Note
Another all might vs AFO rematch is so unnecessary and really shows that hori is doing whatever he thinks is "cool" for this final arc and throwing logic and writing out the window. This honestly brings down all mights character for me.
Anonymous asked: I guess quirkless deku could've been a hero, all he needed was an iron man suit apparently lmao. If all might holds AFO back for even a minute, it's going to make AFO look super weak and all the people who had quirks trying to stop him look even weaker. I mean hori built the whole story up as you need a quirk to do hero work and then he just gives all might a iron man suit out of nowhere just to have him fight again? Yeah that's bad writing.
I'll take these two asks together. Admittedly, I didn't read the EN fandom reactions to this chapter, bc I loved it and I didn't want to see the inevitable negativity, but I really don't get why people think this ruins anything.
The manga has spent almost 400 chapter at this point of deconstructing hero society, the Symbol of Peace and I think some things should be abundantly clear by now:
A strong quirk doesn't make a true hero (Bakugou's, Endeavor's arcs)
Saving someone is about reaching their hearts in time, not about beating them down
Quirks and personalities are connected, but the quirk is not the same as the individual (Shouto's arc)
You don't need a quirk to be someone's hero (every person who left little Tenko to wander the streets alone)
Skill, training, tech can all elevate a person beyond the strength of their quirks (Best Jeanist, Hawks' fight after he lost his wings, Hatsume matching the hero kids in the SF with tech, Detrenat, Knuckleduster in Vigilante, etc)
It was inevitable that we'd come back to this question:
Tumblr media
When All Might said in Chapter 1 that you need a quirk to be a hero, he was saying that bc at the time he truly believed that everything he was, was due to OFA.
He spent the entire time after losing OFA being "lost and wandering" (just like Shoto, btw) trying to figure out his own place. By trying to teach Deku, by becoming a better teacher to all the students he tried to find a sense of purpose, but basically he lost the ability to see himself as a hero. That's why he pulled back, offered no leadership even after the war, as things were completely falling apart.
It took watching Deku spiral as he tried to shoulder everything by himself and seeing Class A offering support to him that All Might started to doubt the path he was on. Because, seriously - Ojirou, a martial artist with a tail - Shoji - a guy with some extra arms - Mineta - with his sticky balls - all believe that they CAN support Deku, can be part of his fight.
While All Might, with his 4 decades of fighting experience, a huge amount of wealth, access to the world's best tech through personal connections can offer nothing?
It took talking with Stain to realize that there is an entire spectrum of doing nothing and doing everything by himself. And the ideal point is to do what he can.
Tumblr media
All Might stepping up has been on the cards since then. We knew he was planning something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, All Might has earned his retirement. He could be just a living relic of a glorious era. Obviously, even with tech, he's not going to have the godlike powers he did before.
But right now, the end is in sight. Everything is falling apart. He just sent two 16 year olds to run into the core of a ticking nuke on the blind faith they'll be able to do something about it, because it is the ONLY chance. One of his students had his heart explode. There are no heroes left.
All Might KNOWS, he knows better than anyone how dangerous prime!AFO is. But he also knows his personality, his buttons to push. He doesn't have to win, he just needs to delay, and he has a good hunch that AFO won't be able to ignore him. Whatever minutes, seconds he can buy can mean the difference between life or death, victory or defeat. So of course, he will try. Because that's who he is.
Remember - Deku in chapter 1 running into danger with a backpack got OFA because he reminded Toshinori of himself. Quirkless Deku stepping up, acting heroic despite his lack of power made All Might RECOGNIZE himself. Losing OFA never meant he lost his hero heart or instincts - he just lost faith in himself, because he bought into the hero society rhetoric. The scale of what he could do changed, but his heroism didn't.
Tumblr media
So that leads us to the last question - is there a place and need for heroes who are less than superman. If there is a Symbol who has the power to solve any crisis by himself, do you even need the lesser ones?
And I think the story has affirmed again and again that yes, people with little power can make a huge difference and heroism comes in many shapes and forms. Also, that no matter how powerful, nobody can get there alone. Everyone needs support. A strong net is more stable than a lone pillar. A person's value or ability to change things is not tied to their quirks.
All Might stepping up is the culmination of everything he learnt and is totally in character for him. Moreover, it's the natural narrative endpoint of everything that the series has been talking about.
He can't win, he'll probably needs someone to save his ass (maybe Stain, maybe Bakugou, possibly both), but he'll also tick away precious seconds from AFO's rewind time and make a difference.
And this is why I also expect Deku saving Shigaraki not be just beating him up with more OFA, but Deku being Izuku should be the decisive factor in it. And also, I personally think Deku losing OFA but learning that he can be a hero without it would be a good writing choice and a good endgame.
HK already drew Deku's quirks as support items - so I think it's not a stretch that he could be a tech-based hero.
Tumblr media
As someone who is a huge fan of tech-based heroes operating in the world of super-powers, it is my favourite endgame for Deku.

[cracks knuckles]
Okay, the bones of a decent episode were there inside Hybrid Creatures. They were. I saw them and I believe in them. Let's fix this shit.
(Hearts to @abc-mulan @yougoadedme @drowningparty @de-ciphered and anyone else I forgot who helped make this even better when I was rambling about it.)
First off: Nadja!
Nadja is not teaching the class, because she disappeared from the teaching plot into a completely different plot and that's a first draft problem. She should just meet Helen and start from there.
Here's a problem with Nadja this whole season: does this hex even exist? It's the motivation for everything she does, but we've never seen it do anything to impact her. Everything she cited as evidence of the hex were things she brought on herself last year, and nothing bad has happened to her specifically this year. I'd think it was something she made up/the Guide encouraged, but the Guide had infinitely regenerating props when they found that portrait, and she doesn't know anything about Antipaxos, so it'd be a lot for her to fake. The show should have made clear from episode 1 this season: either the hex is fake and being set up by the Guide/the doll/whoever else to teach Nadja a lesson, OR the hex is real and is visibly impacting Nadja the whole time.
So: Nadja meets Helen in Little Antipaxos. No one wants to talk about her and Nadja assumes it's because she's a super-powerful witch. Whatever stupid errands Helen has her do are a lot more fake-mystical and actually raise the question of whether she has powers.
Also, the Guide is actually there at some point! And either the Nadja-Helen parallels are clear from Nadja ignoring the Guide/taking her for granted, or the Guide is basically trying to tell Nadja that this lady is conning her because there is no curse, the Guide/the doll/whoever made the curse up, but Nadja isn't listening to her.
Helen is as difficult and demanding as Nadja can be on her worst days, and Helen also has a lot of Nadja's insecurities about being an outsider and not taken seriously. Let the twist be that Helen was previously banned/shunned at the diner, as the black sheep of that family or group of friends. Nadja ultimately gets Helen back into the diner and into everyone's good graces. Basically Nadja restores Helen in a way that actually matters and it's a much clearer parallel, from much earlier on, that she sees a lot of Helen in herself.
This will tie thematically into: Guillermo!
Guillermo's shitty little children are horrifying! I love-hate them! What the fuck is the point of them? Most people wanted them to die because they feel like gags, and if they talk then they should feel at least a little bit like characters, they come from Guillermo.
They should each represent a different piece of him. His loyalty, his determination, how he's a secret freak, it doesn't even all have to be appealing or a perfect Guillermo match - just let me see their personalities. Let Guillermo move from horror to getting attached to them by relating to them. The general theme should be something about surprising yourself/finding out new pieces of yourself.
Also the little rat thing should try and hump Nandor's leg.
When Guillermo gets rid of them by making them companion animals in a retirement home, there should be a gag about how now they're all emotional support creatures for cranky out-of-touch people, something something vampires. (Also, we do not need the fish. Let the animal that stays around be one of the frogs, you already made us all in love with the frogs last week, ffs.)
Finally: Colin and Nandor are actually pretty great a lot of the time, but it also needs a focus shift. Have Nandor puttering around the house aimlessly, missing Guillermo as usual. He trails Colin Robinson to his new job teaching night classes. He tries to take over the class to have someone to boss around, they do their at-odds things, maybe Nandor is trying to teach military history in general instead of just his home country because that seems a little on the nose?
Then you extend the museum scene, because goddamnit I want more Nandor lore, and maybe make it so Nadja and Laszlo's shit is in the museum too (since the three of them crossed together) but Nandor focuses on his own. Either way, Colin does what he does for Nandor, and the emotional payoff is that over the last two episodes, Nandor and Colin have started a legitimate friendship and Nandor doesn't have to feel as alone anymore.
(But it's not quite the same, of course, and at some point in the episode Nandor notices one of the Guillermo frogs with the hair or something - and comments that he must be losing it because he's seeing Guillermo all over the place.)
Also all the jokes needed a punch-up, some of them were amazing and some of them were just weak and whatever.
Tl;dr not every subplot in the shit and fart show needs to have meaning or progress the will-they-won't-they or whatever. But there should at least be a reason the characters are doing what they're doing, and a reason we the people watching should actually give a shit.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, and I hope post-strike everyone can have writers' rooms again where they can actually get to draft 3 or 4, and not make everyone watching the episode confused about what they just watched. The end!

Finally writing a post about this!!! Here's my ideas for a FutureAU for Sing
Note: by future, I just mean like a generation future, not like time travel future. (~20 years in the future)
So starting off, tw// for major character death, suicide
Almost all your faves are still alive thankfully. Also it does get incredibly angsty near the end, so have fun with that.
ALSO also, yes this does have shipping in it.
So first of all, this takes place like 20 years after the events of Sing 2 and the whole Redshore City incident. Buster Moon and Eddie Noodleman have finally retired. (Thank god no one has to put up with Buster's shenanigans anymore.) Also yes, they are finally a happy married couple, because of course they are.
Johnny is now the person who runs the theatre, with Buster kind of serving as his mentor, and his source of guidance whenever he needs help. The New Moon Theatre is now under Buster's name as opposed to Nana Noodleman's name. Why? You could probably guess. (She's dead). Oh yeah, you know who's also dead? Miss Crawly. They both had like super sad deaths, and died peacefully of age.
Oh yeah, there is also more death than this, but I'm saving that for the end.
I also honestly like to think Ryan took a dip in photography, so he also does that for the theatre. Go Ryan!
Anyways, Johnny runs the New Moon Theatre with the help of Nooshy and Ryan as well. Nooshy works as the choreographer, meanwhile Ryan is committed to being a malewife kinda acts as a new Miss Crawly + extra choreographer teacher if Nooshy is out. Johnny and Ryan definitely are together though by the way, and Nooshy teases them all the time for it still.
Oh yeah also in case it needed to be stated: yes, Johnny is stressed out all of the time (like usual), except also now he's constantly worried about his father and gang now. Despite their age and Johnny repeatedly offering to finance their retirement, they refuse to retire and continue running their mechanic business.
Buster and Eddie live in a new house, but Buster will occasionally convince Eddie to let him sleep nights at the theatre under the guise of "helping Johnny out for the day". Eddie does realize what Buster's try to pull, but let's him go with it because he knows it helps with his anxiety, since Buster can struggle to sleep sometimes without the familiar sounds of the theatre.
So where's Meena? Meena is currently on tour, much to the delight of her and her parents. She's a world renowned soul singer, and travels around with the husband Alfonso. Alfonso doesn't serve icecream anymore, but still cooks for them and acts as a handyman and stuff for Meena when they're on tour. They of course still make time to come back to the theatre every so often again, though.
Ash and Clay? Well, after the multiple reruns of Out of This Worlds, the two of them have been on tour for a years, before Ash decided to come back and crash at the theatre recently… without Clay. She always kinda reluctant to say what happened to Clay, with her story changing every time. First, it's that he got signed into a new record deal without her. Next thing you know, it's because he decided he wanted to go back to Redshore and focus on bettering himself mentally.
(By the way, Clay started therapy after the events of Redshore. Buster did too, thankfully).
In fact, this phantom has started haunting Clay only a few years after Ruby died. It just shows up randomly, serving as a grim reminder of who he's lost.
Okay so quick warning. Remember when I said it was gonna get angsty. Oh yeah, it's about time to get real angsty.
So basically, Clay killed himself a few years into touring with Ash. Let's just say therapy was not enough for the hell he was forced to go through mentally. Remember that ghost of Ruby during the performance of Out of This World? That's not new.
(That's why I'm calling this an AU, because this is less of a hc and more of a story idea)
Bonus: me writing down notes in my anatomy class ↓↓

Do you have any homelife headcanons regarding Trent?
yep!
trent's full name is trenton james smith — super basic white boy name, but he loves his last name because of the band.
he grew up upper middle class in a nice area with a dad who works as a successful accountant, who tries to push the same career onto trent.
his love from music stems from his mom. he was a pretty anxious kid and his mom would always calm him down by singing to him. he always told her she should be a singer, but trent's dad would make passive-agressive remarks about how that's a ridiculous dream.
trent was always closer with his mom and her dad (his grandpa) than he was with his dad's side of the family. his grandpa was retired and his mom was a housewife so they always had plenty of time to spare for trent, whereas his father was a workaholic who prioritized his career over his family.
which is why his grandfather's death hit him so hard. he always considered his grandpa to be his best friend alongside his mother, so losing him as a young kid was really tough.
a few years later when trent was about fourteen, his mother also passed away from an illness. trent spent all his time with her outside of school and made taking care of her his top priority, even when his grades suffered or when his mom encouraged him to go have fun with his friends.
trent began to hate his father during that time because he always spent more time at the office than he did with his dying wife, and he had a lot of fights with his dad after his mother's death that typically ended with them not talking for days.
although trent gets along well with all his peers at school, he doesn't exactly consider any of his friends to be very close to him. besides group hangouts, he typically spends his freetime alone practicing music or studying to keep his dad off his back.
he joined his school's guitar club for a few reasons. 1) because he's always wanted to learn, 2) to spite his dad, and 3) to keep him out of the house and away from his dad. he turned out to be a real natural, and with all the hardworking he poured into learning, he quickly became an expert.
he got a part-time job as a mechanic helper at one of his friend's dad's car shops, where he became interested in motorcycles. he eventually was able to save up and buy a used one from one of his regular customers.
due to his strange social circle, trent had never fallen in love before going on total drama. sure, he had crushes before, but they never really went anywhere. gwen was his first love, and his inexperienced was what led to his slightly obsessive mannerisms within their relationship during action.
although trent is still exceptionally embarrassed about all his embarrassing teenage moments being seen on live tv, he is thankful for total drama for showing him what genuine connects are like and for getting the drama brothers together.

Lavender Umbrellas Head canon
So here I am again with another one of my Head Canons for Lavender Umbrellas made by @lavender-long-stories
This time its not about a specific Character its about all sorts of Characters, This Head Canon is about which Naruto Characters would have which jobs as Faculty at the school.
To Start I think Hiruzen would be the Prinicpal and Danzo would be Vice Principal, Koharu and Homaru I think would be placed on the School board Onoki would be on it too i like him being on it because i don't know what he would do otherwise.
I see Iruka being the Math Teacher, Gai as Guidance Councillor just because i think he would try and inspire people with the Power Of Youth.
I thought of Orochimaru as the Science teacher i fear for the children in his classes.
Killer Bee would definitely be The Music Teacher as Gym Teacher i think it could be The Raikage A.
We already learn in the Story that Tsunade is the Nurse.
I though that maybe Shizune could be the schools receptionist and I just imagine Tonton being the Schools mascot.
Jiraiya i thought of as the English Teacher, I hope he doesn't tell his students when they move up grade that he hopes to see them again when they're 18 like he told Konan in Canon.
The Drama teacher i see as Yamato i like the idea of him building the sets, And i love the Idea that Kankuro would help in this class by making puppets for shows.
I like to think that Choza Akimichi, Choji's Dad is the Cook and Izumo and Kotestu are the ones who give the kids Lunch basically Lunch Ladies.
As the S*x Ed Teacher I though of Mei Terumi the Mizukage, i just find it a funny idea not really any reasoning.
As librarian I though of Sakura's Mom Mebuki.
The Art teacher i thought could be Chiyo, I had a hard time thinking of someone i would do Deidara but considering he's a student I couldn't maybe he takes over once Chiyo retires.
As History Teacher i don't know why but i like it being Kakashi.
As Janitor I though of Mizuki he gets what he deservers.
The Bus Driver i like the idea of it being Obito.
I know Hall monitor is something a students does but i would just like to think That Kabuto is a Hall monitor.
And last but not least i like the Idea of The Coach of the Football team being Asuma Sarutobi.
Thank you for listening to me Ramble on about my Head Canon, I hope you like the Characters as the things I put them as, If you would place a different Character as a particular Teacher or if any of the Characters on here you think would teach a different subject feel free to leave a comment 😁

Any Pokémon anime thoughts? Ik you haven’t watched all the series yet but I’d love to hear ur thoughts on what you think ash is up to since his anime series ended and idk general animeverse hcs. I remember you had an au abt ash opening a Pokémon sanctuary and I’d love to hear more abt it if you have more thoughts and ideas related to it
Btw what series have you watched or have knowledge abt outside of xy just for future ref bc I know u haven’t watched bw yet so I’ll hold off on my Burgundy rambling until you do so you can have some context.
Admittedly I have only watched a part of the very original series and a quarter of the XY series (Mainly because I've been watching Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal) So a lot of my knowledge of the series as whole is limited to what's fresh in my mind and whatever my brain death gripped from middle school. I'm working on it however! Honestly XY is your best bet to get convos about cause its my comfort generation but I think after XY I wanna watch Journeys or the SUMO anime (I like the artstyle)
But! I do have thoughts about where Ash and Co. are and what they're up too despite this.
I do remember talking about Ash either becoming a Professor or opening a sanctuary. Iirc it's because of how frequently Ash is willing to risk his life to save Pokémon. I stand by this idea. I think after he's satisfied with being a trainer taking on gyms and participating in Leagues he returns to Kanto to form a Sanctuary with the help of Sammy Oak, Brock, and Misty. (Unrelated but I wonder if Prof. Oak ever tells Ash that he was that kid he made friends with. I'm a huge Pokémon 4ever fan LOVED that movie as a kid).
I can see Ash calling his pals in other regions for help on this project. Some of his friends are specialists in certain Pokémon types or (Like in the case of Clermont and the aforementioned Brock) certain fields. Brock being a breeder can help Ash make habitats that are the best suited to house and rehabilitate Pokémon. Clemont could make Inventions that could both assist the Pokémon and/or the staff (by this point I'd like to think he's experience enough to keep most of his inventions from exploding prematurely).
I like to think that the goal of the sanctuary is rescuing Pokémon and rehabilitating them. Either to be released back into the wild, help with scientific studies, or to be adopted by trainers. We know that in the canon of the series there are abusive or negligent trainers as well as Pokémon that are difficult to raise or picky about the trainers they take too. I think Ash is the best at handling those kinds of Pokémon given his Charmander and his Froakie.
I can see the building being used like a trainer school. New trainers can attend classes to learn the basics of battling or even just Pokémon husbandry. There's a lot of little things to the world of Pokémon. What food is best for your partner, what berries help what conditions, what to pack for a journey, how to read a map, how to use your equipment, what to do in Pokémon encounters, ect. Maybe a retired professor oak teaches there. Maybe brock and Misty make special appearances to teach classes.
In my mind Bonnie is one of the first people to attend. Finally old enough to start her journey without her brothers supervision and eager to get started. Of course she's there with Dedenne her partner Pokémon and maybe a newly caught Pokémon pal (I think Clemont deserves to help bonnie with her very first official catch) that she excitedly shows Ash.
A retired rocket grunt James is hired there because lets be real James is also super compassionate towards Pokémon and if he doesn't get to live the rest of his life happily raising (and reclaiming his Pokémon from Giovanni) then I'm going to riot. I feel like that's one of his very first goals. rescuing Pokémon from Giovanni and finally reuniting with Growlie.
As for Jessie. I think she too is down to get her Pokémon back from Giovanni. But once that's settled I like to think she goes back to Kalos to continue performance. I always liked that she was a talented performer. And maybe even returns to studying nursing.
Meowth I don't think would like sticking around the Sanctuary all day despite how great of an asset he is given he's basically bilingual. So instead he ends up traveling with Bonnie and Max (the siblings of Ash's friends going on a journey together is the coolest idea to me). Meowth I think would enjoy the traveling. This time he doesn't have any evil plots to carry out and isnt 'blasting off again' every other day so this time he can really take it all in. He doesn't 'belong' to either kid but he's there to help keep them safe as they get a footing on traveling without their older siblings. Plus if the sanctuary needs him to play translator Ash or one of the staff can contact him he knows how to use a phone.
In a similar vein to Bonnie and Max travel companions I think Bonnie makes proper friends with Lyn (the girl who's bag got mixed up with hers). That's slightly unrelated but I love that episode.
I have a ton of thoughts about this Idea. Its not one that I think about often but when mentioned my brain runs wild and I can only imagine how far this pseudo Future au can expand as I see more characters
(Honorable mentions Because I love them but Trevor would become a professional Photographer, Shauna is a long standing Kalos Queen who's about to step down to try something new, and Tierno does successfully beat a league before switching his focus onto dancing but still battles for fun)

Truth and Lies. I've Lied A Lot On This Blog. Sorry, y'all.
So, I'm going to be officially 26 soon. I finally remembered I made this account.
I got a DM from someone who was actually in Plasma and I have to come clean.
Most, if not all, of the details in my about page and this blog in general are fake. As well as the details I've given on other websites. Most of y'all probably don't know me, so I'll try and also give examples/context.
The Things I've Claimed, and are Lies:
I was in Team Plasma. I was almost arrested for it. Truth: I was not in Plasma. I did date someone in Team Plasma and the police did question me after the Opelucid City freeze, but nothing ever happened to me about it as I wasn't involved.
The stuff about the Entree link Portal, with the mystery dungeons. Truth: Yeah, those photos aren't mine. I found them in old websites online and I posted them here. Sorry to those three dudes who messages me their conspiracy theories about it!
I own an Espeon named Enigma and a Leafeon named Lum and a Flareon named Figy. Truth: I do not. I've Pokemon-sat for the owners of those Pokemon. The Espeon is training to be a show-mon. The Flareon is a retired show-mon. I am a dirty liar. The Leafeon was a rescue that a family friend owns, he helps her garden and he got the ear scars from fighting off a Watchog, not from anything illegal.
I work with Fennel. Truth: I do not work with Fennel. I did mon-sit for her Munna, Dream, a few times, and I apologized for the online posts to her. I've also apologized to anyone else I've posted about online, and given them back their cash they paid me if they wanted it. So far only one person took me up on that offer and I respect that.
I made one other blog, it was full of lies too, but it was basically the same lies from what I remember.
Truths about me, whether they were on my blog or not:
My cousins breed Eevees as a side income to their big business most of them are involved in, and I Poke-sit a lot of Eevees for them and their fancy business friends, so most of the Eevees you see on my blog were ones I've taken care of.
I live in Unova. I do not have a criminal record. I've never been arrested or gotten into any trouble for my own actual bad choices.
I grew up sheltered and don't know how much things like food or housing should cost to most people. I'm used to spending without a budget and not worrying about it due to living with my grandmother to take care of her. I recently had to cut back majorly on my spending and it put a lot of things into perspective, which is one of the reasons I'm telling the truth here on this blog.
I make bad life choices. But not bad like joining a gang. Bad like writing stories online because I was bored and frustrated with my own life. Bad like toxic relationships that I still think of fondly, which isn't healthy. I am the cringiest ducklet in the pond.
I am now in school for some prerequisite classes to get my degree in giving x-rays to humans! I've been in clinicals at a human hospital and I do not want to work in Pokemon medicine. For Pokemon, I know how to give fluids, shots, cure most simple battling conditions and scrapes, but I'm no Nurse Joy and I don't want to be one.
I do own Pokemon. Three non-battling Pokemon. A Skarmory that my Grandmother bought me roughly a year ago so I could use it to get around, he is trained to be transport instead of batling. An old lady Torracat that was my Grandmother's Torracat, she has to get IV fluids every few days as she's in late stage kidney disease due to old age. And a young Purrloin that's a pretty gray color that I rescued from underneath my uncles car when he was a kitten. They don't battle. I don't battle. I don't have time for it. My Torracat can't battle for health issues, even though she wants to and she was a terror on all the neighborhood Pokemon, and my Purrloin is scared of battling, and scared of most everything. Skarmory doesn't battle because he was trained from hatching to be a flying transport Pokemon.
So sorry for everyone I lied to!
This is Keen-Umbreon, signing off, probably rather obnoxiously. I could have just let this blog fade into even-more-obscurity, but leaving the lies out there felt bad.
If I do make another blog, it will be about the Eeveelutions and other Pokemon I've sat for, with the permission of the owners and not posting as if I own them. I was scummy, and I will do better.
((OOC: Figured this was a better end than the end that happened in our Pokerole campaign. A lot less of a "Look at Me" style end. Might seem like a cop-out or something, but it's also inspired by my teenage adventures online. I was a lying little crap back in the day. I got called out and learned my lesson then. Figured it would be like a book-end to mirror that irl journey here. Instead of giving the character the send-off he had in our partly-homebrewed Pokerole campaign, where he ended up turning into a Pokemon and going feral and the world was doomed lol. Cuz that's very "Look At Me". It works for home-brewed Pokerole but not here.))

Mysterylover watches Bleach episodes 243-244 "Goofball Hime Returns!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. NEW OP! The highlights of this one include a look at our stylishly dressed and sexy new cast of villains, and a hero lineup that includes a badass Orihime wielding some kind of weapon. Sadly, none of the Soul Reaper characters. I'm sure they'll return eventually, but I guess this is the Humans Only arc.
2. OOH, Ichi reveals there's been a time skip and he's now a senior! And Hime and Chad revealed to everyone that Ichi's a superhero, so no more secret identity crap. Except he doesn't have a secret id anymore. OK...
3. OOH and Ichi's sisters are getting powers now! Cool, are they gonna fight this arc? AND IS THAT TATSUKI WHAT'S UP WITH YOUR HAIR GIRL?!
4. Ooh and Uryuu's back in focus since he's the only one with powers left. And Ichi's missing Rukia, who - DAMMIT - hasn't showed up to visit her other human friends. Seriously Ruki?
5. OOH and we're dealing with high school stuff. And Ichigo gets good grades? I didn't know that. So he's not the classic, bottom of the class Shonen hero IQ? COOL.
6. "I'm enjoying my quiet retirement" Ichi basically says. Oh damn dude you know that's an invite to IMMEDIATELY have it ripped apart. In film speak that's like saying "DESTROY ME PLOT"
7. And Ichi's still a tough badass, even without superpowers, so he beats up a purse snatcher like the superhero he is. THAT'S OUR ICHI.
8. Though apparently the guy whose purse he saved is evil or something. DAMMIT PLOT HE HAD 3 DAYS LEFT TILL RETIREMENT
9. Tatsuki has a part time job at the dojo! And OOH YES THERE'S MY GIRL FINALLY!! ORIHIME, who struts down the hall like a goddess who everone she passes immediately falls for. And she's got longer hair and she comes in by rolling down a pole!! Tatsuki reprimands her.
10. OMG TATSUHIME IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER. And Ichigo is officially attempting to join their OT3. I legit enjoy all 3 corners of this trio now.
11. ORIHIME IS GETTING TO BE WHACKY AND ECCENTRIC AGAIN. I've missed eccentric Orihime, she's been through so much crap recently we haven't gotten to see her goofing around. And Ichi highlights that her "eyes now look like #3". LOL THIS IS HILARIOUS I LOVE IT.
12. "boss" So Ichigo has a job? And he immediately gets fired. Or quits. And then a gigantic thug team shows up to...threaten him? URYUU SHOWS UP TO THREATEN THEM LIKE A BAMF.
13. And it appears our new villains' boss is a sexy maid. NOICE. And Ichi and Uryuu are bickering about how to handle the thugs in 244. (just kiss already). OOH URYUU IS CLASS REP? I DIDN'T KNOW THAT.
14. This really is my week for shipping Shonen heroes with their glasses clad, class rep BFFs.
15. And they get beaten up by a BAMF SEXY LADY WHO IS ICHIGO'S NEW BOSS OMG I'M IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT WHO ARE YOU SEXY BOSS LADY?! YOU REMIND ME OF IZUMI CURTIS.
16. So we meet Ichigo's boss and determine what his job is. It is very strange. His boss apparently has kids and she is able to flop from sexy badass to loving mom in an instant. I LOVE HER.
17. HER NAME IS IKUMI? Screw I'm just calling her Izumi. THIS IS WHAT COMES OF BINGING FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST AGAIN. Everyone is FMA.
18. YAY BACK TO ORIHIME. "Hey did someone kidnap Ichigo? Do I have to go rescue him?" "Nope just his boss" "Yeah that sounds like Ichigo. Always surrounded by weirdos like you and me."
19. Hime apparently has a 6th Ichigo sense. And Hime has a part time job?! OMG LETS SEE HOW SEXY AND WEIRD HER BOSS IS. Anyway Uryu''s got a stalker apparently.
20. Anyway Ichigo's getting hired to track down his own dad apparently? And Karin is training with Urahara. And she's resolved to protecc her big brother. NOICE. This arc needs to end with all the lady BAMFS lining up to kick some ass.
21. Some shit's gonna go down that'll threaten Ichi's family and our new mullet-haired villain or whatever he is warns him.
22. Orihime comes by his window with bread and is now in Ichi's room feeling awkward. "LOL HIME YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE" says Ichi. Oh, do tell? Also Hime and Ichi are now comfortable bickering a little, which is definitely making me ship them hard.
23. Hime asks if he's being stalked. And Ichi tells her it's ok that she's so inquisitive. Uryu is stalking them and annoyed apparently that Hime is stealing his boyfriend. Then follows our new villain stalker off to see what's up. AND OMG URYU DON'T BE DEAD!!

Hot take a talk about technoblade:
Okay look I've been part of this fandom since August(thank god cuz i watched it all live and it woukd be a nightmare to caatch up) I bring this up cuz i want to discuss my problem with technos character. I have watched every single techno livestream that he made on dream smp and believe it or not i used to be a techno sympathiser that is until doomsday. (By techno apologist standards i am qualified to talk about his character hooray..)
Now techno like every character is flawed if he wasn't he would be boring fandom. One of his biggest flaws is being a hypocrite. That is not something you realise until you compare what he says all the time so you need to look a little deeper to realise it and i don't blame people for not seeing it.
This wouldn't be that much of a problem because that is a character flaw among with many others but the problem that his character has faced is that he doesn't develop much.
Now i hear techno apologist jump at me every single time noooo he isn't a stagnant character he has developed a lot. I am not saying that he hasn't developed at all the problem is that he has developed very little especially when you consider everything.
His goals his ideas his perception of the world what he believes him everything that makes his character him hasn't changed much and that is not a good thing from a writing perspective. Now why do i bring this up. Firstly I'm not saying this to say techno is a bad writer far from it he can be very good when he puts his mind to it. The problem with keeping a character in this state is that it's very harmful for said character first and to the story and other characters second. Look even at yourselves i can guarantee that you aren't the exact same person you were like five years ago for example because during that time you made mistakes learned from them and you grew. Just like in real life you also can't stay stagnant in fiction.
Okay so that's the main problem with technos character that he is stagnant as a character. Now this wouldn't be as big of a problem if he didn't have the role that he has.
You see techno both c! and cc! are very good at the game basically. Now why do i bring this up. The reason why i bring this up is bc of where this places techno whuch is at the very top of the chain don't try and seny it. This means that he is one of the most powerful people on the server if you are going to try and go against this point just look at lmanberg guys that's living proof of how powerful and how terrifying he actually is. I know a lot of you are gonna say but every can get stacked or play the game but you guys forget that even if you are stacked you just don't have the skill and cc! Techno of the best people when it comes to that which bleeds into his character. Saying that is like looking at the upper class than looking at the lower class saying just get rich like it doesn't work like that.
Because of his role techno is literally the 1% by rl standards which means he can a lit of things free of consequences bc no one can give him said consequences. The butcher army was ig an attempt at that but they failed miserably let's be real here.
Because he is in the 1% is incredibly skilled at pvp and can do anything bc no one can challenge him this places him on a pedestal and creates a power imbalance a very big one at that.
And that leads to his biggest problem he has practically everything as said by Techno himself and is never challenged, but that's not an interesting character. An audience gets tired for a character that always wins or loses. Because if it happens repeatedly it just takes all the suspense oh he will win immediately. He will go and slaughter them problem solved. That's it every time. Something that techno himself confirmed is then when he has a problem he just stabs it (both of these were said during the egg stream).
And if you are going to bring the things he went through to say he's changed don't cuz as long as he doesn't act on it it means nothing. Like examples Red festival killed tubbo an ally. Traumatic experience right? This is a good moment to develop his character and give us more insight. What happens? Techno tries to dismiss it and shows us his anxiety and gives us insight on his character Great! Character development? Starting to question himself just a bit or any sign of that event having an effect on him? Nope! Why? Cuz he doesn't act on it instead he tries to hide the fact that ever happened and changes to a different topic bc there is no justification there and he knows it. Nov 16th c!technos pov he just got betrayed caused some damage wished death upon his former allies and left. Quite a dramatic scene. He feels betrayed time for some good old character development. Him thinking about himself and his actions. Reflecting on them. Great moment! Problem: literally everything that shows this is done off camera and now suddenly he's retired... Okay you know what fine it's alright he would probably expand upon and did a timeskip to explain the ling time he didn't stream. I see where it's comming from. The butcher army ge gets hunted down bc actions have consequences techno and you can't just run away like that not after doing that. Great point from the butcher army. Go give him some consequences his character needs it. And then he gets executed alright a bit too far but i guess that's how it goes in this server. Techno gets his life back immediately.. well that was a bit pointless but alright a cool scene for the animatic fair. Then he kills quackity.. the butcher army lost.. this.. what? But this was the moment of consequences... and quackity didn't get it back like techno the butcer aemy lost more than techno what? Moving along he teams up with tommy aannnd the 50 withers are up and ready of course you didn't fully retire what was i expecting. And now team up with tommy perfect way to learn about dream and give more insight on lmanberg and how dream is a tyrant and everything techno is supposed to stand against. The green festival tommy chooses tubbo over techno techno feels betrayed understandable.... and then he teams up with dream lmanberg is destroyed and the underdogs are beaten to the ground loose everything they ever worked for and are taught to be scared of the anarchists?!?!?!?!
Okay now hold up a sec I'll have to stop you right there. What. did. you. just. do. Cuz there is a limit to the amount of stuff you can let a character get away with. The line was crossed months ago this is not good at all.
Also what are yoi guys talking about consequences. Lives? All 3 home? Right there pets? The ones that died were the ones he brought expecting to not live he brought them there on purpose so they don't count. He is one of the most wealthy peoole on the server (no one beats ranboo lol) what did he exactly loose? Friendships? Was that all the hardships you guys have?
Lmanberg lost their home their lives their wealth their pets their friend everything they loved and lived for everything they stood for they lost a part of themselves in the end.
Look at the last 2 paragraphs and how imbalanced that is. How are you guys blind to this How?! And why did doomsday happen? Because the butcher army failed. And if anything techno proved them that they should have punished him harder with this.
So what was the lesson of doomsday?
That you shoukd obey the people on top and never go against them or you will loose everything you love.
Great lesson guys this is exactly the lesson the rich class and every single tyrant tried to teach society and this lesson is being told by the anarchist great job....
Do you see the problem now. This is the reason techno needs a consequence bc if he keeps going like this he will become a Mary Sue. And that is a horrible direction for a character that has a lot of potential. That potential is why i liked his character that much in the beginning but now it's almost non existent. Anyway I'll end this now cuz this went on for too long. That's basically my opinion on it feel free to share your thoughts.
okay. okay. i read this like three times bc. because look
i agree in some very specific points, but i disagree in very broad manners.
(this entire......... essay is all /rp and /nm!!!!)
anyways. send me hot takes!!!
i like c!techno. i personally think he's one of the most fun characters to watch because i enjoy the mess, the crazyness, the chaos of it all. watching doomsday through c!tommy's eyes was painful. watching doomsday through c!techno's eyes was just so fucking hilarious and exciting and fun. he's just a fun character to watch. he's just Funny. i am a fan. however
for starters: ctechno is, 100%, out of the park, an stagnant character. he has little to no development throughout the story. we see no changes in how he acts. that's not necessarily a bad thing, but considering the type of character he is, watching him develop (be it to an actually full-fledged villain or towards a redemption arc) would be ideal to keep him a character people can actually support.
i wouldn't say he's a hypocrite. c!techno has a very strict moral code and he follows it with no hesitation, with no doubts. the point is that his moral code is flawed and skewed. that doesn't make him a hypocrite, that makes him someone with bad morals.
calling c!techno "the 1%" is a stretch. for one- c!ranboo has as much resources, if not more, as c!techno does. he has dozens of totems, thousands of emeralds, and probably has one of the higher counts of diamond and netherite on the server. why is that never brought up? because it doesnt matter. c!foolish has so much gold and diamonds and netherite and just everything, really, and it's also never brought up/a reason for people to be afraid of him. the dream smp isn't a capitalist universe, there's no "1%". specially bc there's, like, i don't know, 20 players? that makes c!techno 1/20 OR 3/20 if we count c!ranboo and c!foolish. but that's not the point at all: the point is that ctechno is feared bc he's skilled and has a relevant personality, not bc he has resources. c!wilbur has no shit and he's still terrifying, there's no character willing to oppose him. not because of resources, but because of who he is. when c!techno first fled from l'manburg into "retirement" he had no shit either, it took him a while to be rich again. no one attacked him either way.
why, you ask? bc he fought against c!quackity with a fucking pickaxe and won. that's why. c!techno doesn't need resources to be feared. the power imbalance doesn't come from his resources, it comes from others’s fear. and they have a reason for that fear, bc c!techno hasn't been defeated yet. that has nothing to do with "upper class" and "lower class". because, one, not a capitalist system and class disparity isn't as simple as that, and two, even without his "riches" he still wins, bc he's got the skill. if you take out the skill, him being rich means nothing and he wouldve been easily killed by the butcher army or c!tommy or whoever decided to kill him. a good example is, once again, c!ranboo: if he wasn't friends with everyone and someone decided to actually fight him like was done with c!techno, he would've died. easily. being rich in the smp is relative.
c!techno will be challenged when we have a character strong enough to challenge him in a way that matters. it's important to be smart about it. that's why i'd love to see, out of everyone, c!philza turn against him, but that's a how other discussion (WHICH I'M WILLING TO TALK ABOUT.......... everytime i make these and i add little point i dont elaborate on and then say i'm willing to talk about them and no one ever asks me to <//3 PAIN /nm /lh).
i do think he's a character that just Always Win in narrative ways and that's very frustrating. he does need to get pulled a few notches down. again, that will only happen when we have a character that can step up to him and challenge him in a way that matters (woooo c!philza you want to hold c!techno accountable for his bullshit so bad woooo........)
now, onto c!techno's trauma. he doesn't need to show it. he- he doesn't. that's........ not how trauma works, and that's one of the points that make his trauma so forgettable for the viewers. c!techno is, from inside out, a character that hardly shows his emotions, but that doesn't mean he doesn't display symptons of trauma. he does, they're just a lot more subtle than other characters's. that doesn't mean he doesn't have any or that he isn't affect by it. c!techno is, in a lot of ways, a lot like c!tubbo: both of them don't mention the shit they've gone through and don't react to it and bc of that some of the viewers don't see how important some traumatic events were in their characterisation. that's why you analyse those characters's trauma through behavior, not through easily seen displays of trauma.
i do think it's taken a little too far with c!techno. the way he reacted to c!tommy's death was...... disappointing, to say the least. c!techno is an underwhelming character in many ways. as said before, it's because he's stagnant. that definitely needs to be worked on.
about the syndicate? yeah, no. theyre not teaching others to fear them. others just Do That bc of their history on the server, but they have literally talked about how they want to better their reputation, bc they don't want to be seen as murderers or oppressors in any way. are they flawed? yes, very much. they have no indicators of what is or isn't a government and they show no regard around the importance of a difference between an oppressive and a democratic government.
they had no right to show up at c!tubbo's door and interrogate him, because they can't appoint themselves as government police. for starters, that's not how anarchy works (they should've had everyone's permission for that. they obviously don't), but also it's just... stupid. it makes it seem that they're trying to boss everyone around so that they live like the syndicate wants them to, which goes directly against the syndicate's own ideals. however, c!techno thinks he has that right. he thinks this is what he's supposed to do. he's just following his moral code - his moral code is just deeply, deeply flawed. what he says and what he does contradict each other but not for him, not to his interpretation. to his interpretation, he's following his strict moral code.
what happened at doomsday was horrible and c!techno has to be held accountable for it, yes, but, again, no character knows how to work around c!techno enough to hold him accountable for it. that's not c!techno's fault.
l'manburg just deserved better, honestly, but to be fair c!techno has been taken advantage of time and time again (sometimes purposefully, sometimes not) and he's fucked up in the head, god bless LMAOOOOOOO
i agree that things need to change otherwise he's just gonna keep being a stagnant character who can get away with everything. i do think he has more to him than meets the eye, tho. meh idk that's still just analysis!!! we have no way of knowing the intent behind c!techno's characterisation, at least not for now. i hope for the best tho cc!techno don't let me down <3

These are Kathleen's parents, Hancock and Fannie!
Hancock is older than Fannie by 15 years (and Fannie was in the same graduating class as Wilbur and Oswald). He moves from the Craftsmanship District to the Dueling District after realizing the business potential of selling locks there, since people in the Dueling District really don't like to travel to other districts and professional duelers like to keep their dueling wands protected (for the same reasons people lock their guns up when they aren't in use).
Fannie was having trouble finding a suitor (especially since there was a lot of competition back then—it probably doesn't seem like it because I only design OCs for Gen 0 when making another OC's parents, but there was at least 5 girls for every boy attending Weissdorn at the time), so she was delighted when Hancock approached her after a safety demonstration. Hancock built up a lot of wealth and Fannie's parents couldn't afford to be picky, so he married her almost immediately after Fannie graduated from Weissdorn.
They had eight children together, with Kathleen being the youngest. Hancock was pretty busy with his locksmithing business, which he passed down to his eldest son upon retirement...meaning Fannie was left to manage eight kids on her own. It was stressful at first, but things got easier on her as children moved out of the house or got old enough to help out/care for themselves. Hancock didn't really acknowledge his daughters—lockpicking was the one thing he and Kathleen bonded over and even then, he kinda just spent half an hour teaching her the basics and nodded in approval whenever Kathleen showed him a lock she successfully picked. He didn't leave anything to his daughters after he passed either, expecting their husbands to provide for them. Fannie inherited most of Hancock's wealth since he wanted her to be provided for, though his three sons got some things from him too.
Hancock passed before Vivian hatched and Fannie dropped contact with Kathleen after she got married (which was the custom at the time), so neither of Kathleen's parents know about the divorce or her second marriage. Neither do any of her siblings, whom she also lost contact with.

The girl who doesn't know she's beautiful
There's this girl that I know that doesn't seem to understand that she's beautiful. I'm not sure if she reads this blog anymore, but if she is, uhhhhhhh, enjoy? She constantly talks about being annoyed by guys, often talking in a joking matter that they won't stop bothering her and that some just show up out of nowhere sometimes to make her acquaintance. The way she talks to me about these situations, I am not even sure if she knows what exactly is happening, and the fact that she gets flirted with basically on a daily basis. She says that this happens because she is too nice and that she allows people to think that she isn't annoyed. Although this is possibly part of the reason this happens, I can't agree with it fully because I consider myself to be an honestly nice person most of the time, yet, you don't see me with whatever type of attention this is. Idk if its a lack of personal confidence or self-awareness, but I think that she doesn't realize that she's beautiful.
Anyways, the other day, this girl asked me one of the most confusing questions I believe I've ever been asked: "Why aren't you dating anyone?". At the time, I really couldn't answer the question fully honestly so I told the half-truth, saying that I've just given up on that shit, which I think flew by her head anyways so, yeah, good job Sam. Look, if you're new here (if so, wtf are you doing, but also, welcome) I've been solidly single for the past 3 years, and as I've expressed in other posts before this one, it's driving me fucking insane at this point. I'm happy don't get me wrong, but I could be happier, and a little less lonely. Back to the point, there are many reasons why I couldn't tell this girl I wasn't dating anyone. First of all, which I hope is clear by now, I would like to date her. She knows I like her, but at this point, who fucking knows if she likes me, that's pretty much anyone's guess. The whole situation around this whole thing is complicated, and although I wish I could explain it, I think it would be better to keep to myself. Let's just say that it's weird to be asked why I'm not dating someone when that person knows I'm interested in them; capiche?
This could be the end of the post, but alas, I have more to say on this question. The truth is that I really don't see myself as dateable anymore. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few encounters over the years of people interested in me, but I've not felt "the butterflies" everyone talks about in a really long time, and that honestly scares me. I know I'm not asexual, I actually find some people attractive and I am actively in search of a relationship, so that route is out of the equation. This thought process is one that I have a lot, and although it has been influenced recently by this girl, it still haunts me that maybe I'm just doomed to fail when it comes to this shit. For the first time in 3 years, I kid you not, I am actually taken aback and fully infatuated with this girl, and not being able to do anything about it is toying with my mind. I'm currently stuck in a rut where the only place I can talk about this struggle is by writing it here, because I don't feel like I can go into detail on my thought processes about relationships with any of my friends, my family, or this girl obviously. Let me explain why this whole ordeal is hard.
As I mentioned, I don't think I'm very dateable. The first side to this is online dating, which I've had little to no success in. Why? Well for the very simple fact that first impressions are more important than ever in online communication, and when you look like I do, uhhhhh, you don't get to speak your mind as often as fucking alpha bro jacked dude don't you. Look, I don't think I am such a horrible looking dude, but I'm the nearest anyone will ever get to average. You might say, well Sam, you're 6ft girls love tall guys! I would thus retort, how many girls in the bios write, looking for a tall guy, but also make sure he's lanky as fuck and drifts in the wind. I workout (a lot now) but none of it is to make me look fucking jacked, because even if I was bigger or whatever, that wouldn't really change the fact that I'm definitely not instantly "likable". I've thus had to confine myself to apps like Hinge which seem to host people who are less likely to want night one bone zones, but that in consequence are not very populated. What's worse, I fucking suck at texting and cannot at all translate who I am or the personality that I can exude in person by messaging. I sound so fucking boring, like a retired interviewer, and basically, I just don't have it at all when it comes to communicating to new people who I am or allowing myself to open up quickly. Online dating has been really shitty for me, and thus it's one of the reasons I haven't been dateable.
In general, I'd say I'm more self-confident than ever, doing well in school and actually being fit for the first time in a while. But when it comes to translating that into confidence that can be shown to others, I really don't think I have what it takes. I mean even for people I would want to be friends with or such, I cannot approach strangers at all because I end up completely messing up the sentence I had prepared in advance, cracking my voice every 3 and a half seconds. So, we're doing super hot here, online and in real life, I'm a complete fuck up. This ties well to the notion that I believe I had written about before in that I don't really make new friends because I feel like being my genuine self took already so long to expose with those that I know now that I'm not even sure how to repeat it. I think often, I come off as an asshole to people with my over-confident sarcastic humor and my want to seem like I know what I'm talking about all the time. I also believe that I'm not a very approachable person since I don't generally smile for no reason and tend to always have a serious expression, probably explaining why every row I sit in class is empty. I think people are put off by my want to be a leader and to excel in everything I do, when for others, they would rather interact with those that don't put themselves through anxiety to perform to a level that they know is unrealistic. I believe I am undatable because I am essentially unreachable, or that I have negative behavior that contributes to me not being approached.
Look I'm not sure where I am going with this but yeah, I am quite confused. I don't know what to do about this girl, to allow myself to be friend-zoned for the 100th time in my life, or to give up entirely and try to get my mind off it. That second option is the one I've heard the most from my friends and sometimes my family, and yet, for all the bad, every time I see this girl, I forget all about it. I forget about the times I've been stood up and the countless hints, advice and tips I've given for who knows what in return. I don't know what to do, and you know the irony of it all; I finished writing this whole text right next to her.
*Quick update* Got friend-zoned literally by the end of the day. I guess it's settled.
*Update #2* She says she had feelings for me, yet is deciding that she doesn’t want a relationship with me. Good guys don’t win and you can quote me on that :).
