Bugsy, being the youngest of the Johto gym leaders and local bug enthusiasts, has at least rambled to their fellow gym leaders about the oddities and fascinations about bug types once. More often than not, the others would let them ramble,thus knowing more bug facts that they would like to actually know.

Falkner and Jasmine are the two that are probably the most attentive to his rambles! Bugsy and Falkner have gone on long discussions about their respective types with each other, both giving the other facts about their respective type. In a way, because of this, Falkner became an older brother figure to Bugsy in their youth, and still is in modern day. They would also definitely have some friendly competition with each other, with Bugsy being a higher tier gym leader than he is, and thus the natural bug vs flying debate would come around.

Jasmine doesn't exactly match that energy that Bugsy and Falkner has when it comes to her discussions with Bugsy. She is more content listening to them ramble about bug types,as she learns a lot from them! As someone who, at the time of gsc, recently switched to steel types and have been passionate about them ever since, she's glad that Bugsy has found the same for them! She actually gives Bugsy tips on cleaning their bug/steel types, particularly the ones that have actual metal around them.

I'm adding Clair since pre gsc, she's been pretty....annoyed, with Bugsy's rambling. She wouldn't outright say anything bad, but she didn't see the value of bug types, or the power that they hold( Aaron probably confused her as how on earth can a bug type user have a higher position than her?!). But after gsc, she started to loosen up a bit. She still can't handle all the information that Bugsy would dumb onto her, but she's trying to be more attentive. Bugsy has told her about Flygon being a part of the bug egg group, yes. Yes, that very much took her by surprise. Even if it isn't classified as a bug type it's still interesting, she will admit. So yeah. She's crying to expand more. ( I know this post is about Bugsy but wouldn't it be cool if Clair decided to expand her type usage, and starts training different types of pokemon? I feel like she's been stuck in this mindset of "dragons are the greatest type" for so long and her loss to Kenji was kinda a wake up call for her? Obviously, dragon types are her main priority, but she starts to expand just a little).
