Thoughts on our birb king, Kaja? I just think he's pretty neat, same goes to Uranus and Edith/Phylax.
They're not talked about as much in the outside of the tumblr part of fandom, sadly
I'm more than happy to pay attention those who left out from the community.
Kaja is curious, everything about you is interesting to this ancient birb. He'll study you closely, his gaze might be intense but it's full of adoration. His touch is light, too light in fact. He'll treat you as if you're made of glass. Kaja touches your nose with his beak, it's his way of kissing you.
Uranus is protective, he has a strong sense of protection when it comes to those or things important to him. Uranus is strict when it comes to your safety, he always saw himself as a protector. His huge form looming over yours, he's pretty big. Uranus likes to pat/ruffle your hair as a show of affection.
Edith is caring, she has a big heart and is not afraid to share some of her love to those who accept it. Edith loves physical affection and would be really happy if it's you who holds her hand or caress her cheek. When she blushes, from ears to neck she blushes like crazy. Love is a strong emotion.

The thing that bothers me about Humans are space orcs posts is that they’re always referred to as “Human [blank]”. Either that shouldn’t exist, should exist for one species, each species should have their own unique honorific (like one calls all species by their species name then their name, another calls them “comrade,” another says their phylum, etc), or they should all be calling each other [species] [name]
Like the exchange “thank you Human Ben” “you’re welcome Xenomorph Phylax” should be commonplace.
All I want is internal consistency dawg.

Some Pet Dog Names from Ancient Greece
When the hound has caught the hare, or been otherwise victorious in the course, you should […] pat him with your hand and praise him, kissing his head, and stroking his ears, and speaking to him by name […] for, like men of generous spirit, they love to be praised; and the dog, if not quite tired out [from the hunt] will come up with joy to caress you. (Arrian, On Coursing, XVIII Pg 116 trans. William Dansey)
As many dogs were hunting hounds or guard dogs in Ancient Greece, it followed that the naming convention was dependant on psychology; to name the dog something strong or skilful was to boast of the animals’ superiority to others of its breed, just as it reflected on the owner. There are some well known dogs in Ancient Greek history that many are aware of, namely Cerberus, Odysseus’ faithful dog Argos, and Alexander the Great named a city after his dog Peritas. We are lucky to have two lists of excellent dog names from authors Xenophon and Ovid.
From Xenophon (~ 430 - 355 BC), in his treaties on Hunting, we have the below list:
Give the hounds short names, so as to be able to call to them easily. The following are the right sort: Psyche, Thymus, Porpax, Styrax, Lonchê (Lance), Lochus, Phrura, Phylax (Sentinel/Guardian), Taxis, Xiphon, Phonax, Phlegon, Alcê (Stout), Teuchon, Hyleus, Medas (Crafty), Porthon, Sperchon (Bustler/Hasty), Orgê, Bremon, Hybris, Thallon (Vigorous), Rhomê, Antheus (Blossom), Hebe, Getheus, Chara (Jolly/Ecstasy), Leusson, Augo (Bright), Polys, Bia, Stichon, Spudê, Bryas, Oenas (Blueskin), Sterrus, Craugê, Caenon, Tyrbas, Sthenon, Aether, Actis, Aechmê, Noes (Counsellor), Gnomê, Stibon, Hormê (Impetus). (Xenophon Kynegetikos On Hunting 7.5)
A kind person on Reddit suggested these names could also translate as:
Psyche = Psyche / Spirit
Thymus = Pluck
Porpax = Buckler
Styrax = Spigot
Lonche = Lance
Lochus = Lurcher
Phrura = Watch
Phylax = Keeper
Taxis = Brigade
Xiphon = Fencer
Phonax = Butcher
Phlegon = Blazer
Alce = Prowess
Teuchon = Craftsman
Hyleus = Foster
Medas = Counsellor
Porthon = Spoiler
Sperchon = Hurry
Orge = Fury
Bremon = Growler
Hybris = Riot / Insolence
Thallon = Bloomer
Rhome = Rome / Mighty
Antheus = Blossom
Hebe = Hebe / Youth (Young’n)
Getheus = Hilary / Happy
Chara = Jollity
Leusson = Glazer
Augo = Eyesbright
Polys = Much
Bia = Force
Stichon = Trooper
Spude = Bustle
Bryas = Bubbler
Oenas = Rockdove
Sterrus = Stubborn
Crauge = Yelp
Caenon = Killer
Tyrbas = Strongboy / Riot
Sthenon = Sky
Aether = Sunbeam
Actis = Bodkin
Aechme = Wistful
Noes = Gnome
And from Ovid (~ 43 BC - 17 AD), in his Metamorphosis, of the dogs that attacked their master Actaeon, we have:
First ‘Black-foot’, Melampus, and keen-scented Ichnobates, ‘Tracker’, signal him with baying, Ichnobates out of Crete, Melampus, Sparta. Then others rush at him swift as the wind, ‘Greedy’, Pamphagus, Dorceus, ‘Gazelle’, Oribasos, ‘Mountaineer’, all out of Arcadia: powerful ‘Deerslayer’, Nebrophonos, savage Theron, ‘Whirlwind’, and Laelape, ‘Hunter’. Then swift-footed Pterelas, ‘Wings’, and trail-scenting Agre, ‘Chaser’, fierce Hylaeus, ‘Woody’, lately gored by a boar, the wolf-born Nape, ‘Valley’, Poemenis, the trusty ‘Shepherd’, and Harpyia, ‘Snatcher’, with her two pups. There is thin-flanked Sicyonian Ladon, ‘Catcher’, Dromas, ‘Runner’, ‘Grinder’, Canache, Sticte ‘Spot’, Tigris ‘Tigress’, Alce, ‘Strong’, and white-haired Leucon, ‘Whitey’, and black-haired Asbolus, ‘Soot’. Lacon, ‘Spartan’, follows them, a dog well known for his strength, and strong-running Aëllo, ‘Storm’. Then Thoos, ‘Swift’, and speedy Lycisce, ‘Wolf’, with her brother Cyprius ‘Cyprian’. Next ‘Grasper’, Harpalos, with a distinguishing mark of white, in the centre of his black forehead, ‘Black’, Melaneus, and Lachne, ‘Shaggy’, with hairy pelt, Labros, ‘Fury’, and Argiodus, ‘White-tooth’, born of a Cretan sire and Spartan dam, keen-voiced Hylactor, ‘Barker’ […] First ‘Black-hair’, Melanchaetes, wounds his back, then ‘Killer’, Theridamas, and Oresitrophos, the ‘Climber’, clings to his shoulder. (Ovid Metamorphoses III 206-233 trans. A S Kline)
Theoi has Brookes More’s translation which offers a few English variations on the names.
A few fun ideas to keep in mind if looking to name a new pet in Ancient Greek style.
For I have myself bred up a hound whose eyes are the greyest of grey; a swift, hard-working, courageous, sound-footed dog[…]. He is most gentle, and kindly-affectioned […] as soon as he catches sight of me, showing symptoms of joy, and again trotting on before me. […] He is the constant companion of whichever may be sick; and if he has not seen either of us for only a short time, he jumps up repeatedly by way of salutation, and barks with joy as a greeting. (Arrian, On Coursing, V Pg 78-80 trans. William Dansey)

this is a different kind of post, (& my first post regarding this kind of topic as well!!)
I recently discovered the Misceverse tags and found that it matched some of the behaviors my Eldritch Kintype has. But unfortunately, I couldn’t figure out my place within the unique dynamic labels. Thing Is, I quickly realized that my kind has much different ways of going about dynamics. And so… this post is go go in detail about the main three Eldritch Anachyis’ dynamics and what already preexisting dynamics they represent.
-
Phylax [Replacement for Alpha] (Greek origin: φύλαξ - meaning: guardian, keeper, protector) : this dynamic is for those in the species who act as the colonies protector from outside threats, they are often known for being natural leaders and have strengthened senses to help detect anything out of ordinary. Due to their heightened senses and their desire to protect others, they often are aggressive and territorial in response to anyone outside of their circle. Unlike Trepho’s, their need for protecting others is more intense, which usually keeps them alert at all times.
Trepho [replacement for Omega] (Greek origin: τρέφω - meaning: to nourish, support, nurture): this dynamic refers to colony members who are more tuned with other members' well-being, they are predisposed to soothe and protect members from within, they are more likely to spend their time within the colony caring for the young or simply keeping an eye on everyone around. Unlike Phylax’s, those who are Trepho’s in their colony are less aggressive towards newcomers and more likely to sense malicious intent before it arrives. Trepho’s are highly respected and often take part in decision making for the rest of the colony.
Praus [Replacement for Beta] (Greek origin: πραΰς - meaning: humility, mild, gentle, consideration): This dynamic is a mix between a Trepho and a Phylax, they find great need to keep busy, doing anything from hunting, caring for youngsters and even taking the place of other members while they are unavailable for a time. They are often known to be strong and agile due to their frequent movements around and are often considered to be witty and intelligent. Praus’ are also more known for their more relaxed and thoughtful approach to things, taking the Trepho mindset when dealing with situations, yet still having a more territorial streak when necessary.
-
I love ranting about my kind if you cannot tell! I hope you have a better understanding of how my kind functions and lives. Thank you for reading! ^v^
also if your wondering what dynamic it would make me? I would be classified as a Praus. I feel it definitely fits who I am as apart of my unique species!!

@blaruu made me wanna upload my own art now so uhhh here's the character that got me drawing again.
This is my OC for a Pokemon webcomic I've been following, Tales of Elysium, her name is Areto.
I wanted to share her here but her backstory involves a lot of spoilers for the comic so PLS GO READ IT, IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD! It's got blood and violence and cussing and sexual innuendos but IT'S RLLY GOOD TRUST! anyways backstory beneath the cut
So Areto grew up in Elysium, raised by a Salazzle apothecary named Lacertia. 'Tia was given Areto as a baby when she was gather medicinal herbs and berries near the edges of the Abyss one day. A young Axew boy came running out of the treeline bloodied with a gnarled wounded arm, and in his good arm he carried a baby Jangmo-o.
When Lacertia ran up to help him, he shoved the baby into her arms and said "Please, watch my sister Areto, I have to go help my mom!" before running back into the trees before Lacertia could process what was going on. Baby Areto had a deep gash on her jaw, and was covered in cuts, so she had to run back to the nearest village to get the baby help. She never saw that boy again, and although she looked for years, she never found a trace of their parents.
So Lacertia raised Areto as her own, and she was a ROWDY child. Areto constantly got into fight with older kids, even adults on occasion. The first time she met Lady Rhea, her first instinct was to headbutt the Legendary right in her face. One time while visiting Blossom Village, she even attempted to tackle Solon, or tried to bite Chiron's hand when he was just giving her a checkup.
Growing up, Areto idolized Leon's mother, Luna. She wanted to be just like the Lopunny and join the Phylax once she was old enough, to keep people safe by fighting back the ferals. So Lacertia had her train at the dojo in Blossom village, and once the girl finally evolved, she immediately said goodbye to her mother to go join the Phylax.
Areto joined Team Aspis, a Phylax team led by Attikos the Centiskorch. Her team comprised of Juniper the Thwackey, and Rin the sensu-style Oricorio. The four of them were an incredible team, Attikos was a veteran of the Phylax with years of experience leading teams, he named his team Aspis after a type of shield, hoping that his team would serve as the shield to protect Elysium from feral hordes in the absence of the Laconians.
Areto hoped that she could live up to her childhood hero's legend, and more. She wanted to earn respect for the Phylax as a whole, often joking that they'd be "Almost as revered as the Laconians themselves!"
With her help, Team Aspis was well on that path, Areto had incredible strength and stamina, taking down ferals five times her size and coming out of it ready for more. Her life in paradise was a perfect adventure.
Until the night Aperion set their monsters loose on the people in the current events of the comic. Team Aspis had been in Blossom Village to celebrate Leon's return with everyone else, they arrived shortly after the portals began to open, and wasted no time jumping into action to protect the people.
Fabius' hosts were an enemy unlike the ferals of the Abyss, Attikos was unable to adjust his plan for action in time, and in what was a short but bloody battle, the entire team was slaughtered. All but Areto, who barely managed to fight off the swarm of monsters, only to discover she wasn't able to save her team.
Devastated and broken, Areto returns to the sanctuary with a deep gash in her side. The healers there were able to stop her bleeding, and that's where she is at the time of the comic, watching Rhea and Solon struggle to protect their people.
The tassel she's wearing in her reference sheet isn't something she'll have until this arc in the comic is over, it's made from accessories her team wore. The beads were worn by Rin in her head feathers. The everstone was worn by Juniper who preferred to remain a small and nimble Thwackey. The blue scarf was worn by Attikos, weathered and worn from his years of experience. After the battle, Areto will gather these items from their remains and fashion them into a tassel she can keep with her at all times, to never forget them.

Heyo I'm gonna post a few of the highlights from my smaugust attempt. I'm leaving the prompts open for whatever comes to my mind but if I'm ever clueless, I made a list of all of my Flight Rising dragons that sound good to draw. Here's Castro and Aurel~
I'm kind of coming up with their non in-game traits as I draw, but I generally imagine Castro to be a bit more heavy set than his slightly taller brother (corroborated by in-game info tho, which is cool!). I imagine Aurel to have similarly wild and long hair like his dad Phylax, but he has to keep it shaved.
