Midnight thoughts on Batmom and her children's clothes.

WARNING: My mother was like this, Not on the money side, though. And you ask:¿Ella, are you projecting?, and I will answer: No. ¿Were you got such nonsense idea?

This gif represents my mind right now. I should be sleeping.

Batmom keeps its kids SPOTLESS when it comes to dressing. She doesn't control what they wear, but her kids have only the best brands on them. And if she couldn't get whatever they want in the best brand, it's gonna will be tailored for them.

JUST THE BEST FOR HER BABIES.

And she does not repeat it, there is no such thing as the younger brother taking the clothes of the older one in this family. Each child has their own style, autonomy and clothes, and they rarely agree on those things so sharing is never an option for them when it comes to clothing. If her baby grows out of their clothes, Batmom donate it or keep it for future grandchildren.

I mean, I'm talking about #silentluxury for her children, from they feet to the tip of their heads.

The funniest thing about all this is that most of the time they do not even realize it. It's not until a Gotham news forum pulls out a detailed article about the Wayne's silent luxury fashion and how it dates from Dick's early days at the mansion to the present day with Damian that they notice the pattern.

Like, imagine newly-reunited-with-his-family-but-still-rebellious Jason wearing a sweatshirt of the brand The Row that clearly bought his mom and costs at least $ 800 that he can not pay because he is a rebel and does not need his dad's money but he acepts gifts from his mum, of course.

Or little Dick returning from a day of art classes (because Batmom decided to give him other extracurricular activities other than a vigilante dressed as a traffic light) excited with his Dior jeans of $ 1300 dollars stained in paint, but with a work of art in his hand that he did only for his mommy.

Or Tim, wearing a pair of $450 black Gucci sandals, walking half-asleep out of his college class after he didn't hear his alarm, so he left with the first thing he found from his apartment.

Or Damian, putting one of his cashmire sweaters on Titus at Christmas, wearing a maching of his own, equally expensive and soft.

Also, imagine Cassandra only wearing THE BEST in balett shoes and equipment, totally unconsciously of the amount of money that really costs, all that because neither Batmom nor Bruce ever told her because it's nothing really that expensive for this family.

And no matter how many clothes they ruin. Never. And I repeat: NEVER their mom will allow her children to have something less.

(They are more spoiled than they themselves even realize.)

Bruce got jealous at some point and started letting Batmom choose his wardrobe as well.

#thinking of dinosaurs and troodontids were my favorite dinosaurs as a child #when younger i had a real full troodontid tooth fossil that meant a lot to me #for a time we lived within a few kilometers of hadrosaur sites and troodontid sites #while wider general area had many sites of recovery for the big celebrities like tyrannosaur and multiple dromaeosaurs #at that time troodontids were kinda infamous for i think the depiction in some childrens field guides and dino books #which depicted like a fantasy speculative humanoid troodontid based on 1980s model at Canadian Museum of Nature in ottawa #anyway would visit a small local paleo center a lot and woman in her 70s or 80s ran the counter of their center and rock shop #one day she asked me what my fave dino was and i said troodon so she pulled out the tooth and just gifted it to me #in little black case size of ring box with padding and transparent plastic viewing cover kinda like laminate for displaying a trading card #tooth got stolen from out my vehicle while giving some people a ride while at university before i got too poor for tuition #later during first year of pandemic owner of my storage unit died and new property owners threw away everything i ever owned #i was homeless anyway lost job due to early pandemic closures and had to allocate any money to insulin and other prescrip meds #but wouldve found a way to save my things if the new owners had contacted me #they threw out photoalbums y backpacking gear y books y musical instruments y clothes y artwork y camera y all family keepsakes #and all childhood treasures like souvenirs and gifts and school awards and writing portfolios and all the little memories #which i was always sentimental about as child #from earliest age my room looked like a natural history museum with plants and maps and library of field guides #and rocks and field trip keepsakes and all kinds of little animal figurines and mother had painted room in forest greens and browns #to feel like a forest and among the succulent plants and a globe sat the troodon tooth #parents passed when i was a child #never near any family and were always moving never got to settle into proper stable place then father passed after long sad illness #and mother put in so much effort but she passed few years later and i could not take care of myself or my remaining material possessions #and so im still quite hurt having nothing whatsoever remaining of my childhood or school friends or mother or life generally #and when trying to process grief my thoughts often come back to the troodontid tooth as a focal point a distillation of what was lost #even when young i knew it was advised not to become too connected to material physical possessions #but still there are some small little trinkets in our lives that seem to hold so much meaning and i tortured myself for losing that tooth #thinking about troodon reminds me of childhood

Annual reminder that Aang wasn't a terrible dad, that one episode was badly written and had poor perspective. Aang was a busy, working dad who had a lot of stuff to do, and then suddenly his third kid was a full-on Airbender and he was literally the only one qualified to teach this baby, so then he finally had an excuse to put his family before his duties ("My family IS my duty now, suckers!!!"), and so Kya and Bumi were all "What the heck, Dad???" because they were now teens (iirc) and they missed out on all that stuff.

It was basically Aang going from "my family has 20% of my time" to "my family has 40% of my time". Still not enough, probably, but Aang could finally go and explore his own culture without feeling guilty about leaving the rest of the world to fend for itself.

Okay, I might be missing a lot of things here, and I am hoping someone can clear this up for me with some understanding and nuance... But like all religious aspects of this asides, and if you set aside whatever cultural reasons this is happening despite the extreme loss of life etc... Just speaking politically, as a nation, here on earth with ongoing earth politics... What does Israel -the government responsible in this- think it is accomplishing?

Like yes, outwardly their arguments, Zionism, is about taking a homeland "back" and just ignoring that the people who currently live there are natural born residents that shouldn't be forced out of their homes, but if we set that asides for a second, what do they think is ACTUALLY going to happen? Long term.

Say they succeed in their aims, right? Say they wipe out every Palestinian so there's no one to challenge their claim to that land, and everyone in power helped them do it. Say they get that land. Say they successfully scapegoat anti-Zionist Jewish people into taking the heat world over, and that's a successful distraction.

What do they think happens next?

Do they think they get to rebuild a nation there and be left in peace?

Ignore religious and cultural implications for a second and bear with me...

You have a land that's recently been utterly destroyed. Even if a nation's worth of Zionists, and everyone who's kind of stuck trying to live under the Israeli government who had no real say in this, swoop in after and rebuilt it for themselves.. What do they think their political position will be in the world after that, or during it?

In a world where antisemitism is at an all time high, globally, and they just alienated and antagonized all other Jewish people and all allies by doing a fucking genocide... With their military force depleted and this land they just won torn to shreds...

Do they think countries like America selling them guns now are going to keep supporting them and giving them resources to build themselves up?

Or do they realize it's far more likely that they will immediately become the next target, the next political enemy of the USA, because they are a small, now exhausted nation of a minority group that just ensured no one will come to their rescue or defense?

America will see the error of their ways, they were 'lied to' documents have come out showing what really happened there and they had 'no idea' and now Israel "needs to answer for it's war crimes :("...

Because every instinct tells me that any nation helping them take over this land and promising to help rebuild it isn't doing it to help Israel... They are doing it so that once the dust settles Israel will be standing weakly on a broken land and be easy to knock down to take whatever natural resources are left with no resistance.

... Like idk THE FUCKING OIL... Which I doubt miraculously stops right at Gaza's borders and etc just because it hasn't been dug up there yet...

At best this is about access to that oil and their allies will only use them so long as that oil is handed to them for peanuts and after that Israel will have served it purpose.

And the citizens of Israel will pay the price, the ones who were as stuck with their government as the average American is stuck with the GOP, and Jewish people the world over will pay for something they never wanted and were against all along.

The only conclusion I can draw from this is whoever is in power here is using it to make a quick buck and bail, and is just taking advantage of Zionism to do it, and that everyone is going to end up completely fucked even if they succeed, maybe even the USA and whoever was responsible for this in the governments lending a hand to Israel when it becomes really clear in hindsight -to the general public- that this genocide was over some fucking oil. That they destroyed the people and land of an entire nation for a few more years of accelerated global warming.

Do the people fighting and bombing and supporting this not see the pattern here? Or are they mostly in on it? They have to be in on it because all that's going to be left is rubble and tears in the land. They can't possibly think they will take on America next and get anywhere? Or that American aid and charity won't exhaust itself once they have what they want? [And I am referring to Canada's alliance with the states and involvement in this too]

Do we need to remind anyone of America's history involving itself in the affairs of other nations? It's very recent and ongoing 'history'... Or is that understanding unspoken and simmering under the layer of horrors we're a little distracted by at the moment?

That this is about oil, that there will be no homeland for anyone, just more blood. Just a graveyard torn open and bleeding black.

Then Randy Random sent a space battle event, which would have been frustrating if this were still The Animist Alliance. Fortunately, the Children of Ecthuctu are a little less charitable and a little more hungry than my last colony.

We did rescue two people, one is a catgirl highmate named Duchess who looked interesting, and one was a man named Carello. A slave caravan came through soon after, though, and Carello's brother happened to be amongst the merchandise, so we sold Carello to them, and now they're reunited. How lovely! We kept Duchess, though. I'm going to try and convert her.

And then, FINALLY, Charlon Whitestone called to tell us where we can find a ship. We're going to research pemmican and survival meals, then head off and set up a new temporary base a few tiles closer to the ship. We'll inch our way there, no matter how long it takes!

Here is a helpful map of S-2 Media (the planet) showing the distance from Landfall (our current settlement) to the crashed ship. It's going to be quite a trek!

something that i think we, as a fandom, should outgrow is reducing characters to common jokes / memes. i think this especially applies for the more minor characters because as someone who has mostly written minor characters, it is really discouraging if the general opinion on a character that you love is [ insert meme here ]. the author already fails to respect his characters. not clowning on the characters your fellow rpers clearly love and adore enough to write them should be the bare minimum
