Bless the Lord, O My Soul
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22 Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.

Psalm 103
"1 I bless the holy name of YHWH-God with all my heart! 2 Yes, I will bless the LORD and not forget the glorious things He does for me!
"3 He forgives all my sins. He heals me. 4 He ransoms me from Hell. He surrounds me with loving-kindness and tender mercies. 5 He fills my life with good things! My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! 6 He gives justice to all who are treated unfairly. 7 He revealed His will and nature to Moses and the people of Israel.
"8 He is merciful and tender toward those who don’t deserve it; He is slow to get angry and full of kindness and love. 9 He never bears a grudge, nor remains angry forever. 10 He has not punished us as we deserve for all our sins, 11 for His mercy toward those who fear and honor Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far away from us as the East is from the West. 13 He is like a Father to us, tender and sympathetic to those who reverence Him. 14 For He knows we are but dust 15 and that our days are few and brief, like grass, like flowers, 16 blown by the wind and gone forever.
"17-18 But the loving-kindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting to those who reverence him; His salvation is to children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant and remember to obey Him!
"19 The LORD has made the heavens His throne; from there He rules over everything there is. 20 Bless the LORD, you mighty angels of His who carry out His orders, listening for each of His commands. 21 Yes, bless the LORD, you armies of His angels who serve Him constantly.
"22 Let everything everywhere bless the LORD! And how I bless Him too!"

It is Finished
John 19:30
It had different meanings to different people.
Hebrews 10:1 - 18
What would you answer when asked what did Jesus mean?
The Old Testament Sacrificial System wasn't designed to last forever.
It was a shadow of what was coming.
It was finished.
Jesus gave up His spirit.
He gave His life freely for all Mankind.
The curtain torn in two.
vs 14
He is perfect in God's eyes.
Not because of we have done, but because of what He has done. His sacrifice lasts forever.
vs 15 - 16
vs 17
Sins no longer remembered.

As Far as the east is from the west.

Do you sometimes find yourself in a funk? Perhaps the trials of life have you down and depressed or you’re just feeling blue without any specific reason. In this world, there is plenty to get us down. Jesus even promised us, “In this world, you will have trouble.” But the good news is that he has overcome the world. (I John 16:33)

Lent 4 Assurance of Pardon/Words of Grace
The grace of God is assured, and the healing of God is not just of the body, but instead a healing of forgiveness of sins and a restoration to one’s community. God’s grace is such that we are fully restored in all things. God takes care of our full being and self.

PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 103
Monday, 12/11/23
SCRIPTURE:
As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed
our transgressions from us [me].
~ Psalms 103:12
OBSERVATION:
So hard to select one verse... this whole Psalm is a song of praise and reminder of Who He is and what He has - and is - doing... but I think (so I've been accused), that this one sums up just how lucky and blessed I am -
He has removed my transgressions from me as far as the east is from the west...
...through Jesus...
APPLICATION: (from the rest of the Psalm)
Bless the Lord;
Remember His benefits and blessings;
Remember how far He has separated my sins from me (talk about a benefit and blessing!)
PRAYER:(also from the rest of the Psalm)
Faithful loving Lord Father God - I am more grateful than words can say for Your gracious compassion, forgiving my sins and iniquities. May Your Word and Holy Spirit speak to me throughout today, reminding me to bless Your Name and remember Your blessings and come before You in fear and reverence and awe. Thank You for Jesus, His sacrifice to separate me from my sin, and His example of surrendering His will for Yours - may I do likewise throughout today... In His Name, and for Your praiseful, worshipful honor...
Blessing His Name -

Daily Prayer for October 14, 2023
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, you alone are holy, and we stand in awe of you because you are good and great, a God of lovingkindness and compassion. We are thankful that you have not treated us as our sins deserve, but instead, you have buried them in the deepest ocean and separated them as far as the East is from the West. We know you have done this because of the redeeming work of your beloved…

All of Creation Should Praise the Lord
1
With all my heart
I praise the Lord,
and with all that I am
I praise his holy name!
2
With all my heart
I praise the Lord!
I will never forget
how kind he has been.
3
The Lord forgives our sins,
heals us when we are sick,
4
and protects us from death.
His kindness and love
are a crown on our heads.
5
Each day that we live,
he provides for our needs
and gives us the strength
of a young eagle.
6
For all who are mistreated,
the Lord brings justice.
7
He taught his Law to Moses
and showed all Israel
what he could do.
8
The Lord is merciful!
He is kind and patient,
and his love never fails.
9
The Lord won't always be angry
and point out our sins;
10
he doesn't punish us
as our sins deserve.
11
How great is God's love for all
who worship him?
Greater than the distance
between heaven and earth!
12
How far has the Lord taken
our sins from us?
Farther than the distance
from east to west!
13
Just as parents are kind
to their children,
the Lord is kind
to all who worship him,
14
because he knows
we are made of dust.
15
We humans are like grass
or wild flowers
that quickly bloom.
16
But a scorching wind blows,
and they quickly wither
to be forever forgotten.
17
The Lord is always kind
to those who worship him,
and he keeps his promises
to their descendants
18
who faithfully obey him.
19
God has set up his kingdom
in heaven, and he rules
the whole creation.
20
All of you mighty angels,
who obey God's commands,
come and praise your Lord!
21
All of you thousands
who serve and obey God,
come and praise your Lord!
22
All of God's creation
and all that he rules,
come and praise your Lord!
With all my heart
I praise the Lord!

because of that worldview
