Ok so I guess this is a weird question, but what do you think about wally and dick being in a relationship? would it be healthy? would it last long? all those types of questions. I've been getting into dc recently, and I've been starting to realize alot of people ship those two, admittedly I can see why, I'm starting to like them too. Pretty sure I saw someone call them every Dick Grayson/Wally West stan "required phase", it would be a life if I said I didn't snort at that. But I've been curious if they would even work out, with their plans for their lives being so different, clashing with each other
Absolutely!
In fact I think that if Dick and Wally ever got into a canonical relationship, they would never ever break up which would be a massive problem for DC because DC needs their IT boy Dick Grayson to be shipped with as many people as possible. lol.
No but really the reason they're so great together is because Wally really, really cares about Dick's mental health. He's canonically made it his mission to make sure Dick is happy and safe and he loves his best friend so much. Dick has grown up with wally since they were tiny kids and he knows every detail of Wally's life and loves him. The Flash Plus comic is just the two of them being best buddies.
So considering the amount of love and care Wally and Dick have for each other. In Titans (2016) Wally literally writes a love letter to Dick. (they call it a friendship letter but c'mon who're they tryna fool.)

Titans (2016) Issue #15
Do you know what Wally does? He literally turns back time in order to prevent Dick from dying. Wally is retiring because he has a heart condition. He can't run. He can't be the flash anymore.
But.

Titans (2016) Issue #15
For Dick he killed himself.
I genuinely don't think it's possible for Dick to have a healthier relationship with anyone than he does with Wally. They're like cotton candy, white snow, salsa mix love. The purest, softest, fluffiest romance with a whirlpool of fun and excitement.
Something Wally mourns a lot in the comics is his loss of contact with Dick.
Tumblr media
The Flash (1987) Issue #210
The reason they don't talk as much is because Wally is busy with Linda and Dick can't just third wheel a marriage. I mean he sort of already does but anymore than now and he would be living with them. Permanently.
I think the only issue they would have is the different cities. Neither of them would be willing to move because Wally loves Central City and Dick loves Bludhaven. However they would still be able to maintain a long distance relationship easily because even as friends they go on annual vacations, just the two of them, simply to hang out with each other. Also the occasional drop ins.
As soon as Wally heard Dick and Barbara broke up-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nightwing (1996) Issue #88
The only time Dick and Wally have fought is when Dick is refusing self-care and Wally is so mad at him for neglecting his mental health. But even then it's more of a - fine. I'm leaving you alone for now until you get your stuff together. I know you can do it. - type thing. They would definitely work out despite the separate cities thing because Wally has unconditional trust and love for Dick and Dick loves Wally .just as much.
Besides, living in two cities is no problem for a speedster
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nightwing (2016) Issue #15
They're the classic childhood friends to lovers trope without all the backstabbing and betrayal stuff you see in movies. It doesn't matter if people even ship them or not at this point because if you asked them they would probably just marry each other and call it "bromance."

Reading Ted Newsome and John Brancato's Spiderman script
1.So we start with an artsy shot of a spider web before showing our antagonist Doc Ock working on the Cyclotron (Im assuming this is the The Mcguffin ).I like the intro to Ock,working with a tenticaled doodad, while taking a drag of a cigarette and eating a chili dog.I also like the depiction of him as a brooding broadly built guy with long hair ,a bit unkempt with stains on his shirt due to being focused on his work
2.So we are introduced to Ocks colleagues, and OC's for the film Thorkle (Tall thin guy wearing glasses in his 40's) and Rossomoff (Who despite being 75 is very spry). The writers were Hammer fans so wrote these roles with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee respectfully in mind ....Which I see it ,but Lee was younger then Cushing but whatever, maybe makeup
3.So Bob Hoskins was the main choice for Doc Ock .....And I kind of love the idea of this super genius having Hoskins signature Cockney accent
4.Also Rossomoff admits he doesnt like Thorkle to Ock,RIGHT IN FRONT OF THORKLE .DAaaaaaaaaaaamn what did Thorkle do to get disdain from both Ock and Rossomoff ???
5.Huh Peter is a collage student here instead of Highschool.Neat
6."Curtis Connors Science center " Cute
7.So Harry Osborne here is an awkward weird friend in a heavy metal T Shirt......So he is basically Evil Ed from Fright Night
8.Liz Allen is reading Jane Austin ....Dont know what else to say but she is
9.Also so Liz Allen is the romantic interest instead of Gwen Stacy or Mary Jane Watson....Interesting
10.Liz and Peter flirt by saying how much they dont like eachother.....Kay
11."Doc Ock has a cigarette dangling out of his mouth as there is a no smoking sign behind him"....OK that made me laugh
12,Otto is so dead inside,I love it
13.Harry stole a rabbit from a science lab and releases it and a dozen Basset hounds into a library .....What an elaborate prank
14.Huh Jameson is introduced BEFORE Petey became Spider-Man
15.Also should point out Stan Lee wanted to play JAmeson
16.So Aunt May here is a woman in her 50's,very stylish and full of life......So the opposite of comic Aunt May ,and thank the Lord for that .Honestly this feels more like modern takes on Aunt May
17.Uncle Ben seems nice ,not the brightest guy but clearly cares for Peter but isnt sure how fatherly to be
18.So Doc Ock is forced to quit an experiment but does it secretly anyway causing an explosion....huh....Why do I feel Spider-Man 2002,Spider-Man 2 and Into the Spiderverse took elements from this movie
19.I like that the accident that makes Otto Doctor Octopus also mutates the Spider that bites Peter
20.Love the pure joy Peter has at finding his powers
To be continued

mischa headcanon time !!
except its all just me projecting random things onto him wooooo
ik i already said he was lactose intolerant but also wanna mention that (like most lactose intolerant ppl) he just does not care. can and will eat a shit ton of dairy and someone will be like 'hey isn't that gonna mess up your stomach?' n hes just like 'lol yea'
weird abt eye contact so sometimes he wont be looking at you during a conversation but sometimes hes just, intensely stare at you, for like no reason. if u ask abt it he'll just shrug but it can be very frightening when you dont notice and all of a sudden you turn and see him just like 😶
will also creepy stare at you if he wants to stop doing something without having to actually say that
for example he hates when people make mouth noises (like loud chewing) so he will just stare at you until you get creeped out n stop
he is trans (real not fake) !!!!!
gets dysphoric over like, small insignificant things but will try n correct it in order to fele more masc
like the way he stands (started putting his hands in his pockets and yes doing the dick grab), how he writes (purposefully writes fast so its more scribbly n messy), how he takes off his shirt (pulling it up from the back of his neck) and other random things that do not rly matter
also type of guy to try out multiple diy binding methods bc theres no way his adoptive parents r buying him one (they probably dont even know hes trans tbh) and he definitely wont ask so instead he resorts to other (probably unsafe) methods
hates when his hair gets even a little too long bc not only does it make him dysphoric but he also hates the feeling of hair in his face or down his neck n shoulders
if he goes too long without a haircut he will just end up putting it up but he learns how to rock the ponytail (without feeling dysphoric too 👍)
also he is ace,,,, bc im ace and i want him to be i have no explanation for this one idc if it doesn't make sense he's ace in my heart
constantly has his earbuds in, likes to be constantly be blasting music and has a hard time working without it (he needs the constant stimulation)
loves to chew on things as a form of stimming
straws ? bottle caps ? pens ? destroyed
loves to eat ice as well (this one is more encouraged bc he wont be accidentally consuming plastic this way)
if he cannot find anything to chew on sometimes he just ends up biting his lips n the inside of his cheeks and he has sharp teeth so his mouth is just kinda messed up
secretly rly likes legos
he will spend hours just building bc he will get fixated on it now he has to finish it
also he is a batman fan but he is NOT a comic dudebro joker stan ok
he loves collecting things he deems sentimental
like a ticket stub from when the choir went to see a movie together ? keeping it. a random pretty rock someone found and gave to him ? keeping it
keeps all of them in a little box in his room
ok this was longer than i intended so im stopping it here for now ! ill will probably post some about the whole choir i just had a lot of mischa ones bc projection 🫶

targ stans are a bizarre breed of fans. like i get having problematic faves. majority of us have them.
one would argue loki that tumblr once obsessed over is a problematic fave but targ stans mostly see no wrong in their favorites. from not seeing the characters for what they are (i would enumerate but it's a long list) to just cyber bully real life people who don't like targs in general. it feels cultish.
I’m not involved in the Marvel fandom, so I don’t know how they treat Loki, but when I saw fans saying, not just after GoT 8x05, not just after the finale, but even now, “Dany did nothing wrong” and “I stand with Dany” or in other words, “let the children burn” --it does strike me as, uh, worrisome? And then for those same people to harass, threaten, hack, dox etc other fans...well, yes, it does make them seem extreme!
My impression of the Marvel movies was that they weren’t particularly consistent with their framing of things. Civilians were only dying when buildings collapsed when the writers decided they did, before that, it was largely a consequence-free story for the heroes. That’s something other comic book stories picked up on and ran with, and Marvel started writing differently at some point. GoT, even as it veered away from ASOIAF, still had some morals it loosely operated with, the discussion of civilian casualties and injustice was not simply presented somewhere in the story, but specifically presented as a criticism of Dany by other characters from s1 on which meant we had some in-world red flags and guidelines that the fandom chose to dismiss. And even in the gear up to the finale, we had even more thrown on the table, but they fandom still insisted on ignoring her threats about leveling a city, burning POWs alive, destroying the food that would see people through the winter...So many things in the story that indicated Dany was on the “bad guy” (not charming rogue) end of the spectrum. While fans used every misstep of certain characters to condemn them, they refused to apply the show’s own rules/standards to her.
So, it isn’t that they love Dany while knowing what she was/what she was doing (which was how people I know talked about Loki), but that they, like a cult of personality, changed the rules to be as she dictated, rather than holding her to any standard. It was particularly gruesome because they wanted other characters killed for “justice” (anyone they believed wronged Dany) and truly don’t seem to think any of the civilians in KL deserved the same. It’s a shame that ASOIAF was adapted into a story that brainwashed people into thinking that murdering anyone who didn’t welcome their conqueror was reasonable.🤦🏻‍♀️
The ASOIAF / GoT fandom seem pretty inclined to create and revere BNFs, I’m guessing because of the absence of new canon content? They’re ravenous for new ideas? Which allowed this problem of a thought leader + lemmings, so then you not only have the love for the character, but the development of a “doctrine” and how you are (or are not) permitted to interpret things? I think that feeds into the Dany fandom extremism. When you lose the ability to question your opinion, to change your mind, that’s where the problem is born.
To prevent that kind of weirdness, it’s good to remember that Martin hasn’t written what happens next yet. We know King Bran and R+L=J, we know about Shireen and Hodor’s deaths (kinda), the fandom overall accepts Dany burning KL, but we know precious little else. Much of what we argue over is locked away in Martin’s mind and he has mentioned that what he intended to do is evolving as he writes. Good! That means the characters and story are still alive for him, speaking to him, wonderful! But it means for us as a fandom, we must remain open-minded. Reject the notions that go against everything the man has written (mass murder is ok when Dany does it etc), but stay alive, allow your thoughts to evolve along with the growth of the characters and their story. Consider new ways of interpreting things. I’ve said in the past that the best part of the Jonsa fandom was that as long as there was a general agreement about certain themes and characters, there was a lot of space created for good faith disagreements about interpretations of certain passages / foreshadowing / spec. It makes the fandom fun, it allows new insights, it prevents the weird cult stuff.
All that being said, I have seen clips of Aemond from HOTD, so I understand the appeal of problematic favs. That kid wears evil well. 😂

Sorry for if this comes off as me being impatient but-
WHERE’S HAZBIN HOTEL?!
Tumblr media
May has now almost ended, and most, if not all shows and movies, get ads literal 3+ months before release, while all Hazbin has gotten so far is a brief cameo in a random magazine that wasn’t even about it!
It’s just been “that one show from the creepy lady” or “that one show with the annoying spider” from people outside the fandom because of just how poorly advertised Hazbin Hotel has been in comparison to every other show from Bento or A24! While in the fandom, people are even being driven away by the behavior of the HB stans, have gotten bored of waiting or stressed out by Helluva Boss’s quality to the point of leaving-
-and the advertising, which has just been gifs that are only IN the depleting fandom and not anywhere outside of the fandom where it would actually be profitable, seeing how much Helluva Boss’s views are dying out by the millions and have been so since the first episode back in 2019 this doesn’t feel like a good sign at all for Hazbin Hotel’s future!
Like- at all?! No advertising outside the fandom from the creators themselves, only advertised in a ad that doesn’t even mention it by name outside of outdated information that should have already been updated by now, A24 website’s featuring Hazbin Hotel was a whole year late, the original hazbin website and comics are now lost content and can only be viewed in archives on other websites, Charlie’s comic is complete lost content since it was never finished because of more drama, the creators continue to face document after document, major drama after drama due to their own actions- almost every month now! -and Vivziepop stays quiet and hides behind her rabid stanbase instead of doing anything to calm the situation, so you could imagine how that is effecting Hazbin’s release!
DEAR GOD! This has turned out to be a under advertised drama filled disaster…
Hazbin Hotel… where are you?

took like three extra weeks but we finally finished cruel summer season 2 😭😭 literally no one cares about this show but hiding it under a cut for spoilers regardless
It was bad. Bad bad so bad. All the dialogue and pacing and story beats felt like we were accidentally just watching actual teenagers hang out and talk all summer and all the “we just learned THIS new thing” end of episode cliffhangers were weeeeeak sauce. It was SO boring
The first season took place over the course of three years but this literally took place all in one year. Not the worst but I don’t think it did them any favors, and the timelines collapsing in on themselves in the end was weird
There were so many extra characters that could’ve been cut and nothing lost. No one in their friend group outside of Megan, Isabella, Boy, and Brother did a damn thing. That poor kid with the camera. Sorry but he just felt like an afterthought. And literally no one else did anything. Same with Megan’s sister that was only in like three episodes. Just get rid of them all who cares
Obviously we were on Isabella’s side the whole time. Megan was awful to her, constantly switching between “ride or die” and then finding any excuse to get pissed off at her. And what even was that situation? Like Isabella just staying with a random family for the whole summer AND a senior year of high school. Idk it was weird
But anyway that big twist reveal was so fucking funnyyyy it was the only joy we felt watching. But they didn’t even do it right bc the scene on the plane should’ve been the finale scene, obvi
And the big confrontation with Luke at the end was so comical. Megan being like “so you slept with both of us and lied and talked about it to your friends???” Like yeah saying it all together like that really emphasizes how nothing happened at all this season lmao
And then Isabella suddenly being CrAzY at the end was like… ok. So she’s crazy. I still support her ♥️
I was also scared they were gonna pull the last minute wlw thing like they did with Kate and Mallory and I was dreading it. Megan could never deserve Isabelle. Thankfully the exact opposite happened so there was also peace in that
So much of that last ep felt like a horror movie like we were waiting for Jason to pop out of the lake or something 🛶
Ummm what else? Nothing. There’s nothing to talk about. S1 was at least pretty fun but this season was a choreeee to get through
Stan Kate and Isabella that’s all I have to say
But obviously no disrespect to any of the actors lol Sadie Stanley was giving too good a performance in some spots for how nothing this show was 🧑🏼‍💻

Reminder that Peggy Carter sucks in both the movies/extended universe and comics, but for two different reasons. It is pointed out many times that movie/show version is based on comic book Nazi double agent Cynthia Glass, so much that they casted Haylee Atwell to look like her, and she's a British government agent. Nuff said.
Comic book Peggy is if you had Scarlett O'Hara but blond working in the French resistence with all the values dissonance that creates. Comic Peggy is a descendent of Virginian plantation slave owners (her being British in movie is an invention to bypass this uncomfortable fact while ignoring the complacency of British Imperialism and it's human rights violations) and in comics her and Sharon live that "genteel, romantic antebellum" inspired upbringing of exploited wealth and it's never explored in any way than as set dressing to these white writers because they think this archetye is 'murica girlboss and thematically contrasts Steve's northerner immigrant background, see. Comic Peggy married Howling Commando Gabe Jones who is black and nothing of her past is addressed about this legacy and then she gets alzheimers and thinks she's still with Steve causing a rift in her marriage and with Steve and Sharon's already weird relationship because before this development by later writers, it was never Stan Lee's intention that Steve dated both Peggy and Sharon who were originally sisters not aunt and niece and then great-aunt and great-niece as time passed from whenever Steve was thawed. Then Peggy dies of old age as the waste of space she was (liberating those poor French notwithstanding) and we still stuck with Sharon the S H.I.E.L.D. cop who shot Steve, but oh it's ok, see she was brainwashed, see. I hate the Carter's and knowing Marvel has no balls to make Bucky, Sam or Jack Moneoe his bf, if I wanted Steve with a woman, I'd rather it be with Bernie Rosenthal who he met sometime after being thawed and almost married before Sharon undied herself or Betty Ross who Peggy replaced in Canon as his war love interest because oops Stan Lee named Hulk's girlfriend that and we can't have both around…
Also another petty note: I didn't hate Haylee Atwell's Peggy initially, but after watching her play a slave owner who loses a fraction of her power marrying a man who inherits her property and has an affair with her once 'favorite slave' she abuses throughout, in the British series called The Long Song, I cannot unsee these two characters played by the same actress as the two sides of the white supremacist girlboss coin.

why do I feel like the only people who care and have been worrying about Bucky's future in the mcu, is us stucky stans? why can't every other bucky Stan side with us? if you're a bucky Stan and you want to keep on seeing him in the mcu then i just don't get you, the moment they took Steve away from him, that was the moment they killed the character
Oh boy, this is a tricky one. I definitely understand your feelings and to a large extent I feel the same way, as you know. But objectively, I do also get why there are Bucky stans who are still excited and who don't necessarily think it's all going downhill for him, and I don't think it would be fair to automatically call those people bad Bucky stans. I may not understand or agree with their opinions, but I do want to respect them, because at the end of the day, Bucky is a fictional character. Which means that to a certain extent, he's open to interpretation, and different people will approach him and view him in different ways, and as long as those people don't try tell others that their views are wrong or bad, that's ok.
But yeah, I personally only know MCU Bucky, so that's pretty much all the context I have for him. But there are plenty of people who are also into the comics, for instance, and who know and love different storylines for Bucky that aren't part of the MCU, so for them it probably feels less black and white than it does for us. And some people are just better at compartmentalising than I am, I think 😅
I also am a Stucky shipper first and foremost (more than I'm a marvel enthousiast, I mean) so obviously what happened to Steve, and to Steve and Bucky's relationship, majorly influences my opinion of Bucky's character development (that's not to say that I don't also think they screwed up other things about his character development, but still). Similarly, I'm steeped in fanon (fics and headcanons and meta etc.) and I much prefer the way fandom handles these characters to the way they've been treated in the movies and shows, but I can imagine why people who don't read much fic or who move in fandom circles where different opinions on these characters are prevalent might view Bucky in a different way to how we view him. They may well still really love Bucky, but just a slightly different Bucky, I guess?
Also, I've personally never been much of a marvel fan, and after EG and other developments I actively dislike it, but there are lots of people who genuinely love marvel and get really excited about new movies and shows. So I imagine that for them, generally speaking all new content is good content? And unless it's bigoted dudebros or people like that, I can't begrudge them their excitement. We all need things that bring us joy. But for myself and for people like you who feel the same way I do, I absolutely wish that they'd just leave Bucky alone already. He deserves so much better, but since they're never going to give him that in my opinion, I wish they'd just let him be.

The DC movies really screwed the pooch trying to ape Marvel's model so hard. DC's more minor characters have survived on the charm of the interactions of their small cast and bizarre history. If they wanted to do the JSA, a group of elderly people nobody cares about (I say this as a JSA stan), they should have leaned into what makes the JSA unique, AKA the WW2 foundations, with a Liberty Files kind of story rather than just throw them to the wolves of cinema as another Avengers knockoff. Like, the DC story formula has been distilled down to a science by this point in time--weird guy lives life as a weird guy doing good with his thematic supporting cast. It's a formula so perfectly suited to one-shot or self-contained films that I can't understand why they fucked themselves over trying to force a square peg into a round hole.
Hell, they could have been successful if they had actually copied Marvel and built up a solid stable of successful solo films, proving they can sell characters who are weird or offbeat without major brand recognition backing them up (so, somebody other than Superman or Batman) and they just...never did that. They did a few successful solo movies that were specifically not compatible with a larger universe (Nolan Batfilms), several more adaptable solo movies that were outright flops (Green Lantern) and then went "ok good enough" and rushed into making a team movie full of people nobody gave a shit about.
They had such a good setup! You could get so many movies out of weird DC semi-legacy heroes with insanely limited gimmicks that map well to teen drama or coming of age or spy movie or fucking anything. DC is a bizarre playground. They were bleeding potential. And instead they just...fuckin'...yikes. To all of it.
I've read hundreds of issues of JSA, JLA, Legion of Superheroes--I have read dozens of issues of utter 90s garbage (not DC but I read the original Deadpool mini, man!) or 70s Hostess advertisement comics and I've seen one DCEU movie. I've only cared enough to see one DCEU movie. I am so ready to eat up raw shit and DC couldn't even give me raw shit.

Very controversial opinion because I know how some people feel about the Russo brothers:
Their films outside their big four marvel films : TWS, civil war, infinity war, and endgame - some are questionable. I watched cherry and I was like….are these even the same guys who did those other movies???
But. One thing I really believe, and you mentioned here before:
The Russo brothers can pull an amazing performance out of Chris E. He is their muse and they are his. it’s clear to ME that he is very probably their favorite. Even during TGM you could 1000% tell the Russos lived for Lloyd. They knew it was a six franchise so Lloyd was one and done but if they could they would have had Chris as six. And we know this.
They were able to pull something out of him rarely other directors besides bong joon ho, rian Johnson, and Danny Boyle were able to. I’m actually going to add David Yates to this because I’m still convinced Pete Brenner in PH was one of his most poignant performances of recent memory. He was underused but David got something out of him. I disagree with critics.
Anyways - back to Russos. They got Steve and Lloyd out of him. I know people poo poo the action comic book stuff because it’s not awards worthy or Martin Scorsese and Leo but seriously?
Are yall CE fans or Leo fans?
I really think people ought to start looking at the actor they Stan/fan and stop wanting to put him in a book with another actor.
Nobody knows if and or what he will do next. But I do think it’s a good sign that the Russos were able to repeatedly direct Chris into a version of himself that’s not only memorable, but iconic.
That’s why I’m totally ok if for some reason in the future, he does end up working with the Russos again.
Super super bold statement: you can call me delusional all you want but if there were a pair of directors that could actually pull an Oscar worthy performance out of CE, it would be Joe and Anthony Russo. I’m serious.
TBC, Im not saying the Russos are ever going to make any awards worthy content nor that they’ll work with Chris again or that Chris wants to do that or anything. I’m just saying, their connection is unique and mutually beneficial/special.
We do not know if Chris’ dinner with the Russos will result in a project. We don’t know what was discussed, or why they met. They are friends. But let’s assume it was work related. The next project they’re casting for isn’t even action. Let’s not forget the work the Russos did on Community. They can do some great work. I just feel in recent years they became all flash and no substance. So that Amazon project isn’t pure action. it is about cryptocurrency.
I was talking to someone this morning on discord about the whole damn comparison thing, it’s tired and old. Sebastian and Chris get compared all the time because Steve and Bucky. Sebastian clearly wants to be a critical darling. He takes risks and makes award baiting movies. That is what HE wants with HIS career. Chris wants to make more popcorn flicks. Do not come at me. There is nothing wrong with that. It is HIS career, and that is what HE wants. It’s like comparing Brad Pitt to Tom Cruise. Does Tom still have a great career? Does he make popcorn flicks? Has he pretty much stuck to popcorn flicks with some random critically praised movies? Yes. Now look at Brad’s career, early on Brad was making award baiting movies. Legends of the Fall, Seven Years In Tibet, A River Runs Through it. And he has continued to do that. But does that make either actor better or worse than the other? No, it doesn’t. Do they still have careers to this day? Yes, they do. So can we squash comparing actors to actors? Instead compare Chris work to his other work?
I get a bit annoyed that Chris continues to work with the same people all the time, but doesn’t Leo work with Scorsese all the time? I just hope whatever his next project is something he is passionate about. I hope he enjoys the time he has on set, and the people he’s working with. And I’ve got my fingers crossed for something, and I hope that the rumbles and mumbling as I’m hearing about February are true. So let’s see.

Star wars ask: 10, 11, 12 & 18
From this Star Wars ask game
10. Do I think the Jedi were wrong? Ok I didn’t write the questions and this is a little vague so I’m just going to make a guess but if your wondering about something else feel free to ask.
In regards to attachments? No. I think that it completely makes sense that as an organization dedicated to the widespread greater good that it’s guardians shouldn’t hold relationships that they put above all else. Do I want to see fics that explore what would happen if that was different, especially for Obi-Wan and Anakin and their various potential relationship’s specifically? Yes.
11. Most underrated Star Wars character: in this house we stan Bail Organa. I feel like he and Breha do not get enough recognition for everything they’ve done to fight the empire every step of the way.
12. Do I care who Rey’s parents are? I would say no, except that I think Palpatine is the the worst fucking answer possible
18. Favorite Star Wars book or comic: I know this isn’t anything special to say, but reading Stover’s RotS novelization when it came out in 2005 changed me. I was young and impressionable and it was beautiful and poetic and dark and moving and I couldn’t get over it. For a very long time (esp. before the Kenobi series and Andor) it was the one thing I could point to and be like this! This is what Star Wars is to me! It’s everything that the movies were and are in my head (and unfortunately fall short of) and packs all the emotion that belongs there.
I love a lot of books, but I grew up on the Jedi Apprentice series and they are the entire foundation of my understanding of Obi-Wan as a character.

Jews In Media
This is a common topic, but would I be a Jewish blog if I didn't talk about it?
Y'know who my favourite Jewish Character in T.V./Movies/Comics (that I have consumed, at least) is?
Schmidt from New Girl. (well Winston Schmidt, but his first name is never used, so... meh).
Do I like the character? Meh, going towards "no".
But is that character the most Jewish Character I have ever seen? Yes.
Unlike practically every single other Jew in media, he is always Jewish. He breaks out yiddishiscms, he makes fun (lightly) of his goyische friends.
There is hardly a single episode from the show where it isn't obvious he's Jewish. And that is wonderful.
Contrast that with 90% of your other Jewish characters: Kitty Pride, Ben Grimm, Monica and Ross Geller, Jake Paralta, Karen Page, Annie Edison and a tonne of others.
Where they only bring up that the character is Jewish at Christmas. Or make a brief remark about a bar or bat mitzvah.
And there is no other hint of the character being Jewish at all, for the entire run.
If that is all you are going to do, if you cannot even be bothered for their to be a refrence to any of the actually important holidays, why have them be Jewish?
Then there are the ones that are 'confirmed Jewish' by a flashback to breaking a glass at a wedding. Ok. Fine. That was just Peter Parker in "Spiderverse" but that annoyed me sooo much. What was the point? He was made by Stan Lee, if the character needed to be Jewish, it would have happened in the 50 + years of comics, tv, and movies beforehand.
(and I am not even going to touch the cluster fuck of the Harley Quinn series)
We don't need representation that is that lazy.
And though I speak only for myself (well, I know my family agrees with me), I'd rather have 0 jews in media than that nonesense.

Top 5 Batman portrayals? 👁️🫦👁️💕
OOOO OK OK
So Misha said they don’t have to be live action portrayals so there’s a mix in here! This was also SUPER HARD TO CHOOSE so for the record these aren’t so much ranked as they are a nebulous cloud of a top 5
Kevin Conroy in B:TAS/TNBA/JL. This was probably pretty predictable. Come on. He’s first voice I hear in my head while thinking about Batman (a close second tho actually is something like his voice in Arkham Origins and the Hush movie! Idk their actors tho) and he played one of if not the most important Batman portrayals ever. To get NUANCED about this briefly, I do have issues with the DCAU’s later writing for Bruce, namely how everything about him seems to get so grimdark and edgy compared to his warmth and gentleness in B:TAS BUT how and ever SO. Kevin Conroy king forever 👑
Robert Pattinson in The Batman. You know I love me my Rpatz. I can absolutely understand why he might not be someone’s favourite, especially if they’re a fan of the classic depiction of Bruce, but what I really love about him (and this extends to Riddler too!) is that despite being different in some ways on the surface, all his traits ultimately come from the same core character and experience as depictions that feature more galas, swimwear models and ski trips in the Alps Brucie Waynes. He’s both a very grounded depiction of a deeply troubled man yet he toes the line between the “realism” of ‘verses like the Nolanverse and more camp superhero stuff so well and he has so much potential for his sequel, as well as of course giving us the chance to see him be a detective!! Finally!! To mention Robert himself then, he did such an amazing job playing Bruce. I love Robert Pattinson, I really do, I seek out movies with him in them, and still every time I see him in a movie, Rob completely melts away and it’s just… the character. There truly are few actors I can say that about, but I feel it so strongly for him, and his Batman portrayal was no different. (Also autidm bruce yuh). I also love his dynamic with Jim, Rob and Jeffrey are so good together.
Bruce in Batman: The Imposter. A non-actor one on here! Admittedly I don’t read as many comics as I’d like, but Batman: The Imposter was one I had to buy in May after seeing The Batman and having it recommended to me. For a lot of the same reasons I like The Batman 2022 Bruce, I like B:TI Bruce. I find with him that there’s such a… a softness to him. When he’s Bruce, there’s such a quietness, almost a meekness to him. He really reads as very pained but still somehow managing to find a kindness in his heart, even when he’s so isolated from the world. I also think it’s interesting — if slightly concerning — that Alfred is pretty much gone from Bruce’s life. A while after Bruce comes into Alfred’s care as a child, Alfred can’t handle him anymore, sends him off to boarding school, and dips from the Wayne family completely. Absolute worst Alfred I’ve ever seen, we do not stan. BUT my point is that, while I feel like there’s a chance the author wrote Bruce to be alone for the sake of cliche lone wolf edgelord, it just makes his shy nature outside of the Batman suit stand out to me more. Even so alone, he hasn’t lost hope. And. The page where he’s talking about his effect on Gotham, and he sheds a tear from under the cowl. Yeah. Yeah it got to me. Also! He’s the closest we have to a canonically autistic Bruce!
David Mazouz in Gotham. Okay. Okay. Gotham is not well-written, nor do I like the fact that Bruce plays a part in the show at all, I don’t like him being on a path to Batman from the moment his parents die. HOWEVER. I think David is a fantastic depiction of a young, struggling to grieve, anger-filled, doesn’t-want-to-feel-powerless Bruce. He’s a kid trying to understand himself and the world that’s been turned upside down on him, and David portrays a great balance of innocence and blooming maturity. Also, the older he gets, the more he looks like a perfect Bruce I swear to god. Even if I don’t like Bruce’s role in the show, I always thought David Mazouz was a great fit.
Bruce in The Batman 2004 cartoon. This one’s just fun. They don’t really touch on the darker aspects of him and they don’t mention his parents much at all (they don’t pretend they never died, but they’re very *very* vague and rare about their mentions of them) but I just think he’s really fun. He’s young and energetic but he’s not a party animal, and I think he’s interesting as a,, surprisingly stable Bruce. He also doesn’t have as much separation between Batman —> Bruce and Bruce —> Brucie as other depictions which I think is interesting! He feels very genuine and always like himself, but they’re also not afraid to show him being self-destructive or neglecting his needs for his work.
BONUS MENTION BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS: Ben Affleck in the DCEU. Okay okay OKAY I do not like the DCEU. I really don’t, and I think Bruce is grievously miswritten (???) in BvS. But. Ben deserved better. I can very easily see him as Bruce. I think he makes a very good older Bruce, AND he was great in the party scene in BvS where he meets Clark and they butt heads. Same as with Henry Cavill, they deserved to play better written versions of their characters.

Ok so, I know you're not the biggest fan of Ethan, and from what I can tell it's mainly stemmed from Rogue Nation and Fallout (mainly fallout, but if I'm wrong forgive me, I'd love to read more about your opinions they're really interesting).
What was first thing that made you dislike him, and do you have any thoughts on what Tom and McQ could (but won't) do to redeem Ethan in your eyes? What they could do to redeem anything that they've messed up in the movies they made?
(No problem f you don't care just thought it would be a good discussion)
wow that's a real question here 😳
and before I'll tell more about my dislike to ethan i must notice, what when i just came in this fandom two years and one month ago i loved ethan. i was a benthan stan, i made content with them (fics and art), and it was fun!
i was a 18 years old liberal girl with no idea how world is really working, i was much healthier mentally than now and my life was much easier. i had no need in everything — and i had no need to change my mind in such questions as "why countries can't be just friends so people like me would never die in different conflicts and wars". i can't say is that ignorance a bad or normal thing, it's up to you to decide, but I'm thinking all the people don't mind such things before it's touching them. we have too much other problems to think that globally while everything else is okay, but when it's bad you want to know why.
but I'm going too fast. even if my life was okay in 2020 i always had this... unifying theme in my art and other mind activities. it's inner potential. i always thought and still think what i'm nothing. i don't bring anything new or good in this world, so every character who became my blorbo got from me this inner conflict about this "changing the world" stuff — and yet me myself is not in my villain arc, all my blorbos are intended in good deeds as well (i like to think what i'm a good person, you know,,,). benji, whom i kinn A LOT, had this potential. he really is a guy who just wants everyone to be okay, he cares and tries his best, but he's not perfect as ethan and has some common sense. when i came in m:i fandom i knew what most of franchise audience sees benji as a comic relief while he's not worse than ethan, even more interesting sometimes — and much closer to a viewer because he makes mistakes. actually, benji is a viewer in some way, he helps to make movies more real and touching
i was... offended by it. i wanted benji to be in focus as he deserved, so i started to think: what did go wrong? my first thought was his conflict with solomon, what could be the best part of fallout and a great boost for this boring monotonous garbage, but in fact we had one dialog line between them and one unrealistic (but still stressful, not gonna lie) fight in the end. i wanted more. more tense between them, more of benji's trauma. i didn't ship them yet but i felt what this bond between them is more real and catching than between lane and ethan. why? because now i see what mc and cruise had no idea how to write a real fighter with a system. they make solomon a casual terrorist, what is a disappointment, because all his conflict with ethan now sucks as well. mccruises tried to make one type of an antagonist, but if you understand at least something in world-system theory (as real system fighter SHOULD understand) you would see what lane's deeds in rn do literally nothing to bring any changes. you could see more my thoughts about it in my recent fic "on the sleeve".
so, i started to think about benji and solomon and their conflict more, putting ethan on a background. i still liked him, but started to see that lanedunn dynamic what turned into other my fic i never finished (insp by the inheritance with simon)
and then, at summer of 2021 me and my bestie grisha came up with idea what trembled me a lot: after solomon the best antagonist for ethan would be benji. it started from benji's love to ethan, what benji was tired of government and how they treated everyone — and especially ethan. but, thinking about this consent we realized why this works and doesn't work in the same time
this was the moment when i saw the most huge ethan's problem. he never changes.
me and grisha understood what benji's side is logically right. what agencies like cia make things much worse than people they fight with, and while ethan is on their side he's wrong (i met grisha thanks to the show "person of interest what has that m:i vibes but much much cooler and it talks on such themes as government crimes, check this out!). so we had a problem: or on our story benji looses what is a bad end, or ethan dies or something — but never changes his side because he can't to this. i talked about how he never changes and i'm too tired to write it again on english, а на русском вы читать не будете.
that was solomon's time. we started our syndicate au, but with shipping benji and lane we needed to work on syndicate as an entity. we took the idea what mccruises wanted to put in it and made it real, so a bunch of terrorists became a solid organization what has a goal to bring a real revolution in this world
i started my way as a communist. my life was getting worse as well and i saw how capitalism is dangerous for the most of the people. i was thinking about it, but after 24 of february it became clear as a day for me
how is this connected to ethan? well, it's harder to say how it's not
tom cruise is a billionaire producer, and every single idea in mission impossible comes through his point of view: point of view of a white rich american man. he's connect with usa government just like his character ethan, but while hunt runs over the globe and fights with bad guys tom cruise uses his money and influence to make such movies like m:i and top gun which whole idea is simple: usa always wins. usa are good guys. usa sending their agents into other countries without any permission because usa knows what's right and what's wrong, like it was in iran, vientam, syria and other countries. usa has the best airborne, the best army and technology. i can tell this for a long time, but it's not necessary — all of you saw this in hundreds of movies. all i said is not a secret
and ethan is an embodiment of this capitalistic system. perfect american man who never lose. ethan always knows best, whatever his friends say, he can find a way in every situation, can beat a guy who's smarter than him with no reason and explanation, can return to life even after deadly experience
and since i realized this i hate ethan. he's not even a character — he's a system itself. the system i'm against of. i have no respect for him, because he has no value as just a character. he is a mary (marty?) sue made for one reason: make you believe what usa is good and cool one. for 6 films cruise didn't gave ethan nothing more than some epic scenes. no personality, no growth. and if tom cruise doesn't see ethan as a character — why should i?

stan ky fav books^^
oh my god *bebe stevens vc* eeeeee!~ <3 ok ok ok
kyle definitely says his favorite book is like...war and peace, finnegan's wake or infinite jest.
like he definitely says his favorite book is the most complex, difficult, pretentious, mile long, impossible to decipher relic just to be an asshole and....just to throw people off...
because kyle's favorite book is totally 100% pride and prejudice.
this is just...argue with your mom. this is canon. a jane austen king.
i just know he has a he either stole from the library or got from the second hand store...and it's all worn and battered and as old as the hills and practically falling apart...but kyle looooves that thing. he definitely writes so much in the margins, i imagine takes it into cafes, drinking his matcha latte and eating a little sandwich, listening to the delulu playlist thorugh his handphones softly, ugly glasses, pupils blown.
he knows that 2005 version of p&p up, down, all around, backwards, forwards, in his sleep! it is written in his bones, bro. "you have bewitched me, body and soul," like he knows that whole thing by heart, can quote several parts of that movie verbatim...he watches it so often when he gets sad...believe it or not stop the presses, he does cry.
do i think stan planned some sort of jane austen themed date when he finds out or learn the monologue to propose one day...i don't wanna talk abt it leave me alooooone
anyways! i'm not even gonna say bold of you to assume stan reads...because he totally fucked up the percy jackson series!
i feel like he was like man books are so boring and weird i hate this but i need to read one for class ( maybe like middle school beginning of high school ) and kyle is like...you should read this i think ur gonna like it. and stan is like mmmm idk what the fuck kind of a name is percy jackson, he seems like a tool...and kyle is like...ur name is stan marsh...and hes like damn alright ok fair point that hurt...and kyles like they fight monsters in it and hes like OK SOLD.
gets like...totally obsessed with it, aw!!!!! hes like kyle kyle kyle he has adhd just like me aaaaaaa!!! percy jackson is...just stan like oh my god. dark hair, tan, athletic, so beautiful, loves water, daddy issues, hero boy, savior complex, funny, golden retriever bf, has an obsession w a certain color ( kyle kyle kyle percy jacksons color is ur favorite color!!! ) when stan like obssesively eats kyle broflovski green foods like vegetables smh, so much green clothing, pillow cases...also has kyle pile green eyes ( that made stan really excited shdlksh )
also obsessively shipped percabeth which is hilarious bc annabeth is agressively kyle-coded help ( stan was like wendy!!! but annabeth is like percys best friend literally so...he has a lot to think abt later ) kyle read the whole thing like in three seconds flat and its a lot for stan but hes actually so stoked on it that he stays up so late sometimes reading it and knows more abt it than kyle eventually aw
bitch i just knooooooooooow when annabeth fell down into tartarus stan called kyle like heaving sobbing ugly crying like THIS IS SO EVIL THIS IS SO FUCKED UP I DONT THINK I CAN GO TO SCHOOL TODAY IM SO SAD I WANNA WALLOW THIS IS SO SICK KYLE!!!
often like ok here me out what if randy isnt my real dad ik i look like him whatever maybe its a coincidence what if im a demigod pls
if he met rick riordan in real life he would throw up from nervousness and then pass out from excitement
he also gives me...boy who was obsessed w the outsiders in middle school energy and...unfortunately...catcher in the rye boy energy...
they also def are nerdy af lotr boys ( no stan did not read it, but he fucks heavy w the movie...which fruity ),
( ok speaking of nerdy things that arent necessarily book related they are also star wars star trek boys can stan and kyle communicate in klingon...yes...),
do comic books count ( jk they totally do!!! ) bc stan and kyle regularly have marvel vs dc fights and in pep 2 or m.m. or what have you stan's part time job is working at the record store and kyle's is the comic store next door because...thats edgy boy nerdy boy realness...they time their breaks to swap stories...and chapstick...slay olay <3
