Why must I villain au everything I touch??

This page of little doodles was a lot of fun! I started off just drawing Chloé and then her as a Team Galactic member just sort of happened! I kinda made it up as I went lol, but I got really attached to the concept lol.

Basically it would be dependant on Chloe never getting her Eevee or any other Pokémon, and instead more grew to resent them. Everyone had so many expectations of her growing up to be like her dad, and he paid more attention to pokémon then her (not to mention Goh and Ash seeing him more often then she did), eventually culminating in that one episode where her parents cancel their family trip last minute because of Pokémon work and so Chloe goes to Sinnoh alone.

But instead of meeting Dawn there, she meets Cyrus and Team Galactic. I think Cyrus’s whole ‘human emotion and spirit cause suffering so let’s make a world without it’ thing would resonate with her, and she’d join the team, quickly rising the ranks to Commander (much to the chagrin of the other Commanders lol)

Then the Team Rocket Goh idea is something completely different lol, less of an actual au and more of just a two part episode spanning idea. Basically Ash and Goh run into Giovanni and since he’s a Kanto gym leader they end up giving him a tour of Cerise labs. He’s super impressed by how many Pokémon Gohs caught, and so later has some grunts kidnap him and use Hypnos to make him think he was always a Team Rocket member (think season 5 Carmen Sandiego). So then Ash and Chloe have to team up with Jessie and James to get Goh back to normal before it’s too late!

As you can tell I had a lot of fun with these lol

i think a crucial aspect of the codebreakers dynamic that is sometimes overlooked is how likewise enamoured phil is with étoiles . like étoiles is the god of praising and hyping people up so people tend to focus on how much étoiles thinks phil is the coolest guy ever but do not forget that phil also thinks étoiles is the coolest fucking guy to ever guy he will never pass up an opportunity to talk about how cool and strong and funny étoiles is . their relationship is built on their mutual ‘WOW this guy is awesome’ feelings for one another and it is amazing

So are the Big Bads of Junior Year going to be the Rat Grinders? AKA kids who leveled up 'the normal way' by doing a bunch of quests, grinding, taking on any enemy to get more powerful, but because of the 'luck' and 'opportunities' given to other kids (ie the Bad Kids) aren't being lauded or appreciated like they expected so they're taking it out on the Bad Kids, have taken advantage of it the summer they were gone, and are doing what they can to punish them for 'being rewarded despite failing at what's expected of them, despite actually saving the world'.

I wonder if all the members of Rat Grinders have classes that reflect those of the Bad Kids? We already know they have a rogue and a bard...

#d20 #dimension 20 #fantasy high #fantasy high junior year #this makes perfect sense to me story wise in terms of the past 2 seasons we had heightened tension and drama in the villains faced #from kalvaxas to the nightmare king to the night yorb at the beginning of this season #some pvp (even if the other ps is the dm) makes sense for a stripped back season focused more on relationship building #plus we've been missing the high school rival aspect of fantasy high this is a good focus for junior year #when you are now realizing you are in direct 'competition' with other kids for opps and positions in colleges and unis #and the rat grinders probably see the bad kids as having a leg up on everyone because they were able to save the world multiple times #and could parlay that into bright futures in any college they want like brennan hinted at in ep 3 #this season the rat grinders will try and separate the bad kids and put ultimate stress on them to break them apart or get them kicked out #getting rid of gilear to install a principal more aligned with their views #and yes i absolutely think those four yorkshire terriers in a sweatervest made it so gilear won a cruise #it's a very tracey glick thing to do

I wish I could get into MMOs because Play Game with Friends is fun, but they are just the antithesis to how I normally play games. Mostly I play games to check off all the location markers and look at the game world, I don't want to grind and revisit places 1000 times.

before you adopt an "unusual" pet of any kind, I think it's really, really important to ask yourself why you absolutely need to have this specific species in your house. not just if you think you can take care of this pet, but why exactly you need this kind of pet, instead of a more common domestic animal which 1. will be better understood and researched due to many years of having lived in close quarters with people and 2. will be much, much easier to find proper vet care for.

I grew up with dogs. as a kid, I thought I wanted a pet dragon. seeing as this wish was somewhat difficult to grant for myself, as an adult, I sat down and evaluated what exactly it was kid-me thought would be so awesome about having a dragon for an animal companion.

"well," I told myself, "I really want a pet that's more emotionally guarded than a dog. something that won't love just anyone; I want to feel special by virtue of being 'chosen' by something that is normally aloof and hard to get close to. oh, and I want it to be cool-looking! it has to move all majestically and be sleek and elegant, and I want it to be fun to watch! I'm also drawn to the idea of misunderstood animals that people think are evil, but actually they're sensitive, beautiful, fascinating creatures, and we could learn so much from them if only we could overcome our own biases and see them for the raw, natural sincerity they embody!"

#deerchatter #i know i wax on and on about how cats are the perfect pets etc etc but the thing is that im right #personal bias aside i have to admit i always kind of side-eye ppl who want pet foxes and skunks and whatever else #like im sure some ppl have them as parts of research projects and stuff like that #but a lot of ppl also. dont. lol #making wise and compassionate choices for your pet start before you acquire them. being responsible starts in the planning process #if you ask me pet ownership should be about mutual benefit not just between the owner and pet but between species #sure maybe you'll figure out how to take proper care of a fox. but what about foxes as a species? #what impact will your choice in pet have on the species as a whole? will more people want pet foxes because they see yours? #will more be sold because you got one? does this add or detract from the amount of happy healthy foxes in the world? #im far from an expert on the subject so i don't know the answer but i think these are important questions to ask yourself. #what i do know is there are countless cats in the world who can only thrive under human guardianship. who need homes. #i saw overlap between what i wanted and what this animal species needed. and 4 years later it's still a perfect match #i love my little baby dragon so much

i have literally so many thoughts about that finale but suffice to say that hero of ages > final empire >>>>>>>>> well of ascension (and hero of ages might be one of sandersons best books, period)

#like its Thight between hoa and final empire but i think hoa is better #because the questionable politics that plague mistborn as a whole arent as prevalent in hoa #dont get me wrong - these issues still are present (particularly in spooks plotline) but this is the book about saving the world #sanderson was wise to drop most of the political stuff and just have an epic finale for the trilogy and it fucks #genuinely #instead he focuses on the things from final empire that really stand out to me like the themes of faith and trust and hope and all that #he picked exactly the right characters as pov #sazed's arc is amazing marsh's role is amazing spook's arc is showstopping #breeze goes back to a minor role which is perfect cuz i hate him #elend is more than good this time #like i still have my gripes with his character but hes good in this book AND the vin and elends relationship shines it worked so well #mistborn spoilers #also the prose is better the horror atmosphere is really well executed #lots of really good imagery #incredible action #the vin vs the inquisitors fight really stood out i think it was one of sandersons best fights hell perhaps his BEST fight #much to think about honestly

#barbie #like from what i remember it was just kinda Ominous Box but there didnt seem to be any signs it wouldnt do what will ferrell said it would #and like you can chelk her bailing at the last second up to her being conflicted about going back to barbieland or not but #the fact that she runs as theyre tightening the twist ties makes it read as more to do with fear of the box itself #and like the ceo's goal was to get her back to barbieland anyways and she was primed to want the same thing at that point #because she'd just gone through the Horrible Real World Experiences wringer so even if it was just based on internal #conflict that wouldnt be the time to do it #i think story wise it wouldve been better to either a) cut the box out entirely‚ b) make the ceo Actually Evil and have the box do #worse than just. be a teleport chamber? #(and yeah ik ik like him and his men chase her down which is upsetting to her but he's not like. maliciously #motivated really? like he wasnt looking to kidnap her and hold her prisoner or smth like. she wanted home‚ he wanted to #send her home‚ and then she bails for no discernable reason other than Thats How The Plot Goes) #or c) have her accept the box and have it work to teleport her home but then have the seeds of doubt that have already started in #her grow organically as she lives a few more days in perfect barbieland and is like Wow Actually This Life Sucks For Me #then have ken come back and do his whole takeover while she's distracted by something #for example thats how you could integrate the mom and daughter back in is have her find out they did send her back and #come out to barbieland to investigate thinking it /was/ against her will #idk the box was just weirdly implemented as a plot device imo #like theres a lot of things in the movie that don't make any sense outside of 'you know‚ like how barbies do?' #which sometimes works and sometimes doesnt
