#tag talk#skyrim oc#OH I JUST HAD A GREAT IDEA FOR MY SHITHOLE SKYRIM CHARACTER#so I'm gonna get a steward for the Falkreath house. go get some more housecarls to take care of my daughters#AND THEN I'M GONNA MAKE HIM AM ABSENTEE FATHER.#he's gonna be like “I have to leave my family while I join the dark brotherhood to make skyrim a better place through murder and war#and the juicy thing is that the dark brotherhood sanctuary is literally in south Falkreath. like ten minutes away from home#so he's gonna lurk in the woods sometimes being a pathetic sad noodle wishing he could see his girls again#when literally he could if he weren't such an egotistical idealist.#I like the idea of turning invisible and leaving money on the doorstep at night as a way of trying to make up for being gone#you know that thing where people feel bad for not having a relationship with you so they just give you money and gifts instead? yeah.#AND THEN HIS DARK BROTHERHOOD FOUND FAMILY IS GONNA DIE TOO. he's gonna be so fucking shattered#but his pride won't let him come crawling back to his family now that they've spent two years without him. so he'll just be so alone#maybe that's when I go back and join the thieves guild. because there's a new npc that changes your face with magic#he'll be so distraught that he'll join any group that'll have him that he hasn't burned bridges with yet.#this is going to be so fun omgggg#I usually just pick all the silent options for dark brotherhood dialogue but this guy is a fucking suck up simp.#he picks all the most agreeable options like he's networking at the office. he would probably be way too into Patric Bateman irl ngl#he wouldn't do nfts but he would definitely do crypto and get maybe fucked by some stupid futures trading that went bad#exactly the kind of man who would get picked up for Squid Game tbh#no idea if he'll every get up the courage to become the dragonborn.#I think maybe he'll just keep going on hopes that a dragon fucking kills him

look. sokka IS a stem bro, but he’s not the kind of guy who would invest in crypto. he’d write all of crypto off as being for idiots who don’t realize they’re getting scammed. you know who would invest in crypto, however? who believes in diversifying their portfolio? believes, or at least claims, that bitcoin is the future? who would even buy an nft provided they knew that they could sell it at a later date to turn a profit? azula.

I've seen there's posts going round saying you need to delete all your art from tumblr, right now! This very second! Because it's gonna get scraped for AI!!! And I totally get anyone who does delete their stuff to avoid that, or at least deletes the old stuff and reuploads with glaze or nightshade But I dunno, I've reached the point where I feel like all these companies (the AI creators, and the social media sites etc.) are so blasé about your data, so out of any fucks about privacy and personal ownership and only care about £$ line go up, that it's probably all been scraped a thousand times already?! Tumblr's move will certainly make this even easier and more likely, but, whenever I post anything online anymore I am under the full belief that this is gonna get taken and used by anyone who wants to already 🤷‍♂️ Perhaps that is a negative mindset, but I dunno guys, it feels like the damage is largely already done and deleting all my art at this point will only serve to make my life less fun. On a more positive note, the kind of people that are running AI are ridiculous tech bros, the exact types that ran nft's and various other hair brained schemes straight into the ground, so there's hope there too. If AI was being developed seriously as an actual tool for artists to use it's one thing, and I think there could be legitimately interesting uses there. but the current state of affairs with the rampant theft and fuck you get mine attitude ignoring any copyright laws in their path, it could easily all crash and burn a couple of lawsuits later. Or people will just get bored and move on. In the mean time yes, it is doing real damage to artists, not arguing that. Just saying as negative as my attitude to this situation is, I also have hope that it may not be the all out artistic apocalyptic event some predict. But as it stands now, I feel like everything online is 'free real estate' to these people, no matter what checkboxes you ticked or watermarks you added, or new policies dickhead CEO's add to their social media sites. To be clear: It shouldn't be this way, it fucking sucks, and by all means delete your stuff if you feel it necessary. I don't plan to at the moment. I do have glaze set up for future posts. Anyway just my thoughts on the matter at the moment. Anyone else feel this way? Or, if you are deleting your stuff now, what are you going to do going forward? New websites/come back and repost with glaze/other?

ChatGPT fans are abolutely techno-spiritual, you are correct. A vague sense of destiny has always pervaded the AI community, and recently they have fallen victim to grifters and tech gurus who have played that up to get investment, because they have financial interest in convincing everyone that AI is the future, and also that what we have now is AI. (It's not. What we have is a series of data-crunching tools, nothing intelligent, just like you said). The podcast Behind the Bastards had a recent episode or two about how culty and weird these AI goons have become. It's worth a listen imo
Yes! I do feel like the recent surge of stupid genAI models is partly due to the fact that we're reaching the end of Q1 for this year. This is usually the time when companies whip up bs (the recent video generators, game generators, etc.) to beg investors to pour in more money for them.
The AI community is def culty. I feel like a lot of tech spaces can get culty but are not called out as much because it consists mostly of men. NFTs and crypto, for example, were reasonably called out as MLMs for young men. I've seen some interviews on Youtube where these really young guys fresh out of college talked about how they actually went into debt by joining various crypto/nft discord communities and pouring in their money.
I'd better check out that podcast if I can haha
Thanks for the recommendation.
I also found this article from Rollingstone earlier this year interesting. https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/ai-companies-advocates-cult-1234954528/

random headcanon --
Alastor is tech averse, not tech illiterate. As an overlord, he couldn't afford to be completely unknowledgeable, it'd be a massive liability when Voxtek is in everyone's hands. But he lets everyone think he doesn't know what's what because: a) he's got an image to maintain b) people underestimate him and will leave their phone unlocked around him or other such nonsense c) he's a massive troll who can then misquote memes or other things that everyone knows and drive people up the wall. He has a dude whose Deal is just to keep Alastor up to date on things. This may sound easy, but consider trying to teach a boomer how to use the internet. And then remember Alastor is a troll.
But before you feel bad for the dude - the guy is one of those techbros who always had to have the latest gadget. He thinks he's better than older sinners, just because he's 'from the future'. He tried to sell Alastor on off-brand bitcoin and NFTs. I promise he absolutely deserves Alastor showing up at 2AM to explain 'loss' for the tenth time that month.

Hermes kid Butters I love you 🤍🤍
AND HERES A LIST OF REASONS WHY HE IS A HERMES KID BECAUSE THIS IS PROBABLY MY FAV ASSIGNMENT OF ALL THE KIDS:
1. RESOURCEFULNESS: he is crafty when he wants to be, we all remember how well he adapted to ‘the last of the meheecans’ and the casa bonita episode where the kid just chilled out with being the last person alive and stayed positive the entire time. There’s also so many examples of him just coping with Cartman’s bs and I adore him for that.
2. HERMES AS MESSENGER OF THE GODS: kind of a stretch but remember how the Marjorine character was created primarily for him to spy on the girls and relay messages back to the boys?? Also bro like hacking into facebook that one time, online communication is his bitch
3. HERMES AS GOD OF TRICKERY: Professor Chaos. That’s all I’m saying for this one. Professor Chaos. ALSO YES OKAY SO IN THE SHOW CARTMAN CREATES THE EVIL PLANS, but Butters usually will help carry them out in some way sOOO still a little trickster
4. HERMES AS GOD OF COMMERCE: remember when our sweet innocent boy became a pimp? yeah, that was an experience. There’s also the whole NFT thing in the future which shows how Butters has a pretty crazy knowledge of the market and how to exploit it for his own gain if he really needs to + in this he also mirrors Hermes’ versatility by adapting his business approach with every customer we see him speaking to. And in season 26 the guy seems pretty wise when it comes to getting a job and managing his money, man knows business.
5. GOD OF THIEVERY: again, the NFT shit is basically stealing. Love you Butters but Vic Chaos was kinda crazy (love him tho)
Thank you for coming to my ted talk!!
(Copy and pasted straight from the endnotes of this fanfic lmaoooo, the lost lyre on ao3, have at it)

Zootopia 2 Hopes & Predictions
With Zootopia 2 announced, I wanna share some things I want to see, some things I would love to see but don't think will be shown, some things I don't want to see, and some other predictions.
• Unrealistic Hopes
- Bogo and Clawhauser confirmed as/becoming a couple - Bucky and Pronk directly confirmed as husbands in canon (and not just hinted at) - Reptiles and avians - Nick is bi - Jack Savage - Finnick speaking roles (since his voice actor, Tommy Lister Jr., passed away in 2020) - Jack Black voicing a panda as a clear nod to Kung Fu Panda but the character has absolutely no similarity to Po other than species - Some sort of reference/nod to The Bad Guys
• Wants
General - More Gideon Grey -- More of Gideon's new relationship with Stu and Bonnie - Learning Mrs. Otterton's first name - Learning Bogo's first name -- Learning Bogo's backstory - More Mr. Manchas - Nick's family - Mr. Otterton speaking role - Explanation as to how sloths function in a society like this - Judy Big (Fru Fru's child) - More Sam (the otter from Zootopia+) - Lore of Zootopia's founding - Canon confirmation that predators get their necessary meat-based proteins from insect-based foods - Continued inclusion of adult-based humor - Michael Giacchino doing the score again Characters & Species [Note: I know some of these species are already included in Zootopia 1 but I just wanna see more of those] - More rabbits and foxes as characters in the background - Deer - Bears (that aren't polar bears) - Equines - Hares - Goats - Cows & Bulls - Guinea pigs - Llamas - Camels - Bison - Hyenas - Ferrets - Uncommon* mammals (capybaras, chinchillas, anteaters, African wild dogs, meerkats, etc.) - Nice sheep - Tiger side character (with a speaking role) [* Uncommon in terms of typical animal-based things] Locations - More Bunnyburrow (especially the towns & buildings) - Judy's home - Deeper exploration into Sahara Square - Deeper exploration into the Rainforest District - Places (like Bunnyburrow) that are around Zootopia but not actually part of it - Shadier, seedier underground-type places - A mall - A movie theater - More of the museum - Spaces built mainly for large mammals like elephants and rhinos, as a sort of contrast to Little Rodentia
• Unwants
- Humans in any capacity - Deaths (especially of main characters like Nick and side characters like Judy's parents, Finnick, or Gideon) - Gideon becoming antagonistic again - Nick and Judy somehow having kids - More copoganda - Chris Pratt voicing a character - James Corden voicing a character - Any reference to bitcoin/NFTs - Any use of AI-generated art or voices
• Maybe-wants?
[I'm on the fence about whether I'd like to see these or not] - Explanation as to how domestic dogs and cats exist in this universe (which they do, or at least cats) - Explanation as to why there are no avians, reptiles, or marine mammals - Some inclusion of the scrapped shock-collar plotline - Explanation as to how ice cream is made - Lore of Zootopia's universe (like how animals evolved to become sapient and anthropomorphic)
• Predictions
- Nick and Judy will have another falling out but will get back together - Bogo and Clawhauser will be heavily included again - Bonnie and Stu will be side characters again - Finnick will be seen but won't have any sort of major role - The story won't be as good or topical as the first but the writing will be on-par - The story will be set either very soon after the first movie or a couple years later; it won't be too far in the future. - Nick and Judy will remain cops at the end of the movie - Zootopia+ will be referenced at least once - Flash will appear again
Sorry for the long post, I'm just thinking about the possibilities a lot.
I'd love to hear your opinions, wants, predictions, etc.!

I went into a cafe today with some friends, and there were these two guys sitting with these two girls. One of the guys I've seen before, and he's totally obnoxious. I did NOT expect him to be a crypto alpha male bro but I should've.
After a long rant about how NFTs were the future, i just heard this man say 'Money talks... I translate." Followed by an awkward silence from his friends.
genuinely. why do you live like this.

Given they’re soft rebooting again… what’s your Jurassic world 4/jurassic park 7/ Jurassic animals and also Triassic and Cretaceous animals make life difficult: the movie pitch? I feel like, as fun as the sequels can be, they’ve lost the science parable and horror/thriller elements of the classic - for all its faults; at least lost world has that.
Hmm... I'm gonna think like a movie executive. What's hot right now? AI's hot, right? It's the buzz. I propose a hard reboot.
Crichton's original novel opens with this big screed about a near future where we have "designer genetics." Genetic manipulation gets easier and easier and I think it's said Jurassic Park takes place in a world where it's getting to the point that parents can custom-order what kind of kids they'll have by selecting specific genetic traits. (It's been a while since I've read it)
Jurassic Park the movie shows human beings physically modifying genetic code by hand using VR displays, but Mr. DNA also admits that "a full DNA sequence contains 3 billion genetic codes." So it's ridiculous to assume that a human being could edit the genetic code by hand. One sequence would take years to get right, maybe even a lifetime.
So our story is that we have some 20 something silicon valley tech bro. He got outrageously rich off of crypto and NFTs and was smart enough to cash out early. We frame him as altruistic but around the edges we can see maybe he's not the greatest person. It's suggested he knew crypto was kind of a scam, which is why he got out early, but obviously he was in crypto at all to begin with, which does not bode well. But he's supposedly "one of the smart ones." Now he's rich! And cool! And using his powers for "good." He's beloved in pop culture.
The next wave is here. Neural network LLM Artificial Intelligence. He's all in. It's the next crypto. And he starts a company that uses LLM AI to "solve the genetic algorithm." He spins this out into a financial empire where people can custom-order pets with specific traits. But obviously people with a lot of money start wondering if maybe they can get more... exotic products.
With the realm of cats, dogs and parrots conquered, our techbro begins phase 2: recreating extinct animals. This is a guy who thinks he's going to save the world by restoring lost links in the food chain (without doing enough research to see how that would change our existing ecosystem, since he could be resurrecting an invasive species).
He's going to debut the first of his phase 2 work at an event he's calling Jurassic Park, because he's going to demonstrate the first living dinosaurs in 65 million years. Jurassic Park will continue to operate as a massive nature reserve; a symbol of his control of life itself.
Obviously: everything goes wrong. The AI has never had to change this much genetic code before. It has to make up whole entire sections of DNA. The end result is unpredictable, but techbro is confident that if the AI sequenced things well enough that something could actually hatch from the egg, then it's safe.
It is not safe.
Not only do we not understand anything about dinosaur behavior, these technically aren't even dinosaurs. They're genetic mutants. The on-site dinosaur expert brought in with the press to verify Jurassic Park's claims quickly realizes that while some of these dinosaurs are accurate in some ways, a lot of them have hard deviations away from known science. Muscles that aren't quite right, appendages that aren't the right size, things like that. Maybe their brains and brain chemistry are slightly different.
The question remains whether known science was wrong or whether the AI made something up that was never true.
The question is brought up again when we learn a technician within Jurassic Park sabotaged everything intending to steal the genetic learning data from techbro's servers. Techbro says the thief poisoned the data and that's gotta be why there's mutations.
The security systems fail. The thief has left them to their creations. Jurassic Park as we know it happens.
Since a lot of movies have to deal with this, all throughout this, nobody has phones. To prevent leaks, all of their phones were confiscated before they entered Jurassic Park and locked in a security checkpoint. Our techbro, maybe as a sign of solidarity, even gives his phone to the security guy. We could even say maybe they've been having security issues beforehand, to set up the thief hacking everything before he actually does it.
Anyway, since our thief sabotaged the park's own communication channels, a lot of the movie is about getting back to that security checkpoint, breaking in, and getting their phones so they can call for help.
Oh, and also: all of Jurassic Park's vehicles are electric, too, and tied into the security mainframe. Since the park's whole security system was hacked and disabled, none of the vehicles can be operated. The only thing that works are these little golf carts, but they're small, can't go very fast, and offer little protection. Maybe our survivors try one, it gets smashed by a triceratops, and they're too far away from the depot to go back for a new one. So a lot of the movie is them traversing the park on foot.
As they're being chased by dinosaurs through the park itself, they end up deep in the core of a genetics lab. And it's here we learn the dark truth: there is a wide margin of failure. The recently deceased specimens are all kept for study and learning and there's a lot because the AI fails often, and it has to be taught not to do that. We see dozens of disfigured animals. Bits and pieces of dinosaurs, pets, and even, in one tank... human parts. These tanks are labeled "phase 3."
Not only are the mutated dinosaurs not the work of sabotage, this guy's been trying to create genetically modified people. We have our big "what have you done?" moment of horror. One of the last surviving members of the press is going to blow the whistle on this place. It's over. Maybe it's someone we build up as the techbro's new friend discovering that their hero wasn't who he said he was.
Just then, a dinosaur bursts in and kills that person. Drama! Tragedy!
Obviously, the survivors find a way out. Techbro has to live with his own conscious. Multiple people died at his hands on this day and he had a hand in creating some of the worst sins against nature mankind has ever seen.
(Or maybe we stick to the original Jurassic Park book and he dies just before getting on the escape chopper.)

everyone is kinda headcanoning the new profs as acting like a stereotypical cavewoman/future science guy but honestly itd be absolutely great if they were swapped from their expected archetypes personality-wise. Turo is a mighty and resourceful man who hunts and crafts. Sada is a historian-type who loves recreating long-dead arts using her creativity and modern technology.
Sada is creating NFTs based off of cave art while Turo is trying to IT his computer by hitting it with a stick until it works

More random docus/video essays
Video essays are some of my favorite things on the internet and I've been especially addicted to them lately so here's a bunch I've been watching (some of these gave me goosebumps or straight up made me cry in a non-depressing way):
Disney Channel's Theme: A History Mystery (I'm sure you've heard of this by now, but everything Defunctland does is stunning. This is the documentary that made me teary. I cannot recommend it enough, and of course his FastPass documentary if you haven't watched that either).
The man who faked an element & The man who almost faked his way to a noble prize. (Honestly just everything I've watched by BobbyBroccoli. It's all "focused" on science/physics but as someone with no interest in either of these topics, these docus are Fascinating, and perfectly understandable, so I highly recommend them).
ROBLOX_OOF.mp3 (actually about a person associated with the sound, not Roblox, it's a SUPER interesting rabbithole).
the tale of i-dog (remember these iPod accessories?? yeah this video gave me massive nostalgia).
Line Goes Up - The Problem with NFTs (same guy as below, great researched and thorough destruction of the idea, while not being too depressing) The Future Is A Dead Mall - Decentraland and the Metaverse (same guy as above, this one is really good, basically explaining what the metaverse truly is and why it's terrible. if you skip the NFT one, i still definitely recommend this one)
Taking caffeine out of Red Bull so I can drink it at night (this one IS technical and about chemistry, but it's still interesting, and also the premise makes me laugh)
POLYBIUS - The Video Game That Doesn't Exist (a tracing of mentions of the supposed "POLYBIUS" game throughout time on the web, with the goal of finding the origin of the story) Trackers: The Sound of 8bit (by the same channel, an interesting dive into the early software for creating digital "chiptune" music back in the 80s. There's a Darude Sandstorm cameo. It's more dense than the Polybius video but very interesting)
How Will Games Be Preserved? | Capturing the Frozen Flame (exactly what it says on the tin)
Why Did Link's Cell Shading Disappear? (deep dive into how BOTW renders its lighting, and also video game lighting in general. btw this glitch still exists in totk the patch of area is just a lot smaller)
Sony Minidisc: The (Not) Forgotten Format (the history of the format and why it failed. gave me real nostalgia for the CD walkmans and such of the early 2000s)
Girl Games of Lost Media (pt 1 & pt 2) (a deep dive into the lost Mean Girls and Clueless DS games that manages to uncover new evidence) The Western World Of Sailor Moon (pt 1) & Finding Saban Moon (pt 2) (same channel as above. a lost media documentary on the canceled 80s She-ra style Sailor Moon adaption. I don't care about Sailor Moon at all but still found it really interesting.)
Update:
How The World Sounds To Animals (okay this is what I'm ALWAYS talking about with how differently each species perceives the world and works internally. It's also just really interesting)

In your general modern au / kuwtb / celebrity type au, what do you think Tyrion does for work, if any? What would be his fanbase? How insufferable is his subreddit? Do you think his tumblr tag is normal or is it like. Weird?
Does Bronn fit into any of these type of aus? Sorry if this is out of the blue about a character who's neither Baratheon nor Lannister, I just love the idea of someone who is very into privacy and secrecy accidently getting wind up with this insanely famous scandalous family haha
tyrion is a crypto nft guy 100%. he's not a blind follower losers who genuinely believes in the vision for the future ad he's not one of those moron rich dullards who got convinced into doing it by their financial advisors. it's just a new type of stock to short lol. i think cersei is a VERY public figure, jaime maybe, but tyrion definitely isnt. i think he prefers the behind-the-scenes, BUT he could be a silicon valley type millionaire who is only famous in the tech industry and by aforementioned blind follower losers. the only reason the lannisters are still rich and not billions in debt is thanks to tyrion but tywin will NEVER acknowledge this lol. i think he'd be a libertarian LMAO
bronn's funny as a quirky lil side character i hate him a little unfairly for his blown up role in the show (master of coin..... jfc.........). low level criminal who gets hired as tyrion's bodyguard. he goes with tyrion to his insane coked up tech orgy parties and he's like well as long as i get a bump lol
