But Mark is probably my faaavorite especially because of the scene in SitW when he takes Isolde's virginity and tells her all about how she's going to be his good little wife, etc.

--Heartbreaker by Sarah MacLean. One of my favorite MacLean heroes! The good girlification of it all, the wry observations. I love it.

--The Duke Gets Even by Joanna Shupe. Joanna heroes in general are good dirty talkers. But I think that this book takes it over the top because there's an entire scene where she's like "I bet you don't even swear" and he's like "O. RLLY." and proceeds to talk her into a storm.

--Every single Mila Finelli hero (Mila is Joanna's mafia romance pen name) has FILTHY dirty talk.

--Eyes On Me by Sara Cate. Kinda necessitated by the fact that the hero begins his relationship with the heroine after discovering that she's a cam girl--she can hear him but can't see him. Also. She is his stepsister. WHOOPS.

--Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco. Some FANTASY ROMANCE DIRTY TALK. Ugh, the massage scene in this book. Envy dirty talks to Camilla about all the things he's going to do to her and how she's basically gonna die for it while massaging her and fingering her. It's great.

--Kresley Cole heroes are also "generally good dirty talkers" but books like Lothaire, Pleasure of a Dark Prince, and The Master really hit it outta the park for me with the dirty talk

--The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan has a delightful accidental phone sex scene in which the hero and heroine, ~platonic best friends~ unintentionally get each other off over the phone. It's GREAT.

--Grace Callaway writes uniformly strong dirty talking heroes. Would especially recommend Pippa and The Prince of Secrets and Charlotte and The Seductive Spymaster on this level.

--Act Your Age by Eve Dangerfield is real good on the "stepfather role play" dirty talk front. REAL REAL GOOD.

--Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage by Jennifer Ashley OOOOOH Mac Mackenzie is super dirty. But also so funny? He's always like "TELL ME ABOUT YOUR NAUGHTY SCHOOLGIRL DAYS" fully knowing that she didn't do anything naughty as a schoolgirl lol

--Sweetest Scoundrel by Elizabeth Hoyt has the MAGNIFICENT Asa Makepeace who just talks her through it the entire book. I also love the deranged dirty talk in Duke of Midnight--"TAKE MY COME FOR IT'S ALL I CAN GIVE YOU'.

--A Holly Jolly Ever After by Sierra Simone and Julie Murphy is a great Christmas romcom that happens to have a Big Boy hero who's an amazing dirty talker.

--The Duke Gets Desperate by Diana Quincy has a WHIMSICALLY ZANY dirty talker duke of the "paint me a vivid picture with your dirty talk" variety.

I rlly adored dorian and funny enough I bookmarked it when you posted the first chapter but I didn't get a chance to reading it until now bc I knew it one of those fics that I simply cry over waiting for those updates....ifykyk

anyways I just want to say I rlly love the dead poets society vibes of it and im just in love with your writing style it felt very intimate and the flow of your writing is just impeccable

I also have to say it was just rlly soft and it was nice to have a fluffy type of romance even tho they were times they werent so happy but such is life!!! although now I'm craving cuddles and someone to read to me so I guess I'm a little unhappy like them :((( it was nice to be reminded bad and good thoughts should coexist otherwise one can rlly be in a constant state of misery and that being vulnerable is terrifying but worth it!

it's strange to be back on tumblr for me, too. it's been a while, for reasons i'll probably get into when i next post a new fic (still a bit of a way off i'm afraid).

i'm really glad that you enjoyed dorian! i had so much fun writing that one, especially finding all the quotes and doing all the background reading for it. i'm very, very proud of it as a story, and it makes me happy that a lot of people seem to love it. i have a real soft spot for dark academia and coming-of-age stories, so i'm glad i got the chance to write those vibes.

i've been writing ever since i was six (so almost eighteen years now), mostly because i loved reading and because my big sister wrote stories and therefore i had to as well. i started writing fic after making friends with a few people who did, and i'm glad of it; it's a really fun way to write, and it's a lot easier than forming original characters!

my favourite authors are erin morgenstern, patrick ness, and becky chambers, all for different reasons; erin morgenstern has an incredible way with words and descriptions, patrick ness has a way of simplifying the most complex and awful of emotions, and becky chambers has one of the most tender and considerate approaches to science fiction that i've ever read. they're all wonderful.

i graduated uni almost exactly a year ago actually, and i studied biology! i'm hoping to do a phd in the next few years, maybe focused around microbiomes in agricultural ecosystems, or plant genetics with a focus on climate change resistant crops. nothing's set in stone though, so i'll see what happens in the next few years!

started my 14-day fast tonight since august is gonna be my month. i ordered a rlly nice scale which will be here wednesday which is good cuz i’m tired of having to go to the main bathroom to weigh myself lol. plus that scale is rlly old. anyway i might go longer than 14 days but idk yet since it’s rlly hard for me to get into ketosis :/. i’m gonna start tmrw with some HIIT and try to be super active for the next 3 days to get into ketosis easier. so yea i’m excited. i ate a loooooot tonight though bcz i was tired and i fucking hate myself for it lol. also i’m tryna do 1000 crunches a day like patrick bateman. i did like 60 today so i’m almost 1/10 of the way there lmao. anyway 23 days until school starts and i don’t wanna be a fatass so i’m trying to glow up with this fast and buying some better good clothes after i’m done and getting some makeup as well

my fave fob album is infinity on high! this is the first album i got into fob with so its really important to me. fob is the reason im alive...i became a fan during the hardest time of my life in 2021....i am so grateful i discovered them. But i always KNEW about them bc of emo era stuff, them being in proximity to paramore ofc :) but rlly became a fan in 2021.

my fave fob song of all time is wams :) i just love it so much...the instruments, patrick's vocals are awesome!

The definition of love

I find love to be a complicated thing for me, as i never seem to get it quite right. I either love to much or am being loved to little if not at all. I like to believe i met love in its true form once, but even of that i’m not so sure. Therefore I’m not really sure how love is supposed to be or even feel. I still think love is a multitude of things, good and bad. It comes with gratitude as Well as ignorance, tranquility as Well as chaos. Most of the times it’s confusing, it takes you from one stage to another. It always switches and it’s never the same. You never know what to expect from it and that’s the scary part. It’s tricky and sometimes never feels right. The stages of it mostly include desperation, small moments of peace and quiet but most often then not disappointment either of yourself or of your partner. It’s complete and utter chaos. I’ve read many love stories, Maitrey by Mircea Eliade or Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, yet none of them seem to ever be happily in love. People love to preach about these characters and their undying dedication for one another but they forget Romeo and Juliet both died in pain knowing the other one’s heart is no longer beating, Ion never loved Ana and tormented her the whole novel, while Ela cheated on Stefan and left him to feel unwanted and betrayed. We preach love but most of us have no idea what love is. We give it a meaningless definition using 7 words : an intense, deep affection for another person. But it’s So much more than that, and it’s such a short description for such a tormenting feeling. Love used to be pure, kind and never ending, but most importantly it used to be simple. It used to be a happy feeling, sometimes it still is… if you’re lucky. But most of us aren’t, we lose our lives desperately searching for a feeling that no longer exists in most of us. Partly because we are selfish and hurt, wounded even. Too wounded by the Wars going on in our minds to feel that an arm is missing or that you can no longer see with your right eye because of how blinded you are by the rage and jealousy that have been insterted deep inside of you. In Plato‘s writings, eros is held to be a common desire that seeks transcendental beauty-the particular beauty of an individual reminds us of true beauty that exists in the world of Forms or Ideas (Phaedrus 249E: “he who loves the beautiful is called a lover because he partakes of it.” ). The Platonic-Socratic position maintains that the love we generate for beauty on this earth can never be truly satisfied until we die, but nobody wants to die unhappy or with an unsatisfactory feeling. And although we come alone and go alone most of us still don’t wish to die ‘alone’. So no matter how many Philosophy books we read and how much we strive for superior intelligence, we will never achieve the full understanding of love, not it’s stages or it’s beauty. For we never fully appreciate it when it’s there. So most of us die not knowing love, not knowing how to either love ourselves or others. I Look at the people around me, “oh that one complains to much!”, “ she dressed ridiculous!”, “you talk to much !/ to Little”, So do we rlly know love? I think not. But I do think we pretend to.

Élite Season 4 Review

as an og fan of élite who’s been binging every single season on the day it came out, i watched the fourth season yesterday. here’s my thoughts. obviously includes spoilers for both the new season and some short stories.

the short stories of carmuel and caye/rebe/guzman were the best for me.

the new characters were… uh… how do i put this nicely

ari is the new lu. but less interesting. hated her at first, felt kinda sorry for her at the end though.

mencía is a cardboard copy of miss marina. 🙄

idk how to feel about their dad?? uhhh

i was really hyped for phillipe’s character (idk how to spell it i’m sorry lmao) but man what a letdown.

ya know what… i really liked cayetana this season! i felt neutral about her before but i rlly liked her this season. wish she’d had more screen time.

THEY BUILT UP GUZNADIA FOR THREE SEASONS ONLY FOR THEM TO BREAK UP WITHIN THREE EPISODES AND HAVE GUZMÁN GO AFTER A DIFFERENT CHICK?? W H A T

i liked ander back in season 1… but his character just becomes less and less likeable over the seasons. fight me.

shoutout to samu’s hair this season. hot.

okay but what the fuck was up with all the fucked up relationships this season?? omander. carmuel. guznadia. samu and guzmán. samu and rebe’s friendship, which come on, could’ve gone back to the way it was back in s2.

i cannot stress this enough: FUCK LOVE TRIANGLES. for me it worked in season 1 with carla/polo/christian because they actually seemed to be into polyamory and it actually benefited the fucking plotline around covering up marina’s murder. but that was it. AND THEY HAVE ONE OR TWO EVERY SEASON. it’s exhausting. jesus.

HEY BY THE WAY… what happened to la inspectora from the first three seasons? ma’am?? where you at?? the kids fucked up again and someone nearly died. then someone actually died.

the mystery this season was so fucking dull. like i forgot what was even going on kinda dull. the interrogation scenes were not nearly as compelling as in the previous seasons, they didn’t give you chills, didn’t make you wonder what the hell happened.

you don’t even need a murder mystery to make it interesting. season 2 was my favorite season, and there was no murder mystery — samuel had gone missing. his disappearance and the interrogation scenes were interesting, no one saw the guzmán teamup coming or his relationship with carla. it was exciting and thrilling and this season did not have that even a little bit.

solid plot twist. i’ll give them that. i did not really see that whole armando storyline coming, although i did figure out he had something to do w it because they kept him around for so long.

at the end after guzmán shot that mf in the back i was like NO DONT LEAVE THE BODY?? and then i saw he and samu and someone else i think (i don’t even remember man) dropped his body into the lake. i liked that, reminded me of the trophy.

the fuck is up with the fasion getting more and more extra this season? compare the party outfits from season 1 to the ones we have now. a little extra is good, but now they’re just plain ugly. anyway s1 and s2 fashion >>>

that one scene in the restaurant where guzmán spoke of marina and the way she was as a person and a daughter… that was so well written. i feel like so many people (the writers included) forgot about marina bc she was the first to die and only appeared in season 1, but still. like this teenage boy lost his sister (and so much more) in such a short span of time. i’m glad they at least acknowledged it.

dude… obviously i know that the show isn’t realistic at all but these kids have been through so much. guzmán has been through the worst shit. losing his little sister to murder and then his best friend as well? seeing him die in his fucking arms? and the other kids? they’re still teenagers man. it is beyond wild to think that they’d be as carefree as they were displayed to be this season.

obviously that joke rebe made in the short story about not being able to take any more interrogations and murders and shit was, well, a joke, and it was delivered well, but if you think about it… come ON. they’ve been through hell and back. the show has never been just light-hearted, it has dealt with several serious issues and deaths and murders and things like that. these kids are broken. why couldn’t they have shown more of that? or at least acknowledged it a little? have someone go to fucking therapy??

i thought overall the whole season was underwhelming. kinda boring.

before the season came out, someone said that they didn’t think the show could thrive without carla, lu, nadia, valerio, polo… and i agree now.

i feel like this season had such a different vibe than the previous seasons. not in a good way.

i miss season 1 and 2 man. those seasons had the best mystery, the best vibe, the best cast. i don’t just miss carla, lu, polo, valerio, nadia… i miss christian and nano as well.

even the soundtracks of the previous seasons were better. i’m sorry to sound this negative in the whole review but man i waited so long for the new season only to be disappointed.
