look at each other and quickly ran inside.
LIZ’S POV
“Liz” I heard Benny and Ethan calling my name while I was being shaken. I opened my eyes to see Benny on his knees in front of me with his hands on my shoulders. Ethan was squatting next to him. I was sitting on the ground against the wall. They looked very concerned. “What happened?” I ask. “I think you started freaking out over your audition” Ethan guess. “No, I already had my audition” I tell them as I try to remember what happened. My head starts to throb. “I have a massive headache though” I say as I rub my head. I watch Ethan look around to see everyone in the drama club struggling to get up. They all seem to be in a daze. New girl is nowhere to be found. I see all of the destruction. “Did I do this?” I ask. I feel like I already know the answer. Ethan gives me a sad look. “Well we don’t know for sure...” Benny tries to make me feel better. I’m scared. I’m afraid of myself. I hate this. “Benny, I wanna go home” I tell him. “We should probably run you past Grandma” He says as he helps me up. I fall into him. “Sorry. I’m a little dizzy” I say trying to regain my balance. “It’s okay. I’ve got you” He says holding me.
Benny kept a hand on my back making sure I was okay no matter how many times I said I was fine. I just had a little bit of a headache. Benny, Ethan, and I made our way up Benny’s porch and into his living room. “Grandma!” Benny yells. I quickly shush my loud mouth boyfriend. I hated telling him to be quiet, but my head was pounding. “Sorry! Grandma!” He whisper yelled as he walked off to find her. I cracked a smile. Ethan walked to the freezer and came back with an ice pack. “Here try this” He said. “Thanks” I say taking the ice pack and placing it on my head. “I wonder what happened to the new girl” I think aloud. “What new girl?” He asks. “There was a new girl in drama club. I think her name was like Emily Sirven or something like that. She’s really annoying. She disappeared when the little earthquake hit. It probably freaked her out” I tell him. “Little earthquake?” I hear Benny’s Grandma come down the stairs with Benny following not far behind her. “My dear, your little earthquake was big enough to make the news” She informs me. “What?!” I ask. I quickly check my phone and she’s right. “I completely blacked out. I don’t even remember it” I confess. “This is worse than I thought” She walks up to me. “Were you wearing your bracelet?” She asks. I nod. She picks up my hand and waves some magic that I won’t pretend to understand over my wrist. “It’s still intact” She says in surprise. “Isn’t that a good thing?” Benny asks. “On the contrary. You must have gone through something truly terrible if you were able to cause an earthquake that scale while wearing your bracelet” She says. I look down at the floor and look up again at her in confusion and fear. “Why don’t I remember anything?” I ask. “Your brain must be protecting you. Maybe the black out was a defense mechanism” She guesses. “I wouldn’t worry about it right now at least.” She tells us. “Something is definitely going on, but we can’t do anything about it this minute” She adds. I sigh. How can I not worry about it right now?
I wake up the next day dreading going to school. The whole day went by so slowly. I just wanted it all to end so I could finally get to movie night at Ethan’s with my friends. I just wanted it to be me, a can of soda, a couple bowls of popcorn, a sci-fi movie, and my best friends. That was the only thought getting me through the day.
By the time we got to lunch I was so ready to leave school. Usually I liked school. I enjoyed learning and I loved seeing my friends even more, but today I felt like the life was just being drained from me. I was in the lunch line with Benny when I saw her again. She was right in front of me. She was humming quietly. It was so infuriating. I had never been angrier. I couldn’t help, but think about the stuff she said to me at the auditions. I had to say something. I could feel this fire boiling in my blood. “Hey, what’s your problem?!” I ask her. Benny looks at me confusion, but I don’t care. Then he grabs my arm gently. “Cool it sparky!” He says in sort of a whisper yell. I look at him with confusion and then I look to the stove. The flames are out of control and the lunch ladies are rapidly trying to put them out. “How did I-“ I’m interrupted by Emily. She pushes me to the ground. “Stay out of my way geek” She sneers. The second she touches me it feels like a thousand knives are being stabbed into my brain. All I can hear is a loud screeching noise. I watch the water fountain on the other side of the cafeteria explode as I scream. Other kids in the cafeteria freak out and take cover from the water. They don’t notice what’s happening to me. I curl my body into a ball as tears start to form in my eyes. My ears are ringing. Benny wraps his arms around me as he tries to speak to me. I can’t hear him and I start to panic. Everything is too much. I can feel the earth below me start to shake and I can feel the heat of the flames in the kitchen next to me. I feel everything. I feel too much. Benny holds me tightly. I hide my face in his chest. I black out.
I shoot awake. My breathing is heavy and I have sweat dripping down my body. I’m in the nurse’s office. I watch as Benny quickly puts his hands on my shoulders to calm me down. He tries to talk to me, but I still can’t hear him. I look outside to see it’s pouring down rain. A flash of lightening hits the ground and the thunder shakes the whole room. I stare out the window breathing heavy. Benny understands and he places a kiss on my forehead before helping me off the cot and out of the nurse’s office. I don’t know where we’re going or what’s happening, but I can’t really ask. Benny leads me to my locker. He opens it and fills my backpack for me. I watch him silently. I try to stay calm as I worry about if my hearing will ever come back. I zone out and suddenly I find Benny putting my arms into my coat. He pulls it around me and zippers it up for me. I watch him sling my backpack over his shoulder. Then he puts my hood up before taking my hand and guiding me outside and through the storm. I jump at a bolt of lightening as I press my body to his. He holds me close as we walk home in the rain.
As soon as we got to Ethan and Benny’s houses we stopped by Benny’s for clothes. Our clothes were wet from the rain. I sat on his bed in soaked clothes while Benny quickly closed the shades in his room to make it darker for me. I think he’s trying not to overload my senses. Then I waited for him to find me a new tee shirt to wear. He held up different options he thought I might like. When he held up the shirt with the Captain America shield I made a hand squeezing motion in an effort to silently say ‘Give me give me’. He smiled and tossed me the shirt. I then walked over to his dresser and sprayed the shirt with the cologne Benny wears that he had stolen from his dad. He gave me a confused look. “I want it to smell like you” I tried to speak. It must have come out as a yell because Benny quickly put his finger to my lips. I could see him laughing at me. I looked up at him as he smiled down at me. I smiled back. Then I pulled his hand away. He gave me a quick kiss and then I changed into his shirt. He changed and we walked next door to Ethan’s.
As soon as we got to Ethan’s Benny led me into Ethan’s closet and shut the door. He probably just wants to help my senses. I started thinking about the time Ethan lost his hearing and he had to sit in his own closet. Then I had a big realization. “Guys I think it might be a Siren!” I said through the door. Benny opened the door with a small white board and a marker. I laughed a little, at least I think I did. I couldn’t hear it, but I obviously felt it. Written on the board was ‘Does this help?’ I nodded. He erased it. He exchanged a few words with Ethan. He seemed to be telling him what to write. Then Benny wrote ‘We think it’s a Siren too’. Ethan and Benny kept talking. I couldn’t hear them. “It’s probably that new girl” I said in what was probably more of a shout again. I watch the boys nod. “Her name was Emily Sirven” I inform them. Ethan takes the board from Benny’s hands. He quickly writes ‘Well Sirven does sound a lot like Siren’. My jaw drops. “Hey, I was a little too preoccupied blacking out or maybe I would have noticed it sooner!” I definitely shouted that time. Benny takes a phone call while Ethan sits with me. He writes on the white board ‘You should probably get your hearing back soon’. “Probably?!” I question him. Benny comes back and takes my hand. He helps me up and guides me out of Ethan’s room. “Where are we going?” I ask. “My house” I see Benny mouth the words. “Your house?” I ask. He nods. We’re probably screaming.
Once we get to Benny’s house I sit down in his kitchen. I feel someone come up behind me and put a hand on my shoulder. I flinch. Benny takes my hand and mouths something I can’t quite understand. I turn around to see it’s just his Grandma. I smile. Her and Benny have a short conversation. I can only assume it’s about what happened to me. Next thing I knew I had Benny putting a pair of noise cancelling headphones on my ears. Benny’s Grandma then touched my head and I could feel a rush of magic go through me. Suddenly I could hear the sound of the blood pumping through my ears, you know the deafening sound you hear when you have noise counseling headphones on. I try to take the headphones off, but Benny puts his hands over mine. Instead he writes a message on a piece of paper. ‘You just got your hearing back all at once. It’s going to be very loud’. I nod. “So when can I take these off?” I suddenly hear how loud my voice was. I must have given a pretty socked face because I can hear Benny laugh through the headphones. I leave them on for a little bit longer. Then I start getting used to letting in more sound little by little.
Benny and I lay on the couch while we watch Supernatural with the subtitles on. He keeps the volume low for me. The headphones are off as this point, but I’m still getting used to having my hearing back. Benny looks down at me, tucking some hair behind my ear and out of my face. “How’s everything?” Benny asks. “It’s a lot better, but I’m still a little freaked out” I confess. “None of the stuff that happened today was your fault” He tried to tell me. “I know...it’s just....I’ve never controlled fire with my powers before...and the rain storm...was that me?” I ask. “Grandma thinks it might be, but you remember what happened last time with Serena. Sirens make your emotions all crazy. It’s not your fault” He reminds me. “Why do Sirens always pick dumb names that just sound like Siren. Like Serena, Sirven, come on. That is so stupid” I laugh. “Yeah what’s up with that? It’s like they’re saying please stop me I’m evil” Benny says as the credits role for the episode. We turn off the TV and decide to head back to Ethan’s for movie night.
I lay on the floor in Benny’s arms. His back is against the couch. Sarah, Ethan, and Rory sit on the couch while Jane is asleep in the chair next to us. Erica is nowhere to be found, probably out for a snack. She didn’t usually join our movie nights. I wish she did. We were watching a what was supposed to be a scary movie, but the only person who was scared was Rory. “Rory, how can you be afraid of this crap? You’re a vampire. You could easily suck that serial killer’s blood. You’re like way scarier than him” I tell him. “Really?” He asks. “Duh” I laugh. “You could beat Bill and his creepy lady with the knife any day” I promise him. “Awesome” I hear Rory say to himself under his breath. I smile as my comment seems to make him feel a little better. I’m exhausted. I guess it’s fair since I did almost rip the entire school apart today. After a long day I fall asleep in Benny’s arms. I don’t wake up until it’s time to go home and go to bed.
I woke up the next day and I knew what I had to do. Tonight is the cabaret. I had to go into dress rehearsal this afternoon and record Emily. Lucky enough I had gotten into the cabaret. I even had the big solo in the group number. If I’m being honest I’m pretty excited. I cannot let a Siren ruin it for me. I changed out of Benny’s shirt and got into the shower. I slept in his shirt. It makes me feel secure. Once I was out of the shower I threw on makeup and changed into something nice. Then I put on my shoes and headed out the door. I was a little nervous, but this was nothing I couldn’t handle and nothing my bracelet couldn’t keep down. Benny wanted to come with me to the dress rehearsal, but I assured him I could handle it on my own. All I have to do is keep my ear plugs in and get a recording of Emily. It’s pretty hard to mess that up, besides I’ve been feeling a little fragile and useless lately because of my newfound powers. I just wanna feel strong again.
The dress rehearsal went perfectly as planned. I got the recording and everything was fine. Now we just have to play it back at her during the cabaret. This could be a little harder. A couple hours passed and the auditorium started to fill up. I was happy the drama club was making so much money, but at the same time I was nervous about what could happen to all of these people. I was scheduled to go on right before Emily. Benny stood backstage with me while Ethan, Rory, Erica, and Sarah we’re getting ready for the fight. “You’re going to be fine” Benny says. “Just fine?” I ask with a laugh. “You’re going to be awesome!” Benny responds. I smile at my boyfriend. What did I do to deserve him? He can be annoying, loud, and obnoxious, but he is also sweet, funny, and a total nerd. He’s perfect for me. Ms. LOL signals for me to cone on stage and I quickly kiss Benny for good luck before walking on. I stand in front of my mic and belt my heart out. I look to the wings at Benny and get lost in the moment. Sarah, Erica, Ethan, and Rory are standing with him. No matter how much has changed and no matter how scary my life is right now I’m so happy doing what I love in front of the people that I love. Right now is the best I’ve felt in a long time. I don’t just feel safe. I feel free.
As soon as I finish the song applause roars through the audience. This does not make Emily happy. She tears onto the stage in fury. She starts to spread her gift. She sings her piercing toon, but she can’t effect me this time. I have ear plugs in. “Why can’t you feel my pain?” She asks. “Why don’t you feel this?” Ethan asks as he plays her own frequency back at her. She screams in pain. She pushes the speaker over and pushes me to the ground. Then she continues to sing. Ethan and Rory run to the sound system while Sarah and Erica try to fight Emily. Benny runs to me. “Are you okay?” He asks. “No!” I shout as I pound my fist into the stage and it shakes. “Liz, it’ll be okay” Benny promises me. I know it will. “I’m tired of feeling weak!” I shout over Emily’s noise. I stand up and I take off my bracelet and nothing goes wrong for once. “What are you doing?” Benny asks. “I’m in control” I say before shooting air from my hands. I shoot Emily with the air and keep her held to the ground long enough for Ethan to set up the sound system. Then he blasts her and she’s done. I collapse onto my knees and Benny runs to me. I watch the curtains close while everyone wears confused faces. They all try to figure out what’s going on. “How did you do that?” Benny asks as he slips my bracelet back onto my wrist. “When I was doing what I loved in front of the people that I loved I just had this emotion that was greater than any fear or any anger or any sadness I could have ever felt. Benny, I think love and happiness give me control” I smile. “You give me control” I tell him as I place my hand on his cheek. He smiles at me and we kiss. Erica makes a gagging noise. I smile and pull away. “Shut up” I tell her. “All I’m saying is that you could do a lot better” She says in her usual tone. I wrap my arms around my boyfriend and smile. Sarah elbows Erica in the arm. “Ow!” Erica exclaims. “But...” Sarah starts for her. “But I’m glad you’re...happy” Erica says through gritted teeth. Benny and I laugh it off. I look at him. “Don’t worry. You’re the best I could ever do” I say before kissing him again. Then we stand up and sit in the back of the auditorium while Ms. LOL apologizes for the weird show. This is just like the Rainbow Factory all over again. We decide to book it and hit the ice cream place on the way home. I sat on the bench under the neon lights with my best friends as I sipped my Chocolate Oreo Malt with my boyfriend’s arm around me. I knew nothing could be better than this.

1 | Guess who's back baby!
Series: Supernatural Squad | Benny Weir
Word count: 3.2k
A/N: ~ means POV changes
"How was it at your mother's over the summer?" My dad asks me as we drive home. "Good, taught me a few new things... Hints why she wanted me to spend the summer with her in the first place." I say making him laugh. "True, I'm sorry she's that way." He smiles over at me. "Ehh it's fine. I prefer you over her." I say making him laugh. "You excited to see the guys? Ethan asked me a few days ago if you'd be back in time for the first day of your freshman year." He sends me a wink. "Yeah, I miss the guys. Dad, I stopped having a crush on Ethan when I was 12. That was three years ago." I laugh as we get closer to home. "But you liked him for five years." He says making me groan, "Dad stop it! I don't like him anymore." I cross my arms. "Sorry, sorry, I'm done." He laughs as we pull up to our house. "I'll grab your things. You go say hi to the boys." He says and I waste no time rushing next door to Ethan's.
As I knock on the door I wait a few minutes before the door is open by Samantha. "Sadie, you're back." She gives me a hug pulling me inside. "ETHAN!" She yells for him. "What? I'm busy!" His voice slowly gets closer along with his footsteps. "SADIE! You're back!" He runs down the stairs pulling me into a tight hug so I hug him back giggling. "I told you I'd be back before the school year starts." I pull back just to hug him again. "DID I HEAR YOU SAY SADIE?!" Jane comes running down too. "There's my favorite girl!" I move from Ethan to pick up Jane spinning her around. "I've missed you so much." She squeezes me. "I've missed you too." I put her down. "Can you hang out with me tonight? I don't wanna be stuck with Ethan and Benny." She begs me. "Of course I will." I say making her cheer. "Until then, I get her." Ethan grabs my hand pulling me up to his room.
Ethan and I met when we were just four years old, so every time Benny and I argue I say I knew Ethan first to shut him up. "So why did you go to your mom's again and how was it?" He asks as we walk into his room. "She wanted to do some mother daughter bonding and it went okay. She taught me a few new things that aren't that all useful." I say plopping down onto his bed. "Do you think spending the summer with her helped your relationship?" He turns to me on his chair. "Nahh, I don't think so. We didn't really get along the whole time but it's okay because I'm back home. I got what I need here, my dad, you, Benny, Jane, Rory, and Erica." I smile laying back in his bed as he plays on his computer.
Few hours pass and I was bored hanging out with Ethan since he wasn't really doing anything with me. "I'm going to hangout with Jane." I leave his room and at the same time the Morgan's head out the door. "Ethan, we are leaving now!" His mother calls out. "Don't worry I'll watch him watch her. Have fun you two." I give them a goodbye smile. "Thank you." Rods says shutting the door. "Can we watch Dusk?" Jane tugs on my arm. "Sure, I'll make us some popcorn." I pat the top of her head heading to the kitchen.
To be honest I didn't know what the big deal was about this movie because I personally found it boring. While the popcorn was popping, Jane got a blanket and a few pillows together so she could sit in front of the tv. Once the popcorn was done, I gave Jane hers then went to go sit on the couch as the movie started. Some ways through the movie Ethan ran downstairs opening the door to let a noisy Benny inside. In his arms he had a huge bag and box talking about how much snacks they have. The dude was so talkative he didn't even notice me as he went into the kitchen with Ethan.
From the couch I watch them toss a lot of junk food onto the dining room table. I shake my head getting off the couch walking over to the open door way. "I still don't understand how you guys eat so much junk yet still look like a twig." I laugh as Benny turns around looking at me. "You're back!" He talks with his hands. "And you didn't tell me when I called you a few minutes ago?" He turns to Ethan. "I forgot." He shrugs his shoulders grabbing ice cream and Benny joins him.
Tumblr media
"What did you do? Rob an ice cream truck?" I ask laughing at them making Benny grin at me. "Tomorrow, we officially join the high school brotherhood." He looks up at me, "And sisterhood. We are men and women. We must mark this moment." He says before they go on about who put the most marshmallows in their mouth in the 5th grade. "Who cares what you two got because I got 190 beating you both." I say walking back over to the couch.
"Hey Ethan, do you hear that?" Jane asks her brother and I listen and hear nothing. "It's probably nothing, Jane. Don't worry about it and if it is something... I'm sure the guys aren't as brave as me. I have to use the restroom, I'll be right back." I smile leaving the room but when I come back Jane was missing. "Jane, are you out here?" I ask walking out front to hear a stick fall. As I walk over to the driveway Jane walks towards the hockey stick then we both look up at the sky before a shoe falls. I wrap my arms around her as the Morgan's pull up.
"Honey? Honey, what's wrong? Are you hurt? What are you doing outside? What happened Sadie?" Samantha asks taking Jane from me. "I came back from the bathroom and she wasn't watching the movie anymore. I came to check outside then found her scared." I explain as she yells for Ethan who runs out the door spitting out marshmallows while Benny waves with his mouth full.
Tumblr media
"Thank you for keeping an eye on her. You should head home and get rest for your first day tomorrow." She rubs my arm. "Of course, have a good night. And Jane, get a good night rest. It was nothing... Just someone pulling a prank, okay." I bend down to her level and she nods her head. "See you two losers tomorrow." I wave to the guys walking next door to my house.
When I walked inside dad asked me how was it seeing the guys and I explained everything that happened up to now. "Did Jane see anything else other then the shoe falling from the sky?" He asks worried. "Nope, I tried to convince her it was just a prank someone was pulling." He nods his head. "That's better than telling her vampires exist. Also it's late and you need to get to bed. Your first day at high school starts and it's a new chapter of your life." He kisses the top of my head. "You know, I thought the high school chapter would have happened first over the supernatural chapter." I say making him laugh as I walk towards the stairs. "Now life would be to easy that way. Goodnight sweetheart." He say as I walk up to my room.
~
As Ethan and Benny went back inside after his parents slightly got on him they had to clean up their mess. "How do you forget to tell me Sadie was back home?" Benny hits Ethan's arm making him rub it. "Ouch, because for a moment I forgot she was back since she left my room to hangout with Jane. Also last time I talked about her when she was gone you told me to stop talking about her." Ethan explains as he throws away the marshmallows that were on the floor. "Well because when she left for the summer she didn't say goodbye to me like she did with you." Benny crosses his arms. "You weren't home Benny and she was in a rush to leave. You remember her mom right? Not the nicest person out there." Ethan has to remind one of his best friends.
"Plus with me making fun of you saying you must like her because you were so upset about it made you even more grumpy." Ethan says cleaning up the most. "I didn't and still don't like her." Benny says even though he knew he was lying just a hair. He couldn't help it but feel slightly happy when Sadie was around him. Yes, they both would have dumb playful arguments about stupid things, but they were best friends and that was his way of flirting with her slightly.
"You're the one that likes her." Benny says in a mocking tone starting to clean. "Liked, past tense." Ethan corrected him making Benny surprised. "I was joking because how close you two are. You actually liked her?" His eyes widen. "Yeah, I just didn't tell you because I thought you had a small crush on her too." Ethan says making Benny laugh, "Yeah, she's not really my type." It was Ethan's turn to laugh, "Girl is your type."
~
Tumblr media
"Good morning." I smile walking up to the guys outside of the school. "Did you have to look slightly better than us?" Benny asks motioning at my outfit. "What? What's wrong with my outfit?" I look at my clothes. "I think he means you're not dressed like you did in middle school. Jeans, a t-shirt, and your jacket you wore 24/7 never taking off even when it was hot." Ethan explains to me. "Well yeah... I mean, it's the first day of high school and it's just a sweater. I'm not super dressed up. Also are you allowed to babysit Jane anyone after last night?" I ask him, making him groan before explaining to us about how his parents are now getting a babysitter for them.
"A babysitter? For you? Classic." Benny laughed as the three of us walked down the hall making Ethan shush him. "Keep it down man. That kind of information could totally ruin a guy's rep, and it's not for me, it's for Jane." Ethan defended himself. "Ethan I hate saying this but if Benny knows... The whole school might as well know too. Plus I mean if it gets out... it's your fault for not watching your sister." I pat his back. "What do you mean? I'm good at secrets. I didn't tell you that Ethan liked you when we were younger." Benny smiles then catches what he just said. "Dude! Actually it's good I never told you when we were younger. He literally found out about it last night." Ethan shakes his head. "I love how you prove my point. Also since that just came out... I also liked you when we were younger. Great no more secrets."
"Okay... Well on the positive side, one of theses primo high school babes could totally be at your house tonight." Benny winked at a girl as she walked past us. "Hey hot stuff." I shake my head at him as Ethan tells him about all he knows is her name is Erica. I was going to say I know an Erica but the three of us turn to see the principal putting up a missing teen poster. "Hey, principal Hicks." A groups of older guys walk up to him. "Let me give you a hand." One takes the coffee out of his hand. "Oh thank you Jesse." He lets the boy hold his coffee before taking a drink of it. "That's not normal." I whisper to the guys watch the boy feeling at unease as the principal repeats him like he was in a trance. Jesse smirks in our direction then winks at me as him and his group follows him. "Boys in drama club always making a scene." The principal chuckles so we do too.
Tumblr media
"Okay, for one, that was odd. Two, who was he winking at because we were the only three watching him. There's no hot girls around." Benny looks around making me glare at him, "Very true but I'm kinda cute so I'm guessing he winked at me." I laugh walking away from the two of them going to class. Great, I have no clue where this classroom is... "You look a little lost." A girl walks up to me. "I sorta am. As you can tell this is my first year here and I don't know where some classes are." I look down the halls. "Let me help you, I'm Sarah." She takes my schedule out of my hands. "Thank you, I'm Sadie." I give her a smile before she helps me out.
Tumblr media
When it came time for lunch Sarah had me walk with her to give me tips about the cafeteria. "I'm getting away from you guys or I am doomed to be." I hear Ethan as we get closer to the line and just like that he dumps his tray on her. "Dork! Thank you so much." She shouts walking away and I look at her then the guys. "That is one babe-tastic tower of Babe-alon." Benny puts on his goggles. "Oh hey there you." Benny smiles at me. "Oh hey there loser." I give him a big fake smile. "Sadie, you're back. H-iii." Rory smiles at me making Benny give him a disgusted look. "As much as I would love to eat with you three... I'm going to check on Sarah." I leave the three of them going over to Sarah and Erica.
"There's my little Sadie. I'm glad you're back home." Erica reaches her hand out for me to grab as I sit down. "Your little Sadie?" Sarah laughs. "She used to babysit me when I was younger." I laugh giving Erica's hand a squeeze. "She's like a younger sister to me." Erica explains to her. "Oh Sarah, I have an extra shirt in my bag if you wanna put it on." I say and she says yes.
~
"No way, Sadie knows that babe you branded who is friends with hot Dusker girl, Erica. You know I used to think Sadie was Princess Leia to my Han Solo." Benny sees Sadie sitting with the girls. "Thought you never liked her?" Ethan laughs at his friend. "I thought that before I met her but then she turned out annoying. Hey, maybe Erica is your babysitter for tonight?" Benny rolls his eyes. "Okay, first in no universe are you Han, and I think you are lying about liking Sadie because you keep giving her certain looks when she's not looking at you." Ethan looks from the girls to his best friend. "I don't like her! How many times do I have to tell you? Also I'm gonna find out if it's the same Erica." Benny gets up walking over to the girls.
Benny sat down next to Sadie nudging her shoulder giving her a wink turning to the older girls. "Hi there, are you by any chance babysitting the Morgan's tonight?" Benny asks Erica leaning back into Sadie making her push him off her. "Yeah. Why, do you know their kids?" Erica asked him. "Yeah, one of them's our buddy sitting right over there. He's a bit shy, see you around. Bye Sades." Benny looks over at Ethan hiding his face before telling the girls goodbye.
Tumblr media
~
"You're friends with the nerd who spilled his lunch on me?" Sarah laughs as I look over at the boys. "Yeah since I was four. Do you want my shirt now?" I changed the subject. "Oh I forgot. Thank you so much Sadie." She takes the shirt from me. "No problem. I'm going to go sit with my nerds. See you around." I stand up with them but go a different way from them. "I didn't know you were cool." Benny says as I sit next to Ethan and once again I fake laugh. "I always thought she was cool. Way more than you two." Rory says, making me smile, "Thank you Rory." Benny rolls his eyes at me.
"You're just jelly I'm closer to your future wife than you will ever be." I send Benny a wink making him wink back, "Very funny. How do you know Erica anyways?" He rested his head in his hands. "Babysat me when I was younger. She calls me her little sister at times." I explain to him. "Maybe I am jelly." He says as I get up heading to my next class. "Oh I'm sorry." I bump into someone looking up to see Jesse. "It's okay...." He says looking for my name. "Sadie." I tell him. "It's okay, Sadie. Also I saw your friends with Sarah... So I was wondering if you wanted to come to my party tonight? It's going to be fun and we are having a buffet at midnight. Think about it." He smiles walking away with his group.
-After School-
I was walking with Erica talking about how I was going to be at the Morgan's when she comes over to babysit. "That's nice, maybe you can help me make it feel like when you were younger." She said as we walked towards Sarah and Jesse. "Jesse, Sarah said you weren't a big fan of vampire movies." She speeds up some making me too. "I love vampires. That's exactly what I told her. Oh, hello again, Sadie." Jesse smiles at me as I stand by Erica before Sarah walks off.
"Okay. I'll see you around? Dusk forever!" Erica shouts at her. "Hope to see you two at the screening." One of Jesse's friends smiles at Erica. "Don't forget, Sadie. Hope to see you tonight." Jesse says getting in his car. "See you Erica." I walk over to the guys. "Can I come?" Rory asks them, only making Ethan and Benny say no. I was going to tell them don't be rude but Jesse drives by fast scaring the guys. "Watch it, nerds and pretty lady!" Jesse's friend shouts at us.
"When did you talk to the drama club?" Ethan turns to me. "Oh right after I left you guys during lunch. Jesse invited me to his party tonight. Even though he's creepy, it's tempting to go." I tell him the truth. "Now you wanna be a drama geek?" Benny turns to me. "No, I wanna go to a party where an upperclassmen invited me to. A creepy but cute upperclassmen." I bat my eyes at him before heading home.

2 | Vampire's are real?!
Series: Supernatural Squad | Benny Weir
Word count: 3k
A/N: ~ means POV changes
"Thought you wanted to go to that party?" Ethan asked as I walked into his room. "Thought about it but I'd rather spend my time with my two nerds." I lay down on his bed opening a comic book. "You're a nerd too." He looks back at me. "I prefer geek thank you very much. Plus I don't know anyone there and the guys creep me out. You and Benny on the other hand are my best friends that I love." I make a kissy face before going back to his comic.
"Question, You know how you said you liked me when we were younger... Have you ever had a crush on Benny?" He asks, making me laugh. "I mean right before I became friends with him. I thought he was cute but after knowing him, he was annoying." I say not looking up from the comic. "Why did you ask?" I look over at him. "Was just curious." I nod my head.
~
"Hey man, any sign of the babe-o-sitter yet?" Benny asked as Ethan answered the computer. "No, I'm staying in my room as a form of protest." Sadie shakes her head. "Well I'm not. First sigh of Babezilla approaching and I am there because Sadie wants to go to that dumb party. I still can't believe she's taking up that creeps invite instead of hanging out with us. I thought she liked us? I mean, I get that I'm being a little more rude while being playful but..." Benny says not knowing Sadie was in fact in the room with Ethan. Sadie looks over at the computer shaking her head, "Actually.." Ethan starts but Sadie finishes, "I'm here and not at the party." She leaned into frame as she got off the bed.
"I'm going to hangout with Jane... Then maybe go to Jesse's party." She smiles leaving Ethan's room. Sadie knew that Benny was the playful type because that's how their friendship worked. "Dude! You could have stopped me. I didn't know she was in the room." Benny growls at his friend. "Why? You didn't say anything you wouldn't say to her face." Ethan laughs not understanding why he panicked. "It's rude to talk about people behind their backs and it's terrible when they hear it. Plus I almost said something I don't want her to hear." Benny hangs up on him.
~
Again downstairs Jane was making me watch Dusk again making me wish I either didn't come down or wish I went to the party. While slightly falling asleep, I was up when we all heard a loud thud. As they answer the door I hear Sarah's voice so I jump up, "Sarah." I smile as Jane introduces herself then Ethan comes running down. His jaw drops when he sees her and I hold back my laugh then Jane drags Sarah to play a game with us.
"What happened to Erica coming?" I ask Sarah as Jane goes through the freezer. "Yeah, umm... I need to talk to you about something." She gets closer to me. "She went to Jesse's party which I'm glad you didn't go to. Also umm I'm sure you probably know he's different along with everyone else since he knows you're a witch." She says making my eyes widen. "I mean I had a feeling but how does he know about me? Also I'm a seer too but that stuff I don't understand." I sigh looking over at Jane. "Erica is in trouble and I need to help her. It would be nice if you could help since I'm lucky to run into you. Also your secret's safe with me."
Finally Jane found her dad's secret stash of fudgsicles and was proud of herself. When she heard Ethan coming she ran into him making it look like he pooped his pants from the front. "Nice, I guess now we're even." Sarah smiled as he passed her the bandages then they both went for the door as there was a knock. "I got pop, chips, and the first season of the Blood Sucker Diaries." Benny shuts up as he sees Sarah who asks for the bathroom. "It's down that hall there to the left." I answer for him and she nods her head taking me with her.
~
"Dude, isn't that your robo-babe from school?" Benny takes his fake teeth out. "Yes, I guess Erica couldn't come, so she sent her instead. I get you thought she was coming but why choose that show?" Ethan asks as they walk to the kitchen. "Well Sades here too so I brought her favorite show." Benny explains putting it on the counter. "She hates that show and when did you start calling her Sades? That was my name for her first." Ethan looks at his friend confused.
"Well after finding out she's close with Erica I thought she would end up liking it, and what's wrong with me using that nickname too?" He looks over at Sadie outside the bathroom door with Jane. "Nothing, it's just something I made up for her first so it's a thing between us." Ethan makes a face that looks like a pout. "Stop whining, it makes you look like a baby. Not only that you look like one who pooped his pants from the front. Nice job by the way." Benny says looking at his friend. "It's fudgsicle."
~
"Hey it's me, give me the usual and supersize that puppy. I'm next door and it's exactly seven nineteen and you have thirty minutes or it's free. Engage!" Benny hangs up the phone as I walk over to him. "It's so cute that your love for pizza is so big. It never fails to make me laugh." I lean up to wrap an arm around his shoulder making him look at me with wide eyes.
"You calling me cute?" He smirks, making me roll my eyes removing my arm, "I said your love for pizza not you, you dork." He laughs wrapping his arm around me. "It's basically the same thing. It's okay if you have a crush on me." He says, making me crack up, "As if!" I remove myself from him as Ethan comes up to us looking like he saw a ghost. "I just saw Sarah, she was - she was in front of the mirror but not in it!" Ethan was panicking and I figured out she was probably a fledgling while Benny joked with Ethan.
"Dude, I'm serious. Her reflection was all wonky. She's not normal, okay? She's like a- ugh, you believe me, Sadie right?" He asks me right before Sarah comes back. "Hey look, you guys don't really need a sitter do you?" Sarah walks up to us and Ethan tells her no. "Okay good, I need to find my friend Erica. I think she's in trouble." Sarah gave me a look and I knew she wanted me to help.
"Um, maybe I should come with you, for you know protection? Ethan says, making me giggle at the look Benny gave him. "You're supposed to have his back not give him that look." I smack Benny's arm making him rub it as Ethan gasped probably having a vision. Months back Benny's grandma told me that the guys were special like me. Ethan was a seer and Benny was a first level spell master. She just wasn't going to tell them till it was the right moment.
As Sarah starts to back away towards the door I say that I should get going too. "Jesse invited me to his party and I'm curious about it. If it's not all it seems, I'll just come back. See you guys." We both say going out the back door. "You think we can make a pit stop before going to Jesse's? I need a rat..." She says as we walk away from the house. "Sure."

"I can't believe she is actually going to that party. What is there that's not here? I'm good looking, I'm tall, older than her, can drive, and I can be dramatic." Benny throws a fit making Ethan laugh, "Like you are right now over something that's not that big. Unless you keep lying..." Benny just glares at him. "If you keep going on about that topic... I will kill you."
"Any who, I'm telling you, I just saw something... She's not normal and I'm gonna find out what's going on." Ethan stated, now worried about Sadie's safety since she had just left with Sarah. Benny nodded, "Alright, undercover brothers on a mission, I like it, but aren't you forgetting something?"
Benny and Ethan walked the streets searching for Sarah and Sadie, trying to be as quiet as they could. But Ethan knew that with Benny being quiet wasn't an option. After minutes of walking, Benny was getting tired, "It's hopeless, we lost them. Must. Have. Pizza." Ethan just shook his head, "One, Sadie is our best friend so we can't stop looking for her. So you want pizza more than Sadie being okay... You have issues. So tell me, do you care if she's dead or not?"
Benny makes a face stomping his foot down, "Of course I care about her more than pizza. She's my other best friend that means a lot to me... but are they even out here?" Benny asks looking around. "She's out here, I - I feel it," Suddenly, they heard some noises coming from behind them, "Shh, there's something in the alley,"
"Night vision engaged," Benny smirked, saying that what he brought would be useful. He turned on the night vision, and was speechless at the sight before him, his eyes widened and he kept looking back and forth to check if it wasn't his imagination.

"Benny, what?" Ethan was getting impatient. "We should leave, we should leave right now," Benny could hardly get any words out as he stared at the creature in the alley. Ethan looked through the night vision and both boys screamed with horror, Sarah hissed at them. Ethan started to run away but had to run back to drag Benny with him; he was frozen with fear, screaming on the spot. "We are so dead!" Ethan screamed as he ran. "Speak for yourself! Skinny guy coming through! Warp nine!" Benny yells while running. "Help! My babysitter's a vampire!" Ethan cries out.
"Remember Halo, level 3," Benny explains, running out of breath, "The battle plan I sent you? Evasive manoeuvres." He yelled as he continued running, "Alpha phi strike delta six, Engage!" Benny started to do some rolls and fell as Ethan caught up with him. "You missed the pattern!" He said from the floor. "Sometimes, I just skim your emails," Ethan told him, breathing heavily. "Fair enough." Ethan helped Benny up. "What's your problem?" Sarah yelled coming up to them. Ethan's voice shook with fear, "Hold on, if you eat us, that would so not be cool." She makes a face, "If I wanted to eat you, I would have done It by now." She tells them. "See she's gonna eat us, we're doomed!" Benny yelled

While Sarah went off to catch a rat to eat I walked around waiting, not really wanting to watch her hunt for one. After some time I hear two high pitch screams, recognizing them by heart I head off towards them. Soon I catch up to the three walking up from behind the guys. "I'm warning you, I had garlic bread for lunch and I am not afraid to use my breath!" Benny started breathing at her, he then paused, "Where's Sadie?! Oh my god, you ate her! You killed her, No! I'm still not sure-" Benny goes off before I cut in. "What are you not sure about? To be happy or sad?" I scare him and Ethan. "You're not dead! Thank god!" They run over to me wrapping their arms around me. "Yes, I'm alive, now can you two back off?" I try pushing them away. "I was just giving Sarah some space to go grab a bite while I wait for her." I explain to them.
"Look, I'm just a normal girl okay?" Sarah explained, "At least I was till I got bit by my crummy ex-boyfriend! I'm technically still a fledgling until I drink human blood, which I really don't want to do... so," The boys calmed down a bit after that, "I have to figure out how to stop this thing before my mortal body dies, or at least stop it from happening to more people like Erica."
When we get back to Ethan's, Benny's grandma was asleep while Jane was watching tv. Once Jane saw us she begged for Sarah and me to play with her, to which Sarah said she couldn't but I could. "Whatever you do, do not invite a vampire into your house. It's your only safe haven. Sadie, I would ask you to come but I need you to make sure they don't do anything stupid." Sarah says as she walks to the door.
"Got it, make sure Erica is okay... She's like an older sister." Sarah nods her head before leaving us. "I knew you never wanted to go to that party." Benny gets a big smile on his face. "I actually did at first before knowing Jesse was a vamp." I say making him lose his smile then the doorbell rang. "Pizza dude is so late! Bonus!" Benny ran towards the door and I didn't get to tell him not to let him in. "Come on in, bro." He tells the guy. "BENNY!" I shout at him but he shrugs his shoulders. "Oh man, this is gonna taste so much better cuz it's free. Sorry dude, but I am just dying for a bite." Benny tells him and I knew he was a Vamp. "So am I." He shows his fangs making the boys yell as I grab Jane.

"Jane, it's okay, he's just playing a game." I hold her close to me. "Yeah, a game. Whoever tells me where Sarah is first, spends less time screaming." He walked towards us before Sarah got in front of us. "Jesse got tired of waiting, so he sent me to come pick you up. Also the little witch behind you. He's sad you haven't shown up yet." He smirks at us and the guys look at me. "Guess you are just the delivery boy after all," Sarah replied, as we continued backing up. The pizza guy chuckled, "At least I know whose side I'm on, fledgling," He snarled.
"Okay, um, can I just grab a slice whilst you do your whole vampire trash talk thing?" Benny says, making us look at him, "Benny!" Ethan and I whisper-yelled. "What? If I'm going to have a last meal, I want it to be the Italiano Deluxe," Benny said, and we got the hint. "Right," Ethan awkwardly chuckled, "The Italiano Deluxe, with extra garlic!" He shouted as Benny threw the pizza onto the vampire.
"Go, go, go!" He screamed, as we all ran upstairs aside from Sarah, who stayed down there to fight. We ran into Ethan's room and slammed the door shut, "I don't think she's winning!" said Ethan, with his back against the door while I sat on the bed with Jane trying to calm her down. "Of course she's not winning! She's not a real vampire yet." Benny tells him. "She's a vampire?" Jane asks and we don't answer. "Why is the pizza guy acting all crazy?" Jane asks us. "He's just upset about not getting paid. It will be fine." I lie to her as glass breaks downstairs then her and Ethan make a deal.
"Someone's coming! Quick c'mon!" The guys pushed the bed against the door, trying to move as fast as they could. "Let me in, hurry!" Yelled Sarah from the other side, so they moved the bed back. She came into the room and slammed the door shut behind her. "Where is he?" I ask her, going to hold the door too. "Let's just say I introduced him to some of your mom's good silverware." She tells Ethan. We heard the pizza guy moving around downstairs and started to panic. "What do you have for weapons?" Sarah asked. Ethan stuttered before looking around his room for anything sharp. Benny joined him in searching while I leaned against the door next to Sarah. "How about this?" Ethan said, handing Sarah a trophy. "A debating trophy?!" Her and me yelled in disbelief. "It's the pointiest!"
As they try to find more things to use as a weapon I try to think of any spells that would help us. "Guy's he's coming, hurry!" Sarah shouted, as the pizza guy neared the door. "Did anybody ever tell you, you are a really bad babysitter?" Ethan tells her. "I'm new at this!" The phone started ringing from the bed so Ethan stopped to pick it up, it was his mom. He spoke to her for a couple of minutes until he handed the phone to Sarah.
"You know, I'm not entirely sure I heard right downstairs... but you know any spells to help us out here?" Benny asks me. "I've been thinking! Don't pressure me!" I shout at him thinking harder. "How do I pronounce it again?" I snap my finger. "Colloportus." I move my hands at the door. "What was that?" Ethan asked. "I lock/seal your door and it can't be opened by conventional means."
"Why can he do that!?" Benny screams as the pizza guy punches a hole through the door. "Because it doesn't make it unbreakable, just unopenable." I explain as he hides behind me holding onto my shoulders. "Give me that!" I take the trophy stabbing the pizza guy's hand. "Go, go." I point to the window and we rush out. As the four of us ran to the front of the house, he appeared in front of us, hissing, causing us to huddle together in fear. Luckily, Sarah surprise attacked him and stabbed him with what looked like a stake. So Ethan and I shielded Jane's eyes. "Okay, she may be a lousy babysitter, but that was the bomb!"
