hi!! new pinned post, because the last one had gotten long again-- if you want to read previous posts, here's the first one, here's the second one. the tl;dr from those is that my dad got wrongfully imprisoned abruptly, our place was raided, the cops broke a bunch of shit and took a bunch of our things and still haven't returned them, they left all the broken things for us to spend money in repairing, we had to spend money on a lawyer, trips to visit him, new clothes, medicine and food for him in jail, etc. it was a mess, way more details in both posts. he's back home now, with an ankle monitor because technically his case isn't being investigated yet, they haven't done anything about it at all, the case hasn't moved one ounce lmao it's great, always trust the judicial system and cops!! ugh, anyway!

we found a therapist for my dad who can help her deal with all the stuff he had to deal with while in prison, all the bullying, the depression, the starving, the separation, etc. he needs to get a bunch of other medical appointments, has to get surgery, among other things, but for now things are much better on that front. that being said, he did lose his job and my old redbubble account got suspended without a warning months ago, plus argentina's economy is... really bad right now. food prices rise every day, public transportation prices went up like a 200% in a couple of weeks, salaries are low and stuck there, subsidies are gone, the local peso keeps falling, we have an absolute psychopath as a president who spends more time insulting or threatening anyone who oppose him than caring about people. it's a disaster. for updates on argentina in english, this person on twitter makes very good informative threads if you're interested.

anyway, i used to make around 30/40 dollars a month in redbubble, and that used to help adding up to the donations i got here, and it got suspended, so now i make like 1/2 dollars on teepublic monthly. so... it's a huge loss. there's a lot of things me and my mom are in charge of paying-- groceries, power and water and gas, medicine (she's diabetic, i have some sort of chronic sinusitis), our dog and cat's food and medicines, wifi, phone bills, public transportation, healthcare, my dad's new therapist... so, you know, i really need anything people can donate. even if it's just a single dollar, literally any amount helps. i love fashion so much and i love this blog, i work really hard on it even when my brain says no, and i really appreciate how much you guys love it too. i love seeing people discover new styles, new designers, new things to be inspired by. so, yeah... i'm never going anywhere, but i do need help to basically stay afloat.

This Week in BL - When good chemistry goes bad

May 2023 Wk 3 

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

La Pluie (Sat iQIYI) ep 4 of 10 - yes it jumped to the top of the standings, the kiss was THAT good, best of the year so far. So soft and yet so sweet and yearning and with a proper chemistry - body, breath, everything. Also... there was plot happening this ep, but who cares about that? Some additional thoughts, now my brain has rebooted from that kiss. I do suspect Pat of still being a player: he is awful smooth, and he may want revenge for being jacked along for 2 years (I would). Ep 4 is early for a kiss like that, which means pacing-wise we may be in for a separation/break up around ep 8. 

Step By Step (Thai Tues WeTV & Gaga) ep 5 of 10 (MDL still says 12, but Gaga still says 10) - Pat, dear, your gay is squirting all over our screens. Meanwhile… That is the smallest presidential suite bed I’ve ever seen. Lucky for us of course. And lucky for Jeng. Me with the side dishes = UH OH. 

Our Skyy 2 (My School President) eps 9-10 - Alt reality where Tinn is in charge of the music club and Gun is the school president with the crush. Basically, it’s an excuse for them to play each others’ parts (which just highlighted how well they were cast, originally). Ultimately, Gemini is a better piner, and Fourth is a better tsundere. Although the reversed “holding it over his head” was v funny & Fourth IS a decent seme. (I also realized what I like so much about Fourth, like Saint he’s one of those rare full body actors.) Sound was a great uke and I loved how they changed his makeup for the role (did you notice?). TiwPor were as adorably ridiculous as ever. I liked the minor baby pairing for Aun, too. Still my NO SIGNING holds (although there was lots of dancing to counterbalance). In the end, all this really did was make me wanna rewatch the original. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. FYI The MV was a parody of HCTM, BB, 1k*. 8/10 

A Boss and a Babe (Fri YouTube) ep 12fin - It was a cute sappy ending for a cute-ish sappy-ish show. I cannot abide that the mom who condoned the rape of her daughter got forgiven. No. Stop it GMMTV. Review below. 

The Promise (Thai Weds YT & WeTV) ep 9 of 10 - I'm in trouble when I'm rooting for everybody BUT the main couple. I guess Nan doesn’t have a NO SINGING policy. Also I guess Nan was waiting for Phu all along? This show. ALSO could we not have just ended it here? 

Past-senger (Thai Weds Gaga) ep 11 of 12 eps - I don’t understand. What? Where did all these new characters come from? Do we care about the hets? Not even slightly. What is anyone doing? What’s going on? do I care abotu anyone anymore? No. Please make it stop. 

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 7 of 10 - OMG so adorable, so repressed, so reserved, so soft, so awkward, so special. Heart melting. Also. Hungry. The WAY Minoru looks at Yutaka when he’s eating (now that he knows the history). The way we got to see the exact moment that Minoru realizes he is in love. Perfection. 

Star Struck (Korea iQIYI & Gaga) ep 1-2 of 8 - Zuho (Kpop SF9 - noted good egg) opposite rookie actor Kim In Sung (the one with the crush). icky is being weird about it but it looks like Gaga also picked it up? Depends on your territory I suppose. Anygay: Friends since childhood, jock/nerd, puppy/cat and I sense bi-himbo confusion and pining introvert gay. There’s family strife plus class issues and it has some interesting things to say already about the nature of friendship, romance, and jealousy. I like it, weirdly reminds me of something that might have come out of China. Not early CBL, but some of the later stuff that was censored but hearkened to Addicted. This has the feel of what China could have made now (were things politically different). Because of this feel, I’m not confident in this being an HEA or even a true BL but it is interesting enough for me to bump it way up the ranks. 

Happy Merry Ending (Korea Thurs Gaga) eps 7-8fin - I get why SJ pushed JH away, but I kinda agree that SJ is too much work. Abused or not, I wouldn’t put in the damn effort - so I guess I’m glad SJ took a year off to figure his shizz out? Far be it from me to agree with a year break in a Kdrama, tho. I didn’t even mind that they were separated most of these 2 eps: it was nice to see a Seme told no, who actually backed off and did as he was told. Plus the running of the gays (how Japan of you SK). I’m assuming that this was the final episode and that Viki thinking that there are 2 more is bonkers? Because this felt like a finale. For me this one had a stronger finish than any other aspect of the show (odd when the couple spent the bulk of it apart). Oh! And someone give Shin Myung Sung (the surfer bestie) his own damn BL, m’kay? Review below.

Love Mate (Korea Thurs Viki) eps 5-6 of 8 - Longest elevator ride in the world. Honorifics discussion! My favorite! And, “there is only one bed but they slept together on the floor anyway” trope. A BL staple. Also the tie/lanyard grab. Another fav. Still pushy puppy stalker remains creepy manipulative obsessive warped hotness. Basically KBL version of trash and… I’m into it. We all got our kinks, I guess. 

Vian the series (Vietnam YouTube ) - Such a cat. I’m reminded of Milk. It’s cute. They cute. I like it.

Naked Dinner AKA Zenra Meshi (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 6 of 12 - So is the nude dining meant to be some kind of weird allegory for repressed gayness?

My Story (Pinoy Sat YouTube) 10 eps - I bounced at ep 4. Someone will tell me if I should bother with the rest.

The Day I Loved You (Pinoy YouTube) eps 6-7 of 10 - Terminal illness for the sunshine. I bounced at ep 6. DNF.

Love Syndrome finished its run on WeTV (I stopped at ep 2) - anyone wanna weight in with thoughts on the ending and whether I should binge or not? I do love Lee Long Shi.

Happy Merry Ending - Stars Lee Dong Won (KNK) as an ex-idol turned wedding singer with an abusive ex and a panic disorder + the sunshine pianist who falls in love with him. Timid tsundere & sweetheart gay is an interesting match. They’re gentle together, almost kindly and there is a calm ache to their pairing. However, it lost its way as a BL, being more about the main character’s struggle than the romance. It had a strong finish but ultimately the premise & characters meant this was never going to be one of my favorites. 8/10  

A Boss and a Babe - With an inconsistent narrative and self-sabotaging characters this was not the Thai BL office romance I was hoping for. I spent most if it feeling manipulated without good reason and sorry for ForceBook. They did their best with a shoddy script (AGAIN!) and none of its flaws were their fault. This show was all over the place and so am I about it. It’s better than Enchanté but that’s not really saying much. 7/10 I guess

Headcanon time, or well this could be taken as just an interesting idea that’s been floating in my head.

I like the idea that Sonic is actually, legal documentation and all, Tails’ legal guardian. But how did that happen they’re both minors?

Answer: Vanilla helped them.

I just have this idea that when they first meet Vanilla shes working as the secretary at her villages town hall. And not like a take notes and get coffee secretary but a “your name may be on the building but I run this place” kind of secretary. We see this take charge side of when she waltz’s in and just runs the show for the Team Chaotix in Sonic idw issue 31, my girl just walks in and it’s her rodeo now. Plus in issue 37 after the whole White Park chateau incident Amy and Rouge are both kinda scared of her.

Back to topic though, when she first meets them Sonic and Tails are still pretty young. (My personal idea is that they met her when Sonic was 11 and Tails was 4 and by the time they meet her they’ve already been together for a while now, like months to almost a year) And at that point a lot of people have tried to separate Sonic and Tails and put them in homes cause they are so young. Neither of them were having any of it though and really how to you stop them from leaving? One can run faster than the speed of sound, the other can fly and they have a plane.

So they save her village but the last town they helped was the final straw for Sonic with people trying to take Tails away from him. So Vanilla seems nice enough to him and she works for the government so he asks her how he can make himself legally in charge of Tails so people stop trying to take him (mostly Tails the one that let Sonic know about kids needing someone older than them in charge of them legally and Sonic takes that and is like “well I’m older so I can be in charge of Tails, but what’s this legality thing your talking about Tails?”).

Vanilla at first is hesitant to help them cause she herself is a new mom at this point and these are two homeless orphaned children, surely they need some kind of adult supervision. But then she thinks on it and yeah it may not be 100% the best idea having two children running around with no adult but they clearly are a family and can handle themselves better than most adults she knows. And they are fighting Eggman, a literal terrorist and would be dictator, that no adults are seemingly capable of going up against. (plus best not piss off the only two people who are seemingly capable of taking him down)

So she helps them. She tells them about emancipated minors and Sonic wants both of them to have that. People are hesitant to let Sonic go through with it since he is 11 but kid fights Eggman so sure why not. But no adult can sign off on Tails, the barely not a toddler child, in good consciousness becoming an emancipated minor. So she gets Sonic squared away on being an emancipated minor, then she turns around and helps him legally become Tails’ guardian instead. Those in charge still hesitated but like I said she’s in charge of the place so she finally got them to do it.

She asks two things from them for her help with this though. 1) they just check in with her every once in a while so she at least knows they’re okay, letters or a phone call will do but please just let her know they’re alive. 2) They come and have playdates with her little girl Cream when they’re nearby so she can have some friends and she can sneakily check on if they look like they’re eating right. They agree since it’s not an unreasonable request and at this point Vanilla is a friend to them so they were gonna keep in touch anyways, plus through all of this they already befriended Cream so they were gonna visit regardless.

As the years go by people trying to get Sonic and Tails put into the system stops for the most part. It mostly becomes a problem when random people find out Tails’ age but when ever that issue pops up Sonic gleefully hits them, figuratively and literally, with the adoption papers. 

Idk just a fun little idea I came up with enjoy people.

when the guidebook comes out or if you feel like it. would you have advise about how to make one? like for my own ocs world.

The way you explain world building for your stories and aus is wonderful! plus I can understand the lore in them quite well when reading them.

however understanding my own words building or lore is more of a challenge for me.

I struggle a bit with wording the information in ways I myself am confused by and feel it'd confused others to. Especially stuff contrasting something else or a new thing gets added.

thank you! i'm glad that it's easy to understand. <3 and i would be more than happy to give advice. if you'd be comfortable sharing your own guide book document if/when you start it, i'd also offer to be your editor if you wanted feedback from a reader's perspective.

so i won't go into formatting here because there are a lot of different ways you can format a guide book, but you said that you're worried about the information being confusing. here are some things i would suggest based on my own past mistakes and my perspective when reading other people's OC information.

don't add too much info all in once place. for a clear, concise summary of information, adding too much info will make things confusing and hard to read. i used to think that i had to cut in with context for every little thing, but over time i realized it was better to stick to one or two main points in a given paragraph and then expand upon the things needing context in a separate paragraph. so what do i mean by too much info? something like this: "The hierarchy from bottom to top is Greenies (Greens who are still going through their Basics), Greens (Greenies who have graduated their Basics), True Greens (Greens who have children for their Golds/Goldens), Golds (the ring fighters), Goldens (the ring leaders), and the Gods (Goldens who have ascended via ritualistic suicide)." all of those parentheses contain context, but putting all that in the same sentence bounces the focus away from the main point: the hierarchy. this is how i would write it now: "The hierarchy from bottom to top is Greenies, Greens, True Greens, Golds, Goldens, and the Gods." and then i would expand upon each one in a separate paragraph, where the focus can be on that specific rank and how it fits into the hierarchy.

be conscious of your fantasy vocab. this is moreso a general worldbuilding tip, but it goes into the whole 'being easy to understand' thing. i can't tell you how many times i've struggled to understand someone's lore or just lost interest because every single word was replaced with a word they made up for their story, or there were a bunch of made up new words that i struggled to remember. i get it, especially if you're using fantasy, sci-fi, or futuristic settings (G/G is one of them), but if you need to consult The Fantasy Glossary before reading someone's lore, imo it's not a great way to motivate them to read. using my own lore as an example: the G/G AU does replace certain words, like using drops instead of stars and Dim and Glisten for night and day. greft is their form of birth control. but most of our words still apply to G/G. they sleep on beds with pillows, they use knives and swords as weapons, etc. the only times i replace it with a fantasy word are if i don't believe our concept applies to the Gelion version, or if it's something with particular significance -- i.e., a sacred or blessed sword may have a special fantasy name.

organization matters. if i'm explaining the stigma against Reformed Greens, i would probably need to explain what Reformation is first before i get into the effects of it. it's important to organize your info in a way that makes sense to someone who isn't in your head -- they don't know what Reformation is until i define it, and then i can go into further detail. it may also help to organize your thoughts based on chronological order; the G/G guidebook starts with Earth's downfall, then the slow reconstruction that leads to Gelion, and ends with modern day Gelion. or you could choose another means of organization, like maybe you want to go by specific character, country, tribe, magic type -- whatever big thing that you can group little things under, and all of those little things will be the bulk of your information. and though i said i wouldn't get into formatting, headlines, categories, bullet points, and even color coding can all help with organization! i guarantee you, if someone's sending me their OC lore, i would much rather see THIS--

2023 Megaman Summer Fanart Contest Results!

I have no time to whip up a new results post image, but oddly enough I have a dorky 16-year-old drawing I can crop, that somewhat technically covers both themes, in some respect. Go figure.

Thank you to everyone for your patience waiting for this post! Sorry, just have felt a little lacking in focus and energy to finish this until now. In a summer full of surprises, it was a joy to see your art for the first time in a long while! If X DiVE had sadly not been phased out this summer, this would have been a set of skins/new summer characters I know a lot of people surely wanted, with a fun new boss alt design. Finding treasures buried at the beach definitely fit's Scaravich's profile, and his little striped swimsuit armor and diving attire gave me a good laugh, plus looks just perfect for him. The boys all have unique swimwear that fits them great, individually!

Mummira head is the perfect volleyball! Unfortunately, just as a decoy here, because bumping that one back over is not going to get you any points, Aile. That was certainly a very well-thought out creative choice in the composition, and I absolutely loved it. The proportions and angle really give a kind of neat fish-eye lens perspective in this piece, in some respects.

Points for the most literal pure parody of the theme, enabling the rare buddy comedy teamup of Sigma and X. Overall, characters and look matches up really well to the 2017 Baywatch movie poster, with plenty of little Megaman-themed tweaks, although I'm laughing at Zero in the CJ swimsuit/position. He looks thrilled to be put in that there! XD

You be the judge. Granted, I didn't think your eyes needed to be shielded like Colonel is doing to Iris here, but sometimes it's OK to be like an overprotective older brother. Forgive her, Zero! What are your thoughts on OG obey me not getting anymore lessons after 80? It worries me because it kinda feels like they are trying to kill it slowly.... This is making me not enjoy nightbringer because i thought i would be a spin off new game with a new story that we could play while waiting for OG obey me to come with season 5, but now it seams like nightbringer will be their only foucus and season 5 will never happen. Sorry this kinda turned into a rant just not liking what's happening now.

Yeah, we weren't too happy when we first heard about it, which was the AMA the devs did on Reddit. It was a shitty way to release that information, and it sucks that they really only said so when people ASKED if OG was going to get season 5/more lessons. It did create backlash right away, which we guess they were...attempting to avoid in the first place lol. But they definitely should have handled that announcement a lot better than they did.

In terms of what it means for the future of OG, we don't think they are trying to kill it per se so much as they just sort of...wrote themselves into a corner, and this was their way of hitting reset, on that and other things.

We definitely have some criticisms of the writing in Season 4, particularly how they squandered much of what was narratively set up in Season 3, and they didn't really set anything up on where it goes from there. It's also unfortunate that the original game is just going to be doing the same events as Nightbringer, rather than separate ones, which just means there's really nothing to motivate people to stay. And in that way, it does also sort of feel like a waste of all the effort people have put in to strengthen up our cards and grind affection and stuff, because we can't transfer ANY of that. They probably hope to continue that both sides will make money for them, but realistically speaking, it does feel like they are effectively just pushing everyone to migrate to the new game, and that the original is being sort of abandoned to just a maintenance mode kind of thing.

One thing they did note about the decision was that Ruri Tunes was originally supposed to just be an additional mode, but they decided to split it off as part of a separate Nightbringer game/story in order to not make the original "unplayable" with all they wanted to add and change "under the hood". Part of that, at least at a guess, may be due to the difficulty curve of the original -- despite them adjusting the difficulty in a patch, plus their zero-AP lesson battle promo campaigns, they probably were seeing a lot of drop-off just for people who gave up because they couldn't make it through those earlier lessons to even finish Seasons 2, 3, and 4. In that sense, it's good and bad to shift the continuation of the story to this new game even though they don't seem to have actually learned their lesson with the difficulty curve problem... But that's another thing they get to hit reset on by making a new game.

As for a Season 5, we do know from the same AMA that the story from the original is supposed to "continue" in Nightbringer, which suggests that it might pick back up from the end of Season 4 as effectively a Season 5, like maybe MC will make it back to their own time and continue from there, just in this other game instead of the original. Which, um, is certainly a choice on their part, especially since not everyone has the time or interest in a rhythm game. It kinda feels also a bit like this sudden time travel thing in Nightbringer may almost be a way of buying them some time while they figure out what to do as a continuation to the OG plot.

All of that said, however, considering the lack of direction for the original, we've actually been really enjoying Nightbringer's story! It dives into a lot of super interesting questions and content that fans have been begging for and brings back some of the darker themes from Season 1 that we've really missed, so even though it's not quite the Season 5 we've been waiting for, we're really hyped for the new content to keep coming!

Thoughts on the Olive Garden

Nothing earthshaking or resembling more than a sip of tea, but I found this Reddit user's comments to be interesting:

"I have some info on the house. It had a lot of issues when they purchased it and for Montecito, it's relatively low in price. I'm from SoCal originally and was in Santa Barbara for a friend's bday a year ago. We decided to go check out M&H's house - we both love looking at houses and were interested in M&H. What's interesting about what's fondly referred to as The Olive Garden is that we thought for sure it would be in a heavily gated community or an estate property where you wouldn't be able to see anything.

It's actually in a community with an ornamental gate, but anyone can drive though the neighborhood. Most of the houses in this little subdivision are pretty normal (for Montecito) - maybe 5-6000 sq ft on average. It's not some ultra exclusive enclave. There are tons of kids and families, just out for walks, playing with their dogs, etc. M&H's house is actually one of the few with security gates. Most are just stand alone house with a driveway live anywhere else. Both the gates and surrounding fencing are covered in heavy green tarps and there are literally at least 20 cameras in all directions on their driveway. They have one of those spheres with 6 cameras and then mounted fixed cameras everywhere. They do the ugly tarps wherever they go based on the Canada retreat photos. I had wanted to take a picture, but my friend wouldn't let me so we just drove by. I have a feeling they have committed the cardinal sin of real estate - you never want to be the biggest or most ostentatious house in a neighborhood. It's better to be the worst house in the most exclusive area.

The other thing about Montecito is that the people with the real money (Oprah, Ellen, etc ) don't live in subdivisions. They live on gated estates with massive acres of land set way back from the road, completely away from other neighbors. I was surprised how close M&H's house is to the common, everyday looking people. I would call this more entry level or tier 2 Montecito when the real trophy properties are 50-100 million plus.

I've heard that they have had plumbing problems because it was a newer house built on the cheap. The plumbing or sewage system has created an odor on the property. I am in the minority, but from the photos, I kind of like the Olive Garden. I like Spanish and the grounds with the pool, yoga studio, etc. Compared to Tyler Perry's truly tasteless La Quinta Inn new money mansion in on steroids, Montecito looks practically historic.

I can see them moving back to LA. I heard they compromised and moved to Montecito because Harry was not a fan of Beverly Hills (although it seems to have grown on him and Meghan, each with their alleged own hotel suites in the area at separate clubs/hotels). I heard they ended up in Montecito because the properties they really had wanted in Malibu were out of reach."

Catelyn sometimes specifically comes over to hang out with Ned's new wife. She gives Ned a 'Oh Hi, How are- 'Y/N! There's a new cafe I wanted to go with you to!' or 'Ned, you look great- Y/N! you're glowing! Do you know the gender of the baby yet?'

Rickon talks about having 2 moms to his schoolmates, confusing the teacher. Because they were sure that Rickon had a father? They've seen a father... Right?

In this case, Cat and Ned must've separated on amicable terms and she still sees the kiddos a ton - probably has joint custody. I like the idea of Sansa's college being close to Catelyn's place so she can room with her mom if she doesn't want to do dorms (plus she can keep Lady with her!).

It's super sweet she's involved with the new wife too, especially if she's very new to motherhood and super anxious about it. Catelyn def has plenty of expertise and advice and might come across as pushy, but she genuinely wants to help! She def asks Arya and Bran to help out the new wife with some chores to make her burdens a little easier (sometimes they listen, lol)

I think in modern!au, Catelyn and Lysa are def those sisters who grew up super close and just kept drifting apart :^( Cat tried to lean on her after the divorce, but Edmure ended up being more supportive... ... I like to think it took some time for Catelyn to warm up to the new wife, just because she felt protective of Ned. Once they're friends she's really glad to have that sort of female companionship. I kinda think she'd place more importance on a female friend?? Or she's of the generation that "men and women can't be close without it being romantic", yanno.

I think Ned worries they wouldnt get along bc he still loves Cat a lot (in a familial way now) and he's worried Rickon and Bran and Arya won't adjust well... but after time and lots of talking and reassuring it works out. Long overdue update!

Hey guys- it has been a LONG time. I have some news and most importantly, an apology.

My new, inclusive header

Firstly, I've been on a road of self-discovery for quite awhile. As it turns out, I'm a nonbinary person and bisexual. I am transmasculine, and as I've been on testosterone, my previously undetectable attraction to men has skyrocketed. I'm still attracted to women and nonbinary people, but mostly men these days. I'm bisexual, so my attraction to all genders is different for each one. It feels different for me, the way I experience my attraction to each gender, which is why I am not pansexual. My name is now Ash.

So what does this mean for my blogs? Well, they're not going anywhere, but I am changing the names. Lesbiantext is now LGBTQtext, and in my about section I'll include the other updated blogs. I will be making content for the whole acronym! Including the plus that I can't put into my url. Even some stuff for allies.

Now, my apologies. I'm apologizing for my serious inactivity first. I am so sorry that I've been MIA for so long. I got stressed from my blogs and just lost interest. But what I am mostly apologizing for is my previous lack of trans inclusion. Back when I thought I was a lesbian, I was dealing with dysphoria and seriously repressed it. I thought that I could just shove away my discomfort with my body and being referred to as a she or a woman. And that meant I didn't want to acknowledge trans anything. I surrounded myself with the wrong kind of people and I should have known better. And I am sorry. I am sorry for never mentioning trans people at all, especially trans women. It took a lot of strength, but I did separate myself from the wrong crowd and finally recognized myself as a nonbinary person. I love all my fellow trans people. That negativity is behind me now, and I am never looking back.

After a year-ish on t, my miniscule attraction to men shot up way higher than my attraction for women. That was a struggle too, since so much of my identity was about being a lesbian. It took a lot for me to take down my flags, but my nonbinary flag and my bisexual flag suit my room so much better. They feel right, as with my old lesbian ones I would sometimes feel like an impostor. I used to just write off my few moments of 'this guy is kinda hot WAIT WHAT-' as a fluke, but looking back, I think I was having bi-cycles. A lot of bisexual people experience fluidity in their attraction. I do still experience the bi-cycle, so my attraction can vary at times. And even though I can't get those years of denial back, I can just accept and love myself now, for my gender and my orientation.

So, I'm going to be slowly creating content for all genders and orientations. Send in your requests! I love you all.

The ask to ramble about Fenrar! Plus some extra questions of my own.

Is his name change a canon thing he goes through or just a change to his overall canon name? If former what made him do so?

What kind of interactions does he have with the revenant legendary echoes? Any big serious talks? Any funny discussions? And with what ones?

Other than those, feel free to ramble all you want about him.

So Fenrar's a bit of a mess, he's overdue for me sitting down and figuring out the details of his story as a lot of them are extremely vague so this is as much of a brainstorm as it is a ramble

He's a Priory researcher and a big ol' nerd with an interest in the Mists and all things Mists-related. Despite his vast knowledge, he's been seen as odd at best within the Priory, with a tendency to overlook everything and everyone in favor of pursuing his own interests, be it not out of any malice but rather sheer, constant insatisfiable curiosity that often led him to put himself and other people in danger, he's the definition of "curiosity killed the cat".

Some years before the start of personal story he led a group of researchers into the Mists to track down and study anomalies and the possibility of travelling through the Mists. That, however, didn't turn out great for Fenrar, as he ended up separated from his group in an accident, falling through an opened portal and finding himself on the literal edge of the mists, a weird amalgamation of different places floating in the void with no clear way out, but despite all odds, Fenrar was fascinated and in awe of the place he found himself in, and he'd wander for a long time, only the odd astral creatures that inhabit the far reaches of the Mists keeping him some sort of a company. As time passed by though, the days all started to blur together, the odd, otherworldly landscape, Fenrar lost track of his travels, but luckily for him, eventually, through a sheer accident, he ended up falling through another portal, finding himself back in Tyria yet feeling... Different. Odd. Like his time in the mists changed his very being. Stuck on the edge between the Mists and Tyria, walking the thin veil that separates the two.

He returned back to the Priory, with all his colleauges being surprised to see him back and alive to say the least, interested in his story and the data he could provide to the research team, something Fenrar avoided under the pretence that he doesn't remember much, settling down and continuing his work, along with discovering and training his new abilities of a revenant.

As for his name, it's not really canon either way, as he's a Lion's Arch charr originally, he's never been a part of a warband or a legion, with Mistwalker being more of a title than anything. As for Starcatcher, I simply thought it'd fit him better nowadays, given his connection to the far reaches of the mists that are just empty, chaotic space inhabited by astral creatures, and that his revenant magic creates not regular mists rifts and white clouds of fog, but rather cosmic-looking portals and swirling, star-filled nebulae clouds due to the nature of his revenant abilities.

Now the legends thing is interesting, because in my initial idea Fenrar only really invokes and communes with one legend, Shiro. The idea is, while travelling through the far reaches of the Mists he'd ran into Shiro's spirit, imprisoned and chained up not unlike Balthazar, asking Fenrar for help in exchange for helping him escape the Mists. Things didn't go quite as planned however, with Fenrar basically dying and the two of them getting smushed together into one body, Fenrar's, throughout the process of falling through multiple chaotic portals before finally finding themselves back in Tyria.

I'm not quite sure if I wanna keep that bit of his lore as to not make his story bloated but I do like his interactions with Shiro and how they deal with being stuck together in the same body, Shiro more or less trapped again after over a century of imprisonment far away in the Mists, and Fenrar having to learn how to coexist with a murderous ancient Canthan ghost in his head.

Hello, followers! If I started posting more about my ESO adventures, would you be interested in them?

Like, I play ESO a lot. I play on my own account with 10 characters AND my sibling's account with their 6 characters AND occasionally on our parent's account with THEIR 6 characters. (I'm keeping my family gender neutral here because I dont know whether they'd want me putting them on blast to all of you)

I mostly just think that it would be fun to talk about the lore and environment and stuff as though Talsgar himself is traveling around Tamriel. There's so much content in ESO and very little of it conflicts with what we're familiar with from the main elder scrolls games (in that, there is definitely stuff that conflicts, but when you compare it to everything else that is lore-compliant, it's really quite a small amount), so I think it would be fun.

Plus, maybe I could convince some of you who are on the fence about playing to make an account next time they have a free-to-play event where you don't have to buy the game or any of the DLCs just to bop around and see the sights. I've put the story of how I, personally, got into playing ESO under the cut, so you dont have to read it if you dont want to lol

What got me into ESO was seeing a post on here with gifs of the city Shimmerene on Summerset, the biggest island of the Summerset Isles. Those gifs made it look gorgeous--the colors were vibrant, the water looked realistic as heck, the plants also looked realistic as heck, and the architecture was compelling to me as someone who studies classical antiquity.

Then, when I was getting a tattoo a few weeks later, I was able to chat with my tattoo artist about ESO and its pros and cons. He had recognized me as an elder scrolls fan several months earlier when I had gotten the Oblivion mages guild seal as a tattoo, so I figured he was a good person to talk to and thus I made an appointment specifically with him for another tattoo. And during my actual appointment, man was tattooing my spine and gushing about how fun the game was, how intuitive the gameplay is for someone who was used to playing Dragon Age games and could never really get hooked on Skyrim, and how ESO actually motivated him to go back and give Skyrim and Oblivion a try. It was super fun talking with him and I realized that if ESO can attract non-Skyrim folks, then it must be at least a decent game. Of course, it then took 2 more years of me researching the game to figure out if it was still a subscription-based model to play the base game.

Luckily, by the time I was doing this research, they'd actually switched from a subscription for the game itself to a subscription for a thing called ESO+, and the base game was actually available for just a single purchase of the game. I brought the idea up to my parent, who was almost 60 at the time and needed something other than skyrim or fallout 4 to play, and they were like, "we'll just get ESO plus because you want to see Shimmerene and it's part of a DLC that's included in ESO+ that we would have to buy separately without it."

And I gotta say, in person, Shimmerene is better than those gifs. My parent and I ended up going all over Tamriel in the first hour of playing, going to random places just to look at them, new and familiar alike. We went to Anvil and I was mad that Benirus Manor was a BANK, and not a house for sale. We went to Windhelm and I was like, "damn, everything's made of wood and the citizens are so much nicer to my dark elf." We went to Vivec City and I was like, "hold on there are only 3 cantons, wtf," and then we went to Balmora and it looked almost exactly the same.

And then we went to Elden Root and were like, "holy shit, thats the biggest tree I've ever seen in my life," which, we live in california and have seen the actual real life redwoods. The devs of ESO somehow made the elden root tree absolutely towering and evoke that same majesty that the redwoods evoke.

We went to the city of Daggerfall and it was delightfully medieval european, and then we went to Wayrest, and it was essentially just a bigger Daggerfall. We went to Rivenspire and immediately left because it was a blasted hellscape of dead trees and vampires.

We saw the swamps of Shadowfen, the jungles of Valenwood, the Alik'r Desert of Hammerfell, the snowy tundras of Eastmarch and Wrothgar. And ash-covered Vvardenfell and southern Morrowind.

Going to Mournhold and seeing the tribunal temple again was WILD. And Almalexia NOT in a murderous rage chasing me through the place.

Going to Vivec City and seeing them floating serenely above their throne.

Seeing Sotha Sil in the Clockwork City alive!! and talking!!!!

Seeing the cherry blossoms of summerset and auridon, the stuck-up high eleven nobles turning up their noses at my little dark elf not for being a dark elf but for not being a high elf, which was weirdly refreshing after skyrim.

Seeing several different kinds of Khajiit furstock! Big senche-rahts! Tiny alfiqs! Towering pahmers! Absolutely mind-blowing.

Also having to walk everywhere? because you gotta discover places to fast travel back to them, like in skyrim? Arduous as heck, because the land is so big and you are so small, and there are so many places to visit, and you have to explore them all. You just have to.

Anyway, thats my propaganda for playing ESO.

How I imagine Garou before getting his new hero job:

"Alright youngman, right now you have 2 options:

1.- You can run for the rest of your life, becoming an outlaw trying to escape your past mistakes until the day those caught up to you"

Graou: "Definitely not the first one"

"2.- You have to go for a rehabilitation period, write an apology and enroll as an official pro hero in Silver Fang's instead"

Garou: "Okay, let re-check the first one"

Well good luck to those who'd try to force him into a box adhering to their rules or policies he might not agree with, or by threatening/blackmailing him to do things he might not want to do either (he's not likely to put up with that; he didn't like it when the MA ordered him to do things either, so if the HA tries anything funny like that on him too - either inhibiting him or against what he actually wants to achieve and fight for, they’ll unfortunately seem no different to him than the MA, by either enforcing their will on him or deciding what’s best for him without his say...cause even unconsciously he doesn’t like to be bound by chains.)

So there's always option 3: continue to stay at Bang's place to perfect his own style and inherit the dojo one day, to help empower and pave the way for more weak kids in the future (while being an independent vigilante or something on the side, since he can still 'be a hero' without needing a registered license for it based on what other people say. Saitama & Tareo already see him a hero anyway; no ‘pro’ label or rank necessary. Plus there’s a whole separate theme/issue about real heroes being unknown and thankless, while ‘fake’ heroes - esp the upcoming Neo Heroes, are employed/licensed with more free rein to be violent thugs, just because they’re seen/trusted as ‘good,’ which yup, Garou doesn’t like.)

...But honestly with Bang's recommendation, the HA might really go ahead and register Garou anyway (without his knowledge?) and bypass much of their typical selection process in their haste to fill more members. In that case Bang's 'rehabilitation period' might also be another part of 'the test' since the HA keeps a close watch on persons of interest anyway - and if Sitch sees Garou's worthy good enough to help defend humanity, then he'll be right on it. But we'll see how it really goes~

(Part 2) I feel like Garou may possible have several fans once he becomes a hero (unlike Saitama)... And maybe someone like Mumen Rider would say something like: "Coming Rookie, we have a lot of work to do" And Garou would follow him reluctantly and most likely, because he is one of the only heroes that may forgive him and not treat him like an outsider/bullying him.

It’s possible Garou already has a handful of fans he doesn’t know of - beyond Tareo, all those citizens who cheered and thanked him before. :’D It wouldn’t surprise me if more come out of the woodwork beyond his expectations! (We’ll have to see how much the televised footage comes to affect his public reputation!)

And Mumen is a good soul - I’d expect he’d be one of the few who’re quite forgiving and mayhaps sympathetic/welcoming. :’3 But when it comes to work - as we saw how Garou took charge (it was him coming up with plans and barking orders heh) when interacting with Metal Bat & Saitama - Garou has more potential to be a hero leader than a follower. And he’ll only reluctantly ‘follow’ someone (with his tsun excuses like for Bang) if he actually wants to be there. :’3 But the more people who can appreciate him for who he is (and with actual kindness - cause it’s important to him that good heroes are kind), the better~ 

(Part 3) You think Amai Mask would bully Garou a lot more that he already does with the others heroes? Because, let's be honest, he is an asshole.With everyone. And I can't just help but looking forward to their interactions between almost all the S class heroes.

Once Sweet Mask finds out, he’ll likely have a LOT to say. Since he’s always on the lookout for that ideal ‘idol’ representation of a hero - to become that in his stead....so honestly there’s a lot for him and Garou to potentially argue/talk about concerning that topic. And SM can’t afford any leeway or lapses in judgment when it concerns anything to do with ‘monsters’......but it also depends, because he won’t have any time or grounds to ‘bully’ or confront Garou once his own identity is exposed....cause he’ll be preoccupied with his own ruined reputation and difficult situation.

(Part 4) Garou...Fights heroes sending them to the hospital and tries to become absolute evil...Ends up becoming one of the most efficient pro heroes and saves a lot of lives in the progress.~. SAITAMA 😝

And that’s the biggest irony, isn’t it? 8′D He originally set out to be the ‘villain’ to change the story and fix the problems he observed in the world....only to end up putting in the arduous, self-sacrificing work eliminating the world’s most dangerous threats and saving everybody as a hero. :P hah. Right into a potential job. All that’s left is supporting his strengths/passions to grow in the right (healthier and more authentic) direction, and encouraging how he comes to see and value himself to become ‘official.’ :’3

DSAF AU Ideas:

So sorry a new Phone Guy Dave AU section isn’t out yet, or more art (although I have decided generally what I want my Jack design to look like yey!). But being the bizarre AU obsessed being I am, I have decided to write out some ideas for AUs I might write or draw snippets of in the future. Warning, a lot of these are angsty because I’m an angsty fuck and I’m shit at fluff for the most part, and refuse to write smut. I come originally from Undertale, and you all should know how many AUs that Fandom had, it shaped my development in that regard, as I love AUs.

Severed Head AU: Like PG!Dave, this takes place in the DSAF bad route! After Jack leaves Dave repossesses his own severed head and goes on a magical adventure called spiralling depression because the love of his life just fucking murdered him in cold blood. This AU is basically angst porn, and thus if I did write it at all, it wouldn’t be as much as some of the others.

Child AU: So all the characters are kids! That’s kinda it. Oh yea, Fredbear’s doesn’t exist but Fazbender’s does, because they are separate things. David Miller was Jack’s friend and he recently died which is a major conflict. Dave, never having met Henry, still goes by William and lives on the streets of the fictional town the story takes place in. All characters except the previously mentioned David Miller are alive, and thus Jack is not orange because y’all seem to forget something that he isn’t, it’s just makeup he uses to hide his decomposition. The story will take place in the 80s so buckle in and expect it to be largely based on Stranger Things, because I was unfortunately not alive in the 80s. Dee is 7, Jack is 15, Dave/William is 15, David Miller was 13, Peter is 17, Steven is 17, Caroline in 17. This would be more in depth and plot based as well as my usual method for fanfics of make it up as I go, so you wouldn’t get very much very fast especially with school.

Rainworld AU: Seeing the fact I have recently posted a drawing of a slugcat, you may expect that I am indeed, into rainworld. This is a correct assumption. Jack would fill the role of the monk and Dee as the survivor because it makes sense in the context of the story that Jack is trying to find her plus monk is yellow so Jack being orange is not much of a stretch. Dave would be also a slugcat because I love slugcats, potentially a spearmaster, because they’re kinda purple and I think it would be interesting. However y’all would have to wait for me to finish the game and for the DLC to be out with the spearmaster. The story would feature little to no dialogue whatsoever, the characters would be referred to without names probably because slugcats don’t seem to have names as they don’t seem to be fully sapient so much as just highly intelligent with pack dynamics. Henry might be an iterator because it fits him better than a slugcat and from what I’ve heart of Five Pebbles despite not meeting the guy yet, yea he’s a Henry. Regardless I’d still try to get their personalities across as best I can with no dialogue nor names. Plus slugcats are fun and easy to draw and I’m going to draw more of them anyway so you’ll be likely to get plenty of art. Y’all probably don’t know Jack shit about what I’m saying here because no one knows this hidden gem of a game.

Patchwork Heart and another big project still under wraps that Im working on with my friend are still my top priority but I’ve found DSAF fanfics are amazing pallet cleansers to write between working on those so I’m gonna write lots in my free time.

Does the O'Rahilly translation contain both recensions in one Volume or are they sold separately? I've been looking around for em for a while but haven't pulled the trigger yet because I can't figure if I'm supposed to buy both or just one.

they're published separately. recension 1 (1976) is published as "táin bó cúailnge: recension 1", and contains the edited irish text and the translation. book of leinster (1967) is published as "táin bó cúalnge from the book of leinster" and contains the edited irish text and the translation, with a slightly more detailed introduction. stowe (1961) is published as "the stowe version of táin bó cúailnge" and contains only the edited irish text, a select glossary, and an introduction; there is no translation in this text.

(o'rahilly did not edit r3, r3 is incredibly fragmentary and has been edited half by nettlau and half by thurneysen in two different academic journals, these are online somewhere i think. you don't need to bother with r3 99% of the time, most academics generally forget it exists / don't include it in discussions because there's not really enough of it to sustain arguments a lot of the time, unless you're looking at something really specific that happens to show up in those fragments!)

both recension 1 and book of leinster are available to read on CELT, in irish and in english, so if it's purely for reading purposes, that's super useful. but for line numbers and stuff the physical copies come in handy (and for aesthetics).

whether you get just one or all of them really depends on what you want. i bought recension 1 first because it was in their black friday sale a few years ago and i could get it cheaply, and that was useful, but for the work i was doing at the time i wanted the book of leinster version, so i acquired that one a couple of months later. i didn't bother buying stowe because of the lack of translation, until i was doing work that required translating parts of stowe and figured it would be easier if i had my own copy -- i'd photocopied some pages from the library but it wasn't really cutting it, especially as i wanted to flip back and forth to the glossary

if you aren't in a position to work directly with 15th century irish (most people aren't) then there is no point buying stowe, frankly. but whether you want both of the others or just one is up to you! most people think the book of leinster text is "better" -- the redactors smooth out the story, get rid of a lot of the continuity errors (not all of them), and make it more of a continuous narrative, plus it has the extended 'comrac fir diad' episode with the 4-day fight, compared to r1's 1-day fight. so if you want a readable narrative and/or are focused on ferdia etc, i'd go for book of leinster in the first instance. however, r1 has slightly more supernatural/otherworldly stuff, with marginally more emphasis on the role of the morrígan and lug, since book of leinster really understates those elements. so if that's your interest, you want r1.

but if you're having to pay big shipping costs to buy them from ireland then to some extent you might as well get them both at once if your budget will stretch to it lol. it definitely changes your perspective on the story to start engaging with it on the recension level and understand how the priorities and emphasis shift from one version to another, it really disrupts your thinking of it as a set narrative and lets you see it as something much more complex and fluid, which it is

when i first started working with recensions i hated it but now it's like the first thing i do when i'm interested in a new strand of it, is go see how each version tackles that strand

as i say though, you can read o'rahilly's translations of r1 and LL on CELT, so if it's purely reading you want, you do not need to spend €35/€70 on buying one/both of them unless you wish to!

Day 25

Hello all! Welcome to day 25! Merry Christmas to those celebrating, and I hope everyone had a good day regardless, celebration or not.

I'm gonna use a few of my previous musings here to create a bit of a list regarding what you'd give the gents of the 141, Los Vaqueros, and Konig for Christmas. Imagine having a small little Christmas together before everyone goes their separate ways prior to a short leave.

(I made the dialogue attributed to "you" italicized this time since there's so much more than usual.)

Gaz has been pulled in by Price to prepare food this time, since he's shown his skills before and now is the designated help.

You had tried to help, but got shooed away by Gaz and the Captain.

"Go bug Soap or something, keep him out of here please."

You did just that, finding Rudy, Alejandro, and Soap gathered in the living space with cards in their hands.

Ghost is sitting off in a corner, a book held in his hands.

A small tree had been set up in a corner, much smaller than the majority of your sundry crew. Lights were strung about it and lined the edges of the ceiling, casting the room in a warm off-white glow.

"How'd ya always beat me, Colonel?" Soap gripes, watching the man slide the small stack of chips toward himself.

"You've just got to be better at perception, cabrón." Alejandro gloats.

You settle onto the couch, the gents playing gathered on the floor around the coffee table.

"Want us to deal you in?" Rudy asks. You shake your head in response.

"I'm worse than Soap when it comes to cards."

You watched for a while, Konig appearing in your peripheral after a little. You gestured to the couch beside you and he sits, watching the ever-growing frustration on Soap's face and the mirth on Alejandro and Rudy's.

Ghost seems to finish the book he had, and begins watching too, even trying to offer pointers to Soap.

"I wouldn't do that Johnny." He murmurs. Soap looks over his shoulder.

"Lot of bloody help you are." He huffs. Ghost then moves to sit on the floor with them.

"Deal me in next, I'm gonna kick your ass sergeant." You raised your eyebrows and shared a look with Konig, thinking things just got even more interesting.

Dinner was even more cramped than the first time, having added a 6'10" body to the mix.

Alejandro had laid claim to the couch next to Konig when you got up, and you merely shrugged, sitting on the floor again.

You stopped everyone before they retired to their bunks, a grin on your face at the confusion your teammates wore.

You had been working for months to secure and hide a few things for them.

For Price, you had grabbed cigars he liked and a warm beanie.

For Ghost, a new book similar to the one you had first borrowed, plus some ghost-themed bookmarks.

For Soap, a sketchbook and good drawing pencils, a small bar of soap drawing tucked inside the cover.

For Gaz, a blank recipe book where he could write his own. (Though you encouraged him to share).

For Alejandro, you found a good quality travel-sized sewing kit and a thermal shirt, since he was all the way in the UK with you all for now.

For Rudy, you gave him a few CDs of bands he'd mentioned he liked to dance to.

For Konig, you bought a couple of CDs of classical piano music and a small travel booklet of some songs.

The team was somewhat speechless at the gifts, that is until Soap stood and crushed you in a hug.

The rest of the team followed, with Konig and Ghost offering you thank yous and a fistbump and handshake respectively.

They promised they'd try and bring something back with them when they returned, but you had waved them off.

"Merry Christmas guys. Travel safe."
