I just read your thoughts about Scarabia and Leona's arc development in game, and I got very interested.

There's very little info on Arabian culture online, at least that I've seen, and also African. A thing that makes me very curious is about their mythologies, folklore, and also music. We know a lot about food, since it's something so universal, but the rest is hard to get info on, unless it gets popularized or romanticized by someone else.

The scarabia arc is one of my favorites for a reason, and that is because I'm very sympathetic with Jamil, and very sad how his and Kalim's story together got so "twisted" so fast (ehe). Honestly there are so many layers to it that it would take many many chapters, and events, to close the situation. But I think it's good they left the future open like that, since it's something that can't be fixed overnight.

And also, *gets down* PLS PLS PLS PLS 🙏 I love the fluffy fics, are you going to also add Bolllywood songs? They are so good seriously it's so dancing and fun! I love Jamil so much and I MELTED with the headcanon short fic where we are taking care of him. I wanna hold his precious handsome face and just kiss it all over! He is so cute I will go FERAL-

hey qamar 💕 this was a pleasure to read! honestly, i feel like both the scarabia and savannaclaw chapters were too short? of course, we were introduced to the themes and then the whole conflict—resolution mountain for stories, however i just feel like they could have done more with the both of them.

also, i think the reason why the southwest-asian and african themes aren’t covered is because the source material is literally disney films 💀 like we get a warning before rewatching aladdin since they just now realized it was kind of racist (still a major part of my childhood though 😭 “a whole new world” in arabic is delicious). based on how yana has written other characters that are meant to be from south asia, there’s a big chance it would have been disappointing anyways.

plus, with scarabia in particular, there’s too many cultures trying to be represented due to how colonizers deemed all of the countries to be the same thing in different fonts 💀 you’d never confuse a nepali with an omani, but winston churchill sure did not care.

the original aladdin movie was meant to take place in baghdad, a city in iraq, but due to political conflicts at the time (george bush a war criminal regardless of saddam hussein’s crimes. the usa literally gave saddam weapons to kill kurds and then turned around and invaded when he wasn’t convenient anymore 💀). baghdad became agrabah—but the culture is still an amalgamation of west asian, south asian, north african, and like eurasian/turkish culture. im sure they’ve got stuff from central asia too 😭

the issue with this is that from ethnic group to ethnic group/country to country, the culture varies a lot. yemenis and palestinians are both arabs, but our cultures are vastly different, with yemenis having more eastern african influences and palestinians having mediterranean influences. i personally headcanon the scarabia duo as arab, but honestly, they could be from anywhere. for all we know, kalim is afghan and jamil is tunisian—it’s all up in the air due to the original source material. but i digress!! i rambled a lot 😭

ON THE BOLLYWOOD NOTE! omg this brought so many good memories back. we used to watch bollywood films with shitty arabic dubs 🥹 i miss those days. i love that idea and ive always wanted to write bollywood inspired fics, like based on the crazy and unrealistic romantic moments in bollywood. it’s just so much fun lmao. honestly, i think that’s a great idea especially when so many bollywood songs just lead the listener through a story anyways. im so glad you enjoy my fics!!! that’s very sweet 💕 have a great day, qamar, and take care of yourself

here are some dc characters i imagine being south asian, except the list gets worse and worse

1. Raven ofc, she’s based on Miss India 1965, she basically should be canonically Indian atp. I like to think that she’s South Indian, and that her mother Arella’s side of the family is Christian since that’s a pretty common thing irl for South Indians.

2. Sue Dibny, mainly because I think her name Sue could easily be a nickname for Suhani and I think that’s adorable lmao. Also she’s a character I very much love, despite her cruel and unfortunate history. She IS one of the best detectives and I stand by that.

3. Zatanna. This one I’m not 100% serious about at all tbh, but in some panels she looks so very Desi that I’m just like??? Woah. Also can’t explain it but her personality/vibe also really matches. And it would be cool to have an Italian-Bengali or Italian-Pakistani girly.

4. Jason Todd. Controversial, I know, but his look in the Death in the Family movie was soooo…like you can’t tell me that’s not a Nepali man. Also it would make sense considering that he thought Shiva was his mom…there’d have to be a slight indicator of similarity somewhere. Also I deserve to see myself in a brown character who grew up poor in the streets and is unhinged.

Honorable mention:

I used to imagine Lois Lane as South Asian, but since her recent Korean depiction in the new superman show, I kinda dropped that idea lol. And I’ll never forget when I told one of my old mutuals about my Lois headcanon, and they were like “No, I think she’s Latina. • But you let the omnic in anyway, Zen had just gone to the corner store for some tea.

• It turns out that it wasn't an Omnic, it was a Cybor called Genji, friendly, but not very talkative, but you didn't ask too much, he seemed uncomfortable with your presence.

• Luckily, your father was back soon, and you were sure he was grinning when he noticed the Cybor.

• You could hear them talking in Nepali among themselves, and not wanting to be a bad third you go to your room, when you managed to hear it.

• "...Yes and she would be your brother. Have you met him yet?"

• Brother.

• Zenyatta had another son.

• Both of you and Genji stared at each other for a few seconds.

• You swear you heard a switch or something.

• Now the serious and intimidating Cyborg hugged you speaking in Japanese and sounded happy

• Every day you were more amazed with your adoptive father's abilities, without a doubt.

• Zen calmed him down and offered tea, along with some small talk.

• Although he hadn't adopted Genji as such, he saw him as his son, for what he had told him about you in his letters and had been waiting for the moment to introduce them.

• Genji also told part of his story, he had had an older brother and had had a very bad time in the past, it was Zen who helped him on his way, being grateful to him and happy to have someone to call family after so long.

• He didn't say much, but you won't ask about it.

• Although he did mention that he had always liked the idea of ​​being the older brother.

• And, honestly, how could you refuse?

COD MODERN WAREFARE 3 Predictions

Disclaimer: I have never played the games I am just doing this for my own enjoyment (I don’t have 70$ lying around) I am going off of cutscenes, the wiki and other people’s head cannons. I kind of wanna see how this list plays out once the new missions come. (This barbie has to draft 30 sheets of site analysis for a presentation but is doing this instead) I will probably update this with coloured text as it goes

also, lmao mw3 getting revealed by monster energy drinks has the same energy as the previous installments being revealed by Dorito Chips or when hero movies get early reveals from toy/action figure patents.

Graves does come back but only as an operator for the multiplayer games. Conversely, He could be an illegal arms dealer but in hiding (think MacAfee before they found him). Shepherd has a higher chance of going in that direction in my books. Update: he comes back completely unscathed and going by the new trailer he's siding with Farah and Alex? oooo this gonna get messy (28/7/23).

Price, Laswell, or Gaz dies. Sort of a riff off from the originals I’m guessing the writers are trying to find some form of subversion but this is where it's at (oof)

Farah or Alex dies and neither of them finishes what they started. My money is on Farah tbf.

Gaz dying makes sense in the way that he started with wanting to do right by people when he first met and would probably die that way too. or this being a red herring price jumps in for him and dies and then takes his place which seals his fate as the MC of this installment.

Laswell goes out of the way of aiding a mission when she was expected/advised not to.

Laswell gets a protégé that will replace her in a much later installment. It has a shot at being Gaz man just collects good intel.

more female ops? I like to think COD writes them pretty damn well. (at this point my standards are must pass the Bechdel test. which is not a bad benchmark considering its flaws but not great either)(this is also where I found out the first installment of Twilight passes the Bechdel test. go figure)

Gaz replaces Laswell and Ghost takes Price’s place.

Price dies while killing Makarov. or we get him smoking a cigar as he is introed making it a full-circle moment once more.

Ghost trades bullets with shepherd but only shepherd dies. Many have said the reboot plays it safe so I am going off of that assumption here slightly but ik a lot of og gamers of the previous titles would find that satisfying.

In the wiki, it states that the shadow company is disavowed but that might change. I didn’t check the established title (Like if it was private or public) of such a company but there might be a line of succession here. for what they have in assets it seems too big to be disavowed.

we get a partial face reveal of the ghost. It could be something mundane as smoking or a teasing jump cut. it’s just like barely there.

everyone gets promoted: It happened after the mission in the ghost's origin story. It’s a hefty mission they just survived. I would be surprised if they didn’t. with shepherd gone this swings either way. or gets buried under the rug as it is a mission hidden from the public.

Roach gets in the picture. he also wins the IDGAF wars or is second to Price in that regard.

regional operators? They were all over the place in past titles and with las almas this seems the least farfetched. (hoping for some Indian or Nepalis operators woo)

someone from 141 or affiliated gets kidnapped or “killed” but it’s that “lucky death” situation that COD likes to pull like it did with Alex. This happens towards the end or at a start of a mission season.’

Shepherd is the actual villain and they kill off Makarov pretty quick as a subversion of the original title. Again moot, if you consider the potential monster energy leak his face is in red behind price.

price dies, Gaz finishes the job.

this is more of an anti-prediction: the price isn’t gonna be the main character but the most prominent. (also going by the monster leak) ghost was the last game’s MC I don’t think they were married to his POV all that much even though it played a huge role.

ghost dies, and Soap finishes the job. “you wanna be better than me Johnny” or Johnny dies saving Ghost in the final moment.

Makarov operates the no Russian mission remotely and he acts as a clean nationalistic politician, making him more dangerous and will cause international trouble when apprehending him. (a lot of opposing politicians or figures “fall out of windows” in the process.

The ghost team carries over to Russian soil.

141 gets bigger and possibly with pre-existing operators within the game.

shepherd gets murdered by a more evil boi/girl

ghost’s tattoo design has a canonical refresh/update. The grey fleece jacket comes back.

Soap recovers while Ghost hunts for Shepherd solo. (this happens right after the final mission or the bar scene)

Every now and then a COD title comes out with a new game mechanic or a way to play. In this installment, I am predicting laser sights for night missions.

we don’t get much about ghosts. RalphsValve said there might be a spinoff personally I don’t this will ever happen but it’s a tossup considering the original investor report saying mobile makes 40% of revenue but the Microsoft acquisition may change things ( also wonder where product collaborations are at on that investor report probably not that sizable but still worth a look). Conversely, he’s ghostie has become a character favorite and the market landscape has changed drastically in the last 10-20 years and he already has source material. BTW I read that Origin comic That poor fucker can’t catch a break. Brother looked so red-eyed when he hit the tarmac when he met Soap.

Appearance: I am 18 years old. I am a 5' 8.5" female-presenting genderfluid person. I am Nepali, so I have some south Asian mixed with East Asian features, but I am so pale from never going out, I can pass as white some days. Pretty long thin blackish-brown hair that reaches mid-back and is really wavy. Got some very faint acne scars on my forehead. Got my ears and nostril pierced, planning on doing my cartilage very very soon!!! I got a couple of burn marks, simply because I'm a bit clumsy and a little dazy sometimes. As for how I dress? Pretty feminine. I do dress very masculine some days, but I prefer to dress feminine just because it makes me feel super pretty!!!

Personality: I am a Hufflepuff through and through. No matter how many times I take the Pottermore quiz, I get the same thing. I fall under neutral good, I'm an INFP and a Taurus. I'm pretty quiet and love to read. If I talk to you once, you are immediately my friend. I can be really social at the drop of a hat and HATE awkward silence. I always have a new story or am trying to find something I have in common with other people. Socializing exhausts me, but I prefer it to be lonely. I'm constantly making stupid jokes and can be a bit mean sometimes.

Interests/Hobbies: Am a big reader. Gets to be a large problem sometimes. Like I will tell everyone I know, sorry I'm really busy, just to finish a book or read a Webtoon update. I like watching sci-fi/fantasy TV shows and prefer crime/thriller movies. When I read, I like action and romance so yeah taste is all over the place :D. Third Class Family

I was born in an economically third-class family, much like third-world country, we have all the deficiencies that one can imagine of, problems of clean and safe drinking water, double thinking on the type of availability of food to eat, etc.  Even though there were four members in our family, problems like these that usually happen in large families might surprise you that it happened in small families too.

Anyway, God had another plan for me. I decided to take care of myself. By taking care of me meaning that he wanted to take care of my schooling. I don’t know what I thought of it at that time but as of right now, those were the days when I learned the best of the world and pragmatically (how the world works and how people deal with each other and how to answer a phone)

Even though I was born in a poor family, here, in my uncle’s home I get to live as one of the rich kid. (As this family was more of an economically first­-class family)

I was blessed with different lifestyles and choices. For example, I get to eat in a dining table, I get to watch different channels in Television like Cartoon Network ( I was studying in 6 classe at that time, so stop judging me :P)

National Geographic, TLC, Star Movies, HBO, Cinemax, and my favorite Discovery. They had their own Personal Computer and Broadband Internet too!! I was very much Shocked. I get to learn about the proper use of PC except for how to use Paint :P My uncle bought me a Video game after I held up the promise of getting Distinctions in the Exam. Many many more incidents are there which I reflect on and cherish now!

I am deviating from my topic now, Yeah as I was saying they were rich and I got to live as one of the rich kids as I live with them. And when I hear the news that some Nepali is dead in a jungle because of illegal immigration into the USA, I think, I understand them and their pain. Having difficulty to arrange healthy food for themselves and the children. Wanting to provide a roof that doesn’t leak during monsoon season. Having the plastered roof so that the Strong wind of March and April. Having some money so that they could have a means of Entertainment and some savings for the future. These all are the main reseasons why there is mass brain drain in the country and people are paying millions of rupees for illegal entrance to America.

Today I had a very busy day as I had two classes and two club meetings back to back right after. After my classes I had to take the campus bus from McNeal hall to Rapson Hall on East Bank. At Rapson Hall I facilitated my first informational meeting for BIPOC Student Design Collective with my co-worker. I was not expecting a big turn out and I was correct as only four people showed up. Nonetheless, I presented about the group and enjoyed talking to everyone who came as we ate the pizza we had ordered from Pizza Lucé. Our meeting went till 7 and my next meeting for the Solar Vehicle Project started at 7. Since we had some pizza left over, everyone at the meeting distributed the left overs to whoever wanted it and I took the rest as I do not like wasting food. In the solar vehicle project meeting we got to chose new member tasks which I picked to work on some posters for the group as well as come up with a wrap design for the car. After the meeting I went home with my friend who commutes to school and is also in those groups with me. It was nice to see my parents after such a long time. My mom had prepared my favorite Nepali dish which contested of chicken curry, black lentil soup, rice, and fried potatoes with a Nepali pickled salsa on the side. I indulged in a bottle beer with my dad and ended the night watching the movie "You People" starring Jonah Hill with my parents. My screentime for today was low at 3 hours and 29 minutes as I was busy all day. My most used apps were Messages, Instagram, and Snapchat.
