Shout out to early 80s horror for having their group of kids be actually enjoyable and make you care about if they die or not. Later on movies devolved into the most annoying group of shitheads you want to see hacked and slashed but in the earlier days there was some genuinely great character dynamics. (My bloody valentine, Prom night, Slumber party massacre.) now of corse remakes go on to absolutely ruin the praise I just gave but what can you do?

🔪✨Prom Night (1980)✨🔪

My newest Sparkle Slasher! Kind of an underrated/ forgotten one imo. For as many stereotypical slasher elements this movie has I think it has as many unique aspects that make it really stand the test of time, not to mention Jamie Lee Curtis being amazing, and doing dance number lol

For this drawing I experimented with peeling layers off the paper to try to get more of a textured shattered glass look which I think turned out alright.

31 Nights of Halloween Horror: day 16

My choice for last night was: Prom Night (1980)

I rated this movie 5/10. Average 80's teen slasher movie. The unlikeable characters were unlikeable, you felt bad for the people you were supposed to feel bad for. The identity of the killer was very obvious. Jamie Lee Curtis did a great job, as she always does. If you like 80's cheesy horror, you'll like this.
