GAME OVER I

"I can't faint... The way I did before..."

Se acabó. Declaró el comienzo del fin. El JUICIO DIVINO me fue otorgado. Las bendiciones son suficientes. Mi existencia finalmente cobra sentido cuando sé y anhelo que sea ésta la última. La última vez. Nadie sabe cuándo es su última vuelta al sol, planetario, planal...astral... El último beso ... El último amor... O si?

Definitivamente SI. SE SABE PORQUE SE ELIJE. De aquí que ya todo lo que en anteriores vidas me propuse, a desarrollar, en esta vida será. Con esta me basta y me sobra. Y será la última vez que elijo esto. Este cuerpo, está forma física. La disfruto porque se que ya no volverá. Tengo esta seguridad porque sé que ya se cumplió mí ciclo, y mí libre albedrío así me lo permite. Me permite abandonar esta carrera de la vida en este tipo de plano, porque el umbral del dolor ya ha sido superado, más que alcanzando. Y esto me da la fuerza y la autoestima necesarias para embarcarme en este viaje final.

Ya no hay pactos. No más promesas. Le doy cierre a las falsas esperanzas, para darle paso a las verdaderas realidades. Abandono el lamento, los tal veces, los quizás... Se los regalo, no sólo que no los necesito, nunca los quise. Amo lo que es. Se ama lo que se ama. Y lo que no, pasa a mayores, al universo, lo que tengo me alcanza, y lo que no, es porque no es para mí.

Lo que me pertenece, está conmigo. Los que son mí familia, siempre lo serán. Lo demás: regidos por sus propios propósitos y los misterios del cosmos.

Ya no habrán lágrimas de tristeza extrema, un alma que se cura de su noche oscura, ya sólo le queda por encontrar la paz: que es, el equilibrio y la equidad, en profunda armonía con su misión. Me libero de toda atadura terrenal, de todo vínculo tóxico, de todo lo que ya no favorece a la completa evolución. La trascendencia es mí norte. Y mí destino sólo yace en mi propia consciencia.

Overview

Once a vibrant and efficient space, the Prospae System was torn apart by a war fought between the gods, leaving the mortals that they had previously co-existed with to do nothing but watch on in terror. Now, over half a century later, the system is cleaved in two; the gods being banished by their own kind to live out their days fighting amongst themselves in whatever new realms they had created. The mortals, however, rebuilt. Thanks to some final sacrifices of benevolent deities, they were able to survive on floating sectors of the planets that had been torn apart by the devastation. These civilisations, whole planets now reduced to chunks of rocks now referred to as planes, live in harmony. Some planes stand independent, others exist united, but all agree that no further destruction can be afforded. Or so most would have you believe.

The United Planes of Darlangen, or simply Darlangen to most, is the third closest Planal Group to the Uncanny Divide, a magical border that seems to separate mortals from gods. Consisting of five planes, it is an extraordinarily diverse area built from the remains of seemingly contrasting planets, yet when put together it thrives.

Amialbrano

At a first glance, Amialbrano looks to be the most primitive of all the planes of Darlangen, however this could not be further from the truth. Originally predominantly populated by those of elven blood, the plane (which in fact consists of two bodies of land) is now home to a variety of individuals with one thing in common: magic. The residents of Amialbrano all rely on the energy they harness magically from nature and have sculpted their society from what nature provides them. Homes built into dense jungles also function as the primary food source for these folk, with an understanding of how much can be taken before the land (and therefore their wellbeing) is compromised. While technology from other planes is imported, the majority of the work done here is done with the assistance of magic. Weaponry is automated thanks to a harnessing of the land’s renewable energy, and defences are specially grown from barbed plants who, in return for providing safety from wild animals, are tended to and nurtured as if the own kin of the inhabitants.

Amialbrano is governed on a local scale, with very few rules being imposed on a national level. While there aren’t necessarily strict laws to be followed here, the Natural Code is highly significant to most, and any who violate this code are seen as traitors. While most minor offences are forgiven in a community-led session, the worst offenders are exiled and sent out to survive on their own, without the protection of the land.

Charollen

A stark contrast to the lush greenery of Amialbrano, Charollen’s grey landscape can seem uninviting. Vast areas lay uninhabited due to difficult terrain, and the tundra biomes of the southern counties are treacherously cold in the winter months. Despite this, the plane is one of the most densely populated of any in the proximity to Darlangen, and the majority of the residents moved after the war. A heavily industrious land, Charollen prides its use of steam power to fuel their day to day lives. Trains and trams run throughout most of the major cities, and bustling crowds can be seen at the end of the day unwinding in large steampunk-like inns and restaurants. While they are renowned for being hugely hardworking people, their wide variety of cultures makes for plenty of holidays to be celebrated, and no expenses are spared when it comes to festivals here. This diversity also means that certain areas are more heavily influenced by other cultures. While gnomish culture is a staple of traditional Charollen life, the gnomes of the Eilean Bholcan in southern Charollen prefer to follow Ongarkon gnomish traditions. The Fighting and Armourer’s Guilds are thus both located in the Eilean Bholcan county. Similarly, the northernmost section of the Linnecol county is densely populated by immigrants from Amialbrano, and so their culture is a fascinating fusion of steam power and natural magics.

Charollen’s main seat of government is located in its capital, Lonbhaile, and has seated a council of influential families since the war ended. The rule is fair, and while the rich do live much more lavish lives than most, even the poorest in society are able to exist comfortably for the most part.

Ongarkon

Ongarkon is known to many as simply being heavily militarised, but this vast oversimplification means that people often miss the rich culture of the plane. While its population is the least diverse, consisting mostly of the native human inhabitants of the planet it had once been, their devotion to an ordered military provides them with something realistic to strive for. Disheartened by the reality of gods they instead look towards themselves in a celebration of their own design. Monthly parades are held in celebration of different successes of the human design, and each person lives their life in the moment as a way of showing gratitude for still being alive. Many of their forms of celebration may appear unseemly from an outside perspective, but their dedication to the honouring of the human form means that spirits are high even in mundane day to day life.

The government of Ongarkon is headed by a single figure, elected in by the citizens of the plane. They surround themselves with a council, typically consisting of high-ranking military officers and strategists, with the occasional businessman seeing a seat at the table. The plane is more highly policed than others to ensure that all inhabitants are doing their duty to serve a functional role in society, and all who are able are called up for mandatory military training for a minimum of six months when they come of age.

Naming conventions derived from Arabic dialects (with the army structure of Ongarkon mirroring that of the Ottoman Empire).

Derasoldor

The two smallest planes in all of Darlangen, Derasoldor and Konaredamo are also the only two to share a planet of origin. Despite this, the pair are vastly different, and celebrate their differences while still keeping their unique bond with each other. Historically, the islands that make up Konaredamo were once seen as part of Derasoldor, but a unanimous decision was made to separate the two in order to signify the importance of both aspects of their cultures. Derasoldor is home to philosophers and produces the majority of the literature that can be found throughout Darlangen. Great thinkers sit in tall but sparce cities, with the architecture of the towering structures providing an insight into the ancient gods who had once favoured this of all mortal areas to spend their time. Large debate halls are filled almost daily to discuss issues, ranging from important political theory to highly theoretical discussions of morality and the untapped potential of some energies.

All decisions made in Derasoldor are made through debate. Each city will hold its own debate before sending representatives to the capital for a final verdict. While these can last months, the intense deliberation done means that any potential issue or outcome has likely been foreseen, and problems mitigated. Some of these debates are even seen as a form of entertainment for many inhabitants, with particularly influential scholars being regarded as local heroes.

Konaredamo

Konaredamo, in a contrast to Derasoldor, is a hub for the arts. Great ornate structures line the landscape of these islands, landmarks depicting history and myth alike. Named after acclaimed playwright Konare, bards and poets tell of heroic legends who rebuilt the civilisations that we see today, and artists depict the gods who acted to save the mortals of this near-damned system. Many come to Konaredamo to seek peace of mind and clarity in hard times, and the locals are known for being extremely welcoming to anyone, no matter who or why they are there.

Konaredamo, despite its independence, often follows the same rulings as Derasoldor, with very few deviations from this rule. However, due to their more laid-back culture, some areas have a reputation for being homes to criminal organisations exploiting the lack of any real authority to stop their activities.
