Are there ranks to the gods, like how it is in some other mythologies?

Yes actually! There wasn't originally, but in order to have some sembelance of order, the anicent ethereals created a system of gods based on how powerful they are! Here's the order:

Ethereal(the oldest and most powerful) Primas(the second oldest) Titans(the third oldest) Giants(the fourth oldest and 'the middle child') Gods(the second youngest and the most bratty of the gods) Magi(the youngest)

The Magi didn't actually exist when the Universe fell asleep, but when the Universe woke up, there was the first Magi, the goddess of magic and she was born human, but ascended to godhood status after the old goddess of magic used the last bit of her magic to make the young magi into a god.
