Mikumi National Park offer spectacular concentration of variety of animals in Mkata flood plain including four of the big five, elephant, buffalo, Lion and Leopard. Herds of Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala and giraffes are common sight on the plain.

Lion Pride at Mikumi NP Mikumi National Park was so densely-packed with animals that it totally blew away many other African parks. And to top it all off - we came across a pride of lions that was 15-strong. We saw them at the beginning of the game drive in the morning and then later at the end of the daylong drive - and they haven’t moved at all. The 15 lions included 4 adult females and the rest being cubs of various ages (all over a year old). They lounged under a large tree, just taking turns to reposition themselves under the shade. Some younger ones played around while mothers mostly slept.
