Utsuho took Naoi's claims of divinity at face value, he also hypnotized her to believe she was a wash basin, but then, they mostly got along and were friendly, even if she was kind of clueless. They got into mischief trying to break into a building, thinking they'll uncover the secrets of those in charge, and got thrown out on the street for their efforts. ^^;;; Next attempt was more subtle.

he's not making it out of this one but i'd like to talk about naoi anyway cause he's my boy (it's been a hot minute since i've watched the anime, forgive me):

angel beats! is a pretty good anime for edge content, most of the characters aren't edgy themselves but the overall premise is teenagers who died after some sort of terrible/traumatic life that are given an afterlife in a school. the main character group fights against an "angel" because they want to stay in the afterlife instead of moving on. the school is also populated with "npcs", basically just people who aren't real people but exist to make the afterlife feel more real than if it were just the handful of actually dead children,

(if you haven't watched angel beats! and want to do so without hearing specific plot points, below there be spoilers)

anyway naoi in his life was neglected in favor of his twin brother, his twin brother is skilled in the family trade of pottery and he is not. one day his twin dies and his parents declare HIM to be the dead one and have him just.. replace the dead twin. iirc he spends the rest of his life struggling to create things that are never good enough for his family.

naturally in the afterlife he decides it's time to become god! (which for him means being the student council president), he does things like learn to hypnotize and beat the shit out of npcs (who are harmless. iirc the goal of this is that the violence will keep him from being at peace and moving on), and goes full tyrant over the school. he MASSACRES the main character group (they're already dead so it's ok, they get better). he is stopped when the mc actually acknowledges him and tells him he did his best (the poor boy really just needed to be loved), and from then on he is kind of a comic relief tag-along who is very dedicated to the main character but still thinks of himself as god and is willing to snap on absolutely anyone else
