TW Just Incase there’s some folks who are triggered by nail biting and chewing nails and etc. It’s kinda niche, but I don’t want anyone to be uncomfortable.

Anywho, I haven’t played enough DE to get to know Kim well at all, but I project onto him because he’s Japanese and wears cool jackets (HES JUST LIKE ME!!!) Anywho, I headcanon he has small hands and that he chews his nails and the skin on his fingers and that’s why he wears gloves. If there’s a canonical reason as to why he wears gloves IDC ILL FIND OUT LATER.

Still trying to figure out how to draw him because there’s so much cool art of him but only like three canon appearances of him and referencing is hard. I would usually apologize for posting about one character so much (usually Dr Strange) but in this case I think it’s fine because it’s Kim.

I know Merlin’s magic remaining secret from everyone and him being left without a support system was integral to the eventual tragedy of the show and the self-fulfilling prophecy of it all, but I still really wish we got magic reveals with every character and magical shenanigans. Lancelot was one of my favorite characters and we only get him for a few episodes. And Gwaine would have been an excellent partner in crime. And lets be honest, if Gwen knew? Tragedy averted. All of camelot’s braincells travel towards her like ants seeking sugar and everyone else has to root around in the dirt and hope they find one that has yet to make the journey to their one true home. I would have even settled for a little time-loop episode where everything gets reversed. There are so many ways to do a magic reveal! There was so much untapped comedic potential! Those scenes in the og charmed where Daryll doesn’t understand any of the witchy nonsense that’s happening? Hilarious! That scene in smallville where Lana questions Clark about all the mysteriously solved villain-of-the-week incidents while they’re driving? Also hilarious! It’s not that hard. The knights needed to figure out Merlin was Dragoon. Gwen and Arthur needed to realize they almost lost Merlin dozens of times. Mordred and Merlin could have been partners in crime and absolutely terrorize the shit out of everyone with mindspeak. Morgana also could have been “the antagonist” without losing her core character traits, but that’s a rant for another day? Where was I going with this?

Welcome Home Drawing Week Challenge - Day 4

WOOHOO POSTIN THIS ONE A BIT LATE

Day Four - OC Interaction

I was debating which of my OCs to use for this one, and eventually decided to do a small interaction between an OC I’ve never shown here before- Magic Marlin- and Frank Frankly. Frank seems to have it in his head that Magic Marlin and the neighborhood magician, The Great Fanccino, are the same people. Surely, he must be mistaken in his assumptions!

(Spoiler: He’s not.)

Frank decides to confront Marlin about his suspicions, and thus this conversation happens:

What a pair of wholesome lads. Frank sure must love being the only one in the neighborhood that truly believes his theory to be true, surely.

This was really fun to draw, sometimes I forget how much fun Frank’s shapes are to draw at times. When I first saw him I expected him to be very difficult to draw but honestly he’s one of my favorites (even if I don’t draw him often…) I also enjoyed drawing Marlin, I really need to finalize his and his magician disguise’s designs so I can draw his full page like I did with Peter and Pepper.

The bandages are just sitting there on the floor between them. She scowls, and grabs one. With fumbling fingers, she rips it open, then folds it over itself and applies it methodically to his scraped up knee, which is resting bent by her elbow.

Jamie does not try to stop her, and only watches silently for a moment. The bacta in the tissues must sting, and she can feel the sticky friction of congealing blood and marketplace grit under her ministrations. But she doesn’t stop, and he doesn’t ask her to. She can feel wet spots on her cheeks slowly dry.

Presently, his knee looks marginally less of a disaster.

“You really believe me?” Claire says finally, looking up from her makeshift tissues, browned and bloodied now.

She feels a bit like a Walker whose legs have been cut out from under it, struggling to find ground. Jamie’s exhale is as much a sigh of relief as it is the sort of aching, quiet empathy that is so hard to come by these days.

“Aye, Sassenach.”

“All of it?”

It’s not really a foolish demand -- question is too generous a word -- but Jamie raises one eyebrow, the corner of his mouth ticking again.

“Well,” he says, leaning in with the air of a conspirator. He flicks off his points on his fingers; at this proximity, Claire can feel his warmth even more acutely than before. “I already kent there was truth tae the Force, so that isnae much of a surprise. I dinna ken if ye know this, lass, but ye’ve a horrible sabaac face, so ye cannae be some sort of Imperial spy. I saw ye use the Force wi’ my own twa eyes -- which was kind’ve incredible, by the way -- so ye cannae be lyin’ about that ... all tha’ remains is whether or no’ the Jedi truly existed, an’ ye arenae jest some sort of deep space witch --”

“A deep space --”

“-- as Mrs. Crook used tae believe in. Our auld housekeeper,” he adds, at Claire’s undoubtedly baffled expression.

“What?” Claire manages, after a moment; he’s paused, that serious expression back in place. But his eyes are twinkling.

“I do believe you,” Jamie repeats, in a quiet, deliberate voice. “I do. Wi’ everythin’ in me. I trust ye, Claire.”
