can I ask for Momo from Stray, in which the reader (human, gender neutral) and Momo go out on a date but reader feels uncomfortable from all the stares since they're human, so they go back home and momo eases their tension by coaxing or hugging/holding them? can be romantic or platonic, either one works!! hope this is enough to count for a request 🥺

i heart momo

"hey, momo?" you stare into the broken & dusty mirror, inspecting yourself the best you could. you didn't bother cleaning it due to the hazardous cracks accompanied by the lack of care you'd be able to receive here, if any at all. it's been quite a few years since you found yourself in this chaotic city, hiding within the shadows and your own flat for safety. that was until momo found you, coaxing you out of your messy abode and promising you company. you obviously took it with a little bit of hesitance, given he was literally no harm at all. and here you were… getting ready to have a date with him. time flies by fast, doesn't it?

momo turned to you, the smile on his screen quickly turning upside down seeing your nervous expression. "do you think it'll be okay?" you smooth out your clothes, "it" referring to the upcoming events. due to being the only human here, you weren't sure if the other robots would take well to that. and most importantly, you didn't want momo to be looked down upon even more. "we'll give it a shot." your boyfriend replied cooly, giving a small thumbs-up. momo had the same anxiousness as you did, but you couldn't necessarily tell.

you didn't really have anything nice to dress in. in fact, this was what your own kind would consider casual wear. but what could you do? the options here were quite limited and you'd frequently borrow momo's clothes, not that he minds though.

momo adjusts his hat as you head out the door, ready for your not-so-fancy date. you two had settled on a nearby bar, which didn't really ease your anxiety. but how else would you ever be able to survive here in the long run if you didn't attempt to break out of your shell and socialize?

taking hold of his cold, robotic hand, you follow a little slowly as momo leads the way to your destination. although very cold and rough, his hand was comforting you in ways that eased your tension quite a bit.

your walk was mostly completely silent, enjoying each other's presence. you'd hear the occasional robot chatter and strange creature move away upon hearing your footsteps, but other than that... you two were alone in the neon lights.

although run-down and dirty, you admired the scenery. the lights were beautiful and not to mention momo being there brought that up by ten points.

as he swings opens the door leading into the bar, you walk in first. you didn't have much expectations for a bar in this environment, but you were quite happy with the way it turned out. it wasn't all that bad, but that wasn't your fear, no. the robots that were previously minding their business turned their heads toward you, giving you a good stare-down.

momo followed in behind you, resting a reassuring hand on your shoulder. the stares really dug into you, eating you out from the inside. not to mention the faint whispers you could hear, presumably about how a human just entered.

you knew this would happen- you entirely expected it, actually. but that still doesn't take away from the fact it made you so scared and a little ashamed. you had walked in accompanied by a robot, too, did they really think you were any harm?

"just take a seat," momo whispered behind you, taking hold of your sweaty hand and pulling you away from everyone else. not that it would matter, their eyes followed you, muttering about how you were a human.

"momo we need to leave-" he gives you an apologetic look, which just ends up being a :'( displayed on his face. although a little disappointing, your date had to end early, it was becoming too much for you. you would be super unable to eat or consume anything without being utterly anxious. not to mention if they confronted you? yeah, no. you weren't ready for that yet.

and momo totally understands. he nods his head, accompanying you out the doors. you could hear faint words being called out to him, but you didn't bother listening. "i'm sorry," momo apologizes for the outcome and grabs your hand, rubbing circles with his thumb.

"it's... fine. it's not your fault." some day, maybe you'll have enough courage to go out in public and face your fears. but for now, you'll be stuck inside with momo helping you every inch of the way.

finally reaching momo's flat, you flop onto the couch, holding a rough pillow tightly. you felt tears prick the corners of your eyes, stuck wondering about what the other robots in the bar had said about you once you left. "hey hey, it'll be fine, don't cry," momo slowly pulls the pillow out of your grasp, replacing it with his own body.

you hold onto momo tighter, lightly crying into his shirt. he slowly pats your head, giving you a gentle nudge in replace of a kiss. you didn't have to say anything- momo knew what you needed most. "we'll get there, it'll be fine," he reassured you, rubbing up and down your back.

you managed to whimper out a small "thank you", prompting momo to cling onto you a little more tighter than usual. and he doesn't plan on letting go anytime soon.
