Trans Ash and Brock

Ash Ketchum was in his home town of Pallet Town after winning the Pokemon League in Alola. Many friends and family were there to celebrate the victory. Ash's Pokemon were also there enjoying the event by resting, eating, playing, or entertaining guest. It took Ash a while but it was all worth it. Everyone was gathered around Ash who was giving a speech.

“This is the greatest thing to ever happen to me.” Ash said. “It was always my dream to become a champion and now I am one.” Everyone cheered. “I can't thank you all enough for sticking by me the whole way.”

“What are you going to do now?” May asked.

“I'm going to continue my journey and see new places, people, and catch more Pokemon. I may have won a championship but I still need to become a Pokemon Master. I'll do that no matter how long it takes me.”

“When you're old enough have you ever thought about settling down and start a family?” Serena asked with a blush though Ash didn't seem to catch that.

“I'd love do to that. But that's not for a long time. I want to focus on my journey now.”

“Maybe Jessie and James should do the same rather then continue to chase after Pikachu.” Cilan commented. Everyone laughed a bit.

“I think we'll be seeing them blast off for years to come.” Ash replied getting more laughs.

“Hey, Ash.” Brock said. “If you're not ready to settle down yet but know some older women who are just let me know.” However, Misty then took him by the ear dragging him away.

“Look's like you've never change.” Misty sighed.

Any girls here are welcome to marry my brother.” Bonnie said.

“BONNIE!” An embarrassed Clemont yelled.

“Anyway. I'm glad for you all supporting me throughout my journey. As you know a few days ago a rumor went around about me. That rumor was that I am trans. According to Gary Oak the rumor started from a few other guys who were also from Pallet Town like we are.”

“They are. The same ones who started when we did!” Gary yelled.

“Well, some of you already knew the truth so I'll go ahead and say it. The rumor is true. I was born a girl.” Several townsfolk looked around and whispered.

“My birth name was Ashley Ketchum. Not only did I want to be a Pokemon master but also a boy.”

A young Ashley was in the yard playing around. Delia was watching while also on the phone.

“Yes. Ashley just turned 5 not so long ago. She loves Pokemon more than anything and wants to be a trainer like her father. I just wish she had more friends. Her only friend is Gary Oak. Maybe they'll travel together when they're older. Maybe even date.”

Ashley was quite different though. She preferred getting rough over staying clean. One thing she wanted was shorter hair.

“Can I have a haircut, mom?”

“Why do you want a haircut?” Delia asked.

“I want it to look like Gary's. I hate it being long like this. It gets in the way all the time. When I'm a trainer that will distract me when I'm battling.”

“But if we cut it short people think think you're a boy.”

“I don't care!” Ashley pouted.

“Well, okay.”

She grabbed a pair of scissors and a comb and started cutting away. She didn't want it to be a copy of Gary's. It had to be different enough to give Ashley an image. After she was done she grabbed a mirror.

“How's this?”

“It looks great, mom! Thanks. I'm going to show Gary.” With that Ashley ran off.

Ashley also preferred boys clothes over girls clothes. So she got her mom to take her to a store to buy some.

“Remember, Ashley. We can't buy too much.”

'I know. Just a few so I don't have to wear dresses or shirts all the time.” Ash got a few clothes. His favorites were a yellow shirt that had a red stripe and some blue shorts. They weren't unique or anything but he liked them for it's simpleness. They were still boys clothes in the end.

One day Ashley and Gary were pretending to have a Pokemon battle in the backyard.

“All right, Bulbasaur!” Ashley yelled. “Hit it with a razer leaf.”

“Get in the safety of your shell, Shirtle! It will protect you a little.”

“It can't be protected from this. Bulbasaur use whirlwind on that sitting duck!”

“Good move, Ashley but it can't deflect this. Squirtle use body slam!”

“Hey! Your Squirtle can't know body slam yet!”

“Yes it can. My Squirtle is a special Squirtle because it's from my grandfather.”

“Professor Oak!” Ash whined.

“You two play nicely.” Professor Oak said barely paying attention.

“Looks like I win.” Gary gloated. Ashley rolled her eyes.

“Gary can I tell you something.”

“No rematches.”

“No, it's not that. It's just I've been thinking about my name. I don't like it. Can you call me just Ash instead.” Gary raised an eyebrow but nodded.

“Umm, sure. Why though?”

“I think I'm suppose to be a boy. But don't tell anyone okay.” Gary nodded again.

One day Ash was watching TV when a show about trainers came on. One segment was on a trainer named Brock.

“We'll here with 10 year old Brock of Pewter City. So Brock you want to be a Pokemon Breeder?” The boy nodded.

“Yes. Though a lot of people think I might have a shot at the gym one day. I got an Onix not to long ago and we're already best friends.

“And is it true you were born female?” Brock nodded again.

“I knew I was a boy for a while enough. So I changed my identity to that of a boy.”

“That's interesting.”

“If you're not busy later how would you like to go out out with me.” This made the reporter sweatdrop.

“Ummmm call me in 8 years.”

This got Ash thinking maybe she was actually a boy. After some hard thought he decided he was. He then told his mom.

“I'm not your daughter I'm your son. I'm not Ashley I'm Ash. Not only do I want to be a Pokemon master but I also want to be the perfect son too.”

“Oh, Ash.” Delia hugged him.

Back in the present Ash concluded his story.

“So it's all true. I was born a girl named Ashley but I'm now a boy named Ash. I have Brock to thank for that. If it wasn't for you I might have never truly found out.”

“I never knew, Ash.”

“Now you do. Thank you.”

“I don't know what to say but thank you.”

Ash sent up and shook Brocks hand. After mostly everyone left the two said goodbye.

“Thanks for that speech, Ash. If you never need anything I'll be there for you.”

“Thanks Brock. Same to you.”

“And seriously if you know any single women I'm available. Just tell them...” But before he could finish Misty pulled his ear again.

“Enough all ready!” Misty yelled as Brock yipped in pain making Ash laugh.

Random post but it’s 1:23 AM and I feel like saying some random stuff

so younger me was kinda dumb I think? I’m not saying this in “I was so stupid, I had no brain, pea-sized brain, couldn’t even do 1+1” dumb, I’m saying “did so much stuff before that I did not realize until years later” dumb. I think the word’s ignorant but idk :T

but anyways I have this Pikachu plushie, right? Angy face, angy pose, but the main detail: rectangular-like tail. However, younger me refused to say this was a male Pikachu, even though the tail said so. I remember when my mom asked me why I argued this Pikachu to be a girl, I stated “This Pikachu was always a girl, it was just born with the wrong tail,” or something around those lines, I can’t remember what I said word-for-word.

But here’s the thing, younger me was so dumb (or ignorant), that I didn’t know that gay didn’t mean happy, I thought LGBT only meant “Luigi got big tiddies”, and I didn’t know that people who didn’t exactly fit into the gender norm (intersex, trans, nb, etc.) existed. But I had this Pikachu, who was either trans or intersex because of my vague lore. AND I LITERALLY JUST REALIZED IT

7. Leon: Wow!! If our roles were reversed, then Leon would move away from the Galar region to Kanto as a child while I would become Champion! Interesting! He'd want to go back to the Galar region because he knows deep in his heart that the Kanto region is not where he belongs rather than wanting to rekindle our friendship. When he sees that I became Champion, man, he'd be my biggest fan X3 I like to think that he went to Postwick to revive some memories and sees me going back home and we end up rekindling our friendship. Romantic/sexual tension starts building up and he decides to take on the Gym Challenge to reach me. When our match is announced a tie, Leon's the one who starts complimenting me and telling me how much he missed me. He says he thought the reason he returned to Galar was to come back to the place where he belonged and that is true, but not the Galar region, but next to me. The rest is history ;3

Raihan: Raihan as a Gym Trainer and me as a Gym Leader is interesting. I would have succeeded in taking Opal's position as Gym Leader (Bede who?) and the lead baker. I think the way Raihan and I would meet would be if he went to Ballonlea for a pastry and finds out that I'm the Gym Leader AND the lead baker! And then he starts flirting with me and we start getting closer ;3

9. Leon would run a personal blog about positivity, for Pokemon and people alike, information and observations on them, updates on his life, like me and his children we have, pictures and food. Things are neatly tagged and he'd tag me in cute things and even talk about "My wife would love this". He would ignore anon hate, block and move on.

Raihan would run a blog about mythology! Things about dragons and history! He would respond passive-aggressively to anon hate, then block and move on. He'd also post pictures and selfies and would tag me in food/pastries he encounters.

Piers would run a music blog, obviously. Songs, artists, musicians, rock n' roll and all that jazz, no pun intended. He would tag his triplets in Beatles and Queen stuff and tag his daughter in trans rights things, asking her questions and stuff. Speaking of which, lemme tell you he would also not appreciate the way Tumblr treats straight trans people and all the woke/SJW culture. He would ROAST the anon haters with the best case of Brutal Honesty in existence. He would tag me in cats and would tease me about Freddie Mercury stuff SO MUCH.

Help me decide on a redraw!

I'm looking through a very old sketchbook, back from the early 20-teens. There's a lot of well loved cringe in there, and some stuff I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of, but that is neither here nor there. I am in the mood to do a redraw and want tumblr's help deciding who to start with.

Here are your choices:

I was thinking about scribbling out the writing, but I can live with my cringe. From top left to right:

1. Sceelie. She's an old OC. Maybe she needs a different name.

2. Alice. Another OC. I used to draw her a bunch. She's a demon and she's sexy, what more can I say?

3. Idk who this is but she's pointing a gun at someone for saying she's cute (probably in a not-so-nice way). Iconic behavior.

4. Pikachu girl. Has no right being so cute. Also she's trans I think. I didn't decide that when I made her, but I've decided that now based on her tail.

5. Socks and sandals girl. I dont know what I was thinking. But those weapons look cool.

6. Polka dot outfit of weirdness. I love her. This outfit rules, and no one can convince me otherwise.

well trevor's getting eliminated first round. rip.

i do think the angsty badgeless guy is interesting just because it's the first time the perspective of someone who didn't get all their badges in time hasn't really been shown before. even if he is kind of a footnote (unless it happened in os or something and I forgot)

and paralleling ash's battle against that guy with trevor's battle is fun

this has nothing to do with the battle & it's also not really utilized by the anime but it's interesting to think about how draco meteor is kind of an attack associated with friendship… it doesn't rely on it like moves like Return, but typically it can only be taught in the games once you have high friendship with a dragon-type. so when someone used it, it kind of implies a lot about their friendship with their pokémon

oh the stronger-stronger mantra is back. also i guess it's fitting since others already tossed out mega evolution but it's still kind of suprising he leans on bond phenomenon so early into the tournament

ofc they describe ash as a "star trainer". this poor kid's never getting out of the limelight in the kalos region

why does it move onto the semi-finals so quickly… well it's a lot of full battles so i guess it makes sense. since a full battle takes up a whole episode

anyways i remember tierno's battle being a lot of fun to watch so I'm looking forward to this!! i still feel bad he can't be a performer 'cause he would sweep

but tierno's raichu was also male…?? gay king tierno's raichu??? (i looked it up & bulbapedia counts this as an error & apparently the episode is edited on at least hulu of japan to take a notch out of raichu's tail. so it's simultaneously gay king raichu AND trans queen raichu??? that's awesome. people need to post about this instead of pikachu with a heart tail from the theatre troupe episode)

so knowing blastoise was on its last legs, he had it use a set-up move for his next pokémon (raichu, I'm assuming it's set-up for thunder). awesome (i was right about thunder. here's the thing… mega sceptile's ability is lightning rod… ←knows this very well from raising a mega sceptile just to try and make SOS chaining dedenne easier (←it did not get easier)) why does mega sceptile have lightning rod in the first place though… it already has double resistance to electricity as a grass- and dragon-type. oh, right, it's because VGC is doubles. you can use it to defend a teammate.

i like goodra but it's so mean that they point out he has the option of transferring in a lab pokémon

I FORGOT HAWLUCHA DRESSES UP FOR THIS MATCH!!!! so awesome aw he wasn't even in the battle for more than a few minutes. sad & fail. so yeah as an adaptation of its ability slaking is essentially a "charge attack"… it sits around for a while, but when it does finally attack, it's extremely strong.

it is kinda wild how everything sawyer does is a counter to ash's pokémon. it makes for an interesting battle for sure, but it's also kinda like… this kid needs to get a hobby…

pikachu brings the first fun usage of the battlefield terrain

so to prevent pikachu from using the battlefield in a fun way, he chops down every tree. that makes sense. (i wonder if the battlefield shows up again in the finals… it probably does but it also seems like a huge pain to repair)

it's the kind of battle that's incredibly fun to watch but not a lot to say. they put all the animation into this part of the battle.

ah it's the league intermission episode of course pancham and chespin having a little spat is the inciting incident oh but mairin is here so it's kind of important

it's a throwaway line but that is actually interesting… it makes sense gyms would close during the league since you don't really want people picking up badges until the next circuit starts

i do like that after All Of This pikachu becomes extremely suspicious of eerie businessmen in the future

crunch not phasing pikachu when it makes contact with iron tail is an example of type match-ups affecting moves? (does steel still resist dark?)

HAWLUCHA POPPED OUT JUST TO CHECK ON IT [NOIVERN] 🥲 and then he lets it get revenge on the pokémon that knocked out its kid. poetic cinema hooray hawlucha sweep also im not sure what hawlucha glowing red is. just a metaphor/a way to show it's getting heated up? (i thought it could be an ability, but none suit what's happening. also seems like bide, but hawlucha doesn't know that iirc?)

AND A BISHARP… we need to ban alain from cool pokémon speaking of hawlucha's ability, it definitely isn't limber. because it got paralyzed.

AND THEN HE EVEN HAS A POKÉMON THAT'S ONLY COOL TO ME (UNFEZANT) CAN WE KICK THIS GUY OUT OF THE LEAGUE. at least it's only unfezant M tho that one's not as cool as F oh yay a birds battle

here's the part where alain starts mirroring charizard's movements. oh wait that was also the end of the battle. this was more anti-climatic than i remembered

a lot of people point out that water shuriken had the type advantage in the last exchange of moves, but that's entirely untrue due to mega charziard X being part dragon-type. it was a neutral match-up on both sides.

I love and miss them and removing them from this movie was its biggest flaw. Except the one played by TI because TI is a scumbag.

As much as everyone, especially my dad, loves Paul Rudd, I don’t buy him in this movie as a dramatic actor. Probably has to do with the tropey writing and stuff more than Paul’s actual chops but there’s no small parts etc. this movie just tried so hard to be taken seriously that gave up its pedestrian, relatable humor — the thing that made the first two movies so great, and the thing that attaches Paul Rudd to this character — and replaced it with contrived and tropey drama. It felt sometimes like Paul Rudd was trying to imitate Generic Action Hero, which he isn’t great at and nobody wants. Highlights of his performance include: the end where he’s like “oh shit did I just mess everything up? No I didn’t, denial time!”, the part where all his “possibilities” pile on each other all saying “Cassie” because they work together driven by the purity of a father’s love.

why did they recast her. I loved Emma Fuhrmann in Endgame and felt really bad when she only learned she has been replaced through comiccon/d23/etc. From a casting perspective, I get it; Fuhrmann was meant to fill a small role in a huge movie, so they probably recast when the part became much more significant (setting up for a young avengers movie). But Kathryn is just not very good. TBF the only other movie I’ve seen her in was Detective Pikachu in which she was much worse. Not sure if it’s the acting or the writing that hurts Cassie more. But her character in this is basically “I am an activist that cares about people” like that’s great in real life but I want to be invested in her and I’m not

Literally did nothing but effective altruism in the beginning of the movie, what a downgrade

Hank

By far the character with the best upgrade in this movie. From movies 1-3, he’s gone through great character development, learning to respect Scott and Hope in their own right. He’s also gradually gone from dry exposition dumper (1) to once-in-a-while joke-maker (2) to “summoned an ant army to defeat a multiversal conqueror”/nerdy/perhaps even autistic about ants (3). I love when he admitted to reading Scott’s book: “every goddamn word”, said both proudly and teasingly.

Kang

Current legal shit aside, I was not expecting to hate him this much. I didn't like Majors in Loki, but I figured that had to do with the direction, not the acting chops of Majors himself. When I saw the reviews for this movie, which generally sold Majors as the film's only merit, I was expecting something great from his performance. Instead, we got Majors doing what I guess was either his best Morgan Freeman impression or a really bad trans-atlantic/English accent (posh vowels and clipped t's). Whatever he was trying to do simply did not work for me. The Council of Kangs post-credit scene looked to me like a bunch of Party City costumes.

Jentorra

Played by Katy O’Brien, who I know from my brief stint watching Black Lightning and who gave an equally meh performance in The Mandalorian S3. The one thing I like about this character, who is otherwise a pretty basic stoic/traumatized my-entire-species-died-and-now-I-am-a-badass-warrior-woman, is her dynamic with Cassie. Yes, Hope could have been Cassie’s female role model, and she basically did nothing in this movie, so that’s kinda sad. But there’s something nice about the Jentorra and Cassie finding what they need in life from each other: Cassie a strong voice for justice and a girlboss internship, and Jentorra a piece of innocence and hope she was too jaded to hold onto. I wish we explored that a bit more.

MODOK

If I read any comics featuring MODOK, or even watched the Patton Oswalt MODOK show, I’m sure I would hate Darren/MODOK. And in a lot of ways I do. But he works most of the time as comic relief, half-satirizing his own role as the old enemy that "came back better than ever!" It never got old when he would introduce himself, a main character would be like "Darren?" and he'd be like "Not anymore! I've been reborn as a new and improved version of myself! mwahaha!" And the main character would be like "Umm improved, sure." I loved when Scott was comming him and he'd only answer to MODOK.

Re: the redemption arc. Before watching the movie, I saw a leaked screenshot of the death scene where he says “at least I died an avenger.” That spoiled the MODOK=Darren reveal + death scene + redemption arc for me, but I was mostly upset that the movie would do something so blatantly cheesy with the dying scene. When I saw the movie, I was mostly glad that the scene wasn't meant to be taken seriously; that monologue is treated as self-righteous rather than earnest. However the redemption arc still does kind of come out of nowhere and it's lame.

Other Minor Characters

I liked Bill Murray as a sleazebag that reeeeally wants to give Hank the impression that he slept with his wife. I liked the group of weirdos fighting against Kang, and the "drink the ooze" scene was cute. Lowkey wish Scott and Hope ended up trapped in the Quantum Realm and became benevolent rulers for a few years. Overall, meh movie, would not watch again. Hope the fanfic is better.
