A (Somewhat Incomplete) Guide on How to Fake Sinner Profiles
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LIMBUSIFY YOUR ARTSTYLE (optional)
The core components of limbus companies artstyle are as follows:
Textured, ink pen like lineart
Desaturated colours leaning towards the outermost area of the colour square
Cell shading with some texture
lots and lots of visual effects. God have mercy
Keep references around while drawing, as there are often lots of small details and these will be your guide for not going too crazy with your noise effects.
2. BACKGROUNDS
In the interest of saving time, here’s a free template for you to use. Feel free to change up the background colour however
Tumblr media
Key notes:
The background colour loosely matches to the sinner’s eye colour, however usually slightly more saturated.
the outer border is lined thinly by black. This also covers the limbus logo section.
3. TEXT
The font for the light yellow text for your sinners weapon is Futura Condensed Medium. There’s a slight black backdrop to it you can get from duplicating the text and lowering it slightly.
Tumblr media
4. EFFECTS
Sharpen, noise and blur will be your best friends here. Too high quality of a character sprite can make it not mesh with the background, and look odd when matched with canon portraits. Here’s a step by step process:
Add wear to the portrait with textured brushes, low opacity and blending modes. I’d generally suggest using gouache or watercolour brushes very lightly to establish texture, then going back in more strongly to indicate dirt and grime. Always use a coloured shadow.
using a blur filter, blur your character on the lowest setting possible, to the point it’s almost unnoticeable.
If your program has a layer texture filter, switch to the noise option and lightly cover the portrait with a thin layer of noise texture. If not, use your pen’s texture settings OR download a png of noise texture and set the layer it’s on to multiply, then lowering the opacity to around %5-10.
Apply a sharpening filter very lightly, only to the point where when zoomed in light colour separation and grain from the lineart can be seen.
aside from that, I’d always recommend playing around with colours, light and textures to make the portrait fit closer.
In the end, it can look something like this!
Tumblr media
To conclude this, have fun, go crazy, and suggestions on how to improve this guide are very much encouraged.

low quality video ➜ "HD" gifs tutorial! (2022 UPDATE!)
back by popular demand. warning, this is a work in progress! so far I have found this is the best way to restore low quality movie videos into somewhat clear and “hd” gifs. I will update if I discover anything different (:
this works on movies/videos in 720p and lower
you must have basic gif making knowledge
I'm using adobe photoshop cc 23.4.1 (2022) for windows
link to previous version of this tutorial
TUTORIAL UNDER THE CUT 🔽
so this tutorial is going to show you how to create the ILLUSION of high quality and film grain in your gifs just by using smart filters, coloring, and the filter gallery tab! this trick works on 720p, 480p, 360p, and 144p resolutions
1. MAKE YOUR GIF BASE
I’ll be using a scene from hello mary lou: prom night 2 in a *really* gross 480px lol
Tumblr media
2. RESIZE YOUR GIF
ctrl + alt + “I”
Tumblr media
These are my resizing settings (copy these).
Resampling your gif under the ‘preserve details 2.0′ option allows you to resize your gif without losing those small details - essentially making your gif sharper.
⭐ please note that gifs will look better if resized to 268px instead of 540px as its easier to hide low quality trails that remain in the end.
3. ADD ‘SMART SHARPEN’ FILTER
filter ➤ sharpen ➤ smart sharpen...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When adding your smart sharpening layer, be sure to unselect More Accurate from the drop down menu at the top. (You can access this menu by clicking the gear in the right hand corner)
Unselecting this option will add more sharpness to the highlights and shadows of your gif, which is essential for this trick to work
⭐ of course if you have preferred sharpening settings, feel free to use those instead!
3. ADD ANOTHER ‘SMART SHARPEN’ LAYER
filter ➤ sharpen ➤ smart sharpen...
Tumblr media
Copy these settings
Keep the More Accurate option SELECTED for this layer!!!
4. CREATING FILM GRAIN
filter ➤ filter gallery... ➤ texture ➤ grain
Tumblr media
These settings will depend on what you think looks best! For this gif, these are the settings I ended up with
Be sure that the “Soft” option is selected from the drop down menu. Its the cleanest grain filter photoshop offers and its the closest you’ll get to grain used in films
The intensity will depend on you and what your gif needs. Don’t go too crazy here. Keep the number low (no higher than 10)
Contrast will generally stay in the 50′s but if you need more black areas in your gif feel free to push that number a bit
⭐ Don’t get too attached to these right now as they may change throughout your process!
4.2. ARRANGING SMART LAYERS
Tumblr media
MUY IMPORTANTE!!!!
In order to get that sharp grain look, you’ll need to place the “Filter Gallery” layer beneath the 2 smart sharpen layers like in the pic above
Edit your grain settings as needed!
5. COLOR COLOR COLOR
After all of that is said and done, add your coloring! Try to push the shadows and add more black in your 'selective color' adjustment layer just to give your gif more contrast. This will clean up the pixel-y blacks and make your gif look a bit nicer to look at. Again this will all depend on what you’re looking for and what you think looks best!
6. SAVE!
Once you're satisfied with how your gif looks, alt + ctrl + shift + “S” and you're done! Here are my save for web settings
Tumblr media
MY RESULTS!
480px video, before and after:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Still looks pretty shitty but I guess its better than the original ???)
360px video, before and after:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I ripped this movie straight from the DVD and the glitch you see came with it unfortunately 😒)
End notes/tips!
This trick will not work on every low quality movie
Please play around with the sharpening, grain, and color settings to find the best version for you!
The higher the quality of the video (720p, 1080p dvd) the less grain you will need to add
Again, gifs look even better if they are put into 2 column posts instead of a single column (268px instead of 540px)
The grain filter will unfortunately make your gif size very large which is something I havent been able to work around
And once more for the people in the back - this is FAKE HD, it won't turn your 480p video into a crisp blu-ray 1080p quality. it just gives an illusion of higher quality 🤠
Please feel free to send me a DM or an ask if you need further help or have any questions whatsoever! Thank you!✨🖤

hiii <3 so ik we’ve never spoken before but can you elaborate on that mini multiverse circle jerk post (pls my mind is going brrrrrr every time I try to conceive of such scenarios bc ummmm hot) anyway, luv ur stuff ::)))))
oHhh i am here i am standing at attention and reporting 4 duty all at once o7. i saw your tags earlier too and they made me so happy so also thank yoU n hello hehe
its just,,, the circle jerk thing works so well in any regimented type setting and/or for characters who went through that. i went a little crazy over this .
circle jerk + chris redfield
18+. chris x gn!reader. 1.5k^. circle jerk (vhs tape assisted), exhibitionism, voyeurism, chris is so . fucking cooked over u in this
chris redfield who’s still in his air force years, long enough by now that the CO-speared brow-beatings’ve gotten more overt, half-tempered by his hefty commendations, ones that keep him toeing the line in their ‘good graces’ — a misstep or two away from the threat of a court martial.
word spreads around, because of course it does. speculation that’s sparse on context means he’s been hearing ‘redfield’ more often these days from peers on top of superiors, even by some who’d gotten around to calling him by his given name first, before.
not you, though. no, never you. you still call him ‘chris’, same as ever, same as when he first met you, and you do it even now when he can barely acknowledge you back with a call of your name — all ‘cause his heart’s got this habit of kicking up into his throat when he hasn’t geared up to see you around. his shoulders have a habit of sitting a little stiffer, at attention from the presence but never the same type of discomfort from starched hierarchy and bad decisions. doesn't know what to do with them. doesn’t know what to do with his hands, either.
he hadn’t meant to find you. not here, and not in this.
in some backroom back at base, once dusk had already set but no call for lights out had been given, that he walks into, light-stepped and unassuming. a scattering of thread-bare armchairs and beanbags rested near the worn couch you’re laying back on, arm thrown over the back.
you’re facing away from him, technically, from the door the same way most seats are — because they’re all faced, semi-circle scattered, towards the shitty pull-out TV at the furthest-back wall, VHS grain and color-bleed providing the dim light that filters through the room in light washes. most are occupied. some type of gathering, maybe spontaneous maybe not, faces he knows and ones he doesn’t among the dozen or fewer men in the room.
it'd be almost intimate if it weren't simultaneously impersonal, the way they're watching the screen or each other — some crowded close together on the same seating intended only for one, and some apart, pressed only along the seams of their thighs or the leather of the same standard-issue boots.
most unlaced and unbuckled, though, states of undress below dangling belts or with a shirt pulled up to rest a few inches above the waist, cocks flush in the low-light held in slow hands or lying heavy against their abdomens — pre gleaming each time the old tape, garden variety home porn contraband, cuts to a different shot of the couple christening their furniture and each other.
feels heat creep all over him, a desiccated throat as his jaw works slow over the processing. the door's kept ajar by the part of him that'd leaned into the room shoulder-first, one boot in and one out — but chris' big enough that it matters, on the treshold between here and there. he's never seen himself as the brightest, nor dimmest, and he can't consider much of anything when your head turns over your shoulder and your eyes meet. can't really read you, not that he ever could, but he thinks he spots a slight surprise at… him being there? maybe his existence?
and then other eyes in the room flit over to him, slow, and take notice too. he meets them, fleeting and a little uneasy, before they return to yours. can't decide whether to double-down or— you grin, a little lop-sided, before he makes up his mind to shift his weight onto his back leg and step down. down, and away from this.
"chris?" his name again, from you. soft-spoken enough that it doesn't draw much attention despite the tease in your eye, and your head tilts towards him, "planning to stand out there all night, or…?"
he might be half gone up there, revisits the memory of a near forced suspension for supposed insubordination and wonders whether he should've taken the out when it was given. a sound mind is half the job, but he steps into that room with a slow-drawn inhale and the door leaned shut by instinct. all because of you and his name and your easy smile.
the only spot rests on the couch next to you, and he's slowly made aware of the way it’s your domain alone to keep. the only person in the room, himself excluded, without their trousers pushed half-down or hands kept otherwise fulfilled is you. he settles in, considerate enough not to drop his weight down, to your right — all too aware of the right arm you keep draped across the back, and the way you seem a little too warm even at the modest distance between you, the soft moans on recording in the background.
you don't fuss over him, instead leaning your head back to keep watching the tape, and he settles, somewhat. somewhat. lets curious eyes wander. glances, at first, like the kind where you expect blow-back on getting caught out — red-handed in the cookie jar. state of undress is nothing new, not really, not here. there’s more to worry about than modesty in the service, he doesn’t really make it a habit to stop and take in the sights when some guy drops his drawers in the changing rooms. this isn’t the same as quick showers and rushing your way out of the barracks, though. it’s not the same when he thinks about you, instead of some faceless stand-in.
it’s not the same, not at all, not with the way he’s watching them, both unknown, sliding his cock in and out of her, hands large and heavy on the hips up on the screen; the way he can hear hitched breaths around him, a low exhale and a few sharp inhales, the soft slide of fists over cocks — slick and slow, or lingering to tease the head; the way he keeps thinking about you and the reality that you’re here, thigh pressing along the seam of his from the weight distribution of the couch, the dip in the middle because he hadn’t had the foresight to sit further away from you at some corner near the armrest. his cock throbs, aching, against the stiff stretch of his trousers, leg kept stiff where it touches yours.
chris doesn’t realise you’re watching until he takes the risk, the glance, caught-red handed at the way your head is tilted, lazy, eyes drawn to the thick bulge of his crotch and outline marked by his cock.
his pulse is in his throat, heavy and thumping, when your eyes slide to his face and you notice his on you already. holds his breath when you lean in, as though privacy means anything here and he finds he’s grateful for the gesture, “this okay?”
he’s not the brightest, probably, maybe, but there’s some part of him that knows — maybe the same part that wants. won’t rise — risk — to question, and it’s not from practicing service, but from the fact that it’s you. he swallows thick.
the sound of his belt is deafening as he unfastens it, unhurried on the pretense of routine, unbuckling and unzipping his trousers with large hands. stifles any tremble. he frees his hard cock with the drag of a hand that pushes the layers down only as far as he needs, grips the thick base, supporting, length heavy as it lolls left and lazy.
there’s no breeze; the heat of the room drawn up enough by these parallel activities to bypass that first shiver, but it happens anyways at the way it seems to lean towards you and the way your eyes have their own single-minded focus, paying no mind to anything but chris and his cock. he lifts his hand, a cursory stroke to the top of the shaft before his thumb slides over the leaking head, and doesn’t miss the way your tongue swipes across your lip for a moment as you watch, unable to take his eyes off of you just the same.
his pulse is in his throat and his heart might spill out of it. it happens long before he's aware of it, when he feels the light press of your cheek to his left shoulder, muscle twitching when you ask, “this okay?”
breath hitches, and he can’t help the shutter of his eyes when you ask, again, balm over the tremor in his chest, “chris?”
exhales something shaky. tests the curl of his fist over his cock and strokes it, once, pre already loosening up the glide. stiffens a soft moan at the back of his throat, the pressure licking hot through him, abdomen tight. “yeah.” rolls his hand again and feels the press of your thigh along his, “fuck— yeah.’”
man his size, and he’s still considerate enough to try not to jostle you too much on his shoulder as he kicks up a slow rhythm, the press of your cheek to his delt enough to get him gone while he strokes himself with his right hand. his hand's just enough for the girth, and you wonder if yours would be, too. honest-to-god flinches a little when he feels your breath, an exhale that’s a little too cool to not be purposeful, across the tip of his wet cock.
he’ll blow his load too quick if you keep leaning on him like that. wonders if you know, if you like it, because you press a hand over his left thigh to keep his hips from chasing after the seal of his own fist, cock truly and well fucked on it, and it gets him that much closer despite his slowing down. for you. keeps his eyes on you, despite the fact that they don't often meet, and you have to know. because you have to know. you have to.
would you touch him, if he asked? can he ask? you dig into the meat of his thigh.
up, further than you’d been — close — the fat and muscle giving way before they tense, terse, and he moans, leaning his body towards yours on instinct, touch like a brand, and spilling hot and warm and heavy across his fist. keeps it pumping, throbbing cock drooling cum over a slowing fist and slick fingers, dripping down to the back of your palm as you rest it on his thigh, where it belongs.

some old stuff I found on pinterest (and below interesting things) - Part 1
Picture 1
“One minute Taylor is busting out lyrics and being adorable in front of the camera, and the next she is like high-fashion model”
Q: What type of music are you into right now?
TS: A Late’80s pop. One of my favorite songs is “She Drives Me Crazy”, by Fine Young Cannibals. It was so ahead of its time.
App she loves – 8MM vintage camera
TS: “It lets you put a cool, 1960s-style filter on iPhone videos and gives clips a moody grain”
Picture 2
COSMOGIRL 2009
TS: "My newest hobby is going to wal-mart and putting my CD in front of others in the rack. I have no shame in it!"
Picture 3
Seventeen Magazine (2008)
Q: Do you think that he ( the guy from “Should’ve Said No”) secretly likes being named in your songs? TS: Yeah, probably. Those kinds of guys like getting attention – because I mean, what else is he doing? He’s probably with six different girls who don’t know that they’re being played.
Q: Has he (Drew from “Teardrops on My Guitar”)  contacted you?
TS: Actually, he showed up in my driveway a couple of months ago, and it was like in the movies where at the end the guy shows up in your driveway, and you have this awesome kiss – except it’s three years too late. I’m like, Why didn’t you do this years ago ?!? He was stranger by then, so I felt like I didn’t know him anymore.
Q: Do you ever write songs about anyone other than yourself?
TS: “Tied Together With a Smile” is about a girl I knew my freshman year. She was absolutely Miss Popular, a pageaant girl, and she looked perfect every day! Always had the cutest outfits, always looked teh best at prom. But sometimes when you get a litle closer to people who look that perfect, you realize that they don’t feel perfect. They feel they’re ugly. And that’s what happened with this girl- I became closer friends with her, and one day she confessed that she was bulimic.
Q: How did that make you feel?
TS: It was really hard for me to take. But I never want to make someone feel horrible. do not deserve to be treated like that. I try to reason with  them and be calm about it. After a while, I was just like, "You don't need to do that anymore." So I played that song for her, and I said, "Who do you think that's about?" And honestly, I don't think she ever did it after that.
Q: Have you ever felt bad about the way you look?
TS: Everybody does! Everybody looks in the mirror and is like, I wonder why her eyes are huge and mine are smaller. But I realized that if you’re lucky enough to be different from everybody else, don’t change.
Q: Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be someone eise?
TS: Oh, my gosh, if I were a different person and I could start all over, I would want to be Hayley Williams from Paramore! I think she’s awesome, and their music is amazing. But you know, I love country music more than anything  in the world – I would never change what I do.
Picture 4
“I’ve seen a lot of you get new cars”, she joke to those who worked on the album (Fearless)
Picture 5
YOU (2009)
FAVORITE BOOK – Who Will Cry When You Die? By Robin S. Sharma. It’s a self-help but It’s na easy read. Every page has a new thing you can do to show the people you love that they matter to you. It makes you appreciate what you have. I have a lot more good days now that I’ve read that.
STYLE ICON – Cahrlize Theron. Thank you for saying I look a bit like her – taht makes my whole week.
BEAUTY PRODUCTS – My favourite lip colour is Dragon Girl by Nars;l realy like Armani make-up and there's a perfume that l get when ľ'm in the UK called Midnight Rain by La Prairie. And I love Jo Malone candles.
I: As ever, she sounds too good to be true . It might be one reason why. If we're being honest what eveyone realy wants to see is Taylor Swit being a litte bit naughty. Surely the teetotal Pollyanna façade must have cracks? Anyway, wouldn’t a bit of teenage rebellion be healthy?
TS: “I've been given the freedom to do whatever I want. I'm 19 –if want to storm out of the house and go to a club and get drunk and take my clothes off and run naked through Nashville, I can do that. I just really would rather not. I's as simple as that. It's not like I’ve been beaten down by some corporation that's forcing me to always behave myself - l just naturally do. Sometimes people are fascinated by the fact that I don't care about partying. almost to the point where they think it's weird.l think when we get to the point where it's strange for you to not be stumbing around high on something at 19, t's a warped world.”
Picture 6
PEOPLE, 2009
Q: You just gave a $250,000 donation to schools you had previously attended or worked with. Why schools?
TS: The schools that I went to and the amazing people I got to learn from relly turned me into who I am, and I wanted to give back.
Q:If you’ve done all this by the time you turned 20, what do you want to do bu the time you turn 30?
TS:I think I’d like to have made a couple more albums that I’m really proud of. I’d like to have a house. I’m not the kid the girl who makes a goal for herself of getting married or starting a family. I’ve never really put a timeline on those sorts of things. So I don’t have any personal goals by the time I’m 30.
(midnight rain vibe)
Picture 7
Q: What would you say is your biggest love “don’t” ?
TS: No one wants to be with someone who desperately needs them. You should want the other person and love him, but you shouldn’t need him. If you depend on him for your happiness, that’s not good ,because what will you do when it ends?
Picture 8
TIGER BEAT
I CALLED THIS ALBUM RED BECAUSE.. “all the different emotions written about on this album, they’re all about the tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semitoxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years. In my mind, all of those emotions are red.”
(I think this is the first time I see her referring to this relationship as toxic before 2022)
Picture 9
BOP 2012
Taylor Swift looks down at the floor as she talks about the songs on her new album, Red (it comes out October 22). "They're sad, if I'm being honest,"she confesses. Tay's big blue eyes get a little teary as she thinks about her life right now.In the last two years. Tay says she's felt "all of those emotions, travels around spanning from intense love, intense the workd with frustration, jealousy and confusion." She also admits. "There's been this earth-shattering. not recent, but absolute crash-and-bum neartbreak."
(in this interview they are weird about her parents divorce)

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #87
I'm still going to procrastinate talking about ACEs. Though it's not because I'm too terribly frightened of writing about it at this moment; I have a vague plan about where I wanna start. No, today I'm procrastinating because Br is visiting my house for today!!! And this is the greatest thing ever all by itself, but!!! She brought over a thing called "Cream of Rice"!!
Tumblr media
It is basically a box full of rice that has been ground into a fine powder, with vitamins and minerals added. I had never seen anything like it before!
Br prepared the cream of rice on the stovetop in my trusty wok with milk, salt, and butter! Then we put almond butter, blueberries, and sliced bananas in it! And I gotta say, the resulting stuff was SO AWESOME that we ate it all up before I even thought to take a picture for you. I'm sorry. I'll work on that.
At my house, we tend to get giant 50-pound (22.5-ish kilograms) bags of medium-grain rice (it's almost, but not quite like short-grain rice, which is the typical rice in Japan), which has a different texture and consistency than the typical rice that is available in the United States; I assume if I grind up this rice into a fine powder, it will have a slightly different consistency than the ground rice in the box.
Tumblr media
…Oh right. You probably have no idea what my world looks like, so words like "United States" and "Japan" likely mean nothing to you. That probably doesn't seem very fair, given that I know very well what yours looks like by now. Here, let's fix that; you can use this to see how my planet is shaped:
I live somewhere around here…
Tumblr media
...And Japan is over here:
Tumblr media
…Unless your planet is comprised mostly of massive, giant oceans, I think your planet must be a lot smaller than mine. It seems likely that this would also mean that your gravity is weaker than ours. And since your planet still has stunning sunsets (despite the fact that your atmosphere is probably a lot smaller, if your planet is smaller, which means the light gets bent/filtered less), I assume your atmosphere must be a bit more dense than ours, too. And these factors combined might explain why you all can have such crazy-looking flying machines that would absolutely not be possible in my world. But I digress…
Anyway! So sometimes I like to make rice pudding in my handy-dandy rice cooker with regular ol' medium-grain rice; it's got a stickier consistency than the usual rice that's available here, which makes for AMAZING pudding! But with this new "discovery" (haha!) of powdered rice and knowing full well of its deliciousness, my mind filled with ALL SORTS OF POSSIBILITIES, oh my goodness!!
…So I took my medium-grain rice and used my handy-dandy spice grinder (got it as a prize at an old job I had!) to grind it into very fine powder! Here…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So then, I went and measured out two cups of the rice powder with my handy-dandy rice cup!
Tumblr media
Then I filled the rice cooker with milk, up until the "2" line for white rice. After that, it's 1 tbsp of butter for each cup of rice! Easy peasy!
Tumblr media
Once the rice is done cooking, you're supposed to add heavy cream and sugar - 2 cups of heavy cream and half a cup of sugar, in any case. But… well… it got weird:
Tumblr media
It seems like the increased surface area of the rice, combined with the sticker consistency of short-grain rice, yielded a kind of… weird sort of rice cake? I broke it into pieces, but it's still pretty clumpy. It's not ready for sugar and heavy cream yet. After tasting some of it, it was pretty good, but I concluded that it was still a bit undercooked. So I added a bit more milk (I didn't measure; sorry...) and stirred it until it stopped being absorbed, and then added a little more milk after that, and I am putting the heat on it again as I'm writing this; hopefully that should soften any remaining clumps, but we'll see! I've never worked with powdered rice before, and I have no idea what to expect! Kitchen adventures! Now we wait for the rice cooker to beep!
That said, I am wondering if the nature of powdered rice makes it necessary to stir it continuously while cooking so that it doesn't clump like this. I imagine a wok and a whisk might be the thing to do for future iterations of "Cream of Rice Pudding". Also, Br brought some masala chai teabags in addition to the cream of rice, so I wonder what it would be like to cook the powdered rice with brewed masala chai and a little bit of honey instead of just milk or just water. I'm eager to find out!!! But not today! Next time!
...Okay! So the rice cooker beeped and is done, so I stepped away from writing to check it out, and!! Oh!! It turned out REALLY WELL. So I added the cream and sugar, and this was the result:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I think due to chemistry, physics, and surface area, next time I'll need to fill the rice cooker to the 3 line, or maybe even to the 4 line, for 2 rice cups full of powdered rice. From there, it's business as usual - 2 cups of heavy cream and half a cup of sugar. At Br's suggestion, I sprinkled in just a pinch of pink salt into my bowl (pink salt has iron in it!), and the result was EVEN BETTER. I wanna eat another bowl because it was THAT GOOD, but I know that if I do, I'm gonna end up feeling sick, so I'll make use of my impulse control skills and delayed gratification skills instead, even though that's really hard.
It's very tasty and VERY filling; I wish that I could give you a bowl of it. The fact that I cannot give you bowls filled with delicious things continues to be a source of very real grief for me. But it is what it is. I can only hope that my intentions reach you somehow, and that through this you can learn about all the awesome snacks and make them for yourself someday, as impossible as that probably is...
Well. My being here to begin with seemed like an impossibility at one point. So maybe I'll try to keep an open mind. Maybe I'll imagine that all these wonderful flavors and all these wholesome feelings can reach you and move you, somehow...
...Somehow...
Hey Sephiroth? I'm glad you're here, even if I can only know of you in an abstract sense. I'm glad you're here, even if you're just an art form. Even though you've been through so much stuff, and even though your heart and your mind probably hurt a lot right now... still I'm glad you're here. So please keep trying to learn about the kind and gentle things. Please keep seeking out the beautiful and loving things. And please try to make good choices so that no one else has to get hurt.
I love you and I'll write again tomorrow, so please stay safe out there.
Your friend, Lumine

other glow up tips?
My Experience with Lasik Eye Surgery (Trans-PRK).
Tumblr media
Investing in laser eye surgery was one of my most important parts of my physical glow up. My eyes are my best features, they're pretty, big round, dark brown, but didn't exactly work (5 dioptries). Either way, you couldn't tell because they were either hidden behind a frame of glasses, blodshot and half-closed due to lenses, or covered by extremely unnatural looking bright blue color contacts (God please forgive me). I ditched them all, got them lasered and look and feel 100% better.
Lenses.
I hate them. All the times I dropped and lost them, all the times my eyes would turn watery the moment I put them on, and the one time it got stuck in my eye and I couldn't find it and almost had a panic attack. This is my own experience, I'm not an ophthalmologist, so take this with a grain of salt (or two) and do your own research please. I'm here to share my own personal experience. My eyes used to start tearing like crazy just with soft breezes of wind and at times it was hard to keep my eyes open even though I followed all instructions. Lenses made my eyes look hooded as well and after getting my eyes lasered they don't have that droopy look, my eye area looks so much more open and awake now. I hated the discomfort, the redness, the sensitivity, having to put them on, having to put them out, having them. There could be a million explanations for these but it was just easier for me to get my eyes lasered and call it a day.
The surgery.
You put on your surgical gown and a hair cap, you lay down, they give you local anesthesia so you can't feel any pain in your eye. Laser beam for 10 seconds (felt more like 10 minutes). The surgery itself does not feel painful, just extremely uncomfortable, you can't close or move your eyes for 10 seconds, my surgeon counted back from 10 but I swear it felt like an eternity. I cried while they were lasering my eyes because I always do and I kept pinching myself and shaking my legs because I felt very nervous and was probably PMSing, but there is no actual pain, just intense discomfort and pressure, the actual pain only comes after the anesthesia wears off after a few hours, I would say it is a 7.5/10, you wear black goggles for 2 weeks, your eyes sting like crazy, it's like having dry eyes 24/7 for 2 weeks. And then 2 weeks later you wake up and your eyes actually work (miracle). I remember taking them off for the first time after weeks and being absolutely shocked about how well I could see (and at how terrible my eyebrows looked).
1 year later...
I wake up, I have 10/10 vision, and I love it. I feel like I can see better now than ever, I don't have to deal with eye sensitivities due to lenses, or worry about accidentally sitting on my glasses, I feel prettier too. There's another thing that feels very hard for me to describe, but I feel like I am directly living in the world, I feel more in touch with the world, my lenses and glasses always felt like a barrier. After your surgery, you need to wear sunglasses for 6 months. Not an issue, you should protect your eyes in any case and protecting them from the sun's UV rays has always been essential for me regardless. They need to be big especially on the sides so your eyes are protected.
To sum it up, here are my tips:
Go to a very reputable doctor at a specialized eye clinic. My doctor had 25 years of experience and over 50 000 cases.
Take all the medications that you are prescribed post-surgery and follow all instructions, focus on healing after your surgery.
Invest in a pair of high-quality UV blocking sunglasses. No, that chewed up pair from H&M you got 2 years ago won't cut it.
Reduce screen time, blue light blocking filters are your best friend. Make sure you have a support person.
You need to go to a highly reputable place obviously, you can't cheap out unless you have another pair of eyes, your doctor needs to be very experienced and good at what he does, use what resources you have to read up on your doc and his work, his ratings should be very high and of people who are happy with their results. My mom, my aunt, my grandpa all got LASIC eye surgery 20 years ago so naturally, I followed in their eye steps because they were all happy with their results. You need a support person, my parents were right with me during and after the surgery, my mom picked out the hospital and doctor for me and I could not go out of bed for 2 weeks so make sure you have some good podcasts ready and take at least 2 weeks off.
Feel free to message me or drop an ask if you have any questions.

helloooo !! i love your theme and how you organize your whole page 🙏 you seem really talented in graphics 🤭🤭 and i was wondering if you use anything specific to help make create your theme ???
HIII!!! thank u sm!! 😭😭 tbh i think experience video editing actually really helped me with graphics LMAOO i will list everything i used to do my graphics/theme below!!
graphics — ibispaint x
Tumblr media Tumblr media
literally just insert a bg photo and go crazy. that’s what i do. layering is the way to go if you want gradients etc
for textures i search keywords on pinterest like: paper texture, grain texture, light leak texture/overlay. then you import it into ibispaint and mess with the blending mode until you get something you like
Tumblr media
fonts — dafont
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the basic fonts on ibispaint are ugly Af. u DON’T wanna use those. u want cool fonts. pretty fonts!!! the 𝓐𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓽𝓲𝓬 𝓕𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓼
when you get on the website go to the Top section (they’re popular for a reason) for the good fonts, or u can just browse urself
my personal fave fonts are: New Romantics, Glitten Regular, Bush Forest, Arter, Brittainy Signature
gifs — ezgif.com
Tumblr media
^^ low quality watch me edit on ibispaint 💀
you can select different photos and import it into the website to make gifs which is what i did here and here, or convert videos into gifs like i did above :)
filters — picsart, polarr
FILTERS CHANGE THE WHOLE VIBE OF SOMETHING SO MUCH. on every header i have on my page there is some sort of filter on it. (e.g here and here both use the BRL2 filter on picsart.. i think?) polarr is also really good, i don’t use it much anymore but you can find qr codes for different filters on pinterest
overlays — pinterest
i’ve been speaking about this the whole time but pinterest is amazing for anything graphics related for textures
Tumblr media Tumblr media
/OR/ aesthetic photos for headers like this (just made this rq💀)
Tumblr media
LITERALLY JUST SEARCH “light aesthetic” [other prompts: dark aesthetic, cute aesthetic YOU GET WHAT I MEAN] and keep going
then use picsart to make a collage using the twitter header ratio
Tumblr media
AND THATS IT BASICALLY. IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE LMK🤭

Photo a day 100-112/365 coffee
You see people all the time talking about how they prepare coffee, usually with hundreds of dollars of equipment. So as a foil to the idea that you have to spend tons of cash to get a good cup of coffee, here's my process to get a good cup of coffee out of my 1950's percolator.
Tumblr media
First, measure your beans! You don't need anything fancy to do this, I used a little glass bowl and a $10 Wal-Mart Mainstays scale. It'll read in grams so it's just fine for this. Just put the bowl on the scale before you turn it on so that it 0's out with it and doesn't count the weight of the bowl when you're measuring your beans.
Getting the right amount of coffee is paramount to getting a good cup. My percolator is a 4 cup, so between 40 to 45 grams makes pretty good coffee in it. As a rule about 10-12 grams per cup if you're using a larger / smaller pot.
Tumblr media
If you want to grind your own like I do, you'll need a grinder. You CAN spend hundreds on one, but honestly as long as it makes a decent grind any grinder will do. This one was about $45 and has worked well for me for years. A burr grinder is going to give you the best results, and the most uniform grinds. But if you have a blade one that's fine too. In this case, I want a coarse grind for the percolator.
If you have one like mine that has the cup measurements on it, don't trust them. These measurements are very seldom correct, and can be inconsistent as well. It's always better to just measure what you need and grind it all on the spot.
It can be a little messy, but I'll tell ya' a secret, just grab a little hand vac and keep it handy. 2 seconds with that will suck up all the grounds that spill in a jiffy!
Tumblr media
This is what a good coarse grind for percolators should look like, grains about the size of say Kosher salt.
Tumblr media
Water up to the 4 cup fill line. If you don't have good tap water, you might want to get a filter or bottled water. It can make a big difference in the taste of your coffee.
Tumblr media
Drop the basket in, the water level should be below the bottom of the basket so that the water can filter down through it, if it's not, pour a little out.
Tumblr media
Ideally, you want to put the coffee in so that it's level all the way around the basket. This isn't perfect, but it's close enough. Make sure to not let any go down the tube when your filling, I like to use a spoon to pour it in, like in the picture below.
Tumblr media
If you want your coffee fast, you're better off with a Keurig, this takes a little time. ;)
Tumblr media
Pop the top of the basket on...
Tumblr media
... then the lid, and we're ready to go.
Tumblr media
Depending on the percolator, you may have a dial like this on the front, but most percolators now a days are just on or off deals without any kind of adjustments. In my case, I have to set the dial and then watch for the light to go off. Usually this takes 8 to 10 minutes.
If you've never heard one of these, and wondered what they sound like, now you know. :)
Tumblr media
And that's it, coffee. :) The whole process takes about 15 minutes and in my case all the equipment costs about $100. It's not a fancy espresso machine with a pretty caramel colored pull, but if you just want a good cup of coffee it's all you need.
You can get a modern percolator for about $50 from makers like Hamelton Beach, Farberware, etc. Grinder was in my case about $45, If you want to go even less expensive, and less prep, you can swap out the percolator with a regular old drip coffee maker and just change the grind from coarse to medium. (about 3/4 the size of the grounds you see in my photo.)
Tumblr media
Oh, and this is the coffee I was using, getting good coffee makes a huge difference in flavor. Most store bought coffee sits around for some time before you get it, that can lead to stale tasting coffee. This is especially likely if you buy preground coffee. This is the part of the whole process that's really worth putting the money out for. On that note, you don't have to buy stuff that's crazy expensive, this is Crazy Fox Coffee's Hoot Owl Blend. Goes for about $30 a pound with shipping.
Anywho, all this isn't to say that the hobby of making craft coffees and going for the expensive gear isn't cool, it definitely is. But if you don't have the cash for a thousand dollar espresso machine and all the assorted trappings to get the most out of it, you can still get a good cup of coffee.
Happy brewing!

hi! :) I was wondering how you get the grainy texture effect on your work? I’m always trying to get that but I feel like I can’t find the balance between being noticeable but not like crazy
ps I really love your work!! 💙🫡
Thank you!
I use later with noise (Filter>Render>Perlin noise I'm csp) but make sure to adjust the size such that the grains are small. Then I set layer to overlay mode and decrease opacity to 15-25%. Sometimes I use paper or other textures.

hi im working on my first how fic and im wondering if u could share any tips 😭 i feel like im never going to finish but i wanna contribute my own brain rot to the fandom so bad
omg hello anon!! first of all, that's super frickin exciting!! I'm not sure what kinda fic ur planning on writing, so take all this w/a grain of salt!! as a how writer of exclusively filthnasty, a lot of my advice is gonna stem from that lmao
stream of consciousness bullshit below:
only write shit u want to write.
that sounds really self-explanatory and dumb, but I mean it.
fanfiction is inherently a creative medium to play around w/anything and everything that tickles ur brain. what has the canon not given u? what more do u want? for me, it's mountain dew-tinged dick from a dumbass murderhick. so I write a lot of that in response 💀.
imo, with fic writing, u can easily get trapped into the pitfall of trying to write to appease a group of ppl/their favorite tropes/write based on what u think OTHER PPL want to read. and not what U want to write. DON'T DO THAT LMAO!!!
this especially filters into writing smut tbh.
me? I ONLY write the shit that I'm chomping @ the bit for. if I'm not ooga booga cavewoman about it......it ain’t getting written lmao. horny delirium drives 26838446% of my fics.
don't feel like u have to indulge in things that u aren't into!! it will translate into ur work and be very noticeable. that's not to say don't take risks/push past ur comfort zone!! I definitely vault over the fence of safe and sane w/the shit I write! but it’s always coming from a genuine interest and DESIRE to push those boundaries.
basically. if it doesn't make ur brain light up like a fork in the microwave, don't be scared to mix it up and see what DOES do that.
sometimes all it takes is a rewatch of this dumbass movie to get the gears inside my peanut brain spinning and then I'm off to the races. other times, I just have ideas bopping around my brain like errant ping pong balls, and nothing really hits. that's fine!! even tho it feels so ANNOYING lmao. u won't always be inspired or have 7834847447 words in ur head to spit out. that's v normal.
reading and engaging with other ppl's fics can be endlessly inspiring and fun as hell!! I also STRONGLY suggest reading other things as well. NON-fic related things!! books, poetry, articles. read!!! getting different perspectives/stories about things wholly seperate from fandom is so valuable. u can pick up on writing techniques and see the myriad of ways ppl use language!! even if u end up reading things u dislike, that doesn't take away from the value of it. bc now u know what to avoid/omit in ur own work!!
also. don't feel like u have to write a huge massive magnum opus for ur first fic. my first contribution to this fandom was 2k words of weird debauchery bc I watched this movie and immediately wanted botulism splintertoenail to be mean to me. that was straight up my first n only thought after finishing this fuckin film. like.......OH........what I would give 2 be degraded w/a beer bottle while this loser watches jeopardy or some shit. 🤡🪦 I was coasting purely on the bimbo gas fumes that were leaking out of the screen. I suggest u do the same.
don't overthink it!!! just have fun!! this is our sillygoofy degenerate hobby!! write from the heart (or the pussy, idk live ur life) and don't take urself too seriously. we're all just playing dolls w/a bunch of stinky murdermen. go crazy go stupid 🤪🔨

Vegan cooking resources that have helped me out a lot
Budget Bytes is amazing. If you have $12 to throw at a printable online cookbook I would recommend it, the cookbook is basically meal planning with weekly grocery lists. If that's not your jam, above is the link for her vegan recipes.
Bad Manners is a vegan chef outfit. I have a few of their cookbooks and I love them, although they can be a little hard to follow. I've linked their recipe list and it looks like you can apply filters for different types of meals and ingredients.
Tofu is very versatile. Here's a cool list of marinades that kicks ass. I recommend pressing the water out of firm tofu if you're cooking it. You don't have to marinate but it can help. The flavor of plain tofu has actually grown on me as long as it's not all I can taste in the dish.
To press I typically wrap it in paper towels and then an absorbent dish towel. Then place it between two plates and I put maybe 2-4 cans of beans or whatever on top. Let that baby sit for as long as you want, 30 minutes is generally the recommended time but you can let it go longer or a little shorter if you're super crunched on time.
Freezing tofu is a decent method of preservation if you have too much to eat or it's going to go bad (almost never a problem for us, and it keeps pretty well in the fridge). Do note that freezing tofu completely changes the texture and essentially turns it into a sponge. You can squeeze water out of it with your hands and it soaks up marinades like crazy but it doesn't hold together too well for frying and you can turn it into a giant mess if you try to press it with too much weight (it will fall apart).
A favorite method of cooking tofu is frying it with a cornstarch crust. I don't bother making it fancy, usually just salt and cornstarch is my jam. I wouldn't recommend marinating it first because if it's too soggy the crust doesn't stick well to the tofu. Also do not recommend making this in advance because the crust turns gummy if you leave it sit too long. Super tasty for dinner over rice and stir fried veggies though!!!
This is a pretty decent guide. Also, a lot of the "vegan diets aren't good for you/a good way to get your nutrients" that you hear about people who quit veganism are people who either didn't plan it very well/did not get supplements or did something bananas like a raw food vegan diet and it didn't work out for them. I tend to not plan my food too well aside from "protein, vegetable, grain" and I get my fats and sugars from the oils I use to cook and the sugars that come with the other categories or the junk food part of my diet. Pure junk food vegan isn't very sustainable and neither is raw vegan. If you're going to go vegan you will likely have to do a lot of cooking for yourself. I keep chickn nuggets around for lazy nights but if I have the energy I'm making something with chickpeas and rice or beans and rice or tofu or seitan as the protein of the dish.
Contrary to popular belief you do not have to subsist off of quinoa and avocados. I barely eat either because a) don't really like quinoa and b) avocados suck because I live in Alaska and it's nearly impossible to get good avocados.
Another point is to not beat yourself up if you accidentally use/consume an animal product. It happens to the best of us, best thing to do is to move on with the knowledge of what to avoid in the future.
The more you learn on this journey will likely lead you to conclusions you never saw coming. You may be in less denial about what happens to farmed animals. You will be upset about the little non-vegan parts of foods that could easily be vegan (see: gelatin in cereal for some reason. milk powder in chips.). You will find yourself avoiding leathers and furs. You will find yourself absolutely horrified with standard practices in animal agriculture the more you open your mind to learning about it. You will also find yourself more open to seeing animals in a different way. I was a carnist a little over two years ago. I'm still a rather new vegan, but it's amazing what a paradigm shift I've experienced.
Going vegan helped me in ways I never expected. It helped me emotionally with the trauma around the hobby farm I grew up on. Actually uncovered some memories I had blocked out. It also feels good to know that I'm not contributing to the suffering of industrialized animal agriculture.
Anyways, go vegan! The vegan society defines veganism as "as far as practicable" and for most people that is a lifestyle and diet completely without animal products. Sometimes there are barriers for people and reducing animal consumption as much as you can is still helpful.

Harman Phoenix 200 - A Funky-Fresh Color Film Made in the UK
youtube
New Film, Who Dis?
It’s been a long time since I’ve decided to do a blog post documenting my experiences with a film, but I think this is a very worthy occasion. Just yesterday, December 1st, 2023, Harman Photo over in the UK launched their very first color film! That’s right, the folks that have brought us some of the film photography staples of HP5+, Multigrade Papers, Delta, XP2, and more are entering the color arena. Harman Phoenix 200 is a color negative, C-41 process film that’s unlike any fresh film I’ve ever shot.
Harman was kind enough to send out a little care package containing a slew of marketing knickknacks and most importantly two rolls of this new film. They provided a few notes for pre-launch users of the film like: ISO, where to process, suggested ISO range, and throughout their introduction letter kept mentioning that this is an experimental film. Users were to expect: high contrast in most lighting situations, heavy grain even when well-exposed, unique color rendering, and halation in the brightest highlight areas. At the time of testing, I wasn’t working with the depth of information that is out there now on this film like the official datasheet. Without much more to go on than that, I loaded up my trusty old Pentax K1000 with 50mm f/2 lens and headed out to a local park with Laur and our new Borzoi puppy, Echo.
For the entirety of this first roll of film, I still had no idea what the results would look like, even from other photographers! I wasn’t trying to take any crazy chances, so I shot this 200 ISO film at box speed, checking my Reveni Labs Incident Light Meter in between shots to make sure I wasn’t going too far over/under. I was also playing it safer than normal in terms of lighting, trying as much as possible to include some direct daylight in each shot. November afternoons don’t last long in Ohio, so the direct, blue sky sun quickly turned to an even, pastel sky during our mile-long hike at the park.
I didn’t manage to shoot all 36 exposures in that short hike, so with the remaining dozen or so shots I took a jog around downtown Columbus, OH the following afternoon. This time I was really aiming for as many direct sun compositions as possible to see how the film handled a standard 5-stop dynamic range scene as close to the color balance as possible. For many of the brightly lit scenes shot this way, I employed the use of my Promaster HGX 2-8 stop Variable ND filter to knock down the exposure to the limited shutter speed range of my K1000. Time to send off my test roll to The Darkroom, the official Harman Photo lab for the USA.
A Tale of Two Films
Not even 48 hours after receiving my order, The Darkroom had already processed, scanned, and uploaded my order to their online system for preview. I was excited, to say the least, that is until I took a look at the scans. Nearly every single shot had crunchy grain, crazy contrast, and an extreme orange + teal dual tone color cast. And if the main subject matter was even partially backlit, goodbye to those highlights (the worst three off of those scans shown below).
My initial excitement quickly faded to an uneasy stomach and mild anxiety as I waited for the negatives to arrive back from California. It was at this point that I started reaching out to other film shooters I knew that might also be testing out Harman 200. A few replied back with some quick examples and one even sent me some of their personal tips and tricks. Faith hadn’t fully been restored, but I was no longer losing sleep over the lab scans and waiting to see what the negatives had in store.
Only two days after leaving The Darkroom, a FedEx package was on my doorstep with my test film and to my surprise, THE NEGATIVES WERE PURPLE! Harman had mentioned “a surprise” that they didn’t want to spoil, but this was not something I was anticipating. Of course those automated lab scans were going to look weird, the film base didn’t even have the standard orange masking layer that helps with the daylight color balance! It was back to the drawing board with scanning my first roll, and below are the three very different renditions of the same exact negative.
This also serves as a cautionary tale those of you sending this out to a lab. Make sure the lab you’re using knows about Phoenix 200 and some of its quirks. There is full scanning compensation data available on Harman’s website as well as the official datasheet for photographers.
The first scan is what The Darkroom sent out for preview. the second scan was done with my Epson V700 scanner in “Auto Correct”, and the third scan was with manual inversion. To manually invert the negative, it’s a pretty drawn-out process for a single frame, but gives you access to the full range the film has to offer. On a scanner like the V700, you have to go into the Configuration menu of Professional Mode and Disable Color Correction and also scan color negatives as Color Positive. From there, the positive scan is manually inverted using Adjustment Curves and Camera RAW Filters in Photoshop.
Was all of the extra effort worth it? If you like and of the photographs in the gallery at the top of this blog post, or any of the cooler-to-neutral looking photos in the galleries below, I’d say it’s worth it! Personally, my favorite look is somewhere between Epson’s Auto Color setting and the expired Ektachrome look of the manually inverted negatives. Sometimes the super-retro vibes of the warm + cyan look can work, but other times I’d like to see some more fleshed out blues, reds, and greens.
To the Studio!
By this time in my limited film test, I was a bit more hopeful about Harman Phoenix 200, but still wanted to try it out in a more controlled environment. With only a few days until the December 1st launch date, I called up my buddy Tariq Tarey to see if he was up for a quick studio shoot. If you’re not familiar with Tariq’s work, you should be. He’s an absolute master of portraiture, and his technical skill with light and cameras is only outdone by his charming personality.
Knowing a bit more about the contrasty nature of Phoenix 200 firsthand, I gave Tariq the heads-up that we would need to be working with a very tight lighting ratio. I suggested something close to a 1:1 ratio, meaning that the key/main light and any fill light hitting the subject was to be at the same intensity. With modern films and/or digital cameras this look often feels “flat” and sometimes even boring. Harman’s experimental color film managed to eek some drama out of an ordinarily lit scene.
Pictured above you can see the results of a simple 5-shot bracket with the Sekonic Exposure Profile Target. Metered for the box speed of ISO 200, the shots are in order of Exposure Values: -2, -1, 0, +1, and +2. Now I can see why Harman kept mentioning that this wasn’t a film meant for pushing! This film packs some contrast, even in flat light with a simple greyscale chart. There were two big surprises in this test. First off was the blown highlights; only the EV -1 and -2 had highlights that weren’t showing significant magenta halation; this film has a mild anti-halation layer compared to other color films on the market. The second surprise was that the EV 0 exposure, essentially ISO 200, looked more like one would expect from an underexposed chart (looks about 2/3 stop under IMO). Overall I found the colors rather pleasing in the overexposed charts (essentially ISO 50 & 100), so I’d recommend rating Harman Phoenix 200 somewhere around ISO 100 - 125. This feels like a film that would pull process well, so more testing to do on that front when I purchase some more.
But enough about grey boxes and a still life, how does this higher contrast film translate to a sitting subject in the studio? Well Tariq and I had the better part of 24 exposures to mess around with in that same lighting setup, and we each tried a few poses with each other as the model. That light coming in from camera-left in the portraits is only 1/2 stop over the the key light, something big to keep in mind when working with subjects with deep-set eyes (like yours truly!). Fill, fill, fill. If you’re shooting portraits with this film, do it in dead-even light and bring that bounce card or fill light in annoying close to make sure you get something in those shadows. Phoenix 200 is about as forgiving in the shadows as expired slide film, meaning if it’s not there at the time of exposure, the only thing that will be there after processing is grain.
Closing Thoughts
Phoenix 200 is everything Harman said it would be in their FAQ sent out to testers, I just wish they would have sent out more data (more film wouldn’t have hurt either!). Thanks to a great contact in the industry, I was able to obtain a digital copy of the film’s datasheet < 24 hours before launch day and releasing an overview video on the subject. My personal gripes with Harman’s marketing aside, this is a film that I is going to be polarizing. Within the first day of launch there are already reports of retailers worldwide already running out of stock, while online many are flocking to the comments section to rail on the fact that this film isn’t God’s gift to photography. There’s no way that a brand new color film (made in just this past year!) is going to beat the nearly 100 year lead that Kodak has perfected over countless iterations. And to be perfectly honest, we don’t need another Portra. If we want something unique, and if the film community truly wants innovation, THIS is how it starts.
If you’d like to pick up a few rolls to support the industry in a positive direction, I’d recommend checking out your local camera shop, wherever Ilford and Harman products are sold. For the convenience of shopping online, there’s no better place I know of than The Film Photography Store. My buddy Michael Raso over at The Film Photography Project is offering a special discount of $1 off of each roll of Harman Phoenix 200 color film that you order. Simply use coupon code “LFF” during checkout; the deal ends December 15th, 2023.
Thanks for stopping by the blog, if you liked this little write-up and would like to check out more, be sure to head over to the YT channel for more film photography content. And if you’d like to support what you see here, head over to the galleries and snag a print or two.

TS anon back again. I’d consider myself a Swiftie and I’m so so sorry that you received death threats just b/c you didn’t care for her music. Or at all for that matter, like you could tell me that you absolutely hated her and I’d just shrug and say she not for everyone. I’ll try to keep the hyperfixation contained but if it becomes to much just let me know. And I really hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don’t think your dash is going to get better for at least a couple of days. We’ve really really been looking forward to this and with the Era tour it’s just gotten us hyped up even more. So I will apologize in advance for the overflow of Taylor. I will say that if there are any crazies that give you trouble I will be more than happy to out crazy them for you💛
Oh my god no, don't let me stop you from posting about the things you love and care about! Honestly, I'm not sny better with spamming people's dashes with the stuff I'm currently obsessed with (sorry for yesterday y'all 😅) it's just sometimes I feel the need to complain and this morning when i was greeted by TS content instead of my own hyperfixations, my mind said say something about it 😈 I don't have a filter, well..let's just say it doesn't work most of the time so take most thing I blast into the universe with a grain of salt 😭 Please don't let me ruin your interests amd such, I'd hate to think someone would do the same to me!

Cine Obscura - Motion Picture Film Recipe For Fujifilm
Tumblr media
Movie-Like Film Simulation Recipe for Fujifilm X-Trans IV Cameras
Mood: Dark, Low-Light, Motion I've been shooting film for a while and have been looking forward to creating a motion picture film recipe for Fujifilm cameras. This is one of the film simulation recipes for night photography which is called 'Cine Obscura', a new addition to the Obscura recipes. If you haven't heard of any Obscura recipes, then you can check out Vision Obscura and Carbon Obscura. You can check out some of my Kodak Vision3 500T photo samples that I've shot on my rangefinder film camera. Alright, let's get back to the film recipe. Shooting still images that look cinematic can be really fun if you have run out of street photography ideas because you get to train your photography skills and make use of the rule of thirds frequently. In case you don't have a film camera to enjoy shooting motion picture films, you can use the Cine Obscura motion picture film recipe on your Fujifilm camera instead.
What Cine Obscura Film Recipe Is All About?
Cine Obscura is probably one of the best low-light film recipes I've ever created, inspired by the Eastman Kodak motion picture film. Created with the Classic Negative as base film simulation, this recipe can create similar colour to the motion picture film. If you like the CineStill 800T or Kodak Vision3 500T, then this Cine Obscura film recipe for Fujifilm is the best low-light camera setting for you.To get more of the movie tone, it is best used along with any diffusion filters in the market out there, whether it's from K&F, Tiffen or Moment. You can also get the highest density to make your a lot more dreamy in your photos.Shooting with the base Classic Negative film simulation at night might add noise if the ISO is too high, so you can bump down the film grain level to Weak/Small or turn it off completely if you like. The motion picture film recipe Cine Obscura is created only for night photography or videography and is not suitable for daylight use because you might end up getting a really 'cool' mood in your images.
Using Cine Obscura For Video
Can I use this film recipe for a video shoot? Of course, you can! You can set this film recipe in your Fujifilm camera for shooting video if you are not planning to use any colour grading. Most of the low-light film recipes that I have can be used for cinematic videos such as the Cira 800 and One for the Road (B&W), both film recipes are inspired by a popular film from Hong Kong. You can even go crazy by adjusting the video settings and making some epic videos like in the movies.
