Hi, I'm really new at tumblr (and english haha) so I'm not sure if i am doing this right, anyways, I was wondering if you could please help me find a bingqiu fic, I remember Shen Yuan wasn't Shen Qingqiu, instead he was somekind of OP beast tamer, Luo Binghe met him when he was already a demon lord, it was fast burn (maybe a one shot or a really short fic?) , I also remembre Luo Binghe calling himself a beast since he was tamed by SY.

I don't think I've seen anyone bring up the parallels of Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan and Yue Qingyuan/Shen Jiu, as in, both SY and YQY kept important information from the people they loved, leaving SJ and LBH to think that they don't care about them. It's fascinating, because of YQY lack of communication, it caused SJ to be cruel to others, which is exactly what happened with LBH after SY refused to tell him that he didn't hate him. I know LBH and SJ are supposed to have a lot of parallels, but this is another layer that I haven't really thought about before

Bingliu has all of lqg’s confidence, lbh’s social graces, and both of their crippling need to avoid failure!

Bingqiu loves himself sooooo much, is pretty detached, and definitely thinks he’s better than everyone else. He’s just helping, why are you running away!

In the ficlet I said lqg doesn’t like interacting with BingQiu (or… sqq thinks that) but really it’s because BingQiu mercilessly flirts and teases him, is effortlessly stronger than him, and kind of projects ‘oh you sweet thing, I could just eat! you! up! [pinches cheeks]’ energy and this is such a contrast from his interactions with lbh and sqq that he just gets very awkward all the time about it.

I really dislike the Shen Jiu and Shen Yuan are the same person the fandom somewhat has going on sometimes. They are not. That's the point.

Shen Jiu was traumatized and took that out on kids, Shen Yuan got traumatized over the course of the books (the plants growing in him and him having to rip them off of him while he has to carry Luo Binghe's unconscious body really is terrifying and that's just one exemple) but he never takes it out on anybody. LBH fell in love with him because he is kind when the other was not, that's the point (and a common theme in the mxtx novels when I think about it). He was awful.

Shen Yuan is natural at teaching and Shen Jiu is awful and should not be near children in a tracing position.

I always feel a bit insulted on SY's behalf when I see that take.That doesn't mean SY doesn't make mistakes but not this. The first thing he tries to do is to stop Luo Binghe from being bullied, something Shem Jiu encouraged.

I’ve only seen people conflate the two when they want to milk sympathy for Shen Jiu by claiming that Shen Yuan “stole” his happily ever after. But no, Shen Jiu and Shen Yuan are not the same, and that’s the point. Shen Jiu was never going to get a happy ending because his resentment and his pride made him unable to admit his wrongs and do right. Shen Yuan almost fucked up his own happy ending not because he was too prideful but because he wanted to go about righting his wrongs while not listening to his victim. He ultimately succeeds, though, because he can admit his faults and change, the one thing Shen Jiu is unwilling to do.

thinking about how when luo binghe gets back from the abyss he doesn’t know why his teacher kicked him in. sqq had told him that not all demons were evil, only to then declare his heritage meant he was actually worse than most demons and couldn’t be by his side. he comes back for answers, afraid to return to sqq as his disciple so he goes to huanhua palace. he is sent on a mission to investigate a weird outbreak. he sees sqq. 

sqq looks shocked, but then says nothing. did he expect lbh to die? did he want him to? if he hates lbh so much why didnt he expose him as a demon? why did he instead just say he died? sqq could stand there, right now, and declare him as a demon and condemn everyone from huanhua for housing and protecting a demon. but he just stands there shocked. he wants answers. 

he goes to see his shizun late at night. sqq was expecting LUI QINGGE to be visiting his room of all things. sqq run from him when he just wants to fucking talk, to ask why sqq kicked him into the abyss. he acts like lbh is going to kill him. luo binghe cant understand why. cant understand what he possibly did to make sqq think he’s some horrible monster. what happened to the man who told him what mattered was the moral character of demons and humans? what happened to the man who saw the worst parts of his psyche and trauma and protected him? what happened to the man who called for him every day, the one who trusted luo binghe, the one who put his honor on the line bc he believed luo binghe could do anything? who made him special practice books? 

then in the water prison he blames lbh more. says hes the one who was responsible for framing him. for orchestrating the whole thing. he refuses to even wear his outer robes, preferring instead to be cold, wet, and half naked than wear a shred of clothing from luo binghe. when he escapes, he instantly blames luo binghe for killing guards and gongyi xiao, even though while he isn’t happy with them he wouldn’t go so far as to kill them. why does sqq assume the worst in him? assume he’s a monster? assume he’s manipulative, underhanded, vicious, and cruel? 

but then, during a qi deviation, even though sqq could have used it to escape, he once again jumped in between lbh and danger. he gave up his life to save lbh. why? didnt he think lbh was horrible? didnt he think lbh was ruining his life? he hears that sqq bet an enormous amount of money on him at the alliance. that he didnt even return lbh’s sword but buried it and mourned it. that he was losing his mind from grief. that he lied about lbh dying to protect his honor, so it wasn’t revealed that he was half demon.

luo binghe probably couldn’t make sense of it. did he act afraid the whole time because he thought he had wronged lbh? did he think binghe was back for revenge? to hurt and kill him? did he feel guilty, and thats why he ran? why still give his life to save him? why did sqq keep doing things that didn’t make sense?

but no answers came. he was just left alone with the body of the man who was his savior and protector, and the man who feared him more than anyone. the man who both cherished and shunned him. the only other person besides his mother who truly loved him, and now he was gone too. gone before they could make amends. gone before he could get answers. gone before he could tell sqq he never hated him, that he loved him.

1 - first meeting

The first time lbg met sj he was immediately smitten.

Sj was everything lbh ever wanted to be. Beautiful, strong, composed.

Lbh wanted to be like him and luckily he had already been planning to join a cultivation sect. Lbh wanted to know everything about sj but decided there would a be better time for that. Lbh wanted sj to look at him and he was. Lbh wanted sj to know everything about him so he told him about his most dearest: his mother. Lbh wanted, wanted, and wanted-

The scalding hot liquid dripping down his face and his tears blurred his vision.

2 - demonic invasion

Lbh was scared.

There were demons everywhere, hurting his martial siblings and destroying the sect.

Then sj showed up. He would've looked as pristine as always were his right torso and part of his sleeve not covered in blood.

He talked with the demoness leading the attack and fought one of her followers. He won astoundingly fast through an astoundingly dirty move and lbh could've sworn the bloodstain grew.

The sect lost the second fight and lbh could see what would happen next as the demoness presented an opponent covered in poisoned armor.

Sj would never let a disciple of a different peak be killed if it would harm his reputation and the disciple of qing jing he liked least was-

"luo binghe"

He looked at shizun with desperation. Pleading in his gaze for him to change his mind but sj didn't even spare him a glance. 

Throughout the one-sided fight he wanted sj to look at him. Wanted him to see what he had caused. Wanted to die knowing sj would at least remember that he wasn't just a beast but a person that died for him.

But when he managed a glance sj he was staring into nothingness in their vague direction. Fury and hopeless like no other overcame lbh at that and he managed to pull enough power out of his meager reserves to send his sword through his opponents eye right into his brain and kill him.

3 - falling into the abyss

By now lbh knew better than to want anything from his shizun but half dead and not able to think he wanted sj to stop  looking at him like that.

The world swam around him and lbh only barely managed to stay standing and as the ground rumbled beneath him again he staggered a step closer to sj in his effort not to fall into hell.

Lbh wanted sj to take a step back to take a step forward but sj didn't move. Lbh wanted- needed sj to look at him with anything other than the utter contempt on his face but sj didn't. Lbh wanted sj to reach a hand out to him, maybe stabalize him or even just a touch on the shoulder, he did.

Sj placed his hand on his shoulder. Than he took a step closer. The loathing ob sj's face changed to uncaring blankness. And lbh was bushed backwards into the endless abyss.

It had been the first time he had gotten anything even remotely like what he wanted from his shizun and it was what left him to suffer in hell for years.

4 - return

After lbh managed to escape the endless abyss after two years there and conquered the demonic realm he finally felt ready to return to the demon realm and take revenge on sj. He wanted humiliate him, wanted to hurt him, wanted him to suffer als lbh did, wanted to pay back the hurst sj caused him by hundredfold.

And as he saw sj once again: no longer the heavenly immortal lbh had always seen him as but just a particularly cruel and particularly beautiful man lbh knew he would have what he wanted and this time on his terms.

5 - company

Lbh wasn't lonely.

He had his pretty wives, had his witty wives, had his indulgent wives, had his stubborn wives, had his loving wives, had his yingying - who loved and supported and counseled him, his hualing - who went to war with and for him and who matched his temper blow for blow and scream for scream, his mingyan - who ruled beside him and who he brought the worst out of and had his worst brought out in return - but it was never enough. Lbh wasn't lonely just insatiable.

He always wanted more. Wanted more wives, wanted more riches, wanted more land, wanted more love.

And always after he didn't get his fill and went to sj, not entirely sure anymore what it was he wanted of and from him.

+1 - beginning

sj doesn’t want for anything. he has long since learned that shoud you desire something you have to either get it yourself or forget about it.

but he knew what want, in all its different forms, looked in others. he’s had it directed at him enough to understand it: the desire to own the pretty slave when he stayed with the qiu - from both haitang and jianluo though haitang’s was considerably softer and naiver, the desperation in qi-ge - seeking forgiveness for the sin of leaving a broken doll behind after promising t return for it, the envy in his fellow desciples for his rise to the top and his position as head disciple.

lbh’s was a mixture of all of them as he sat before sj.

the beast’s visits had grown softer in recent months and sj knew he had already won.

leaving lbh won’t ever be possible for sj but leaving this prison will be easy. he knew what lbh wanted, knew how to give it to him, knew how to manipulate the situation to his own gain.

already lbh had put him in a softer prison, it would only be a matter of time before he escaped this cage.

sj had been trapped for his whole life - even after becoming a peak lord - but if becoming the beast’s would mean qi-ge would be safe he would be content.

and if someone as vile as lbh wanted his affection and was willing to give his to someone as vile as sj in return then he would give it.
