La società londinese Anglofranchise Limited annuncia la risoluzione in suo favore di una battaglia legale durata quasi 10 anni: la questione legata alla proprietà del marchio Boy London in Italia. In virtù della firma dell'accordo di transazione, Anglofranchise Ltd. possiede tutti i diritti sui brand e/o marchi registrati recanti i segni "Boy", "Boy London" e/o l'immagine caratteristica dell'aquila.

Inoltre, a partire dal 1° settembre 2022, le società pugliesi coinvolte si impegnano a cessare ogni produzione e commercializzazione dei prodotti della linea italiana "Boy London". A seguito della firma di questo accordo, Anglofranchise Limited è quindi a tutti gli effetti l'unico proprietario dei diritti del marchio "Boy London" in Italia.

Boy London, fondato nel 1976 da Stephane Raynor, ha rappresentato uno degli epicentri estetici di una nuova alba, sia nella moda che nella musica, anticipando gli stilemi della scena Punk e New Romantic grazie al negozio “Boy” in Kings Road a Londra, dove tra i primi cassieri spiccava un giovanissimo Billy Idol. Prima di concepire il brand Boy, Raynor vendeva abiti anni '50 a Malcolm McLaren nel suo negozio “Let it Rock”, poi ha aperto il leggendario style outlet “Acme Attractions”. Dal 1980, parte il vero, grande successo popolare dell’etichetta inglese, che viene indossata anche da Madonna, Boy George, Andy Warhol e molti rocker e punk in voga all’epoca.

Boy diventa una label must have anche nei club di Ibiza, dove la sua influenza si estenderà fino agli anni ’90. Tuttavia, dopo la metà degli anni ‘80 implode, vittima del suo stesso enorme successo. Negli anni Novanta, grazie ai passaparola di appassionati ed estimatori del marchio, l’etichetta rimane viva nei negozi di seconda mano. Poi, nel 2007, le voci di un rilancio trovano concretezza grazie alla nuova iniziativa di Stephane Raynor: uno store chiamato “Sick”, situato in Redchurch Street, nel cuore della East London, corredato dalla riproposizione della label.

Ad oggi, Boy London è distribuito in oltre 100 negozi multimarca in tutto il mondo. Esistono anche più di 200 negozi monomarca del brand in Asia. L’azienda inglese punta ora a un completo rilancio del brand e delle sue attività di marketing in Italia.
