Regarding your post on fandom and Yas, it's definitely weird and honestly concerning how intense they can be. I'm new to the fandom and honestly find it very hard to participate in it, because people on twt can be so Intense™ sometimes but there's almost never new content on Tumblr unless there's a new ep and even then it's really just gifs and not like...conversation. So sometimes when I'm in need of new content I go on twt and see some very aggressive fans and I...go back to tumblr and look through my own reblogged Kacy post lmao I just want to talk to Kacy fans why is it so hard

twitter is a wild, wild place, but i agree that it definitely is livelier there than here. i feel like it definitely attracts more of the louder, younger fandom, because half the people ik here are too busy with their jobs/grad school to even watch the episode within the first week of airing let alone post nearly that much (though theyve got a lot of older adults there too tbh, who are arguably more intense than the younger fans). i only use it casually to watch edits and see bts stuff and i still get overwhelmed and leave pretty quickly.

tumblr was def more active when s1 was airing and the kacy angst was at peak capacity, but lucy being absent and the lack of a significant kacy plot this season is probably what's contributing to the lack of conversation unfortunately. it will probably pick up though when new episodes start airing again next month so youll be able to strike then!

a lot of those gifmakers have a lot to say if you message them! and idk if you read fic at all, but all the writers for ncis: h ive interacted with/messaged on here/twitter are very cool and more than happy to talk about kacy!

if im remembering correctly, there are a few kacy discords floating around here that im sure you could jump in as well if you ask about them

Hey, I just want to say thanks for posting these updates on the Hybe boycotts. Especially since I don't always actively keep up with the kpop branch of news (since I don't have Twitter or use Instagram that much).

It's good to know that there are at least some groups of fans working together to stop Scooter and his buddies and show their support to Palestine. I do worry if it'll be enough, but I also hope that they'll manage to kick Scooter out soon. From what I understand, it could be by the end of this month at the earliest?

It also leaves a weird taste in my mouth to think about how these artists are doing collabs of this sort (like the one with that UV Killer guy). How much of this was them actively willing to participate in the collab? If a lot, what does that say about their stance on Palestine? Will we ever know the answers? (Probably not, unfortunately.) It just feels. Weird.

hi everyone!! so starting today i will be taking a break from the blog!

tbh a lot of it comes from the fact that i’ve gotten crazy busy over the past few weeks and i haven’t had as much time to write (as you’ve probably noticed by my lack of posting). however some of it does come from the fact that tumblr’s began to felt like a job. writing is a past time and hobby for me, but i’m burning out of writing content on here, so i’ll be taking some time off to take a proper break.

i hope to be back when i’m finished with school, so during the summer, so the break will be about a month give or take. however, i won’t give myself some sort of deadline for the break so no promises haha. but i have full intentions to come back and return :D

It’s just interesting to me, when I was scrolling another fandom tag last night I saw a fic with like 4k notes and it only had like 200 reblogs so it’s like even worse than this fandom😂 so I guess we should be grateful? But I think bottom line (and I know I say this all the time) content creators are just as bad at supporting people— and these are the people that should want and understand the need for interaction so it’s just really funny tbh.

Hopefully this isn’t like- rude or anything really but some encouraging words for someone who’s been really discouraged by the rudeness of twt stans? Like I had a few things on the works but now I feel like maybe the best is not even finish them cuz I don’t feel safe anymore to post them :/

My best advice is not to let the fact that there are more T & K stans on tumblr now keep you from doing anything. There have always been people here who don’t agree with certain things & there always will be, but I don’t think that should stop anyone from working on or posting things they’re otherwise comfortable with

I would also encourage anyone to keep working on things even if for whatever reason they aren’t sure about posting them. Don’t take away from your own hobby & enjoyment just because you aren’t sure whether you want to share it

As for posting, in all honesty yes there is the chance that there may be a bit more scrutiny now than there was before — or probably more that there’s an increase in seeing it expressed here, because tbh there have been eyes on tumblr even before some people joined. What I would recommend there is blocking where you see fit. If you see someone making a rude post or a rude comment, or someone sending a rude ask with their account attached to it, there’s no reason you can’t block those people. It’s protecting your peace & cultivating your experience

Ultimately it’s up to you to decide what feels best for you. There’s no one size answer here. But personally I don’t see any reason to let other fans decide what you do or don’t get to do if it’s not causing anyone harm. Think of it this way — it’s kind of like if a bunch of people here love pineapple & enjoy posting about pineapple, their favorite kinds of drinks that have pineapple in it, their favorite recipes that have pineapple in it, different ways they like to cut pineapple, etc. Then suddenly some people who don’t like pineapple join the platform & start saying that they hate pineapple & think it’s disgusting, or maybe they say they only like to eat pineapple & no one should drink pineapple juice, etc. Those people don’t have to like pineapple & no one is going to force them to try pineapple if they don’t want to — but just because suddenly there are people saying they hate pineapple doesn’t mean it’s wrong that there are people who do love pineapple & still post about pineapples. Ngl there’s a part of me that was kinda relieved for the boys when the news dropped? Things were _finally_ getting addressed, the mystery was killed, we finally had a conclusion to this whole will-they-won’t-they mess, and I’m pretty sure the boys and HYBE thought this through enough to leave enough content for us while some of the boys were gone - which unironically made me think of this (very queer) moment right here

And I mean, granted, this ain’t my first rodeo (been a fan of kpop ever since 2012, been a self-proclaimed military wife enough times in my short lifetime), so I know how unfair it feels for the western beginners in the kpop scene to have to accept the fact that they’ll be gone for a little less than two years, but at the end of the day is not even that bad? Like, we don’t know them personally, most of us can’t afford to go to concerts anyway, we generally survive on their music and their content - which we can always go back to since they’re out there - so it truly doesn’t make the slight difference in our daily lives that they’re not doing much, yknow?

And tbh, trust me, the fomo is never as great as the uncomfortableness of having to put up with the fandom. I never really engaged with Twitter ARMYs because they always seemed way beyond the acceptable line of sanity to me, it doesn’t surprised me at all that they overreacted over the announcement. At the end of the day the only content that matters is the content that the boys or hybe themselves put out there, and the space where they do so is through their official accounts on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, everything else is just fandom speculation - ultimately, if we’re being honest, not to be taken seriously. So there’s nothing really to be missed out on by disengaging with the twt part of the fandom. You already have your mutuals, think of them as you irl friends who enjoy the same band as you while you largely ignore the vast majority of its fandom due to the sheer impossibility of being able to talk and befriend every single fan out there - you know you’re bound to get exhausted that way, why would it be any different online?

And lastly, it’s truly a pity that tumblr is deserted and hella quiet, back in my kpop beginner days - incidentally, the same era that tumblr was A Thing - it was much more diverse and fun to experience fandom through here, but unfortunately tumblr itself dig its own grave a long time ago and that’s why we’re where we are today…we don’t have much here, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t make the most out of what we have - which is what we have been doing and will probably continue to do, not because of any sense of obligation to the band or to the fandom, but because we only really do stuff for the fun of it 🤷‍♀️ the best fandom experience, if you ask me

But it’s still good to get that little reminder that no one forces you to engage in that specific fandom space, if that makes sense. I'm not sure if you're referring to tumblr (since i've know someone's been asking around about vernon accounts to follow here) or just in general but I don't think there was any, like, event that happened either way?

if you're referring to tumblr specifically, if there aren't many vernon accounts on here, it probably has less to do with vernon specifically so much as it has to do with the fact that a lot of active caratblr accounts slowly left the platform post 2018ish. which was, i think, just a combination of tumblr policy changes, stan twt becoming more popular, and maybe a little interpersonal drama between creators on here. and since then as far as I know there haven't been a ton of new people that have joined tumblr and become content creators (including update accounts). so it's mostly people from the past who have still clung to tumblr... I've said this before but i mostly keep to my own corner of carat tumblr these days so others may know more or have a different perspective on this

as for outside of tumblr i haven't heard anything about him not having many fansites? tbh i avoid fansites since a lot of them are problematic (a lot of them are fine too!) but i just find that a headache to keep track of and just avoid them all entirely, so i wouldn't know much about that

i feel like there are plenty of vernon biased/focused fan accounts on twitter though? at least not any less than the other members. maybe not specifically update accounts, but i feel like the vast majority of update accounts i see generally are OT13 anyway? like they may have a bias, but they update for the group as a whole

also worth noting that for a while after debut vernon was by far one of the most, if not the most popular members. he's less so now, but that's less bc something happened to make him less popular, and more just a natural progression of the other members becoming more known (especially outside of the fandom)

You know the funny thing of this whole chaos? I still feel like I want to chill and not be thinking in the doom this site is leading.

Been here for 15 years this next April. I have been reminiscing a lot of the old days and how much of it was beans compared to whatever the hell we have been living in the past 6 years (10-11 if we count when this hellsite was sold to Yahoo) since the pr0n ban.

I have been trying to put these on words (in English, mostly), but, personally, I have been burning out from social media in general. Twitter is a mess and it feels like I'm fighting a battle w/o a winner because its UI is a shell of what it was and everything is a mess and it is so buggy, and Support is all but in-name only (and my issues cannot be solved because they really don't care for their worldwide userbase that doesn't have English as a first language).

But here I am, somewhat naively expecting Tumblr was the last place left to go while others are in diapers in comparison. I feel the hellsite hit a few icebergs, and somewhat survived? since late 2018, but the ship doesn't seem fixable (or everything seems to have worked somehow, but there's still water at out ankles and/or knees) and it is already sinking faster because, on one hand, the ego of the CEO of its owners, and the other, because FOMO on the hands of more sh*tty techbros.

There's smth about "infinite growth" and "attempting to get money from a site that has been bleeding money since 2013" here in my words, somewhere, but I'm not expert and I really don't know how to put those while typing. Everything online is burning down right now elsewhere, too, just saying.

The burn out is real, I assure you. I have been thinking in a lot of stuff, too. Like, minimizing my social media presence because it's doing stuff to my mental health.

I don't know how ppl can maintain too many social media accounts in different places, when I am already in my early 30s and "have been there" and "being really tired of shit like this". I said this in 2018 and the other scares going on since, I wish migrating wasn't much of an option when there's 3-5 sites popping off. I also know that "centralization" in a way is also not worth it, considering how the internet has been becoming since the early 2010s. I somehow just want to go back to blogging as it was.

Personally, I also think social media (in general) has become more hostile in the past few years. Some more on their right, but others are a little :/. And, tbh? I'm also tired of that, as well. I cannot be at peace for 5 minutes. Yeah, I could scroll, I could filter, but even so.

I have been thinking of "remaking" my online presence. "Rebranding" if you wish, but I happen to be one of those ppl that are too attached to things, especially since... I think this blog (and twt by defacto) are the ones that have "too much of me" that's left online. I also know ppl from here and I don't know if I'm ever going to see them again if this all explodes on its way out (I also knew ppl from here that are also, probably, not living this whole meltdown chaos elsewhere, good fucking riddance, if you ask me). And the more I think of it, I might do so... if the site isn't a twt 2.0 and it's more to the Tumblr experience that I have known and managed in the past 15 years.

Setting aside the CEO meltdown that is a fucking mess and who know what is going to come out from it (we all said the same thing about Melon, and... it's been a hell of a year, ngl), I know the whole thing about Midjourney is a "wait and see" situation. I know some ex-staff has talked about the possibility that the site might die in the short term (ie 6 months?) if the traffic goes to WORSE than the Dec 2018 pr0n ban if this TRULY happens. I know I should be worrying to a degree about the past, present, and future of my account and my blogs.

I should be really considering doing that whole backup thing, that I talked about in... what late November? When things weren't this bad? But, luckily, I don't think it would be a gargantuan effort if I know how to manage the tools (I don't, but I just want to save from where I left last time, because :))) ) and keep doing some basic cleaning around, because I wonder of the future.

I'm just a very tired user of everything, and this platform was (and still is) manageable to a degree. And while this is not a "goodbye" yet, this is probably a call to everyone that still wants to keep in contact with me wherever it would lead me to go if everything burns down. I am still thinking of things I want to do, how I want them to do. There's also projects that I STILL want to show the world, but seeing how things have been this past week (and some things are still "wait and see"), I don't think Tumblr might be the place to host them in my future.
